Happy New Year! Welcome to my first map of 2024, a White Dragon's lair to fit your winter campaigns.

This is a phased battlemap that depicts three different lair actions of the dragon:

the dragon brings down rocks near the players, trying to pin and crush them

it collapses a tunnel, preventing movement

the ice breaks, causing anything above it to plunge into the icy waters

There are a total of 8 phases in this map.

I have also made standalone variants of this map which are not phased, but can be adapted as other dragon lairs (Red dragon, Copper dragon, etc).

My players recently met Avarice, a somewhat shady Tiefling Sorceress, for the first time. I really liked her design in the published adventure but felt that might give a bit too much away, so I drew this portrait of her to show her in a more neutral light. For the artwork I started out with a B/W version to get the values right. Throughout this stage I experimented with different hairstyles, accessories and other elements. Once I was happy with the overall impression I added color and a colder hue to the shadows to give it a bit more of a cold feeling – she is in Icewind Dale after all.

Painted up one of my all time favorite low(ish) level monsters, the #cragcat today. It was a strange challenge to paint this up as the concept art & illustration have then very monotone and I felt like it needed some more detailing. Anyway, super happy with how the fur turned out and love #bluehorror layer paint from citadel, such a great color! Erebos was born in Calimport. His grandfather had a secret arrangement with a devil. That's why Erebos was born tiefling. His father was swindled by a con artist. He lost all family money and left home. His brother became a gladiator to support the family. However, Erebos was obsessed with defrauding the scammer and he did that by chance. His mother did not like this criminal life and kicked him out of the house.

If you are familiar with the d&d, you know that Calimport is a place where thieves and murderers abound. Erebos spent a night with the favorite of Calimport's most powerful pasha. However, this situation was discovered by the pasha and he had to escape from the city. He was very afraid of Pasha and he had good reasons for this. When Pasha put a large amount of prize on Erebos' head and tail, Erebos boarded a ship to go to the other side of the world.

Finally Erebos stupidity and curiosity, he was separated from the rest of the group with a mad dragon. Now we can find out what will happen to him after 1 year. Because Erebos made a 1 year deal with the Dragon. He will learn magic from the dragon's dead owner. ( By the way, this is impossible! Because the owner of the Dragon is really dead!!!)

We hear about a comet that landed and people are getting mind messages. No one knows what they mean.

There is an old black cabin who some say is haunted. Gnome named Copper in Brynshander and is in the House of the Morning Lord. He thinks there magical experiments being performed there.

We get into Icewinddale proper and realize this whole place is cold and icy and huge af. gulp.

We travel toward the comet for as far as the cart can take us. We bank it and Xork takes the weapon with us.

We run into the meteorite. It had a tentacle monster in it and it is definitely from outer space. We run into two carrion crawlers and we try to sneak past them but fail and fight them. We win after a hard battle.

We investigate these organic looking ships frozen shut. We melt the ice and enter the ship. We fight these gross purple things and a flesh golem. We fight them all and win. We start ransacking the space and get 6 laser rifles.

We run into a gnome named Dread of X. We convince him we are friendly and we help him make the ship last longer. He needs a psi crystal to revive it for real. We heard tell that there is one in the tourmaline mine.

We decide to take the slimy mind worm and laser rifles and dip.
