I agree ppl who disregard rap music as being ",not really music" are racist but as soon as u put ppl like nicki Minaj on a pedestal u lose credibility.

May i know what you think of this difference in treatment? I have seen solos talk about it but you know they can go to extreme with their biasness but i have never seen jkkrs talk much about the difference. They only say the comapny hates jm and nothing more than that is addressed. They never say jm is competition or any kinda assume but just comapny hates it so idk what ppl that love both jm and jk thinks of this difference in treatment.
Also did you notice that they put jk's solo logo on that song. I mean why put the logo for a song that's supposed to be for armys and festa.... isn't it his solo logo or it's different..
I think I've talked about differences in treatment of both of them in terms of label management. Perhaps last year, around the Seven release. I would have linked the posts, but I apologize once again for this website not being helpful at all.
Jimin and Jungkook have proven that they are the only two members of BTS with an actual succesful solo career in terms of popularity. I'm mentioning this criteria because it's the one brought to the front in every single debate/insult/you name it. So from that perspective, they are both doing well. The difference is that Jungkook's solo path was a BH project in collaboration with Hybe America, whilst Jimin's was not and took a more traditional k-pop direction. Which does make him a competition because his achievements have had close to zero label support. Does it sound absurd? Yes. But if Bang Si Hyuk wasn't happy with NJ and obviously prefered Le Sserafim, even though the success of both groups made him a richer man, then I believe anything is possible. It may be more subtle in the case with BH and the BTS members, maybe there's nuances there on a personal level, I don't know. I'd expand more on it if other text messages would be leaked. Until then, shall I say that it remains a bit vague.
It's clear that Jungkook's solo career in 2023 has been crafted folowing a very specific model, hence all the promotions and label involvement have been in accordance to that model. I would also want to mention that a concept such as fairness or equal treatment is non existent in such an industry. Perhaps the fandom at large was led to believe that based on the BTS idea of togetherness and unity and whatever meaning they have went for. Solo careers are obviously a very different thing in which a lot of factors are at play. From individual preferences, to financial aspects, to what is worth investing in based on possible returns, to perhaps more malicious reasons. Jimin appears to have gotten the short end of the stick with his first solo album, but nevertheless, has had quite a lot of impact. That's a remarkable achievement, especially when compared to a debut fully backed by the label. I don't know what the treatment of Jimin's second album will be like or even after he returns, but I do know that as a fan, it can be frustrating and as much as I still have some hope left, there hasn't been any indication yet that the situation will change. (Sometimes I wish I had been a casual fan, with no access to details or more insight, so I could just enjoy his music and that's it).
As to your last point, I did notice the logo. Regardless of its use or not, the song is for his fans and army, both words used in the announcement (the same as when Jimin released Closer to You, so I find theories on this subject a waste of time).
That logo is part of his brand, which is now under a trademark. If I recall, there was an application for this right before he enlisted. It is a direction he chose for his solo career and I personally don't have an issue with it. He is a BTS member and a solo artist and those two sides can be interchanged and/or used at the same time. To me, it looks like Jungkook chose to create his own brand in connection to his music career. At the same time, Jimin has done something similar. His dad is making sure of that with the ZMillenial brand, but in a slightly different direction. So far, I believe they are the only members of BTS who have done it and perhaps it's nothing but a smart business decision.

okay so while we’re on the topic… i’m a newer fan of the boys, i actually got tickets to one of their concerts back in october when they were touring in america from my aunt even though i had never really been a fan of them (her heart was in the right place 😭😭 bc i do listen to a lot of music that’s like in their sphere ig?? and i’ve been to festivals that they’ve performed at so i can see why she would’ve thought to get me those tickets, i just never really listened to their music before) but i went to the show regardless bc hello free concert tickets?? would have been a sin to let them go to waste tbh and oh my god am i so glad i did, it was actually one of the best shows i’ve ever been too!! especially considering i only really knew their popular songs?? like robbers, somebody else, aaaand it’s not living if it’s not with you
ANYWAYS that being said, since i had never really followed them before i always pretty much ignored anything i saw about them on twitter and stuff, mainly the negative things said abt matty bc not my faves, not my business?? but i gotta ask someone who’s been a fan of them for a lot longer than i have, what iiiis the deal with all the “matty healy racist” “matty healy homophobic” “matty healy [insert smth hateful here]” rhetoric??? bc from what i’ve seen of him after getting to know more abt the band he doesn’t appear that way at all?? like were there things he said that were taken out of context??? what’s up with the nazi accusations??? also homophobic??? is twt not aware of what he did in malaysia?? also straight men that are homophobic would never have the kind of close male friendships that the band have with one another… it seems like he’s twitter’s scapegoat tbh but idk i’m simply so confused and anything i find online trying to explain it all seems very biased based off the language they use so if you can/would like to… pls help 😭
okay first of all, welcome to the fandom!! i'm so glad you're here and i'm so glad you got to see them live!! they genuinely are so so incredible <33
now onto the questions!
i won't say matty's a saint. he's definitely done things in the past that are disappointing (to me at least, as well as to many others on here). last year he went on a podcast called the adam friedland show where many tasteless jokes were made about japanese people, the porn website ghetto gaggers, ice spice as well as countless other tastelss things were said.
now i really really want to clarify that matty never made those jokes but he did laugh along to them which is also a shitty fucking thing to do. he's since said that he was advised not to go on the podcast by people close to him and he still did it. however, he's also publicly apologised to ice spice and she's also said that the 1975 are one of her fav artists.
in may of 2023 he started allegedly dating taylor swift (i still don't believe it, i still think they either just made music or they just fucked or both) which exposed him to a whole new level of fame that was unprecedented. and the swifties are... rabid, to say the least. they made fun of his appearance, his past addiction issues, hoped he would have a relapse and die, all sorts of horrendous stuff. they discovered the podcast which was pretty fresh at the time and the whole thing spiralled into him being labelled a racist, homophobe, transphobe, pedophile, nazi, you name it, he was being called it.
however literally NONE of it was backed by evidence (but i don't expect people whose sole source of information is twt to realise that)
they have clearly never learned what a nazi is. i'm not even going to try to debunk that here because i feel like it would be insulting to your intelligence
he's not homophobic or transphobic, he's literally an ally to the point of being a fruity lil shit. he's been banned from 2 countries (dubai and malaysia) for openly supporting queer rights. they were also briefly jailed in malaysia for the stunt they pulled and had a lawsuit filed against them. he's even won ally of the year at the diva awards in 2019
literally every single fan who's ever met him has had nothing but amazing things to say about him. he's been incredibly kind and sweet to people
the band has always been openly political and vocal about their beliefs
you're absolutely right about him being the twitter scapegoat because unfortunately that's exactly what it is </3
i hope that clears things up tho, i'm sorry this is so long!!

Hello! I hope your having a nice day. I was thinking abt this and I thought that you could give me some insight. What do you think Yuki's and Shizu's relationship was like? We know that him and Hiragi got along very well. As Hiragi admired him. But it seems to me that in that chapter (I don't remember the # sorry!) Were Mafuyu asks Shizu advice for music and his relationship abt Ritsuka. That when Shizu gets WAY of topic and says that the group was super Yuki-centered and how that was irritating. It seems to me that maybe he didn't like how much everyone revolved around him and admired him? As if it irritates him? Idk we don't really have much insight from him what his relationship with Yuki was like. So we might not be ae to tell for sure.
Hello friend! Thank you! Hope you are having a good one too! I'd like to point you towards this meta of mine, Discovering the true intention behind Shizu’s actions in Mix_8 completely changed how I saw the Shizuragi ship! This meta, although it doesn't address your question directly, I think it clears a lot of things up so PLEASE READ before proceeding.
Shizu and Yuki's relationship explained
In my opinion, Kizu never fully goes into the details of the dynamics between Shizu and Yuki but out of everyone, Shizu felt least close to Yuki compared to Mafuyu and Hiiragi. Shizu feels like
Yuki adopted the abandoned Pomeranian and calico cat and he's just tagging along. But Shizu feels like he doesn't belong to the squad/isn't as close to Yuki is his own doing due to:
his own abandonment issues resultant from being a LITERAL foster child
him joining the childhood squad later than the rest of the three
thinking that his three friends as being better than him from birth.
Tumblr media
In mix_9, Kizu's placement of Yuki, Mafuyu and Hiiragi on stage is literally so telling of how Shizu felt. Of course he could choose to be on that stage as well, but he needs help to make he feel like he is worthy of being on stage.
Hiiragi is amazing, because Hiiragi noticed that Shizu needed help, Hiiragi had always been leading Shizu ever since he was a little kid. Hiiragi is absolutely that kid who is annoying but makes everyone feel included. And Shizu, is so happy and appreciative of that
to the point of feeling possessive over Hiiragi.
Sometimes, people with abandonment wounds feel possessive and jealous easily. This is because they are always scared that everything good can disappear at any moment. It may result in a person feeling super clingy emotionally. In Shizu's case, he is outwardly nonchalant but inwardly super clingy. Shizu, at some point in his childhood started to romantically idolise Hiiragi.
Tumblr media
SO, Shizu's felt irritated towards Yuki because Hiiragi idolised Yuki.
BUT, Shizu's own abandonment wounds clouded his judgement because he mistook Hiiragi's idolisation of Yuki as a romantic one instead of a paternal one. Shizu mistook Hiiragi as being in love with Yuki when Hiiragi actually put Yuki on a pedestal like a child admiring a fatherly figure.
Yuki I think for the most part didn't do anything objectively irritating to make Shizu dislike him. Neither did the squad, they were always hanging out together. Shizu's inferiority complex and attachment towards Hiiragi made him look for someone contrasting his own circumstances to blame, which was Yuki.
Yuki - most panels depict him as the popular kid
Shizu - the literal foster child
Yuki - has both Mafuyu and Hiiragi's attention
Shizu - feels like he has none, but in truth Hiiragi is quite observant of Shizu's hesitation in participating fun things to make an effort to include him.
It's basically like the song Heather by Conan Gray.
Because Shizu also saw Yuki as being better than him in the literal sense, this actually didn't allow Shizu to really understand Yuki as a multi-faceted person. I think Shizu for the most part just accepted Yuki as someone with better circumstances than him, even beyond death. BUT AGAIN, that doesn't make Shizu a bad person. It makes him a human one. On top of that, Shizu's abandonment wounds were exacerbated when Hiiragi continued to emotionally dump on him whenever he wanted to but look towards Yuki for motivation and inspiration. And those are pretty VALID feelings which needed to be communicated and addressed for healthy healing, which they were in mix_4 to Mafuyu and mix_8 to Hiiragi. As you pointed out, Shizu gets off topic with Mafuyu, this is a great thing because for once, he is acknowledging his own feelings outwardly rather than keeping them inside. This then led him to realise that he needed to clarify things with Hiiragi rather than let these feelings of abandonment brew longer.
Currently, I personally think he is no longer irritated at Yuki. Please remember that Shizu also lost Yuki. Grief for him could have also manifested as irritation. It’s all very complicated when you lose someone right? I think Shizu’s probably found the new song “To the Sea” just as healing as Hiiragi and Mafuyu, he’s just not really the outwardly expressive type. But Kizu Natsuki did put in some tender faces in the recent chapters.
Tumblr media
Again, please read Discovering the true intention behind Shizu’s actions in Mix_8 completely changed how I saw the Shizuragi ship! (sorry for pasting again, it's just so important, I go into Shizu's insight so much more here).
As for Yuki, we never really get to have an insight into how Yuki feels about anyone, because he's passed away. We are only ever receiving second hand accounts of Yuki. But Kizu wrote it that way to highlight the fact that life is precious and if you're alive,
there is hope for you to tell your story and communicate clearly.

OCs as obscure references
@olesmokes tagged me in this (thank you, this was a lot of fun!)
Here is Merryn as obscure references
ANIMAL: Nightingale for the symbolism between nightingales and poets. From wikipedia:
Tumblr media
But also I kind of identify Merryn with like... some animal that is large and elegant but also distant and untouchable. Some kind of deer? Or a moose? I guess it's less about the animal itself and more about seeing it pass through your backyard, stepping gently and gracefully, you hold your breath as you see it cross into your domain and then it's gone again.
COLOR: a vibrant green or blue.
MONTH: December, he just seems like an end-of-the-year person
SONGS: these are the three most important ones
youtube
man-sized and made to measure night-stalker, razor, pleasure faux fallen angel empire
youtube
you're my deadly, deadly nightshade oh atropa belladona they say you are death incarnate and i should stay far away
youtube
make your own kind of music, even if nobody else sings along
(so glad the barbie movie brought this song back to popularity tbh)
NUMBER: 3
PLANTS: Willow
SMELLS: Brackish water, the sea, freshly turned earth.
GEMSTONE: Labradorite
Tumblr media
SEASON - Winter
TIME OF DAY - the deepest part of night when you can see the stars clearest
PLACES - a dock on the sea, the stage of an inn, under a tree in the town square.
FOOD - You know that tweet that's like "my boss passed my desk where I had cheese and summer sausage, dried figs with honey, and olives spread out for lunch and asked me why I eat like a roman emperor"? That's Merryn.
DRINKS - sweet and bitter in equal measure
ELEMENT - Water
ASTROLOGICAL SIGN - idk, I don't really understand astrology well enough to guess
SEASONINGS - is poison a seasoning? Rosemary, strongly umami flavored mushrooms.
SKY - deep dark, full of stars
WEATHER - just before a thunderstorm
MAGICAL POWER - Faerie Fire
WEAPONS - that singing sword you find in the underdark
SOCIAL MEDIA - if Merryn lived in a world where he had access to social media I feel like he still wouldn't understand or use it (this is one of those things where you can't give a character knowledge you yourself do not possess; tumblr is my only social media)
MAKEUP PRODUCT - none
CANDY - I feel like Merryn would love licorice
METHOD OF LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL - walking. Merryn has had plenty of time to learn to ride a horse but he's never bothered. He likes traveling and he likes being outside.
ART STYLE - idk, I'm not much of an artist myself. I think Merryn would like landscape painting because it would allow him to recreate the natural beauty of the underdark
FEAR - Merryn has intimacy issues, his biggest fear is I think revealing too much of himself to someone and being rejected.
MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURE - phoenix
PIECE OF STATIONARY - sealing wax and stamps
THREE EMOJIS - ♠️🕺🫧
CELESTIAL BODIES - the moon
I'm tagging anyone who wants to do it!

Sorry for the rant, feel free to ignore.
I love bts and I love all the members and I always have. But I can’t lie and say it’s not majorly disappointing when songs/works that seem like they least deserve it, end up with the awards or the records (though I’ve never personally cared for records much, awards are what’s actually important aside from the actual music of course, but kpop fabdoms are obsessed with records and numbers so it’s easy to fall into that)
Like I remember feeling it most strongly with dynamite. Sure it’s a fun song to listen and dance to, but it being the first bts song to be nominated for the Grammys? And it being their first song to land a #1 on the hot 100?
And I understand popularity, and success in the US specifically plays a role in this but that’s kind of my point.
The songs they quite literally poured their blood sweat and tears and that we can literally hear and feel every emotion from them will never achieve the kind of things songs like dynamite or butter do. And what’s worse, is that bts become recognized for those songs. And the reason for it is quite literally because of how close minded a lot of people in America are.
I feel like an anti for saying this, and that’s because of my disappointment and also due to the fandom calling anyone who thinks this way an anti, but it does get pretty frustrating especially when the fandom acts like certain songs are giant masterpieces when actual masterpieces made by bts exist.
I always tell myself it’s not that deep and who cares which songs are more successful because in the end, it doesn’t change who they are and what they do but then shit like bang od saying “we’re gonna focus on America” or whatever happens and it’s like “are you fucking kidding me?”
And it’s not that I have anything against jk (he’s literally in ny bias line and I’d feel the same way if it was any other member) but the idea of his most popular and successful work all being tied to that fucking man and those being the most successful soloist songs are so frustrating for me and they shouldn’t be but they are.
Like I love all of jk’s other music and he has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard, but it’s not those songs that are ever gonna get a lot of attention. It’s the ones he chose in America and the ones he’s tried on different people’s style rather than his own (since he’s still trying to figure out his, he’s said)
And that’s his choice and everything and as a fan I should respect that but it’s like…he has so much more potential than just being another basic American pop singer though that seems to be what he wants. It shouldn’t bother me but it does and I hate that, because who cares? He’s happy and it’s not like it’s bad music, so there shouldn’t be an issue. (But the kind of disappointment still lingers, and it hasn’t stopped since dynamite ngl. Like since dynamite a lot if things have happened with bts and now with their solo projects and if I’m being 100% honest, I saw that coming way back in 2021.)
Also here’s where I know I sound like an anti but it feels unfair that this English American produced and written by big names album will be compared with the other members’ solos by literally everyone.
Like they’re not on the same level at all in terms of promotion, and in terms of the target audience, but this fact will be ignored by everyone except for bitter antis but then those guys will focus on trying to prove “jungkook actually secretly sucks” (which is bs because he is insanely talented and he puts in so much effort into everything he does ) instead of the simple fact that “an album like golden is completely separate in every way from albums like jitb, indigo, face, d-day, and layover (and what ever Jin’s gonna come up with when he gets back)”
Idk maybe I am being one of those bitter people because I tend to be rapline biased (and v biased when it comes to vocal line) but I just don’t see it as a fair comparison.
The biggest music industry in the world is America and golden is made for America and American charts and American audience. Comparing it with albums not really made or advertised much outside of Korea/the Asian market doesn’t seem right.
And the thing is, Jungkook’s album would probably be one of the most successful even if it wasn’t mostly American or wasn’t targeting a western audience. The difference is that I wouldn’t have felt this way because yeah he deserves the success and it would be on the same level as the others.
But here, it feels weird. Because it’s not. Not pointing it out feels like anti behaviour, but also not saying so I don’t get criticized and hated feels like it’s a bit of a cult (if that makes sense)
I know I shouldn’t take this seriously and it’s usually easy for me to not get bothered and remind myself kpop isn’t worth all that, but sometimes things do get frustrating.
ESPECIALLY when you learn about all the sabotage certain members got from certain people/areas that other members did not.
Because several members did face sabotage or did unfortunately not receive the fandom’s full and proper attention or care and that too plays a major part in how the albums succeed, and also in how bothered I get.
Because nothing about this equal.
At the end of the day, all 7 of them are successful as a group and as soloists and they all deserve all the success and appreciation so there’s that I guess
Hi anon! First of all, sorry for the late reply, I was trying to let Jungkook’s album marinate a bit so I could clear my head about it too.
I wanna start saying that it IS unfortunate that most of BTS masterpieces will never get the treatment that the english trilogy got, and it pains me because their korean songs and lyrics are some of the most beautiful pieces we could get, but as you said, Americans— or better, the western industry is still full of prejudices and xenophobia, a korean song will never have the chance to shine like a full english one because the western industry doesn’t put them on the same level. And it’s awful, really. (Even though I liked Dynamite but that’s because it was a happy song that those times needed)
I don’t think it makes you an anti saying that, I don’t think it makes you an anti having a different opinion from the fandom (I’m a tae biased, I have lots of diff opinions and the fandom hates me for all of them ahaha), I didn’t care about charts either but ironically because of the success of the english trilogy, BangPd /Hybe had a Eureka moment and since that moment they tried to recreate that success in every way they could, with every group they could.
Regarding Jungkook, he told us he wanted to try different genres and wanted to become someone who could do multiple different things, I think he kinda succeeded in it with Golden (I say kinda because at the end of the day, he didn’t really try different genres but just pop and pop sub-genres), to be honest I thought he achieved that with Seven already, which was/is a smash hit, and because seven happened scooter obsession started, Bang pd money hungry ass got interested, and here we are. I do think Jungkook likes Golden, I don’t think thats the best he can do, I don’t want him to think that if one day he’s gonna release a self-written album he should expect a different reaction/support for it, because western support is not the most important (i mean, look at Layover) and the US market is not the only big market in the industry (Asia markets are very big too)…
Because the fandom became very chart driven you will always see those kind of comparisons, even though they are unfair because it’s not the same promo, not the same company support, not the same radio push, versions, remixes, etc etc etc… So I’d say to ignore people who compare stuff like that, at the end of the day it’s just wasted energy and akgaes got lots of free time. But yeah, I hope one day the other members will have a smooth release day like Golden, without sabotage :)

here's a... ship? trope? Thing. that I don't 100% get but find fascinating. full respect for folks out ther making art and content, and generally engaging in this... genre. trope.
【和尚的爱情】 [The Romantic Love of Monks]
Monks. The Chinese Buddhism flavor of monks, where they shave off all hair, denounce worldly possessions and family ties, and join a monastery. Specifically, these guys are committed to celibacy. Yeah on a logical level I'm like yeah, ok, this is a particular flavor of star-crossed lovers trope. But, I still, I.. it's too wacky funny to me. I.. I can't with the shiny cue-ball heads, PLEASE.
and there's. so much gorgeous art created. for this. uh genre? (Unfortunately it's typically m monk x f lead, and my limited exposure has yet to bring monk-flavored BL to my attention. I'm 100% certain it exists out there though.)
Anyway here's some popular media renditions of this, er, genre-trope. Please pray for my soul as I descend:
From Journey to the West, Tang Monk/Queen of the Kingdom of Women (西游记 - 唐僧/女儿国国王) (my rating: famous and classic, but there's something off about every rendition I've seen)
the 3rd installment of the HK Monkey King film series basically circles around shipping 唐三藏 with 女儿国国王. The Chinese movie title is 西游记:女儿国. There's some re-imagining/writing revisions from the source material, Journey to the West. The AMVs are spicy and the music is fire, and holy heck does the script/director want them to get together. The movie is corny, 孙悟空 is downright unhinged, the cg parts are too much, the pacing/tone is all over the place... a lot of this movie is weird. It's got mixed reviews but all the youtube comments love it idk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok but also... that second poster/playbill 💀🤣 (the text at the top is a pun on 好运来 -> 好孕来) (to explain: the mpreg is canon in the og jttw, if you drink the waters from 母亲河 you get pregnant. That concept gave me nightmares as a child.)
and here's a wonderful cover/mix by JJ Lin. The original song 女儿情 appears in 1986 Journey to the West :
youtube
the song is POV the Queen of the Kingdom of Women in full pining mode for Tang monk. And the mix-insert of 菊花台? Seamless lyric inclusion. chef's kiss. I think someone else singing an arrangement based off of JJ's made it into the 女儿国 movie mentioned earlier.
2. Green Snake/Fahai (青蛇/法海) (my rating: based)
There's the recurring retelling insisting on pairing Green Snake with the Fahai, the Buddhist monk that traps her sister White Snake in the pagoda in the traditional telling of 白蛇传. Here's a fan AMV on youtube & a fan AMV on bilibili. Both take clips are from the 1993 HK movie 青蛇. Honestly? This is the ship I endorse the most and have the least issues with (love 妖x人/妖x仙 dynamics but also in some retellings 法海 is also 妖). Regardless, the 1993 film is a masterpiece, I wholeheartedly recommend a watch (and in Canto if you can find the original audio. I don't like the mandarin dub's audio mixing).
3. Faithful to Buddha, Faithful to You (不负如来不负卿). (my rating: cursed) UMMM this one is wonky with age and time travel making it questionably problematic so uh, you're warned.
This story started off as a webnovel and later got a live action series (afaik live action isn't finished?). For some unknown reason I watched it when the first season was airing... and... Forget that whole "getting together with a sworn-to-celibacy monk" thing being taboo, now we're time traveling and meeting said monk when he's 13 to become his tutor, and a few months later in your time, you time travel again to when he's 26. (FMC doesn't have feelings for him until she meets him when he's an adult but. Girl. This is still too weird okay?)
4. 少林降魔 Vanquishing the Demon (2020) (my rating: spicy [purely based on seeing an AMV])
this movie is solidly xianxia, and it looks pretty enough I'll watch it eventually. But, waow, this AMV clip. I think it made me understand how this genre!trope fits solidly into hopeless romantic/star-crossed lovers territory.
I'm probably missing a bunch of other pieces of media there's a looot of AMVs with clips from either CG donghua or video game cinematics but UM yeah hello. I didn't know this was such a thing. I'm not explicitly out there searching for BL monks okay *old man hacking cough* but I hadn't really found any... yet. The end result of my dive is... I guess I now find monks just a little sexier now, FML

Now it is Tavàr (hehe) to talk more about:
Music!
Buckle up cause this is going to be a long ride
So I’ve talked a little about this already. There are these spirit like kinda beings that connect so to say to the souls of living creatures. The name I’m currently using for them is ‘singers’ (I’m probably gonna change it at some point.) Together they make music and sing.
Tumblr media
Which looks like this circling above everyone's head. Little more on this later.
Now it will probably become more unclear from here but I'll try my best to make it comprehensible.
Let's start with what the music is about. This is different for everyone and it is about a lot of different things, always changing and growing through life. The music and song are about the life of the person primarily and is both unique to them in lyrics and sound. This means the song sings about things that person has done or experienced in their life. In normal everyday situations this might just be almost narrating in song what they are doing at that moment. Other times it might sing about things that had a bigger impact on their lives, from single experiences like getting into a fight to longer periods of time like being around someone you like a lot. Really anything that is important to the person will be reflected in their song. Other people are very common to be reflected into someones song. When this happens it's common that for example that the other persons rhythm and/or melody shows up in their song. If this person is very important that it could become a standard part of the first persons song.
Now the music will also reflect emotions. Not only in the words that are sung, but also in the sounds or instruments, the rhythm, the melody and the volume of the song. If a person is happy, their song will sound happy. If they are really happy, their song will also become louder!
"But then everyone can hear me being very sad!" You cry (maybe idk) Well yes, but actually no. See, your song by default is only audible to you. (Yes you do basically always hear it but if you live in Yídràl you're used to it). But only if your emotions are strong, or if you purposefully make it louder will others be able to hear it.
Wait that's still an issue then if you want to be very sad without people knowing! (This, btw, is less common on Yídràl though reaching out is a lot more common there for most people in part due to the music.) Well good news! most people have enough control over their singers that they can keep them quiet if they must. This is not really that different from just hiding your emotions normally, just with an extra factor to keep in mind. The stronger the emotion, the harder it becomes, though. Outbursts in music do happen and they get very loud.
Hey. Still with me?
All that was just music from an individual perspective. But on Yídràl, music is a social thing! How do singers act in these social situations?
So as I said in another post, people sing and make music together all the time. Their singers will join in with the fun and add to the music being made. For example at a job with a lot of physical labour, different types shanties are very popular, and while the people themselves might be singing, their singers will add the sound of various instruments or extra background vocals. In a situation like this, singers often don't circle above their own persons head anymore but circle freely together through the group of people. When the workers from the example are done and going home, the singers will return to their own individual.
Usually this is pretty harmoniously, where everyone sings together and amplify each other. However, sometimes you have people who think they are better than others, and one way they try to express this through music. See it is possible (albeit difficult) to get other peoples singers to amplify your music similarly to singing in groups but without the others wanting to participate. This is also often done by nobility, high ranking military and rulers to show their power. Often with people with high status people don't resist and just sing along with them. In cases where people don't necessarily have higher status but just want to assert themselves people sometimes don't resist and pretend to willingly join them in the song. When people do this it is because they don't want to be embarrassed for not being able to resist, or just to avoid conflict. When people do try to resist it becomes a bit of a fight for 'dominance'. In Tèràl cultures this is a more toxic side of society that is seen as a good thing. Showing dominance that way is encouraged even. It should be noticed that this is not a gender specific thing, the Tèràl don't care that much about gender. People of any gender 'battle' like that if they want to establish dominance and this toxic ideal affects everyone.
Now this post is getting looooong so I'll spare you a little and split it up in two parts again. Needless to say I have a lot to tell about music. Kinda like it's a big thing in my world huh? Well I hope it's as interesting to you as it is to me! Thanks for reading and I'll be back with the rest soon!
Havéja!

For the October Write-blr ask game!! :DD (also I'm pretty sure yee may be working on some writings for Fandoms I'm not in, but I do not mind those being the ones you talk about!! (I'd actually really enjoy it fgdv I love learning about other characters like that :DD) /gen /pos /nf)
☕ coffee or tea: describe your OC’s favorite place to relax.
👻 ghost: can you tease some wip ideas that have been haunting you/something you want to write in the future?
🥧 pie: let’s talk about food in your wip. are there any special recipes or traditional meals? do any of your OCs cook or bake?
okay yeah so I'm going to apply this to the multichapter fic I'm writing rn bc I have to keep the ball rolling I have to keep the ball rolling aha
you're correct, it's a project sekai fic which like pardon me but I will absolutely explain this to you it's living in my brain 24/7 project sekai is a rhythm featuring hatsune miku and few other vocaloids (MEIKO, KAITO, kagamine len and rin, luka and I think that's it) but basically there are four musical groups in the game not counting the virtual singers and they're
vivid bad squad- I started out with them 10/10 good stuff they're like high school kids who also preform on the street and like at gigs and stuff and they all want to throw a musical event to outdo this really big one that one of the member's father threw
leo/need- they're very wholesome. middle school friends who stopped being friends bc of unfortunate circumstance and the nthey come back together in high school to form a band together and have emotional baggage. very sweet. love them <333
more more jump- going to be honest don't know a lot about them, they're an idol group and I know their leader, minori, like didn't start out an idol and is trying really hard to be good at it and I know haruka like was an idol but was unhappy w it or something, idk much about shizuki or airi though
wonderland x showtimes- okay so I don't know much about them from the actual game but they're VERY popular in the fanbase bc the fandom really saw the four male character in the game not counting len and KAITO and completely latched onto them and ignored most of the other groups w/out men in them (other group w boys is vbs, which is also v popular in the fandom) anyway, they're like a musical theatre troupe and they do shows and stuff, pretty cool. nene and emu are the girls in the group and they're both slightly unhinged. absolute queens.
OKAY OKAY OKAY NOW MY FAVOURITE nightcord at 25:00 okay so basically they're an online music group who voice chat over what's discord in everything but name to make music aaaand they're all depressed. :D but basically there's kanade and she's like an extreme shut in, and then there's mafuyu whose mom is like so controlling she destroyed any semblance of a personality in her daughter 👍 A+ parenting. and the main group story is them helping her figure out like The Emotions and develop a personality again. ena is my profile picture and she's the group's artist and basically she's a little bit attention seeking and frustrated bc her art is good but it never came as like natural talent for her and she never gets a lot of recognition for it and also her dad is a shitbag who said she should give up bc it's too hard for her. and the MIZUKI AAAAAH I love them I love them I love them so they're the group's animator they do like cool videos and stuff with the songs and she's literally the best person ever and she has like serious abandonment issues bc they're always made fun of for dressing and acting weird and they lost all their friends because of it and they're worried they'll lose 25ji bc of it too AND I'M PRETTY SURE THE REASON WHY THEY'RE MADE FUN OF FOR DRESSING/ACTING WEIRD IS BECAUSE SHE'S TRANS which like aaaaaah! AAAAAAH! no canon confirmation just hinted at, but common fandom belief is nonbinary or transfemme just bc of how she presents herself. I, ever the intellectual, think she's nonbinary and transfemme.
short interlude aside, I'm writing a mizuki-centric multichapter fic rn so I'll probably just answer w headcanons and the like bc they're not my OCs :P
describe [Mizuki]’s favorite place to relax.
there's not a lot of canon to pull from but I would say either in the empty sekai, but more likely, it doesn't matter where, just around the members of 25ji <3 really taking canon and running w it here but I think it's true!! they love their friends!!
can you tease some wip ideas that have been haunting you/something you want to write in the future?
okay so actually I did have an idea come to me about an ena fic, I also really like ena so I do really want to do something ena focused and hanahaki fics are really popular in the sekai fandom from what I've read but I've not seen many where ena gets it, plus a few common things about hanahaki fics rub me the wrong bc I'm aro, and if you want it done right you gotta do it yourself. also I don't write romance a lot so writing it is always interesting.
let’s talk about food in your wip. are there any special recipes or traditional meals? do any of [the characters] cook or bake?
I think unintentionally I kind of made food the way a lot of the characters show affection for one another or try to express how they're feeling about one another, and kind of a way to show how close they are/how much they trust each other. no traditional dishes but a lot of meals made in the place of telling people you're sorry, or you're there for them, or you love them. gift giving, the love language of the emotionally constipated <3

idk if they're music is actually classified as techno but I totes recommend Team Grimoire for music :3c very high energy I love listening to them
I've listened to a few of their tracks and I like what I hear but I don't necessarily think it's techno. That's not to say my word is law or anything.
I think when it comes to music genres are actually really dumb these days because you have so many layers of genre now. Like I have literally seen Acid Jazz called Down-Tempo and then the same song was called Weirdcore and that same song was called Exotic Lounge and like, technically those are all different genres but here we are.
A big reason I have such a deep love of old Techno Trance music is because it's what I grew up with, or more specifically what was played at the underground warehouse raves I would DJ at. I feel like I've spoke on that a lot already but I guess to help classify what I'm talking about examples are the best option.
When I talk about old school techno trance music a lot of what I'm talking about falls into sounding like this:
youtube
You also have well known artists like Basshunter or Gigi D'Agonstino:
youtube
and even some artists who are still making music to this day have absolute classics out there like DJ Satomi:
youtube
If the name Gigi D'Agostino rings a bell however it's likely for his song The Riddle which has literally over 100 Million views on Youtube (at least the original upload which wasn't by the original artist sadly, does.)
youtube
A lot of this music was played at the raves I went to, and those raves introduced me to artist like Scooter and such, believe it or not that was actually where I became familiar with the bulk of Eiffel 65's music other than just you know, Blue.
At the end of the day music genres are more or less up to interpretation which is an issue I run into a lot while discussing music. Something I've gone on record saying is that music is great but genres have become completely irrelevant. Which is something I stand by 100% that's not to say genres can't be applied to music nor that they don't help to explain music. But I think even within a genre there's so much overlap and so much variance that it's almost pointless now. Like I'd classify what I've heard of Team Grimoire as speedcore, but I don't know if I'd lump them in with artists like USAO, RoughSketch, or P*Light. Somewhat yes, somewhat no. Like it's almost closer to something like S3RL's more recent works which is technically classified as Happy Hardcore/Hardstyle but seems to greatly be leaning into Gabber and Hard Bass.
You have songs that absolutely fall more into Speedcore than Hardcore but then you have others that would be Melodic Hardcore. Like Rrhar'il which feels more Melodic than things like Grievous Lady, and while Sheriruth is absolutely upbeat, I think calling it Speedcore is kind of a gross over-exaggeration.
I've yet to find anyone who sounds similar to what I've always heard called Techno Trance and is now referred to as Old School Techno.
I think Genres are dumb though if I'm being entirely honest, with the creation of the internet we had the death of the genre. Things like Nightcore for example, used to actually be proper genres. Believe it or not when Nightcore originated it was (if I'm remembering correctly) the name of an artist who made pop songs into Night Club style dance tracks, hence the name. It later evolved into a style of remixing where artists would take popular songs and make them EDM tempo, however I cannot make it important enough to emphasize the word "remix" here, these songs weren't just pitch shifted or tempo bumped. They were properly remixed including entirely new melodies, new segments to the songs; sometimes even new lyrics and bridges. When it became popular with the up and coming young Otaku community however, we saw a rise in popularity where people would take a song, tempo/pitch shift it; and upload it. Obviously this could be done significantly faster than artists actually taking the time to add various samples, melodies, lyrics, and other mixes into their songs. So the genre of Nightcore became overwhelmed by these cheap two second fad songs. That became the norm, and people made it popular because a lot of the people who listened to it genuinely, and this isn't a put down; didn't have the capacity to hear it and think critically about what they were listening to. They just heard a fast paced song they liked and went "oh cool anime picture dude" and ta-da the genre was killed. Then this happened with Vaporwave, losing any identity it had and becoming "just slow the song down" and then it happened with Future Funk losing everything that made it a unique and interesting spin on retro funk and disco music; instead becoming "take any weeb song, speed it up; and add a drum loop in fucking garage band!"
It has happened over and over again, we're seeing it happen now where every song that has a certain kind of sound to it is being labeled as Dreamcore or Weirdcore (which are used interchangeably so that's cool, we literally have two labels that can mean the same thing depending on who you ask.) Ironically I've seen "Vaporwave" songs called Weirdcore/Dreamcore because they follow the same formula now. This all goes to ignore a lot of the actual genres behind these songs, no one* knows what acid jazz, or exotic lounge actually is anymore.
*No one here meaning "the majority of people who run popular music channels on youtube and just name drop whatever popular genre they feel like
I've even been told that the music I call Techno was in fact just European Pop where they come from. It sort of became an issue of "if we let people call anything whatever they want, there comes a point where it doesn't mean anything at all." You of course have music snobs who argue what a song REALLY is back and forth to no end. You have people who say "it's an umbrella term" which doesn't change the fact that the umbrella covers entirely too many different things to actually help define the music.
At this point I'm just starting to give people examples of what I'm talking about, whether it be direct links to music or outright name dropping artists because I feel like the water of genres has become too muddied for everyone to see the same thing. Which isn't me saying "I'm right and everyone else is wrong and stupid" it's me saying "none of us know what a genre is anymore and that's a problem we ALL face, myself included."
Given the way I learned about genres through popular word of mouth and other people telling me "this is techno that's hardstyle, etc." I could be as wrong as anyone else. I've even heard people say "well the artist calls it this kind of music so it's this kind of music" and as someone who has made music and played in a band before, I cannot tell you how stupid an artist can be about their own music. If I play some Jazzy Lounge music and say it's Speedcore that doesn't make it Speedcore, it just makes me stupid.
Regardless, while I don't know if I would consider their music to be Techno, I will say that I have enjoyed what I've heard of Team Grimoire and I appreciate the recommendation! I always love discovering new music to listen to :D

4. what’s an inside joke you have with your family or friends?
a little joke me and one of my besties do is every time there is text on an establishing shot that tells us where the scene is taking place, we say "ohhhh, That's where that is!" and i don't know why we have continued doing this for the better part of a decade, but we do it basically every time this happens. this is not something that is funny, but it is funny that we have continued to do this.
5. what made you start your blog?
it was so long ago.... my bestie had a tumblr and a few fanfic writers that i really liked had tumblrs, and i don't know, i just figured what the hell. and now here we are!
6. what’s the best and worst part of being online/a creator?
specifically about being an online creator, probably the best is that it's a low stakes way to be creative and have people read my work! getting published (or even self-publishing) is such a hassle. i want to write and edit my work, and then just drop it for people to read right away! And because there's that immediacy of publishing, I don't have to feel an intense level of anxiety over a work being "perfect." i'm tempted to say that the worst part is knowing that other people are better liked and more popular than me, but that would still be an issue for me even if I was in traditional publishing. but the online aspect of this (seeing other people get lots of engagement on their accounts, seeing fics with hundreds of comments and bookmarks, seeing particular fics getting discussed as having fandom-wide importance) are really obvious, and it does feel embarrassing to be so jealous of works/creators that are, in the larger scheme of culture, about as unknown as my own work
11. what do you consider to be romance?
At this point in my life, I really do want to be obsessed with someone who is obsessed with me. I am pretty okay spending time on my own, I entertain myself really well, but it means a lot to me when somebody wants to, like, hear about the stuff I did while I was alone. Like "yes, tell me about the movie you watched," or "what color did you paint your nails?" or whatever. I'm not a very interesting person, so I'd like to feel interesting to someone! I also like it when someone wants to touch me! It's good we live in a world where people ask before they touch each other, I guess, but I'm bad at inviting physical contact, so when someone just goes for it (and I like it), that feels really special! Also also I think it's romantic when someone I like makes choices for me, sorry!
12. what’s some good advice you want to share?
idk stream Fear of Death? i don't think i'm the person to go to for advice
13. what are you doing right now?
listening to this week's Throwback Thursday playlist on spotify and answering my online correspondence ❤️
17. name 3 things that make you happy
listening to music while i play on my computer, grilled cheese and tomato soup, and my fwends
18. do you believe in ghosts and/or aliens?
like, sure. i mean, i don't know, it's not something that keeps me up. i think i personally veer sort of skeptical about ghosts/aliens in my own life, but i have zero interest in ever telling somebody that their encounters aren't real just because i've never experienced something like that. like i'm fully aware that i'm a spiritual nutjob (semi-ironically, but not ironically enough), so i'm very 👍 to whatever people vibe with
19. favourite thing about the day?
getting to watch people go around with their dogs and kids! also brunch!! and when you do things during the day, it means you can relax at night time! and when the weather is nice, i do like actually being outside during the day and getting some sun (the heat has just been so bad lately, I can't remember what that was like haha)
24. what’s one thing you’re proud of yourself for?
A coworker of mine is writing a script, and he said my notes on the script were both really helpful and also made him laugh a lot, and that made me feel really good!

Hmm unlike the kaiju anime which made me change my initial opinion (lol), I still feel mostly the same towards the jellyfish anime but not as harsh because I guess I can see how others would like it? Sure, there's character development and there's deeper internal and interpersonal issues being brought up, but it's still always in a way that I find superficial. I can see how others wouldn't think that way though. I just don't like "cutesy", even their rage or tears are animated "cute" so it loses a lot of intensity. The issues of the different characters also come across quite artificial so they don't feel real which is a problem if you wanna write plots which makes us sympathize or relate to them. Its not that their issues aren't real, it's the way its shown idk, I just don't feel much when watching this except some emotional outburst scenes (to VAs' credit). The music honestly is really meh too and aren't impactful which is terrible for a music anime. But unlike how I feel towards the character designs, the anime itself really is pretty though lol, especially the backgrounds. If the focus isn't on the lackluster characters and dynamics but just on it being a high budget pretty anime, I might like it more. But it's just the characters man... When I'm looking for gifsets, there's very little that focus on how pretty the anime is too but more on the meh characters which is something I don't get but okay, I should know by now some people just love mediocrity. And why do all the popular female relationship focused/yuri animes have the same cutesy, childish design? It's annoying! These characters are 17 but they look 13 because of the style. Like I tried lycoris recoil and tensei oujo anime but I couldn't continue because it's just so cutesy!!! Is it cause it's for males??

to complain abt something else (mostly), weird time immediately bailing on this podcast discussion b/w two people who'd seen west end bmc and who'd also prior discussed further history / context including the egregious layers of snubbing / disrespect from the tonys, and both noting how the perspective that if something's for a younger audience it's inherently inferior is unfair & inaccurate & detrimental, further pointing out the "and then next tonys refused to nominate tlt at all, despite being the one show w/an original soundtrack for one, And a speech abt bringing younger audiences to the Theatre" and all of the stance like yes think this musical didn't get its critical due from institutions b/c of such bullshit lenses like well not arguing there, sounds good to me, time to discuss the show huh
anyways they don't get halfway through "more than survive" before i bail b/c i'm already a bit wary but then when they mention jeremy encountering his dad who they note is clearly depressed, it becomes a matter of their asserting jeremy can't see that anyone else has problems like him, and they eventually go on to say & agree with each other that in fact a premise here is that jeremy doesn't have "real problems" and i'm like well that's enough for me lmfao i don't need basically the nyt brantley take except from a "but i like the show" angle thanks lol
and i'd Just talked about (while discussing deh, specifically stemming from my having also just given up on the same podcasts' discussion of it, i'm pretty sure lol) how it's always Something that like, even if you think that the only thing jeremy wants here is to Get Laid (vs that he likes one girl in particular & would like her to like him back) & Get Popular (vs that he has only one friend & is bullied) i hardly agree that it's just the stuff of frivolous teen angst vs. that once you've paid one bill ever you now can have Serious Problems. like yeah no shit people's perspectives change & maybe like ohh as always asserted Prom doesn't matter to someone a few years later as much as it seemed to at the time, but a) when in life is Anything guaranteed to seem as important After The Fact and why does the hypothetical perspective of their future self mean their feelings/perspective truly don't matter now and b) shit like Sex and Popularity and the bullying social approach people bring all the time that's perfectly in line w/high school shit Does get to be regarded as now serious and deep if it's adults worrying about all of it, like, oh yeah this keen analysis of power dynamics and the social forces that influence and entangle our existences like. yeah an adult perspective is hopefully gonna be more complicated / have more experiences & insights to draw on than a teen's, what with as pointed out that teenagers are just encountering a lot of shit for the first time and don't really know what to do / how to do it, vs adults having more tools to deal with the same things, doesn't mean they're necessarily dealing with Fundamentally Completely Different Experiences
so that's to say how like. yes you can note Sync Up / Pitiful Children and how we get this point of how jeremy doesn't realize that even the peers who seem to have it made are struggling / unhappy, and i'm sure it's relevant that yeah theoretically a high schooler may be (reasonably) caught up dealing with their own shit and not have formed these relationships / ft. this communication that lets them fully realize how they can relate to other people and vice versa, i.e. realize they're not so isolated with this, vs expressing it like "ah smh so a teen thinks they're the only one with problems huh" like idk maybe there's some of that but like back off lmfao. How would people know, obviously. But Anyways to actually bring it around: that if you look at the most pertinent material with jeremy and his dad specifically, it's the pants song, a scene wherein actually it's made clear that the issue isn't that jeremy thinks his dad's just being Difficult On Purpose and he hasn't realized his dad could have problems and be sad too, it's that the problem is he Has been relating to his dad and seeing that as a potential future version of him (as like. directly stated, though idk about west end changes, i presume it's still in the two player game scene) and resenting that he's very aware his dad is still like this sad lonely person and he could still be that Indefinitely too. it's extremely relevant that jeremy does in fact realize his dad is struggling & miserable Too lol but nah classic teen, jeremy thinks his dad has no feelings XD
(also that of course one way or another i think it makes sense that jeremy could be frustrated that he's just getting less Parenting from a depressed single parent and he doesn't need to like, justify these feelings further by being sympathetic enough, like well jeremy you can only be impatient with your dad Not driving you to school like he said he would if you tried giving him a pep talk that assured him you Know what he's going through like....sure yeah it's also relevant to that broader matter of like, recognizing more of yourself in other people / understanding others more or whatever, to also realize like ah even my parents are People who are fallible / imperfect / struggling but you know. he doesn't need to interact with his dad as a peer even if yes ideally his dad could get some support too & it'd go smoother if jeremy had more Outright expressed sympathy like, well, he doesn't really, and we don't quite see jeremy's dad Getting It re jeremy either and offering the exact moral support he needs, and think most people agree that a child need not offer their parent equal emotional support, especially when not even yet an adult themself)
and that furthermore it's like. boil it down and this is his dad dealing with Girl Problems & Feeling Bad / Loneliness too lmfao like again just that the same issues are recognized as Significant when it's an adult and frivolous when it's teens like yeah sure of course jeremy not being on the radar of this girl he likes isn't the same as getting divorced & being a single parent but yknow, it's still ~Relationships~ at its core, dismissed as Not A Real Problem for jeremy and presumably immediately understood as Significant for his dad, like, they're both depressed af then but no, if jeremy has a reaction of showing frustration about anything, he has too much energy And obviously can't sympathize & that all means He Cannot Be Depressed Too (obviously Not, and funny whenever it's you know, supposed to be this magical depression empathy when you pick out the character you think is Definitely depressed, and where if any other character were also dealing with the same thing, they'd immediately recognize the other person's depression and do everything they could in that moment to fix it (in a way that better be expressed as unfiltered earnest sympathy, or else) like ah right those damn teens who can't fathom of it or see when anyone else is sad. whilest i, wisely, as an adult, recognize jeremy has no Real Problems, since if his dad's depressed, that's real shit, if jeremy is, it isn't
and naturally yknow no mention before the "he has no real problems" that jeremy's dad being freshly divorced is jeremy's experience of having his mom recently out of his life wherein he's hardly heard from her but immediately makes this about how his dad should Also be able to move on (and/or have already Been that more winning person who his mom could still live this dream life with) and so jeremy's trying to do while also trying in other ways to not be his dad, i.e. avoid whatever mistakes he made to end up here in the first place, i.e. jeremy talking about all this while he's about to seriously double down to michael like look i think i might need this squip / i at least need to try to see if it's Really an option. not a real problem though X'D
also funny that you know, deh is different and not just comparing it as Thee Teen Problems Musicals as others might assert but for sure there's like, a similar enough vague premise for the Very start, (and also Hilarious how the [mental health] aspect of deh was like, basically an afterthought used to further emphasize / illustrate like "ah you see, these are the ways evan can see himself in connor" but got that focus for like ah yep that's a real problem, this is about mental health for sure, vs bmc that actually Is deliberately about it, but nah, it's a farcical romp abt getting a gf & wanting to be the coolest & stuff) but there was a point before giving up on the deh episode where one host specified that like no, evan is lonely & sad & has one friend, but he's Not bullied, vs that here of course you've got the Genre of Scifi and more of a comedic approach overall but jeremy is very much in fact, bullied, but again. No Real Problems, kids will be kids, nobody was ever negatively & lastingly affected by just a lil antics in high school or earlier (nbd being miserable since middle school began, like nigh half his life if you start at age four when often some schooling begins / doubt he Could feel inconsequential before that age. get a real problem buddy)
anyways just to wrap it up it's also like, you know, i'm gonna go ahead and say you can have Real Problems at any age, even if it's not like "oh first of all if it's not what i think of as having enough Financial Insecurity? it can't be a real problem" (although of course that in itself is a real problem) or you know, cue anything else, what is recognized from the outside by any randos as abuse (high school bullying wouldn't be tho, don't worry about it) (and people are just so good at conceiving of how abuse would or wouldn't manifest & then deciding when it's Really Bad enough too, and never operating on the premise that the other person Can't deserve it actually) what is like a serious adult who can be like "oh i recognize this teen is clinically depressed, so that means you can take their angst seriously actually" much less also whether or not even someone being suicidal must a) be textually stated vs a possible inference someone can make or b) only be taken seriously if an adult goes "ah yep that's serious" or they die or whatnot. which reminds me that also the hosts did point out the stakes Aren't Life Or Death like yes that too is all that matters, it's only real & serious & an issue if someone is definitely gonna die in the course of the plot & we Know this beforehand
anyways tl;dr just funny to talk about Not being dismissive abt material about and enjoyed by teens & then interpret bmc Thusly like well then. same podcast where i gave up on the deh analysis that went "jared being gay in the movie is the weirdest choice b/c that IS the homophobic character" like okay i'm just walking out, i could leave

Random Baffy thoughts
Hi motherfuckers,
I have no idea what's gotten over me today but I cannot, for the life of me, stop thinking about Baffy. So much so that I made this blog on a valuable Friday that I should be using for productivity. Holy shit.
Keep reading if you wanna hear my spiels.
Tumblr media
First, some easy-to-digest headcanons:
Bugs is 26, Daffy is 28
Bugs is bisexual biromantic, Daffy is demisexual biromantic
Bugs is Egogender, Daffy is Nonbinary and will describe his gender as "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Bugs Black, Daffy Black-Desi, specifically Bangladeshi
Daffy knows some broken-ass Bengali
Fools by Troye Sivan is a song that Bugs will sometime listen to and contemplate his romantic choices. LMAO but he will never tell Daffy that-
Bugs listens to a lot of Hip-Hop and old-school Rock. Daffy likes classic music because he thinks it makes him smarter. And older Desi music, like old movie ballads
Bugs has OCD. He's experienced depression before but it doesn't really flare up anymore
Daffy has OCD too. Don't @ me, all my faves get OCD okay? Along with that he has generalized anxiety disorder
Bugs likes reading about History & Physics
I like to think they have a sun/moon thing going on with Bugs being the sun and Daffy being the moon. All my ships have this dynamic, I know.
IDK there's more I can't remember right now...
Bugs' Flags:

Daffy's Flags:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, my basic idea for them...
If you notice in TLTS, Bugs doesn't HAVE to let Daffy stay with him, but he does. Though Daffy is basically a freeloader, Bugs never complains. To me, I definitely see this as Bugs being interested in Daffy in a more intimate way than one might think. Bugs has the ability to be roommates/housemates with other people who may have a job or whatever but Bugs doesn't particularly care. Moreover, Bugs is shown to be annoyed of others easily while being very patient with Daffy. You see what I'm talking about?
Meanwhile on the other side, yeah I know TLTS is comedy and everything - but - if we suspend the comedy for a second, I would like to imagine that Daffy actually has issues. Now, this has been supported by official/canon media before. Particularly in Back in Action. Daffy is shown in that show acknowledging that he feels people like Bugs a lot, but don't like him.
So, if we suspend the comedy for just a second, and talk about Daffy's issue, for some goddamn reason I LOVE and absolutely LOVE the idea that Daffy has difficulty understanding why Bugs loves him. And he questions it a lot. And gets upset over it. And Bugs can't really explain it, either, other than just saying "I like you for who you are. You may be a pain in the ass sometimes but that doesn't change the fact that I enjoy your company, I enjoy you."
I also like to imagine that their relationship is nowhere near perfect, sort of similarly to TLTS's approach to Bugs & Lola, where they are somewhat aware of the fact that they're a couple but continue to have miscommunications & difficulty. Except with Bugs & Daffy it's a lot louder, with a lot more accusations, but they make up in the end, because they have a mutual understanding that isn't obvious at first sight, but the more you see them interact, the more you realize they understand each other a lot better than it seems on the outside.
And then comes the lovey-dovey stuff.
Oh the lovey-dovey stuff.
I'll be putting them under a read more, it gets intimate.
Tumblr media
So, Bugs is clever. He doesn't really exercise his flirting skills with Lola in TLTS, partially because Lola is more interested in him than he is in her. But in the classic Looney Tunes you can see how good he is with flirting with people of all genders and how easily he catches people off-guard with witty flirting. So, I'd like to imagine that doesn't change with TLTS Bugs, either. He just uses this type of flirting on very specific people. And Daffy is definitely, definitely one of them.
Daffy has a big but fragile ego. It's easy to trip him up with the right words & actions. And as I said, Bugs is smart, he knows Daffy very well. He knows exactly what to say to get to Daffy, and he loves using this as an advantage, especially when there's a fight between them.
There is a LOT of Bugs just using Daffy's words right back at him in a flirty way. Lots of shutting Daffy up with a kiss, lots of intimidating leans from Bugs, and a lot of flustered Daffy who doesn't actually know what to do with real affection and love because he barely knows what that is.
Daffy stuttering, having difficulty making eye-contact, being unable to believe what's happening, blushing, and just falling deeper in love every time Bugs flirts with him. And don't get me wrong, Daffy LOVES it, but he doesn't know how to react or just...how to compute. He short-circuits.
And Bugs enjoys that a lot. He loves seeing Daffy all flustered, confused, seeing his ego disappear and only his vulnerable and emotional self being visible, seeing Daffy being unable to stand on his feet flippers because of how nervous he is, refusing to look Bugs in the eyes until Bugs connects their foreheads...it gets Bugs just as flustered as Daffy is. He's just a lot better at controlling his emotions and not wearing his heart on his sleeves during intimate moments.

And of course, this dynamic continues onto bed, as well. Bugs loves showring Daffy with compliments as they fuck, only for Daffy to be completely flustered and unable to compose himself throughout the whole thing. Sometimes, if Daffy has the energy, he will grab Bugs, kiss him and tell him to shut the hell up. Which will usually lead to Bugs giggling and throwing a "fine, sure, we'll play it your way" and finally letting Daffy take the occasional lead.
Their physical intimacy will involve nibbling and hickeys from Bugs' side, tiny little bites hidden all over Daffy's body under his fur. And Bugs thinks Daffy gives the best head. Daffy's beak is sensitive and squishy, and easy to tickle.

Some random intimate stuff:
Daffy really likes PDA but has difficulty expressing that he'd like to do things like holding hands in public. Luckily, Bugs understands and makes his moves bravely.
As they get older, Daffy humbles up and gets a lot better with his emotions and starts being a helpful househusband - cooking, cleaning, helping with chores and just making their home a nice environment. Bugs really appreciates this. Daffy understands later that he just doesn't like the corporate world, which is why he never liked working jobs.
The wedding is huge because Daffy wants it huge and Bugs actually exercises his popularity and riches for their wedding day. Daffy is genuinely so happy that Bugs feels greatly satisfied about his decisions by the end of the wedding. Also Bugs wears that one tux with a skirt wedding outfit. You know the one. Daffy can't decide between a tux and a wedding dress and flips a coin which lands on wedding dress, LMAO. It's his mom's old dress. Yes it is a Sari, if you thought it was a western wedding gown then the L is on you.
They play a lot of Troye Sivan, BTS, Pink Sweat$ & Kehlani on their wedding. Why? Because I said so, that's why.
...and that's about it!
Yeesh!
GO WATCH THE LOONEYTUNES SHOW. IT'S GAY, I PROMISE YOU.

you’ve came across an issue i see in a large amount of dsmp creators or related creators as a whole. they try to be counterculture and act better than dream’s audience because they are “cringe” every bad attitude they see on twitter they equate to being “cringe dteam fan”. so they want to remove themselves from association to this fanbase to seem more normal, to seem more cool and legitimate around other creators.
so they pretend to disavow dream stans while also benefitting from the association to dream. they are on his server, or in proximity to its viewer base, he talks with them on twitter, and dream never talks bad about people. they’re friends behind the scenes yet publicly they take the stance of being “better than all that”. making jokes at his/our expense while still getting to be on dream’s good side. you want the antis to like you because they are Not Cringe but you also want dream to like you.
this does not work though, overall, because they fail to realize that a lot of the “cringe” fan base is their own. they’re running from the thing that made them successful to get more popularity points within cc circles. the fans you are embarrassed of still think you are on their side, that you must be talking about other people, so they’ll continue to keep up with new content regardless. that’s my analysis<3 great business strat, isolating people and appealing to “edgy” adult men.
oh but V we all see how well that goes i mean look at pdp 110 million subs hmmm an avg of what 4? mil views on each video. Like I need them to look at that and see the audience they are pandering too is not big. Even if they're complete sell out scum they should be realizing Dream hits million sub milestones one month to month a half and it's because he's kind. And I know his endless kindness is the ultimate weakness and probably what upsets so many of these gamer men. Because people like him and then they seem almost annoyed they do.
Idk i'm not gonna speculate on if anyone is just using him for clout or anything because when they talk about him you can hear the respect. Edit: Like V or I are not accusing Tommy or members of the SMP of using Dream for clout more people on the fringes who farm twitter interactions under Dream’s tweets and then also make fun of him or his fans when they don’t know him well.
I just wish more people had the balls to be his friend in public. Like Train and Connor they've gone to bat for Dream when he wasn't there to do it himself. Connor called out his chat out for making fun of Dream's music. And when he found that Kayne remix of Mask he sent it to Dream and George because he thought they'd like it and they really did. Like that is an example of someone who I think legit does not like Dream’s or the Dream SMP’s fanbase but treats them with as much respect as they treat him and clearly is a good friend.
I only use Connor as an example cause he's a non Munchy MC guy so he met Dream recently and who also hangs out with edgy people and doesn't copy their humor because he's already hilarious and knows it.
I don't want to seem like I'm saying Dream needs better friends or anything like that but I think this is a legit phenomena you can see and I think there is a thing to be pointed out with say the british CCs taking the piss out of each other is their humor. but with Dream he's already put through so much shit it just comes across as them adding fuel to the fire or spitting on him and very rarely does their teasing land well.
yeah i just i don't know i don't want to go all shooters 4 dream against people he knows so I'll leave it there

OMG I SAW UR NAIGUS HEADCANONS AND THEY MADE MY SEROTONIN LEVELS GO OFF THE WALLS GRGRG DO U HAVE ANY HEADCANONS FOR KILIK RUNG?
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I GOT YOU FAM I GOT YOU
Thank you for the ask!! I'm glad my Naigus headcanons facts striaght from Okubo's email made you happy! :)
Kilik is honestly also a super cool character that needs more love I feel????? He just gives me such wholesome vibes idek so I'm really happy to be doing these since he's such a stand up dude tbh
Headcanons I have about Kilik Rung
Tumblr media
He's a really rational thinker and obv very very competent but his real strength is his resolve
He has a very strong personal moral code and will always stand by and do what he thinks is right. A lot of integrity from Kilik!!
He's a very dependable person and an all around good friend. He's pretty emotionally intelligent person who says what he means and gives good advice and is very loyal to the people he cares about the most
What some might think is being hot headed is just a result of his passion and drive. He isnt really reckless or arrogant or anything, he just gets overwhelmed with his determination and passion in the heat of the moment
He doesnt really like ambiguity much and is a problem solver
He really liked things like Karate Kid and DBZ growing up and a lot of the lessons and messages really stuck with him
Got really involved in like combat sports like martial arts and wrestling pretty young because of how much the idea of personal strength in those movies/shows really meant to him
Hes very focused in general in personal growth both with physical capabilities and with his interpersonal relationships
He's absolutely the type to lift up the other people around him so they can be their best selves
He was interested in going to the DWMA largely because it seemed like a good fit for his lifelong interests and skills and goals and HE WAS RIGHT
But tbh he was actually a little hesitant specifically because he didn't think he could find a weapon partner that matched his more close/direct preference from his sport experience and karate movie influence but in the end decided to go ahead and try
After all he could learn to use a weapon pretty quickly if he needed to and who would pass up the chance to be a meister? Esp when he has the passion for it already?? Not Kilik no way cause he knows what he wants and will get it
Enter Fire and Thunder who were worried about finding a meister who would think about using a hand to hand combat style cause they kinda require it
And because Kilik is in general just this down to earth and intelligent (esp socially) person matching wavelengths with both of them wasn't really an issue
He's pretty popular at DWMA and will talk to just about everyone he sees like he's known them forever
He became such good friends w Ox because he saw that Ox was just kind of this super serious guy and was like "hmmm he could probably benefit from lightening up some"
And as it turns out they actually had a lot in common esp when we're talking about self improvement even if they have different approaches to that
He actually really respects Ox as his peer and they do a lot to lift eachother up, in fact Ox is probably one of the people he respects the most
Plus both of them having thunder attacks helps them bond haha
Is generally just a stand up guy overall who puts effort into everything he does
Outside of combat/DWMA stuff he's really into music! He has a wide variety of stuff that he listens to and has made a ton of different playlists for friends and different occasions
Idk if I necessarily think he's aroace but when we see him in the series I get the feeling that he's def more focused on his friendships and personal goals than romance or anything which like good for him
Really likes filling foods with complex carbs like pasta and baked potatoes but isn't a picky eater like at all which I might just say bc im hungry and could really go for a baked potato or noodles rn but ssssshh
Has at least 1 teddy bear that he's has since he was a baby and will never get rid of and still has his baby blanket
Probably really loves his grandma. Idk anything about his grandma except that he loves her a lot
Very proud of what he's been able to do WHICH HE SHOULD BE YOU GO KILIK and is excited to be able to do more and see what he and his peers are capable of
