Finally get to tell you where the inspo for this fic came from now that it won’t give away any spoilers. (all my Irish girlies stand up 🫡) I’d fully forgotten about this song this song until July, and when I listened to it it sparked the little ideas for me, and that’s how I came up with the main plot <3 I've been going through a break up (which was nearly a 10 year relationship) during the time of writing this so ive poured my heart and souuuuul into this ( i also want to note no themes of the story relate to me maybe only mentally clocking out bc of a bare minimum bf, do not fucking cheat on anyone) . this fic has been my baby and im so thankful to anyone who has read so far <3 p.s if you ever go back and reread this you’ll notice the little pieces of lyrics here and there lol
The world came back to me in fragments - blurred lights, muffled sounds, and an overwhelming sense of disorientation. As I fluttered my eyes open, the harsh brightness of the room made me wince. My head pounded with a dull ache, and my body felt heavy, as if it wasn’t quite mine.
I slowly turned my head to the right, trying to take in my surroundings, and there he was. The man I loved, sitting by my bedside. His face was a mixture of relief and something else, fear, maybe? His eyes met mine, and I felt a flicker of familiarity in the chaos of my mind.
“Alex..” I whispered, my voice weak and strained.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. Try not to move too much,” Alex said softly, his hand reaching up to gently stroke my face. His touch was warm, comforting, but something about the way he looked at me sent a ripple of unease through my chest.
“What happened?” I asked, my voice barely audible, as panic started to rise within me. My thoughts were jumbled, trying to piece together how I ended up here. The last thing I remembered was.. was.. I couldn’t even grasp it.
“You got into an accident” Alex explained, his voice steady, but I could see the worry etched into his features. “But you’re going to be okay. You just need to rest.”
An accident? My mind raced, and instinctively, I tried to move, only to be met with sharp pain that made me gasp. “What about my injuries? When can I skate again? I have qualifiers for the Olympics soon!” The words tumbled out of my mouth in a frantic rush, driven by a fear that I couldn’t quite place.
Alex’s face twisted in confusion, and he hesitated before answering. “Y/n.. you haven’t skated in years.”
His words hit me like a punch to the gut. I stared at him, my heart pounding in my chest, refusing to believe what he was saying. “What? No.. that’s not true. I.. I’ve been training. You know that.” My voice quivered with desperation.
Alex exchanged a worried glance with the nurse, then looked back at me, his expression pained. “Y/n, You stopped skating when I was a freshman.. I’m a junior now..”
His words echoed in my head, but they didn’t make any sense. UCLA? Sophomore year? It was as if he was speaking a different language. The last memory I had was waiting anxiously to see if he made the Bruins team, both of us so excited about the possibility of him making it big with football.
“No… no, that’s not right,” I muttered, shaking my head as if it would somehow clear the fog that clouded my thoughts. “Did you get onto the Bruins team?” I asked, clinging to the one thing that made sense to me.
“Y/n..” Alex’s voice was gentle, but it carried the weight of the truth I wasn’t ready to accept.
The room spun around me, and I felt like I was being thrown into a different universe. Everything was wrong, nothing made sense. My heart raced, my breathing quickened, and I felt like I was drowning in confusion.
The female nurse stepped forward, her expression calm and professional. “Alex, could I speak with you outside for a moment?” she asked, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Alex squeezed my hand one last time before letting go, his eyes lingering on mine with a look that made my chest tighten. He nodded and followed the nurse out of the room, leaving me alone with the student nurse who had been quietly observing from the side.
I turned my head slightly to look at him, trying to ground myself in something familiar, something stable. “Can someone tell me how long I’ll have to be in here for?” I asked, my voice trembling.
The boy hesitated, looking a bit uncertain. “I’m not too sure, Y/n. We’ll have to wait for one of the staff to give us results first” he said, trying to sound reassuring as he reached out and cupped my hand with his two.
His gesture was kind, but it only added to my confusion. Why was he holding my hand like that? Was he one of those compassionate doctors who went the extra mile for their patients? My mind struggled to make sense of his actions.
“Can’t you ask someone since you work here?” I asked, hoping for some clarity.
He blinked at me, clearly taken aback. “Work here?”
Before I could respond, the door creaked open, and the female nurse re-entered the room, followed by Alex. There was a heaviness in the air, a sense of something unspoken. The nurse’s eyes met mine, and I could see the concern etched into her features.
“Ms. Y/l/n” she began, her voice gentle yet serious, “I need to explain something to you. After the accident, you sustained a significant concussion, which has led to a form of memory loss known as post-traumatic amnesia..”
“Amnesia?” I whispered, the word foreign and terrifying on my tongue. My gaze darted between her and Alex, hoping for someone to tell me this was all a mistake.
“Yes” she confirmed softly. “From what we can gather, you seem to have lost your recent memories from about two years ago onward. It’s possible that these memories will return with time, but for now, you’re not going to remember much.”
My world shattered with those words. Two years? How could two whole years of my life just be gone? My breath quickened, and the room began to feel smaller, more suffocating. I glanced at Alex, hoping to find some reassurance, but his expression only mirrored my panic.
“Two years?” I asked again, trying to wrap my mind around it. “What happened in those two years? I don’t remember any of it..” My voice trembled as I spoke, my heart sinking deeper into despair.
“That’s okay, Y/n” Alex said, stepping closer to me. “We’ll figure this out together, okay? I’ll help you remember.”
But something about the way he said it felt off. There was a tension in his voice that made me uneasy. I looked back at the boy who had been holding my hand, trying to place his face in the context of my life, but nothing came to mind.
“Who.. who are you?” I asked hesitantly, turning my attention to him. His expression faltered, a mixture of pain and something else flashing across his features.
“Y/n, it’s me.. Matt” he said, his voice tinged with a sorrow that cut through me like a knife.
I stared at him “I- I don't know who you are..” I didn’t recognize him. I didn’t remember anything about him. It was as if the two years that had vanished had taken him with them.
Before I could say anything else, the tension in the room exploded.
“Okay man I think it’s time you leave” Alex snapped, his eyes narrowing at Matt, his voice dripping with venom. “You have no right to be here, especially after what you did.”
“What I did?” Matt shot back, his voice rising with anger. “You’re the one who’s been sat here lying to her! You cheated on her, Alex! Don’t you dare act like you care about her now.”
The words hung in the air like a death sentence. My head spun, the room tilting as I tried to process what was happening. Cheated? Alex cheated on me?
“You’re full of shit, Matt” Alex retorted, stepping closer to him, their faces inches apart. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You’ve been lying to her this entire time!” Matt shouted, his voice cracking with emotion. “You think I don’t know what you’ve done? You think she won’t find out? I won’t let you keep doing this to her.”
“Stop it!” I screamed, my voice cutting through their argument like a knife. Tears streamed down my face as the overwhelming stress consumed me. “Just stop! Both of you, get out! Get out!”
The room fell into a stunned silence. Both Matt and Alex turned to look at me, their expressions a mixture of shock and regret. But I couldn’t take it anymore. The confusion, this talk of betrayal, the loss of my memory - it was too much. I felt like I was drowning, and I needed them to leave before I lost myself completely.
“Please.. just leave.” I begged, my voice barely above a whisper, but firm in its resolve.
Matt’s face crumpled with pain, but he nodded slowly, backing away toward the door. Alex hesitated, his eyes pleading with me to understand, but I couldn’t even look at him.
One by one, they both left the room, the door closing behind them with a finality that left me feeling utterly alone. The silence that followed was deafening, the emptiness in my heart growing with every passing second.
I collapsed back onto the bed, my body trembling as I sobbed, the weight of everything too much to bear. Two years of my life, gone. The man I thought I loved and a stranger. The man who claimed to love me and a liar. The situation infront of me confused me as to which one was which. The memories I needed to make sense of it all, vanished.
I was lost in a world that no longer felt like my own.
Matt’s POV
I walked out of Y/n’s hospital room, the door clicking shut behind me like a hammer driving the final nail into a coffin. My heart pounded in my chest, the adrenaline from my argument with Alex still coursing through my veins, but it was nothing compared to the fiery dread settling in my stomach. Every word I’d said to her, every desperate attempt to break through her confusion, seemed to hang in the air like a suffocating fog.
I made my way to the waiting area, my feet heavy, my mind numb. The bright, white lights overhead did nothing to chase away the darkness consuming my thoughts. We approached the row of cold plastic chairs and Alex sat down, his elbows resting on his knees, head buried in his hands. I could feel the tension radiating off him, but I was too consumed by my own torment to care.
I dropped into a chair two seats away from him, the hard plastic pressing against my back, and let my head fall into my hands. My thoughts spiraled, chaotic and disjointed, but always coming back to one image - the moment she was hit.
The screech of tires. The blinding headlights. The sickening thud as Y/n’s body crumpled under the car’s impact. I could still hear the scream that tore through me as I watched her fly through the air, time slowing to a crawl, helpless to stop it. It played over and over in my mind, each replay more gut wrenching than the last.
I should’ve been faster. I should’ve told her how I really felt. I should’ve… My fists clenched in my hair as I tried to choke down the guilt that threatened to swallow me whole.
What was I even doing on that balcony? Watching her run out of the house, pacing back and forth. I should’ve gone to her instead of just standing there like an idiot, too lost in my own confusion and pain to act. And then when I saw the car coming down the hill, everything in me froze.
"Y/n, get off the road!!" I had shouted, but my voice felt so small, so powerless against the force of what was about to happen. But it's too late.
In a split second, the beam of headlights blinds her. The screeching of tires fills the air as the car tries to stop, but the impact is inevitable. I watch in horror as the car strikes Y/n. The sound of the collision is deafening, and time seems to slow down.
She’s thrown backward, landing hard on the pavement. I can’t breathe, my legs feel like jelly as I race down the stairs, stumbling and pushing through the crowd.
When I finally reach her, my heart is pounding in my chest, my breath coming in short, panicked bursts. I kneel beside her, tears streaming down my face as I try to make sense of the horrific scene before me.
Y/n lies on the ground, her face contorted in pain, her body unmoving. The car speeds away into the night, leaving behind a scene of devastation. The people around us have began to scatter, some calling for an ambulance, others standing in shocked silence.
I gently cradle Y/n's head in my lap, my hands shaking uncontrollably. "Y/n, stay with me," I pleaded, my voice choking with emotion. "Please, stay with me."
She blinks slowly, her eyes meeting mine with a look of pain and resignation. I can see the life fading from her, and it feels like my world is collapsing around me.
The sound of sirens grows louder, and I can hear the distant honking of emergency vehicles approaching. I try to stay strong for her, to keep her conscious until help arrives, but my heart is breaking.
"I’m so sorry," I whisper, tears falling freely. "I’m so sorry for everything."
As the ambulance pulls up, paramedics rush to our side, taking over the situation with practiced efficiency. I’m left standing on the sidelines, my heart shattered as I watch them work to save her. I know that nothing will ever be the same again, and the weight of what just happened is almost too much to bear.
Now she was in that hospital bed, her memories shattered along with my heart. She didn’t even recognize me. My face, my voice - nothing. I was just a stranger to her now, a distant memory from a life she couldn’t even recall.
And then there was Alex. The guy she “loved”, the guy who’d betrayed her. He sat there just a few feet away, but it felt like a canyon stretched between us. I knew he was going to see this as an opportunity to weasel his way back into her life. She didn't remember any of it, him cheating, the way he treated her like an option. And now this was his free pass, to get her back like nothing had ever happened. I wanted to punch him, to scream at him for all the lies he’d fed her, for making this even more unbearable than it already was. But what good would that do? None of it would bring her memories back. None of it would undo the damage that had been done.
I glanced sideways at Alex. He was still in the same position, as if he were trapped in his own private hell. Good. He deserved it. But the satisfaction was fleeting, replaced quickly by a wave of exhaustion and despair.
All I could do was sit there, replaying the accident in my head, the look of panic in Y/n’s eyes as she realized what was happening, the way everything went silent just before impact. It was a moment I knew would haunt me for the rest of my life, one that no amount of apologies or explanations could ever make right.
All I wanted was for her to be okay, to wake up and remember me, remember us. But even that hope felt distant now, buried under the weight of the reality we were in.
I let out a shuddering breath, forcing myself to look away from Alex and focus on the dull hum of the hospital around us. Waiting, that’s all we could do now. Wait and hope for a miracle that seemed less likely with each passing second.
The door in front of us opened, and in came Nick, Madi, Chris & Emily. I had gone to the hospital with Y/n in the ambulance, and the paramedics contacted Alex as he was still down as Y/n’s emergency contact. The news of what happened tore through the party fast, but getting out of the place was hard to do so with the amount of emergency services on scene.
“God Matt is she okay?” Nick asks frantically.
“She’s awake Nick.. she’ll be okay.. But she doesn’t remember anything.”
“Oh thank god she's okay, maybe it’s for the best that she doesn't remember the accident happening.” Nick says, trying to make me feel better.
“No, Nick. She doesn’t remember anything. She doesn’t remember me, she won't remember you, she doesn’t have any memory of the last 2 years at all.” I said, tears outlining my eyes.
Nick stood there with a horrified expression on his face. “You love her don’t you?” Nick whispers, so low that only us can hear.
“More than anything Nick, more than anything I know.”
“Do you think I could go in and see her?” Nick questions.
“If you want, but she’s stressed out at the minute.. Just try your best not to make anything worse.” I say, as Nick nods at me, getting up to gently knock on the door to Y/n’s room.
I take my eyes off Nick and lock eyes with Emily.
“Can we go outside for a minute for some air?” I asked her, knowing I'm about to have a conversation that I should’ve handled differently nights ago.
a/n: sorry.. again..

𖦹 synopsis You’ve been Jolyne’s close friend for years, but never paid attention to her family. Who would’ve thought that she had a banging hot father?
𖦹 word count 3.5k [about 13 mins]
𖦹 a/n hello! If this blows up, no spoilers about jjba.. i have not watched past part 4 as this is being made, so i am not 100% of how part 5 or 6 has gone on. THANKS!! (also jotaro is in his part 4 outfit. thxx) [story below the cut]
“So, y/n, are ya comin’ to my apartment later today?” Jolyne asks she puts her stuff in her car. “Maybe... I have to study for my chem final so I don’t know if I can stay for long,” you respond gripping the strap of your bookbag. She gives you are sarcastic frown, whining in response. She puts a hand on your arms, rubbing it up and down gently. “C’monnn… you know.. my dad will be in town for this week.” You furrow your eyebrows. Obviously, you knew about Jolyne’s family, and even been to her house many times, but her father has never been at home. You can’t even recall if you caught a glimpse of her father. You don’t even know his name. You only know her father by ‘Mr. Kujo’.
“I’m shocked, since when did you care about your dad being in town?” You question the bright green-haired girl. Jolyne leans back on her car, making her a bit shorter. “Look, I know I don’t talk about him a lot, but this is the first time that my dad has actually made an interest in seeing me,” She said sternly. “If you don’t want to come that’s fine, but for some reason, I don’t want to be alone with him. As weird as that is..” She continues on.
You close your eyes and think. It’s one thing to meet Jolyne’s dad because it happens, but it’s another thing to meet Jolyne’s dad because you’re meant to clear the air. However, it’s Jolyne. You’d do anything for her. “Ok.. but if I go to your apartment, I have to sleep over, ok?” Jolyne squeals in excitement. “Like I’d say no to that?” She gives you a warm hug and then opens her car door to get inside. She turns on her car and then rolls down the windows.
“I love ya so much! I’d passionately make out with you if I didn’t have an errand to run.. see ya!” She winks at you then rolls her car window back up. She pulls out of the parking lot, leaving you alone. You sigh. This better be worth it.
You walk up to the front of Jolyne’s apartment door, smiling to yourself at the cute decor she’s put on the door. You ring the doorbell, with the door opening a near second later. Jolyne, wearing an oversized graphic tee with long pajama pants, lounges at you. “I’m so grateful you came! I’m not gonna’ lie to you, but I was tracking down your location as well..”
“What?” You say in confusion. “It’s that serious?”
“Well.. no. But, ya’know!” She says lifting her eyebrows up as if she’s indicting something you can’t grasp.
“Since when did you have my loca-” You’re cut off by Jolyne dragging you inside by your arm, and closing the door soon after. You take off your jacket, revealing your tight-fitting shirt. Jolyne turns around to face you a small smirk creeps up her face. “Free the nipples huh?” She says puzzlingly. You shake your head no. “Ah. So you just have no bra on. Well, not like I have a dress code here anyways.” She walks to her kitchen, picking up something from her microwave. You set your bag aside and plop down on her soft velvet couch.
“Want sum’ pizza rolls? It’s homemade..” Jolyne says blowing on one.
“Nah, I already ate the bookstore.” Jolyne shrugs and sets her plate down on the coffee table. You sit back up and open your bag, pulling out your laptop and your iPad. “You mind if I watch some TV?” You nod no as you go back to your screen, memorizing and writing as much material as you can.
The two of you continue to be in your own worlds until you are interrupted by the ring of Jolyne’’s doorbell. “That’s him. I’ll get it.” Jolyne says nervously as she rubs her hands together walking up to the door. You hear a faint exchange of ‘hellos’ from the door, but it’s nothing crazy to take you out of your work. You hear the door close and then the shuffle of footsteps. “Not too bad,” You hear a deep, raspy voice say.
“I didn’t know you had someone over, Jolyne.”
You look over to see Jolyne’s dad and meet eyes with possibly the most handsome man you’ve seen. He is tall, really tall. With a very defined jawline, and dark eyebrows. Not to mention, his eyes. His gorgeous green eyes. You swear you can stare into them for hours. You were too busy just admiring his looks and didn’t notice a small smile creeping up his face. “I would assume you greet people by just staring?”
You close your laptop right away then get up and pat yourself of dust that was never there to begin with. “I-I’m sorry... Mr. Kujo,” You manage. He extends his hand towards you, seemingly expecting a handshake from you. “Oh... It’s y/n.., sorry.” You stutter.
“It’s ok.” He says sternly.
“Well then.. uhm... Dad,” Jolyne speaks up. She gestures for him to sit on the couch, in an attempt to make him comfortable. You start to pack up stuff, feeling too awkward and too embarrassed to stay for another minute. The silence was also terrible, so that was another sign for you to move somewhere else.
“You don’t have to leave.” He says abruptly. His voice was just so… demanding yet calm? You couldn’t explain it, but everything about him was just you obey what he says or face punishment. Honestly, he made you nervous. Extremely nervous. And he noticed that.
“Yeah y/n… you don’t have to leave at all,” Jolyne says, making a “stay right fucking here” face that only you can see. You place your stuff back down on the table. Since there was really nowhere else to sit and you didn’t want to sit on Jolyne’s cold ass floors, you were forced to sit next to Mr. Kujo. But you left a great amount of space between you two. Jolyne’s eyes brightened. She had an idea. It probably isn’t a good one too. It’s an idea she does a lot, that annoys you to your core.
“I actually made you some food for you, but I placed it in the fridge since I didn’t want to leave it out for long so…” Oh my god. No way she was bailing on you. With her dad of all people. Jolyne starts to back up away from you and her dad, inching closer to the kitchen. “I will heat that up, so just… converse with y/n! She’s a fun girl if you get to know her well.” And with that, Jolyne is fully in the kitchen, successfully avoiding a situation by making you her bait.
There are about two moments of silence before Mr. Kujo takes the remote to turn on the TV and play something random. I guess that's his own way of killing the silence huh? “What do you study?” He speaks suddenly again.
“Huh?”
“Yare Yare Daze..”
You have no idea what he just said, but with the way he said it, you can tell it wasn’t a good thing. He leans back on the couch a little more, but his sitting stance is still proper. You don’t know why you blank out in moments like these, because now you look like an idiot to Jolyne’s dad. A man you’ve just met.
More moments of silence continue, as the television show adds background noise. “Biology. I plan to be a vet after graduate school,” Mr. Kujo turns his head at you, giving you his full attention. He lifts an eyebrow in amusement. “Say, I actually majored in Biology myself,” You chuckle, shocked at the fact that someone like him would actually go into a major like that.
“If you ever need help with anything, you can call me.”
What? Call him? Mr. Kujo clears his throat. “I mean… it’s a hard subject. You’re better off getting help for free rather than paying for a tutor.” You nod your head in agreement. “Thank you… do you want me to give you my number or?...” You ask, hoping he gives you his number instead for some strange reason. “Give me your phone, I’ll put my digits in there.” You comply, handing him your phone. You scoot closer to him to make sure nothing pops up on your phone, like when you are showing something to your parent on your phone. You look at him putting in his number, then look at his face. God, he is so handsome. It might be wrong to think this, but when you see someone attractive, you see someone attractive. That’s just natural.
“Here, I put my number in there.” Mr. Kujo hands you back your phone. You look at it and see a new contact card. “Jotaro?”
“Yes, that is my first name.” He says blankly. “You don’t have to call me ‘Mr. Kujo’... no one close to me does.”
You feel your face heat up in embarrassment. “Sorry…”
“Sorry, what?”
Your eyebrows twitch in confusion. Sorry what? What do I say? You and Mr. Kujo look each other in the face. With Mr. Kujo looking like he wants you to do something for him.
“Oh. Sorry, Jotaro.” He looks away, seemingly satisfied with you calling him Jotaro. Maybe calling him ‘Mr. Kujo’ made him uncomfortable, considering how no one else does, and it’s probably too formal in general. But wait a minute. What could he have meant by nobody close to him calling him that? Are you two suddenly friends even though there was an awkward exchange between you two?
Your thoughts are interrupted by the smell of lasagna, specifically Jolyne bringing it out onto his diner table. “I know it may be a little late to eat this, but it won’t kill us to be like Garfield for a day.” She takes out three plates, presumably for us to eat. “It’s okay. I already ate myself Jolyne.” Jotaro says bluntly.
Jolyne looks at Jotaro, undoubtedly upset by her father’s sentence. She looks down at the food, then looks back at you. “Oh. Well, y/n, do you want some?” Knowing you can’t leave her in the dark like this, you nod your head yes in an attempt to lift Jolyne’s spirits. It seemed to work because she poured herself a plate as well. Jolyne places you and her plates of food on the coffee table, then sit on the floor. You can’t see Jotaro’s face anymore, but you can’t help but feel like he is burning a hole through your shirt. Your phone buzzes and you flip it over to see the notification. It was a text message from Jotaro.
Thank you.
Jolyne sleeps soundly as you sit at her desk, finishing up your studying. You check the time, 11:45 pm. It was late. You wondered if Jotaro had left already, considering how the both of you went to Jolyne’s room around 10 pm. But you didn’t hear the door open or close. Deciding to answer your curiosity, you walk out of her room, looming down her dark hallway. There you see Jotaro, still awake, with his focus on the TV. His posture is a lot more lax than before, his legs spread and he even has his hat off. He turns over to you. “I didn’t know you were still awake.” He pats the couch, signaling for you to go sit next to him. You obey, sitting down next to him without a word.
Once again, silence ensues. It’s not like you’re bad at starting conversations, you’re just bad at starting conversations with him. “Look, I just want to say thank you,” Jotaro bursts out. You look at him, seeing him already looking at you. “For what? I-I didn’t do much other than make things awkward.” You say nervously. This was weird. You were appreciative of the fact that Jotaro is thanking you, but it was weird because you have no idea what he was thanking you for.
“I’m not thanking you because of today, I’m thanking you for the years you stuck by Jolyne,” He says warmly. “I wasn’t around much in her life, and I’ve missed important moments for her, but even then, she wasn’t alone. She had you.”
You stare down at your thighs, unable to think of what to say. You didn’t know what to think, he just admitted to being an absent father and is thanking a mere 22-year-old for being around his daughter for over a decade. You want to pity him, considering how Jolyne excused his actions by saying that it was for the benefit of her and her mom, but Jolyne really needed him at times. “You may not have the greatest thoughts of me but, I still want you to know that I am indebted to you, y/n.”
“It’s nothing, but you’re here now. Stay. For Jolyne’s sake.” Jotaro nods his head and then turns his attention back to the TV. 30 minutes of pure silence and the show that Jotaro was watching occurs. Making yet another awkward moment between you two. You look at the clock on the wall. 12:15 am. “Well… it’s getting late so, maybe I should hit the hay?” You say to break the silence. You stand up from the couch until you feel a large, warm hand grab your wrist. “Wait,” Jotaro says. His voice just went an octave lower than it is, and you swear you went weak from that. He stands up from the couch, making you realize just how tall he is. (a/n - my 6’5 daddy ahhhh 🤪😝) He removes his grip from your wrist, but stands in front of you, blocking any way of you walking away from him. His body is no more than 4 inches away from yours, and the smell of his rather earthy cologne fills your nose.
“I didn’t explain my appreciativeness properly earlier…” He says, leaning his face about 2 inches from yours. Your brain wasn’t comprehending what was going on, but you know that you want whatever will happen in the next 10 seconds. “Let me thank you properly.”
Jotaro places his hands over your face and passionately kisses you. As if by instinct, you kiss him back, leaving your mouth agape so that his tongue can explore your mouth better. You slowly droop down onto the couch, with Jotaro not breaking the kiss between you two. You both sit on the couch, Jotaro is hunched over you, letting the once-passionate kiss become rough. He then backs away leaving a string of saliva between the two of you. He places his big hands over your top, slipping it off. Since you weren’t wearing a bra, your breasts were already in view for him. He gets close and sucks on them, circling and nibbling at your nipple. “So fucking perfect…” He mumbles. He backs away from your breasts, then scoots farther down the chair.
“This may be sudden, but would you let me eat your pussy?” He asks sternly.
You were quick to comply, fixing your body flat, with your crotch facing Jotaro. Jotaro removes your pants, revealing your bright pink panties. He rubs your clothed clit with his thick thumb, you slightly arching your back to the feeling. You bite your bottom lip to contain your moans, but you can’t help a couple of whimpers come out. Jotaro then takes off your panties, leaving you completely naked for him. He stares at your naked body and smiles. “You’re so beautiful, you know that? You practically gave me a boner when you saw me enter.” He goes up to kiss your neck and leaves a few hickeys, making his way down your body. “Those pretty eyes of yours, I want to ruin that look so bad…”
Jotaro is now face-to-face with your pussy, leaving his mouth slightly agape making you feel hot air on your sensitive clit. The feeling of the air on your nub makes your body tingle, with you shifting your legs around. Jotaro places a firm grip on your thighs, keeping the lower portion of your body in place. “Please… Jotaro..” You whine, desperately wanting him to eat you out. “Patience baby, you’re just not wet enough for me…” He responds.
Are you serious? You are about ten seconds away from pushing Jotaro’s head into your pussy and clamping your thighs shut, but if he wasn’t as scary as he was then you seriously would’ve done it. “Please... Jotaro,” At this point, you’re a crying, whimpering mess. As bad as it is, you didn’t even care if Jolyne heard either. All you wanted right now, was for Jotaro to devour you like you’re his last meal on Earth. Jotaro chuckles mischievously.
He licks a long stride down your pussy. A sinful moan comes out from your mouth. Jotaro tightens his grip, “Shut up… you don’t want to wake Jolyne up, do you?” He brings your thighs closer to his face, sensing the prickly feeling of his stubble on your soft thighs. Jotaro slowly licks circles around your clit, torturing you with the pace he’s going at. You engulf your hands in his dark curly locks and slowly grind yourself on his tongue. “So fucking impatient.” He mumbles, deciding to pick up his pace and send his tongue up and down your pussy.
You bite down on a pillow to contain your moans, because at this point your lips hurt too much from attempting to keep your moans. Jotaro is swirling his tongue around every crevice of your pussy as he can, even sticking it into your wet hole. Although it can’t go far, his nose is so close to your clit that you can feel him breathing on it ONTOP of him putting his tongue inside your hole. The sound is ungodly, the noise from the TV being replaced by the sound of slushing and Jotaro’s low but audible growls.
“Fuck you taste so good…need you to cum on my tongue. Now,” He grunts, fucking his tongue against your throbbing numb clit. You had planned to hold your climax just a little bit for how he teased you earlier, but the tone of his voice implied that he was serious, and he was going to make you cum on his command. Whether you want to or not.
“Don’t get any smart ideas, I’ll use my fingers if I have to,” He says moving one of his hands closer to your crotch. You weren’t going to disobey, seeing how you aren’t in the position to decline, and he was making you feel insanely good. At this point, you’re gripping onto Jotaro’s hair, and shoving his face into your cunt, as if he’s your vibrator. He’s not complaining either, hearing how there are feral moans coming out from him too. “You like this? You like how I’m devouring your wet little pussy hm?” He muffles, sending you over the edge. Your clit begins to jitter, signaling that you are close to climaxing.
“Mmm.. m’ so close, Taro..” you whine, begging him to slow down his pace. Jotaro isn’t budging, however. You were feeling so many mixed emotions at this point, letting go of the pillow and moaning freely. How would Jolyne respond if she saw her dad's face deep into her best friend’s pussy? Was a thought that swelled in your head, but… it turned you on. “I’m gonna..cum Taro p-please..” You whimper. You relax your head back as you reach your climax, clamping Jotaro’s head with your thighs and your feet shaking in response. Fuck. Not only did Jolyne’s dad just give you head, but it was a leg-shaking one at that.
Jotaro releases his grip and begins to sit up straight. As you sit up straight, you notice what appears to be a droplet of liquid on his chin. “I didn’t know you were like that, but I’m not bothered by it..” He says as he wipes his chin with his hand. You look down to see an obvious boner in his pants. You slide your hand across his thigh but he stops you with his hand. You look up at him to see his face. “It’s quite obvious that I don’t have sexual… tendencies… with the friends of my daughter but, you’re a different case. Jolyne has talked about you a lot, and in all honestly, I’ve been waiting to meet you.” He says with a visibly frustrated face.
“As much as I’d desire to take things further, I know once I start, I won’t stop. Regardless if someone sees… you get my gist?” You nod your head in agreement. “Great. So can you put on your clothes and go to sleep with Jolyne as if I wasn’t eating you out about 2 minutes ago? I’m sure you can handle that for me, baby.”
You pick up your clothes and put them on, fixing yourself to normal. You give Jotaro one final look then you start to walk back into Jolyne’s room. You breathe a sigh of relief seeing as Jolyne is still sound asleep. You crawl into her bed and cuddle her. In the end, you felt wrong but not at the same time. Jotaro didn’t only make you orgasm, but squirt as well? Not even a regular hookup you had with a frat boy could make that possible for you.
I guess Jolyne was right in a sense when she said older men do it best.

Tumblr media
“Do you think we’d still date if we knew each other when we were in school?”
Your question is a random but welcomed conversation as you both work to reset your shared kitchen after dinner, you wash as he dries. In the seconds between the next clean dish, he pauses to consider his answer, before choosing to reach for low-hanging fruit.
“Do you mean high school? If so then...I hope not,” he finally answers. He can’t help but laugh as you fling the excess water and soap from your fingers onto him in indignation.
“No, I didn’t mean fucking high school. And quit making me seem like a fucking cradle robber, asshole.” You’ve been together long enough that the four-year age difference between the two of you is little more than a fun fact and a harmless joke at times. He can sense your annoyance is mostly for show but he chooses not to push any further.
“Ok, ok. I’m sorry,” he manages to get out between chuckles, fending himself from the assault of suds. Again he pauses to really think about what could’ve been. What would he have studied? Would he manage to get into a university with a good team? How would you manage to cross paths? He realizes it’s hard to consider anything when he doesn’t know much about your own school experience outside of the anecdotal stories you’ve told him.
“Tell me what you were like in school first.”
You resume washing the dishes, multitasking as you answer him.
“Um…pretty lame honestly. I wrote for the school’s newspaper. I wasn’t super active on campus but that made me get out there more than I would’ve on my own. But I did go to some parties.”
He lets your answer sink in.
“Yeah, I think we would’ve still got along. You don’t sound like you were much different from now so I don’t see why not.”
Out of the corner of his eye, he can see your lips turn slightly up, pleased with his answer. Cute.
“Do you ever think about your life if things turned out differently? Like if Blue Lock never happened?”
He can’t say he has. Blue Lock changed his life on its head completely, it’s hard to imagine things working out any differently. Tada and the others he went to school with were freshly graduated, at least according to their social media updates, so he supposes he would be too. Yet still, it’s hard to think about something so different than today.
“I dunno. I can’t really picture it. Actually, I don’t even want to. If I didn’t go to Blue Lock then who knows if I’d ever get the chance to play the soccer I want to. I’d probably never get to play professionally either.” He lets his train of thought wander, eventually realizing that without playing professionally, who knows if he’d ever cross paths with you. He buries the thought before it can even fully form and upset himself in the process.
“Yeah, that’s fair,” you conclude as you hand him the final dish. “I’m gonna get ready for bed. Can you just finish up here by sweeping?”
He nods in the affirmative, which you thank with a kiss that just misses his lips before leaving in the direction of the bedroom. Left with only his thoughts he can’t help but think a bit more about what could’ve been.
Obviously, he’d continue playing soccer as long as possible. Sure his high school team wasn’t amazing, but maybe through tryouts he’d end up at a decent enough school. And he’s always liked art class. Maybe he would’ve tried to pursue a fine arts degree? Or physical therapy to help athletes just in case soccer really didn’t pan out. But what then? For someone who’s built an entire soccer career around the ability to visualize a scenario, he really can’t help but to draw a blank.
Distracted by being in his own head, finishing around the kitchen takes longer than usual. When he finally manages to make his way to your shared room, he just manages to hear the sink’s water turn off, a sign that you’re at the tail end of your nightly routine.
He turns down the bed, first removing the many throw pillows you insist are necessary (a mild point of contention in his opinion. After all, what good is a pillow you’re not even allowed to lay on?) and then making himself comfortable using the “sleeping pillows” to prop himself up against the headboard, occupying himself by scrolling on the phone while he waits for you to make your way to bed. Despite it being the off-season he’s scheduled to meet with a trainer to maintain his conditioning so an early night is in order.
The click of the bathroom door opening draws his eyes but more importantly, what you’ve decided to wear to bed has his full attention.
“Baby, you look-” he starts before you cut him off.
“Is this still a good time for the interview?”
“Interview?”
He’s never been so confused in his life. And even worse, he can’t even dedicate half of his mind to start to comprehend what you’re playing at when he’s busy eyeing you from head to toe. The only thing on his mind is the oversized replica of his Bastard München jersey you’ve tied at your waist and the shortest skirt he’s ever seen. If he were to turn you around he’s sure that it’d cover absolutely nothing he’s sure a skirt is meant to. But even more captivating is the pair of thigh highs that indent into your skin the same way his fingers do when he-
“Yes? The post-game interview. I was hoping to get a quote for the paper from the player that scored the winning goal.”
“Uhh…” Is the most intelligent answer he can muster as he watches you climb onto the bed with a pad of paper and pen in hand. The size of the jersey only frames your cleavage as it gapes open thanks to gravity. Eventually, you make yourself comfortable, legs tucked under you and pen poised to take notes of his response.
“Is it ok if I record this,” you ask, sliding your phone on the nightstand, voice recorder rolling once he manages a stiff nod of his head. You continue. “So what were you thinking in that last play? It was pretty amazing if I say so myself.”
“Winning goal?” He should feel embarrassed by the way he can’t pull his eyes from your legs but the slither of skin between where your skirt ends and the socks begin is calling his name. It’s like he’s in high school again the way he can feel the blood rush from his head. Only your groan of annoyance gives him the strength to meet your eyes again.
“Babe, it’s called role play,” you say as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world. Maybe in some ways, it is.
“Right. Role play.” A beat passes. “What exactly are the roles we’re playing?”
The look you give him makes his cock twitch in his pants.
“Obviously, you’re the star of our university’s soccer team and I am the reporter assigned to cover the season. You just scored the championship goal. Aaaand scene,” you drop your pen and paper to clap for extra effect and then grab both again, poised and ready for his answer.
Truthfully, he can hardly keep up with your antics but that’s never stopped him from trying. He’s had enough practice managing eccentric personalities from the cast of characters Blue Lock managed to put together so this is nothing but a cakewalk. The fact he’s in love with you only makes your idiosyncrasies endearing.
“Right.” He clears his throat, buying time. “I try to keep a cool head and focus on the field whenever I’m playing. A championship game doesn’t change that.”
You scratch something down on the notepad before continuing.
“And how do you feel now that you’ve won?”
“It’s a big achievement to win the championship for the school, and even more so to be the one to finish the game. I just hope to do even better next year.”
This time you jot away a bit longer, leaving his attention to wander back to your outfit. He reaches out a hand to appreciate the getup, running his hand up your knee to just under the hem of your skirt.
“Mr. Isagi you seem pretty distracted. Are you sure this is still a good time?”
“Call me Yoichi”. He doesn’t move his hand away when he answers.
Again you put down your props, seemingly for good as they rest next to your phone.
“I suppose this is probably too boring of a celebration for a star player like yourself. I should probably let you go back to the team for a proper congratulations. I’m sure you have quite the fan club waiting for you.”
“I doubt it. I’ve never been that popular.”
With that, you scoot closer, letting your legs fall open so that he can get the slightest glimpse between your legs if your skirt were to ride up even the slightest centimeter.
“That sounds doubtful. Who wouldn’t want a chance with Isagi Yoichi? Ace of the soccer team. Handsome and nice to boot.”
Despite complimenting his personality, your attention is focused on his physique, eyes roaming across his body appreciatively. He doesn’t fail to notice that you linger a second longer where the sheets have started to tent.
“Do you think it’d be ok if I properly congratulated you,” you ask, resting a hand on the sheet, ready to pull it away at a moment’s notice. You both have a healthy sex life, both well accustomed to initiating, but it’s rare for you to be so forward. He might pass out if you wait any longer to touch him.
“Congratulations? What did you have in mind?” Is all he can get out, forcing you to get straight to the point.
“Let me suck your cock. As a congratulations on a job well done.” Your hand cups his length through both the layers of the sheet, his joggers, and underwear, but he swears he could still cum with the slightest amount of friction he’s so wound up.
“Yeah. Yes. Please.” He’s near breathless, he wants you so badly.
Not a second is wasted before you have him bare from the waist down. He completes the look by pulling his shirt over his head, throwing the offending article wherever it chooses to land. All the while, you shimmy yourself down between his legs. Sure he’s the one fully naked but the eroticism of the sight before him already has him on the brink of cumming.
His name emblazoned between your shoulder blades is something he still has yet to learn to be normal about, but more than that, he finds that he was right about your skirt not covering an inch of your backside. However, what he wasn’t expecting was for it to perfectly frame the curve of your ass since you’ve apparently decided to forego underwear.
“Fuck me,” he gets out in only a puff of air.
“In due time, Mr. Yoichi,” is all you offer before kissing the mushroom tip, smearing the precum that’s collected on your lips, and then swallowing all that will comfortably fit in your mouth. It takes all the strength he can muster to not instinctively buck into you but he can’t hide the deep groan that comes out involuntarily as he meets the entrance of your throat.
“Fuck. You’re so good at this. Always so good,” he offers as he bundles your hair into his fist, slowly guiding you up and down his length. The praise leads you to moan around him, getting him even closer to the brink of cumming.
To get a better view he props himself up on one shaky arm, massaging all that he can reach, as you use your other hand to fondle his balls. Mere minutes pass before he starts to feel the familiar pit of pleasure begin to grow in his belly and it takes all his willpower to pull you off of him before he cums from the added stimulation. It’s next to a miracle that he manages to hold off even after he’s pulled you off once he sees the thick strings of saliva that still connect the two of you.
“I wasn’t done yet,” you have the audacity to pout.
“I didn’t want to cum yet,” he answers. Even to his own ears, he sounds debauched.
While still catching his breath he pulls you close, encouraging you to straddle him. You do and let out quiet moans as you rut your bare pussy against his length. Despite being so close to cumming before, he’s happy to let you do as you please. When your legs eventually tire, he switches to using both hands on your waist to manhandle you the way he knows you like.
“Tell me how you feel, sweetheart.” He can’t get enough of your sounds, no matter how small. To see how much of a mess you’re making he flips the front of your skirt, his tip coming in and out of view as he rocks you back and forth.
“So good, Yoichi. Your hands feel so good.”
He knows it’s not enough to get you off, that you need more. Eventually, he stops, pulling you down so that your chests meet. If you really want to role play, he figures he should get into the role he’s been assigned.
“Is there more to my award,” he asks, hands roaming under the jersey and under your skirt. There’s nowhere his hands don’t explore while he waits for your answer.
“W-what more do you want?”
He moves his right hand so that it’s between your bodies, spreading your pussy lips so that he can fully appreciate the wetness that’s accumulated. He uses his full palm to rub your clit while he answers.
“You said you’d fuck me in due time, yeah? Or were you all talk?”
“Um…about that.” Your eyes are fluttering, struggling to stay open and focus on his words. He feels like he’s on top of the world seeing how he can ruin you. “I have to t-tell you something.”
“I’m listening baby.” His voice is muffled as he leaves kisses across your neck and cheeks. Anywhere he can reach while you still use him to get off.
“I’ve never done this before.” Your eyes meet.
The proverbial record scratches and again he’s confused.
“What do you mean, you’ve never done this before?” Sure you both have busy schedules but there’s no way this is new to either of you. As a matter of fact, it couldn’t be more than a week since he had you in this exact position-
“I was a virgin when I got to college,” you whisper directly in his ear.
Again you have the upper hand as it feels like he’s been doused with a bucket of ice. The feeling only lasts a second though before it feels like every nerve lights up once he connects that this is still a part of the scene you’ve conjured. Oh.
The idea of you as a virgin has never crossed his mind once until this very moment. Given the age you were when you met, he had no reason to give it consideration. It’s not like he was even a virgin when you met. He makes a mental note to do some soul-searching later to find out why he’s rock hard and nearly brought back to the brink of cumming at the mere idea.
“Do…do you want to keep going?”
You laugh. A full out belly laugh.
“Yoichi, you're so cute. Only you would still be so considerate even in a fantasy.”
If all the blood in his body wasn’t occupied he’d probably blush at your teasing.
“I fucking love you,” you emphasize with a kiss. “Yes, I want to continue.”
Not another word is needed before he’s fully plunged back into the world you’ve created. No, he's never thought about you as a virgin but now that the seed has been planted he’s going to absolutely ruin you.
Within a breath, he’s switched your positions, now with you on your back and him pulling your legs onto his lap as he sits above you.
“Tell me if anything is too much, ok?” He preambles before he sucks both his ring and middle fingers, slowly pushing in one finger, then the other when he deems you ready.
Now that you’re fully on display for him he can’t help but stare. Again, the skirt hides absolutely nothing but he does push the jersey so that your tits are on display for him as well. Seeing you dressed but so exposed has his head swimming.
“You’re so pretty. Prettiest thing I’ve seen on campus.” If he’s going to play along, then he might as well go all out.
He bends at the waist to take in one tit, using his tongue to lick at and bite your nipple, before turning his attention to the other all the while he doesn’t stop pumping his fingers into you.
“Yoichi, please. I need you,” you whine.
He takes pity on you and moves from your chest and back up to your lips, kissing you deeply. God, he’s so in love with you.
“I’m sorry, baby. I just wanted to make sure you were good and ready. I want to make sure I don’t hurt you.”
“I promise I’m ready.”
“Ok, ok. I hear you. But can you do me a favor and clean my fingers for me?”
As soon as his request hits his ears your mouth falls open in a way that can only be described as obedient. He lets you suck at both his fingers until he removes them himself, the way your tongue slips between them turning him on all the more.
“So good for me. I really am a lucky guy, huh?” He watches you preen under his praise as he reaches next to your head for an extra pillow, lifting your hips to situate it underneath you.
“Ok, if you need me to stop just tell me, ok? For any reason.” You nod your head yes.
“Need to hear you say it.”
“Yes, Yoichi. I promise.”
“That’s my good girl.”
He locks his hand in yours before he finally presses into you, both of you moaning as he works his hips into you. It’s a fantasy, sure, but he’s as mindful as he can be to be slow and let you get accustomed to him, even if it’s far from your first times, or even 48 hours since he last fucked you.
He’s captivated by the way your mouth falls open as he fucks into you. It’s familiar but entrances him every time. When you give the go ahead he increases his pace, working at that spot he knows gets you there the fastest.
“More, need more,” and he knows exactly what you need, licking his thumb before rubbing against your clit in tight circles. It’s only through time and experience that he knows exactly how to work your body, confirmed by the way you babble his name as if it’s the only word you know.
“You’re taking me so well. Feel so good, so tight. Can feel you squeezing me. You gonna cum for me?”
“Yeah. Gonna cum for you. So fucking close.” You’re wrecked.
“I know, baby. Tell me what you need.”
“Kiss me.”
Your wish is his command, him meeting your waiting mouth. It’s barely a kiss as you can hardly meet his mouth between your moans but he swallows them all dutifully. It’s when your back arches and you fall near silent beside one final cry of his name does he know that you’re cumming. He pulls away to watch you fall apart.
“That’s my girl. So beautiful. Let it out for me.” The vice around his cock makes it difficult to fuck you through your orgasm but he powers through. Only once you relax does he rut into you a few more times before he loses himself, filling you as deeply as he can manage.
It’s silent once he collapses next to you, both catching your breath. When he catches his breath before you he departs with a peck to your lips before he leaves for the bathroom, returning with a damp rag.
“If that’s what I missed out on then I wouldn’t have minded going to school,” he breaks the reverie, cleaning between your legs before his cum has a chance to cool and become uncomfortable.
“Well, I’m glad everything worked out the way it did. Now I can have you all to myself,” you smile at him. He thinks his heart might burst.
“Yeah…that’s true too. Maybe everything worked out the way it did so that we could meet each other?”
“God, you're so sappy. Gross.” You both know you don’t mean it.
“Yeah, yeah. I love you too.” He once again bends at the waist to meet your lips. Gross or not he’s glad things aligned to this very moment.
You meet him halfway, sitting up on one arm to brush away his damp bangs. When you pull away you meet his gaze.
“I really, really do fucking love you, Yoichi”.
Yeah, he’s sure he’d meet you in every universe.

Alan Wake 2 Lake House DLC spoilers/review (also spoilers for Control):
Had a lot of fun with this DLC! It’s short (unfortunately expected this), but sweet, although I wish I didn’t watch the trailer for it. It would’ve been amazing experiencing this with no knowledge. As a massive Control fan, I was practically thriving off of all the reading and FBC style. I have some sympathy for fans of Alan Wake who might hate Control, but these games are far more than a crossover by now and moving forward. I can see how this wouldn’t work for people who dislike that.
Personally, Remedy has done well at connecting their stories without it clashing! The AWE dlc for Control was a mixed bag for me, mostly because the story wasn’t really there and the darkness mechanics were bland. This could be because I’m very biased towards Control, but this was a great example of how to merge the settings and traits of both games in an interesting way.
The marital and mad scientist drama was terrible in the best way. I was dying every time one of the Marmonts was “hmmm Wake says we’re going to die horrifically and become monsters, but im personally better than that.”
DR DARLING… <3 He should’ve had more appearances </3
After all the deserved hate directed at AI and producing content rather than art, it was heartwarming to see promotion for Poe. I don’t know the details, but she’s barely been able to release music over the last 20 years (some songs here and there), so having an entire area dedicated to her with links to a (fingers crossed) site about an upcoming Poe project was lovely. Lots of love put towards artists in this.
Ed being there was and thinking he was in an immersive experience was incredibly funny. I’d have to look it up, but was the manuscript page in his room detailing when he was taken HERE and not him dying to taken? Was this DLC happening during the start of aw2 or right before?
I’m in love with Kiran Estevez. She can be judgmental and tries to maintain a level of calm over the situation, but her disgust, fear, humor all shine through in funny ways. Hope that she, along with at least Saga, get to be in Control 2.
Only found this out after checking Reddit (which imo is too harsh over both Night Springs and this DLC), but apparently the Dylan part is skippable. It was SUCH a highlight of this DLC. The shifting environments, the Not-Oldest House, Dylan in the “panopticon” post-Control, etc. was surreal and captivating. Usually with set ups teasers, I don’t particularly care (e.g. the AWE dlc ending was alright!), but man. The way to get it was perfectly strange. Poor Dylan. Just like Control’s “hidden” ending cutscene, this really seems to put Control 2 in the wider NYC.
Having a “person who’s only seen Boss Baby” moment: thought of tma (the podcast) with the tapes, archives, panopticon, all the weird shit. It didn’t influence this game, but I was getting flashbacks to when I listened to it (stopped caring for it, but the first few seasons were fun in a creepypasta way)
I liked the calendar puzzles. I’m not a huge fan of puzzles in games, but these were easy enough to follow without dragging on. however I did spend five minutes confused just because I got Friday and Saturday mixed up :(
The boss fight was easy in story mode lol
Diana brutally killing the taken Jules was one of the only “gross” moments of Remedy’s games and it was great! It’s not much gore, but I’ll take it.
I accidentally pressed the option to instantly destroy (?) the painting :( So im so sorry to Rudolph and I’ll be replaying this dlc soon to see what the other option is.
For my problems, I was sad that the paint monsters were mainly annoying to run from (also they’re cute). I don’t know if it was an issue on my end or a bug, but even once I went to story mode, I still wasn’t finding healing objects until the last fight. The reason I switched to story was only because my low-ish health kept instant killing me by the Painted 😭 Maybe it’s because I haven’t replayed Alan Wake in a while, but this DLC was wildly difficult. If Remedy didn’t add a whole list of assists, I’d be more frustrated, but thankfully it’s there. The map also would keep question marks and loot up even when I interacted.
I prefer the Night Springs DLC, but this was a great look into Estevez, Control, and what art is. Now, Alan Wake 2 is officially done!

Greetings mutual of mine, tis I, completing my duties as a mutual to randomly send you questions :D
I dare you… to rant about a character who deserved better GO
(lets pretend this hasn’t been sitting for two weeks)
So my instinct was to start yapping about my #emotionalsupportwhiteboy Jason Grace but I doubt I can say anything new about him. Or be able to be coherent since all of his lore just flew through the window. Then I thought Will Solace or Nico di Angelo but they are too obvious (since they were literally Rick’s punching bags). But instead I give you Darrel Curtis from The Outsiders and LET ME TELL YOU WHY (SPOILERS FOR THE OUTSIDERS IF ANY OF THE MUTUALS ARE WANTING TO READ THIS INCREDIBLE PHENOMENAL BOOK)
A/N: To make this as fair as possible, I’m ONLY focusing on characterization from the book. Reason being I’ve never seen the movie so I’m not able to average out the three major lores (book, movie, musical.) It’s only fair if I do either the original or all. Not partial lore.
I’m not quite sure if this counts as “deserved better” but it’s still tragic
I first read this book tthan our protagonist Ponyboy Curtis.
At that age, I HATED Darry. I didn’t sympathize with him, I thought he was a terrible person, etc. All of my energy went into crying for Johnny, and deciding that Pony and I were the same person. I didn’t give a shit about Darry’s actions. I thought he deserved what came to him.
But then, in my senior year of highschool (this year, 2024 for those in the future if this post gets resurrected), I picked up the book again, read it three times in four months, annotated it, and watched the musical. As I’m writing this, I’m rereading my annotations from last month.
Now enough with this exposition, let’s get into my rant about Darrel Shaynne Curtis Jr.
***
Darry's gone through a lot in his twenty years, grown up too fast. Sodapop'll never grow up at all. I don't know which way's the best. I'll find out one of these days. (The Outsiders, pg 10)
Darry was one step away from being set for life- he was a Greaser who could get out. He was smart, he had non-Greaser friends; he had a football scholarship and was set for college.
He was either 19 or freshly 20 when BOTH of his parents get killed in an accident leaving two kids under 18. Naturally, being the soul he was, he immediately gave up his dream to keep his hooligan family together. They all knew that if he went to college it would be over for the family. There’s only so much you can do in Poor-ass, bum-fuck Nowhere, Oklahoma. And Darry does it all.
On top of working stupid hours in stupid conditions hauling stupid amounts of roofing, he has to parent a teenager who knows too much for his own good. This book is written in first person, and while Ponyboy defends his every decision, you can tell he doesn’t have the street smarts his brothers grew up with. And you can tell that stresses Darry out even more, even with the amount of times Pony insults/shit talks his brother.
Does Darry deal with this well? Hell no. I’d be surprised if he did. So much stupid in one week can drive a person crazy (believe me, I know.) Now, I don’t condone smacking children for ANY reason, but I think here, Darry was in that brother/father limbo and crossed into brother territory. Like have y’all NOT smacked your siblings? But went royally wrong here is that because he acts so much like a “father-overlord” to Ponyboy so often, Pony couldn’t even compute the fact that Darry could ACTUALLY act like a brother sometimes. In the park with Johnny, he even compares it to Johnny being hit by his father. Apparently being a brother doesn’t describe Darry anymore
The REALLY heartbreaking part is the reunion after ✨The Fire✨. When his “Alpha male, if I don’t feel anything it would be better for all of us” facade shatters and he just KNOWS that he inadvertently causes everything after page 58. That’s another burden that no man should EVER carry.
It took a murder, a fire, a rumble, a death, a suicide, a three-day fever dream, and Soda running away for Ponyboy to finally understand what Darry does to keep him safe and I think that’s the most tragic thing of all.
Am I just talking in circles? Probably. I’m never coherent when talking about my traumatized characters.
As a treat for staying the entire length of this essay/incoherent rant, here are the bones of an Outsiders playlist I’m making.

Audio Drama Sunday - 5th May ✨
There’s something so so satisfying about HFTH being on ep 150, while TSV is on 40 and Travelling Light (TL, if you will) is on 20 . . . the brain is going brrrr.
Here’s what I listened to this week! Spoilers ahead!
👻 @tellnotalespod (S2E9) oh what a beautiful episode 😭I’d like to bestow the highest accolade on Flo’s VA: hearing her voice and immediately casting her in an unwritten audio drama that will likely never be made. I have a theory about why Frank can’t just clear out the warehouse . . . but I really don’t want it to be true.
🌲 @hellofromthehallowoods (150) You can also find me in Camp ‘Hate That Noise’!! Awful. I love this nautical storyline so much. It’s one thing to be told that Buck is now a renowned detective and another to see him in action. Sad that someone had to die but . . . I can’t wait to see the case unfold!! I’ve been trying to wrap my head around Shelby leaving the entire week. Yes, it makes perfect sense from a survival point of view but I don’t think I could have done it.
🦀 @thesiltverses (40) what a good ep!! I’ve been so compromised by Carpenter this season. She sounds so very exhausted, even when she’s not being stalked by her god of death. I’m very concerned about ‘Verity’ who left the minute they arrived… did she recognise them?? Chuck Harm and Val are one of the most unexpected combinations of the year but I’m here for it. It is VERY interesting that Val is now suffering post-miracle. Is this a ‘gods need to feed’ situation or something else entirely. Working with God-killers worked so well for the government last time, so it’ll no doubt be over for her in no time . . .
Travelling Light @monstrousproductions (20) I can’t tell you how delightful it is that this show comes out on Friday and is exactly the length of my average cycle home!! It’s such a soothing way to start the weekend! There were so many banging lines in this ep, I love a spooky friend!
🏛 @the-mistholme-museum (CONCLUSIVE) You heard it on Mistholme first! People from Yorkshire (me) have the best voices. Like honey, chocolate and coffee all at once - so people say. I can’t believe this is the penultimate episode 😭
🖥️ The Magnus Protocol (14) snake friends! How delightful!! I feel a little guilty at how entertaining Alice’s jealousy is. I feel so bad for her, but the office drama is too hard to resist.
🍎 @notquitedeadpod (XXXVII) my heart!! 💔 I had to laugh at Neige’s disdain for Alfie’s more intimate recordings right before expounding on his own experiences . . . including with their shared boyfriend! It’s a little petty. I love it. And, god, can we talk about this last line? ‘And when you call, I will come back to you because you have begun to feel like home.’ HELLO? Christ.
🌞 Small Victories by @wgc-productions (2.1) How many cosmic interventions will it take for Marisol not to make cosmically bad choices? I don’t know! I’m keeping a close eye on Summer . . .
🧋 @hinaypod (3-4) Honestly, kind of kudos to Laura because if I went through what she did I would simply never touch an antique again… I really love Donner and Murphy’s rapport and how they recognise and respect Mari’s skills!
Hope everyone has a lovely week! 🥰
I'd also like to highlight that the creators of one of my fave shows, Moonbase Theta, Out (@monkeymanproductions) , are crowdfunding for their next one! Throw some 💸 at these lovely creatives!!

“You don’t dance or you can’t dance?” you challenged him with a light chuckle, pressing your body against his, closing the small space between you. “Maybe a mixture of both?” you added, earning an eye roll from him.
It was over. The battle was over. The reign of terror that lasted 20 years had finally ended. The people of Wano were free from the brutal reins of Kurozumi Orochi, of the Beast Pirates, of Kaido. To conclude the dark era finally coming to its end and start a new era, the people of Wano all across the nation held a banquet.
Away from the festivities, on top of the hill, looking out on the banquet taking place in the Flower Capital, stood you and Law. It was nice to see everyone happy, laughing with each other, and dancing. It was so lively. But it had been so long since you had gotten to spend any alone time with Law since arriving in Wano.
You took his hand into yours, slipping away from the banquet together. You found this spot before the raid, being able to see all the beauty of the Flower Capital. In it, you found a moment of peace through all of the turmoil, a chance to finally slow down and breathe, a chance to look back on the life you’ve led up until this point. None of which you found yourself regretting. And if you had to do it all over again, you would a million times over.
When it was all over, said and done, you had promised to come back to this very spot before you’d left this island with your crew. And now you were able to share this spot with the man you loved.
It felt good to be back in his arms. But that didn’t stop you from thinking about what happens after the banquet when you and Law have to separate. Your contented smile wavered, as your head lowered. You tried to hide your face in his chest.
He noticed, and he knew where your mind had drifted off to. The thought of being separated for god knows how long, played through his mind repeatedly.
“You’re thinking about it again, aren’t you?” He asked, his hand moving up to the small of your back.
“It’s kind of hard not to. I’ve gotten so used to you being there when I wake up. And now I have no clue when I’ll even be able to see you again,” You admitted.
With his free hand, he grabbed his hat, placing it on your head. You picked your head up, looking into his golden eyes that you had fallen in love with over the course of these past few months. His golden eyes that you continue to fall in love with over and over again with every loving gaze. “If I could give you an answer, I would. I wish I knew myself. I’d tell you not to worry, but it would make me a hypocrite because I’m worried myself. Never thought I’d be saying that aloud.”
“There’s a first time for everything,” You noted with a smile. He couldn’t stop that small smile that formed his features. He never really noticed how much more he smiled when he was around you. Not until he was being teased left and right for it, whether it was by you or his crew.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, “We can be worried together. I may from time to time call you for hours on end because I miss you.”
“I wouldn’t mind hearing your voice. It’s better than listening to Penguin and Shachi arguing all the time,” He mentioned, earning a laugh from you.
“But you love them.”
“Unfortunately, I do.”
It felt amazing to just talk and laugh with him, to see how he’s truly lightened up. His claims of only being interested in you due to your position in the Straw Hats as well as your devil fruit were proven to be false. Neither of those aspects was what truly drew him to you. He wasn’t really sure himself what it was either.
You were just...you. It was the best way he could explain it. Though he was still learning to say that part out loud, he loved every part of you. He couldn’t even begin to tell you what it was that made him face first in love with you. There was so much he wanted to say, but the words available to him were just not enough to describe it.
Being with you felt like home. He felt a sense of safety as he inhaled your perfume when he hugged you, when he kissed you, and when you were asleep next to him. Even now at this moment, as he holds you close, unsure of if he even wants to let you go. He feels at ease, something he hasn’t felt in so long.
You capture his lips in a loving kiss, dropping your hands from around his neck, snaking under the fabric of his shirt, and feeling his hot skin underneath the tips of your fingertips. His calloused hands cradled your face gently, for only a brief moment, pulling away from your lips, earning a pout from you.
His body was tensed, eyes piercing as he glared to the left. You turned your head in the same direction feeling a sense of familiarity, as well as an intense aura. Someone was coming, and there were furious.
Appearing out of the shadows was a blond with a smile, “( y/n )! There you are! I was looking everywhere for you!” His smile had disappeared, being replaced with a look of annoyance as he made eye contact with the company you had found yourself entangled with. The blond looked Law up and down, “Law...”
“Blackleg-ya...” Law scoffed, rolling his eyes.
You untangled yourself from your lover. “Sanji, what are you doing here?”
As the blond looked at you again, his smile reappeared, “I couldn’t find you at the banquet. And I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
“How thoughtful. I’m okay!”
“Why wouldn’t she be?” Law grumbled under his breath, earning a glare from the cook. If looks could kill, they’d be in a death battle.
To say Sanji had a soft spot for you was an understatement. You were the little sister he never knew he needed. Since you had joined the Straw Hats, he made a promise to himself, he’d do anything to see you always smiling, to see you always happy.
But did you have to fall for the man whose epithet is Surgeon of Death?
Law was the walking personification of the man he never wanted you to be around.
When he had overheard you, rather eavesdropping on the three of you, gushing to Nami and Robin about your new boyfriend he had nearly fainted. He couldn’t believe his ears. His lovely, too good for this world, little sister who he adored, dating Law of all people?! The very same man who swore when the alliance dissolved, he would go back to being an enemy of the Straw Hats, now cuddled up with you.
He could hardly hear how overdramatic he was being from Nami, he was too busy being dramatic.
Every time you tried to defend your boyfriend, he’d never listen. It just resulted in the two of you talking over each other, neither of you being heard. You adored Sanji, and you appreciated him being protective and wanting the best for you.
But sometimes you just wished he’d shut up and listen, rather than trying to dictate your life! People dictating your life was the reason you were with the Straw Hats in the first place, why you ran away from the place you used to call home.
Sanji cleared his throat, “Law, can I talk to you for a moment?” Despite it being phrased as a question, it wasn’t in the slightest. “Alone. You know, man to man,” He clarified. By the look on his face, there was nothing you could say that would have persuaded him from the obviously terrible idea of leaving the two of them alone together. The red flags were now flashing red lights going off in your head.
Looking back to your boyfriend, he didn’t seem phased in the slightest, as if he was expecting whatever was to come. “Go have fun, it won’t take long, will it?”
“Of course not. I’ll return him back to you in one piece.” Sanji chimed in. Something about the way he said it, made you doubt it even more. “Alright, alright. Well when you’re finished, come and find me, yeah?”
“Not like there’s anyone else I want to see.” You press a kiss on his cheek, bidding the two men your goodbyes, returning to the festivities in the Flower Capital.
Law’s eyes had followed you until you were out of sight. How he hated to see you go but loved to watch you leave.
“Don’t look at her like that, you bastard.”
“Like what?”
“You know exactly what I’m talking about. What are your intentions with ( y/n )? What the hell are you planning? Are you using her as a ploy to take all of us down? I know what pirates like you think when you see women like her” Sanji accused.
Law rolled his eyes, “The pot calling the kettle black.”
“WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?!”
The Surgeon of Death continued, “Look Blackleg-ya, I’m not going to have this conversation with you, again. I owe you no explanation for my relationship with ( y/n ). Stay out of it.”
“If she didn’t like you so much, I’d choke the life out of you,” The cook threatened under his breath, his fingers twitching at his sides.
“As if I’d even let you let you get that close,” Law spat back.
“( y/n ) used to be a princess, you know?”
“Didn’t ask.”
“She’s too good for you!”
The surgeon simply shrugged, completely uninterested in the conversation.
“I’LL KILL YOU!”
Down in the Flower Capital, you found yourself nursing a drink that Nami gave you. You kept looking back toward the hill, wondering what was taking Law and Sanji so long. The orange-haired woman nudged your shoulder, grabbing your attention, “You okay?”
“Yeah, just...wondering what’s taking them so long.”
Your question was immediately answered, as you could hear the sheathing of a sword from meters aware and the sound of yelling over the loud music. An annoyed sigh left your lips. You shotgunned the rest of your drink, handing the empty glass to Nami.
“Gonna need another one of those when I get back from stopping these idiots from tearing each others’ throats out.”
“Good luck, babes.”
“I’ll need it.”

I actually have a lot to say about this CD but I also have to hold back on a lot because I’m working on something else, and I’d rather save my thoughts for that. BTW my thoughts here are kind of unpolished.
Spoilers ahead for Momochi’s Headliner CD (not the Veronica side).
Track 3 Days
At the end of this track kano brings up Momochi’s birthday because of the profile update for Veronica. Momochi tells her that September 20 is the birthday of “Momochi from Veronica,” not him. And his actual birthday is still about six months away. Kano keeps talking about the birth date and he gets upset because it seems like she cares more about Veronica and “Momochi from Veronica” than him. So he has her say his actual birthday and when she does he tells her, "that's right. That day that you know is the birthday of the me in front of you. Veronica's momochi is not me. I'm never putting on that act ever again. that new song that you've been so excited for is never releasing. no matter how long you wait or look forward to it, veronica's momochi is nowhere in this world. I'm just... me. Veronica is over now." (ty mmc-veronica for letting me add ur tl of what mmc says!)
Track 4 長雨
Kano wakes up in the middle of the night and goes to the balcony and sees Momochi crying. Momochi denies that he’s crying and says it’s just the rain. But he explains that he’s out there because he had a bad dream. This was a dream he used to have every day when he was younger, and he hadn’t gotten it in years, so he thought it was finally over. But it continues to haunt him even now. It’s then revealed that Momochi has a younger (half) brother who was spoiled by his family. Here it’s also revealed that kano and Momochi lived near each other, so she must be aware that his younger brother was spoiled. Momochi makes it clear here that he hates his younger brother, and he doesn’t really understand why his younger brother is so attached to him and looks up to him when Momochi was just randomly introduced one day as his older brother. His younger brother started a band in their hometown, and he told Momochi about it. Momochi comments that to him, music is suffocating, but his younger brother sees it as some kind of joke. He plays like 2 seconds of his brother’s song before stopping it. Momochi tells kano that he’ll quit music because he would rather die than do the same thing his brother does. He also tells kano that his brother, Veronica and even her are just his way of killing time. Kano tells Momochi to sing. He refuses, so instead, she starts singing. He calls her singing bad and tells her to stop and then he sings instead. When he’s done singing, he says that he’ll keep doing music and stay in Veronica, but just until he finds something more pleasing than singing. He then grabs kano and holds her against the railing of the balcony. He tells her she has to stay by his side and to keep listening to his singing as a way of holding herself responsible. It starts raining again and despite Momochi holding her against the railing, she’s smiling and happy. Track ends with Momochi telling her to cling to him and they kiss.
Track 5 winding road
While at a restaurant with kano, the table next to them is celebrating a birthday, which annoys Momochi since he hates his birthday and just wants to forget it. Then, as a reward for being good, Momochi decides to tell kano what his dream was. He tells her that he used to dream of it every day in high school, and it was him as a child sitting alone in the corner of a mold-smelling room, hugging his knees and waiting for his mom to come back on his birthday. That was the entire dream and Momochi hates that dream because it is just a reminder of the promise his mom made. She promised him that she would celebrate his birthday, but she never did, despite him being her only son and only family. He kept believing that promise year after year, even though it never came true until she finally just disappeared for good. He then reveals that the day his mom left him is the same day as kano’s birthday. Kano says that his profile is just full of lies then. But Momochi says that it isn’t because Momochi’s Veronica did start on September 20th and that he hates the fake act he puts on, which is why his profile says the thing he dislikes is himself. Momochi feels like kano is pitying him for living this way, but he tells her that it was his decision to put on the mask of being a good person and that he’s living in the moment. And that he’ll keep on living doing whatever he wants. The CD ends with him blocking his younger brother’s number and telling kano that she should keep doing her best to not be abandoned by him.
I was very scared of this CD. After what happened on Judah’s CD (spoilers for his cd), with the writers just introducing the fact that before judahkano, there was someone else important in Judah’s life. I know it made a lot of warms upset because it wasn’t clear whether this special person was an ex-girlfriend or just a friend… And apparently in this CD, judahkano can suddenly read sheet music/understand music production despite that never being mentioned before? And I’ve seen other people comment on how it feels weird that only now are some of the girlfriends getting backstories… But I did have some hope because the day Momochi’s CD was released I read over some reviews from Japanese fans, and it didn’t seem as bad as I thought it would be. Of course, my expectations for this CD have been lowered, but I did go into it hopefully based on the reviews I read.
Honestly, I don’t HATE the way this CD played out but I also don't love it and without fail this my least favorite CD. I am conflicted about how I feel about Momochi having a younger brother. It just goes against the way I thought Momochi’s family was structured. But when I really think about it, the inclusion of a younger brother does actually answer one huge question I had with Momochi’s Evolve CD. In that CD he gets a call from a family member that his dad had died, and I always wondered WHO was calling him. Based on this reveal, I’m pretty sure it was his younger brother who called him. This new information and the fact that his mother never celebrated his birthday is making me rethink the way I view Momochi’s childhood in general. But like I said in the beginning, I’m not going to go in depth on that right now, since I’m working on something else that will address how I feel. That aside, this CD really isn’t too far off from how Momochi usually acts but at the same time it does feel off...It's hard to fully explain in words. The way kano acts is also off… Suddenly she’s so obsessed with Veronica, which is just kind of strange to me. She’s always been invested in Veronica, but on this CD, she does seem really adamant about bringing up Veronica. It’s weird. She's literally never brought up before how she's bothered by the fact that Veronica's Momochi is different from the real Momochi but here she's extremely focused on Veronica and how Momochi put a fake birthday on his profile. It's also extremely strange how she just starts singing to try and convince Momochi to keep making music. It is like her to want Momochi to keep singing but the way the writers went about her doing it is just weird. She has literally never sang before when Momochi said he would leave Veronica but here she just randomly sings?? There was a better way to go about her convincing Momochi to keep making music. I am very relieved that this CD didn’t go in depth with how Momochi and kano met. I’m satisfied enough knowing they lived close to each other and that they’re dating now. I don’t need to know more than that. I do like the fact that the day Momochi’s mom died is the same day as kano’s birthday. It’s oddly satisfying to me! And I didn’t write about it here but I did really enjoy the donut scene in the third track!
But overall I just don't really understand why this drama CD was made. Unlimited ended things very nicely and it felt like the ending point... While this CD wasn't the worst thing they could've done with Momochi's character, I just wish they had left it at that instead of introducing new people into his life and things like that.

—⚠️SPOILERS FOR THE LEAKED CLONE HIGH EPISODE!!! ⚠️—
Okay time to rant about the Clone high episode but in a way some of y’all aren’t expecting. This is just me but some people are painting the leaked new episode of Clone High to be WAAAY worse than it actually is. Like…good god some of y’all are overreacting, I’ve even seen people compare it to freaking Velma like GOD no. While I personally enjoyed the episode, I can see why people may not like it. A lot of people are bummed about Ghandi, the cancel culture stuff, and maybe the comedy, though for the comedy it’s mostly a hit or miss, but for me it was a hit. As for the Cancel culture stuff, it didn’t piss me off like a lot of people are because I honestly expected this. Clone high has always been known to poke fun at whatever was going on in the world at the time, so like…yeah of course they’d do an episode regarding that, and I personally liked the idea of a fish out of water concept since the clones have been frozen for 20 years. Some people were saying that Abe felt out of character and OOC, but honestly? Abe’s character has always been that he’s a stubborn loser who constantly gets into trouble, so him getting cancelled and fucking up everything he’s saying felt in character for me, it was one of the reasons I liked it so much because everyone felt in character, even if you could argue it wasn’t as good. I will say that Abe saying slurs felt incredibly forced to fit the plot, but he’s still a loser like he was in the original so I can’t be mad about it yet. I certainly wouldn’t call the episode perfect, but I overall enjoyed it.
The only two issues I had was Joan and JFK. These personal issues was more of a nitpick, but I was expecting…I dunno, more out them? Don’t get me wrong, I was a huge shipper of the two and I’m happy they’re together, but at the same time I find it weird that they’re both….okay with being a couple. I was surprised that Joan was 100% on board, I’d predicted that she would act like the night they spent together was a “one time thing” and that she needed to figure things out. The beginning of the episode even hints at the drama, but there was really no drama around the love triangle at all, aside from Abe moping. It just…felt like kind of a let down, but I think that’s just me because I was expecting more or something really big to kick off immediately. Joan as a whole however in this episode felt …..off to me, but I can’t really explain it. She just felt….off, like kinda out of character? I dunno I was expecting her to be against the popular kids since her character in the show was more being on “the good side” of things, like I would think she would go “I don’t need to be popular”- but she wasn’t bad or anything. I was always expecting her to be annoyed by JFK’s entire vulgar personality but she seemed to have no mind. As for JFK himself, I was surprised he wanted Joan to be his girlfriend, since he was known for being the ultimate fuck boy, going from one woman to the next. I had really hoped that their relationship would be more of a slow burn, rather than them getting together immediately in the very first episode, since JFK still has a lot to learn about relationships. The scene they shared outside of the prom to me opened a new door for a good character arc and relationship exploration, it was the scene that made me ship them, because there was so much potential for them to become a really good couple, so now that they just start off immediately being one, it felt VERY underwhelming to me. However, this is still the first episode, so for now I’ll wait to see what the writers do with these two. I could care less about Abe moping because all my homies hate Abe, but not in a bad way per say, to me, he’s enjoyable to watch, but we acknowledge that he’s a loser lol.
Meanwhile, Scudworth is the same, he’s hilarious as always and I get a kick out of watching him, and introducing a female boss who he has fallen in love with solely because she’s trying to kill him is funny to me. I have no idea if she’ll legitimately be a love interest or not, again we’ll have to see, but I will say that these new board of shadowy figures ain’t it. I miss the old iconic guys, particularly the main one with the soothing voice because he was iconic and funny. I guess it makes sense on why Scudworth didn’t unfreeze them since they had planned to kill him and take the clones away, but I do miss them and it kinda is a downgrade. Then there’s Ghandi, who we all miss but for the people demanding that he be brought back and that the show isn’t the same without him, y’all need to chill because I highly doubt this is in the creators control. I’m pretty sure if it was, Ghandi would be in the show, but they were kinda forced to take him out due to the controversy, so despite me missing him, I can see why it had to be done, and I don’t blame the show itself. As for the new clones and characters, I’ll have to get used to them and warm up to them, but I certainly wouldn’t call any of them “bad”. Again, this is merely the first episode, and unlike the majority of people on twitter right now, I want to give the show a chance and see how this all plays out until I say it’s “god awful” or act like it’s the worst thing in the world. I will say this however, to the people complaining about the gore and even the comedy style, do y’all know what show you’re watching? Like…this is Clone HIGH lol, I expected most of this to happen since I saw the original show, so I will be honest and say I don’t 100% know why everyone is so pressed about it. I get that people are maybe bummed about the whole “cancel culture” thing since nobody likes that, so I can see why but like I said, this is what Clone High is known for so I wasn’t taken aback.
With all that said, I’m 100% confident about the show and have high positive hopes for it. To me, the show hasn’t changed at all, the spirit of the original is still there, the characters for the most part still feel the same, and so does the humor. I think it’s way too early (LITERALLY since this got leaked) to say that the show shouldn’t have been rebooted or the show in general isn’t good and will be a lost cause. For now I think we’re off to a pretty okay start, and I’ll have to see more in the future to see where things go before I can say my full opinions on wether I think it’s good or not. Keep in mind these are all MY personal opinions on the show so far. Fill free to disagree with me. We all need to keep in mind that there’s always room for improvement however, because I will admit that I think it’s unfair that a lot of people are already saying the show is going to suck. We have no idea yet and we’ll just have to wait and see. Thank you for reading, and I personally can’t wait to see more Clone High!

You Will Go Nowhere Else
I never planned for this to be so long, but I love Asmodeus sm...expect nothing less from me.
Pairing: gn!reader x Asmodeus; Leviathan makes an active appearance, but isn't the focus of this fic (romantic feelings are heavily implied, but a relationship has not been established...yet)
TW: Cyberbullying, Slutshaming, Cursing, Alcohol use (Asmodeus is an emotional drinker), Suggestive (Its Asmodeus), unspecific yet hinted spoiler for those who haven’t reached level 20, Asmodeus (and all demons) can be possessive, and I’m trying to figure out demon mannerisms I’d like to establish so bear with me on this awkward journey
Word Count: ~4,700
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
So-called "weak" human subduing the Devildom's demon lords? It's more likely thank you think! WATCH OUT... YOU COULD BE NEXT!
Scoffing to yourself, you click off the Dreaddit thread to scroll through whatever else you could find under the "d/human" tag. You expected to make up some of the content, given that you and Solomon were quite literally the only two human exchange students in all nine circles. Yet, it wasn't any less unnerving that most of the top posts seemed to circulate around your "mysterious relationship" with the brothers.
At some level, you understood their fascination and hesitation with you. Your lone quest to free Belphegor during your first year was essentially the equivalent of what would happen if a lone demon managed to ensnare some of the Earth's top leaders under their command. You just wished they didn't have to be so mean about it.
This budding Dreaddit addiction of yours had started the evening prior, courtesy of Leviathan.
"ROFL, what an idiot!"
You two spent a good chunk of the night lounging on his extra-large beanbag chair, surfing Dreaddit posts under "d/R.A.D. memes" on his premium account. Leviathan had excitedly showed you his avatar's exclusive Ruri-chan t-shirt, emphasizing that 9.99 grimm a month was a necessary sacrifice for otakus everywhere, or at least those truly passionate about their fandoms. As his loyal Henry, you'd been privy to sensitive information regarding his identity as both creator and moderator of both the "d/TSLMerch" and "d/RuriChanUpd8s" forums.
"Levi," you chastise, “leave Mammon alone. This is already embarrassing enough."
A user by the name xXLuciferz_LegionzXx had uploaded footage of the second eldest being chased through the school halls by Cerberus.
"I-it's his own fault!" Levi defended. "He shouldn't have tried running off with the Council's debit card."
And try he did.
You watched as the video replayed from the beginning. The shaky scene followed Mammon as he rounded the corner in front of Potions Lab 3 with Cerberus hot on his tail. Looking backwards as he sprinted through the crowd of students, he failed to notice Lucifer already blocking the doors at end of the hall.
You cringed as the familiar "MAAAAAMOOONN" blew through the speakers.
Realizing his fuck up, Mammon skidded to a near-stop to pivot into the hall just before Lucifer. But it was too late. Cerberus, determined to catch the focus of his master's ire, latched onto his pantleg, and quickly pulled him back.
Except, only Mammon's pants went with him.
The video ended with the poor demon being pantsed as Lucifer menacingly appeared before the videographer.
After viewing it for the fifth time, you made a silent promise to treat Mammon to some lunch and TLC time this upcoming weekend.
"Levi. Please?" You sighed and pouted your lip a bit for good measure.
"F-fine, if it's that important to you." Flustered, he clicked off the video and flagged it for inappropriate content before he selected the home page.
"Thank you," you leaned your head on his shoulder, "I appreciate it."
A small squeak left Leviathan as he ducked his head further into his hoodie and kept scrolling.
"Oh? Levi, what's that one say?"
On the screen was a picture of you and Satan sitting together in the library. The time stamp confirmed it must have been taken this past Tuesday when Satan helped you review basic Enochian phrases. He'd recommended taking the language for your free elective this semester and offered to serve as your tutor.
Your brows furrowed as you looked at the post's heading.
"...who do they think they are?" You murmured. "What do they mean by that?"
You hadn't gotten any further as Leviathan quickly shut his laptop.
"Hey, I forgot I bought a new co-op farming-dungeon crawler game I thought you would like. Let's check it out!"
Without warning, he had popped up from the beanbag and headed straight towards his console to set up the controllers.
You gasp sharply as you finally reach the exact post Leviathan had hidden from you last night. Visibly uncomfortable with discussing how you ended up on the top page of Dreaddit, you didn't push him for more details. His diversion occupied you for some time as you kicked slime monster ass and planted dewdrop berries, but the curiosity lingered in the back of your mind throughout the school day.
After dinner and watching an episode of "One Day I Woke Up Reborn as An Oven: One Piping Hot Pie of Existentialism Coming Up!" with Leviathan, you'd returned to your room and set up a basic Dreaddit account. He wasn't kidding, the ads were no joke. Every two to three posts you clicked on led to an ad-break or brand deal, sometimes featuring even Asmodeus or Mammon as a model.
"Ok yea, maybe I'll look into getting premium."
You chuckle to yourself as an ad for DevilGlam Lip Balm in the shade RedRose pops up for the third time and wonder if Asmodeus got to take samples home from the shoot. Because if so-
"I'm definitely gonna ask to borrow it." It was pretty cute.
Exiting out of the ad, you save the picture of you and Satan. Despite the fact that it definitely wasn't meant to be seen by you, the intimacy layered within the shot warmed your heart. Focused on the heading, you had missed the adoring smile curled on his lips as you fumbled through past and present conjugation.
However, you don't miss that this was posted under the "d/Sa10Stans" tag. A peek at the authors username, SatansS0ulmate, is warning enough that you are entering dangerous territory. But the temptation is too great.
You scroll through the comments.
HellsKitchenette: There the human goes again, running through the boys each week like a common whore. I've caught them just begging for attention, it’s pathetic.
RADRum: UGH, I have them in seductive speechcraft, and they're just so annoying!! If you can manage a pact with nearly all of the fucking student council, you can figure classwork out for yourself, slut.
You click on the thread you see forming with over 300 replies and at least 150 upvotes.
DearDeerLights: Wait, what do you mean nearly all the student council?!?!?!
HellsKitchenette: Oh, you poor thing. You didn't know? They've managed to trap our boys, all seven of them.
GroundGossamberry: ACK! You guys scared me, I thought they had gotten to Barbatos or something! But seriously, how pathetic can they be... like having to be coddled in public? Not me, I'd rather drop dead <3
Solomonssock: I see I'm outnumbered, but isn't this a good thing? The whole point of the program is that the human is supposed to study with us. And the lords are their host-family. I don't see anyone in the comments giving Solomon such harsh treatment.
RADRum: At least Solomon carries his weight around. Like come on, after a fucking year of being here if you can't go out by yourself then don't come out at all is all I'm saying.
GroundGossamberry: Yeah...I wouldn't fuck with Solomon; I've seen him in potions. He's brewing liquid death.
HellsKitchenette: Solomon's strength and wit makes him increasingly more bearable, and I admit, dashing. This one...well, there's simply nothing special about them. Anyone who witnessed Lord Leviathan's TSL Quiz last year can attest to the fact that they were all coerced into these contracts. Honestly, the human should be ashamed.
You stop there, your throat constricting in response to your rising panic.
"...oh fuck." Hearing the wobble in your own voice, you swallow thickly and sit up from your bed. Exiting out of Dreaddit, you hurriedly delete the app and set your DDD face down on your bed, tripping over your fallen sheets as you scurry out of your room. You need water, or anything really, to stop you before you start spiraling.
You make the short trip to the kitchen and pour yourself a glass with shaky hands.
It doesn't take a genius to infer that you wouldn't be the most popular person in all the Devildom, but the pure vitriol of the subdreaddit had been a higher dose than you anticipated. Truthfully, the focus on you was the least of your worries.
You shotgun the glass, the cool liquid gliding down your throat and easing the tension that had started to build.
You admit you and the brothers still hadn't fully sorted through the emotional muck that releasing Belphegor had unleashed. You felt assured that your pact with Lucifer was mutual, but Leviathan, Mammon, and the others took precedence in your mind. Did they really feel that way?
Trapped?
The pit in your stomach, persistent and pernicious, prevents you from returning to your room to wallow in your worries. Instead, you pass through the now empty dining hall and open the door to the music room.
The grandiosity of the room isn't lost on you. The gold detailing, polished to perfection, reflects your shaken image. You take up so little of the room, and yet you are suffocated by it.
Shuffling over to the piano, you drag your hands softly over the keys, each muffled note bouncing around the room in short bursts. For a minute or two, you loom over the instrument, dragging out each note, trying to sort a melody from the emotional medley consuming you.
For the outcomes that had transpired the year prior, you were certain you had no regrets. The hatchets had long been buried - at least that's what you led yourself to believe, wrapped up in the arms, and roped into the plans, of your lords once more. The sacrifices and secrets of the past were all to mend a family in danger of falling apart. And yet...
You crash your fist onto the keys, rolling your knuckles into a harsh trill.
The nagging guilt you had thought to have laid to rest creeps up again, coiling tightly around your heart. Its weight drags you forward until your forehead presses against the dark wood. It cools your skin, flushed from the few tears you'd allowed to fall.
You had been reckless. Dived into matters that long existed before you ever did, took the mantle of master of the seven lords, and yes, deceived them to do so. The many times they have attempted to wrong you in the past is not lost on you. But, in the end they are demons, and you are no devil.
You strain to lift your head from the wood and turn to face the mirror beside you. You scoff at your own pitiful appearance. Surely, Dreaddit would have a field day if they could pick you apart now, crying over the grief of your own guilt. Without your lords, you know, you are weak. What good is unbridled power without belief in oneself? You stand proud in a world you were not born to wander because of their faith in you, your dear seven pillars. The thought that you have wronged them wounds you deeply. If they ever came to ha-
Abruptly, you slap your cheeks against your cheeks and stand up from the piano bench. It would be unfair, in the face of your regrets to be so bold as to assume their feelings. Regardless of the past, they have taken you in with open arms, adopting you as part of their family. You are here now, with room and board because of their desire for your return and continued stay.
After a deep breath, you pad over to the large windows stretched across the back of the room. You take in the foliage that surrounds the manor, and chuckle to yourself when your gaze happens upon Cerberus taking Belphegor for a walk. You are so happy, that he is here and whole, that their family is here and whole. You are so happy, yet feel so terribly guilty that you sob deeply into your hands.
You startle as the door to the music room is thrust open.
"Darling, are you in h-", Asmodeus stands in the doorway. Even with his hair in slight disarray, he is gorgeous. The panic in his voice, in his eyes, tapers off as he takes you in. In its stead, bleeds in worry.
"Oh, dear." Softly, he shuts the door behind himself.
Desperately, you wipe at your eyes. It's no use, the puffiness and ragged breath would quickly reveal your miserable state to any being. But you try, and try, and try.
He emerges before you, but still, you hide your face in your hands. Asmodeus's own hands reach for your arms first, but only his fingertips graze you as they test how you respond to his touch. You freeze, but don't step back. The thought of rejecting his touch, even when you feel so unworthy, is agonizing.
"I had wondered where you'd wandered off to." His hands move downward, fingers coming to dance across the expanse of your waist.
Knowing you cannot hide forever; you sniffle and rub at your eyes one last time. You're not ready to meet his eyes, so you don't. You occupy yourself with his hair, hands coming up to push back the soft strands that had fallen out of their usual place. You two stand like that for a moment: the moon casting an ethereal glow on his champagne hair as your fingers coil into its thickness to ground yourself.
The moment cannot last forever.
Fingertips press against your jaw, gently guiding you to face him. You want to run and hide, not bare to him this weakness. Not in the music room, and especially not on a Friday night. Or was it Saturday morning by now? You haven't a clue how much time has passed. Yet, you stay, drowning in pools of light orange that plead for your attention.
"I called, several times might I add, but you didn't answer!" With the dramatic flourish you've come to adore, he sighs and blows away the fringe that has fallen into his face from your ministrations. You try to bow your head, avoid his disappointed gaze, but he holds you firmly in place. His face inches closer, you two nose to nose as he whispers against your lips, "I was soooo worried."
The faint whiff of demonus on his breath lets you know Asmodeus had gone drinking after dinner tonight.
"I went to your room as soon as I got home, but you weren't there." You reach up and press your hand against the one he leaves curled around your jaw.
"Mo," Your heart clenches as tears begin prickling at his eyes. An uneasy and desperate expression you haven't seen since that time overcomes him.
"You left your door open", his cheek presses into your other palm as it moves to cup his cheek, "your sheets were on the floor and your DDD was just there on the bed. Levi said he hadn't seen you since after dinner-" His own sniffle interrupts him, and although you feel you haven't the right, you unfurl his hand from your jaw to press a grinning kiss into his palm.
Your Asmodeus, such an emotional drunk.
"I'm ok." you whisper against his skin. The pout he forms cues you in on the fact that he heavily doubts that statement. His free hand trails up from your waist to trace the tear stains covering your cheeks. You can feel yourself tremble and will yourself to remain strong for the both of you right now.
You are not the only one laid bare tonight.
"Please, don't leave us,” his head lolls forward to rest on your shoulder with ease. You sigh, threading your fingers through his hair in soothing motions.
"MC," he whines into the junction of your neck and shoulder, "I can't lose you again."
"Mo," you gather him into your arms as much as you can, hushing him tenderly as another whine escapes him, "Asmodeus, I'm here."
His arms wrap tight around your waist, pulling you flush against him as he mumbles, "MC, promise...no. Pinky promise me you won't go! That you'll stay here forever with me." He rocks against you, swaying you both side-to-side.
Forever?
"A-are you sure-," he attempts to pull back from you, a noise of protest escaping him at your lack of immediate reassurance, but he quiets as your hold on him tightens, "are you really sure that's fine? Could you bear me forever, despite everything?"
You realize as his hands smooth themselves up and down your sides, that you were already shaking.
You know these worries have no place here. This should be a conversation when emotion has not fully overcome the both of you. But nothing is perfect, and nothing is planned when it comes to him or any of his brothers.
"...bear you? You think you're a burden upon me?" Asmodeus's wounded tone affects you more than you care to admit. It strips you of the willpower to stop him as he pulls back from you a second time.
You try to stutter out a response, but you can't deny it. Asmodeus cocks a hip, expecting a response, but you look away from him. How selfish you are, you think, to have once again made the matter about you. That train of thought doesn't last for long, however. You quickly whip your head back up to face him as an unmistakable oppressive force creeps over the music room and caresses your spine. All at once, discord strikes as random notes are ripped from each instrument.
"Sweetheart~"
Asmodeus is smiling, but dread washes over you as his glamour begins to shimmer and shift.
"Come on, don't ignore me! Who put such a silly thought in your pretty little head?"
His true form pulsates beneath, ready to burst in response to his building annoyance. Glimpses of his wings, wound tight as they flicker back and forth reveals his worry. This display isn't to intimidate you and now would be a good time to say something to appease the demon. But it's embarrassing to admit to the fifth born that complete and utter strangers, demons whose opinions shouldn't matter when you have his attention, have turned your thoughts to the worst.
"Hmm, should I go have a chat with Levi?"
"N-no! It has nothing to do with him."
"No?" Asmodeus's form seems to settle as you finally respond. Only brief flickers occur as he moves past you, sitting on one of the chairs placed in front of the window.
"Then, why is my precious little human in tears?"
You take in a deep breath. He will not let this go, and you are too tired to form a believable excuse.
"I'm just overthinking, Mo. Really, I'm going to be ok."
"Ah," Asmodeus's eyes crinkle softly as he catches the weakness in your statement, "but you aren't ok now." He motions for you to join him on his lap, but instead you take the seat beside him, leaving the table as a barrier between you two.
He hums to himself, and before you can register it, he sits himself on your lap and threads his fingers through your hair. Replicating, you realize after a long stretch of silence, the pattern you had used on him just minutes before.
"Don't hide your lovely face from me," he whispers against your ear, fingers curling around your jaw again, encouraging you to face him. When your eyes meet, his soften.
"What is it?"
"I.." You begin, but he stops you, clicking his tongue as your gaze starts to trail away from him.
"Mm-mm," when your eyes are firmly focused on him and him alone, he lets out a light purr that rumbles against your shoulder, "there we go, eyes on me."
"Mo, are you really ok with things as they are?"
"Well," he grins at you, shimmying in your lap, "this view is fine for now. But later I'd rather admire you from my bed."
You scoff at his attempt to lighten the mood when he knows you are being serious, but feel your cheeks flush, nonetheless.
"You know that's not what I meant."
"Then what do you mean, darling?" You gulp as his pupils begin to constrict into sharp slits.
"You aren't implying that I'm unsatisfied with you or our current standing, right?" To any untrained ear, his playful lilt suggests a question. However, Asmodeus's tightening grip on you solidifies it as an accusation.
"No, no," he lets out a sickeningly sweet coo, "certainly you understand that your place is beside, over, or under me."
As you sit stunned by the possessiveness that floods his tone, he presses a kiss on the corner of your mouth.
"And you will go nowhere else."
"I-I-" Of all the brothers, Asmodeus had teased you the most with being something more than whatever this situationship was. But how does anyone respond to such a forward declaration - from the Avatar of Lust, no less?
"Oh, sweetheart," Asmodeus adjusts his grip to delicately cup your face with two hands, cooing at you as you tremble more under his touch, "my favorite human is never a burden. Hmm, if you keep having such ugly thoughts, I can't be held responsible for what I'll have to do to distract you. I'll fill your head aaalll with me and me alone, ok?"
"Asmodeus, I'm serious."
His eyes flash, and your heart flutters as a low growl reverberates from deep within his chest, "As am I."
Deciding to change tactics, you wind your arms around his waist.
"I'm not going anywhere, Mo. I don't want to be anywhere else." You rub his back gently in an attempt to reassure him and assuage his fears. You wait until his pupils dilate some before you continue.
"I'm happy here with you, with all of you. I just want to make sure you're happy too."
"Aww, of course I'm happy!" Asmodeus wraps his arms across your shoulders and rests his head atop yours, "I have our sweet MC all to myself tonight."
You sigh heavily, feeling the way he shivers slightly at the drag of your palm over his spine. He's backing you into a corner.
"I feel like you deserve better than me." His breath hitches, but he says nothing.
"I was...thinking of the past. I thought I had no regrets coming here, studying here, becoming Solomon's apprentice, making pacts with you all..." You halt, feeling Asmodeus's nails dig into the fabric covering your shoulder.
"Yet, you regret them. Your pacts with us?" He hisses.
"Never!" You're shocked with the strength of your denial. With the way he jolts, you guess the finality in your tone surprises Asmodeus too. His head lifts from yours, gaze locking onto your own.
"I don't regret our pact, just the way it came to be." You expect disappointment, anger, even annoyance. But all there is, is Asmodeus's amused expression in response to the confession you'd fretted over the past who-knows-how-long.
"How so?" His knowing little smirk irks you just a tad.
"What do you mean, "how so?"!? I deceived you, all of you, to free Belphegor."
Asmodeus's shoulders begin to shake with laughter. Flabbergasted, you try to find words, but all evade you.
"Deceived the deceivers! Our little human, so powerful and persuasive." Asmodeus mocks, swooning in your lap.
As he finally quiets down, he swipes a manicured thumb over your bottom lip.
“Mm, was I not clear enough then? No one, not even Solomon, has ever made me feel as powerful as you do." His thumb presses down, parting your lips.
"I can't speak for my adorable brothers, but you wanted a pact, and I desired your power. We both got what we wanted and," a hand returns to pet your hair, "maybe even more than we bargained for?"
You snort in disbelief. Your demons, always keeping you on your toes.
"Yeah, something like that."
Asmodeus giggles, pressing a kiss onto your cheek this time.
"No need to get so worked up. Should I go to Lucifer to arrange a family meeting? If you're that concerned, we can take turns," his fingers glide down from your hair to cup the back of your neck as he whispers, "reciting the vows of our arrangement."
"T-that's not necessary, Mo! I get it!" You squirm in his hold and pout. Always such a tease!
"You're SO cute when you're all pouty. But I've suffered enough tonight by your hand, don't you think?" He hauls himself off your lap and takes a moment to stretch in a manner that is all too slow and all too intentional.
You melt at the mirth swimming in his eyes and wonder why you were ever worried to begin with. Forever, was it? Forever has a nice ring to it.
"Oh, forgive me, dearest. However, can I make it up to you?" Theatrics, your shared love language.
"Well," he begins, giddy when you get up to follow him out of the music room, "a nice long bath together should be enough to soothe my aching heart."
"Not too long," you chide, "your breath reeks of demonus. You need to rest."
"Reeks?!" He squeals and you laugh.
"Aww, I get it. You're worried about me! Oh, I always knew we'd be a perfect match." Asmodeus links his arm with your own and tugs you towards the stairs. You resign yourself to your fate, you don't want to sleep alone tonight anyway.
"Mo." You tsk.
"Fine, fine. We both need our beauty sleep, but I'm keeping you to myself aaalll day tomorrow." You take the time to make sure he doesn't stumble over any of the steps.
"And what will we do then?" The scent of roses floods your senses as you both enter his room. It seizes you whole, fills your lungs, and leaves you entranced. It smells like Asmodeus's signature perfume.
It smells like home.
Asmodeus reaches into his dresser and pulls out a matching set of pajamas. "I believe movies and massages are in order." To your surprise, he also pulls out a matching set in your size.
"Romantic comedies?" You can't stop the grin that splits across your lips.
Some time ago, as Mammon and Leviathan argued over whether to watch action movies or a live action rendition of TSL, Asmodeus had curled himself into your arms. Hidden beneath the covers of your bed and in between a stolen kiss or two, he'd confided that drama had once been his favorite genre. But in your absence, romantic comedies had occupied his time. The loveable leads reminded him of you both and the endless joy your unique and unexpected relationship brought him.
"You know me so well~" Asmodeus purrs.
"That does sound nice." You walk over, taking the pajamas from him to set them side-by-side onto his bed.
"Of course it does," Asmodeus tugs your arm and you move to join him in his bathroom, "I always know what you like!"
You move his hands away as he tries to undress you. He pouts but acquiesces, turning away from you to undress himself and slip into the bath.
When you finish undressing, you turn to find him with his head tilted back on the tile and at peace. You admire him for a moment, thankful that such a stunning creature had opened his fragile heart to you.
He doesn't move until you sit beside him, bubbly water sloshing side-to-side.
"So, you'll stay?" His head finds purchase on your shoulder, fingers tangled with yours beneath the water. You lay your head atop his own, pressing a kiss to his locks.
"For as long as you'll have me."
"So," he kisses your shoulder in return, "forever?"
"Forever is fine."
A soft trill escapes him. "I'll be sure to take good care of you."
You sink deeper into the bubbles with a hum.
"I love you." He murmurs into your skin.
The warmth sinks into your bones and pulls you deeper into relaxation. You could fall asleep here.
"Hey!" You yelp at the little nip he gives your shoulder. “Tell me you love me too."
You laugh, picking up his head to push your foreheads together. The adoration in his eyes makes your belly all warm and fuzzy. You feel safe here. This is where you want to belong.
"Love you too, Mo."

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Part 14 Part 15 Part 16 Part 17 Part 18 Part 19 Part 20 Part 21 Part 22 Part 23 Part 24 Part 25 Part 26 Part 27 Part 28 Part 29
Pairing : y/n x Matt Sturniolo
Summary : After six years with your boyfriend Alex, you start to mentally check out. At a UCLA party, Alex reconnects with his childhood friend Emily, who proposes a double date with her boyfriend Matt. Your attraction to Matt grows as he pays you the first real attention you've had in years, sparking a complicated emotional journey.
Warnings : (This is the longest chapter so far, 5.2k words, warnings will contain spoilers!!) MDNI, angst, fluff, tension, slight arguing, cheating (dont do this) smut, p in v (protected!), guilt, also not fully proof read ill do that when I wake up in the morning lol
After a few more moments of soaking in the thrill of the evening, it was time to leave the rink. The cold air had seeped through our clothes, and the exhilaration of skating had left us both pleasantly tired. As we slowly made our way to the edge of the rink, I couldn’t help but glance back at the ice one last time. It had been years since I felt so alive, so connected to something I loved, with someone who was becoming more special to me with every passing moment.
Matt reached the edge first, turning around to offer me his hand as I approached. I took it without hesitation, his warmth cutting through the chill in the air. We stepped off the ice and walked over to the benches to change out of our skates. As we sat down, the silence between us was comfortable, filled with the unspoken understanding that tonight had been something special. I unlaced my skates, my fingers still tingling from the cold, and slipped back into my shoes. Matt did the same, occasionally glancing over at me with that easygoing smile that made my heart skip a beat.
Once we were both ready, we gathered our things and headed for the exit. The rink was eerily quiet now, the sound of our footsteps echoing softly through the empty space. As we reached the doors, Matt paused, as I turned to look at him with a playful glint in my eyes.
"Can I just say, I’m amazed with how good you are on the ice" I teased. "You’ve set the bar pretty high for our next hangout."
He laughed, shaking his head. "Oh, so now there’s a bar I have to maintain? I see how it is."
I grinned, as Matt held the door open for me as we stepped out into the cool night air. "Well, you’ve definitely got me curious about what else you can do."
The parking lot was almost empty, the streetlights casting a soft glow over the cars. We walked toward his car, the night wrapping around us like a blanket.
As we reached his car, Matt opened the door for me, his hand lingering on the frame as he looked at me. For a moment, we just stood there, the unspoken connection between us stronger than ever. Then, with a soft smile, I slid into the passenger seat, and Matt closed the door behind me. He walked around to the driver’s side, and got in. As he started the engine, the car hummed to life, and we pulled out of the parking lot. The drive back was quieter than the drive there, but it wasn’t an awkward silence. Instead, it was the kind of silence that felt full, heavy with the memories of the night and the growing connection between us. Every now and then, Matt would glance over at me, a small smile playing on his lips.
He finally broke the silence, his voice soft “I honestly think you should get back into skating Y/n."
I laughed, turning to face him. "No I can't, it's too late now, I’ve missed the opportunity."
"It’s never too late, and from what I witnessed earlier on you still have it, it comes so naturally to you." He replied, his tone sincere. "Even I felt like I learned a lot from you, maybe I’ll become a figure skater now. You know, give you a run for your money."
"Ha, I’d like to see that" I said, rolling my eyes but smiling. "But seriously, it was really fun. I haven’t felt that free in a long time."
"I’m glad" he said, his eyes flickering toward me briefly before focusing back on the road. "You deserve to feel like that more often."
We fell into another easy silence, the sound of the road beneath us and the faint hum of music playing softly in the background. The city lights blurred past, and I found myself lost in thought, the events of the night replaying in my mind.
Before I knew it, we were pulling up to my apartment building. Matt slowed the car to a stop in front, the engine idling softly. He turned to me, his expression softer, more thoughtful now.
"I really enjoyed tonight, Y/n" he said, his voice low. "It was.. special."
"Yeah, it was.." I agreed, my heart beating a little faster as I looked at him. There was something in the air between us, a tension that had been building all night. Part of me wanted to close the gap, to see what it would be like to kiss him, to let this connection go where it felt like it wanted to.
But before I could act on the thought, the car’s dashboard lit up with an incoming call. A serious sense of deja vu running through my body. Emily’s name flashed across the screen, and just like that, the moment shattered.
I blinked, the reality of everything crashing back into place. I knew I was breaking up with Alex, but to him, the relationship wasn’t over yet. He was clueless about what was coming, about what he had done to push me away, and the fact that I know what he’s done. As for Matt, things were different. He didn’t know about Emily’s betrayal, how she had basically ended their relationship with what she did with Alex.
Matt glanced at the screen, his jaw tightening slightly. He ignored the call, but seconds later, it rang again, Emily’s name glaring at us from the dashboard. I took it as a sign, a reminder that whatever was happening between us, it wasn’t the right time. Not yet.
"I should go.." I said softly, unbuckling my seatbelt and reaching for the door handle.
Matt looked at me, something unspoken passing between us, but he nodded. "Okay" he replied, his voice laced with disappointment. "Goodnight, Y/n.”
"Goodnight, Matt," I said, giving him a small smile before I opened the door and slid out of the car. I paused for a moment, looking back at him as he finally answered the phone. His voice was low, and I could hear the tension in his tone as he spoke to Emily.
I turned away, walking up the steps to my apartment, each step feeling heavier than the last. The night had been perfect, almost magical, but it ended on a note that brought me right back to reality. As I reached my door, I couldn’t help but wonder what might have happened if things were different, if we were both free to explore whatever this was between us without the shadows of our current situations looming over us.
But for now, all I could do was disappear into the night, leaving Matt to deal with his own tangled mess as I tried to untangle mine.
Matt's POV
Standing outside Y/n’s door, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. I hadn’t planned on showing up unannounced, but after yesterday, I couldn't stop thinking about her. I wanted to do something special, something that she loved, like skating. When she opened the door, I couldn’t help but smile at the surprise on her face.
“Hey, sorry for just appearing… Are you free for the night?” I asked, trying to sound casual, though my heart was racing.
She stood there, clearly debating whether to mention something, maybe that she already had plans. But before she could respond, I knew I had ro say something else, I really wanted the plans I’d made to happen, “I have a bit of a surprise for you.”
I could see the curiosity spark in her eyes as she nodded. I felt a surge of relief. This was going to be good.
In the car, she kept asking where we were going, but I just grinned and told her my lips were sealed. When I mentioned it would be an hour's drive, she looked at me like I was crazy, but the way she smiled told me she didn’t mind. I suggested she jump on aux, and soon we were caught up in a back and forth of sharing songs. Each song she played gave me a glimpse into her world, her taste, and it felt like we were connecting on a level I hadn’t expected.
When she saw the sign for LA Kings Valley Ice Centre, the way her eyes lit up was worth every second of planning.
“We’re going skating?” she asked, clearly excited.
I nodded, feeling a bit proud of myself. “I was serious when I said I wanted to learn how to spin.”
Her excitement was contagious. “This is where I used to go to skate school,” she said, and I could hear the nostalgia in her voice. She kept thanking me, but honestly, seeing her this happy was thanks enough.
Renting the place wasn’t an issue to me, I wanted to make sure it was just us there. The look of surprise and gratitude on her face made me feel like I’d done something right. Something she needed.
We laced up our skates and hit the ice. I could tell she was expecting me to be a total mess out there, but when I glided smoothly beside her, she looked genuinely surprised.
“Woah, you can skate?” she asked.
“Played hockey for years” I replied with a grin, enjoying the way she looked at me, maybe seeing me in a different light.
She teased me about my skating skills, so naturally, we decided to race. We lined up at one end of the rink, and I couldn’t help but notice how she looked - confident, poised, and honestly, really attractive. We took off, laughing as we pushed ourselves to go faster. She won, of course, but it didn’t matter. The way she laughed as she reached the other end made me feel like I’d won something else entirely.
After the race, she finally started to teach me how to spin. I watched closely as she walked me through the steps, focusing on her movements, her voice. When I tried it myself, I was nervous, I wanted to impress her and honestly, I wasn’t half bad, but nothing compared to the way she moved. When she started doing her old moves, I was in awe. She still had it, the grace, the skill. It was mesmerizing to watch.
I couldn’t stop watching her, how she has so much potential with skating, how it looked like she’d never stopped doing it, I was in absolute awe. The connection between us grew with every moment we spent on that ice. I didn’t want the night to end, but eventually, we had to leave.
On the drive back, the atmosphere in the car was different, calmer, more intimate. We talked about the night, about how much fun it was, I really want to push her to skate again. I wished I could erase the day she ever stopped doing it because I can see what those few hours meant for her. I could feel the tension building again, like it had when we were at the rink. I kept glancing at her, wondering if she was feeling the same way I was.
As we pulled up to her apartment, I felt this urge to kiss her, to see if what I was feeling was real. We sat there for a moment, talking, and I could tell she was thinking about it too. But then my phone lit up with a call from Emily, and the moment was gone.
I cursed under my breath as I saw her name flash on the screen. The timing couldn’t have been worse. I ignored the call, hoping we could get back to where we were, but she called again. I could see the shift in Y/n, the way she pulled back slightly, the way reality crashed back down on both of us.
She opened the passenger door, giving me a small smile, the kind that didn’t reach her eyes, and said goodnight. I wanted to stop her, to tell her that this wasn’t the end of the night I wanted, but I couldn’t find the words.
I watched her disappear into her apartment, the weight of everything settling on my shoulders as I finally answered Emily’s call, her voice came through loud and clear.
“Where the hell have you been? I’ve been calling you, Matt.”
I sighed, gripping the steering wheel tightly. “I was driving, my phone wasn’t connected properly. Didn’t think it was safe to answer while I was on the road.”
“Driving where? You didn’t mention going anywhere tonight.”
I hesitated for a moment, not wanting to get into the details with her. “Just out, needed some air.”
She huffed on the other end, clearly not satisfied with my vague response. “Have you been speaking to Y/n at all? Alex said she’s been really short with him, and he hasn’t heard from her in hours. He’s starting to lose it.”
I felt a twist in my gut. I wasn’t going to lie fully about being around Y/n this time, only hiding the parts I needed to. “Yeah, I talked to her. But why is he losing it? They’re still together, right?”
Emily scoffed, her tone laced with venom. “Barely. She treats him like shit, Matt. It’s no wonder he’s upset. She’s always so distant, like she couldn’t care less about him. And now, she’s ignoring him while he’s on the other side of the world? That’s just selfish.”
I clenched my jaw, feeling my patience wearing thin. “That’s not fair, Emily. You don’t know what’s going on between them. It seems Y/n’s been dealing with a lot lately, and maybe she just needs some space.”
Emily’s laugh was bitter. “Oh, come on, Matt. Don’t defend her. Alex deserves better than someone who barely gives him the time of day. I mean, look at how she’s acting now. It’s like she’s purposely pushing him away.”
I couldn’t take it anymore. “You’re wrong about her. Y/n isn’t the problem here. Alex has been distant for a while, and maybe she’s finally had enough. That doesn’t make her the bad guy.”
There was a pause on the other end, and I could almost picture Emily’s surprise at my sudden defense of Y/n. “You’re really going to take her side?”
“It’s not about sides, Emily. It’s about understanding that there’s more to this than you know. Maybe if you spent less time shit talking Y/n and more time trying to actually help your friend, you’d see that.”
Her voice dropped to a cold, almost threatening tone. “You better be careful, Matt.”
I felt my frustration boiling over. This conversation wasn’t going anywhere, and I couldn’t stand the way Emily was twisting everything. “I think this call is over, Emily. I’m done with this.”
Before she could say anything else, I ended the call and threw my phone onto the passenger seat, feeling a wave of anger and guilt crashing over me. I couldn’t believe how Emily was acting, how blind she was to what was really happening. And the worst part was, I knew Y/n was suffering because of it.
I turned off the engine, unbuckling my seatbelt as I made a decision. I couldn’t let the night end like this. I had to do something, something I should’ve done a long time ago. Without another thought, I got out of the car and headed towards Y/n’s apartment.
I knew this was going to change everything, but at that moment, I didn’t care. It was time to set things right, no matter what the consequences were.
Y/n’s POV
As I walked up the steps to my apartment, my mind was a whirlpool of thoughts, emotions pulling me in every direction. The night had been perfect, well, almost. There was something so easy about being around Matt, something that made me forget the chaos my life had become. But as soon as Emily's name flashed on his dashboard, reality came crashing back.
I reached my door, sliding the key into the lock, and stepped inside. The familiar comfort of my apartment wrapped around me, but it did little to ease the storm in my head. I leaned against the door after closing it, trying to make sense of everything. The skating, the music, the laughter. It had felt like an escape, like we were in our own little world where nothing could touch us. But that world wasn't real.
Matt was still tied to Emily, and I was still stuck with the knowledge of Alex’s betrayal. The fact that Emily had basically cheated on Matt with Alex, and that Alex was oblivious, Matt was obvious. It didn’t make it any better. If anything, it made everything worse. Was I any better than them for feeling what I felt about Matt? For enjoying tonight as much as I did? The guilt crept in again. I was planning to break up with Alex, that much was certain. But did that make what I was feeling, what I was starting to want, any less wrong? Could I really justify it?
I shook my head, trying to push those thoughts away, but they clung to me like a shadow. Matt was different. He wasn’t like Alex. But Emily.. Emily had her claws in him, both of them it seems, and I couldn’t forget that. She might not deserve him, but that didn’t change the fact that they were still together.
A sudden knock on the door yanked me from my spiraling thoughts. My heart jumped into my throat as I turned towards the door, my pulse quickening. I hesitated for a moment, trying to pull myself together, before reaching for the handle.
As soon as the door swung open, I barely had time to register Matt standing there before he closed the distance between us. His hands cupped my face and his lips crashed against mine. It was like a dam had broken, all the tension and longing we’d both been holding back finally pouring out. I could feel the urgency in his touch, the desperation. I responded instinctively, my hands gripping his shirt, pulling him closer. The kiss deepened, our breaths mingling as we lost ourselves in the moment.
I felt the world around us disappear, nothing else mattered but this - Matt and me, finally giving in to what we both wanted. There was no hesitation, no second guessing. Everything felt right. His lips moved against mine with a perfect rhythm, and I could feel the heat between us growing, the connection we shared becoming more intense with each passing second.
As we continued to kiss, Matt’s hands slipped from my face down to my waist, pulling me even closer to him. I could feel the warmth of his body against mine, the way his heart was racing just as fast as mine. It was intoxicating, the way we fit together, the way everything just clicked.
But even in the haze of the moment, there was a tenderness in the way he held me, a sense of care that made my heart swell. He wasn’t just kissing me - he was telling me something, something that went beyond words. And in that moment, I knew I felt the same way.
When we finally pulled apart, both of us were breathing heavily, our foreheads resting against each other’s. Matt’s eyes were searching mine, as if trying to find the words to say something, but he didn’t need to. I knew what he felt, and I felt it too.
“Matt..” I whispered, my voice shaky from the intensity of what had just happened.
He didn’t respond right away, just held me there, his thumb gently stroking my cheek. “I’ve wanted to do that for a long time” he finally said, his voice low and full of emotion.
I smiled softly, feeling the truth in his words. “Me too” I admitted.
We stood there for a moment, just holding each other, letting the reality of what had just happened sink in. There were still so many things we needed to talk about, so many complications, but for now, none of that mattered. All that mattered was that we were finally here, together, and everything else could wait.
Everything else melted away. The confusion, the guilt, the doubts - they all vanished in the intensity of that kiss. It was like every unspoken word, every suppressed feeling, was finally being released. I couldn’t think, I couldn’t breathe, I could only feel. This was what I had been running from, what I had been trying to deny. But now that it was happening, now that Matt was kissing me like this, there was no going back. And maybe, just maybe, I didn’t want to.
We stared into eachothers eyes again momentarily before closing the gap again, this time more intense than before, like we couldn’t get enough of each other. I began to walk backwards, pulling Matt along with me by his shirt.
I break away from him, grabbing his hand and turning to guide him to my shared bedroom. I push open the door and we rush straight in, both too consumed by the connection between us to speak a word.
Matt shuts the door behind him and latches his lips onto mine once more, his hands sliding down to my waist as I wrapped my arms around his neck. The kiss deepened, and before I knew it, I was guiding him backwards towards the bed, my heart racing in anticipation. When we reached it, I pushed him gently down onto the mattress, never breaking the kiss.
I climbed onto his lap, straddling him as our lips continued to move together, the heat between us growing. Matt’s hands found their way to my back, holding me close as if he didn’t want to let go, and I felt a thrill run through me at the intensity of it all. The sensation of being so close to him, of feeling his heartbeat against mine, was overwhelming in the best possible way.
I could sense the restraint in Matt’s movements, the careful way he held me, as if he was trying to balance the passion with a deep sense of respect. It was a reminder of why I was drawn to him in the first place - his ability to make me feel safe and cherished, even in the most intense moments.
Eventually, we pulled apart slightly, I looked into Matt's eyes, seeing the same mix of vulnerability and hope that mirrored my own feelings.
“Are you sure about this?” I asked, wanting to make sure we were both on the same page.
"This feels right." He whispered, his voice barely above a breath.
I nodded with a soft smile. "It does."
Before I knew it Matt had flipped me over, now laying with my back against the mattress. Foreplay wasn’t on the cards right now, with how bad we desperately wanted each other.
Matt stood up and unbuckled his belt, the metallic sound of the buckle was sharp in the quiet room, a reminder of how far we had already come, and how much further we could go.
I looked into his eyes, searching for any sign of hesitation, but all I saw was the same intensity that had been there all night, a mix of desire and something deeper, something that made my heart race even more. He paused for a moment, as if giving me the chance to stop, to say something, but I didn’t. I couldn’t.
Instead, I sat up, to capture his lips again, my hands resting on his shoulders as I felt the belt slide free. The kiss was softer this time, more deliberate, as if we were both savoring every second, every touch. The tension between us was electric, a current that I could feel in every inch of my body.
Matt's fingers traced up and down my thighs as he kissed me back. He hooked his fingers under my pants, pulling them down along with my underwear in one swift motion. I stared up at him with innocent eyes as he threw my pants on the floor and began to pull down his own, now standing in his boxers.
“Is this okay?” Matt asks, trying to make sure he had as much reassurance as possible.
“Of course.” I responded, trying to make him aware of how badly I wanted it.
“Do..do you have anything?” Matt mumbled.
Fuck I never thought this through.
“Uh.. yeah there should be some there in the top drawer”.
Knowing that Matt was about to pull out an unopened pack of condoms that belonged to Alex made my skin crawl. I knew they’d be unopened as our sex life died about a year ago.
Matt rummages around the top drawer and pulls out an open box of condoms. I don’t know what I’m more embarrassed by, the fact that Alex has most definitely been fucking someone else or the fact that Matt definitely thinks that they were being used for me.
“Are you ready?” Matt whispered.
I nodded as he pulled my legs apart, steadying himself at the edge of the bed while he pulled his underwear down, ripping the top of the condom wrapper with his teeth. He looked up at me once he was finished and our eyes met each other, locking into each other's gaze as he pushed into me. My back arched as I squeezed my eyes closed, opening my mouth from the feeling of Matt in me.
“Fffucck” I cried.
He leaned over and gave me a smug smile before kissing me again, pushing his tongue into my mouth. I could barely kiss him back as I couldn’t stop myself from moaning. He fit in me as if it was meant to be.
“You’re so perfect” Matt whispers to me while he starts to kiss my neck.
“Y-you feel soo goood Matt” I whimpered, my body buckling with the multiple sensations I was feeling.
Matt stands up straight again, still keeping his pace, thrusting into me as his hands grip my hips. I feel the loss of his touch on my left side, as he removes his hand and traces downard on my stomach until he reaches my clit. I feel my core start to clench as he swirls his thumb in circles on my sensitive bud.
“Does that feel nice?” Matt whispers, his full attention on me.
“S-so good, Mattt… I’m so close” I whimpered.
“You look so pretty, my girl.” Matt says breathless as he looks at me in complete admiration.
Matt picks up his pace in both areas ever so slightly, still making sure he’s gentle with me. “Fuck you’re so good Y/n, I’m gonna cum.”
“Fuck I’m-” I whimper, clenching around his dick as I climax, my body shaking underneath him. Matt wrapped his arms around me and buried his head in my neck. His grunts filling my ears as his thrusts now become sloppy as he finishes. Both two sweaty mess’ fully engrossed in eachother.
I’ve never had this feeling before, finishing by the hands of a man, and I’m glad he was the one that finally could do it for me. I felt an insane amount of comfort with him, my body fully trusted him.
Matt pulled out of me and bent down to give me a slow, passionate kiss. Feeling more connected than ever. He pulls away and looks at me with a slight concerned but playful look to him.
“D-do you have any where I could put this?” Matt asks, pointing in the direction of the filled condom that’s still attached to him.
I giggled at the realization “Yeah, the ensuite is the door behind you.” Nodding in the direction of the door. Matt made his way to clean himself up in the bathroom while I slipped into something comfortable.
I walked back over to my bed and lay there staring up at the ceiling. I hear the bathroom door open as Matt reappears in the room, walking over to lay down beside me, my eyes still stuck on the ceiling. The room was filled with a quiet stillness, the only sound being our slowed, steady breathing. The warmth of Matt’s body was still close enough to feel, and everything seemed to fade into a soft haze. My mind was swimming with the events of the night, the weight of what had just happened slowly settling in.
I turned my head slightly to look at Matt. His eyes were half closed, his chest rising and falling rhythmically as he now stared at the ceiling. There was a calmness in his expression, but I could see the gears turning behind his eyes, just as they were in mine. We had crossed a line - one that we both knew couldn’t be uncrossed.
For a moment, neither of us spoke. I didn’t want to break the silence, didn’t want to shatter the fragile bubble we were in. But as I lay there, the reality of everything began to creep back in - the complications, the uncertainties, the questions about what this meant for us, for our relationships.
Finally, Matt turned his head to face me, his eyes searching mine. I could see the same mix of emotions I was feeling reflected in his gaze - satisfaction, confusion, and a touch of concern.
“You okay?” he asked softly, his voice a low rumble that sent a shiver down my spine.
I nodded, though the simple gesture felt inadequate to convey the whirlwind of thoughts in my head. “Yeah.. I’m okay,” I whispered back, my voice almost trembling.
He reached out, his hand brushing a strand of hair away from my face, and the tenderness in that small gesture made my chest tighten. “I’m glad” he murmured, his thumb grazing my cheek. “I don’t want you to regret this.”
“I don’t” I said quickly, more sure of that than anything else. “It’s just.. there’s so much to think about now.”
Matt sighed, rolling onto his back again and staring up at the ceiling. “Yeah, there is” he agreed. “But right now, I just want to focus on this, on us, and what we have in this moment. We’ll figure everything else out later.”
I nodded, feeling a small wave of relief wash over me. The idea of dealing with the fallout of this was daunting, but Matt’s words grounded me, reminding me that we didn’t have to have all the answers right now. We could take it one step at a time.
I shifted closer to him, resting my head on his shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around me, pulling me into his warmth. The comfort of his embrace, the steady beat of his heart beneath my ear, made it easier to push away the looming thoughts, at least for a little while.
In that quiet aftermath, with the weight of the night pressing down on us, I found a sense of peace that I hadn’t felt in a long time. Whatever came next, whatever challenges we’d have to face, I knew we’d face them together.
a/n : after 16 parts of tension building they finallllllly get together!!! let’s just see how things play out..

Hi, HUGE fan of yours, I just wanted to point out that the big addition you made about Shadow Generations and the Shadow's history timeline from the anime expo seems to be based very heavily on assumption; it's way more likely and also was downright alluded to by the host that whoever threw that chart together for this con (and who likely was just an intern given Photoshop and a Fandom wiki) was only including appearances that were major to real life; they specifically presented it as "his first appearance, the games where he returned, his first standalone title, and then non-game media that depicted him."
I also don't agree that it'd be nostalgia bait to focus on Shadow's past right now, especially in a Generations-style anthology game that's meant to capitalize on the movie. The ARK itself was last relevant to a game almost 20 years ago so SEGA is probably concerned that the people they're marketing to literally weren't alive during its relevancy.
Spoilers for a level in the game below:
It's also not like they're ignoring 06 and sweeping it under the rug, one of the few things we know about the game is that it has a level from 06. I'm not saying you were wrong I'm just saying you based a ton of speculative criticism on assumption and misunderstanding, which as a Sonic fan who lived through the 2010s it's just very draining to hear speculative criticism
Well the 06 thing was just me being mr salty more than anything so I’ll give you that. It’s not a criticism for the game, because I know what the game is gonna be and accept this, but just a disappointment with the attitude around it and the fact that they were able to tell new stories with Shadow in the past but have been seemingly unwilling to do anything else like that for the past 17 years. It just kinda feels like they’re digging their heels in to characterize Shadow as someone whose sole motivation revolves around Maria because they think that’s what people want to see, even though that’s something that I feel the canonical ending of Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) and later Sonic 06 showed was definitely not the case.
(Although I still vastly prefer this reading to Shadow acting like an asshole for no reason).
My issues lie way more in my expectations for the panel that this was going to be a deep dive into Shadow’s in-universe character and explore some of the lore that hadn’t been talked about before. There was some of that, but in the end it really boiled down to stuff I was either aware of, or stuff that had already been well-established in canon. There’s nothing wrong with that per se, especially as an introduction to Sonic x Shadow Generations, but considering Sonic x Shadow Generations is already looking to be an introduction to Shadow in Sonic 3, I was hoping there would be more for me to sink my teeth into as someone who is familiar with the character and deeply interested more in specifics. I recognize this is 100% a me problem, but I can’t help but feel frustrated.
As for the nostalgia-bait thing, I think we’ll just have to agree to disagree there. Sonic Generations is literally THE nostalgia game, and I don’t mean that as an insult, it made perfect sense for the time it came out. But considering there’s been a pretty significant tendency to revisit the same locations and concepts, to the point where its become a known point of criticism for the franchise, I can’t help but feel like this is the same thing I’m used to seeing just with Shadow. Which don’t get me wrong, if they’re gonna do it anyways, I’d much rather it be for a character we’ve been hankering for for so long! I just feel a little fatigued is all, even if I understand it makes perfect sense marketing-wise to make a version of one of your best-received games that neatly introduces your character starring in a blockbuster later that year, while also throwing a bone to Shadow/adventure era fans who were dying to see remastered levels from that era (me included!). It’s actually ingenious, so I can’t possibly fault them for it. Plus, for all my complaining, its looking like there definitely is new stuff going on with Shadow, so I’m excited for that. I am just hoping they can tell a story better than the one we got in the original Sonic Generations (which fortunately shouldn’t be too difficult).

Flight of Icarus Chapters 1-5
Disclaimer: I’m not even going to pretend that I’m not upset about learning about Eddie’s love life or feeling a sense of jealousy. However, I am going to keep this as neutral as possible. If you think that me having these feelings diminishes any thought I have about the book then you don’t need to read these.
The first 4.5 chapters I read out loud to my friends, and we had a lovely time until I got drunk and passed out lol
Now, let’s get into it.
Spoilers for chapters 1-5 under the cut.
Chapter 1:
The story starts with Eddie killing off Gareths’ character in D&D, which I personally love. We get some insight of the current members, and we now have a name for the previously Unnamed Freak, Dougie. Gareth gets pissy and leaves but Eddie follows him out and says that Gareth is allowed to keep coming to Hellfire and will even help him create a new character.
We are introduced to Ronnie, Eddie’s aromantic best friend. I like her, she seems cool so far. She’s the current drummer of Corroded Coffin and they have a very sibling-type dynamic. Eddie did try and kiss her when they were 13, but she dodged him.
This chapter we get a little into Eddie’s relationship with his dad. Al Munson started dropping off the face of the earth on and off from the time Eddie was in third grade, leaving him alone for days at a time before Uncle Wayne realized what was going on and dragged Eddie to live with him during these times. That is where he met Ronnie who lives with her grandma at the trailer park.
Eddie gives Ronnie a ride home, where she reveals that she got a full ride scholarship to NYU, causing Eddie to break and fishtail and pull over from shock. He wants to be happy for her. Then a cop car pulls up and Office Moore is a huge dick to Eddie for daring to have the last name Munson. This is a regular occurrence.
The chapter ends with the cop leaving and Eddie taking Ronnie home.
Things I Liked:
-Having a name for the unnamed Freak, even if it’s not what I would have picked
-Seeing Eddie interact with Hellfire
-Gareth’s character getting killed off lol
-Ronnie
-Uncle Wayne, and learning more about Eddie’s family.
Overall, inoffensive chapter. Not bad.
Chapter 2
This is a very short chapter. We learn more about the Hideout, and the owner Bev. Eddie works there bussing tables four nights out of the week and in exchange Bev gives Corroded Coffin a stage to play on for probably about 30 minutes at 10.
We get to see how Eddie feels when he’s playing, and how he is on stage. He’s still only 18, so he’s occasionally a little clunky when introducing songs but he’s doing his best.
This is when we get the first glimpse of Paige. We have to remember that in this book, Eddie is an 18 year old boy who is used to being treated like shit. Paige is new in the bar, and she’s the only person who’s paying attention to them playing, and she winks at him.
Eddie simps.
But I’ll give him that if anyone was actually paying attention to me when I’m doing something I’m passionate about I’d probably simp too.
Eddie blasts through the set, and convinces the band to play the original song they’ve been working on. Jeff and Dougie aren’t sure about it, but Ronnie sees Paige, knows EXACTLY what’s going on, laughs at Eddie and goes for it.
Ronnie pulls a “you owe me” by letting him pack up her drums because of this.
Things I like about this chapter:
-Ronnie is a girl's girl, and the best wing man.
-Eddie talking about how it feels to be on stage and in the zone
-Eddie has a part time job
-Eddie singing and writing his own songs.
Short chapter, inoffensive.
Chapter 3
Another short chapter
Eddie talks to Paige and continues to simp. I do like that he keeps the conversation about music though, you can’t blame the guy for wanting to hear about how they sounded by the ONE person who has ever actually listened.
Paige went to Hawkins High and graduated two years before, putting her at about 20 years old. She has a brother on the baseball team and she works as a junior talent scout for a record label and the only way to move or or get promoted is to find a band to sign, but her boss hates everything. She’s only in town because her hoarder grandma has died, and the Hideout is the only place within 20 miles of Hawkins that has live music.
The chapter ends without them even exchanging phone numbers
Things I liked:
-Bev bullying Eddie to do his job
-Croak-a-cola
-Eddie desperately wanting to talk about his music with someone
Things I didn’t like
-Eddie Simp-son
-Corroded Coffin got booed off the stage at the middle school talent show for playing Prowler by Judas Priest, I will be ignoring this canon in future fics.
Not much to say about this chapter
Chapter 4
Things get interesting.
Eddie comes home. Home in this case is not Wayne’s trailer but apparently an actual house that Al Munson owns that Eddie lives at alone most of the time.
Not tonight though, there are two pairs of boots by the door. Al’s back from jail. Again. Al Munson is big and boisterous and is charming and I want to punch him in his smug little face. He’s been in jail and has the nerve to tease and joke at Wayne’s attempts to take care of Eddie. Eddie isn’t into it.
Wayne leaves, but not before offering Eddie a place to stay at the trailer, saying there’s a room for him ready whenever he wants it. Eddie declines. Wayne leaves. You can tell Eddie doesn’t know how to talk to Al.
Al is in trouble. He owes some people money, about $10k. He wants Eddie to join him in stealing some weed from an undercover truck. There’s probably a million dollars worth of weed, but Al swears they’d only steal enough to pay off the loan. Eddie doesn’t want anything to do with this. Eddie tells him to go to Hell, Al sleeps on the couch
What I like:
-The dynamic between Wayne, Eddie, and Al
-Wayne bringing Eddie groceries every few weeks
-Wayne in general, he’s the best damn parental figure ever
-Eddie telling his dad to go to hell
-The implication we’re gonna get Munson’s 11
Chapter 5
Eddie helps Gareth create a new character. Jeff was the one to actually make Gareths character before, and it’s nice to see Eddie being nice to his little sheep.
Gareth leaves and Eddie chats with Ronnie for a bit before they hear a commotion. Gareth is getting bullied by Tommy H, Jason Carver, and a few other jocks. Chrissy Cunningham is also there trying to get Jason to leave.
Gareth apparently owes them money, and a small scuffle gets broken up by Principal Higgens. Chrissy and Ronnie try and tell him that the jocks started it, but of course Eddie’s gonna get in trouble.
This is the chapter we get a cute little flashback of the time Eddie and Chrissy hung out at the talent show. It was actually pretty cute. Eddie and Chrissy were backstage looking at the audience, Eddie was looking for his no-show dad and Chrissy was looking for her mom who she wished didn’t show up. They each agree to cheer for each other, even if the other’s parents don’t.
What I liked about the chapter
-Chrissy is a sweetheart
-Gareth is still a little shit
What I didn’t like:
-Eddie calling Chrissy boring, basically. He basically said she was boring, but she did have personality once for the five minutes we talked four years ago.
Fun chapter, inoffensive. I’m tired of writing now.

My thoughts on Jude & Cardan becoming parents in the stolen heir duology!
I’m aware this topic has become a huge debate in the fandom. Everyone has their own opinions on this. But i’d like to share my ideas of how holly black would most likely handle this trope in her writing.
I see both sides of the debate, and i’m here to clear things up….hopefully!
First of all, i really don’t think holly would write pregnant jude.
HEAR ME OUT!! 🏃🏻🏃🏻
If anything, i see holly black writing a time skip to jude and cardans kids grown up, as teenagers. the pregnancy trope isn’t something i see holly writing at all. There wouldn’t be a lot of action if jude were pregnant.
I have lots of questions after reading the stolen heir, but no matter what happens in the second book (The prisoners throne” coming out 2024) i hope jude and cardan stay monarchs of Elfhame. no matter what.
And that being said…jude and cardan would HAVE to have children, who can grow up and eventually take their place as the new monarch of elfhame. it has to happen eventually, but it doesn’t have to happen in “The prisoners throne”
Holly already confirmed that she will be writing a lot more books that will be set in faerie/elfhame. Meaning new characters will be introduced, or side characters will have their own story. If jude DOES become pregnant, it will probably only be mentioned from someone else’s point of view. But it wouldn’t be shown.
In conclusion, i don’t believe holly would write pregnant Jude. specially in the second book of the stolen heir. It would be rushed. Jude and cardan would have been together romantically for 8 years, (TSE time period from TQON)and if they decided to keep ruling elfhame, then there would be no rush for them to have kids.
⚠️ THE STOLEN HEIR SPOILERS ⚠️
"The Folk adore Cardan, and they're terrified of my sister, two excellent things. I hope they rule Elfhame for a thousand years and then pass it down to one of a dozen offspring."
- Oak (The Stolen Heir)
Since the folk of the air series, we have known that Oak has never wanted to rule Elfhame. It’s clear that he hasn’t changed his mind, and he definitely won’t. He even wants jude and cardan to have kids, and believes he doesn’t have to be involved.
We know that Faerie women struggle to get pregnant. Since Jude is mortal, she can easily carry. Jude can restore the greenbrair family line. I don’t think holly would throw that opportunity away. So i definitely see jude and cardan being parents, but probably 20-50 or 100 years from now (in the world of elfhame obviously, as long as jude stays in faerie, she will live forever) theres absolutely no rush!
With the events that have taken place in the end of the stolen heir 🏃🏻💀…i’m scared and excited to see what holly black will do with oak and suren.
I don’t think people should worry about the pregnancy trope. I also know that people don’t want jude and cardan to be parents because it would be “out of character for jude & cardan”
let me remind you, in the folk of the air series, jude and cardan are teenagers/young adults, from the cruel prince, to HTKOELTHS. The stolen heir duology, is an 8 year time skip from TQON. MEANING, that jude and cardan will be more mature than they used to be. They’re ADULTS now. I heard someone say that they heard Holly black say during TSH tour that ‘she still has no idea how to write adult cardan.’
Meaning that holly is going to write adult jude and cardan. Giving us a more mature version of them. this doesn’t mean cardan won’t be his usual self, he’s going to keep being funny, and clever, but in a more mature way.
I’m excited to see what holly black does with the characters in the prisoners throne. i hope she can keep jude and cardan monarch of elfhame. But no matter what Holly decides to do, i will always support 🫡 she is a genius after all.

Sifuu bangs her empty stein back onto the table. “It’s late. Hassian will walk you back to Leta’s.”
“Oh, he don’t have to do that. It’s out of his way.”
“Nah, he camps out in the Bay more often’n not these days. Hassian!”
Sofe looks up. Hassian is where he’s been most of the evening, across the room, watching her. She doesn’t think it’s self-centred to say that. The past month she’s been around town she’s felt his eyes on her plenty of times. He never talks to her, though, and if she talks to him - just a cheerful ‘Good mornin’!’, even - she gets a grunt or maybe a nod in reply. Usually she’d roll her eyes internally at that kind of thing and look elsewhere but Dragon, this town is dry. Reth will flirt but no more and everyone else is either too old or too young or too married.
She’ll be home in a few days. But she also believes in making the most of an opportunity when one is handed to you.
“Well, if he don’t mind, I’d appreciate the company,” she says.
---
This (very smutty, explicit) one-shot is a spin-off for my AU fic Proof of Life - it occurs towards the end of chapter five but has no real bearing on the story, it’s just for fun. If you want the full context you’ll need to read PoL, but for speed (and spoilers for PoL if you’re planning to read it) - we’re currently about five years before the game present day, the story takes place in an AU where Hodari died in the mining accident instead of Leta, and Sofe is Leta’s younger sister who has been staying with her for a month or so before/after Leta has a baby. Sofe is in her mid-20s and I’ve decided for my purposes Hassian is around 25 in the game so he’s about 20 here. Enjoy!
