a trope i absolutely love is a really good “where did they go”/runaway trope. i love that shit. i go FERAL for it. runaway/missing persons/whodunit but the person in question’s body HASNT BEEN FOUND??? i eat it up. allison from pll; sadie from sadie (courtney summers); lucy gray baird (tbosas); the list is ENDLESS!

i love that shit. i love that opening—it’s a day like any other, or maybe it’s not (maybe the earth swallowed you whole before you even woke up and you know you know before your eyes even open) and this person (they loved you; you knew them; you hated them; you love them; when did you meet?; that face…; did you even know them, who was that?) is gone. it may be a mystery to a small town, or a simple statistic in a big city, or a person you never even met, or someone you tried to, or wish you knew more, or loved like your own family.

they’re gone. but are they dead? you hear whispers wherever you go, like a haunting melody, or a rickety creek of a staircase, or a broken pipe that wind and water can’t help but come through. it’s present; but time moves on; and you listen.

tma fic recs? i went into ao3 and it was a mess

yeah it’s been slow-going for me too because of the amount of freak shit people post/have posted, as well as the fact that a lot of the high-kudos’d jm fics are from before s4 really ramped up their relationship development. and i’ve found i can get pretty picky about martin’s characterization. here’s a couple i’ve read and liked

the umbrella (4.6k) - mag160 fixit, probably my favorite fixit so far. includes canon-level non-graphic blinding. but it has a happy ending. it’s tma, i don’t need things to be light and fluffy all the time, i’m good with canon level darkness yk? as long as there’s a happy ending and the gays’ love for each other is pure.

feel the done days and you’re pulling through (1.8k) - jon deprogramming from being an avatar. living a very domestic and idyllic life. it’s adorable

all resistance wearing thin (4.7k) - ok this is the ONLY web!martin concept ive ever liked. bc it doesn’t make martin a crazy villain hes still himself and hes just NICE he LOVES people (aka jon). and we all like to indulge in a bit of mutually obsessive love. happy ending :)

some invitation of light (4k) - i love the joke that “martin is proof that playing hard to get works,” and this fic is in line with that. i’m picky about jealousy in fics but this one was enjoyable

ways to save the world (19.3k) - oooooogh urghhhhh jon gets trapped in the lonely and martin communicates to him through passages of poetry… im a total sucker for epistolary fics and this one was so GOOD

1. can’t be helped (5.3k) 2. rituals (8.4k) - two fics in a series. very monster boyfriend. the first is martin losing his emotions to the lonely. the second is martin getting them back, but jon has been subsumed by The Archivist, which is figuring out what martin means to it. there was a moment in the second that made me go a little whoa hey! it was the archivist compelling martin. but it wasn’t anywhere near enough to make me stop reading. they were good, heartrending reads.

misshapes, mistakes, monsters (7.9k) - jon takes martin as his plus one to an oxford reunion. an enjoyable read, along with an almost cartoonishly villainous posh man. pining! “it’s nice to feel like i’m something worth protecting” arrrghhhh

small things, simple acts (6.6k) - post-159 fic. bookmarked this one! because they LOVE each other and TRY SO HARD for each other!!!! jon buys martin a stuffed cow because he saw martin looking at it and theyre TRYING for it. “There are a lot of things that Jon can’t give him, like safety or a normal life. But he can absolutely get him a stuffed toy just because he looks like he wants it.”

i’m almost me again, you’re almost you (12.9k) - you know when you try to feel feelings and it’s like touching a hot stove? that’s what martin does this whole fic as he’s recovering from the lonely and jon is being so achingly sweet and good with him, but martin can’t 1. deal with it just yet 2. believe that jon loves him back. post-159 fic. god. READING it felt like touching a hot stove, or stepping into warm bathwater with cold feet. jesus christ. excellent

fate, or something (107.8k) - this is that 100k blind date s1 canon divergence au, and i tried it out and i LOVED IT. martin has a spine! it’s just so sweet. they’re friends! martin works with melanie for ghost hunt uk! a great read. it’s that sloooowwww burn shit.

forever is composed of nows (5.9k) - jon meets martin (a single dad) and martin’s daughter (agnes! who had good writing for a child in a fanfiction) in the library and things grow from there. this fic is SO CUTE. it’s wonderful. i literally had to take breaks while reading it to make wild animal noises because i couldn’t deal with it. god. it’s so good. UGH (thanks to @infernallegaycy for the rec!)

and i won’t pray for an unfilled grave (5.9k) - daisy after coming out of the buried. daisira and daisy&melanie bonding. WOMENNNNN I LOVE WOMEN

hello my old heart (15.8k) - jess @thedistortion, the person who got me into tma and a dear pal, wrote this, and their brain is utterly huge and good. i love this so much. a deeply excellent post-159 fic that i would also say is pre-160. so many parts of this make me gasp and clutch my chest! but it also has an excellent realism to it. spiders that enrage me. please read.

yesterday is here (26.6k+, WIP) - post-canon jon and martin travel back in time and hang out with the pre-canon crew and attempt to make everything better. guaranteed happy ending. it’s so sweet watching jon be so kind and gentle and Better At People with his coworkers and make things right - and the s1 jon and martin fumble at seeing their extremely married and Knowing counterparts.

a measure outside the lines (22.9k) - i looove post-159 fics that show that martin hasn’t been completely severed from the lonely and still really struggles with it. this one is EXCELLENT at it. there’s some moments in this one that just made me totally ache because oh… oh martin. it’s so wonderful and has such excellent emotional catharsis

interlude (7.8k) - s3 au where georgie meets martin over facetime with jon! makes me wistful for the friendship they could have had without all the coping mechanisms in the way. the fond teasing is very cute. the pining! the banter! the slips of the tongue! very, very enjoyable.

skin deep (3.1k) - another s3 au where georgie meets martin on better terms - she calls him for help after jon’s meeting with jude (as jon’s locked himself in his room). the way jon leans on martin and lets him in and just… the way he behaves around him. very sweet.

bury my heart on the coals (3.6k+, WIP) - au where martin was one of gertrude’s assistants who is now a ghost haunting the archives. i’m enjoying how he’s so judgmental of jon and all the little signs of Haunting that jon and the assistants are experiencing.

nor any more youth or age than there is now (6.5k) - outsider pov of jon being a primary school teacher in scotland post 159!! so, so sweet. i LOVE outsider pov stories and this one is so good. jon using his powers to protect his students and displaying all that character growth he’s had… the glimpses of his domestic life with martin… it’s adorable. please check it out.

take sides in divided cells (3.4k) - in an idyllic domestic post-canon, martin’s father tries to reconnect with him. from jon’s pov, so it’s a lot of him worrying about martin and then being protective. oof! oof! emotional hurt/comfort.

pieces of you stuck on me (1.9k) - spy au. a little snapshot - i enjoy all the implied backstory going on. the thrill! the longing! the suspense! and i’m generally a sucker for spy aus, i’ll be real.

be kind, i beg you (14.9k) - post 159. oh this one is so achey… i love it. jon obsessing over “loved is past tense” and trying so hard to be Good to martin, while martin deals with mood swings from his recent emotional traumas. they try really hard and are very domestic, talk about gardening, and clean up the safehouse. LOVED THIS.

Egos (Marks/Jacks) that I have written for or at least actually have thought about HCS/other universes for:  (Just some brief rambles about them, please don't hesitate to ask about them :3)

  -Anti,   Two takes really, I like him soft, like him mean, hes just fun to write, plenty of different ways to spin why he acts out, what he is and all that. My current fav way to portray him is a missing piece of Seans soul, which means hes unstable as a ‘person’ (cough, not really a human but not, not human either.)  And how he has static filled blue eyes but usually hides them with the scary emerald green...

-Jameson,  I will always stand by this kinda universe i created with a friend aages ao that Shawn took away Jamesons voice when being puppeteered by an awful ink creature that shares his body.  Giving Jameson a lovely fear of knives, some scars, and some very damaged vocals..

-Crank, Oh my fucking boi, a near dead human spliced with a bunch of robot parts..human skin tangled with wires and a heart incased in metal..hes a right mess, a voice in his head that makes him feel all sorts of bad.. He tries his best..he cries oil,  I hardly get to write  him but I love him.

-Blank, another big fav oi, black hollow eyes..a tendency to faint... My Hc involves him having been in an accident that almost killed him, leaving him with a very rare heart condition. He also has an aura which..kinda ties into him having a few abilities and stuff. 

-Nes.. He started off as my own kinda Ethan ego, basically Ethan who was mistreated and really lost his marbles..hes great for the real twisted messed up kinda stuff, so dependant on others, a minor murderer, and has been eyed off by a certain ice cream driver for quite some time...

-Were eth,  Okay granted this was literally just kinda an idea that..Eth became a were wolf boi, fangs, tail, ears. Hes just a fun lil pupper

-Eden. Succubus Ethan basically, but well, he again kinda turned into his own thing separate from Ethan. He's got a tail and wings, and hes a lovely lithe thing. He doesnt dare do things without consent, just gets a bit touchy-feely when hes gone without any energy for too long. Very wide stunning saphire eyes. 

- Jackie  Oh my lad..Buff, trans, adorable, sweet. I always love tinkering around with how/what powers he has tbh..and like- I’ve always had the hc that his eyes are lilac?? or gold. Depending on things.. and he works either at a comic book store, a gym, or at the counter of a gas station. Gives the best hugs. Also I love AUS where hes a phoniex because of uhm?? Big fucking red wings??? YES.

-Hen, Getting his accent right is tough but other than that I love writing about the tired doctor living off coffee and ignoring himself in favor of others. 

-Chase The fucking best dad, sunshine lad. Running a vlogging channel and doing his best while combatting depression..I hc him to have chronic fatigue so he has to push himself extra hard. but He does well in trying to get better and look after himself and only slips up like any other helpless human. Very fun to write. 

- Robbie.   Sof.t zombie lad. Drown in a sweater. Stutters and is v quiet. Slow with speech. Struggles to see sometimes. Loves soft textures.Loves attention. Overall soft fucking lad.

-KOTS, To mean known as Simon. Actually v smart, big brain, very scattered n shy and nervous and squirrelish. Loves books n plants, loves nature. Red is his best colour. Warm sweaters and nuzzling and cuddling up. I always get torn between him being a hybrid of human/squirrel or just a lovely soft guy. 

-Yan ! My fem nb/trans gal! They’ll kick ass with their katana, have the hots for Bim, and looove Japanese culture and stuff. Very adorable. Loves pink. 10/10 love to write. 

-Technically I do have a muse for Mark, or..idea? I’m thinking about shoving it into my own oc/thing..but basically he got tortured n abused by Authy so hes not quite like the real life markimoo..just a nervous mess whose dealing with his traumas..

-Bing, Skater lad, yellow/orange eyes, sunflower vibes. Tries his best, clumsy as fuck, great for a laugh when hes not cowering under google. 

-Edward iplier,  Gah my doctor lad.. I have a hc that he Lost arm. In fire..or by dark n wilf.  He has heterochromia too!! One cho ceye one blue one. He is a fucking nerd (Minor adhd lets be honest) He fucking loves space and science and space/science related lights. He has a bat plus with spacey wings. He likes reading, likes being clean and is quite a quiet indulger in food which has left him with a big of a softer figure. Super gentle nature..nothing like the arrogant portrayal we got in some videos. 

-Angus   I love this man!!! Part Aussie, part irish, a whole lot of gruff old dad with a soft spot for nice people and animals, has his own big place, next to a large ass forest. Loads of scars. Loves boots and cameo coloured clothing. A lovely guy when you get past the rough edges.

-Jessy, Cowboy-   Choker with gold bell. Lil ears/horns. Spots. Shy but sweet. Hands and feet different colour to rest of skin. Kinda  fur ish feeling rather then just straight-up skin.  Pear shaped figure. Shy lad. Likes to take lots of naps, anxious easily but a big people pleaser too. 

-Ailan and Keros. Moth n butterfly boi.  (Literally just made up with a friend, just a random soft pair of lads tbh nothing too fleshed or spesh)

- Louie - Followed by a dark being/creature/spirit... Yet to determine what else about him, but hes got brown hair, pointed ears and looks lovely in green.

-Quinton  A Hybrid of Demon and Angel otherwise called a Guardian. Quirky, Pan as shit, great dress sense. Extremely calm. Can see auras. Lovely black feathered wings. Bright blue hair.  Kind smile. Works at a little coffee shop in his spare time.

-Ori  Very pure angel boy, previously owned and not very well treated by a god, came crashing down to earth with no memories but his wings intact. Some help him. 

-Lumi  Ghost boy! Died years ago under awful circumstances..now lingers around on earth, sometimes meeting humans who happen to be able to feel or see his presence, he has the ability to make himself solid for short periods of time. 

- Lucio Witchy..dragon soul something or other- Deaf.Paralyzed? In the arms??They might use alot of energy trying to hover around instead of having to use a chair..(I mean how many witches do you see with chairs??).. Although they could not have use of their arms instead, like..paralyzed from the shoulder down- they still have them but theyre effectively useless and easily sore.. (which might make magic really hard, cause theyd have to master it again without their hand gestures.)

- Eztli, Bit of a prick. Basically got cursed to have really weird blood that replished and rejuvinated too fast/too much by a witch he angered. So he turned the curse into a good thing and basically goes out offering himself as a human blood bag for vamps willing to pay in info, items, cash or uh..other services..  

- Gallio Photographer, has hypocalcemia. Haven't really done much else with him tbh.

-Aomi Warlock/witch in training. Downright awful at it. Young and lives in a nice lil cottage outside of the village he was abandoned in.

- Lucas A moonstone gem perma-fusion, he kinda has SPD/DID but he doesn't, cause..hes two gems that became one but not fully. Leaving him to be a bit of a mess and not as strong as other moonstones. 

- Kiyan. A little assistant android!! Created to assist, he can make portals!, He works at a post office. Hes under surveillance by the company that made him and isnt yet aware of many human customs/emotions.. 

- Alex  A very confused, overly optimist Alien who doesn’t know what they are. Come from the planet Eutychia, 4'3. They fucking glow. You know  Kilowatt from space chimps? think that. But hair n freckles and more human and just as  bubbly and energetic. 

-Locus  Mer/Fish boi!  Transparent fins, glowy patches, plays harp + loves music.

-Lir  A Tiny Octopus/Human hybrid lad. Makes little burble and trill noises. Quite harmless. Needs a home. 

Benji (Strawberry shortcake boi- Cursed tape /bandages. Demi half god.? One eye. Uses notes. To communicate but also sign. Really. Good sweets maker)

 Small bois (A collection of tinys because G/T is fucking great okay?)

- Tobias. Literally Made of hair gel. cleary, adorable, aaand Eats soap..amoung other non food items he probably should not ingest but does..

- Hinto  Guy made of foam slime. Very chill n laid back.

- Glowstick bubs. (Alo/aloke -  Green and blue  +  Siro - Yellow n pink.  + Mavi (Vi) Red and silver. + Roxy (Ro) - Orange and  purple )  They’re a cross between glowsticks and lava lamps and its epic- asides the fact they have like.half a brain cell each. Lots of sleeping n lazign around.

- Theo  A tiny ink creature.  A clever little lad, who likes to drawn and write n paint in ink and leave cheeky little black splotches everywhere. A very good writer companion tho. 

- JellyBubs! A collection of tiny sentient jelly babies, hungry lads will raid your cupboards. 

-Miel A tiny little bee boy! Loves flowers <3

Shirin Parvis. Crystal boi .. trained solider/ royalty.  Tried to warn people before the apoc hit and failed. Now tries to protect the small group of surviors he stumpbles across. 

 Zephaniah, mutation turns him into a  Chameleon basically, just.. a human one. He  Prefers Zeph. Big gamey Nerd-  gets a pet gecko.  16. Quiet. Loves Lazar skirmish and lazers. 

Moyachi, Cactus boi!! Plant bab. Loves water and has clear/lime green tinted aloe/herbal helpful blood. Spikes up at defense from bad people 18/ 19   likes drawing. Pretty grumpy and needs a break.

Colin, nicknames: Coco,  Lady bug lad, who is baby trans  mutation resulted in a weird Red/Orange skin condition basically.  Can predict weather v accurately.       Ballet/dance, 14   Likes cooking. 

Hotaru , Firefly bby  - Glowy bub with antenna,  possibly mutates wings.. Sassy and tired. Turns nocturnal as the apoc progressed. Also becomes Colins first love <3

Zeno  A Siren of sorts.  DC/ hip hopper/   Lost his arm in apoc.  He loooves music alot. Very purple aesthetic and checkerboards.

Liren Pichi, deaf peaches n cream aesthetic boi- Nickname Pichi.  He is alone during the apoc, sneaks aboard and ship and goes missing..

Blake Aglaia  A human with a gift of being able to put emotions into glass balls.. Red head, quite fem, but gay, sweet, but not mousy. 

Lynx ?? An alien and human, the alien somewhat resides inside its host but they coexist. Sometimes goes feral.  Alien half likes to go by Perse  (Percy)  They have cool looking saliva- viens that run down their arms that are pretty cool- sharper nails/claws. Tendrils. Large ol mouth. Lots of pointy ass teef. Lynx likes to train,go to gym, and kick ass. Big ass butch energy.

Demon fam:

Hyacinth  A six-armed demon with serious parent energy. Big gardener, his body grows flowers depending on his moods/strength of emotions. Purple neck length hair. Great at comfort and cooking. 

Rhys  A Demon with a great curiosity about humans has a sibling, Feri.  Rhys is a big nerd, but very hard to get to know. Not great with emotions, comes across a tad distant and cold without always meaning too. Loves candles and lots of autumn aesthetic. 

Anthos, AKa Ant. Rhys and Hy’s accidentally created/summoned a toddler.. and hes fucking adorable. 

Vato - V   Hy has another bub later on who's more purpley blue with red curled horns and 4 arms.. No tail.. 4 eyes. V cute and inquisitive. Less noisy and wreckless than Ant. 

Roommates:

Douglas Connelly  A regular chubby human bean! Learning to become a chef. He loves food, loves cooking and also loves dancing. Hes a big guy, big cudddler, but a little shy and akward at times. 

Donovan Amores  Real fricking cool and smokin hot Bartender with a love for dogs. Dougs roommate. Has glowing fuckin orbs- donates his heart to a fucking god is smooth as fuck, background heavily Spanish, moved when young.

Haris Alaksim Real name (lost in translation, Huitzilopochtli God of sun and war) ) - A god whom Dono is very close with and donates his heart two one every 3 years during the day of the highest sun. He is a god / Mouros.    Donovan refers to him as “Dios gentil”  or “ Viejo colibrí sabio”   (“El viejo colibrí sabio es un dios gentil” (The old wise hummingbird is a gentle god.)

Cypress The soul of the forest - Mentor of Rem. Very calm, very wise. Kinda like master oogway type. 

Unicorn boi, Hes rare, missing a chunk of his horn. Dont hurt him. He doesnt even have a name.

Fyn. Mushroom boy. Protects a gate. Lost his twin during a human-caused fire. Very mad about it. 

Fie. Bat boy. Loves fruit. 

Moh. Fairy/incubus hybrid.  

Tucker. Bunny boi, Best friends with Ainsley. Got some like, punk vibes about him, piercings n such. Not as soft as one would expect but still nice at heart.

Ainsley. Fawn boi, clums, shy, round glasses,  Looks smart but doesn't always know stuff. Very unsure of self. 

Experiment AU: 

Izekiel Iris A being of Paint. Hes made of paint. He has trauma from being experimented on. Slightly depressed. Loves art, loved creating. also regresses to try to deal with said PTSD.  Hard to get to know at first. 

Matty  (Matthew Libelle)   An experiment, part human, part lizard, part dragon. Much smol.  Hes fucking baby and i adore him alot please do ask anything and everything about him. 

Cult bois:

-Nero Aakil   (Means Genius/Orange blossom)   Orange bub  - Leader. Smart. Telepathic link with all cult members.  V corrupted…  (Parents were rich and ignorant)

-Mao Cerise   Pink - Ditzy, Looks after their ‘little bird’ (aka Jey) 

-Jey Michael Cherubim   Fallen angel -  Corrupted..desaturating and weak.. Was summoned by the cult and captured as a trophy. 

-Jaden Hirav  Looks after a garden of plants both harmless and some not for master. Previously Neros old pet..His  The family was alright but he was moreso raised by like his mum and bro. He was kidnapped from his garden and never seen again. The cult ritual to initiate him into the group failed and he was spliced with plants making him near useless to the cult.

-Rowan maverick - Now known as  Rogue- Red. Lost their tongue. Does Not follow orders to the T but gets their job done.   Has another voice/god/soul looking out for them… Very assassin ready, very perceptive. Wants to get out the cult but knows theyre too far in.. Cool glowy words in the air because they don't have their tongue. Possibly only lives of medication and vitamin pills..possible OD? Possible addiction. They struggle alot with it.

Can absorb certain amounts of electricity because of this they Got hit by  ightning once and has epic lighting scars!! Up arms..some on neck. All over his chest and back.

Bout to talk about my AUs/ story ideas so watch out I may go on for longer than I mean to. ( these concepts and ideas have a small to large sprinkle of Kallura through all of them, you’ve been warned my dude ).

Experimental

[ short summary ] Missions gone wrong, the future awry. Team Voltron struggles after the sudden loss of their leader, Keith. Now, trying their best to keep it together, they must continue on and save the galaxy. That is, of course, untill they get sidetracked by a weird Galran base that seems to hold answers to questions long past.

[ heavier/ plot description ] Voltron failed a mission horribly and in turn they watched their leader Keith perish because of it. However he didn’t truly die. No, he was spared, kept, and sent off for experimental testing. Galran soldiers, under the permission of the empire, sent the leader to a hidden base inside one of their colonized planets. There they test all sorts of things on him and other unwilling patients, from quintessense to faulty mind control tech. But when the planet gets attacked and liberated by Voltron the soldiers flee, leaving Keith in one of their cryo-pods on accident. Months later the Covyse ( those from the liberated planet ) ask Voltron for help in protection against pro-Galran members of their society ( some of their own having adapted the Galran way of life n giving themselves the name of Galvyse ). While investigating one of the abandonded Galran facilities, Allura sees the mice react rather harshly to a ripped up part of the metal flooring. The mice flee inside leaving Allura slightly dumbfounded. Calling up the rest the team, they are able to open ths hole and reveal a hidden experiment ward. Inside they find blood, pods, and information on a “ patient “ who had recently run away. Fearing the worst, after reading that the subject is “ violent “ and “ dangerous “, Voltron sets out to find this prisoner and hopefully either make ammends or stop them. This prisoner of course is Keith, or as he knows, Red. Red wakes up in an overgrown facility, hair matted, skin scarred, and memories non existant. He struggles to remember anything that’s happened to him, who he even is at that, but with the help of some friendly space mice he sets out to find out who he once was. I’ve only prepped this one for being a single chapter/ oneshot so when I kept writing and writing I began to get nervous that I’d run out of ideas. I’ve got a plan now though and I think once I fully finish this and clean the whole thing up I’ll post it to my Ao3 account ( @ chouchousen ). I wanted an action adventurey thing and I love stories that has an amnesiac character slowly remember the past. The Kallura in this one is minimal romance and more buddies but it’s there. Allura is one of the main povs and is the person who will actually run into and try to help Keith.

Fear Thy Future

[ summary ] When Slav tries to show off a mini portal maker things go wrong and he accidentally sends an Allura from another universe into theirs. This rough and rugged Allura seems to want nothing to do with team Voltron and leaves the team with questions upon questions.

[ heavier/ plot description ] After accidentally pulling in an alternate universe Allura ( going by the name of Atlas ) team Voltron must work to get Slav’s machine back and running as well as send the Altean home. However with Atlas’ aggresive nature, obvious battle scars, and just plain aura of mystery they can’t help but wonder what’s happened to her to make her this way. The truth is harsh, her life had been exactly like ( their universe ) Alluras up untill a surprise attack on the castle cost Voltron the lives of Hunk and Coran. From then Pidge falls in battle at the hands of a Galra and Lance, in a panicked frenzie, accidentally gets himself killed as well. With only Keith and Atlas as the remaining Voltron members, things are far from bright. The castle gets attacked once more and, having barely any ability to defend themselves, the two are split up. Atlas crash lands on a rough sand planet while Keith goes completely off radar, assumed dead. Entierly alone, Atlas plotted to avenge her fallen family, doing anything and everything to survive. Being plucked and thrown into a universe where she sees the faces of her dead friends was a lot for Atlas to handle, causing her to become hostile. Her specific past connection to her Keith making things feel almost painful. Team Voltron promises to give her some form of joy again and, after getting their portal machine working again they all set off to aid the roughed Altean. This one was one of my first AUs I made for Voltron so it’s prolly really weird n fucky timeline wise. In this I wanted to see an Allura of a bad future meet one of a ( semi ) good ( I say semi because allura fucking dying is a damn bad ending to ME ). Due to her and Keith being sole survivors they both grew close rather fast and Atlas fell for him without realizing it, thus making the sight of normal universe Keith so painful. She loves him, or at least her version of him, and seeing the normal universes Allura get to love him makes her envious. In the end I planned for the joy Voltron brings to her being the Keith of her universe getting found allowing them to reunite n something super sad n sappy like that. Idk this whole au was made after I read too many tragidy stories so oof.

The last two will have simpler descriptions ( hopefully ) for theyre less worked on/ not being written out as solidly.

The Red Mother

Keith is fully Galran ( called Yurak ) and at 8 he’s on his way to becoming a solider. But after his mom defects and the truth of his fathers death arises, Yurak tries to run away from the empire. In the process he bumbs into a giant red lion ship who offers to help him get out of there as long as he helps her escape. Together they get out of there and crash land on Arus where Red does her best to raise the young galran boy in the wild jungles. Years pass and Allura is awakened, thus the search for the Voltron lions begins but Allura is left confused when the Red lion is not only close by but here ON Arus and it seems she’s already got herself a, pretty feral, galran pilot. This one would be a slow burn Kallura I suppose. Allura slowly warming up to this weird galran dude that the red lion chose, but with lots of bumps in the road through the process.

Postcanon Positive

Postcanon positive is the happiest and most angst free au. It’s the one that includes Miza, Naveri, and Gassal! Follow the daily life of Queen of New Altea, Allura, along with her husband Commander Kogane and their three kids. Naveri the princess, Miza the roughhouser, and Gassal the quite one. Even with the help of uncles Lance, Hunk, and aunty Pidge, the Koganes have their hands full from politics to pet mice. This one is the simplest and meant for the making of mini comics and doodles. It’s just a feel good au thing that I have a lot of fun with. Ive got a similar versions for VF as well as DDP but neither include fan kids n like....i love creating fan kids soooooooooo.

YEAH SO ANYWAYS sorry for the uncleaned jumbles of text here. I guess this post is mainly for myself really so I can categorize and work better on all of these aus. Sorry to fill up your page :P but also not, this was fun to write down even if it is a bit messy.

this is written really really well. like super well. like definitely read it because it’s sorta a realistic take on nct and post-nct life. It focuses on jaewin after nct has sorta ended, and while jaewin’s relationship is bitter sweet and sorta haunted by past experiences, there’s also a huge emphasis on life itself, and how it can break down a person’s ability to cope and interact. It’s good.

Yes i have. I posted over most of my old fics with revised versions of them because the originals were so bad. I didn’t change much, just fixed the Many spelling and grammar errors

Yes!! if they have an account i always go on it to see their fics and if it is in a fandom i like i’ll try to read them

Y E S theres this one fic “Fragile Capricorn” and the author left kudos on my santa travie fic and i freaked out but also cried because thats the worst fic i’ve ever written but thats the one fic they read

literally all my reviews are nice it makes me cry but my favorite was one on “Phone Call” and it was “ THIS. this is the fic that got me into joetrick a while ago. thank u for showing me the light.” it makes me so happy i can convert people to ships i like

I’ve never gotten a mean review on my fics but i have gotten people sending me anon hate here for them, and yeah i do think that person meant for it to be insulting.

“Please update faster!!” I know they mean well but writing is hard

ff realignment- the evolution of fic preferences.

I would say that I have evolved in fic preferencing maybe 3 or 4 times in my lifetime. 

we can call this a fanfic realignment  (because i’m a hs senior in cali that just took civics-)

so basic story- i started reading fanfiction on friggin winglin when I was in the 6th grade in 2011.

okay here’s my shpeal on that. I got into kpop thru SHINee. SHINee was my #1. and honestly I really didn’t like winglin’s interface that much- and i’m pretty sure that’s understandable. the site is an archive that really just was filled with nostalgic memories- but anyways because of that i tried to find other fic sites. I played around with many, but settled my nomading fresh boob of a kpop fanfic reader at asianfanfics. the like top legacy of kpop fanfiction site imo to be honest. 

then again i read winglin on my old DSi. i didn’t have a smart phone or anything so...

OK RANDOM INTERSECTION. THIS WAS WHEN AFF WAS LIKE SO OLD THEY DIDN’T HAVE BOOKMARKS. THIS WAS OLD STYLE THEME WITH THE NOTIFS ON THE SIDE IN BLACK AND ORANGE TEXT. BEFORE FIC RECS. BEFORE ADS. BEFORE HIGHLIGHTS. THE TEXT SIZING. EVERYTHING COOL.  I REMEMBER HAVING STACKS OF POST ITS WITH MY BOOKMARKS FOR EACH STORY I READ- I READ SO MUCH THAT MY MIRROR WAS LIKE FILLED TO THE BRIM WITH BOOKMARKS I COULDNT EVEN USE IT FOR ITS OG PURPOSE ANYMORE. i still have most the post its to be honest.

okay by now, i’ve completely converted to aff. i have also completely converted onto INFINITE. my second gen #1. That new bias group. And I found them through a google link of dbskgirl4ever’s fic ‘Nothing’s Over’.  OK SRSLY THE DBSKGIRL4EVER FIC MOVEMENT WAS A PHENOMENON ON ITS OWN. SO MANY PEOPLE FLOCKED TO HER FICS. AND SHE ONLY GOT MORE POPULAR FROM THERE. this was also the time where dbskgirl4ever fics were o p e n. before the wall came up. i was lucky enough to befriend her in her more trusting days so i had access to her friends only fics altho (that really upset me because guysss just stop plagiarizing her :( i would reread her fics if i could but now theyre closed to even friends.)

I started playing around with reading any group fics. because at this point, i was so driven into kpop that i loved so many groups. too many tbh. also towards the end of the timespan i started delving sort of into yaoi. boyxboy sweetness and it felt really... weird. ESPECIALLY when I started reading smut o m g i tried it out on my.. 15th birthday because i thought what the hey, we 15 now. even though thats... not 18+? idk how i thought back then.

2014 BOY GROUP fics. no pairing. character centric fics. vampire!au fics angst fics smut fics

for the most part the biggest difference i would say is the transition from liking oc girlxboy fics to JUST boy group fics. less to none oc. that was a major transition that needed to be stated. the main groups i read were INFINITE, B.A.P, B1A4, VIXX, NU’EST, etc. i avoided exo fics like the plague tbh. although there were times when i admit reading some because they were written so well.

mid-2016-2017 EXO yaoi fics. o n l y vampire!au fics abo!verse fics supernatural fics angst fics smut fics more domains! AFF, LJ, AO3

okay so this is the now. the reason i didnt have 2015 at all is because I had a year or so break from fanfics. I literally died from fiction and aff for a long while. and im just gonna slip in that the reason was school and relationships. tldr got a bf and then when we broke up like- i dont even remember- 358 days later? i just dived back in for comfort and HERE I AM :D being really bad trash once again- my part time life job- as i slowly transition into a young adult o m g. the first quartile of 2016, i slowly fell in love with e x o because of school- blog post about it here- and from there it was right in alignment with the breaking of ups so i ended up trying out exo fics and i just FELL IN DEEP LOVE. and now i just cant go back. I can’t read non exo fics. i cant really accept oc fics. i like yaoi and i like exo. that’s all there is to it. idk how my lense went exo gay fics in an instant. i ship exo with exo. any exo pairing i can see it. bts? nope i can’t ship bts i just don’t see it. i really wish i did though, because there’s some really good looking bts fics out there on the domain. 

conclusion

so the main reason i wanted to just let this be out here is because it’s just hard to grasp. crazy to notice how much a person can change in a lifetime. years may seem long, but looking back it was over a course of only 6 years. that’s pretty short to keep changing fic preferences. especially in my case how drastic it changed?

i went from SHINee x OC fics to EXO yaoi only fics. like woah. my mindset back then was ‘yaoi is sorta weird. i cant imagine boyxboy fics.’ so i never touched them. i couldn’t really read them because i just didn’t see an interest to it and i couldn’t picture it. i typically don’t read what i can’t imagine. but now my mindset is like ‘i cant handle oc fics. a fake character- especially a girl- isn’t what i want to read about. I want to read about real people. real idols. exo pairings are also very hot (couldnt help myself)’ idk sorry if you dont see it. it just feels so... wow to me. 

just random thoughts i have.

(o and if u noticed how i never grew out of my vampire!au and angst!au phase then pat yourself on the back. i just never grew out of them tbh. i’ll love vampire!au fics forever. vampire knight before kpop was my life. that’s why.)
