I realized something last night while rewatching Ep 6

Howzer’s helmet only has the two strips now opposed to his original helmet that was covered in teal:

In the episodes he asks Crosshair if he remembers him and his squad from Ryloth, that the empire killed them or took them to Tantis and he was obviously super pissed about it (rightfully so). The two strips has traditionally been a way for Mandalorians and later clone troopers to honor their fallen vode. Gree has his hair shaved in the two strips and Echo had two stripes on his helmet for domino squad before the Citadel.

I think this is Howzer’s way of remembering and honoring those in his squad that have fallen or been lost.

The way Hosea talks about Bessie is genuinely one of the sweetest things ever I just. How fondly he still reminisces about her, how dearly he holds her memory. From areas that remind him of her to little things like playing dominoes with Arthur, she’s always on his mind. The last thing he thinks about when he goes to sleep and the first thing he things about when he wakes up. “How a wretched sinner like me could be given someone so perfect, so beautiful to take care of for once in my wretched life, do my best”. God he loved her. He loves her. He cannot rationalise her death, he cannot see any fairness in how she has died and he is still alive. He left the gang for her and it didn’t last but he did leave, he tried to live a normal life for her, and she understood when he drifted back into things. Even with his approaching death, he’s worried that he won’t get to see her again, that she’s gone to heaven and he won’t end up there with her, and even still he says he’s ready for his own death. He loved her and he still loves her and he loves her until his death does find him. Every time he talks about her you can just feel all of that love he still has for her and it makes me so emotional. Hehe this man is broken and severely emotionally distressed. Silly lovable guy but given self esteem issues because of the crushing weight of perfectionism. Not so funny if you think about it too long. But at least on the upside he cries pretty :))

No but seriously for all those who relate to Mr. Puzzles just want you to know your accomplishments alone do not define your value and worth as a person. Even when you’re a messy work in progress, you are loved and appreciated more than you may recognize. Thank you for being here. Don’t get me wrong it’s good to be idealistic and set goals, but don’t undermine yourself if you don’t get that perfect score….or if you start to fall behind compared to everyone else. Everyone goes through those moments of doubt or perceived failure. We need to fail every once in a while. And that’s okay

…a-anyways funny goofy dramatic TV guy we love him so much so silly so slay he lives in my head rent free yipeee. This animation is dedicated to him because if anyone in the cast deserved a feature length film it was definitely him, and he sure took up the spotlight in Puzzlevison and absolutely owned it. I’m excited for his future endeavors ✨

Grieving.

Which I am currently doing, so here's a vent art (kind of). To be put in grief so suddenly is something I'd never wish upon anyone, but life is difficult and unpredictable like that. I can't even begin to fathom how Chichi felt when she became a widow all of a sudden, if expecting to lose a family member already hurt this much.

It does hit different when you used to look for references of family altars for that one Mother's Day sketch, and now you've already been around the thing yourself often enough to draw from experience 🥲
