My follower count has been creeping up over the past few weeks and I’m starting to feel overwhelmed. This is just a heads-up that another soft-blocking spree is coming.

UraIchi Week 2024
Monday, July 1st, 2024 - Sunday, July 7th, 2024
AO3 Collection
Full Prompts List Submitted This Year
(Click images to enlarge. Alt text under the cut.)
What is UraIchi Week?
It’s a week-long fanworks event to promote the Urahara Kisuke x Kurosaki Ichigo ship. There’s no sign-up, it’s just for fun, and everybody can participate. Completed works and wips are both acceptable, and any type of fanwork (fanfic, fanart, gifsets, etc.) is welcome. NSFW and/or potentially trigger-y content is allowed, although please remember to tag your works properly.
The ship itself can be written romantically or platonically, as lovers or friends or even enemies, so long as it stars these two characters together in some way. Poly ships are also fine so long as Ichigo and Kisuke are still the focus of the fanwork. And crossovers and fusions are also allowed even if it isn’t one of the given prompts for the event. Basically, anything goes, and the only criteria is that it has to be UraIchi-centric.
Posting:
UraIchi Week is hosted here on Tumblr and on AO3. For posts on Tumblr, remember to ping @uraichievents and tag #UraIchi Week 2024. For AO3, you can add your work(s) to the collection linked up above. You are also welcome to join the UraIchi Discord server if you haven’t already and come and talk about what you’re working on!
Themes:
July 1st, Day 1: i've met you before / i'll meet you again / this is the first time we've met.. right?
Time Travel / Dimension Travel
Identity Porn / Hidden Identities
“I've suffered from traumatic dreams of my past lives since I was a child, and I'm just now realizing that coming up to a beautiful stranger who looks like someone I've seen die a thousand times in a thousand different ways at a bar and asking if we've met before sounds a lot like a come-on haha no wait come back that doesn't mean I'm not desperately attracted to you please kiss me again” AU
July 2nd, Day 2: It's fact that killable problems are not real problems.
Murder Husbands
Ichigo is Deadpool / unbreakable / any other accidentally immortal being who is really kind of annoyed about it (because it’s boring, and he’s still young enough to be within his lifespan, but it sure takes the fun out of fighting).
All the times Ichigo died, he ACTUALLY died, he just came back. Every time he comes back, he comes back Wronger.
July 3rd, Day 3: Things I Should've Told You / Things I Don't Tell Anyone Else
The skeletons in your closet are about to overflow. Would you like me to tidy it up?
Ichigo is experimenting with self-expression, a hobby, etc., making up for lost time as a regular teenager. Urahara is always the first one (sometimes only one) to see or hear about a new idea.
“The person I trust most is you.”
July 4th, Day 4: Sword and Shield
I am yours to command, use me as you please.
Shiba!Ichigo and Second Division!Kisuke
Summoner/Mage AU: Paired summons who are good apart but unmatched together.
July 5th, Day 5: That One is Mine
Hollow Instincts / Feral Protective
Possessive!Kisuke: He stepped aside for Sui-Feng because Yoruichi was always master first and friend second and love interest never, and because Yoruichi wanted her in a way she's never wanted him. But Ichigo is different, and everyone soon realizes that when Kisuke truly wants something, he always gets it in the end.
“Death can’t have you. You’re mine.”
July 6th, Day 6: Monsters come in all shapes and sizes. Some are born, some are made, and some decide being a monster's pretty fucking cool.
Visored!Urahara Kisuke AU / Vasto Lorde!Kurosaki Ichigo AU
“Ichigo forges a friendship with his Hollow in the Shattered Shaft” AU
vs. Gotei 13 AU: Ichigo time travels back from a future where he was chained to the throne as the next Soul King by the Shinigami.
July 7th, Day 7: Creator’s Choice!
As always, the above prompts are all optional, and you’re free to come with your own ideas. You can also find an excel sheet with all the prompts submitted this year linked up above, so feel free to look through that if you want, and you can also make a copy for yourself.
And that’s it! We’re looking forward to what everyone comes up with!

Definetely noticed how much I am learning about the game through trial and error. Some details I just don't notice, until a certain moment where it clicks in my head.
Earlier this morning I rewatched the videos from the developers and noticed they did show closeups of a few crew members, including Muir and I was like- Wait, that's him!
I remember watching that video before, but not quite understanding who these characters were, or maybe the way they got rendered threw me off.
Seeing how much I am learning here makes me wonder, how come I don't do the same with other topics? There is so much I could learn, if I had the motivation or the drive. It's hard on some days.
Either way, I feel like making a small post for myself with various links/image references. At one point I have to make a mega post to link each of my research posts, so that it's easier to pinpoint.
Here are some face closeups of a few crew members
Innes (I am sorry everyone it looks like he's half bald)*

Muir

Brodie, Edit: I think the two images are actually Dobbie? But I'll check up on this in the future again

O'Conner (This one was a bit hard to identify, but some folk on discord helped me)

Roper

*In the Cantines I noticed another person that looks similar to the model, that I linked to Innes. Tho that person wears a red suit, while Innes wears blue. Tho I still think the above pictures fit for Innes, we never get to see him without his hat. So it's hard to say for me.

Helpful Link for the Achievements (scroll down for a List of Achievement Timestamps):
(I still need 3 of them)
Ripped 3D Models on Sketchfab (You need an account to view Muir, Addair, Trots and Rennick):
What I also did was looking through reddit to find tiny pieces of information here and there. I am not sure how deep I want to dive in for this game, considering it's quite time consuming to check small details (replaying the entire game again each time). But here are two Screenshots I grabbed from TheChineseRoom's comments on Reddit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And of course their Youtube Channel has a bunch of Videos about Behind the Scenes. Quite interesting listening through them. Helps me to get a small glimpse into the Industry and how things work.
I think I have rambled for long enough, I gotta tidy up XD Been posting so much about this game, hope it doesn't get annoying.
Either way, if anyone has something else to add to this, feel free to tell me.

hello!! i am troxler (trox if you're nasty) and you might know me from my xwitter @ broadcastrelay or my old experimental art blog @hand-in-hand-again .
this blog is sfw. i have a more reblog-heavy nsfw sideblog, @heartshapedsignal , where i can place aesthetics, rb art that i like, Cronenbergpost & generally toss up more intense horror things & keep this one somewhat more tidy + personal-art-oriented. follow my alt if you please; although it's unlikely i'll ever post anything too explicit, there is nsfw/🔞 potential, so again, heartshapedsignal is 🔞 just to be safe!!
i have a throne account here if you'd like to support my work by helping with supplies & thereby earn my eternal gratitude:
commissions are currently closed & i will update here & on xwitter if that changes!!
i do have discord if you'd like to chat, you can DM me for my username. i'm vision impaired & it's a little easier for me than tumblr DMs (scalable font. properly mapped keyboard that allows me to hit the right keys occasionally. you know 👁️)
i am sometimes slow to respond to messages, but i don't expect you to be available all the time either--i answer things when i have a moment, & i assume others do too ✌️ i have the temperament of a displaced 11th century anchorite, am simply not adapted to the tone & pace of centralized social media.
i also unfortunately cannot voice call or stream/screen share because i am a millennial (just kidding, it's because my phone is almost 9 years old & it overheats when i check my e-mail)
learn a bit more about me under the cut ✂️
i was dropped into this simulation in the early 80s, i'm a disabled artist (vision impaired - [ask me about my atrophied optic nerves] - & have some other physical Issues so i use a cane) & my wife and i host two black cats, roughly 35% of a mannequin, and a whole lot of dolls.
all my art is trad/physical media (haven't figured out a way to make digital art accessible yet. maybe someday!!) i like to sculpt in epoxy, plastilene, polymer & stone clay, i like to mold & cast in resin, make & customize various types of dolls, & build puppets; i do custom framed work, mixed media & textile stuff like sewing & embroidery; i paint in oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache & water soluble graphite & i love ink, markers, crayons & whatever cheap & weird stuff i can get my hands on.
i have a particular affection for props, prop replicas & hypothetical in-universe items, & i like things that are handsome, durable & believable. i'm versatile & innovative, & i'm at my happiest when i'm exploring technical processes. i have quite a bit of knowledge about techniques & materials. i love a challenge!! currently all my sewing is done by hand, i have trouble controlling pedal-operated machines.
my favorite thing is horror coated in a fine layer of nostalgia & sprinkled with history. that seems highly specific, but you'd be surprised how many things fit the criteria. i tend to fixate on characters & concepts & do a lot of art about it - a habit i developed while i was re-teaching myself to draw after the changes to my eyesight. my output is largely therapeutic. sometimes people like it. maybe you will too!!
a good amount of my work is fanart & will be tagged as such/otherwise linked to the appropriate project, original work will be specified & have its own tag.
at the moment i make a lot of work related to the independent psychological horror unfiction project Welcome Home, created by ' partycoffin ' here on tumblr.
that's all for now!! 👁️‍🗨️📺

i'm afraid i have to go out on my own for a bit !!
— but i will return, eventually, with lil gifts for us all 🌱✨️
navigation !!
Tumblr media
this is my 'running away to the woods' moment.
i've been putting a lot of pressure on myself recently — since last year, to be honest — and i've been trying to figure that out with myself while also still being active here, but — i don't think it's working. i've known for a little while now that i need to take some time away from here in order to allow myself to write at my own pace, but 🥺 i simply did not want to leave 🥺 because i am going to miss each and every one of you 🥺 but !! sometimes we have to make the hard decisions !!
i really want to clarify that this is all my own doing and not because of anyone. you have all been so patient and kind and forgiving, to an extraordinary amount, and i hope you know how grateful i am !! my sanity would have broken down much sooner, had you all not been so LOL i am and always will be my own worst enemy though !! so now i need to get out of my own way and stop taking advantage of the grace everyone is giving me !!
i don't know when i'll be back, but i will 💐 once i have some things finished and ready to go, i will come back to share them with you all !! southern charm and pleased to meet you will be finished and queued up, and i plan to have some other little one-off things that i hope you will all enjoy.
so this isn't goodbye !! just a ta-ta for now kind of deal !! i will still be active on discord, and i will give it out if you'd like to see me there !! and i will also still be on twitter ! you may see me around occasionally to do some tidying up; i'd like to make some changes to my tagging system, update my masterlist, change my theme maybe. but i will be around !! never too far !!
sorry that this is coming sooner than any of us would have liked, myself included !! but i promise to come back with all my unhinged thoughts and lil nonsense as soon as i can 😌🌱🦋💐🍓

Pu, when you first started brainstorming for Solivaga, how did you record your ideas? Did you write out the story as a text document? If so, how detailed was it? I've got an idea for a comic that I want to start, but right now the entire thing lives inside my head and I don't know how to begin putting it elsewhere.
Hello! First, it's very endearing to hear someone still calling me Pu, so ty for the grin. When brainstorming both at the beginning and still now, it's a combination of brainstorming ideas with friends over discord, or (apologies) endlessly spewing ideas at friends, or spewing large idea writeups to my own discord window sometimes, or I just write first-pass stream of conscious ideas down in (used to .txt, but I swapped to Scrivener a while back since it's easy to keep things tidy. I also copy-paste the discord conversations into the scrivener file to make sure those LEAVE discord. do not use discord as a storage device if you can help it.)... so, basically, I just find a place to get it out of my head and I start writing. If it's a half-finished idea I'll seek to talk about it, or I'll just work through it on my own as I write. Scrapple is great for outlining timelines and chapters once you have something more solid, too. Best advice I can give is to just make sure it leaves your head. Never ever leave something in your head... find someone you enjoy brainstorming with, or someone who you trust to listen, or just make a chat with yourself and spew it all down in there if you don't want to share it with anyone yet. As long as it leaves your head, that's all that matters. You can start cleaning up things from there. Challenge yourself with the question "okay, how do I want to start this?" and imagine your opening scene/chapter, and start writing it down. Even if it's just a synopsis, just write it down. It's easier to work to an outline from there, and to a script from there.

Hello there!
Every time i see one of your bound books, i just sit there with my jaw on the floor in awe. They look so stunning, everything is so cohesive, and your creativity amazes me every time 🥺💕
I'm about to fanbind my first work and I wanted to ask if you've got any tips or things you wish you'd have known earlier? Like, I know it's gonna be far from perfect and the process will probably be rather stressful for me (perpetually impatient perfectionist), but maybe you had a moment of "oh man this is so obvious, how could i go wrong there"?
I hope you're having a fantastic day, and I'm gonna admire your work a little more rn ✨
Hello and thank you so much. Reading your message definitely made my day <3
I'm very flattered you like my bindings and glad they feel cohesive. I'd love to say 'that's because I plan them so meticulously', but to be honest, I rarely know every detail of what I'll be doing for a bind when I start XD
Congratulations on the decision to jump down that rabbit hole!
Sadly, I can't really give hints on the purely self-taught approach, because I have indeed formal training and never had to find it all out by myself. There are great tutorials though and while some are really good and in depth from a professional perspective, they might be also difficult to follow for beginners when you still learn the terms for everything. Don't feel bad for starting with a tutorial you find easier to follow.
But still I can say, accept that you will make mistakes and there will be flaws. There will always be flaws or things you find you could improve on (at least in your eyes and even if no one else sees or cares for them). Don't be too hard on yourself when you make them. Take it as a lesson learned and a chance to improve.
Be as tidy and accurate in your work as you can. Your skill will improve and it will get easier to get the hinges right and corners neatly covered and all that.
Keep your work place clean (and a wet cloth and towel nearby to wipe your hands from glue frequently, that will help a lot with not getting stains on your book).
Don't be afraid to mark later covered parts of the book. Like, mark what side is front and what is up on the spine and on the case. Neither will be visible in the end and it really helps a lot. Still it happens that you case in upside down. So even with marking, double and triple check when you're about to do something that will be harder to correct later on. (Especially, make sure you gathered your sections correctly and all the pages are in the correct order and orientation before you sew!). Casing in upside down is annoying, but to be honest, it's not the end of the world and often an easier fix than the wrong order of pages or worse, a forgotten section!
I know its easy to want it all at once, high end materials, perfect typesets, immaculate bindings (I know I do), but give yourself the time to develop the skills needed, otherwise it can be very frustrating and might not give the joy one hoped for.
And finally, don't be afraid to ask questions! I find that most people (myself included) are open and willing to help if they can. I find the Renegade discord server to be a great community for that. A lot of people of all levels of skill and experience share their resources and knowledge and try to help each other there. (Be warned though, the server has grown intimidatingly huge, but still people try to help you from typesetting questions to fix printer issues to explain grain direction and how to build a case at pretty much every time of the day and night.)
They are also just generally nice and fun people and it's up to you if you prefer to lurk and learn or want to chat too.
I hope this helps a bit. Have a wonderful day yourself ^^

LOWER ACTIVITY WARNING !
Starting from next week, my free time will be drastically reduced compared to how things have been in the last few weeks. I won't be around much, so this blog will probably become more low than moderate activity, depending on my work schedule.
A couple of things:
The queue will be slower and I might use answered asks / memes / dash games as fillers, in place of replies
While I'll try to answer stuff more or less chronologically, I'll favour the threads I have more inspiration for (which tend to be the plotted ones) and also the people who engage me more both OOC and IC (basically my mains). It's nothing personal, it's just to go easier on me
If you want to talk to me, you'll have better luck trying to reach me on Discord than here!
For the sake of my sanity, I'll clean up my mutuals list to tidy up my dash. I'm going to SOFTBLOCK the people I'VE NEVER INTERACTED WITH / WHO NEVER TRIED TO REACH OUT (through memes calls / starter calls / plotting, or my interest checker)
In relation to the last point, if you find yourself softblocked and want to remain mutuals, here's the explicit permission to reach out to me and let me know.
Please, LIKE OR COMMENT on this post to let me know that you've seen it. Thank you in advance for your patience!
~ Scotty out!

━━ ˟ ⊰🍁ALL GOOD THINGS WILL EVENTUALLY come to an end, this was a lesson learned throughout his four hundred years of captivity in this domain. The Fatui's world was hardly sustainable for the growth of flowers, their fragility oft crushed beneath the heels of the strongest ; petals scattered and stems bent disproportionally. The flora that survived the assault were usually left for the vultures to finish off while the remaining few watched from the shadows, daring not to interfere...
Niwa was one that ventured back and forth into sunlight and darkness, wandering that mirror's edge. The note left upon Scaramouche's desk to request a moment of his time was one such occasion of scurrying through the sunlight's gaze. Though it features warmth, it also makes for easier spotting -- a curious sort that wandered in might glimpse upon page and notice name written. Old Inazuman text is not impossible to decipher with enough scrutiny, after all.
       My dearest friend,
If you'd be so inclined to spare me a moment of your time, I'd like to catch up on all that we've missed these last few centuries. With my mind cleared and enough time passed between last meeting, I thought a bit of privacy somewhere less likely to be barged in upon would make for a better conversation. If something will sweeten this offer to you, I'll also be providing tea just as we remember, though you won't see me sipping it until it's no longer bitter.
       Signed,        Niwa
Door left unlocked and mask tossed to rather organized desk (having only a stack of papers and a quill pen, it's easy enough to keep orderly), cracks heavily visible upon its surface, he kept the tea kettle warm through the portable stove. His flooring is sparse, made of stone, so the only downside is the soot that he'd have to clean later, but he ignored that, opting his attention more upon tidying his space up. It's barren and looks cold inside, and, often times, it is... There's hardly any furniture, the bed is thin alongside t sheets, yet he still smooths them over before taking a seat, breathing deeply in the familiar scent of tea, memories drawing him back.

Hey loves. I was going to wait 'til this weekend but I'll just crack on with an update now. Apologies for this long ass post, but the time has come for a big old change with the way I play here. I've been writing on tumblr since 2013 and whilst I don't want to give that up fully, I can't sustain things the way I have been doing.
To give insight on how my life's been running (not that it's all that much, but it's a lot for me), I've been trying to cram in up to 42 hours of work a week; a social activity nearly every evening; time with my family; time to work on my personal writing as well as fanfiction; time to learn languages; time to even vaguely tidy my house. I'm not keeping on top of my health mentally or physically, I'm neglecting my cats and my environment and my husband and I'm sure as heck not getting exercise or a moment to breathe. In that one hour or so each day in the working week I'm trying to desperately cram in tumblr like it's some sort of job instead of having proper fun with it.
I am now making the tough decision that I will be retiring a large amount of my writing partnerships, some with whom I have written for a long time. I'm sure this will have a range of reactions from 'sure dude that's cool' to abject disappointment and anywhere on the spectrum of that is valid. For my own health and life balance, I need to do this, so to those of you I part with, it's been wonderful writing with you and thank you for the memories and scenarios we've built together. I should be messaging most of you, but if you're someone who hasn't replied to any threads for a while I may just quietly slip off. Some of you will be on shared discord servers so you won't lose me there.
I will be keeping things Loki is absolutely frothing to continue, and this doesn't mean I'm not open to picking things up here and there as my whims decree. I will possibly also start replying to things out of order if I can find the balance between impulse and my desperate need for rigid structure. But that's the long and short of it. I want to limit my amount of partners so I can enjoy fully and more frequently the stories we're telling together and maybe even engage a bit more instead of only playing writing tennis.
Thanks for understanding, everyone xxx

whats your writing process like?
Hi! Sorry for taking a bit to get to your ask, I've been taking my time to make the most comprehensive answer I can, and that takes a bit of thinking on my end to figure out what my process really even is.
My process can be divided into 6 (and a half) steps, which greatly blend and blur together, but that'll I'll separate out for an easier time telling you.
I will be using the 'A Guide To Becoming A God's Consort' AU (Also known as Cult of the Cat AU) and all its works as examples throughout this list.
Step 1 - Base Idea
The base idea is where it all begins. It's the gimmick of the story. What is the main focus of the story? What is this about? For CotC, that was it being a Cult of the Lamb adaption, with the Puss x Death ship. Strip away everything, and that's what this story is.
Step 2 - Rough Plot Ideas
Once I have the base idea, I start figuring out more. What ships will there be? How do I want this to feel? Do I want it to end happy, or sad? What are some of the things I want to happen? This isn't anywhere near complete, and is rather just a general idea about what I'll want. CotC actually started a bit unusually to most of my AUs. Rather than start writing with any proper ideas, I started with 'What To Do If Your God Propositions You (A Guide)', and that did not have a whole lot of thought put in it besides 'tentacle smuttiness and CotL crossover'. The planning of the plot of 'What to do when you fall in love with your god (A Guide)' came later, when I made the decision to take this beyond a smutty oneshot.
Step 3 - Peer Review
And then, I send the ideas over on Discord to some friends. This is only a recent thing for me, though putting this much time and thought into planning works is also quite new too. I used to wing it a lot, but I don't like doing that now. So, I send the ideas on over, and get criticism, as well as more ideas to add to it and further flesh out. We bounce ideas off of each other, building the ideas into more well rounded points, and fill in gaps. We also roleplay scenes, which I will later along the line adapt into the work.
Step 3 1/2 - Stew Time!
This one both is an isn't a joke, haha. More often than not, when an idea reaches the peer review point, and we've discussed it for a day or so, depending on how captivating it is, the idea then goes on the shelf. Or, it will go on the shelf during or right after Step 4. I have 8 work-in-progresses posted. I have 49 single, multichapter works, six series', and 26 oneshots in various draft states, but all in documents. All for Puss in Boots alone. I have more ideas that have gone through the first three steps that are just sitting in Discord, not put in documents. As much as I wish I could, I just can't write all the ideas I get, and it's only the ones that truly catch my attention that make it to Step 4 and beyond.
Step 4 - Transferring
Once I'm happy with an idea, and I transfer it over to a Google Document. I do this by copy-pasting all relevant Discord messages into an empty document. Then, I go through and tidy everything up to make it comprehensive, putting points together if they need to be, rewriting things to not be addressing other people, cutting out anything I decided against using, ect. I add to it as I see fit, further fleshing things out. Once its all ready and tidied, it either gets shelfed, or it goes onto the next stage.
Step 5 - Writing
This is the hardest step for me to explain. I just pull up a new document, and get to it. I try and keep my chapters around 3k words now, while my oneshots vary, some being 10k+, and others being split to have multiple chapters depending on how I feel about splitting. I will also, more often than not, listen to music, sometimes instrumentals, sometimes with lyrics depending on if I want the music to match the mood of what I'm writing, or if I am able to focus on writing if I have lyrics. If I have roleplays I want to add to the work, then I copy-paste them over, and rewrite them to fluff them up and make all the responses blend together seamlessly. I write until I reach my minimum word goal and feel I am at a good stopping point. I don't write drafts. What I post is what I wrote the first go around. If I don't like something, I will amend what I don't like, but other than that I don't do drafts.
Step 6 - Editing and Posting
These happen near simultaneously, so I'll just put these together. I do two rounds of reading and editing. I read it in the document, correcting any spelling, grammar and HTML tags. Then, I put it all into AO3, and go to see the work preview so I can check its all formatted correctly and see if I can pick out anymore mistakes. Once everything is ready, I post.
So that's my writing process! Titling and summary writing always varies as to when I do them. Sometimes they're the first things I come up with, other times its more around the middle, most of the time its the last. It depends on when the idea for a title comes to me, and when I can figure out a nice way to summaries the work.
Other authors, feel free to hop in and share your processes!

Huh I need to update my to-do lists I guess. That might help the overwhelm. Tho dad did come over and helped me clear a bunch of junk out of the way, and that's already helped quiet the otherworldly sirens blaring in my head. Still be helpful to make a list probably, tho!
Finish tidying the stairwell! Just need to get things less sticky-outy on the shelving unit I got at the top of the stairs... ✅
Wash Tupperware if nothing else, so I have something to preserve Simon's expensive wet food in... ✅
Consider restructuring streaming schedule, since two days in a row leaves me in recovery mode for a couple days... maybe Wed-Fri-Sun?? Also definitely seems like evenings are best, around 6-7pm central... hrmmm.
Put some effort into making an art commission post/option on ko-fi, since doing commissions does bring me a significant amount of manic glee. I almost have a work time average figured out for some things.... I really prefer saying I'll draw for $15 an hour, though. Keeps me focused when I'm "on the clock". But I think the majority of commissioners are used to flat rates.
GET TRACFONE SERVICE CONNECTED TO THIS PHONE ALREADY FFS ✅
Finish the Affiliate setting up!!! ✅
Make emotes!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaa what emotes should I make??? Ghaleon??? Ghaleon???????
Research setting up a Discord server
Update patreon!!!!!!
Reply to people!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay that's enough for right now.

Love you Ames! Prepare yourself for some unnecessarily LONG and introspective answers 😂
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
Blue Blood. Probably goes without saying 😂 however! I'll pick from my one shots too! Of all of them Make Me Come Undone stands out the most. AND I'LL TELL YOU WHY.
It's not just that it's SUPER long, it's not just that it has more orgasms/orgasm descriptions than any other fic I've written, it's not just that it's super fucking kinky and I still kinda blush when thinking about it- it's that it was fucking hard. Sometimes when writing fic it's a straight shot from start to finish, you feel inspired from the get go and that carries you to the end. But other times? You run out of steam. And you feel like giving up. And it gets really difficult.
Make Me Come Undone started off as a side project to refresh me from Blue Blood, as a gift fic for @kissporsche (who was very stubborn about giving me kinks, she was all "but I'll love anything you write!!"). The motivating, main kink I eventually got her excited about was "overstimulation and punishment" and everything else was kinda up in the air. I was keen to start it, inspired to explore it. But I ran out of steam after 500 words. Maybe it was the intimidating factor of knowing how many orgasms I'd have to creatively and non-repetitively describe, or maybe it was the fact that it was meant to be reasonably short but the finish line just kept getting further and further and further away, making progress feel stagnant. I don't know! All I know is that eventually I was at the point of having to either decide to abandon it temporarily, or force myself to knuckle the fuck down and do it. You can probably guess which one I went with 😂
The writing process was a constant game of oh we're at 3k? Probably well over halfway. Oh we're at 6k? Uhh I'm sure it'll wrap up soon. Shit 9k? What the hell is happening?? 12k??? This is getting out of hand???? 15k??????? WHAT HAVE I DONE. Honestly, after we hit 7k mark and I realised there was still so much I wanted to explore, the rest of the process was just laughing hysterically while tears streamed down my face.
As soon as it was finished, I wanted to just post it and move on (it was SUPER DIFFICULT not immediately shoving it under Kissporsche's nose, because she's my beta/muse and I crave her approval ahah) because I'm not a huge fan of editing- I'll give every fic a once over, and when it's really important (like blue blood) I'll invest serious time into it, but I prefer to be diligent during the writing process and re-read/edit sections as I go so that I don't really have to. I also tend to rely quite heavily on my betas 😂 But Make Me Come Undone had gotten to be so big, so fucking monumental, that I couldn't stand the thought of having done SO MUCH work on it, only for it to end up sub-par because I couldn't be bothered to edit. So I sent out a call on the discord to see if anyone would be up for reading it, because @kissporsche wasn't allowed to see it till it was done.
@mortimerlatrice volunteered, and I was like awesome! It's always a little scary getting someone to beta for you the first time--because you never know if your styles will clash, or if they'll be able to work in line with your vision, or if they'll invest as much love/care/energy into it as you want from them-- but I had a good feeling about Mort, who's art I adored. And then do you know what happened? This stunning individual, this saint, this god, went through all 15k with a fine toothed comb like they were being paid to do it. They murdered my commas, tidied my grammar, challenged my repetitions, suggested improvements, provided entertaining commentary, HIGHLIGHTED IT LIKE AN ENGLISH REPORT, poured over each section individually and collectively, re-read it at least 4-5 times, answered all my questions, investigated all my concerns, and spent fucking hours doing it. I was not only blown away by their dedication and competence, but I was personally humbled by their attention to detail and desire to make the fic the best version of itself that it could be. It had been my intention to have Mort edit it, integrate their changes/suggestions, and post it. But after I got that first draft back, I literally couldn't. There was just too much more that could be done to improve the fic, and after all the work Mort had done, I couldn't not do it. So, instead I religiously went through the whole damn thing again, picked Mort's brain relentlessly for various ideas/improvements, genuinely restructured entire sections, spent time meticulously investigating the dynamics/continuity for quality and consent-levels control, and just generally fucking worked some damn magic on that fic over the course of 2 more days, passing it back and forth with Mort, until it was done.
Editing Make Me Come Undone was the longest, most meticulous and most arduous refinement process than I have ever committed to for a single fic. So not only had it been quite challenging and taxing to write, but it had been a monumental effort to edit as well! But I tell you what. When Mort and I finally finished that last edit, and I could sit back and look at the whole thing completely, I have never felt more fucking proud of a fic. I was genuinely, deeply impressed with it. Normally, when publishing fics, there's always a part of me that thinks it could probably be better, or that maybe it isn't really that great, that's just a natural part of my nerves. But with this fic? I have never felt so absolutely, unabashedly confident that it was amazing. I was 100% happy with it. That was the reason I called it my magnum opus- not just cos it was impressively long, but because it truly is the most professionally, dazzlingly perfected fic I've ever written.
Basically tl;dr Make Me Come Undone was a hell of a project, but thanks to the magical talents of @mortimerlatrice, and with a little bit of extra effort on my behalf, it truly feels like the most high quality fic I feel like I've ever written.
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
I'm really terrible at these kinds of questions, cos I don't fuckin remember what I've written most of the time 😂 I remember having moments where I'm writing something and I feel moved by it, or amused by it, or excited about the layers to it, but I cannot for the life of me recall any off the top of my head. The one exception to this is "Better to dance with the devil than wait with god on your dance card" cos @kissporsche specifically pointed that out during their edit 😂
I'd be curious to know though if anyone does have any favourite lines of mine that come to mind? It's always really inspiring to see what impacts people!
Anyway, if you've made it this far I'm giving you a pat on the head and a kiss on the cheek for being such a cool fan!! I really appreciate you 🥰🥰🥰

🌺ROLEPLAY PINNED TWEET🌺
Tumblr media
(Oh god that's the first time I actually try to make something tidy and "aesthetic", send fucking help!!!! Totally inspired by @novaragno pinned post she taught me everything but I am a terrible student.)

CARRD
RULES BELOW
📔1. Everyone can RP with me I guess?
That's my first time so this mayyyyy change. If I ever sound weird or if I do something that is not supposed to be done on tumblr RP please tell me! I'm new in here so I may not know some rules!
📔2. Asks and threads.
I will answer asks as much as possible! We can continue an ask in DM if you want, that's fine by me! I usually don't share my Discord but I may make an exception if we become friends or if we RP a lot :) We can also make a plotted thread (I love that, even if well, I've only done RP in private so far!)
📔3. Language/Grammar.
English is my second language. Please tell me if I make a mistake, I'd be glad to learn considering it's supposed to be part of my work. We can speak in French if you speak French as well :)
📔4. Art/Credit.
Well, I guess I mostly going to draw my own stuff but considering my attention is all over the place, that may change. Icon made by @novaragno and face claim: Tomoe Mami :)
📔5. OCs.
I'll be playing with my OC, so why not play together? I'm perfectly fine with ocs!
📔6. Shipping and NSFW.
I'm fine with shipping as long as you respect what's written on my Carrd! Suggestive is fine but I'd rather avoid NSFW because: -It can make me uncomfortable -I don't know if I have any underage people in my followers so: Just in case.
📔7. Blacklist/TRIGGERS.
I don't really have any triggers (except maggots and pregnancy) but I'll follow your lead!
📔8. no AI. That's it. Couldn't be clearer than that.

. . .
Just a heads up, I will be busy tidying up my Apartment in the next few days, so if this blog isn't active it's mostly because of that.
In the meantime, if you need help locating certain tags, you can use the search bar for specific words you're looking for on my blog, otherwise you can use the FAQ tag.
The GGMiscQandA tag is also there for questions people don't normally ask, and just keep in mind I have a lot of info that is somewhat outdated compared to the info that Strive's Library content has, but even so I cite my sources.
Once again, thanks for following me, if you have questions, just put 'em in my inbox and I'll get to them eventually (also, please try to be clean and civil... it's bad enough we got porn bots on this site, I don't need that in my inbox, thank you).
I'm also on Twitter and Discord if you wanna chat with me sometime, but it's still going to be a while before I can game on my PC again... I need funding to fix the hard drive, fan, and graphics card... well, that's sorta what my Patreon is for (hopefully).
