He resolves to stay strong, because if you give Tim an inch then he'll take the whole damn continent.

"You don't have to, I suppose," Tim sighs, red eyes flashing from under his eyelashes. "I'll just be here...cold. Lonely. Wanting." He breathes the words against Jason's lips, and Jason whines. Christ. The things he does for this bloodsucker.

OH MY GOD FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE WHO IS TALKING ABOUT THE RAMPANT ANTIBLACKNESS IN THE SANDMAN FANDOM. THANK YOU HOLY FUCK

it's truly maddening (in all uses of the word) how entrenched the antiblackness is in this fandom. the lengths yt ppl go to ignore the black main characters. the mental gymnastics yt ppl engage in to call themselves antiracist while denying/downplaying/silencing experiences of nonwhite fans, and then continuing to perpetuate whiteness as the standard! it's not enough to include a black character as an aside in a fic. it's not enough to reblog the occasional gifset of Viv and tag it "queen." it's not praxis to have White Man No. 79 go on a brief rant about how racist The System is in a fic that otherwise devotes 100k words to that white man's interiority and personhood.

i'll be a killjoy. i'll do the work of explaining how antiblackness pervades these spaces. these are my primos/primas and none of us are free until all of us are free. but also at some point yt ppl gotta take some responsibility.
