It was sweet that Astarion was under the belief that no one would figure out he was a vampire before his big reveal. Most of us took one look at him and said "yep, that sure is a vampire right there." Most, however, doesn't include the party members. Some of these characters are supposed to be perceptive and intelligent, and I'm still convinced that if you press your ear against theirs you'd hear elevator music.

also rewatching the miguel scenes reaffirms my belief that he isn't a pure asshole like some people think in the movie. he genuinely felt bad about doing what he was doing to miles- you could see when he reaches out to touch his shoulder, when he puts his hands up when miles turned on him because of that. his tone was gentle and his demeanor was calm... until miles threatened all of the multiverse itself. then he got mad. but even then, underneath it, you could tell he felt bad while he was sending gwen home and she said "we're supposed to be the good guys" and he tries to say that they are, before he takes on his strong front on again. he's not just an angry man- he's *trying to be nice*. that's why he was so mad when he said "he didn't listen to me!" because he was trying to be nice and reasonable while explaining things

I do love how, given how quickly things just progressed, Wolfwood had to have started back toward July before the vines started receding, probably right after talking to Zazie. Even with how ridiculously fast that man can run it’s been about two minutes since Vash pulled back his vines.

He could have fled and done his best to live what little of his own life remained, maybe tried to protect the orphanage again, but as we saw in the previous episode, his own words came back to haunt him:
