Peri is a highly independent adult, he doesn’t like being coddled or touched without any warning and isnt the type to ask for help at all even if he really needs it. He’s an extremely closed off person using the suave act as a way to personally seperate himself to others which he developed due to his celebrity status, the suave personality also acts as a way to keep face as he never knows where could be camera. He pretends this cool collected guy, that can worm his way to getting anything (which is true) that has everything under control but in reality he’s this kinda dorky dude, that always anxious on how people perceive him and his grades. He’s an overachiever, after the initial first baby born hype died down he’s mostly known as the really smart youngest fairy in existence, he’s was an academic weapon throughout spellementary school and hs (im basing his education system off mine which is only two schools no middle 4-12 and 12-18) and came to uni with overconfidence in his educational abilities. Theres one thing thats consistent between his suave act and his actual self which is he’s petty as hell and very snarky, you can try talking him down but he’ll roast you back or give you a vaguely threatening threat. As well as being a bit prideful and vain, like he knows he’s pretty and smart and cares a lot about his appearance.

In this uni au he’ll be a bit of a static character he doesnt grow much, and struggles with demonstrating his affection or his struggles. (Which is why dev and peri dont exactly work much cause peri is overcompensating on how much coddling he got, and show affection in a more subtle way that dev doesn’t need as he need a more direct way (and heres a thought i dont think peri wouldve ever said he cared for dev unless delirious) ) . But he’s more openly affectionate with his parents cause he loves them. What he mainly goes through is humbling, he starts fairly prideful and overconfident but starts to slowly crumble from the pressure and anxiety. As in he doesnt say no to anything, hes somehow always busy or doing something, he also studies not enough and too much (crams shit in) and he also got his celebrity things to do. Another arc will be opening up to Goldie and Irep (but they'll be his only friends) cause he doesnt learn shit about how to socialise without depending on the act. He’s also easily frustrated, if things dont go in the way he wants he gets frustrated at himself, like he really put his self worth on his abilities to do things and less on who he is as a person. Like everyone praised him for his intelligence, charm, talent, magic and appearance, like he hates being coddled but he likes being praised, while irep doesnt get praised and seeks getting praised. But that doesnt change the fact he is a genuinely nice-ish person he just doesn’t like disappointing people, especially those close to him but he’s got a bit of an ego but not in a narcissistic way but in a young adult way where he doesnt exactly think for others first but for himself because he doesnt want to disappoint people. (Which is seen in battle of dimmsonian where hes more worried about being seen by his parents and his career choices then dev). Which is also why he’s a stickler to the rules, like he doesnt want people to think he’s bad person but also jorgen literally drilled it into him that breaking the rules is bad. Like he’s the type to do it right by the books, that comes from him being a bit of a people pleaser, and genuine concern of him messing up his perfect facade.

Speaking of Goldie, i would describe their relationship as fairly close. It takes a while for the either of them to open up to anything personal but they start off as friends of mutual benefits. They use eachother as study buddies, people to hang out with and to talk about their slightly weird interests. And the more they go through uni the more they will confide with each other. Like i imagine a tipping off point for their friendship is when peri finally breaks and gets like a panic attack, Goldie will be there to boost him up. Irep is also their friend but he’s in it more to best Peri or to piss him off. Irep is one of few to see through his act and knows how to break it.

Like genuinely i do think hazel and peri may be counterparts to each other like they both lost their sibling figure, both overthinks scenarios and both want to be appear more mature then they actually are. Like i want anw to be where he grows the most because he’s more challenged to question his behaviours and habits, especially with how these traits affect his and dev’s relationship for the worse.

Undercut is me mindlessly rambling about what’s going on in my brain about this. Don’t read unless you like torturing yourself with reading.

I guess to start, I have only played Elden Ring (crucible knight more like crucible kill yours-IM JOKING), I’ve watched some lore videos on Elden Ring Bloodborne and DS1, haven’t played DS1 yet, and have all the art books except DS2 (cause nobody likes DS2). I’ve played very limited DND games. I’ve read lots of weaponry wiki pages but I have bad memory. If any information I say below is incorrect (like I say this sword is two-handed but it’s not or I misspell spauldor… spalder? Spauldron?) please correct me. I’m just using information I know and I’m always open to suggestions and feedback!

Random Lore Bits: Sleep and the Whale lived in peace but Sleep was always the higher deity. It created all that lives on the land and the TMBTE creatures. Sleep had many worhsippers but Vessel and the rest stood out. They were appointed as the highest knights of sleep. Vessel always had Sleep’s favor and therefore became Sleep’s vessel. Confusing I’m aware lmao. Sleep and Whale became enemies somehow and Sleep injured the whale, causing it to die. This time period before the Whale’s death was called Eden. NPCs speak of Eden all the time about how, “Peace and day has never been restored since Eden” “Eden is over” “If the whale were here, Eden would still be here”. All followers of Sleep become corrupt.

Bosses: Once killed, all bosses turn into statues and have branches grow out of them. They aren’t dead, just dormant. You can fight them again but returning to their fight area and making an offering of a certain amount of tokens. Once defeated again they return to being dormant. If you defeat all resurrected bosses (fought each one twice) you get smth called a Talisman of Blood (important later).

Regular enemies: Idk skeletons???? Giant birds??? Snakes???? Giant insectoids Idk bro???

Location: Like Elden Ring lands between, it’s called Fields of Elation. The capital city is either Nazareth or Jericho. I’ll try to incorporate Calcutta somehow. Geography is a mix of frigid coast, deep dark forest, large cavernous cave strictures, old ruined castles with mysterious rusty machinery inside, sparatic temples to sleep (all whale temples were destroyed), and the remnants of towns. Large trade road that goes through the entirety of the land is called the Path of Reason??? Idk bro I’m spitballing.

Currency: Tokens. Killing enemies and bosses earns you large amounts of tokens and like how runes work, you can level up you and your armaments with them.

Waypoints: Sites of grace, bonfires, more like RITUALS (I am not funny). I think calling waypoints rituals makes sense.

Flasks HP/FP: Estus Flask, Flask of Crimson/Cruelean Tears…. How about Flssk of H I G H W A T E R. Nah I’m kidding. No idea! Suggestions are open! I’m reading lyrics and nothings jumping out.

Incantations/Spells: Can be equipped to magic armaments and weapons! Kinda like you can choose between spell sword or just being a wizard.

Player Character: Tarnished, undead, hunter…. No idea what to call them. Robes and garments Very inspired by TPWBYT. Thinking the whale was an ancient god defeated by Sleep. Player Character is gifted with a certain power of the whale and was resurrected to defeat Sleep. Game opens with epic cutscene and player charter emerges from a cavern (TLYW) and goes through it before finding themselves on the coast of a freezing raging sea and an inviting forest. There’s probably one class you play as cause I’m lazy and you just collect armor and new weapons on the journey. TLYW style robes with greaves, hood, and gauntlets. Basic longsword.

Vessel: I’ve read the feedback and I agree that staff needs to stay. Live laugh staff. I’ve seen a few Elden ring builds where it’s right armament is staff for casting the long range stuff and left armament is a short sword, miséricorde (mercy dagger), scimitar(?), or other various short weapons. I like the image of this because I imagine him having somewhat light armor so if you’re far away, he spell. If you’re close, he stab. Spells are gonna be red. Change my mind. I like the Elden Ring boss Maliketh’s magic attacks so I imagine something like that. I imagine his boss fight starts with epic cut scene with him kneeled in a big arching cathedral temple type place and he’s like, “you seek to defeat the vessel of Sleep, foolish warrior? I have not known defeat against those of the sea nor those of Sleep” or some crazy bs like that. Half health, hands of Sleep show up and swipe and grab and Player Character. Just giant spindly hands that appear and float around. Attempts to break away form Sleep control but fails so that why he evil >:}

II: Dual wielding… what? No idea. I want him to dual wild some sort of straight weapon cause like drumsticks but honestly… sickles are so badass… Med. to light armor so he can move around a lot. Some sort of helmet with feather Mohawk. Boss area is probably in a fort outside of the main city. Just you and this guy. Get ready for a stamina check.

III: I’m torn between frenzied flame/black flame style magic user or spell sword. If magic, light armor. If spell sword, med. armor. Boss fight in a large old temple, candlelit and torn tapestries everywhere. Better have some fire immunity talismans on you.

IV: Halbert. All the way. Heavy armor my guy. Idk not much to say. Thinking banished knight ornstein inspo?? Boss fight Outside the gates to Vessel/Sleep’s castle. Vigor check time!!!

Chokehold: large dark cavern with webs strung about. It appears from above like, “A traitor to Sleep, hm? Pity. You seemed like you would be a good asset to the Vessel’s artillery.” Big axe time. High HP high strength boss. Vulnerable spot is probably its stomach area. Gives you armor, weapon, talisman, and incantation “Branches in a Flood” (roots sprout from the ground and entangle enemy).

The Summoning: Player probably stumbles upon the fight after meeting Aqua Regia and Granite. Mean killing machine. Idk what else to say erm… maybe player interacts with a sleep token symbol on a pillar with runes and it summons (pun intended) the summoning creature??? Stonehenge lookin boss area. Armor, weapons, talisman, and incantations are dropped.

Granite: Relatively peaceful NPC. Dialogue options are cool and it probably raises stats and alters your armaments. Quest line ends with Granite maybe just becoming dormant or it becomes a member of sleep again and sad boss fight initiates. Drops its armor, axes, root/weed talisman that increases stamina and immunity.

Aqua Regia: Chill and never ends in boss fight. Probably lets you summon them during other boss fights. Spear and sword. Gifts you new armor and talismans. Quest line maybe ends with them becoming too weak to keep battling and becomes dormsnt. You get their armor, spear, sword, rose talisman that raises FP, and a spell/incantation that shoots gold acid rays called Gold Rush or smth similar (Like Aqua Regia? Get it?)

Vore: Awesome boss. Inflicts poison damage for sure. I think we can all imagine how fighting Vore would be. In a poison lake haha it wants you to suffer. Armor, weapons, talisman, and incantations are dropped.

Ascensionism: Swords swords swords. Pulls a Starscourge Radahn and turns a meteor and player has to dodge lmao (cause yk ascending). Boss area is probably in a giant colosseum that’s old and crumbling. Armor, weapons, talisman, and incantations are dropped.

Are You Really Okay?: Player character pulls a stupid and decides to touch and inspect the strange incubator with a fetus inside and AYRO appears and is like “DONT TOUCH MY CHILD” initiate boss fight. Small castle is the boss fight area. Armor, weapons, talisman, and incantations are dropped.

The Apparition: Big guy, big hammer. Boss fight is somewhere in a forest clearing. No other ideas for it. Drops weapons, armor, talisman, incantations like everyone else.

DYWTYLM: Chokehold but with tiny dagger and looks like a giant engine. Probably shoots fire from the pipes on its body? Chokehold is PISSED if you defeat this guy first. Brothers fr fr. Boss fight in an old building filled with machinery. Speed is low but HP is super high. Drops armor, weapons, incantations, and talisman.

Rain: Your magic immunity better be HIGH. Renala style fight: Crazy hits, bad defense. Probably drops some crazy cool incantations, armor (really bad armor), and a talisman of fire immunity and raises your FP. Boss fight area is in a shiny crystaly forest area surrounded by weeping willow/wisteria like trees.

Take Me Back To Eden: The last boss before Vessel. Killer fight. Armor is also fire??? Difficult but probably super dope. Boss fight is in a SUPER large hallway in the castle of Sleep. Drops weapons, armor, talisman of resistance against airborne attacks.

Euclid: NPC that’s probably cranky and hesitant to befriend you at first. Still a follower of Sleep but respects the players fate to defeat the sleepmiester (I’m so tired bro—). Might fight you idk.Once dormant, drops and old mask of Vessel, a few incantations, and armor.

Endings: Endings one: You defeat vessel, sleep becomes dormant and no gods rule over the land. Retires and vessels are resurrected. Endings 2: You defeat vessel and become the new Vessel of Sleep. No difference from first ending, you just chose if ya wanna be evil or not. Endings 3: If you acquire the Talisman of Blood, Sleep sees you worthy to fight them without using a vessel. Radagon Elden Beast situation. When you defeat sleep, the whale is resurrected.

Hunter x Hunter: Kurta Shalnark theory

i refuse to believe otherwise. im just that stubborn.

but i have proof and im going to spread my bullshit

first of all i think it'd be fucking sexy to see him with red eyes. just like. mmmmmm yknow? do i actually think he has the red eyes. NO i do not. HOWEVER. it is a hypothetical i rotate in my brain very fast. like imagine if he was the 37th scarlet eyed kurta. that'd be fucking sick.

my maximum copium for an actual "associated with canon canon" theory is that even impure blood kurta have slight changes in their eyes that aren't full scarlet but (depending on how strong their bloodline is) get pretty close. so like a half blood would get red rings around their pupils, a quarter blood would get red freckles on the edges of their iris. etc etc.

With that out of the way: i think shalnark is a quarter kurta. his mother was a halfblood and his father was an outsider from meteor city or somewhere between the two- point is, not kurta at all. that's where he gets abnormally green eyes. the clan has a collection of different eye colors but the more common is gray so he was already set apart from other children.

he was born outside of the clan and brought back in when his mother remarried to another kurta and kept shalnark's true parentage a secret. he was raised in lukso for two years and when he turned six his mother was found out for having an affair outside of the clan and was forced to make a choice as punishment: either she or shalnark will be banished and she has to choose.

and she chooses shalnark. he's taken in the middle of the night and dumped in meteor city and all evidence of his existence is struck from the record. not that his birth was recorded anywhere in the first place but you get the point.

so shalnark is dumped in meteor city and the rest follows what we see in canon. he survives on his own for a while but is swept up in chrollo's little squad and makes his own family. he's left with the troupe for 15 (if my math is correct) years (assuming he's a year or two older than chrollo).

but here comes my theory about the actual massacre. the note that was left was from meteor city, signifying that the troupe were asked by the city to take care of a large threat. and we know that the city has its own means for taking care of normal injustices. Sun and Moon is the perfect device for sending a message and we know of at least two instances where it was used effectively.

so, somehow, meteor city deemed the kurta clan dangerous enough to call in the big guns, something they do if only sun and moon can't handle the situation.

so hypothetical. shalnark being a kurta and the clan knowing that it has abandoned kurtan blood in the past goes out searching for those children. why? something something the bloodline is running too thin and they want to strengthen it by any means necessary.

even if that involves taking the children they abandoned back by force.

and of course one of the first places they check is meteor city and by then shalnark is almost an adult but he is among the- im going to lowball based on the previous bum incident example- 5 children that were taken. assuming that meteor city has a 30-1 revenge policy. that covers a little over 128 which happened to be the population of the entire kurta clan.

and thats at least one of the inciting incidents. idk exactly what happens to shalnark during this time but its a thing that- in the terms of this theory- happened.

ON TOP OF ALL THAT

if this theory is to believed, i think the only reason shalnark didn't have a particular fascination with Kurapika in yorknew is because he didn't believe kurapika was a kurta until the very end.

the wording of each adaptation is slightly different but if shalnark is hearing the words scarlet eyes and his own death is already predicted, then he thought they could be referring to him. his hands are already stained with uvo's blood, in a parallel sense.

but he has to accept that truth and realizes kurapika's conviction is actually incredibly strong right around the time chrollo got yoinked. and by then the truth doesn't matter, they have to negotiate on kurapika's terms.

he doesn't feel the need to sympathize with kurapika because he has no connection with the kurta except for a very thin bloodline. but he does recognize the vendetta since all meteorites share the same. and if the situation called for it, he would have offered his secret as a piece for them to play.

totally haven't gone down that rabbit hole very deep down nope not at all.

anyway that's my kurta shalnark theory timeline. with dubious math that i need to revisit.

Im not sure if this was ever brought up but in the saffron au what happens to Elizabeth? I sorta assumed she was still grabby grabbed by baby but does mike ever go to the sister location? Does she join ennard? Enter other questions related to this here?

Idk just one of those thoughts that may be brilliant may be my dumbassery, but please infodump anything and everything!!!!!/pos!!

In pretty much all of my aus, Liz dies before Evan, so yes, Liz still gets grabbed by Circus Baby sometime before the Bite!

Liz wanted both a symbol of her (emotionally distant) father's love, and she wanted some companionship after her friend Charlie Emily died; both of these things were contributors in Liz's insistence on seeing Circus Baby.

William tells everyone that Liz went missing. Mike and Evan don't find out the truth for a long time, though Evan finds out before Mike does.

William kept Evan in the dark for the most part about remnant and souls possessing animatronics; if he was ever going to reveal the full truth about that stuff, he got captured long before he saw fit to do it.

Evan does eventually find out that Elizabeth was killed by one of William's remnant-collecting machines sometime after Mike runs away. He finds out not because William told him, but by accident, somehow. Evan doesn't take it well, neither the revelation behind his sister's death nor the fact that Will lied about it for so long. But Will ultimately punishes and manipulates Evan so thoroughly for his ill reaction that Evan represses the memory of what happened to Liz entirely. Or, maybe Evan doesn't find out by accident, but William told him as a test to see if Ev could handle knowing about animatronic possession, and Evan clearly failed the test?

When he's in prison on death row, William does give Mike the "go put your sister back together" message. I think he probably does it because he knows the Funtimes want to kill him, and he knows Mike looks like him; William knows he's not making it out alive, and the last thing he can do is put Mike in a sink-or-swim situation where his precious little look-alike that he's so obsessed with will find out the truth behind all his remnant experiments, and will either become like William and carry on his legacy or die trying.

Not knowing anything about remnant or possession, Mike has no idea what Will means by "putting Liz back together". He's probably terrified that it has something to do with Liz's corpse, given what William did to all those kids. He knows whatever this message is leading him to can only be something bad, but he wants answers about his sister's disappearance. He needs to know what happened to her and why... especially if his suspicion that Will had something to do with her death is true.

So, Mike leaves Ev with Jeremy and goes to the SL bunker on his own.

Buuuuuut, Ev and Jeremy being Ev and Jeremy, they end up following him. Maybe Mike was acting fishy enough in the days before he left to put Ev and Jem's guards up. Maybe Mike left the message at the house (perhaps he wanted to leave some trail for police to find if something went wrong and he got hurt/killed?) and Jem and Ev find it. Either way, the end result the two of them follow Mike to the SL bunker, and Evan starts to unlock some of his repressed memories about Liz's death.

Ev and Jem might even call for help from a certain blonde-haired, green-eyed US Marshal who has been assigned to look after Ev and Mike while they're in the witness protection program (this Marshal ofc being SB Vanessa, who I have decided is around and is a US Marshal in this au).

The canon ending for the Sister Location arc in the au will be Mike and Evan helping Elizabeth's spirit move on from Circus Baby.

As for the specifics of what happens when they're at the Sister Location, I'm not sure yet. I dunno if it happens over five days or just two or three.

I'd like to think there's a scene where Evan tells Elizabeth that he knows what it's like to let yourself do terrible things in Father's name to chase his affection, and that William just isn't worth it (technically Liz doesn't want to "make William proud" until she's Scrap Baby, but shhhhh).

I'd like to think there's a scene where Evan gets sucked into Funtime Freddy or Circus Baby (and comes out alive, ofc, if Very Very Traumatized).

Maybe Michael comes out of it with some scars from animatronics to match Ev and Jem's scars. Maybe Mike got some scars from Circus Baby specifically, as a sort of parallel to the scars Mike gave to Evan.

Mike doesn't get scooped, though. Not in the CANON ending, at least; I've thought about a lot of what-ifs where Mike, Evan, or both of them get scooped.

I do think it would be funny if Mike left the SL bunker with the Lolbit head that you sometimes see in the game as an easter egg, though. Maybe to Ev, Jem, and Ness' utter bafflement, he keeps it around as a souvenir. Tho it is ofc more likely that Mike would take something from Circus Baby to keep as a souvenir of what happened. But less funny.

here's a quick rundown on astarion: gay vampire spawn (not a vampire. like a demo version vampire. a "lesser" one but don't let him hear that) who has been kept for 200 years by his master as a slave. guy (who was an actual vampire) carved him up, tortured him and forced him to lure victims into his manor. astarion has been abused in so many ways i'd hit some sort of character limit if i listed half of them. he was only allowed to feet on rats and small vermin in the sewers. poor little meow meow astarion is now free due to [game story] reasons and seeks power and revenge -- he's an edgy fuck with a lot of swag and no moral compass. bro is a menace and loves causing problems on purpose. [slight spoiler] he will literally try to suck some of your blood like a day or two after you meet him and unless you succeed a skill check he'll just keep doing it until you die. if you resurrect yourself afterwards he'll go like "ooooh ooopsie sowwy! i wouldn't kill you if i knew you'll be back teehee can we forget about this? ;) <3 don't fucking kill me". he's such a good fucking whumpee you don't even know. it's insane. i don't want to ramble but he's almost everything i've ever wanted from a character like this in a large scale rpg. [slightly bigger spoiler] despite being the go-to "fuckable" character who everyone finds hot as hell (both in-universe and online) he's HORRIBLY traumatized by his sexual experiences from when he used to be a slave and when you romance him a good portion of his storyline revolves around trying to make him realize that he's more than just a slab of very attractive meat. he hides his feelings behind a facade of "evil tumblr sexyman-esque" mannierisms and getting to finally peel it back and see him for the poor wet cat that he is is so fucking satisfying. [an even bigger spoiler] i loved watching him cry when he finally gets to confront his former master. pristine content. there's so much more to his character (and this game in general) but if you ever need to justify spending full price on a new videogame release, there's nothing better than bg3. if i could choose one game to beam directly into the brain of each whumpblr user, it'd be this one.

Also i wish i had the opportunity to even consider buying a full price new release no matter how good the game is there is no world in which id be able to pay for that. Also idk about the gameplay either it seems very story oriented roleplay and almost dating sim-ish? Not a huge fan of those in general its gotta have more gameplay than walking around and basically watching a movie, but, again. No idea about anything, maybe it has incredible gameplay and i just dont know. Dont tell me if it does itll just make ms sadder bc that would absolutely make me wanna play it myself. Its kinda funny honestly the longer i spend not knowing anything the crazier everyone seems to me both online and irl. Its like im living in a separate world, i know no one who hasn't played this fucking game fjfhskhfd

downloading offerup and getting into final fantasy has been disastrous for my wallet. theres so many good deals and i am powerless to not want every mainline ff game in some form or another. im about to pick up x and xii for ps2 (i would hold out for zodiac age on switch bc thats the version i actually want to play but it was a package deal and a good deal at that) both complete with manual for 15$ AND its in a direction that id be going anyway so im not wasting gas. shout out to final fantasy for somehow not being all that expensive yet- the ps1 games are pretty cheap for how much clout they have (~40$ for a nice complete copy of 7,8,9 plus these are the versions to play from what i can tell, excited about 9 specifically!!, ~20$ for anthology and origins individually). the real money is in the gba because thats a really over inflated market and honestly like. as someone who is a big gba fan grew up with it have done some light collecting myself. its not a good system to collect for. the most comfortable ways to play are gated behind pricey screen mods, everything that isnt a thq movie game is getting pretty expensive but the killer for me is that theres not really any good way to display your collection, which to me is a huge part of collecting. gba games were designed to be thrown in a little zipper pouch in your gay little gba satchel and played, which is great and a huge part of why that console has so much nostalgia for me personally. (i love my gba case) but like. theres not a great way to put them on your shelves without either using a bunch of ds boxes (which do look nice, but i personally really like how every console has their own box style, they look visually distinct on a shelf) or making/buying a bunch of reproduction boxes or paying an insane premium to buy them complete with box. i think i personally will eventually try and make a bunch of cassette cases because that looks super cute and cassette cases are fun. idk. mixed bag. im glad you can still get gb and gbc games on the cheap though and sometimes you get lucky on gba but god what a nightmare to collect. so anyway for my physical collection im going for basically as many playstation 1/2/3/4 (and 5 i guess eventually bc ff16 is exclusive :/) releases as possible, trying to get as many of those on the ps1 simply bc its a cool console and the cases are fucking great and they actually come with manuals. snes/nes versions of the na ff games would be cool but tbqh i dont have those systems i dont have nostalgia for them and they’re expensive soooOooo. basically i am fucking balling and need more shelf space i guess im gonna go draw vivi doing something wacky and uncharacteristic. looking forward to playing ffx so i can play ffx-2

Hm. I wanted my dragonriders of pern iron man au to basically be a fusion where it's the plot of - or major points of - iron man transposed onto a pernese setting, with changes to fit the context of course. But reading other pern fanfic im like. Part of me wants to just play around with the sandbox of tony impresses a gold dragon, without the iron man plot points, or at least skipping figuring out how to map the whole thing with him being captured and tortured and Obadiah trying to kill him, onto pern. But then I feel like it's a cop-out on the complicated difficult bits of the story and lazy. Idk.

Maybe the whole kidnapping/torture/attempted murder and character growth happens before tony impresses a dragon? That would..actually really solve a lot of the problems, because how would you keep someone and their dragon apart so as to prevent rescue? So it happens before he bonds to ironath. Okay that makes way more sense!! Obadiah is Tony's superior in some way - maybe tony is the son of the now-dead lord holder of my made-up Stark Hold, and Obadiah made lord warder, bc tony was technically underage when his parents are killed (im going to go with by holdless folk for this). Of course deposing Obadiah (tho mostly its obie tries to kill tony for good and also kind of goes mad...not sure how he dies, tho. Maybe have the wrong-firestone, the stuff that explodes on contact with water, be in some corner collected by holdless folk to use as bombs, and Obie falls back and into it and they fought in water right before? Or something, idk. Anyway he dies, and tony is technically lord holder now. He gets confirmed as well, after maybe some usual back and forth but they don't want the hold in contention...

Okay so how does he go from lord holder to dragonrider? Obviously he has some health thing occur related to his torture, and believes he won't live long enough (and not long enough to sire an heir) so... I guess he gives the Holding to Jarvis who has been doing much of the work of Holding anyway, especially recently with tony sick. He doesn't keep it a secret from his friends in this, or at least not from jarvis, who has known tony since he was a child and honestly should have been lord warder in the first place. I guess he doesn't keep it a secret from pepper, either. Not sure if he tells rh'dey (rh'dey) who is a dragonrider, maybe bc he's busy and tony doesn't want to bother him, and he asks pepper not to tell rh'dey either when they see each other.

Tony has a blue firelizard named Dummie, because the flitt is not the brightest, but tony loves him. Writing stuff down as it occurs to me ok

Ah, anyway, pepper does end up telling rh'dey that tony is sick, which gets somehow up to Weyrleader N'klas, who decides no, tony can't be allowed to die (he doesn't know tony gave Lord Holdership to Jarvis, not yet anyway), now that Obadiah is no longer causing problems among the Holders about the Weyrs, and stark hold being neutral-to-friendly with the weyr now is beneficial to N'klas' plans, plus he has heard how intelligent tony is, and he has journeyman status in his craft, so all in all he has reasons to try to keep this man alive. So he sends for the Master Healer, but he believes if he sends the Healer *to* tony, the man will not receive it well, and he wont be able to treat Tony. So he has his weyr harper, who is trained in methods that one could call 'spy' skills, go to Stark Hold under a different guise. She will bring the medicine which the Healer is certain will treat Tony's ailment - heart-related and stress-related troubles - with her and will manage to find ways to give him the doses. Eventually he will be told, when his heart is strong enough he won't have an episode from the stress...

Yeah, this isn't going to go over well once tony finds out. And pepper has no idea, she thought maybe rh'dey would ask for the Weyrleader to send the Healer. Tony's reputation for being difficult is why the Weyrleader made the call, but it does make tony very displeased with him and nearly undoes N'klas' plans. Whoopsie doodles. Though he accepts that the not telling him is due to the risk of his health worsening from stress, but they could easily have just had the Healer come and tell him what ailed him and give him the medicines himself! So the Weyrleader is personally on Tony's shitlist for a long time. Deservedly tbh. He still appreciates the weyr and dragonriders but yeah.

And that ends parts 1+2.

Part 3 is where tony is at the Weyr to watch a Hatching when the gold dragnet hatchling decides to say fuck tradition and screw all these candidates, I want that guy. Oops. Ironath is very strong-willed, and Tony loves her but wishes it wasn't so complicated. He is glad he put in the paperwork while he was sick because it is quite easy now to have the Lord Holdership officially transfered to Jarvis, and the other Lord Holders reluctantly accept this because well, as Steward Jarvis has had much of the running of the Hold already.

Pepper impresses a Gold at the next Hatching, also. I was gonna have her bond a different color maybe at the same hatching but I thought that might be too many stands impressions in the same hatching, and also I can't see her with anything but Gold, either, so. She is an official candidate then, tho, she gets Searched. Woo, the trio are all at the Weyr now! Also she meets H'gan ;)

Ah, so part 3, continues with a dragonrider appearing from an accidental trip between times - from the past! No one has ever timed it to the future, not without following someone from the past, and yet somehow S'teve and Bronze Rogerseth did it. Yes this becomes a stevetony story bc I love them your honor. Ahem. Anyway, stuff! Friendship! Romance! They probably are dumb abt feelings and don't say anything without walking it back until Ironath rises and they express themselves before they end up unable to lol

And then I guess somehow the avengers plot happens, idk. Part 4 ig.

And yes. I am more or less the same age Luke was during the series, and I can't imagine the number it would do on you to be responsible for prepping a bunch of preteens and teenagers to face their violent deaths, especially after what he went through with his mother and Thalia.

I left it in the tags of the post that went viral against my will, but Luke's living out a different genre from Percy and company, and I��I would lose my shit, too, if in his position. That's torturous, dystopian shit.

And I find it so difficult to believe that it's a bad person—and not simply a very angry and hurt person—who sets out to do really questionable things to try and keep another kids from suffering and dying, to prevent anyone else from becoming himself.

There's a certain despair through it and Luke's choices; I really, really have my doubts over whether Luke genuinely believed that he would survive the war, either way.

Raging against the dying of the light and all that. He knows he will likely fail, he knows he's propping up a monster, and he's doing it anyway in this desperate attempt to create something different.

This makes Percy so important because he still thinks that as family and as people, the gods can change—just look at his conversation with Hermes at the end of TLO.

There's a faith he very understandably keeps (Poseidon is, by godly standards, a good dad who tries and that's important), a faith that Luke, in turn, has understandably lost and we see Hermes's grief and regret over that loss.

Luke's last change in heart, his choice to believe in Percy, in how to break this cycle of violence and abuse that's been eating demigods alive, is beautiful and kills me every time.

(Requisite note that this final choice takes on a different timbre considering the events of HoO)

He's lost everything—his mother, Thalia, Annabeth, any semblance of a home he ever had. Which is how I think he justifies Kronos, ultimately, I think. He's lost any hope he has, for himself or otherwise, and is intent on making the gods pay for what they've done.

Like every other tragic hero, he penned his own tragedy, knowing what was going to happen the whole time, which kills me.

He walks into his own end and, at the end, finds that last thing at the bottom of Pandora's jar—Hope.

- i was at this dystopian mad max fury road quarry looking place where everything was so muddy and they held all these people to work on the mines or something and it was really scary cause periodically I think at the end of the shift you had to bring everything all the clay minerals you collected and also fruit or any other food or gift you could to the boss but they like left you to your own devices there meaning it was survival of the fittest if you weren't smartest or fastest or if you were too kind you would end up with nothing... they had some celebrities there .. loona was there some pokemon were there i think some r&b singer from the early 2000s but idr who some ppl I went to school with it was kind of like a super strict boarding magical school and people were sent there as some sort of vague punishment I guess we were all excommunicated from the rest of society for some vague reasons... and this one influencer girl who was super rich got there and was like idc im going to post about all of this and she got up on some sort of indoor balcony that was close to the ceiling and got on the mic and started yelling and and the secretary was introducing her was like we advise people not to scream and then the amplifiers on the ceiling like exploded on her and she fell from the balcony hit her head and was acting like all traumatized bc of that and then they found out who the girl who told her all the gossip and took her away.. but anyways back to the end of shift offerings it was like my first one and i didn't get anything and was super nervous bc i was watching the ceremony and even people with decent gift were being humiliated and the loona members were reassuring me a little bit ;_; but when it got to my turn i was judged as a legendary Pokemon (that doesn't exist it was a sun/cog pokemon) so i was sent to another room because legendary pokemon were met with wayyy lower standards and I was let go just fine but i ended up finding a way out of there somehow and i was at this dark street where all the concerned relatives and friends of the people inside were waiting for them.. oh there was this whole thing about the people inside telling us that we could live at any time but if we did we would become forgotten/forsaken from everyone else's memory.. which made everyone really scary but that's when I found out that was a lie because everyone was there waiting for them and from a distance we could see this one trans woman (she looked like stasha sanchez telling them that she used to be inside as well and that they should fight to free their loved ones and i think that made them start a rebellion then idk what happened but they started transforming into monsters and zombies but they were just wearing Halloween costumes! But they really became inhuman undead monsters and wanted to kill people even their loved ones that they helped escape it was either kill or be killed so we had to kill them and everything went back to normal it was like the evil tyrannical academy never existed

2.) because of this, will has a big shelf by his bed in the apollo cabin dedicated to those funko pop figures that nico has gotten him over the years, and will would DEFINITELY be the kind of person to keep them in their original packaging, either that or he would have special display stands for each figure

3.) and every time nico walks into the apollo cabins and sees will’s shelf of Star Wars Things From Nico, he would get really happy inside because it meant that will really appreciated all nico’s efforts

10.) also (for the sake of this lil headcanon please imagine that demigods can use phones) will would definitely put himself as an emergency contact in nico’s phone, and also set up all that medical info in the health app, just in case nico collapses or gets injured after a battle and is stuck in the mortal world and a mortal finds him, then they can contact will and he can get there ASAP or at least give the mortal directions for what to do

11.) i think if nico and will could have regular mortal jobs will would obv be a surgeon or some kind of awesome life saving doctor but then i dont really know about nico. like he could go down lots of different paths. but for the sake of NOT going off on a tangent and just sticking to giving u guys headcanons, i think nico wouldn’t really have a job, he would maybe just live in italy or france or somewhere with that aesthetic and sell things he makes or maybe run a little storefront (i realize that these qualify as jobs and yea but hear me out i’ll probably be able to take this somewhere)

It’s not easy hiding the fact that you can see supernaturals from your boyfriend. 

Who is literally an exorcist. 

When you both started dating, you agreed that no secrets would be hidden between you two, but if Teru knew that you could see supernaturals... things would get complicated very quickly. 

Every time you passed the bathroom and saw Hanako in there while other people were around, you turned a blind eye. 

 Every time the Mokke try to give you a sweet from the classroom window sill, you averted your gaze.  

It pained you to ignore the supernaturals that you have seen all of your life, but you simply just couldn’t risk how Teru would react if he knew that you interacted with them. You were very aware about Teru’s opinions on ghosts and supernaturals, especially about Hanako-kun. 

Right now, you were walking with your boyfriend to your next class, chatting. 

“Are we still down for getting lunch after school?” you asked curiously. 

You could tell that he was already almost drooling at the thought of trying out the new cafe in town. “For sure. You know where to find me once school is out, right?” 

Poking him in the arm affectionately, you said, “Under the tree in front of the school. We meet there every day, dummy.” 

“I know, I know. I’ll meet you there as soon as I can, and then we can taste test their pastries.” He smiled at you. You let out a little ‘yess!’ as you linked pinkies with him. 

Standing on your tippy toes, you pressed a tiny kiss to his cheek. “I’ll be waiting! Go ace the test that you were talking about!” you cheered. 

Teru laughed and watched your form turn the corner, a fond look in his eyes. 

He made a mental note to be quick while he got rid of that pesky ghost Hanako.

As you stood under the tree in front of the school, you worriedly glanced at your phone. 

‘He’s already fifteen minutes late.. that’s longer then last time.’ 

You pondered on whether or not you should send him a quick text, your finger hovering over the send button.

you: hey, everything alright? those pastries aren’t going to eat themselves 😳👀

Sent. 

‘Maybe he was just finishing up his test?’

 But that didn’t make sense to you either. Your boyfriend was a straight-A student, who somehow always turned in his assignments first while getting perfect scores almost every time. 

You couldn’t help the nagging feeling in the back of your mind, that... the supernaturals had something to do with his absence. 

With your mind made up, you hurriedly placed your phone back in your pocket and made your way back into the school. 

Peeking into all of his classes, you found that they were all empty, with the students and teachers having already packed their things up. The only exception was Tsuchigomori-sensei, who only quirked an eyebrow at you as you quickly stammered an apology for disturbing him. 

The only place left to go was.. the rooftop. 

As you climbed the stairs leading to the very top of the building, you could feel energy growing in the air, similar to electricity. 

‘Shit, he couldn’t be--!’ 

Your hand flew to the rooftop door handle, revealing the very scene that you had dreaded the most. 

“Teru!” You tried to yell over the crackling of lightning. But he couldn’t hear you with his back turned to you; all of his attention was on Hanako, who was currently speared to the ground by your boyfriend’s sword. 

Even from a distance, Hanako’s struggling screams still rang in your ears, shattering your heart. 

You couldn’t let him do this. You couldn’t let him harm a ghost just for being a ghost, who hasn’t caused any harm to the students. 

“You supernaturals are all the same. Even if you promise not to hurt anyone, who says that your rumors won’t change? What will you do when you finally end up killing another person? It’s my job to stop that from happening--”

Tears welled into your eyes as you ran forward, wrapping your arms around him from behind. 

“Teru, you need to stop this!” you begged. 

For a moment, the lightning stopped and Teru tensed up. 

“[Name]? What are you doing here?!” He whipped around to face you, shock written all over his face. 

His eyes darted from you to the supernatural he had pinned to the ground. “Wait. You can see him?” 

You looked away. “...We can talk about that later. But right now, can you please let go of him?”

“You know I can’t do that, [Name].” He said softly. “It’s for your own safety.”

Taking a deep breath to collect yourself, you said “Wait, Hanako hasn’t harmed anyone,” Teru opened his mouth to respond to that, but you continued. “Let’s talk about this somewhere else, and after that, you can decide if you still want to go through with exorcising him, okay?” 

Your boyfriend took one look at Hanako’s puppy-dog eyes that screamed “please?”, then back at you, and sighed. 

“Fine. But you have a lot of explaining to do, too.” 

“...I know.” you confessed. 

Teru took your hand and led you back to the doors to the stairs, before shooting Hanako one last cold glare, to which Hanako only closed his eyes and sighed with relief. 

You both went your separate ways once you exited the building, an unspoken feeling left hanging in the air.

Your day ended with a blur, and Teru still hadn’t contacted you all night. By the time morning rolled around, you were beginning to think that your relationship with him had ended before you heard the doorbell ring. 

It was still fairly early, and you were only dressed in a big t-shirt and some sleep shorts, but you answered the door nonetheless, only to find Teru standing there with a box in his hands.  

“Umm.. May I come in?” He asked hesitantly. 

You were (secretly) really happy to see him standing on your front porch, knowing that the tension between you guys could finally be settled. 

As you invited him in, he sat down on a stool at your counter while you stood on the other side, leaning on the kitchen cabinets. 

Teru nudged the box in your direction with his hand and looked away sheepishly with a blush on his face. “Here, I uh.. got these for you.” 

You curiously opened the box to find... 

“Pastries?” 

His blue eyes looked up to meet your gaze and he gave you a gentle smile. “Yeah, I remembered that we were supposed to go try the new cafe together yesterday, so I thought that you might want to share these since... things got in the way.” 

The corners of your lips quirked up as you took one of the pastries. “Thank you, Teru. That was really considerate of you.” 

“And I also hoped that we could talk about what happened yesterday..” He trailed off. 

You sighed, taking a bite of the pastry before beginning. “Yeah, I’ll start. I’ve been able to see supernaturals since the beginning. I didn’t tell you because, well.. I knew what you thought of them, and I didn’t want to put anything at risk.”

Continuing, you said, “I know that you come from a long line of exorcists, and I really didn’t want to interfere with your work, but some of the supernaturals, like Hanako, haven’t done anything to harm anyone. He’s even protected your little brother and Nene when they’ve been in trouble.” 

Teru also took one of the pastries and munched on it, absorbing your words.

He noted, “Before I came here to talk to you, I also had a small conversation with my brother about that. Kou insisted that he would keep Hanako in check, as long as he didn’t hurt any of the students. And if it came down to that, then he agreed to exorcise him.”

He took a deep breath. “What I’m trying to say is that I’m giving both Kou and Hanako a chance to prove that Hanako is a safe supernatural. And if they fail, well.. then I’ll take care of it.” 

“Teru,” You began with a smile tugging at your lips. “You don’t know how much I appreciate you doing that for us. I’m sorry for interfering in the first place.” 

He gave you that familiar warm smile that made your heart skip a beat. “And I’m sorry too. From now on, no more secrets, okay?” Teru questioned. 

“Definitely. No more secrets.” 

 Your boyfriend held his arms open for you and you rolled your eyes affectionately before letting yourself be held by him, both of you humming in satisfaction. 

“Wanna go grab some breakfast in town to make up for yesterday?” He asked you, his voice slightly muffled.

this isnt quite what you asked but heres what's everyone from chapter 1 has been Up To with a little bit of context (and under a read more bc it got LENGTHY):

kris - professional stay at home teen (they live w/ asgore n help run the flower shop sometimes. this decision was entirely bc i dont like toriel). was wrongly diagnosed w Sudden Soul Rejection when they were incredibly young and given an experimental transplanted soul as a replacement. it works for them fine, give or take having to see gaster once a month for checkups. but sometimes the soul makes them skittish n decides they're going to sit in front of the pc and play 30 consecutive hours of a certain simulation game and not even let them drown people in the pool. if it were entirely up to them, they'd be like. passing out on the sofa to documentaries about bigfoot. or practicing cool knife tricks to impress their friends at their next tabletop meetup

- EDITED IN: the soul is kind of their friend. they are wearing a hypothetical get along shirt. most of the time, they agree on actions and things to do. tends to refer to themself + their soul as we/us which originally was just something they did in their head but they kept slipping in speech/text n just became a Thing of how they talk. switches to 'I/Me' whenever smth is wrong.

- also edited in: they believe the soul they have is their original soul bc nobody has told them otherwise. whenever theyre like 'oh yeah we think about our soul n view it as a separate entity to us like. all the time. it likes to hurt if we make too many choices it doesn't seem to like and kind of forces us to be a toned down version of what we want to be but thats just how souls are haha' and everyone is like.... 'Hey Kris That's Really Not How It Is.' theyre like. 'huh. gonna ignore that for now' - this was going to be a plot point

toriel - head of H0MEWOR1D (H01)'s department of education; kind of lost her roots as a simple math teacher as she was pushed into a lot of power she didn't even really seek out. divorced asgore over some miscommunications in their relationship; also loosely as a result of grief from asriel's death

asgore - the same. runs a lil flower/gift shop. people come in more to talk with him than to buy flowers most of the time, though

asriel Flowey - he's back in flower form, thanks to the government an accident. causes a lot of technology glitches wherever he goes, and wants revenge. isn't sure how to go about it. asriel "died" around 8 years before the story takes place and kris still misses him and refuses to even THINK about even the IDEA of calling someone their sibling after what happened, just in case it somehow happens a second time

susie - more of the same really. she spends most of her time either at grillby's (she's sort of become his assistant n helps with opening/closing. it just happened) or getting into low-stakes trouble w/ kris

noelle - she's in the city's equivalent of college and shes so tired. shes So Abysmally Tired n got kinda pushed 2 follow in her mom's footsteps. she's rarely around anymore except through text or on monsters & mages (dnd) night. (however.........she will come back w/ a long break n hang out w everyone again)

berdly - tbh i didnt even consider berdly when i made the au initially. idk what he's doing. probably in a similar situation to noelle??? canonically got kicked out of the M&M group due to clashes w/ other players but lurks in their group chat to posts memes sometimes

didnt rly think of any other of kris' classmates (+ their families) after ch1 and probably will continue to not, until chs 3-5 come out and i gotta whip up roles and histories for like. a lotta guys all of a sudden. i also forgot about noelle's parents

sans - runs a convenience store that everyone kind of thinks is a front, but also it has really cheap snacks and the local teens make a point of stopping there after school. so essentially, more of the same papyrus - similar to ut. is a very polite and sweet boy but you'll know when he's coming

grillby - he's back. he runs a bar like back in ut but the cozy vibes and weird-for-a-bar hours keep attracting kids who need parents, so half of his menu is comprised of overly sweet mocktails. usually only frequented by monsters

QC - same as usual. has a "rivalry" with grillbz but, theyre besties and have a book club

mettaton - he's real and he's back. he's similar to how he is back in ut w/ his EX body. likes to hang out at grillby's and talk to unsuspecting fans. has a show for everything

napstablook - similar to how they are in ut. helps mtt with making music sometimes. doesn't leave the house too often, but spends a lot of time posting on undernet

undyne - unfortunately. more of the same. she is a cop in the monster district. i am also upset by this but couldn't think of anything better for her

alphys - a doctor studying under dr. gaster in the hopes she'll one day take over his research. she spends most of her time as a nurse with a bigger title, though, and blocks out the weirdness of her job with anime.

gaster - weird guy. H01's top soul researcher and resident House wannabe. trying to manufacture the ultimate soul that can be controlled with simple internal switches, but so far he's only had 1 (very limited) success with a certain human. monsters just melt, and darkners just sorta......get weird... he's onto Something, though.

ralsei - lonely boy with some very strange hobbies. popular on UnderNet for poetry, baking videos, and general cryptid vibe. is the DM for the monsters & mages group (also seems to think everything is actually very fine in H01 when it is very much not)

lancer - about the same. professional Round Boy. lives w/ rouxls full time. follows susie around like a lost puppy and calls himself her "underling."

rouxls - runs a hotel/casino kind of deal where the objective Bad Guys hang out, and usually ends up doing any of the spade king's paperwork.

spade king - mafia godfather. kind of a dick. don't play cards with him

seam - works with the spade king as his right hand cat more or less because they have for a lot of years and are in that 'sunk cost fallacy' zone. thinks of retiring to a quiet life in the monster section of town like, daily

jevil - used to work with the spade king, but got imprisoned for Crimes. got weird after The Accident (separate from asriel's accident)

temmies (all) - dont really get mentioned except offhandedly but they run the monster space station. so far, are the only monsters who have ever been to space.

as far as chapter 2 goes:

yeah i dont have much so far for characters. in the original version of the au i accidentally made darkners as a whole just kinda..... not great? like all sorts of weird organized crime ties n sort of going out of their way to be A Problem to the city (not even in like. a revolution way. in a working against them but with the same goals kinda way). with the whole context it worked At The Time, bc i just had the spade king to look to as a villain, and also in this au the darkners are just trying to survive a world that ultimately was not built for them (that humans think they own, and monsters sort of... seeing this and wondering what it'll mean for them whichever one wins), but w/ new info abt how the dark world works n more guys to work with i want to kind of. edit the vibe a bit. like yea darkners will ultimately do whatever it takes to take over H01, but maybe in a better way than like. idk. all this. it doesnt have to be peaceful or anything it just has to be more adaptable as we meet more kinds of darkners

however yeah i thought up 'queen as some sort of childless mommy blogger/influencer' and that completely revived all memory i had of this au. she should be on mtt's talkshow. also she sells collectible wine glasses w/ her likeness

spamton is another one of gaster's failed soul experiments, but he hasn't melted yet, and seems............fine? sort of. so he hasn't gotten decommissioned yet. he does want to give you malware tho. hot monster singles in your area n all that
