On archangels and Crowley's former rank in good omens 2:

Thought I'd do a brief post putting together my updated view on Heaven's archangel hierarchy, based on both this post by Neil and the lore drops in season 2.

"I wasn't the original concept designer, but I worked very closely with upstairs." "You know how God likes sevens." "The kind of miracle only the mightiest of archangels could have performed." "How do you know I didn't do it?" "That arch traitor Crowley--" "I am the only first order archangel in the room--or, you know, the universe--" (extended cut to Crowley) "You'd have to be a Throne, a Dominion, or above." "He always did want to go his own way. Always asking damn fool questions." "Let there be light."

Proposed hierarchy of good omens archangels:

First Order: Gabriel (former); Lucifer, now Satan (former); [REDACTED], now Crowley (former); Aziraphale (current, replacement)

Second Order: Michael; Uriel (higher than the others, but beneath the first order archangels)

Third Order: Saraqael (she defers to Michael and Uriel in her first scene, but is important enough to be present at Gabriel's trial); Sandalphon (Neil has referred to him as a 'lesser archangel')

Points of confusion:

"For one prince of Heaven to be cast into the outer darkness makes a good story. For it to happen twice makes it look like there is some kind of institutional problem."

This quote is almost certainly referring to Lucifer. Obviously this cuts against the theory that Crowley was a first order archangel, though idk what was up with the editing in that scene if that's the case. They cut to him immediately after Gabriel says the line.

Baraqiel. Dominion. Angel of the Sky. Appearance: Hair an eye-burning jinnjer. Eyebrows with the appearance of a grisly slug. Often draped in red. Occashunly damp, most likely singed.

Lots of people have been talking about this page from Furfur's angel spotting guide:

I'm of the opinion that this probably (though it's possible) wouldn't be in the prop book and shown for so long on screen if it wasn't A Clue. The page would've looked fine with just Aziraphale's information. Entirely possible that it's just hinting at a new character for season 3, but the description sounds enough like Crowley that I'm suspicious. (Eye-burning ginger.)

Of course, this cuts against the archangel Crowley theory, but all we know for sure is that he was a Throne or Dominion or above. It's possible that I'm just reading too much into all the other hints that seem to point to him being an archangel. (Though for what it's worth, Baraqiel is known as an archangel outside of Good Omens canon, and is also known as "lightning of God," which is very interesting in a season where Crowley summons both a tempest and a bolt of lightning.)

i have a ton of question/suggestions for slug sign: 1. how do you indicate emotion in SS? my best guess is using cycles but talking about smth like sadness cant really be done that way 2. is there a specific way youre supposed to type out SS in english? 3. SS seems pretty heavy on context adding a kind of adjective system may help to fix issues with specification as well as free up room for more words. an example would be making words for "cycle", "food", "region", and "direction" and then changing the current word for "cycle" into "specify" so you could say [cycle] [<specification>] to talk about the specific cycle and plan or [direction] [<specification>] to talk about a specific direction and where you may want to go.. etc. words without specification still work but use context. 4. is there a way to explain advanced movement in SS, stuff like a flip or roll. 4.5. if not id suggest adding words for stuff like "sprint" or "crouch" and to go with it "then" to explain stuff for example [jump] [then] [crouch] [forward] would be a way to explain sliding

Slugsign has a few emotion indicators, but not all of them are signs. We hop around a lot and dance and flip when we're happy; hopping in place is kind of a "this is good!" while hopping sporadically is "I'm excited!"

Using "loser" repeatedly or shaking on the spot expresses frustration, alongside signing "no" a lot and hitting eachother with rocks. Also insulting whatever you're mad at, we love to insult things.

Recently we've started using "peace" as a way of saying sorry, which wasn't even intentional it just developed during a play session. Sadness is characterized by a lot of "sorry" and crouching without movement and trying to shove yourself into corners. [Me] [loser] is used to express guilt.

Oh hey, you actually use the exact method we use in this ask. We transcribe signs by placing them in brackets, for example: [give?] [Moon] [quantity-lots] [scav][object]. There's no official way you're "supposed" to though, that's just what we do.

3)

What you propose sounds like an interesting idea, but idk how much it'd be utilized. I mean for direction you can just.. point in the way you want to go. And "cycle" in reference to a day is considered the current one by default- you'd use "later" to specify a future one. I think what you're wanting is an abstracted "this" sign? which yeahh WOULD be nice actually..

I've thrown out the idea of having a grammatical word order thing, like [cycle] [food] and [food] [cycle] having different meanings, but Phen's worried that'll be really hard to memorize and cause confusion. Idk I still think it's cool and would add a lot of nuance, I'm gonna try to convince her on it.

We probably could add those signs if y'all really want? I know people use it for their own co-op now, but in me and Phen's sessions we both already know the movement tech. It sounds really funny to teach someone about rainworld using slugsign though, I like that.

I could see condensing all those into a single "movement" or "example" sign: you use the sign and then do the action you're demonstrating. So a backflip would be like.. [example-run] [example-turn] [fast] [example-jump].? Could probably use some workshopping.

..no not really!! I'm not a linguist or a language hobbyist, me and Phen are just winging this shit according to need, and I have NO idea how I'd go about making a written variant beyond transcripts. Besides idk if we'd really.. use it? That sounds super good for the worldbuilding aspect, but we already have the legend to reference. Anyone else who wants to take on the idea, by my guest.

Finding someone in a sea full of teenagers and couples took longer than usual. Waiting around ride exits, entrances, and photo kiosks were all futile attempts at your now lame mission. that you’d huffed your way to the pretzel stand. You might as well eat something sweet and fluffy if you couldn’t find a guy you could describe with those words… You were a step away from cinnamony, twisty goodness when two figures whizz between you and the pretzel stand.

“YA! Jimin-hyung! You have to!” you hear, your eyes fixated on the chase unfolding in front of you when you realize it wasn’t a chase between two children but rather two grown men.

“Exactly! I am your hyung! Stop making me do this shit, or the next time, I’ll throw up on you,” the smaller man responds, darting ahead of the larger one, the both of them running loops around the pretzel stand until the shorter one jumps over a nearby bench, hiding behind it. "I know you're fucking strong enough to lift me and force me into doing it, so for God's sake, just stop, Jungkook-ah. I'll let you talk to me informally for a whole month if you don't make me do this."

The bigger man yields, stopping, seemingly to catch his breath, only to burst into a fit of laughter instead when the smaller one marches over to him, playfully hitting him with a plushie and scolding him between his low giggles as well. The few people gathered around had looked away at that point, brushing it off once they’d realized it wasn’t an actual fight… except for you.

You couldn’t. The sound tugged at your heartstrings. That loud, unstoppable, joyous laugh unlike any you’d ever heard in your entire life. And now that the taller man stood still and you could finally take a good look at him. He was big, which you’d noticed immediately, with a frog-eyed headband that somehow stayed on his head throughout the chase, adorning his long locks. Laughing heartily, almost out of breath, the shorter man beside him jokingly punched at his huge muscles… which were decorated with a vibrant collage of tattoos.

Ki gasps right beside you. “Oh, isn’t he so your ty-”

“He is. He really fucking is….” you whisper, in awe of the huge man with the frog-eyed headband.

“Look, it’ll end in one of two ways - you either will or won’t go on a ride with... the man of your dreams. He’s the hottest guy we’ve seen so far, and… tattooed, jacked... A man but happy like a kid... Damn, is he your type… You can’t pass this up. Still, if he turns out to be an idiot and says no, just look for another one. There are thousands of people here, and his friend is really cute too. Maybe even better, actually, damn.”

The man was still laughing. It was adorable.

Ki, ever the flirt, does what she always does whenever either of you spots someone you might be interested in - pushing you slightly until you’ve no choice but to reach her planned destination for you. Turning back was never an option. You knew better - if you attempted it, she’d just drag you back herself. A mere couple of steps away, the reflexed confidence you’d felt bubbling up from similar nights she encouraged you quickly fades away when the man is right in front of you. Though you’d only been a short distance away, he was bigger, happier, louder, and much more attractive up close. He wasn't the most attractive man you'd seen that day but... in your entire life. And when he blinks in your direction, noticing your sudden presence, you finally come back to Earth.

“Hi. Uhm, hello. This is a bit weird, but would you like to go on this rollercoaster with me?” you ask in a rush, gesturing to the attraction right behind him. “I’m here with a friend who doesn’t like rides and…”

The man’s wide smile remained on his face. It was hard not to get distracted.

“…and I thought I’d ask someone who seemed fun, unlike her.”

“What made you think I was fun?” he asks, his tone serious, despite the smile on his face.

“Well… you're standing right in front of the ride, and that little chase you guys did. It was funny.... and cute.”

“Cute?” he asks, his eyebrows raised in shock. If you weren't mistaken, somehow, his smile grew even wider.

“Yeah,” you reply, sure your expression matched his. With a reaction like that... He was either down for it or would reject you kindly... What did you have to lose? "Yeah, cute."

“How did you know he’s not afraid?” his friend interrupted. You’d forgotten the shorter man’s entire existence.

“Oh well, I assumed. Hot guys aren’t afraid of rides.” It was a weird theory you held, in line with your type and your own dating and crush history. You almost regret blurting it out, but it only sends the man into another laughing fit while his friend glared at the both of you.

“Oh, sorry. I meant no disrespect,” you laugh, seeing the shorter man angrily and adorably all riled up.

“No, don’t worry, we know,” the hot guy adds, wiping tears of laughter away from his face, and luckily, the shorter man concurs, waving it off with a smile.

"So I hear you wanted to go on that ride too?" you ask.

“I’d… I’d love to,” the man states. Now that he’s composed himself, you could make out the rosiness in his cheeks - the happy crinkles by his eyes remained. “I’d really love to go with you. God knows I need someone cool too.” He side-eyes his friend at the comment, fiddling with the stuffed frog toy in his hands before continuing. “But hyung's cowardice is not the only reason I want to... Maybe I’ll win you one of these too later?”

The shorter man rolls his eyes, playfully punching the stuffed frog. “You have a name, tough guy?”

“Oh, sorry,” the man replies, outstretching his hand when he finally looks back at you with that same sweet smile. “My name is Jungkook.” You shake his hand and introduce yourself, noticing how nice his also tattooed hand felt…

Hey OP I know there's still almost a week left, but I think an option should be that a character who gets over a certain number of votes (IDK 2000[questionmarkthattumblrwon'tletmeaddforsomereason]) but still loses can be reintroduced to the tournament elsewhere with the justification that if they got that many votes but still lost then it can be chalked up to a seeding issue because, given most of the polls being under 1000 votes total, it was probably just an issue of seeding.

Am I suggesting this for selfish reasons[questionmark] Yes, absolutely. But also there are five or six days left and I may theoretically be doing The Enemy a favor if the tides turn because [gestures at the numbers] a lot of people clearly care about this and maybe if the matchup happens AGAIN later in the tournament, we can get an even wider sample size and really duke it out

Someone should have told me X pairing was bad because they're both fan favorites, either one of them getting disqualified in round 1 is just bad for the game.... However, I am a little noodle with no backbone and am terrified of judgment and I know another tournament host deleted a poll because people were talking about wincest?? And people got mad at the host for being a bad sport and saying they manipulated the outcome because they were unhappy??? (No judgment to the host, they told the people they were uncomfortable, I wouldn't be very happy if people were talking about SA in my tags)

Proposal: How mad will you guys be if you-know-who loses this round BUT takes the slot of whoever has less number votes TOTAL. So like X character who has 1500 votes takes the spot of X character who only got 150 votes.

Pro: It's more fun. They're a fan favorite. I worry that people will turn out if such a popular character doesn't even make it to the top 32. One of the most highly submitted characters. The poll has only been live less than two days and it already has more than twice as many votes than any other poll.

Con: Against the rules and people may get mad at me.... I don't want to open the doors to do this for everyone.

Other Proposal: Every round leading up to the semi finals, a 24 hour poll of "won with the least number of votes and lost with most number of vote" and who every wins that one stays. Soccer tournament style. I think. i don't know. I don't want spots.

& Being totally totally honest, if my blorbo does get into the top 32 I dont think I'll have the motivation to run part two "whos most likely to get into heaven" because these polls are a lot of work and i need at least one blorbo to seriously root for or its not fun for me. You could call me a bad sport idc the polls take at least 5 hours to make 32 with the graphics, organize the propaganda, queue and then continue to check the reblog in case there's more propaganda.

This isn't like a threat or anything, if anyone else would like to host the "most likely to go to heaven" tournament, I'd totally welcome and support them. One of the UN members stands up. "You are not above the law!"

Tony raises an eyebrow, gesturing to Bruce, who stands on his other side. With one press of a button, the conditions of the Raft are visible on the large screen behind him. "But you are?" Tony retorts, as pictures of their teammates and other imprisoned Inhumans are revealed. The room can't contain their gasps of surprise and horror.

The Chairman stands. "This - this is not the UN's doing."

Steve steps in. "Yes, it is. The UN chose Thaddeus Ross to lead this project. And this is what his solution is." He brings a strong hand down on Tony's shoulder. "These people you have vilified are our friends and teammates. We will not stand for this. The Raft needs to be shut down. Now."

The Chairman nods, glancing around the room to see others agreeing. "We will release your team, but you must-"

"Uh! No conditions," Tony interrupts.

"But-"

Just then, the doors burst open, and Tony's heart starts to pound harder as Natasha Romanoff strides through them, confident and proud. Behind her is the rest of their team, watching her blind spots and holding back the security that apparently tried to stop them. He's shocked to see Thor as well, hammer in hand, an arm around Wanda to hold her up as she is still clearly feeling the effect of the draining collar. His expression is fixed and serious. "Your efforts to release them will not be necessary, Chairman," she says, low and almost smirking. "Now, if you could listen to Mr. Stark, I'm sure you'll find we're quite ready to negotiate."

Tony is uncharacteristically speechless. The last time he had seen this woman, he'd called her a triple imposter and ended their physical relationship, despite knowing deep down that her actions had been justified and after this summer, this beautiful, warm, happy summer, that all he wanted was to make things between them official. "No," he says, short and sweet, almost involuntarily.

Natasha's eyebrows hit her hairline. Steve sputters next to him. "No?" Bruce says quietly, clearly confused. Of their team, it is only Thor who studies him for a moment before smiling, realizing where his attention is focused. He's felt the same, when he sees Jane after a long separation.

Tony's eyes, of course, are fixed on Natasha.

"Tony-" She calls, warning.

"The Avengers have plenty of lawyers," Tony says, almost casually, as he makes his way down the dais. "I'll leave you all the cards of our legal department." He picks up his pace as he begins to stride up the middle aisle. "Propose what you want. For me," he adds, beginning to breathe harder. "I have my own proposal to make."

Two steps later, and he takes Natasha's waist in his hands at the same time he takes her lips with his.

She hums in surprise, but he doesn't give her time to push him away, pulling back to look her directly in the eyes.

"I'm sorry." He brings her hand to his lips. "For what it's worth, I love you." He kisses her thumb, then her palm, then her wrist. "Ain't that the worst thing you've ever heard?"

Natasha, to her credit, somehow keeps her expression somewhat neutral, even though she must be shocked at his very public, very loud confession. Tony has no luck, blinking back tears. He's not sad, not angry. Whatever he's feeling, it's just too much to keep it inside. "It's not cool anymore. I want rules. I want you. This summer with you was the best summer of my life, but now, if I can't have your heart, it just feels cruel."

He barely hears Steve behind him, wrapping up his speech with their ultimatums, but he does feel all the eyes in the room on them.

Finally, after what seems like an eternity, Natasha gives a shuddering breath. "You're a handful, you know," she says, still even and neutral. "Doing this here."

"I know," he says. "But you're here. You came back, and you brought the rest of our team with you. And I know you. I know you wanted to run." I know, he says silently. I know what it took you to take this chance, because it's the same chance I'm taking now. I know, he thinks, but you love me anyway.

"It's not," she says, abrupt but somehow warm, a tentative smile growing. "It's not the worst thing I've ever heard."

Tony grins, then, and it's blinding. "I'll take it."

He pulls her closer, kisses her again, but it's different this time. It's more. She tastes amazing, smells even better. He breathes her in, and he grins against her mouth when her hands thread through his hair. He feels flashes go off, but they don't phase him. He hears Thor cheer, feels Steve and Bruce come up behind them, can practically see Clint's grin. But it all feels dull, echoey, compared to Natasha in his arms. His world has exploded into color and light, and he realizes he's actually crying, which should be embarrassing, but it's not. Nothing is. Everything, for once, is right.

When she pulls away, he watches her hide her own wide smile in his chest. That's okay, he'll keep her secret. He'll keep them all, locked away in his own heart, where hers lives too now.

"Hope you enjoyed the show," he calls out. "Call our lawyers. Avengers, out!"

Steve slaps his back. "Hey, that's my job," he teases.

Tony mock-gasps. "Is this the trauma that finally allowed you to grow a sense of humor, Cap?"

They start to file out of the room as the UN descends into chaos behind them. "No," Bruce says, "it's the relief that we can finally talk about you and Nat clearly dating."

"We were so stealthy though!"

Clint laughs. "You definitely weren't."

He looks down at Natasha, who's smiling and shaking her head. "I thought you knew that we were dating this whole time," she teases.

"You mean my whole confession was for nothing?" Tony pouts, but he can't hide his joy.

She straightens his lapel. "Well," she says evenly, "I suppose it was nice to hear aloud. But Tony, you tell me everyday, in your own way."

"Well," he hums as he pulls her into his arms again. "Now I'll tell you twice a day. Once my way, and another time, the way I should've been doing this whole summer."

Natasha reaches up to kiss the corner of his mouth. "I'll take it."

The rest of the team files onto the Quinjet, leaving them alone in the hangar for a brief moment. He turns serious for a brief moment, nuzzling her hair. "Take me," he pleads, quiet and earnest.

"Always," she promises, just as solemn. Then, she smiles. "Now c'mon, we have work to do."

He mock-complains, but goes easily as she pulls him to onto the jet.

He'll follow her anywhere.

I've never before in my life thought about the solreef family as much as I have the last week and let me tell you: I am no longer the same person. I am immensely pleased that you enjoyed, I love talking about my writing and sharing every single thought I've ever had

I am also screaming!! So much!! I had so much excited and also nervous energy going into this that it's still lingering. I mean. I'd never written a proposal scene before and have no experience with proposals. And also Arin didn't mention anything about them in cer little requests thing so I wasn't sure how it would be received.

Was toying around with a few different ideas as to what, exactly was happening with the two of them because there were a few blank spots in my plans. First, they were going to go to Tiergan's office and knock over a bookshelf to make the noise. Then I went??? an office?? why would they go there. So then I created their family library. And then I went well there's no way these shelves aren't either built into the walls or very secure, so they can't knock over a shelf. So then I decided all the books were gonna fall off, but then I needed a reason for that. Why would one of them knock all the books off? And so I was gonna tie that to the kiss I promised Arin I'd include, and then I went..hmmm..what if...they got engaged...and now they are :)

honestly I'm mostly surprised that so many people are reading it so soon after posting, i assumed people would see the word count and go "wow that's too much I'll read that later," because a reasonable response to so many words. but turns out y'all love tiertice and the solreef family enough that 19k words was instead very enticing :)

Also idk how I wrote so much it was an accident. Probably helps that I'm on break and we just ended nano last month so I was already primed for high word count days. And also the pressure of a deadline is helpful! Created the doc december 11 and finished the 29th, with almost half of the fic in the past week or so specifically. i am speed!

I basically day dream this soooo this could be any genshin character that you want…

So this is how it goes, one of the genshin men, xiao in my imagine, were transported first to our world and get to meet the reader first. Then a few years after that, the other genshin men arrive in our world.

And the funny part is that Childe immediately started to propose on the spot

Childe: Please marry me! I’ve been waiting for ages to be with you.

Reader: … I already have children.

Childe: Don’t worry I’m good with kids. I’ll make sure to be a great fa-

Reader: I’m also married.

Childe and Xiao basically have a stare off. If it weren’t for the children on Xiao, Childe would have lunge on him already.

The other men are too stun to speak because of Childe’s shamelessly then Reader’s reveal about having a family with Xiao.

Altho regardless of who got to reader first if it isn’t Childe he would demand a death match.

nuzzle his neck. kiss the top of his head. relax and regulate your breathing calmly, maybe hum a calming song if you're into that, and wait.

xiao will slowly relax. the frown between his eyebrows disappears. the downturn of his lips smoothening out into a neutral line bordering on an upward curve. the blush on his cheeks washes out. if you're brave enough, don't be afraid to tuck his head into your chest - he loves hearing your heartbeat. unknowingly, his own heart syncs with yours, along with his breathing.

when you drift to sleep, he might follow - and if you're lucky, he might even join you in your dreams, where you can continue to cuddle in a field of flowers <3

The other one would totally tease him about it. The reader knows fae for some reason (maybe they are fae? idk) and replies to him in fluent fae one day ("If I didn't know better, I'd say you were the god of love incarnate" or "I love you too.") and he just completely freezes and goes bright red, realizing you could understand him the entire time and the other is just trying not to laugh while the rest of the chain is trying to figure out what's happening.

Oh the other person is never going to live it down.

Reader would have let it go on for longer if it hadn't seem like they were a split second from proposing without anyone else's knowledge.

Reader thought it was sweet and they admittedly they're not use to so many compliments. It took a lot of will power to not swoon on the spot.

Peter had the jitters all day, he itched to call the man or at least send him a message but he tried to not lose himself in his reveries to make the most of his time with his friends enjoyable.

That night, when Peter was in his bed, unable to sleep as usually at this time he was making his patrol around the Queens. Peter took out the paper he had put on his nightstand and decided it would be a good time to send a message to James.

"Hey!"

"It's Peter :) "

"The guy who knocked into you at the market today."

"I mean- I'm the guy who knocked into you today. Peter's just my name!"

In his panic or excitement, Peter had sent 4 messages and as he read them again, felt ashamed. He wanted to sent another message telling the man to ignore all of his previous messages and Peter was turning into am anxious mess until

"Aah the pretty boy ;)"

"I was wondering when you'd send me a message~"

Upon reading this Peter could feel his face burning and he was quite sure he had turned a bright shade of red. Peter quickly wrote back, not wanting to pass on the occasion.

"Sorry i was occupied visiting the town with my friends."

"How do you like it so far?"

"I really like it, it's different from New York and the old buildings are really cool to watch! Though i have yet to visit some museums."

"Glad you like it. If you want I can show you some places I really like. What do you say?"

That made Peter's brain stutter. Was he proposing him to go on a kind of date? He read the text again and again, not knowing whether or not it was an actual date or if he'd just received some addresses to visit. He hesitated for a few seconds more before shooting back a text that clearly wasn't one he'd usually sent to someone he's interested in.

"Is that a date? ;) "

"Yes."

"I have to admit you surprised me there. Didn't thought you'd have it in you to be daring haha."

Peter grinned, and he could feel his cheek hurts from how wide the smile etched on his face and he quickly texted back.

"I have my moments haha :3 When would you like to meet up?"

"Idk do you have a time limit you have to be back with you pals?"

"Erm... I'd say 6pm."

"Well that leaves us quite the time. What do you say about meeting up at 2pm at the market entrance? I think 4 hours is plenty to visit some places.", Peter beamed as he read the text. He was going to spend some time with the man. He could almost felt himself shake due to the excitement it was generating in him.

"That works for me. I'm excited to see you tomorrow :)"

"Same doll."

Peter found himself at a loss of words. Should he send him a good night message? He suddenly felt quite tired so maybe he should before he falks asleep on the spot.

"I'm tired. Have a good night! I'll se you tomorrow then! ^^"

"Thanks pretty! Sweet dreams :)"

Peter was close from squealing. James was quite the charmer it seemed and it was nearly a given he'd dream about this tall, dark and handsome man tonight. As he fell asleep he thought he'd had to tell MJ and Ned about his plans for the afternoon to avoid giving them a heart attack.

Finally got to your answer about PD and boy do I have Thoughts about this show.

I really feel bad for Jekyll's actor. In the end he was kinda just there to be an eye candy and have slurs thrown at him, because what else is a Pakistani man for in a 2010s show? I really wanted him to do and be more. Seeing him team up with (and maybe kiss) Renfield would be... Just beautiful, ok, I love me some characters who start wrecking things because they were treated like dirt by everyone around them.

Also the showrunners putting Sam Barnett, the gayest, fluffiest, sunny twink in front of me and going: "Look, this one has never been loved and he definitely wants women in a creepy way" was just so funny. Guys, I know like 12 men who'd propose to him on the spot, also he looks like he has never thought about a girl carnally.

I really liked his Renfield though. There's just something very pretty and very tragic about him, like yes, he's very much going for Frye-vibes, but it all comes out simply endearing. Barnett!Renfield feels and sounds like Frye's younger brother. I do believe this Renfield genuinely loved his Master, I do believe he'd be torn up about having to hurt living beings in the most heart-wrenching way.

Also don't get me started on his Seward and his Dracula.

“How did Derek propose?” Link found himself blurting out. Meredith peered over at him. He could see the confusion in her face, despite the surgical mask covering most of it.

“Are you thinking of proposing?” She asked turning back to her sutures.

“Maybe...yes. I think so,” he waved his instrument filled hands awkwardly, obviously flustered.

“Derek proposed in an elevator,” she put simply.

“Why an elevator?” Link asked.

Meredith shrugged. “It was just kind of a special place for us,” he tell she was smiling from her eyes. “It seems so silly now but honestly I was so in love with him that he could’ve done anything. It was perfect.”

“I know me and Amelia haven’t been together for that long, just with the baby on its way...not that that’s a reason. I just—”

“You don’t need to justify yourself,” Meredith interrupted. “When you know, you know.”

“Exactly,” Hayes’ chimed in. Link looked up to the peds surgeon, who he wasn’t aware was following the conversation.

Link placed his lab coat and scrubs in his locker before turning to leave the attending’s lounge.

“Hey,” Owen greeted him as he entered the room.

“Hi,” Link responded.

“You waiting for Amelia?” He asked as he went to open his own locker. Link nodded. “I just saw her get pulled into a surgery. Might be awhile.”

“Oh,” Link responded, as if on cue his phone buzzed with a message from her. “Great.”

Owen chuckled. “The life of two surgeons in a relationship.”

“Hey, how did you propose?” He asked. Owen raised his eyebrows, not expecting the question.

“Uh, which time?” He answered awkwardly. Link shrugged, hoping he hadn’t hit a sensitive spot. “Well my first proposal I just proposed to Cristina on the couch in our living room. It just seemed right and she wasn’t really into the romantic stuff,” he chuckled as if recalling an old memory. “Uh, with Amelia, well she actually proposed to me.” Link shifted uncomfortably in his seat, not aware of this story. “We’d both had past relationships and didn’t really want anything big. With Teddy, it was an on call room. I guess I’m not really the romantic type.” He shrugged. Link recalled Amelia’s story about their honeymoon troubles and believed it. “Are you thinking of proposing?”

“I guess so.” Link grinned.

“Well you’ll be the forth guy to propose to her.” Link tried to hide his surprise. “Weren’t aware of that one? She’s a handle that’s for sure and definitely a runner. That’s why she came to Seattle in the first place.” Owen clapped a hand on Link’s shoulder. “Good luck.”

“What’s up, you look stressed.” Jo slid into the cafeteria seat beside him. “What you got there?” Her eyes widened as she caught sight of it. “Atticus Lincoln, is that a ring box?”

“Jo, shut up,” he shushed her frantically.

“Wow, Shepherd did a number on you. It’s like we’re back in high school,” Jo teased, shoving a spoonful of jello into her mouth. “Yeah, I know it’s nasty. I forgot my lunch,” she explained, replying to his confused look. “So what are you going to do?”

“I don’t know,” he answered defensively, not exactly sure why he was being defensive. “I’ve been trying to get advice.”

“Well it’s not like this is you or Amelia’s first marriage. She probably isn’t expecting anything.”

“I know,” he sighed. “What did Alex do?”

Jo grinned. “He’d set up this whole little romantic dinner and I was going to break up with him.”

“What?” Link exclaimed.

“Yeah, I was all about ultimatums back then. Me or Meredith, all that shit. Anyways, it was sweet and small and perfect.”

“So you didn’t break up with him?”

“No, I figured that once I was his wife he’d have to choose me over Meredith.” She shrugged. “Turns out I like her more than I was expecting to. If you want to talk to the big romantic people you could talk to Jackson. Maybe not the best way but he called of April’s whole wedding to confess his love to her. Arizona proposed to Callie and then they got in a car accident. Less romantic, more catastrophic.

“Who are—”

“And then Teddy proposed to her first husband because he was her patient and didn’t have good health insurance.”

“What?”

“Crazy times happened at this hospital before you came around,” Jo patted his arm. “Look, I know you want to do something nice but she’ll love anything you end up doing.” And with that she headed out of the cafeteria, jello cup in hand.

The next night Link raced to Meredith’s, knowing that Amelia’s shift ended only an hour after his. Maggie had told him to set up at Meredith’s and that he could tell Amelia that they were having a girls night to throw her off. Link was pretty sure Amelia didn’t need ‘throwing off’ but he agreed knowing that Maggie most likely wanted to see Amelia’s reaction.

“What do you mean you aren’t already married, aren’t you having a baby?” Zola asked as Link was frantically setting the table for two. “Mom says that you get married first and then the baby comes after.”

“Well in most cases.” Link answered, glancing over at her. “Hey, Zola stop picking at those flowers.” Referring to the bouquet he’d bought on their way home.

“Sorry,” Zola shrugged. “You’re just making her dinner? What else?”

“I don’t know,” Link mumbled guiltily. “What do you think I should do?”

“I dunno,” Zola answered. “That’s your job.”

“Right,” Link sighed as he tossed the salad and placed the bowl on the table. Suddenly, he heard the front door open. “Do I kneel now?” He asked Zola.

“How am I supposed to know, do I look married to you?” Zola replied. Link decided to kneel, his heart thumping in his chest. His shaky hands reached into his pocket.

“False alarm,” Zola giggled as Meredith entered the room.

“Oh wow,” Meredith laughed. “I’m so flattered.” She mocked fanning her face.

“Shut up,” Link grumbled. “I’ve been trying to get this right all week and I can’t figure out anything to do justice to how much she means to me. I wanted to plan out this big romantic gesture but that just seems dumb and I don’t want to wait any longer. I would marry her right now if I could. I’ve been carrying around this stupid ring all week trying to find a time to give it to her that seemed right but I’m so worried that I’ll screw it up that I back out every time. Like how do I ask her to marry me and sum up all the million things I love about her into such a short amount of time?” He ran a pathetically shaky hand through his hair.

“That’ll do,” Amelia’s soft voice enters the room, her hands circling the swollen bump that recently formed on her abdomen.

“I was about to tell you,” Meredith grinned.

“Are you kidding me?” Link balled his hands in frustration. Meredith grabbed Zola by the hand, the little girl’s eyes wide as if she were watching a special on tv, and dragged her out of the room to give the couple some space. “Amelia, I wanted—”

“Link, this is perfect.” Her eyes scanned the room, softy lit by a couple of candles on the table. A bottle of sparkling water was sitting in a small bath of ice and she smiled as she saw that he’d made all her favourite pregnancy cravings. A sharp aroma drifted through the room and Link seemed to noticed it too.

“I burnt the chicken,” he nodded in disappointment, not even bothering to run to the kitchen in an attempt to salvage it. “This is a nightmare.”

“This is not a nightmare.” Amelia shook her head, wrapping his arms around her waist and pressing a lingering kiss to his lips. “You are absolutely perfect in every way, Atticus Lincoln.” He tried to conceal the blush that was overwhelming his cheeks, feeling like an idiot. “Now do you have a question to ask me or...” she bit her lip with a smile.

“Oh. Yeah!” He knelt down on one knee and glanced up into her deep blue eyes before removing the lid to the little velvet box in her hand. “Amelia Shepherd, from the moment I met you I haven’t spent a day without the thought of you entering my mind. You amaze and inspire me to be a better person and a better surgeon.” He paused as he saw tears begin to build at the edges of her eyes. “You make me so excited to be a father. I mean very scared...but also very excited and I would love to spend the rest of my life raising this child, and maybe other children,” he tried to hide his excitement, “with you. I wan’t to wake up beside you every morning and fall sleep with you in my arms every night. Amelia, will you marry me?”

“Of course,” she answered without hesitation. “And I would reply with the same answer if you’d asked me on our car ride to work or in the middle of surgery.”

“Would that have been better?”

“No, you loser,” she rolled her eyes as he slipped the ring on her finger. “Now come here and give your fiancée some kisses.”

I've made lots of decisions behind your back on my own for this AU, but this one specifically I feel as though I want your input:

Should Sonic propose?

My biggest gripe is that while I technically have them aged up a bit, probably 19 or 20 the both of them, it still feels. A little young.

Sonic in original source material is already pretty marriage-averse (we stan an aro-coded icon). I can however flip his idea of marriage on its head like "I thought that marriage would cement me in my place and I'd never have any freedom but our relationship has been an adventure and maybe marriage would be the start of a new adventure I'd love to embark on with you."

Marriage proposal cements that Amy will never reclaim Sonic as her partner therefore cementing her as a family disappointment, so it feels almost... necessary to push her to the edge...

But I don't feel like either of them would want a public proposal, much less a televised one, much less one in front of Amy, who they've both been avoiding for a long while. And I've already played the "finds out about major plot point through the news which sets off an event bigger event" card. I'd rather not be repetitive.

I'm going to ask more people, but your input is always incredibly appreciated.

Firstly, it honors me to no end that my input is so valued by you! I'm sure you know since you're asking others too, but of course these are just my thoughts and if you take them in a different direction than me I still have faith that you'll execute your own plans very well! Anyway, imo for the purposes of the narrative (especially Amy's arc), I do think it's important that Sonic and Shadow get engaged. A few thoughts:

The age is certainly jarring by our standards (I'm about to be 21 and I certainly am not ready for that kinda commitment lol), but I think considering the setting (assuming you're keeping the heavy fairy tale/Disney inspiration) I don't think marrying as a young adult is too shocking. Most Disney Princesses are roughly 15-19, and the majority of them marry or at least get engaged to their princes by the end of the movie (the implications there are ripe for discussion), so if D!Mobius is drawing from that source material like Auradon does, then I don't think them getting engaged at 20-ish will raise any eyebrows, especially since that doesn't necessarily mean they're getting married immediately. My parents married at like 21/22 if that means anything regarding my perspective on this.

I agree that canon Sonic would never marry, although I think you're right about how D!Sonic's perspective on it could be a little more open. The way I see it, a lot of Sonic's aversion to committed relationships is that he doesn't want to be slowed down by being tied to another person (valid), but Shadow is literally one of the only people who can keep up with him. I think that viewing their marriage as their next big adventure works really well! Especially since I assume D!Sonic probably lived a pretty quiet palace life before he met Shadow.

Yeah, publicized marriage proposals that aren't discussed prior rub me the wrong way, because that's a huge commitment to put someone on the spot like that with. I'm not sure how you'd go about portraying the proposal, maybe the actual proposal happens privately but their announcement is public? And because Amy is a princess (or however nobility works in this AU) she's a large public figure and just Has to be there to hear the announcement regardless of how anyone feels? Like, "oh the king is making a big announcement today, the noble Rose bloodline has to show up" idk

I imagine because this'll be prose it's no longer gonna be a musical (not that that's impossible to pull off) but I just wanna say that in the movie I love that in this scene they have a callback to Did I Mention because in D1 that was the scene where Audrey first felt betrayed.

But like I said, that's just my thoughts! I'm excited to see where you take this!

Hihi Cat! I've come to deliver some good news! (This is pretty long huhu ToT)

MY ERB HAS BEEN APPROVED AND I CAN PROCEED TO RECRUIT PARTICIPANTS!! Ahh it's been such a blessing to be able to proceed immediately! I've actually hit my target amount of participants in less than a day (IT'S CRAZY) but I'm gonna collect more responses cuz the more the better! (Would you wanna check the questionnaire out? Also also I PASSED THAT FINALS! The one I took a day after my vaccination (1st dose) ToT GAHH I'm so happy I won't even ask for more, it's enough :3

I've been writing my thesis during this sem break but it's progressing pretty slowly cuz I've been so drained from last semester and the vaccine itself. Huhu but I've written a brief rundown for my proposal so there's a rough idea there, just needa rly assemble it into a clear narrative. And yes I agree! Psychology studies are a beautiful fusion of science & human essence imo, and its fascinating learning more abt ourselves and how we as the human species progress in life ya know? 😌

I got my second dose exactly a week ago and got the same side effects - headache, arm soreness, hunger, fatigue; I felt like a fusion of psyduck & snorlax HAHAHAHA 😂 - it wasn't anything serious so yay I'm fully vaccinated! (in a few weeks time keke I'll be)

HAHAHAHA my vaccination appointments were pretty eventful. The nurses and volunteers were all so warm and friendly! I'm the type of person who feels whatever's being injected into me, it's not the pain that I wanna distract myself from (it wasn't pain tbh) but that sluggish discomfort I get from the needle ejaculation >//< sooo as they showed me the vile and syringe before injecting me, I prepped my Yangyang photocard in my hand. During my second dose, the nurse thought I had some fancy way of taking a video when in actual fact I was just looking at my Yangyang photocard hehe UwU she asked me whether I wanted to see the needle going in (smtg I can't look at tbh) and I was like HELL NAH ToT

For my course structure:

We have 2 long sems (Jan - Apr, & Aug - Dec, 16 weeks) & a short sem (May - July, 9 weeks)! Our sem breaks are only around a month then it's back to sleepless nights ToT AND YES those weeks were the most stressful weeks ever 🥺😭 I'm glad I'm graduating soon for that reason 😂(though idk what awaits in the working world ToT that is another fear I have :/)

for my 3D design class, I decided to do lightbulbs and flowers as my overarching theme for my art pieces !! I included a couple pictures below under the cut at the bottom 💓 the first one is a soft sculpture made out of newspaper, and there’s a pencil next to it for size reference, the second one is made of wires that I shaped myself, and the third one is made of foam boards that I cut and assembled myself as well 💕 and I included a picture of my final painting project! it’s a triptych and I believe the size was like 18 x 24 for each one? If you click on the picture, it should be better quality!

omg I love green tea ice cream too !!!!! 🍵🍦 I like going to somi somi for their matcha and milk swirl ice cream with red bean taiyaki 💚 I only had thai milk tea ice cream once, but it was phenomenal 🤩 I wish they sold it near me too !! milk and biscoff :o I’ve never tried that flavor! ah, I got my job through my internship, so I’m not sure how helpful I will be 😅 but during the process of interviewing for internships, there were several rounds for each company that range from a group interview, a one on one interview, video interview where they give you random questions that you have to answer on the spot (some of mine were discuss the stock market, give a sales pitch on something you’re interested in, etc), a test, etc. I think it’s different depending on the job you’re going for, but that’s what I had to do in the business field! It’s important to study and prep for all of this!! It’s like taking an verbal exam for one of your classes. And also make sure to study the company’s website and familiarize yourself with what they do/sell.

My one piece of overall advice would be about interviews! Interviews are important in which the person interviewing you is seeing if you’ll be a good fit with the company, not in terms of skill, but personality. They already know you’re qualified and have good skills - that’s how you got the interview. With the interview, they’re essentially trying to see how personable you are and if you will work well with their team. Some people are so intent on proving their skills that they kinda just rattle off all their achievements and whatnot, and it’s like... the interviewer already knows this, it’s all on the resume they reviewed when they decided to give the interview offer. Be friendly, open, maybe make a little small talk at the beginning (“hey, how are you? any weekend plans / how was your weekend?” This is what I did for all my business interviews, and I got an offer back from every one 🤧💗), make appropriate jokes / be a little funny, just show that you’d be a fun person to have in the office whom people will want on their team, but that you will also be dedicated to the job and work hard 💘
