It's nice to think of kindness- Wrong which Milgram character would kill you and why?
(Before we get into it, none of these are meant to be theories on what the prisoners did or why. These are just incredibly general statements on why they may possibly kill you with some references to canon. I don't want someone taking this thing I wrote for fun too seriously.)
Haruka: You take up all the attention even though you swear you don't. Then complain to him or near him about how unfair all this is and overbearing it feels to be fawned over all the time. He thinks it's bad to hate you, but you're pressing all the wrong buttons.
Yuno: You keep fawning over her. Well, not her actually, just whatever you decide to project onto her. It's at a point that she's certain you've made a completely different version of her up to love and she the person doesn't matter. She's kind of fine with it. You're clearly having fun, and who is she to be a kill joy. But you keep bothering her based on conclusions you jumped to and she's running out of patience.
Futa: You pretend like you care a lot about doing the right thing online. You know all the buzz words and playing the caring saint is second nature to you. Your reputation is spotless and from experience he knows that means you've probably got the worst shit in your closet. That you might be a hypocrite who puts on this nice rule abiding front just to excuse harassing others under the guise of anonymity. He's not entirely sure but he's dealt with enough bad actors to kind of see a pattern. It's none of his business though unless you point that sort of attention at him or someone he cares about. Which luckily you haven't, right?
Mu: You were just such bullied kid material. I mean look at you- Being the nail that stuck up and her the hammer that hit you back down. It could be for a lot of reasons. You're bad at reading the mood or you're good at it but just don't care to play along and indulge her. You're uppity and think things should work in some purely righteous or good way. You just can't let the people around you have fun. Why are you being so mean and judgmental, huh? It's not like Mu did anything wrong? Honestly, I think you kinda deserve this one- She's been nothing but nice and accepting of you and your whims but suddenly you wanted a high horse to ride when it came to hers. It's like you only care about something being wrong when it's convenient for you. It's either wrong when everyone does it or no one. Fair is fair, after all.
Shidou: I'm sorry you needed medical care and came to this private organ harvesting farm disguised as a hospital. It sucks that you came here for an out of your control health emergency, but he just can't help himself. Maybe this time, what he's trying to do will work out. You won't be alive to know, though. Take some solace in knowing he probably won't even remember your name after the paperwork is filed. This truly was a random act and nothing personal. Well, unless... No, it's best not to say. At least then you can pass on without the knowledge that your life was weighed like cattle for a state fair. Maybe your inferior existence can save another's superior one. Then your life will have really meant something even after all that. You just need to hurry up and die already so he can check.
Mahiru: You know I should feel bad for you, but how did you even start this? No, seriously? How did you manage to get Mahiru's attention. Even you don't know, it's not like you're particularly interesting. Honestly, you wouldn't even say you did anything that nice, just the bare minimum. Well, whatever you did, I guess you better keep it up. Who knows what will happen when she loses interest- Huh, where'd you go? Hmm... weird. They're probably fine.
Kazui: No. Man, you really have a bad habit of saying that word to the wrong sort of person, huh? That's unfortunate. It gets more and more difficult to let a person down easy these days. But damn didn't think you'd get killed over it. Well... Now you know how women at bars feel.
Mikoto: Is it really self-defense if all a person is defending is their reputation. I mean all it takes is a few ridiculous accusations to ruin a person's entire life these days. So, maybe- just maybe you should have shut the fuck up. Don't worry you won't be able to talk for much longer. His problem and you will disappear at the exact same time.
Kotoko: Why are you evil? Less than human in every way? Oh, I'm not asking that seriously. These are just the things you'd be wondering when she hunts you down until you have nowhere else to run. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, but you didn't think any of yours would make you deserving of something like this. But a crime is a crime. Evil is evil. This is just what happens when the same punishment is used across the board. You just never thought that board would include you.

Ways of being a father (Blue Lock)
Lyrics chosen and translated from Alligatoah's song Nicht adoptiert ("Not adopted")
Note: I didn't write something for every set of lyrics, but still wanted to keep some in to assign characters. Also thanks to @remy-roll for helping me a little 🫶 mwah mwah
gn!child!reader (reader is implied to be different ages in different parts)
If you're listening to this, you're alive, congratulations / I always knew you'd become more than a broken condom
Let's be honest, you weren't planned. Being a father initially wasn't part of his life plan, but then you happened. But he wouldn't replace you for anything in this world.
-Shidou, Barou, Karasu, Oliver, Noa, Ego, Raichi
Cause I don't believe in marriage you were born a bastard
-Oliver, Otoya, Karasu, Nagi
Sure, we love you, but there's a reason for that, kid / Nature arranges it like this so we won't kill you
Sometimes being a father can be frustrating and exhausting. But no matter how annoying you might get, his fatherly instinct always wins. In no way would he ever intentionally do harm to you.
-Barou, Ego, Kaiser, Raichi
It looks like you're family / Looks like it's just us now / We've got to get through it now, blood's thicker than beer / Sorry, you ain't adopted
-Lorenzo, Lavinho, Chris, Oliver, Karasu
I have no idea how to take care of children / But don't worry, I'll find a tutorial
He went into fatherhood completely without knowing what to expect. It all came a bit out of sudden for him, and he was too anxious to prepare himself properly. But when he held you in his arms for the first time, he knew he'd figure it out just fine.
-Nagi, Isagi, Bachira, Zantetsu, Kurona
The good thing is, I don't even have to share any knowledge with you / You can just read the wiki entry
-Nagi, Oliver, Zantetsu, Lavinho
I won't always be there for you, I have to party hard too / Did I say "party"? I mean "work"
Being a father doesn't mean that's the only part of his life now. He'll try to be there for you whenever possible, but there will be moments when he gets lost in other things.
-Otoya, Oliver, Karasu, Lavinho, Shidou
Joking aside, the ego-pig in me is happy that you are coming / Cause then I can play with Lego blocks
A part of him is still a child as well. And hey, being a father means he gets to play with toys again - that's something he can look forward to.
-Bachira, Shidou, Lavinho, Nagi, Isagi
Cause even though I'm putting effort and thinking about how / I can take the pressure off and still get you into bookstores / Something I do will lead to trauma, c'est la vie / I'll be the star of your psychotherapy, have fun
As careful as he is with you, he knows at some point he'll do something wrong. He's perfectly aware of how he won't always be the perfect father, but he's still trying his best.
-Barou, Ego, Noa, Isagi, Kunigami, Reo, Yukimiya
You're programmed for me, I'm programmed for you / Now we're sittin' here, I say now we're sittin' here / Sorry, you ain't adopted
He didn't choose to have you as his child, and you didn't choose him to have as your father. But still, you're perfectly made to be this role for each other.
-all of them.
You may not become president or student representative / Reality will throw your dreams in the chick shredder / I know what I'm talkin' about, life ain't no show
You won't achieve the greatest things in the world, and that's okay. You don't have to do that to make your father proud. He knows exactly what it's like to fail, and that's why he will always encourage you to reach your dreams, no matter how big or small they may be.
-Reo, Ego, Barou, Raichi, Kaiser, Tokimitsu, Yukimiya
You'll see my burdens, I've given them to you / If you think your genes are bad, they're Papa's genes / But you're my update, you can fix the bugs
You may not be a carbon copy of your father, but the similarities are undeniable - both the good and the bad.
-Ego, Barou, Shidou, Kaiser
In the beginning it's ambition like in a chess duel / You will emulate me until you outshine me / The balance of power is on my side - currently / But your chance is good, because Papa's withering parallel like a leaf
Being his child also means being his rival - in a fun way. If there's something to compete in, there will be playful competition. Board games, soccer in the backyard and running random races when you're just walking somewhere together - things like that.
-Shidou, Bachira, Karasu, Lavinho
This has to come out now 'cause later I won't be the same / When you're around I'm sure I'll write some corny shit / No more tasteless jokes, no more Hitler comparisons
He was more of an immature person before, but he knows after your birth he has to become more serious as a father - at least that's what society expects from him.
-Bachira, Oliver, Karasu, Shidou, Lavinho
I stand in front of the mirror and see a caricature / But I train every day for my father figure / I practice "La-Le-Lu" on the keyboard / And I subject myself to a motherfucking radio censorship / And I learn all the movie clichés, after birth / You'll get a wristwatch with your name engraved on it
At first, knowing he'll be a father soon felt so unreal to him. But the closer the day gets, the more the realization sets in. But that realization makes him nervous, so he's putting extra effort into learning how to be the best father he can be. And even though he doesn't want to be "like the other dads", he finds himself following every cliché possible.
-Zantetsu, Tokimitsu, Isagi, Snuffy, Yukimiya
Even though being strict clashes with my liberal nature / I'll pretend I'm interested in your Spanish exam
He doesn't care how much of a good or bad student you are, but he knows you'll have to pass school somehow. As much as he doesn't care about your grades, he pretends as if he does to keep you encouraged. But of course you'll get praise for your hard work when you get good grades.
-Isagi, Chigiri, Bachira, Ness, Yukimiya
I'll be mad at you for every adolescent booze story / But don't be afraid of me just because I fuck your mother
-Oliver, Karasu, Lavinho, Shidou, Raichi
I'm just an old cynic who writes frustration poems / But I swear I'll give it all to you till the end of my chapter
He'd do anything and everything for you. He will always make sure you feel safe and loved, no matter what age you're at. Even when you become an adult, he will always be your father and protect you as good as he can.
-all of them.

skin to skin - shidou ryusei
tags / warnings: kinda fluffy, shidou is a little confused about his feelings but that's okay, gn! reader, moderately suggestive content but nothing actually happens, not proofread
author's note: first actual fic??? i'm a lil bit bored so why not. i think shidou might be a little ooc in this perhaps but i tried my best! i'm also a little worried that i implied anything too much about the reader's appearance, so i am very very sorry if i did. constructive criticism is appreciated, though i might cry tbh. exams have me fucked up. enjoy!
his hands roam. they don't have any particular goal. he only glides his fingers gently over your skin, exploring the terrain while you sleep. the warm summer air is oppressive, so the duvet has long since been replaced for a much thinner, almost useless blanket. its use is less for warmth than modesty, not that such a thing was really necessary when shidou had already seen everything there was to be seen about you.
his hands traverse over your thighs, still hovering over with a touch so soft he might as well have been dragging a feather along your sleeping form. sure he might have seen everything, but had he ever truly indulged his other senses in you? perhaps he had tasted you, even some hours later you still lingered on his tongue. it's a bitter, salty taste that sent his nerves into overdrive when the first pang hit. he can recreate the moment in his mind, but it never gets him going quite as much as experiencing it does. thoughts are just thoughts, they're never true to the experience.
that's two senses shidou could tick off of his list of ways he knows you, and now he was about to tick off a third. he had felt you before. he held you tight and close, but the sensation was never what he was focused on. he was familiar with how light and malleable you felt in his hands, but truthfully he never indulged in the details of your body. why would he? at the end of the day, your relationship was largely transactional, with very few feelings atttached besides pure, unadulterated lust and passion. he knew your body the way a student might know a book for a class they had to take - they read the summary half an hour before the lesson, and have a vague grasp of the concept, but the details elude them. shidou decided for once to be a good student and learn those details for no reason in particular other than the fact that he was stuck in your apartment with you on account of him having been evicted for threatening other tenants in his old building, and the warm july night kept him awake.
so he goes about slowly studying you, trying not to rouse you from your sleep. his hand starts on your thigh, and slowly travels its circumference. you're laying on your side, back facing shidou, hair carefully tucked under your head (shidou had complained about it getting in his face while he slept before, and threatened to cut it off himself if you didn't do something about it), soft breaths escaping past your lips, and completely unaware of shidou's touch on you. he hopes you don't wake up and then misinterpret it for something more romantic and intimate than it is. he's just indulging his curiosity and trying to stave off the boredom from struggling to fall asleep.
he feels how soft you are, a fact he already knew, but never like this. he feels a slight dryness to your skin too, and thinks that perhaps you should invest in a good lotion, not that it mattered much to him. he doesn't care about something as menial as whether you're moisturising properly, but he knows you might. people less confident than him often look for silly insecurities that no one else could give a single shit about. he won't point out your dry skin. he doesn't care enough, he thinks.
his hands travel up further, and on the sides of your legs he can feel the evidence of the tight grip he held you in just hours earlier. he scowls slightly, thinking that something so unsightly and vulgar shouldn't be on you. it grosses him out a little, though he couldn't pin point why. he assumes its because someone like you doesn't deserve to have a reminder of someone like him on their body. shidou isn't completely satisfied with that answer, but he leaves it as it is, he's not a fan of overthinking things.
his hands now reach your hips. as his fingertips skate over the landscape, he feels stretch marks that go down your thighs and around to your back. he could follow these trusty guides to the back but chooses not to, he's too tired for that. instead, he follows them up to your hipbone, and he feels you stir. he retracts his hand, afraid you'll wake up and wonder what he was doing. any misinterpretation of his actions on your part could have devastating repercussions on the relationship between the two of you, and shidou makes an instant decision to lie and say he accidentally grazed his hand over you while turning in his sleep, should you interrogate him about what he was doing.
but you don't. you're still asleep, you just moved your leg a little, perhaps feeling his ticklish touch in your sleep, and assuming it was some annoying mosquito that came to feed from you while you slept. shidou waits a moment before resuming his late-night study session, listening to the occasional car drive by late in the night. light from the streetlamps and moon float into your open window, and the music from the corner shop across the road accompany it. the sound is tinny, and shidou is surprised it can even be heard all the way over in your apartment. the cashier is probably blasting it from the radio to stop the warmth from coaxing them to sleep.
a minute passes, and shidou gingerly places his hand back on your hip. with the way you've moved, he can slightly feel your hip bone poking out, and the change strikes him as a slight surprise. your soft body and his mindless journey have both been interrupted by the feeling of the hard, smooth bone of your hips. it's just a small intrusion though, and he traces it up and down with his ring finger a few times, suddenly conscious of how unpleasant his skin is compared to yours. callouses line his hands from long and difficult workouts; a figure like his came at a price. he's not insecure of them, but sometimes he picks at his callouses when he's bored and needs something to do with his hands, which in turn makes his skin raw, and lifting weights immediately becomes a much more painful activity.
amid his little sidetrack in thoughts, shidou's hand slips off of your hip bone, and ends up on your stomach. he knows for a fact that if you were awake you'd try to slap his hand off, saying that you feel fat when he places his hands on your pillowy tummy. its another insecurity that he doesn't see the value of. another pointless thought wasting space in your mind. he stretches his hand out over your lower belly, and gently tucks his fingers in on the far side, under where gravity has pulled your skin and organs to create a natural pouch. it radiates heat, and ordinarily shidou would retract his hand. he doesn't need something else to make him uncomfortably warm, not when he's already sweating slightly in the middle of the night from the hellish heatwave that feels like its attacking your apartment relentlessly. he decides this spot was made for his hand by the gods though, its the perfect size to provide him with a little grip on you, and the softness just makes it all the more perfect to hold.
the thought crosses his mind that if you were to wake up, you'd definitely misinterpret his actions. your presence is so soft and pleasant though, and your body is so perfectly moulded to fit into his grip that he decides just this one time to enjoy the feeling. he tentatively moves closer to you, yet again trying not to wake you, and decides he'll explain himself in the morning.

How we feeling about that timeline convo !!!!!!! Ahhhh !!!!!
(fair warning, I am ill. So very ill. Apologies to you and main tag D: )
HI BEANS ^> hiBI YOU CAUGHT MD AF A GREAF TIME <- just woke up from being out cold for about an hour
IT'S SOOOO INTERESTING TO ME SO ILL COPY MY THOUGHTS ON IT FROM SOMEQHERE:
(For context, since the timeline came out at 4am, I was kinda awake in bed for a while without my phone near me. [Literally had my heart pounding from the yuno's birthday lol, I may be a little ill] I was awake for. A long time trying to sleep.)
Inwas thinking about this when I couldn't fucking sleep for hours but it's interesting how Yuno says she's just playing nurse, as if it's just another role to play along for a little while longer
especially how she tells Shidou to shut up lol
"Don't you fucking dare make this into an actual thing you believe I am, I'm just doing what's needed"
Me when the doctor Shidou Kirisaki projects onto others his ideal vision of them!!!! rah!! Me when Yuno hates it when people try to project an ideal version of her onto herself to make themselves feel better!! (though making himself feel better isn't particularly what happened, he was simply telling her what to do with her life and she didn't particularly enjoy it!!)
So those were my original 5 am thoughts. Once I finally sat down and read the translated timeline at about properly at about? 7 am after sleeping, I was like well awoe.
I read Doctor Bunny's tl of it, so this one is kinda about it:
Yuno: Really?
....haha, shut up.
I don't want to think about the future.
And after all, one where I'm involved in something like whether a person lives or dies... Don't make me laugh.
I've been handling Tear Drop lyrics a lot recently while drafting posts for today and these lines genuinely read as Tear Drop lyrics:
Just shut it, will you? You know it all
And
I'm the one who chose, let you and you and you all in
Happy or sad? Why decide?
Where'd you get your half-baked sense of justice
this thought really only came up after some talking with other people, but that last line ah!! She doesn't want to be in charge of dealing with other people's lives in a way a nurse would, acting like a judge because she hates doing exactly that.
and finally
the "I don't want to think about the future" line hurt, okay . Sobbing holds the wall. this reads just like that, "I think I'd like to live up to around 40" question. I don't know. It's just so auejrhr to think about how 1) she's not even sure what she wants to do with her life because she wants to find something she can get absorbed in; 2) what if she really is dead? There's no future for her to look forward to; and (possibly, considering Yuno seems to be heavily depressed) 3) She doesn't think there is a reason to because what's the point?
ALSO so sorry for barely any shidou thoughts I am Yuno Kashiki brain rot forever
(though I think it's still funny that Shidou Kirisaki of all people said Yuno would be a good nurse)

I mace my own tier list of the Blue Lock characters, and I've posted it, but my sibling wanted to make their own too, even though they mostly watch the anime, they've read the U20 arc and like half of the NEL, so yeah why not.
Tumblr media
They sent me this monstrosity. I mean, I can understand not knowing Kiyora Jin as an anime only. But hating Ness? Hating SHIDOU??? That's pretty much unforgivable. And disliking Reo too?? I can't. But the part that killed me the most is that they have NO OPINION on Bachira but LOVE Isagi??? Makes sense bc they haven't read most of the NEL, but no opinion on Bachira? But loving Noel Noa, the most illogical person I've ever seen? But anyway, I'm disowning them and they need to be shot
I am so utterly baffled by this tier list.
at first I didn't read it right and I thought this was your tier list and I was like EXCUSE ME????! who just sent me their tier list with these atrocious rankings and expected me to be into it???
but then I re read it and oh my God.
if my sibling did this to me, I'd be slapping him for the Bachira and Reo disrespect.
They have some random dude at the very top, whose name I don't even know with the fuzzy ass hair, like WHAT?
that floored me first.
but then it's actually just homophobia to have Shidou, Nagi, and Ness in your hate tier, like EXCUSE ME. actual hate crime.
I also can't deny, I don't understand having so many randoms in the love them tier, while having Bachira under NO FIRM OPINION, like, that's not quite a hate crime but it's a micro aggression for sure.
at least they like Chigiri, I guess, but.
Reo being so low... are you sure you two are related???
Jesus. how do you even get along?
I would be torturing my brother day and night for a tier list like this, ahahah.

I've come up with the world's most insane Milgram theory. Well, I don't think it's true, so it'd be more correct to call it a hypothetical. But my brain was spinning Es around last night as I was trying to sleep and outlined all of this anyway, so:
Is Es an amalgam of the souls of the victims?
Mostly based on the fact that in Undercover each of the prisoners is seen murdering "Es". Now. Is this most likely a way to not spoil who they killed? Probably! However I could not stop thinking about it.
(Reasoning under the cut, including novel spoilers for both novels. I've only read the translated GDocs (including one that was machine-translated) so my info might be slightly incorrect, just a heads-up. Also I don't have the GDocs on hand so I cannot remember anyone's name)
1: The Milgram warden can be a dead person. The reveal at the end of the first novel is that everyone was linked and there was only one death, who became Es and oversaw that trial. So we know Milgram is supernatural to some degree and does allow for this.
2: Each Es has their own Jackalope that seems to be a foil or reflective of them in some way. There is a different Jackalope in each novel to match each warden (a female warden in N1 with a female Jackalope, a male warden in N2 with a male Jackalope). I'll admit that just matching genders is a weak point but stay with me for a moment. Assuming that Jackalope reflects Es in some way, isn't it weird how much MV Jackalope is fixated on solving the crimes? That's not true for N2 Jackalope (who just views it as a job, something that must be done), but MV Jackalope is very determined, especially in the end of the Second Trial Commencement Notice. "What I'm looking for is there, in that decision arrived at only after wading through all that morass!!" MV Jackalope doesn't just want this - he's desperate for it. Is this because MV Es has a personal reason (or reasons) to see "justice" brought to this batch of prisoners?
3: Es has referred to themself using plural pronouns. Most notable in Amane's T2 voice drama, though I believe it's happened before. The easiest way to read this is that the "we" Es is referring to is the audience, but there might be another reason for it.
4: Souls exist in Milgram. The use of the word "soul" to describe why Mikoto's restraints didn't work even though he was pronounced Guilty could just be a creative word choice, but it seems too specific. If Mikoto's different personalities count as different souls that can inhabit a single body fine, who's to say that can't be true for someone else as well?
There is one major hitch in this theory that I can see. The fact that Es has a canonical age (15) is throwing me for a loop, for if they were an amalgamation and not a person in their own right I don't think they'd have an age. They might appear to be a certain age, sure, but I don't think they could definitively say what age they are. However. I did not let this stop me, so I tried to figure out what the hypothetical age of an amalgam would be if we used math, and tried to extrapolate what the ages of each of the victims were:
Haruka – 10 – we don’t know the exact age, but we do know that the person he killed was “younger and weaker” (T2 voice drama), and 10 is a nice round number (and thinking of him killing someone younger than 10 makes me sad)
Yuno – 0 – literal baby, self-explanatory
Fuuta – 13 – we know she was a middle-schooler thanks to her uniform shown in Backdraft
Muu – 16 – she killed a classmate so they must be the same age
Shidou – 30 – this one was the hardest to figure out. I had to look up fatal car accident age range (25-34) and get the mean of those numbers (it’s 29,5 but I rounded up). I chose that because it’s the most likely accident to make somebody braindead, and also it’s what happened to his own family and it’s the closest thing to info we have on what exactly his murder was anyway
Mahiru – 22 – she met her lover in University; either they’re the same age or a year or two difference. I stuck with the same age because it’s easier
Kazui – 39 – Hinako and Kazui were co-workers, so it makes sense that they’d be around the same age. She does appear to be younger than him in Cat’s MV but that’d just be me guessing so it’s easier to say she’s 39
Amane – 42 – the average age in Japan of a woman having her first child is around 30. Assuming this was true for Amane’s mother, she would be 42 when she was killed due to Amane being 12 Amane – 34 – according to a timeline coversation Amane mentions that her mom was around Mahiru's age (22) when she was born. So 12 years later she'd be 34 (thanks mizukiyama & ryrysakura for letting me know about this info I missed)
Mikoto – 23 – I’m assuming his target(s?) were around the same age as him, based on what we see in MeMe. And that the killing(s?) happened recently, as he appears very similar in MeMe to how he looks in Milgram
Kotoko – 21 – I could not find a number for “average age of kidnapper in Japan” (thanks Milgram, that’s now in my search history), or any other searches of the kind, just showing up ages that were most at risk of violent crime. So I guessed.
This gives us an average of… 21,6. Which is not 15. New average with updated Amane's mom age is 20,8. Which is still not 15. Now, Es could be both a person in their own right and an amalgam of other souls.
Or I just wasted your time and proved myself wrong. But hey, I had fun thinking about this hypothetical anyway.

T3 cover thoughts,,, and psuedo guesses
Haruka : considering both of his songs were from the android girl album I feel like he's gonna get a third. Of which the only other song I know the lyrics to is relationship scramble.
I think it could work ("right now I want instant love", could be the whole any attention is good, negative inclusive, so long as it's attention) (bro idk)
Yuno : honestly not a clue haha, tho I think Rabbit Hole would work (+it's a popular prediction for her, I haven't listened to it but it could be a good choice?)
Fuuta : .....he got Salamander this trial I don't know what they're gonna give him anymore....I don't even know what the deal is with mosaik role,,,,,
Maybe Chimera? I've only listened to it once but it has the Vibes tm. I think it fits? I'm not very good at lyrical analysis but it'd be fun idk
(or volt tackle haha)
Muu : Theory of Negativity because idk it vibes. Similar to otome dissection kinda idk
Alternatively, Cinderella just cuz it....vibes like her I don't have a better explanation sorry
Shidou : I reeeally want to say cosmic rendezvous,,,, but it doesnt fit with his other covers. I hope dearly for cosmic rendezvous but let be realistic haha
My prediction. Ghost Rule or 118. Ghost Rule would be fun !!!! 118 would be, to me, if someone died in t3, cuz the lyrics can be twisted abit. It'd be so fun. Also "no law to pardon my crime" and "ethics are a delusion, but I'm still guilty when the morning comes" vibe the same. Also his va can do it I believe in him
The cover would also SLAP cuz from what I can tell shidous covers have a more...frantic? Energy to them and that works for a lot of the GHOST album songs. Anyways Ghost Rule milgram cover?? Please??
Mahiru : I had more but I forgot so here's the ones I remembered
U (unlikely, it's a English song... But hey it'd be fun) / Poison Apple (I'd say poison apple works for kazui but... There are funnier picks for him so)
I think her voice fits for these songs idk they just...vibe. really well. I believe in her va
Most fitting from what Ive seen is Zombies or Psuedo-Hope Syndrome which would work vocally and thematically I think! Idk tho haha mahirus is really vibe based
Kazui : ok wishful thinking : Ghost Rule. Fits with the liar theme. But I already gave it to shidou and it doesn't fit his other two covers (sad melancholy) so he gets the song I initially chose for shidou! Cosmic Rendezvous. A win for old man yaoi truthers (JOKE)
No seriously. The lyrics could be read as non romantic, and it continues his cover theme of Regret. It'd be fun, thematically relevant, fir the other covers, AND it'd hurt me. Perfect. If he does get cosmic rendezvous I will cry
Alternatively; we the hostages (?) Idk this pick was also solely vibes. I really want cosmic rendezvous though but that's cuz I want someone to say fuck
Amane : Angel Hair. I don't have a particular reason? Also this would be more in line with Positive Parade which was the trial one song.... And she got animal which I never would've expected so? Who knows. This is a fun list for vibes. Oh I think then all her songs would be Mannequin songs too
Mikoto : uhhhh (Not) a Devil. Cuz I'm not creative and it'd be funny. Uhh otherwise I'm not too sure.
Honourable mention that I think both Mikoto and Kotoko could get Addiction? By vibes alone lol cuz I can't read the captions...
Kotoko : imma be real I forgot. To kin assign her a song. But after having a short look at Anti - Beat I think she could get Dilemma? I think it works for kotoko. Idk
Tell me what songs you guys predict for any given character next trial I like seeing people's readings on what fits the character or the covers!!! Particularly kotoko, yuno and mikoto as much as I like their characters I don't have much of a read on them...
Also tell me what your favourite covers are!!!! I personally like both of shidous, kazui's, mahirus and fuuta's, and I really liked the monopoisoner one! (Haven't listened to reversible campaign enough to form opinion), as well as Harukas two breaths walking cover (haven't listened enough to the android girl one whoops)

Actually, something I've been thinking about since I read the timeline convos for the first time is the way Amane treats Yuno and Fuuta.
It stuck out to me since Amane is noticeably hostile towards Shidou and Mahiru for violating cult doctrine (which is even more interesting now considering Amane thinks Mahiru would be a good family member.)
Yet Yuno and Fuuta aren't treated with the same outright hostility. Even though Yuno is helping out Mahiru and Shidou, her interaction with Amane is overall amicable, even accounting for Amane's hostility at the start. (Translation Source)
23/06/27 (Amane’s Birthday)
Amane: What is it…… Kashiki Yuno. Don’t sit so close to me. Go away. Yuno: Sorry for barging in when you’re getting into your worldview thing. But Mahiru-san’s finally managed to get to sleep. Humour me with some small talk while I take a break. By the way, Amane. Have you ever wished you were never born? I’ve thankfully lived a pretty fun life so far, so haven’t really. But you seem to be struggling with something. So I kinda wondered if you thought like that. Amane: ……I don’t think that. Being born into this world is the first miracle any person experiences, and is something to celebrate. Even if after birth I was put through trial after trial, the value of that will never disappear. Yuno: Hmm. Ok. ……happy birthday, then. It’s good that you were brought into the world, I guess.
Yuno even Mentions helping out Mahiru, and yet Amane answers her question honestly and politely.
And Fuuta is getting treated by Shidou at this very moment, yet Amane doesn't act hostile, and she views Fuuta as "capable of being reborn."
23/04/19 (Fuuta’s Birthday)
Fuuta: ……! Oi, is it just you. Don’t scare me like that. You shouldn’t just stand there saying nothing. Hah, what? Did you just come to laugh at me for being weak? Dumb brat. Amane: No. I just came to observe. To see what people are thinking. To see who is being corrupted. What about you, Kajiyama Futa? Fuuta: I understand even less of what you’re saying than I did before. Brat, you’re on the side who weren’t forgiven too, right? ……so why can you still stand. Don’t you can hear it too? The voices blaming us. ……I don’t have the energy to do anything like this. Amane: It goes without saying. Because there’s something far more important than the voices of people we can’t even see. People are able to get back up again. As long as there’s something to guide them. Kajiyama Fuuta, by coincidence today happens to be your birthday, correct? Don’t you think it’s a good opportunity to be reborn? If, right now, you could shake off those around you trying to drag you down to depravity, and could change––
Yuno actually notes in her T1 Interrogation that "Amane looks down on Fuuta"
T1 Q26:
Q: Did something interesting happen lately in MILGRAM? A: It was discovered that Mahiru's quite out of sorts. Amane looks down on Fuuta.
But...what did Amane say love was again?
T2 Q9:
Q: What does love mean to you A: To spread mercy with no limits
Which completely recontextualizes all of this, it's possible that Amane is acting this way Because this is how she's showing her love, in a sense.
Amane is showing them mercy, patience, all the things she wasn't given. She's answers them politely, she believes Fuuta can "get better" she doesn't act hostile because Amane, to some extent, cares about them.
And there is precedence for Amane liking Yuno.
T1 Q10:
Q: Is there any prisoner you're close with? A: If I were to say, I guess it would be Yuno and Mahiru.
Again this begs the question of why she acts hostile towards Mahiru but considering I'm pretty sure Mahiru and Shidou are paralleled with Amane's parents and she didn't like both of them much it's possible that this association is what causes her to act more hostile. She's reminded too much of people who hurt her and thus acts more hostile.

BLUE LOCK MATCHUP — @modern-day-corpse-bride
Your match is...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
— Charles Chevalier
Tumblr media
✦ How happy I am to finally be able to match this little French imp with someone.
✦ Actually, Charles came to mind very clearly when I read your bio, mainly because I think you two share a few similarities.
✦ And you both give off a similar energy.
✦ 'I’m a veryyy talkative person' There's something special about Charles—he can be very talkative, and I can totally see him chatting with someone on the field in a random way while the match is still going on...
✦ ...and also, there are chapters where we almost forget about him?
✦ Especially because when the match loses its excitement, Charles stops investing in it. We see this when he literally asks Julian if he can leave the game because it's getting boring.
✦ 'A lot of people think I’m mean but I'm not!!!' Clearly, with Charles, there's an insolence that reflects his young age and the fact that he's so good on the field that there's not much that unsettles him. He easily teases people and likes to do the opposite of what he's told. In jargon, we call that a troll.
✦ 'I’m really big on complimenting and boosting other people’s confidence' I like to think that you met during one of his training sessions at the stadium. You found something a bit funny and unusual about him, and your eyes followed his run on the field. At first, he might not have noticed you, but eventually, he realized that someone was regularly commenting on his crazy passes and turned towards you.
✦ He froze for ten seconds before signaling you with both arms raised as if you were someone he had known for ten years.
✦ I think that normally, encouragements leave him quite indifferent, but coming from someone he doesn't know at all, it might amuse him and even make him laugh a bit.
✦ At the end of his session, he turns to you and, quite unexpectedly, throws the ball at you from a distance. Just to see how you’ll handle it.
✦ Maybe you dodge the ball, maybe not, but either way, it makes him smile. He strides over to ask, "T'es qui ? Tu fais quoi là ?" – 'Who are you? What are you doing here?'
✦ You’re not sure if he’s really listening even though he’s the one who asked the questions, but he’s smiling at you widely, with his shark-like tooth showing.
✦ 'I think that the notion that I’m “mean” comes from the fact that I’m very honest.' Well, you see, I think this amuses him because he likes controversial opinions and people who aren’t afraid to say what they think. Charles finds conventional and controlled people boring. You can see it on the field—he prefers to get along with Shidou, someone more original and aligned with his philosophy of play, rather than Rin, who is very structured and strategic.
✦ 'My main love languages are physical touch and gift giving' I can’t see Charles being into giving long speeches or spending time listening to others; I think his love languages would be more like yours, maybe with acts of service included. I imagine he’s the type to rush and jump on the people he likes, climbing on them without shame (like he does with Shidou when they score together).
✦ The cool kid you never get bored with. He prefers outdoor activities over indoor ones, and he takes you to see the cool spots in Paris. The amusement park is his favorite place.
✦ A bit uncontrollable, he’s all over the place and wants to try everything with you. He pulls you by the sleeve: "Allez ! Ça a l'air trop bien !!!" – 'Come on! This looks awesome!!!'
✦ He enjoys teaching you curse words in French.
✦ Buys you ridiculous trinkets from attraction stands.
✦ Tons of selfies that he posts on Instagram, tagging you every time, even though it’s his face in 80% of the photo.
✦ Emoji abuser. His messages are unreadable, and he sends forty of them in a row.
✦ Sends voice messages too, many of which cut off prematurely (the worst kind). He records them again right after but never finishes them; he’s already moved on to something else.
✦ 'I like to collect vintage items like dolls or photos which kind of creeps a lot of people out, and I also like to hand-build with clay from time to time.' Honestly, that intrigues him. He finds it weird and judges it out loud, but it doesn’t scare him.
✦ He tries to make a clay sculpture of you and totally messes it up.
✦ He gives it to you on some random day with no particular significance.
✦ The sculpture’s aesthetic is questionable, and you can barely recognize yourself...
✦ ...But you keep it anyway, because a gift from Charles is worth gold.
Tumblr media
A word about your match: You’re kind of the partner-in-crime duo that everyone dreads, that people secretly like a little, but that no one will admit to liking.

Does anyone remember the voices theory post I made? (If you don't please read it I worked very hard on it.) Now that the trial is over there are some revisions I want to make to it.
The main thing is that I now think none of the prisoners hear our theories on their crimes at all, only the general consensus on how peoplw felt about it. It would clear up some of the complications in my last theory of there being two different voices and the leaps in logic I had to make. It's a good explanation as to why Shidou and Kazui didn't hear voices - Shidou was voted innocent because he was hot, which isn't really an opinion on his crime, and people were confused on Kazui's case and therefore didn't have and opinion on it. This is also backed up by the text. Yuno is surprised to find that Es already knew what her crime was and Mahiru was shocked to realise that people thought she was a stalker, which indicates they did not know these things prior to Es telling them. For those who have only caused one death, it makes sense that they would assume the voices feelings are based on what their crimes actually are; after all, the machine extracts their memories so they would would whatever it was showing Es is accurate and clear enough to understand what happened. This would explain why people like Haruka, Mahiru and Amane would be affected by them despite us not having a clear/accurate idea on their actual crimes. Neither Mikoto nor Kotoko have confirmed whether or not they hear voiced but I'm inclined to believe that they both do. Mikoto references how people called him a liar, which as far as I recall Es never called him directly which means this is most likely referencing the voices. I not sure if there is direct evidence of her hearing voices, but because they were agreeing with her this round she wouldn't have been affected by them either way. At most it would have emboldened her to try and get away with more things, and may explain why she insists we "chose to walk this path with her" even though the deal she made with Es had nothing to do with allowing her to beat people up.
So to summarise: the prisoners only hear what people's feelings are about everyone's crimes, not what people think their crimes are or any other discussion not to do with their crimes. This would have to be confirmed in the third trial as meta-voting had a much higher impact on people's votes in this trial than in the first, so that may have an effect on the voices but for now this is what I earnestly believe. If anyone else has anything else to point out let me know!

Hey, here's a fun question: Which lines are sung visually/directly by the characters in each MILGRAM MV?
T1:
Weakness: Haruka's 'Ah, ah, ah's' are also shown in video form in the chorus. He definitely does have that manner of laughing in canon, but I'm not sure there's much to say about it. He has every disease
Umbilical: No lines are sung/said. This might resemble Yuno's whole 'innocent girl with little agency' thing that people saw her as at first. She doesn't even get to say anything in her own story.
Bring It On: Nope. No lines sung/said. Like with Yuno, I think this might be taking away from Fuuta's agency on purpose. To portray him as more of a follower that got out of hand instead of the group leader. Though this may also be a budgetary issue, as Milgram's animation was pretty limited at first, they couldn't afford much lipsync animation.
After Pain: Arguably, her part with holding on to Rei's sleeve can be lip-read as 'I'm sorry/gomenasai' which would sync up with 'gomen' in her lyrics, though I think it's supposed to be more of a parallel than a direct spoken line. It's still a very fun detail that I don't see people talk about that much!
Throw Down: No spoken lines. This time, I think it's just Shidou putting up that barrier between the audience and what actually happened with his backstory, making it more vague and unclear.
TIHTBILWY: "I'm sorry!" In the scene where Mahiru looks at the camera, and maybe also her monologue on the phone? The lipsync doesn't quite match up, but it's possible. The fact that the only proper thing she says is "I'm sorry" hurts, though: She really does know she did something horrible and wants to atone for it, but doesn't know how.
half: "The curse of reuniting with you puts a dagger in my heart; I imagined you saying "See you" was the same as "It's over"; Only if your heart would change, but that's not possible; Please tell me what I should do, feelings shrouded in lies will float and away and disappear" (essentially: the entire chorus). It's notable how this is all sung during Kazui's performance on stage, once while wearing his mask, once without.
Magic: "See?" (From 'See, isn't it a great thing?') and "God/Wise One" ("Kami-sama" from 'Dear Wise One, is this ok?'). To me, the 'See?' is directed at herself, convincing herself that the things that happened to her were actually good. The whole song is just Amane trying to justify all the horrible things she went through.. And the visual cue just makes that more obvious :(.
MeMe: "Why am I here? It must be a mistake, right? Take a good look at me" and "Never forgive" (from "I will NEVER forgive you if this is happening to me even though I'm right"). First one is pretty self-explanatory, I feel like the second one has some implications about Mikoto's judgment of other people, mayhaps.
HARROW: No spoken lines! Due to the lines being more general in establishing Kotoko's goals and not really towards any one person in particular, it might have been awkward to fit a speech segment into the video. So. Hmm.
T2
All-Knowing and All-Agony: No lines are sung directly except for mayyybe an "Ah" in the middle. I think they might be trying to highlight Haruka's tendency to Ah, eh, hm, in his speech mannerisms, with these being his only visually spoken lines.
Tear Drop: "Shut up" (from "Just shut it, will you? You know it all") and "So nauseating... So creepy... will you please disappear". These are very clearly said to a person in particular; though also possibly just her clients that infantilize her in general. Love that these lines get emphasis considering Yuno's character.
Backdraft: "So worthless!/What a load of crap!" and "Come up to the ring and face me!". Very much still Fuuta's tough guy act talking to the people that judged him.
It's Not My Fault: "We are just the same" (from "I am doing this just because I'm bored, we are just the same" and "I'm always so pitiable!" (Translated as "I'm always the drama queen" but this sucks as a translation so.. lol). Aimed at Rei, mayhaps? The first line carries some very interesting implications with it. Wasn't here for the drop of this MV so it's probably already been analyzed to death..
Triage: "I want to be forgiven, I want to live!" Ohh Shidou.. be careful with that developing savior complex. Basically Triage's whole message summed up into two lines.
I Love You: Just a simple sigh. She's too exhausted to say anything more than that.
Cat: "Phew, wow, I'm drunk.. Hey, if I said I liked you, what would you do?" and arguably him breathing out smoke/sighing at the end. Infamous confession scene. IMO, this is still him confessing his feelings for his friend, which leads to that insane downwards spiral that ruins his life.
The Purge March: No lines spoken. Due to most of the MV taking place before the murder but the lyrics being about her motivation for murder... Yeah, it's natural no lyrics are visually said. (Since they also want to keep her actual murder scene vague).
That's all we've got so far!! Hope you enjoyed :-) if you have any thoughts feel free to add on!

milgram characters sorted on what i think their stance on vriska would be (assorted thoughts under read more)
kotoko and fuuta would definitely have strong thoughts on the topic of whether or not vriska did anything wrong. i'm not 100% sure they'd both fall on the 'everything wrong' side of the debate, though?
shidou i think would see vriska's actions as necessary to survive
es WOULD see a girl even younger than them born into a bad home life and say she's unforgivable. i love them but i also know in my heart they would not forgive vriska
muu and vriska bug girl solidar8y. i'm right about this. you know i'm right about this.

I'm not sure if this counts as a thirst but I'm obsessed with fighting and making up as a trope, especially with characters that might have trouble apologizing—I think Barou + Raichi immediately come to mind?
I love thinking about other characters in that trope as well [like how Bachira (my fave) or Shidou might react differently], but I'm currently mulling over Barou and Raichi specifically.
imo, Barou would be more stubborn with thinking that he's right, whereas Raichi would have a faster period of extreme reactivity that immediately melts into guilt or regret once you two part ways post-argument.
It would take a little more to push either of them to reach out and apologize first (though I think if you were the first to reestablish communication, they'd both try to show that they were sorry through actions). Maybe having you go radio silent for a couple more hours might do it.
I think Barou would struggle with words, so he might default to "acts of service" type behavior, perhaps trying to fuss over you the next time he sees you.
I can imagine that Raichi would eventually attempt to apologize verbally, he would just be shit at it—but you can feel the sincerity behind his jumbled words, and that's what really matters.
Disclaimer, I think I have a problem where I project a level of idiocy onto every character I like... lol. They're always slightly more moronic or pathetic in my head than I think they are in canon.
That said, I think Raichi might cry a little if you stay mad at him even after he tries to apologize. Just a couple angry tears, and he begins to try and write a draft for a better apology so that you'll be happy with him again.
Ahhh I definitely agree with you! (And I love my men pathetic just for you too!)
Barou — I think pride gets in the way a lot when it comes to apologising, so a lot of the time Barou is stubborn enough to stay silent until you extend the olive branch. I think deep down he knows it too, knows he doesn’t have to worry because even if he’s really pissed you off, you’ll be back in his arms soon enough. That isn’t to say he doesn’t have his way of apologising— he holds you a little tighter, presses a kiss to your temple as you cuddle together. No words need to be exchanged but you can feel the warmth radiating from him and the tension slowly leaving his body that tells you he’s happy to have you back on side. Gives those long, lingering, sloppy kisses after like you haven’t kissed in months.
Raichi — I feel like at first Raichi is combative and stubborn. He can easily go a couple of days without talking to you, he’ll just surround himself with football. But that’s not to say he isn’t reading over your old texts each night and looking at selfies you have together. It’s what prompts him to make contact— he’s got absolutely no shame in going up to you or texting you “are you gonna apologise/are you gonna talk to me?” And it seems rude and distasteful, but it really is his way of saying I miss you. If you tell him no or ignore the texts he just becomes more agitated, enough to swallow his pride as he decides to apologise in a mumbled tone that’s full of sincerity. Like you can just feel how sorry he is through his eyes, and the way his head hangs low, a hand on the back of his neck. You can see the sniffle threatening to break through as he fights to hold back tears— Just accept it and give the poor boy a kiss, he misses you.
Bachira — breaks easy. He doesn’t do those psychological warfare games, and he’ll quickly beat himself up about the argument especially if you’re ignoring him. The poor boy doesn’t want to be alone, so even if the fight was his fault he’s doing the “are you mad at me?🥺” thing, and of course you are. But he’s quick to apologise and it’s always sincere. He hates being without you for too long, and would rather extend the olive branch to have you back on side because his worst fear is losing you. You’re instantly scooped into his arms as he clings to you like his life depended on it, smothering you in kisses.
Shidou — And you mentioned Shidou! I feel like he would deliberately try to wind you up even more, a coy smirk on his face as he makes whatever the argument was about worse, just because he likes how pretty you look when you’re angry. “Aw, come on, babe. You know I was just jokin’—” but it’s his tone that has you seething as you contemplate blocking his number. But he’s quick to reign you back in when he can sense you growing cold, weaving his forearm around your neck as he pulls you against his chest, pressing a kiss to your forehead as he cages you in with his arms. Even if you try to struggle he’s like “Sorry, baby. You know I am, right?” And you hate it, because he makes it so hard to be mad at him when he looks down at you with his pretty eyes and gives a smile reserved just for you.

love how cassis orange ended. Loved the bitter moments as much as the sweeter ones here and there, it felt like a perfect conclusion to what had been building up (had a Moment tm during the last scene) but also the more I think about it the more I wonder about the other characters' relationships (Nagi and Reo not being as close as they seemed had me shocked, Bachira's frustration with Isagi, Hiori's whole deal with Rin and Shidou). It hasn't left my mind, so I wanted to thank you for writing something so engaging.
Hi anon, and thank you so much! 🥹 this was lovely to read, and I'm delighted to hear my writing had such lasting impact!
The latest chapter had its ups and downs for sure. The angst was building up, since they're abysmal not only at being honest with each other, but also with themselves 💀 So, I'm happy that the last scene was cathartic for you as well as the others who've been reading along. It was cathartic writing it! Still one more chapter to go though, to tie up Kunigiri's loose ends! ✨
As for the others... you've clocked that not all's well in the wider world of Tokyo 2034. Kunigami and Chigiri catch glimpses of what's going on, but not the full story. The drama in their friend circle is only starting. Kunigiri will be sitting back with popcorn (it's what they deserve), because it'll be the others' turns to suffer. 😈
I'm wary of overcommitting, as longfics take up a lot of bandwidth, but I will say there's more works I'd like to write within this AU. Since you're interested, these would include:
Exploring the origin and outcomes of Nagi's publicity contract with the Mikage Corporation... and its CEO, Reo. Reo-centric, with insight into the dinner and festival scenes from CO!
Addressing the car crash that is Hiori-Rin-Shidou-Sae. All I'm willing to say about this is, there's one other character involved (unbeknownst to Chigiri 👀).
Tumblr media
Lastly an Isagi-centric fic, where he endures a crisis in the midst of the WC tournament. It'll feature his friends and rivals—most notably Bachira and Kaiser. Still angsty, but more reflective than the others. It's the final story I have planned for this AU.
It won't follow the same structure in each case, and I don't think any of these fics will run as long as CO... but, I do want to address the hanging questions and give every character a conclusion they deserve. Can't give a time frame, and I can't commit to finishing each one, but it's something I'll be working towards as long as I have the drive to continue writing for this fandom.
Thanks again for such a sweet message! I'm grinning 💜
