i love how nagito’s plan in chapter 5 is so well executed that the only reason why the others don’t vote it as a suicide is because hajime and akane have a gut feeling that it wasn’t one. nagito planned for every possible outcome depending on how much the group uncovered, so that unless the group realized he was targeting the traitor and the traitor then revealed themself, the group would vote for the wrong person, and thus get them all executed.
what’s even more ironic is that nagito thinks that he’s doing this to rid the world of the rest of the remnants of despair, thus making him the ultimate hope, when in fact by killing everyone else he makes it so that ai junko can take over their real world bodies and spread even more despair

I’m too tired to word this properly but I was thinking about wonderlust characters and their animal features and stuff and just like.
Troy is the most human and is the most well off and not at all prepared to be down in the underground city. He’s ignorant and a sore loser and doesn’t seem to care much at all. Above ground, they don’t even know there’s a whole city beneath them. They have no idea that people like this even exist and we see this perfectly represented through Troy. He’s confused, he thinks it’s a convention, he doesn’t want to learn more or change or anything. He just wants to leave and go home and never go back again.
Runt has some animal feature but is still pretty human, and the first time she’s introduced, we see her getting a bit of both. She’s an inventor, just like the people above ground. But she’s never been up there, she’s never seen the stars or the moon until now. And we’re reminded almost immediately that she is still from down below, she’s still ‘not fit’ for life above ground, and she’s still different. She might be able to go undercover up there but she still doesn’t know enough about anything above ground to not stick out. She’s still hopeful though, about going up there and learning new things because she’s young and she’s smart and she’s willing to learn and adapt.
blink is the most animalistic by far and seems very well adjusted to his life below ground. He has a job, he has a life, he can navigate. He knows what’s going on and how to get around down there. He’s a survivor. He makes do with what he has. And he has this sense of community down there. Even if he doesn’t get along with everyone, he knows a lot of people. And it’s very clear that blink would not do well above ground at all. There would be no way to hide the fact that he’s a giant fucking owl. His life isn’t amazing, but he’s experienced, and has no intention of leaving.

slut! is such an interesting exploration of the larger thesis of wildest dreams (this will end but it’s so good right now), specifically what will happen to her when it ends, what it will cost her, and ultimately taylor deciding that yes this moment is worth them slut shaming me for however long they will. that’s how lovesick she is. (it’s very Romantic but that’s another post.)
in general 1989 is an album obsessed with consequences. out of the woods repeatedly asks if it’ll end well. all you had to do was stay declares that there are consequences to her ex lover’s actions. i wish you would daydreams about what could’ve been if they’d made different choices. bad blood is about the consequences of betrayal. wildest dreams sees the end as it begins. how you get the girl is an instruction manual on how to get the outcome you want. clean describes a woman in the aftermath. wonderland discusses what she should’ve done differently to not end up here (essentially: everything she did.) new romantics takes the theme and plays around with it - maybe this is all gonna fuck me up, but isn’t the aesthetic worth it?! and then there’s the vault.
all of this is to say, 1989 is an album set in the past, with all the wisdom of what is to come. keeping that in mind makes slut! and its promise to pursue the thing that will hurt even more precious

Some Michael Afton headcanons and crack theories and whatnot
🚨 warning, If you know me irl (You know who you are, I see you) be aware that I’m not serious hahahahaha I would never be cringe hahaha 🚨
Okay, here we go:
Kid/Teenage hcs:
He’s super quiet after The Bite of ‘83. Like won’t talk to anyone or answer most questions outside of occasional one word answers. [I’ve talked about this before]
He was 13 during the Bite of ‘83.
Wasn’t really popular or a bully or anything before the Bite of ‘83. He was just like, a regular kid whose dad was well-known. It’s like if the mayor’s son was in your class or something. Yeah he’s kind of an asshole, but so is every middle school boy.
Ppl tend to avoid him after The Bite just because if you had the choice between talking to the guy who killed his brother or not doing that, you’d probably pick the latter. People felt bad for him or whatever but it’s not like they wanted to befriend him.
Cannot drive because he just never learned (William was NOT about to teach him). He walks most places.
I know this is semi-canon but he likes drawing stuff. He’s not very creative though, so he mostly draws what he sees around him. He ends of up drawing a lot of animatronics and TV show characters.
Mowed lawns and washed cars around the neighborhood for money when he was like 11-12. William was the type of dad who didn’t give pocket change and made his kids work for their own money. Michael wasn’t great at his neighborhood jobs though so people only hired him if they had money to give away and were willing to go through and fix the spots he missed.
The rest of these are Post-Scoop:
The FNaF 3 hallucinations are like a semi-regular issue for him. He occasionally just sees shit. Doesn’t have to be phantom animatronics, though. Can be more chill (by comparison lol) and like people he knew just standing there, weird shadows (especially in reflections) and sounds and voices. [I‘ve talked about this before too, sorry]
Really scared of the dark. Lights on in every room + flashlight on him at all times scared.
The power went out in his house a couple times when it snowed and (even though it didn’t get pitch black because of light from the windows) he did not like it.
He’s also the master of batteries, they’re scattered all over the house.
His power bill is so much. Like you’d drop dead if you saw it. TV and lights and air conditioning on 24/7 drive it up. His water bill is virtually nothing, though, so that’s good.
Doesn’t have issues with money because he has access to William’s bank account somehow.
Still lives in the house he grew up in. I just feel like he does.
Sort of has an issue with animals. They do not like him and will bark at and attack him whenever given the opportunity. He’s literally a dead body and animals tend to not like those. Birds will literally swoop down and attack him sometimes. He has fought two raccoons.
Absolutely a creature of the night. Only leaves the house past midnight and is back before sunrise. This is for a couple reasons, mostly just because there’s less happening at night. He carries a flashlight around when he goes out though bc he’s so scared.
Has like one guy who he’s on good terms with. It’s some random graveyard shift worker at the local corner store. He goes to the same store like every Tuesday or whatever and it’s always the same guy working there. They don’t even say that much to each other but they’re still buddies. When Michael works at the FNaF 1 location the employee is actually kinda sad because he doesn’t come in that week and he’s really confused as to where that guy could have gone or if he finally died or something. And then Michael comes in the next week and the routine continues and the employee will never know what happened that one week the weird guy didn’t come in.
Okay that’s it. <3

thinking about how Crowley is the only one to have truly lost the bookshop
in season 1 Aziraphale is gone and doesn’t learn till much later that it burned down but even then it gets restored pretty fast for him. Crowley on the other hand was there in the bookshop as it burned down, all those memories-everything. He went into Armageddon knowing it was gone-their one safe space destroyed
in season 2 Aziraphale gives it up when he accepts the position in heaven-leaving it to Muriel before going to talk to Crowley. Without talking to Crowley the decision is made for when he leaves. But Crowley doesn’t follow him to heaven and leaves in the Bentley. The bookshop is gone and once again it’s not his decision
(and that makes the comments about the bookshop being crowley’s favorite place hurt)

travlottienat make me fucking feral.
lottie, the prophet, and nat & travis, the hunters, are all similar in a way. they’ve all been forced into this protective role for the others. the hunters must provide food and a firearm, while the prophet must see what will happen and do her best to prevent it.
there’s nat, who doesn’t believe even a tiny bit of this wilderness bullshit. it’s life. life is hard, and cruel, and kicks you when you’re down. she knows this better than anyone, what, with what happened to her dad.
on another hand there’s lottie, who’s been told she had a gift, who finally is being seen as a blessing as opposed to a curse. maybe she can use it for good. maybe she can help. maybe she can keep being a blessing, a prophet, as opposed to a mentally ill embarrassment to her family.
then there’s trav, the middle ground. does it make sense? no. life is hard, and cruel, and kicks you when you’re down. but there’s hope. there’s always hope, shining in the darkest of places. maybe it’s foolish to cling to the hope, but it’s there, and she’s not letting it go without a fight.
the hunters and the prophet; eventually (presumably) the antler queen and her two most loyal subjects.
