I wonder how Will and Hannibal would get to that point in the relationship where they're just a couple. if in some alternate universe jonathan harker had no mina murray to fight to survive for/return to, what do you think would have happened to him? would he have fallen prey to the weird sisters? the wolves? would dracula have gotten--as you've so perfectly phrased it--his bridegroom (emphasis on "groom")?

Honestly? It seems very likely.

True, Jonathan is dedicated enough to Not Staying in the Castle Forever to outright risk dying in a cliff fall or to the wolves, but I think he'd not be so laser focused on survival and escape without Mina there as a reason to really truly try and make it home. If he'd just been an ordinary novice solicitor with no beloved or friends waiting for him, he'd probably be far less wired and far more tired.

I'd wager there was even a chance he'd walk straight into the wolves when Dracula pulls that little door trick on the last night.

Which then begs its own question: What would Dracula do when he discovers his new addition to the castle is abruptly no longer playing his game and actively prepared to end himself rather than finish out the game?
