I always always always get into rare pairings where I find what I think is an interesting take on the characters involved and become very intense about it, and then when I’m like “Hmm I know there wont be many fics about these two together, but I really wanna see how other people see them! :)” I discover that how other people see them is as unrecognizable abusive monsters

i wrote something!!
soooo I’m a pathological “i have a fic idea and i’m never going to write it or I write a few pages and then fall off” writer buuuut I had this very cute idea and wrote 4k words of it! I wanted to post it here before ao3 because 1) not sure if I’m a fan of starting a multichapter WIP because I still may abandon it like my other stuff 2) i want feedback before i continue!!
here’s the gist: it’s princess prom except it’s a high school au and princess prom is actually homecoming. Adora is very happy and supportive of Glimmer and Bow running for king/queen. Glimmer is very, very passionate about winning. The problem is they’ve naturally got competition, in the form of Perfuma (who is equally as passionate about winning, for her own reasons) and her new girlfriend Scorpia. In a sitcom-style mishap, Adora sort of accidentally signs up to run as well...with Catra, Scorpia’s best friend who Adora doesn’t not have a crush on. The two decide to go through with it with the intention of getting eliminated from the race as soon as possible. Then, their friends come up with a different plan for them.
so, take a read below at 4k of stupidity and let me know what you think, and if you would be interested to read more :) (fyi there is a lot of swearing lol)
“I’M GONNA BE THE QUEEN!”
Adora shrieks, flailing her arms and almost knocking her lamp over in the process. She whirls around in her desk chair to face the intruder, arms raised in karate chop form (she does not know any martial arts), and finds Glimmer, who has flung her bedroom door open and has that crazed Glimmer look in her eyes that only means trouble.
“Fuck! Glimmer, you can’t just sneak up--wait, how did you get in my house?!”
“Didn’t you hear what I said?! Also, the door was unlocked,” Glimmer replies, kicking off her shoes and launching herself onto Adora’s bed, which she had just painstakingly made.
Adora presses her hand into her face, sighing. “I was kind of busy trying not to piss myself. Haven’t you heard of knocking? What if I was, you know...” she says, gesturing vaguely.
Glimmer rolls her eyes. “Please, Adora. It’s nothing I haven’t seen before. Anyway--the student council decided to bring back the homecoming pep rally!” she squeals, gleefully kicking her feet in the air.
Adora leans back in her chair, brows furrowed. “Bring back? Didn’t we have one last year?”
“Yes, but after the water balloon thing they weren’t gonna let us have it anymore, but it turns out that one senior who wasn’t gonna graduate did graduate so I guess they figured it would probably be fine, ‘cause like, who’s ever gonna try and top that?”
“Right,” Adora hums, thinking back to last year’s pep rally. Just before homecoming court was announced, a group of rogue seniors had risen from the bleachers, unleashing dozens of water balloons they had stashed in their backpacks. What ensued was a pandemonium Adora could only remember in flashes, resulting in almost the entire student body and the school’s hallways being completely soaked.
The catch was that the seniors had filled the balloons with blue paint. It had taken the janitorial staff weeks to get the gym bleachers, the lockers in the science wing, and the cafeteria ceiling (don’t ask) to look normal again. Classes were cancelled for almost an entire week because the paint had messed up something with the internal plumbing. It was single-handedly the coolest thing Adora had experienced in her living years.
It was all led by the legendary Mara Hart, notorious for sticking it to the man during her K-12 years. The prank had all but gotten her and her friends expelled, but given that she was otherwise an A+ student and no one could technically prove who was behind it (her friends were loyal to each other to the bitter end), she walked at Bright Moon High’s graduation to uproarious applause from her classmates.
Adora knew some of the more grisly details because Mara had been captain of the girls’ lacrosse team last year--effortlessly cool Mara, endlessly caring Mara, definitely part of Adora’s gay awakening Mara--but it had become something of an urban legend at BMHS over the past year.
“Wait, how do you know any of this?” Adora asks, because while she was personally connected to Mara in a small way, she hadn’t been aware that they were going to cancel the pep rally indefinitely.
Glimmer arches an eyebrow. “Um, hello? My mom’s the principal?”
“Oh, yeah.”
“And Mermista totally let it slip when I asked her about it after the student council meeting,” Glimmer adds, then pauses. “Okay, it was more like I didn’t even wanna be there and I wish no one had ever voted for me and I’ll tell you whatever, but still. I’m...” she props her face in her hands and bats her eyelashes, “in the know.”
Adora smirks and rolls her eyes fondly, turning back to her desk to shut her textbook and put her notes away. She can never get anything done when Glimmer’s around. “Okay, so, pep rally’s back--that’s cool,” she says.
“It’s not just cool, Adora,” Glimmer scoffs. “Being homecoming queen is literally all I’ve wanted since I was a kid. I thought my dream had died with Mara’s academic career, but now there’s hope again--it’s meant to be, Adora. It’s destiny.”
Adora had literally never heard Glimmer talk about this, but, “Um, okay.”
Glimmer huffs and dramatically rolls onto her back, flinging her arms out and further messing up Adora’s sheets. Lesson learned, it isn’t worth the effort for Adora to make the bed anymore. “My mom was the homecoming queen like a hundred years ago, and my aunt was the homecoming queen before that. It’s, like, my birthright!”
Adora lifts a shoulder, twisting around in her chair to look at Glimmer. “Okay, then we’ll just get you to be the homecoming queen too. Can’t your mom just...make it happen?”
“Ugh, no,” Glimmer sighs. “I already asked. It’s a student vote.”
“Oh!” Adora brightens. “That’s easy, then. Everyone loves you.”
Glimmer pouts. “I know, but it’s not just a popularity contest--it’s, like, a whole thing. Me and Bow are gonna have to do a talent show, and there’s a relay race, and other stuff that if we don’t do well in we won’t even get to be in the final vote.”
“Wait, what?” Adora doesn’t remember any of that from last year. “What do you mean, Bow? Is...he's running for homecoming queen too?”
“Ha! No,” Glimmer laughs, then her expression darkens, eyes narrowing. “I would crush him.”
“Right...” Adora says. Actually, Bow would make a pretty good homecoming queen. But Adora values her life, so she decidedly does tell Glimmer this.
“No, every queen nominee has to also have someone to run with them as their ‘king,’” Glimmer explains, making air quotes with her fingers. “There’s no boy/girl bullshit, but you do have to be in a pair.”
“I don’t remember any...talent shows, or whatever,” Adora points out. “I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of one of those happening in real life.”
“Well, obviously you never went. It would’ve all been during your lacrosse thingies and you would've been too busy making googly eyes at Mara Hart,” Glimmer replies, wiggling her fingers at Adora.
Adora crosses her arms and blushes a deep red. “I would not. I would’ve been playing lacrosse. And stuff.” Okay, maybe she did make googly eyes at Mara, but only sometimes, as a treat, and Glimmer doesn’t need to know that.
Glimmer flips back over on her stomach and levels Adora with a pout. “Adora, this means a lot to me. We’re gonna need your help to win this.”
Adora has no idea how she could possibly be of any help with this, but hey-- “Of course, Glimmer. Whatever you need. I’m there.”
Glimmer grins, eyes sparkling. “Yaaaaay. Also, my mom’s making meatloaf tonight, you in?”
Adora pumps her fist in the air. “Sweet. Hell, yes.”

“This is a joke, right? Like, you’re joking?” Catra says into the receiver as she shoves another handful of popcorn into her mouth.
“I am usually a pretty funny gal, it’s true--but, ah, no. This time I’m serious,” Scorpia replies on the other end.
Catra hoists her phone higher up on her shoulder while she adjusts her grip on her Xbox controller. “Okay, please explain,” she says between chews.
Scorpa sighs, and Catra visualizes her sitting cross-legged on her bedspread, hugging one of her many stuffed animals to her chest. “I know it’s kind of silly, but Perfuma sounded really excited about it, ‘cause I guess if you win, you get to pick what charity the proceeds from the dance ticket sales go to, and...I just couldn’t say no?”
Catra smirks, mashing a series of buttons on her controller as her TV screen lights up in front of her. She’s been trying to get past this level for weeks, but she’ll probably die right before the end again whether she’d answered Scorpia’s call or not. “You are so whipped,” she says.
Scorpia sighs again, but this time Catra can hear a smile in it. “I guess so, kitty cat. Still, it sounds kinda...fun? I mean, it’s more time spent with her, if anything else. She’s talking about writing an original song together for the talent show and incorporating her Tibetan singing bowls into it.”
Catra takes that in and barely suppresses a laugh. Her New Year’s resolution was to make fun of her friends less. Some days are harder than others. “Um, wow,” she says instead. “That’s, uh...that’ll be interesting. Do I have to call you Queen Scorpia if you win?”
“Oh, Perfuma doesn’t believe in gendered royalty,” Scorpia replies. “She wants us to be known as Homecoming Monarchs.”
“Of course she does,” Catra mutters. Perfuma is endlessly kind and patient and makes Scorpia smile, so by default Catra likes her, but otherwise they...don’t exactly share identical values, let’s say. Catra brings her own point home by pressing a button on her controller and chainsawing an alien in half on screen.
“Do you...think it’s a stupid idea? The whole...running for homecoming thing, I mean.”
Catra hears the telltale signs of Scorpia-doubting-herself in her reply, so she pauses the game. “Nah. If it’s something you guys wanna do, you should go for it. Fuck what anyone else thinks.”
“Okay, thanks,” Scorpia says, sounding lighter. “I think it means a lot to Perfuma. It would be cool to win it for her.”
“Well, hey,” Catra continues, un-pausing her game. “If you need any help, let me kn--oh, fuck!”
“Catra?” Panic sets in Scorpia’s tone. “Kitty cat, speak to me--do I need to call 911?!”
“No, no, Scorpia, please don’t do that,” Catra groans, tossing her controller aside. “I just got blown up in my stupid game again, that’s all. I’m never gonna beat this final boss.”
Scorpia sighed in relief. “Aw, don’t give up, kitty cat. One of these days, you’re gonna really give it to--what’s the dude’s name again?”
“Prime something-or-whatever,” Catra grumbled, reaching for her popcorn.
“Yeah, that guy. He’ll never know what hit him.”
Catra snickers into the receiver. “Yeah, okay. Thanks, Scorpia.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The lunch period at BMHS is, naturally, chaotic. Being a regional high school, every inch of the place is usually crawling with students, and the cafeteria is no different. The student population is small enough and the cafeteria big enough to condense into one lunch period, although Adora has oftentimes heard Perfuma lament about the ethics and health concerns of overcrowding.
Adora likes chaos. She likes that the overlapping sounds of chairs scraping and garbled chattering combine to form a comforting din that allows her to drown out whatever weird TikTok plans Bow’s making (ok, to be real, she will be asking about them later) and quietly observe the antics happening at tables around them.
She takes another bite of her pudding and her eyes land on the table to their right where Kyle, Lonnie, and Rogelio from her math class always sit together. Lonnie is mechanically chewing her gum as she stares into a compact mirror, examining her eyebrows with fierce concentration. Across from her, Kyle is holding up something on his phone to Rogelio with one hand and gesticulating wildly with the other as he holds a corn dog. Rogelio is nodding along but is staring down fondly at Kyle rather than at the screen Kyle’s pointing to, one arm hanging loose around Kyle’s shoulders. Lonnie slaps her compact shut and shouts something at them, pointing emphatically to her eyebrows. They all pause for a moment before bursting into laughter. Then Kyle drops his corn dog.
Adora pointedly does not observe the table across from theirs. She’ll gladly watch the Star siblings silently and intensely do their homework for the next period, or listen to Mermista fight off Seahawk’s PDA attempts, but nothing could compel her to look at the table straight ahead.
That table was where Catra Weaver and her friends sat.
Including: Perfuma’s new girlfriend, Scorpia Garnet; Entrapta Dryl, who was dating one of the Hordak twins (Adora was ever completely sure which one); the Hordak twins in question, one of which who usually broods silently and one of which who usually stares around smiling at nothing and everything; the stylish and blonde ruler of the theatre kids who has been nicknamed Double Trouble for as long as Adora can remember; and finally: Catra Weaver. Effortlessly cool, effortlessly gorgeous, effortlessly effortless Catra Weaver, leaning back in her chair with her arms crossed, coolly regarding the rest of the cafeteria as she holds court at her table of wonderful misfit toys.
Today’s effortless ensemble: cool jean jacket, a cool crop top, cool black jeans, cool combat boots, she got a haircut recently so--
“Um, Earth to Adora?”
“Huh?” Adora says, jerking her head up.
This is why she avoids looking at Catra Weaver’s table. Or Catra Weaver in general.
“We were talking about homecoming,” Glimmer says from her seat across from Adora, raising an eyebrow. “You were totally spaced out.”
Adora clears her throat, willing herself not to blush. “Sorry,” she replies, digging back into her pudding.
“Glimmer’s trying to convince me not to run for court,” Perfuma continues, crossing her arms.
“What? Why?”
“Because it’s totally lame and stupid and a waste of time,” Mermista answers from beside Perfuma, inspecting her nail polish. She glances up when she senses everyone at the table staring at her. “What?”
“Mermista, you’re on the homecoming committee,” Bow says.
Mermista shrugs. “So? I said what I said.”
“Look, Perfuma,” Glimmer starts, sliding her hand across the table toward Perfuma. “I just don’t want you to be disappointed if you lose. Homecoming’s a really big deal to me, and I really want to win.” She smiles saccharinely, tilting her head at Perfuma, eyes gone wide. Bow and Adora exchange a look.
Perfuma smiles back. “Oh, don’t worry about me, Glimmer! I’m sure our classmates will select the most deserving and talented couple to win,” she says, then goes back to stabbing a fork into her salad.
Glimmer’s eye starts twitching. Bow slowly and gently takes Glimmer’s hand and slides it back to her side of the table. “Glimmer, we’ll do great. The most important thing is to have fun,” he says, patting her hand.
“The most important thing is the charity,” Perfuma mutters.
“That too.”
“Is anybody else we know running?” Adora asks. Glimmer and Perfuma both shake their heads in response, until Mermista sighs dejectedly.
“Unfortunately,” she groans, raising her hand.
“Wait, what?! You just said it was stupid and lame!” Bow squawks.
“It is,” Mermista rolls her eyes. “But the rest of the student council said it would look really bad if I was on the planning committee and didn’t run. I was forced against my will.”
“Isn’t that a conflict of interest?” Glimmer asks, gripping her lunch tray so tight Adora wondered if she was going to launch it at Mermista’s head.
“I don’t know? I guess not? I’m planning on getting cut as soon as humanly possible though, so whatever,” Mermista replies, flicking her hair behind her shoulder.
“We won’t win with that attitude, my love!” Seahawk roars, throwing his arm around Mermista’s shoulder and raising a fist triumphantly. “You and I are going to be the greatest King and Queen this school has ever seen!”
“Oh my god, please stop,” Mermista groans, hiding her face in her hands.
“Picture it: you, me, newly crowned, gliding down the science wing--the students stop and stare! Could it really be our King and Queen in the flesh? The teachers stare too! I am going to give them both straight A’s!”
“Please just sit and eat your sandwich,” Mermista begs.
“Never,” Seahawk says, then kisses her on the cheek and acquiesces, taking a big bite of his sandwich. Adora tries to hide her smirk when she sees Mermista blush a deep red. She elbows Glimmer and nods in their direction so she can see.
“Aw, how cute. I’m going to destroy them,” Glimmer whispers in Adora’s ear.
“I know,” Adora whispers back. “But try to at least be nice about it.”
“No promises.”
“Ok, I have to pee,” Adora announces to the table, grabbing her lunch tray as she stands, grinning at Bow’s groan of TMI, Adora!
She makes her way over to the trash cans by the cafeteria exit, waving to her friends on the lacrosse team as she dumps her leftovers in the trash and sets the tray in the dish bin beside it. She should probably go over and check in with them about practice tonight, but she really has to pee, which reminds her that she forgot her water bottle all the way back to the table and needs to refill it before her next class.
“Damn it,” she mutters to herself, still smiling at her lacrosse friends as she whips around to head back--
And crashes right into someone, their heads knocking smack together.
“Ow!” Adora yelps, losing her footing for a moment. She rubs at her stinging forehead, glancing up as she apologizes, “Shit, sorry, sorry, that was totally my fault, I--”
And stares right up at Catra Weaver.
“I...I...I...”
She blinks a few times, but yes, that is Catra Weaver, rubbing at her own forehead and fixing a few strands of hair that had come loose from behind her ears. Catra Weaver, up close and personal, who she hasn’t talked to since...
“Your forehead is fucking hard. And big,” Catra says, holding her tray in one hand as she narrows her eyes up at Adora.
“Oh, um, you too...I mean! Thanks? I grew it myself,” Adora replies spectacularly, and then promptly wants to crawl into a hole and never come out.
Catra raises one eyebrow at her. “How hard did I hit you?”
Adora scrambles to answer. “Oh, not at all! I mean, not hard. It was my fault. Are you, um, are you okay?” This is going amazingly.
“I’m fine, Greyskull,” Catra replies, sending a tingle up Adora’s spine. She goes to deposit her tray. “Just watch where you’re going.”
Adora grins dopily. “Yes. I mean--I will. Sorry. Again.”
Catra glances Adora up and down, eyebrow still raised, and goes to say something else, when they’re interrupted by a foreboding, familiar voice.
“Ah, Adora! I’m so pleased to see you taking an interest in student affairs.”
Adora turns to see Glimmer’s mom looming over them, hands neatly clasped together. Maybe looming isn’t the right word as she’s smiling brightly down on her and Catra, but she’s tall, ok? “Oh, hi Ang--,” Adora starts before remembering they’re at school, “um, Mrs. Moon. What’s up?”
Angella gestures between her and Catra. “I was just observing how wonderful it will be that Glimmer will have a friend to share the homecoming experience with.”
Adora tenses again, remembering that Catra is still standing very close to her. “Oh, haha, yeah, super great. Wait, what?” Sharing?
Then she notices that her and Catra are standing in front of the wall where the Homecoming Court Signup Sheet is hanging. A sparkly pen tied to the clipboard is dangling within Adora’s reach.
“Oh, um, actually, Perfuma’s already--”
“I think this activity will make a fine addition to your college applications, Adora. And you know how Glimmer gets,” Angella leans in conspiratorially, not bothering to lower her voice. “I think it will calm her nerves to have a friend by her side. A bit of friendly competition, even!” she claps her hands together, delighted. “I remember having so much fun with my friends back in my day.”
“But, I’m already on the lacrosse team...” Adora mumbles, scratching the back of her neck. She glances down at the pen.
“Oh, but you know schools these days, always looking for that something that makes a student stand out,” Angella says, waving her hand dismissively. “And don’t worry, I’ll speak to Coach Huntara about any scheduling conflicts. You’ll get to have the best of both worlds!”
Wait, but lacrosse was Adora’s whole thing--does she not stand out enough? Will she seem boring to UEternia? “I...”
“Oh, Ms. Weaver!” Angella says, as if she’s just now noticing Catra. “I didn’t take you for the...school spirit type.”
“I’m not,” Catra replies, crossing her arms. She smiles saccharinely and adds, “ma’am,” for good measure. God, she’s cool.
“Ah,” Angella says, creating an awkward pause before brightening again. “Well, still, here you are. Are you Adora’s running mate?”
So, sometimes Adora panics.
Look, she’s in a high-stress situation. The girl she doesn’t not have an embarrassing crush on bumped into her, talked to her, and then her best friend’s mom swooped in basically saying that lacrosse is boring and dumb and running for homecoming court will get her into UEternia. At least, that’s what Adora got from all that. And then she insinuates that she’ll be doing that with Catra Weaver.
So, she panics. She panics, and she grabs the glittery pen, and she continues to panic.
“Yep! We’re running together!” she says, grinning.
“Say what?” Catra hisses.
“Oh, wonderful!” Angella squeals, clapping her hands together again. “I must say, I think this will turn out to be a very interesting competition. You’ll have to come dress shopping with us, Adora.”
“Haha, yeah...” Adora says, quickly scribbling Adora Greyskull & Catra Weaver on the signup sheet. Oh fuck, oh god.
“Hang on a fu--” Catra starts, then clamps her mouth shut, because the goddamn principal is still talking to them.
“Oh, I wonder what you’ll do for the talent show! I can’t wait...well, I’m off. It was great catching up, girls!” Angella says, and winks, and does weird-mom-finger-guns, and then she’s gliding away as quickly as she came.
Adora continues to grin and wave awkwardly until Angella is out of sight, then she deflates. That was so weird.
Then she turns and sees Catra reach for the pen that’s still in her hand. Adora has half a mind to snatch it away. Or half a brain cell, at least. “Hey!”
“Cross our names out. Right. Now,” Catra growls through gritted teeth, still trying to grab the pen. Adora tries to hold it up out of reach, but it’s still attached to the clipboard, so the best she can do is weave her hand in and out of Catra’s way.
“Um, no? I just told her we were running!”
“Well, we’re not. Give it to me!”
“No!” Adora grunts, yanking the pen away. “You heard her--she’s gonna talk to Coach Huntara. I can’t back out now.”
“Well, I can!” Catra says, grabbing at Adora’s arm, where she has the pen tucked under her armpit. “Find someone else to run with you!”
“I can’t! They’ll want to win!” Adora says, twisting her body away from Catra. She’s having a slight meltdown over Catra touching her so much, but she’s focusing on the pen for now. “No one’s gonna want to run with me anyway.”
Catra mutters something under her breath that Adora doesn’t catch, then she snakes her hand under Adora’s and takes hold of her wrist. Adora stifles a gasp. “Wait, you don’t want to win?” Catra asks, eyebrow quirked.
“Noooo,” Adora furiously shakes her head. “No, no, no. Glimmer would kill me. She wants to win. I just, um, panicked. I guess?” The heat from Catra’s hand is searing into her wrist.
Catra glances down at their hands and back up at Adora. “So, your friend will kill you if you run for homecoming. And you just signed up in front of her mom?”
“Um...” Adora thinks for a second. “Yes?”
Catra huffs out a laugh. “Wow, you’re even more of an idiot than I remember.”
Adora feels her face redden, shocked at Catra’s casual mention of the past, and glances away. “Look, let’s just get eliminated as quickly as possible and then we can forget it ever happened. Deal?”
“Ugh,” Catra lets out a groan, leaning her head back. She tugs at Adora’s wrist a few times, finding that she isn’t budging. “Fine! As quickly as possible.”
“As quickly as possible,” Adora nods, finding herself grinning as Catra loosens her grip and pulls away. “I’m gonna take this pen home, by the way,” she calls out as Catra begins to head back to her table.
“Fuck!”
After Adora finally pees and refills her water bottle, she gingerly sits back down beside Glimmer. Poor, sweet, deadly Glimmer, who’s chattering away excitedly with Seahawk about some new music video or something.
She says, in a very tiny voice, “So, um...I think I’m running for homecoming queen?”
Glimmer whips her head around, nose flaring. She stands up, slamming both hands down on the table with a smack.
“You WHAT?!”
And then the bell rings.

Break a Nail (Din Djarin x fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
Word Count:  2,061
Warnings: Fluffy fluff. Cursing. There are some sexist undertones towards the reader from a bounty. But it’s mostly just Din and the reader being a cute bounty hunter couple. Grammar and spelling warning, because I’m a dummy who can’t English.
Pairing: Din Djarin x Fem!Reader
a/n: Thank you so much for the request!! Sorry it took so long. It was really fun to write and I really enjoyed it <3 Honestly it was such a fun idea! I enjoy the whole tough in public but soft in private kind of trope that’s going on here.
EDITS: Grammar and spelling. - also another edit to make the fic more inclusive.
The contrast between you on the job and you on the Razor Crest baffled the Mandalorian at times. He didn’t really understand how someone could go from absolutely demolishing men twice their own size, to fretting over their newly painted nails and trying to decide which dress went with what shoes. When out on jobs you dressed and acted like a man, the helmet you wore modulating your voice to sound deeper and more gruff. In public, you were serious and almost stoic. You would radiate confidence in everything you did, whether it be bartering for a better price, shooting a blaster with pinpoint accuracy, or being able to take down men like flies.
The first time he met you he was sure you were a man, there was no doubt in his mind about it. The way you acted, talked, and fought just screamed to him that you were a man. Nothing gave away the fact that you were a woman below those layers of clothes. So, when you first removed your helmet in front of him, he was amazed to see your true self, and was surprised to hear your sweet voice speak to him.
Without the helmet on you instantly changed into another person, your atmosphere turning bubbly and energetic. Gone was the most manly and badass man the Mandalorian had ever met. Instead, a beautiful and kind hearted woman stood in place, looking at him with the biggest smile he’d ever seen. In fairness, both in your get up and out of it, you were still a badass in your own quirky ways. It just so happened that you tended to be more open about your likes and dislikes without your gear on.
He was in love with you within seconds of discovering this about you. Honestly Din couldn’t have fallen in love with you any faster. He fell for you hard and almost instantly. He adored everything about you, both your public and private self. Every aspect of the person you were was spectacular to him, and nothing could change that in his mind.
He loved being around you and would spend most of his time with you. He was happy to see his clan expand with your addition to it. Him, you, and the kid made the perfect little family in his eyes, though he’d never tell you that. Going with you on jobs had turned out to be one of his favourite things. He didn’t know how he had survived doing jobs without you until this point in his life. Every day with you around was interesting and today was no different.
Currently, Din watched as you had dragged the bounty up the Razor Crest ramp, plopping him on the hulls floor before his feet. The asset struggled within his binds, spitting curses and insults in both of your directions. He was surprised at first, at seeing you with the bounty, as you had originally left earlier for the market. Last he checked you were just getting supplies, not dragging a whole man back to the ship.
On another note, the both of you were supposed to be going after him together later that day, after your little supply run. He was mainly surprised because he knew you enjoyed going on jobs with him. You would even refer to the two of you working together on jobs as your ‘couple bonding’ time. So, it was a bit of a shock to see you having ruined your little bounty hunting date by doing the job on your own.
“Fuck you dude.” The man on the ground spat at you in a growl, “You think you’re some sort of hero bringing me in? Huh?”
“No, but I definitely think I’m going to be a hell of a lot richer.” Your reply came, the smirk on your face evident in your voice.
At this point you had pressed your foot into the center of the asset's back, holding him in place, as he pitifully squirmed on the metal floor of the ship. The addition of your weight had stilled him for a moment though, as he glared daggers over his shoulder at you.
Din watched as you removed your helmet, shaking your head while chuckling in the process. It was one of his favourite sights, something he found attractive anytime you did it. He could not explain why seeing you remove your own helmet was so alluring to him, but he chalked it up to the fact that anything you did he saw through rose tinted lenses. There was nothing you could ever do to convince him that you weren’t perfect.
“What the fuck you’re a woman?!” The bounty snarled, his expression wrinkling with anger and confusion. “There’s no way a damn woman captured me.”
Looking down at the man you let out a giggle, “I always love when they realize a woman took them down.” Setting down your helmet, you crouched to level yourself with him, a toothy grin across your cheeks, as you ‘booped’ the man on the nose, beginning to taunt him. This being a normal occurrence that occurred when a bounty was being extra mouthy to you.
“Quit messing with the asset and put him in the carbon freeze.” Din said, putting a stop to your harassment of the man, as funny as it may have been.
At his words, you had turned to look at him with an eyebrow raised. “You want me to put him in the carbon freeze?”
“You brought him back, so yes.”
Letting out an exaggerated sigh, you shook your head and forced a pout in the Mandalorian’s direction, “It’s a shame, but I actually can’t lift him right now, guess you’ll have to do it.” You had said, now standing next to your companion.
The Mandalorian’s head turned to look at you next to him, his eyes narrowing underneath the helmet, “I’ve seen you lift a bounty twice the size of this one.”
“Oh I know. Strength wise I totally can, but I just did my nails earlier you know?” You continued, moving away from him and sitting on one of the crates located in the hull. At this point you had pulled your gloves off to examine your recently done nails, sighing in relief at seeing that they still remained unscathed and painted to perfection.
“You’re kidding.” Din replied, a little more on the irritated side. He was aware that a few hours, before you had left to go into the market, you had decided to redo your nails. So aware in fact, because you had made him help with picking out a colour.
“Kidding? Din what if I chip them? Or worse! What if I break a nail?” You exclaimed to him “It’s already bad enough I had to drag him back here!”
“Is that why it took you so long to get back?”
“Yes!”
He had crossed his arms over his chest at this point, staring down at you intensely. It was the look he’d give to someone when trying to shake them down for information, or for a merchant to lower their prices. To many people, it would strike fear through their bodies and make them quiver in their boots. However, you on the other hand, had grown quite immune to the deadly gaze that your Mandalorian partner possessed. At this point in your time together, not even his most fiercest of looks to throw you off balance.
Seeing that you weren’t letting up under his gaze, he let out a huff and looked back down the bounty. “Why’d you bother painting your nails in the first place?” He asked, titling his head to look down at your coloured nails. “Why do you bother at all honestly?”
You had given him a look of mock shock, a small gasp leaving your lips, “How could I not bother?”
“You can’t see it but I’m rolling my eyes.” He muttered with a sigh, as he went to work freezing the bounty, seeing as he knew you wouldn’t be doing it anytime soon. He may have been acting annoyed with the whole thing, but the truth he really didn’t mind. This man would find a way to move a whole galaxy for you if you had asked him to.
At his remark you had stuck your tongue out him, before watching as the bounty did his best to escape from your Mandalorian lover. The man had begged and pleaded with Din, even apologized for all the nasty things he had said to you on your way back to Razor Crest. A scoff left you at that, with your own roll of the eyes. Of course he apologizes to Din for how he treated you, rather than even bothering to say it to you, a typical asshole thing.
The mandalorian had heard the noise you made in regards to the man's pleas and had paused in thought over it. In truth, he hated how many people would disregard your skill and work as a bounty hunter after learning more about your true self. When he first met you, he didn’t understand why you would parade around as a male bounty hunter. However, the more time he spent working with you, he had begun to understand why you put up such a strong exterior in public. People didn’t take a feminine looking and acting hunter seriously. Instead, they would look down on you for it and would disregard your work almost entirely.
Admittedly, he did enjoy seeing the contrast between your badass self in public and bubbly self in private. It was entertaining in a sense and rather endearing. The thought of others treating you poorly for any part of yourself though had boiled his blood. In other words, he could not understand how anyone could ever mistreat you simply over the things you liked, and hated the idea that you may feel like you had to act the way you did to be taken seriously. Whether you actually felt that way, or just thought it was fun to be the way you wanted, was entirely only known to you.
“Listen I didn’t know she was ya gal! I’m sorry alright?” The man continued his plea, thinking the Mandalorian was starting to reconsider his impending doom, “Listen if I knew she was a woman, your woman, I wouldn’t have messed with her in the first place-”
“-She’s more than just my girl or my woman.” Din cut the man off in a low voice and picked the bounty up by the front of his shirt. “She’s one of the best hunters in the galaxy and she’s the one who took you down. Remember that.”
Those were his last words to the bounty before he had shoved him in the carbon freeze.
“Look at you, getting all angry over a rude bounty for me,” You teased him, watching as he finished up with his task. “I’m not even really mad about it, I’ve heard worse, you know?”
He let out a grunt in reply, “Doesn’t matter. People shouldn’t treat you or act like that around you. You’re one of the most skilled bounty hunters I know.”
“More skilled than you?” You playfully said to him, as he had moved closer to you, until the two of you were toe to toe.
“Hmm, I wouldn’t go that far.” He managed to tease back at you, lightly tapping his forehead against yours.
After his little forehead tap, he took one of your hands into his larger ones. He brought your hand close to his helmet and began to examine your nails up close, almost as if he was admiring your work. His gloved thumb had rubbed smoothly across the inside of your palm, sending shivers down your spine and causing for a wave of heat to flow through your form.
“Your nails do look nice.”
“I know!” A cheeky smile had spread across your cheeks once more, the mischief within its depth drawing him into your words, “You should let me paint yours~”
He let out a small chuckle at your teasing remark, a smile etching across his features that you couldn’t see, but knew was there from his posture alone. He let go of your hand so he could remove a glove from his own, holding his bare hand out before you, palm down.
“What colour do you think would suit me best?”

Okay, get this: a new lov member who’s really awkward and shy. Everyone thinks she’s just a normal gal but it turns out she’s absolutely out of her mind? /sigh/ I don’t even know anymore 😔 rip. I’m so bad at requesting it should be my new party trick. Anyways, I hope you have a good day and I love your writing!!
Ahh thank you! :) I’m not sure if you wanted this to be cute or disturbing so I went with the latter because nothing I’ve posted so far is dark themed (all my stuff is like, fluff haha)! :0 Let’s get some well rounded writing up in here!
New LOV member who’s secretly insane
Warnings: DARK THEMES that include but are not limited to: Blood, dead animals, disturbing images, cannibalism, death, hearing voices, sadism/masochism, violence, mentions of self-harm etc. etc. You get the picture.
^^^Don’t read if you’re sensitive to similar topics. I went ham on this, yall.
Disclaimer: The reader depicted in this is chronically insane and is an extreme case. This is in no way a depiction of a person with a mental disorder. I don’t want to spread any misinformation, most people with mental disorders are lovely people and are not crazy/dangerous in anyway
Under the cut vvv
Tomura Shigaraki:
Look, he wasn’t a fan of the whole awkward-shy act, but hey, you were pretty hot and you had a quirk that the League definitely needed
So he let you in, figuring he’d just need to have that timid attitude of yours whipped out of you
But OH. It didn’t take long for him to realize you were completely bonkers.
Dabi was giving you shit like he did everyone, and all it took was a poor comment on his part for your usually pleasant expression to contort into one of malice and...joy? The way your face darkened and your eyes swirled with an unhinged gleam…
Maybe you’d be more interesting than he initially thought~ plus, seeing you threaten Dabi was definitely some brownie points in Tomura’s book
At times it gets frustrating because you can get out of hand, and he honestly couldn’t even handle the League WITHOUT another crazy added in the mix
But you were powerful and an important addition to the team, so you were stuck with this sorry lot whether you liked it or not
Kurogiri:
He was a little surprised, but pleasantly so, when Tomura recruited you for the League. You were actually...rather normal compared to the rest of the bunch, but he was far from complaining!
You were also modest and well-mannered, and Kurogiri especially admired that. The rest of the League was full of squabbling hotheads, so you were a breath of fresh air!
At the bar, he’d talk a lot with you seeing as you were one of the calmer villains, but overtime he noticed that certain comments would raise a few red flags.
One day you bring in the mangled body of a cat and...oh.
The way you casually set it on the bar counter and grin at Kurogiri happily while you ask for a kiddy cocktail… all the while your hands were still soaked in its blood.
Tomura’s decision made a bit more sense now. You were completely off your rocker! He treats you pretty much the same as before, but is usually the one who has to reel you in when you start to show your crazy too much.
Dabi:
When you first joined the League, he couldn’t believe it. Was Tomura fucking stupid? How could a shy, pretty thing like you possibly fit in with the baddest villain organization?
Needless to say, he was kind of an asshole to you. He’d make rude comments, blatantly say you didn’t belong here, condescendingly give you names like “princess”
For the most part you would bear it all with a grin, and though he didn’t exactly understand you reaction, he would scoff and roll his eyes. “Weirdo”
One day he happens to strike a particularly strong chord with you, and suddenly you’ve shoved him against a wall, hands wrapped around his throat
You choking him wasn’t what off put him. It was the demented look in your eyes and the lopsided grin overwhelming your face. You were practically begging him to insult you again.
“It feels soooo good when you call me names!” you giggle, fingers squeezing into his neck. “Maybe you can choke me next?!” Your eyes were excited at the sadistic thought.
He shoves you off rather easily after he gets over his initial surprise, rubbing his neck. “Crazy bitch…”
The fact that he didn’t ignite your crazy ass on the spot means you’d gained his respect, if in the slightest. Clearly you’re a better fit to be a villain than he thought. He still picks on you, but significantly less.
Himiko Toga:
She was excited to have another girl! She flocked straight to you and grabbed your sleeve right away!
“Aiiya! You’re so cute, look at you!” She poked your cheeks and you got a little flustered under the attention. She thinks you’re so shy and adorable!!!!
She makes it her mission to become your bestest best friend! But she can’t help but get a little excited from time to time.
“(Y/n), you’re too cute! Please, can I cut you up!? Just a few slices here and there! You’d look ten times cuter if I do!” And she’s grinning.
Her grin completely falters, however, when you agree. “W-What?” she didn’t expect it at all! She was used to getting brushed off.
But no...the crazed look in your eye at the mention of spilled blood… you were practically dripping with insanity.
Kurogiri stopped the both of you before you both had the chance to completely slice each other up, but from that moment on your were pretty much conjoined at the hip.
Crazy cuties flock together
Spinner:
When a cute, shy thing like yourself joined the League, he was a total flustered mess! You were absolutely adorable!
Like Kurogiri, you were a breath of fresh air, a nice change of pace to the usually colorful bunch that he got to hang around with.
You were nice to him, and he always gets embarrassed when you compliment him! So naturally he assumes that you’re the sweetheart of the bunch!
You’re talking, and finally Spinner outright asks you, “How’d you even get roped into villainy?” because it blows his mind such a normie like you are in the League
And, very casually and chipper, you describe how you murdered your family in cold blood. They hadn’t even done anything to upset you. You just wanted to.
“O-Oh.” He honestly didn’t know what to say...but he didn’t really get a chance to speak as you suddenly pull a necklace out from under your shirt. It was a strange looking thing, a shriveled black lump on a string.
“Look! I even carry a piece of them around with me!” His eyes widen, and you just giggle and tuck the petrified piece of corpse jewelry back into your shirt.
Twice:
Needless to say, Twice had some mixed feelings about you when you first joined the League.
“What the hell is such a prude bitch doing in the League?” “Aww how cute! Finally a fresh face! Happy to meet you!”
He’s honestly probably the first to realize you’re absolutely batshit because he’s always half doubting your sincerity
Let’s just say he isn’t surprised when you’re on a mission and you start gnawing and eating at a fresh corpse on the ground
“Wow, that’s fucking bad ass” “Ew!!! That’s disgusting, what the fuck!”
And hearing his voices go back and forth, you just look up, blood smeared across your face, a strange gleam in your eye and you grin!
“Hahaha! Twice, you always say the funniest things!!!”
After the mission he tries to avoid you as much as he can. Though your quirk and tenacity was something the League definitely benefited from, that didn’t mean he wanted to be anywhere near you after the shit he saw that night
You were fucking wild
Mr. Compress
After Shigaraki let you into the League, he was pretty interested in you. You seemed pretty average and you acted like a timid civilian, so what kind of quirk did you have? Surely something must have caught Tomura’s eye that he wasn’t seeing.
So he, being the man of charisma and mystery that he was, made it his secret motive to find out what you were hiding.
He took it upon himself to show you around the hideout as your own personal guide. Not that you were complaining! Compress is so flashy and entertaining that you were actually enjoying your time with him.
Not gonna lie, he was acting a little too charming and over-confident with you, trying to get you to slip up and spill a secret
And spill you did! Though not intentionally. It sort of all happened at once. Compress was moving ahead of you and all of a sudden he was thrown back against the wall.
He hits it with a grunt and slides down to the floor, looking up at you with a stunned expression. What the fuck did he do to merit that?!
But you weren’t even looking at him. No, you were whispering under your breath, staring at the ceiling and grinning like a madman.
“You’re right! That was fun!” you spoke to the empty room, pausing a moment before letting out a loud, crazy laugh. “You always were good at jokes!”
Slowly he rose and moved away from the room where you stood conversing with your imaginary voices.
Telekinesis was a pretty powerful quirk! Though it seemed your perks also came with some hefty flaws… very interesting!
Magne:
Magne was so excited to have another girl in the League! She loved Toga, of course, but at times Magne found her to be a bit...much
So when you first arrived, seemingly normal, she was so ecstatic! She wanted to do all sorts of girl things with you that she couldn’t really do often in the boy-dominated League
You were so cute and timid, she couldn’t help but want to have a girl’s sleepover with you and Toga!
Your true colors started to show, however, during the middle of a truth or dare game. Magne had asked you what your favorite crime to commit was, expecting something calmer like robbery or identity theft
Color her surprised when your face contorts into the craziest, most terrifying look as you narrate a violent murder and proceed to grab a pillow and rip it to shreds with your hands as a ‘demonstration’.
Cute AND violently psycho. She can roll with that.

Since you are a small kid, they tell you that you will have to find work when you will grow up. You are prepared for that ’work’ since you’re a little kid. What had you thought? That they are making you visit the kindergarten because they want you to have fun? Only to find some friends that you can have all-life-lasting memories and friendships with? For you to have cute photos in costumes on your fridge?
If you did, then think again - the system prepares you to go to that work since you’re a small kid. Then, there’s an elementary school, high school, and college. Just to make you prepared. Just to make you work for the system.
Maybe you want to be a lawyer? No, you have to be smart for that - you’ll be a cashier for that. You want to be a police officer? Dear, you’re too fat for that - you can work as a cook, maybe? Yeah. That’s the fucked up society and system we are all a part of.
That’s how it works.
But soon, you learn that there are one or two ways how to fuck the system up, so you could bring some chaos to it. Black marketing, for example. White meat trafficking and prostitution. And, of course, the one we all know really well about - drug dealing.
And since your boyfriend and his small best friend were the biggest distributors for your small American suburb, you naturally came across that. You started to notice how it usually goes - they come on a party or onto the gas station and the hand each other the things so fast, that you don't even have the time to notice if you’re not paying attention.
Usually, it looks like a handshake between two people who haven’t seen each other in a long time - but one had the small package of, most likely, weed, coke or something like LSD and the second person has cash rolled in their hands. They shake hands - dealer handles the drug, takes the cash. Not a big deal.
Sometimes you even see small iron boxes around the city - Fezco took the money and left the material there. And to be honest, there was a shit load of them. Or just leave it on places which would never appeal to anyone as suspicious while the money was waiting for Fezco out there - dull books in a full bookshelf, an empty tube of pills, under a specified stone... These tactics were previously agreed by both sides and usually performed at parties when the two couldn’t meet from eyes to eyes.
But to be honest, the funniest for you was the pocket change, as Ash called it. It sounded less suspicious then. That was when the dealer and the other party met, but tried to be less suspicious - like on a street or something. The dealer came next to the buyer, shoved his hand up the buyer’s pants into one of the pockets which are previously specified to be ’the ONE’ and leaves the drug there while taking the money out.
Let’s just say that you were able to learn a lot of Fezco’s tactics. As time passed and you saw them more and more times, you were pretty sure that you could perform at least one of them on your own. And that how Ashtray thought as well.
"Hey, baby girl." - He grinned when you enter the shop and put his Snickers bar away to perform a handshake ended up with a fistbump with you. You just ended at school and immediately went to the shop to show Fezco an exam you totally nailed. He was excited for you because he never was as good in exams as you were and he was fucking proud of his baby girl. You were definitely a genius in your boyfriend's eyes.
"Baby girl? That's a new level for us, little kid." - You jumped onto the counter, so you sat there and wiggled your legs from side to side while chewing on gum.
"Heard it from his bedroom while ya weren't here. Bet his hands were occupied at that moment." - Ashtray grinned and snored while talking of that and this thought made you cringe like hell. Jerking off while thinking about you? Definitely hot and cute. Making Ash aware? Pure idiocy.
"How you even are? I haven't talked to you in days." - You looked at him as he sipped some Gatorade or what.
"Ya know da drill, the business somehow rolls, we survivin'." - He nodded, but his face got more serious than before. - "Havin' a problem with a package lately. Kinda thought ya might be willin' to help us?"
"How could I help you with package delivery? Ashtray, that's dumb even for you." - You bickered back, but your smile faded away as none showed up on his serious face.
"Simply. Snuggling into the school's toilettes." - He shook his head as if you were completely dumb. You. You smuggling drugs. You smuggling drugs into school. Holy shit, that boy went officially crazy.
"Ash." - Fez's voice could be heard before you he entered the shop with the back entrance. He was looking tired as hell... Your poor baby boy. Such a cuddly kitten he was when he was tired like that. - "I told ya dat we ain't discussin' dat shit. Hi, babe." - Fezco came in to hug you and kiss your cheek. He stayed like that for a fairly long time before kissing your neck.
"And I told ya that Mouse will kick ma motherfuckin' ass if that package doesn't disappear. It a load and it's fuckin' huge. Expansive. It costs at least 200, maybe 300. It depends on how I'll be feelin'." - Ashtray answered seriously.
"Slow down. Both of you. First off, who the fuck is Mouse?" - You asked and made Fezco back up a bit. He would make you less concentrated with his nuzzling and neck kisses. Ashtray got up and took three different packs of gum.
There was a menthol flavor on the top, melon under it and the bubblegum flavor on the bottom. You looked at him with raised eyebrows and Ash just held a hand in front of him to tell you that you have to wait a bit until he'll tell you the conclusion.
"Look at it like dat, honey." - He told nonchalantly and you nodded, still keeping Fezco one feet away from you. - "The menthol ones are da best, so they on the top. Then there are the melon ones because of their good but not da best. And she bubblegum are just not dat good. Ya with me?" - Ashtray looked at you and you nodded.
"So. Mouse is da menthol flavor because he keeps deliverin' da shit to deal. We da melon ones. We sell to people. Which are da bubblegum flavor? This is sort of an analogy." - You leaned into the counter and smiled at you. You exhaled loudly as you finally understood.
"So, when I put into normal language." - You rose your finger while you looked at his gum analogy and hierarchy. - "Mouse is producing your material, whoever it is. You buy if from him and you sell it to other people. Am I right?"
"Honey lemme tell ya that ya a smart gal." - Ashtray smile got even wider and he went to put the gums back.
"And you two have a package which is huge and expansive and you need only a delivery service, right?" - You rose your eyebrows and Fezco broke the distance for the first time and held your hand firmly.
"Babe, I don't want to get ya involved into dis shit." - Fezco whispered into your ear and gave you a look from his fucking long lashes. His baby blue eyes were worried.
"Dat's right. Fez and I only need a delivery service. Ya up? We'll give you a little somethin' for takin' the risk." - Ashtray smiled at you. Something was tempting you to do it.
It was wrong, definitely. But it had to be adrenaline. It would be risky and you would go to rehab or straight to jail if somebody would catch you. It was on the borderline of crazy. You were putting your dignity and your sane mind into the stakes.
But also, your boyfriend and his little friend were in trouble. And it sounded like serious trouble if someone would ask you. Some guy, probably a gangster, would kick their asses if they didn't sell it.
"I can ask Rue if ya can't do it." - Ashtray smiled and smoothed your hand gently. - "I would get it."
"Don't be stupid, Ash. Rue is having her backpack searched through and they keep an eye on her since her OD. Jules is watched as well." - You exhaled loudly and you could feel Fezco's look directly on you. He didn't agree with your forming decision. You could feel the tension between the two of you. There will be an argument afterward between you, you were one hundred percent sure of it.
"Yeah. I told myself da same thing." - Ashtray nodded.
"How... How would that go?" - You turned more to look into Ashtray's face. - "I mean... No fucking way that they wouldn't notice drugs in my fucking backpack."
"Oh, I see, gal." - Astray went away for a minute.
"Y/N... I tell ya that I don't want ya to even come close to ma or Ashe's business. Back off." - Fezco begged for quietly and you took his face into yours, so you kissed him.
"You can't tell me what should I do and what shouldn't I do. I can decide on my own because I have a brain. Don't be afraid, okay?" - You smiled at Fezco.
Oh, how did he loved that you're your own girl? That you have your own brain and that you never let him dictate you anything - but sometimes, it was the serious pain in his arse.
Than Ash came back with a big package. It wasn't like... Extremely huge, but it was slightly bigger than your own palm. It was impossible for you to just snuggle it into school without someone noticing it.
"I see ya scared face. But lemme explain how it works." - Ash put the package in front of you. It was pretty full and heavy - someone needed a fucking load. You looked at Ash while Fezco was still looking at you with his disapproving look. - "I'll be waitin' under a window in da bio lab. You'll go through da checkpoint. They will believe ya dat yo backpack is clean. Ya will take it from me. After dat, ya will snuggle it onto da toilettes. The last one with broken top and with 'Maddy Perez bites cocks'. Ya leave it there. Take da money. Dat all."
"And I will bring you the money after school?" - You rose your eyebrows. It sounded pretty simple to you. It could be fast in and out.
"Exactly." - Ashtray looked at Fezco. - "Ya ladybug is not only pretty but smart too."
"And she won't be doin' dis shit. Leave her fuckin' out." - Fezco almost broke his teeth from gripping it together as hard as he did.
"I can help you, baby. This sounds easy." - You smiled at both of them.
So were in and opened for business. You joined their little gang, you were part of the drug cartel. And it felt badass.
When you rode into the school that morning, you were as paranoid as ever. Almost like the first day at school. You felt like everyone was watching you, talking about you. That morning's check out for guns or drugs in your bag felt itchy. Almost funny. They knew you're one of the good kids, so they just quickly checked your bag and gave it back, wishing you a good day.
Rue was watching her with a furrow. She knew that you're about to do something. But you didn't want to tell her what. She had a feeling that it is something almost extremely stupid, but you just didn't talk to her.
Ashtray was on the spot on time which was determined the very morning before when Fezco was taking you to school because Fran had to leave early. you only opened up the window and shoved the things inside your bag. But then your stomach almost made you throw up because the classroom opened up. Your hand was still in the bag, holding the package and you almost shit yourself on the spot.
You needed to calm down as soon as you could to think of some good reason why you were in an empty class before school even started.
"Oh, miss Y/L/N." - Mrs. Garner walked into the class with her folder pressed to her boobs in her typical black jeans. She was a bio teacher and she was a great one. She was sensitive, nice to her students, positive and just overall nice. Every time a problem, you could come to her and tell her. - "Nice to see you here. Looking out of the window, watching photosynthesis? Nice."
Mrs. Garner liked you and she wasn't suspecting a single shitty thing about you in an empty classroom next to an opened window. You were a good student, you always answered in her classes. You were smart as well, giving her some good questions. She liked you.
But you thought that you're fucked. You closed your eyes and tried to calm yourself down, but you couldn't. Your cheeks reddened and you almost threw up her new Nike sneakers. Did she see anything? Did she see the drugs? Had she seen Ash running away from the window? Holy fuck. God may help you.
"I had just... Forgave something here. Sorry for not telling you, miss. Also, the air was kinda stuck in here, so I thought I will let in some fresh air in here before your first class." - You closed up your backpack and shoved your fists into your hoodie so she couldn't see how you nervously played with your fingers and how sweaty your palms were. You tried to smile at her, but it felt fake.
Miss Garner didn't seem to notice as she smiled at you and slowly smoothed your shoulder.
"I swear to God that you're one of the best students I ever had." - She looked at her watch before smiling at you again. - "You should go before the class starts."
And how gladly did you run off all sweaty? You were about to faint when you reached your English class. Rue was furrowing her look at you, asking you what's up silently. You weren't looking good at all. You waved her off and sat on your seat. There you rapping your feet at a fast pace.
What now? What's the next move? What should you do? You sat through half of the class as a body without a soul. But then it hit you. Toilettes. You throwing up. Pretend to be sick.
"Sir!" - You yelled through the whole class and stood up. You looked like a mess with a really bad fl, sweaty and pale as the classroom’s wall. - "I think I'm gonna puke." - And with that, he basically let you run out of class without a question; your throat made a similar sound to when you were puking and your teacher did not really want to be puked on. That was easy. So now, you had to find the fucking toilette, leave it there, take the money and leave.
Finding a cab which had 'Maddy Perez bites cocks' all over it, sprayed in green color, wasn't that hard - everyone knew that toilette. But you couldn't get in whatever the fuck was with it. You tried everything; your own hands, power, kicking it off, nothing helped. You almost cried. You didn't want to be caught with a shit ton of drugs in your backpack.
But at the moment, you didn't know what else outside a breakdown you should do.
"Hey, shithead." - Rue's voice echoed through the empty toilettes. She was walking slowly and her footsteps were louder and louder. You tried to stop crying, but you were too fucked up to even take the mucus off with a Cleanex.  - "Hey. What's up?" - Rue asked, opening the cab door slowly and walking into the cab to kneel beside you.
She wanted to ask you if you're ok, but she only smoothed your shoulder and then she stopped herself. Oh, so that was why you were so weird since the very morning. Then she looked at the toilette, at you and almost slapped herself on the spot.
Of course, Rue knew what is happening in the very cab. She started with that cache when she was in the freshman year and she couldn't meet with Fez face to face. A lot of people in the eleventh grade took it as a good opportunity to get some cash.
"Fuckin' Ash. Keeps forget to tell ’em about the lock on the back of da tank." - She rolled her eyes and leaned behind the toilette, opening the tank up with skilled hands. She giggled and showed you her slim palm. You just watched it with a frightened face.
"Gimme da package." - She ordered and so you did. She laughed when she saw how many materials were in there and how much it weighed in her hand. Then she gave you the money in a waterproof sack, stuffed the drugs inside and closed the toilette again, locking it on the other side.
She sat there on the other side of the cab, there was barely space for that, your legs were entwined and you just quickly and silently shoved the bag with money into the depths of your backpack.
“Yo first time doin’ dat?” - Rue smiled a bit at you and she looked pretty relaxed. She wasn't even a bit upset about you smuggling drugs or your cab breakdown - she was just happy. - “Mine secret cache. A lot of da older kids know about it, but I had started it here when times were bad.” - She smiled and smoothed your leg.
“My first time doing this and certainly the last doing it. I could have been fucked if not for you.” - You finally calmed down a bit, since you had only money in your bag now, cleaning up your face with a tissue.
“Yeah. But da better thin’?” - Rue stood up and offered you her hand. - “Ya look so terribly that Mr. Smith told me to take ya home when I find you. He doesn't want a student with flu in his class, he's too afraid that he might catch it too.”
“So I can give Ash the money ASAP and finally take a deep breath in.” - You stood up and she hugged you, smoothing your hair quietly.
“Tell me ya won’t fall into da trap me and Fez are in.” - She took your face into her palms. Oh dear lord, she was about to cry, her lips curling down. - “Promise me that yo gonna stay the fuck out, baby.”
“Yeah. I can fucking you promise that.” - You mumbled and shoved your face into her neck as you both stood there and cried. You were holding her tightly; even if nothing happened basically, your nerves were on the top of stress. This... Everything was biting your ass and all you wanted was to really go home, lay in bed and forget about all that day.
Rue and you decided to really go out of the school. You didn't want to be there because you knew that nothing that would the professors say would catch your attention. So you visited your friend in the reception room who wrote you and Rue the permits to leave school and then, you rode down on her bike, you sitting on the spot for the bags.
For a small moment, you felt free. Completely free and careless. You were glad for this experience - at least, you were able to determine that you'll never do any of it again. It was just not worth it for a person like you.
Since the day you've been born, everyone saw as the good girl. As the nice one who helps people, who are there to listen when they got a problem, to help them with their ailments. Stuff like this, stuff in which was Fezco and Ash lived in was not a world for you to live in.
You weren't as strong as they were. Your nerves could barely handle the stress of being caught. You almost fucked up two times - even if you only had to deliver the package in a radius of thirty meters.
You gave Ash the money, firmly put it onto the wood and gazed on him with a dead look in your eyes.
"Don't you ever dare to make me do it one more time. I almost puked, I almost shitted myself and no amount of money is worth to end up in jail. No, thank you." - You shook your head and Ash smiled quietly at you as Rue put her bottle next to the counter.
"Got it. I know dat dis isn't da work for everyone, but you saved my and Fezzy's ass." - He gave you fifty dollars from the package payment. - "For risking yo ass. And you can get somethin' for free today." - He left the shop and Rue made her puppy eyes on you.
She wanted the cherry soda you took there on your first visit to the shop. So you nodded and left. You wanted to be as far from Ash as you could.

— “now we all know she is not what you’d call touchy-feely. she doesn’t say I love you like a normal person. Instead, she’ll laugh, shake her head, give you a little smile and say, ‘you’re an idiot’. if she tells you you’re an idiot, you are a lucky man.” - how i met your mother
MANNERISMS:
What words or phrases do they overuse?
dude, man, COME ON, and my kid.
Are they more optimistic or pessimistic?
she’s definitely a glass half empty kind of gal, but she owns it.
What bad habits do they have?
pushing people away, using humour to deflect from feelings, chewing straws (which is why she won’t do metal), using her kid to get out of doing things, swearing at bad drivers, NOT RETURNING TEXTS.
What makes them laugh out loud?
animals videos and seeing people wipe out. also her kid is pretty funny.
How do they display affection?
doing things for people, giving them dumb nicknames, letting them into her space for any length of time -- she doesn’t do mush.
Do they make snap judgements or take time to consider?
she’s typically pretty level headed about things, she’s got a kid and her decisions effect him so she likes to think things through but can be super impulsive when she’s pissed. which is why ollie’s dad isn’t in their life.
How do they react to praise?
depends on the day -- some days praise is weird and she doesn’t know how to take it, others she’ll be right there with you agreeing and pointing out her awesomeness.
How do they react to criticism?
again, depends on the day and what is being criticized. she’s got pretty thick skin so criticism of most of her work (personal songs are another story!!) and her looks, but don’t make fun of her kid or she will destroy you.
What is their philosophy of life?
life’s too short to eat kale smoothies.
When was the last time they cried?
when she and ollie watched the movie frozen ii, and she would appreciate it very much if you didn’t bring it up tyvm!!
If they could change one thing about themselves, what would it be?
eh, she’s pretty great, nothing to change!!
What is their obsession?
she was pretty into game of thrones until they messed up the last season.
What are their pet peeves?
honestly? soooo manny!! those moms that are like obsessed with their kids and have zero life outside of them especially grind her gears.
FRIENDS&FAMILY:
Is their family big or small? Who does it consist of?
it’s not huge but it’s not tiny either and consists of her mom ( martha ), two older brothers ( jason and robert) and her son ( oliver ). her father ( frank ) left when she was pretty young so we don’t talk about him and her baby daddy was never given the chance to be one so he’s not really family.
What is their perception of family?
eh? she loves hers best from a distance. she gets along with her brothers fine but even as adults they are liable to wind up in a wrestling match if left alone too long. her mom comes to visit two weeks a year and it is both the best and worst time of the year.
Do they have siblings? Older or younger?
two older brothers.
Describe their best friend.
cool enough to put up with her bullshit, caring enough to call her out on it.

nurtured, martha allen is mom goals, just don’t tell her aves said so.

cheesy as it sounds, her kid. but hearing her music on the radio is a close second.

LOVE:
Do they believe in love at first sight?
no. not even a little. she’s not even sure she believes in romantic love anymore.
Are they in a relationship? Are they in love?
no, most of her relationships end when her partner realizes it’s not going anywhere bc she refuses to introduce them to her kid.
How do they behave in a relationship?
very casual, sexy meetings at their place and then sneaking home before ollie’s up.
When did your character last have sex?
maybe a month ago? she’s getting pretty grumpy about it.
Has your character ever been in love?
totally, but she won’t admit it.
Have they ever had their heart broken?
1000%, but again good luck getting it out of her.

Can I bug you for a story where Dan finally works up the nerve to ask the reader out and their first date is a total disaster? And Dan feels really bad because he just likes her so much but she has to reassure him that she likes him too and she had a good time? (I don’t know why, but I just think it’s really cute when things go wrong on dates
A/N: You can absolutely bug me for a story, lovely ! Especially one like this. I’m always up for taking requests - some just tend to take a little longer than others to fill because I work from the bottom up in my ask box. This fill was originally written for the holiday season, so I hope it’s okay. ♡ I know it’s way late, but I really love how this one turned out, because I love the request so much. Thank you for sending it in; heart you !
SUGAR COOKIE KISS
Crunching through the freshly-fallen snow, you made your way up the short path to the front door adorned with a very festive wreath. As you got closer you could smell honey and pine wafting through the door, making your stomach grumble and a small smile play at your painted lips. Normally you didn’t do holiday parties and the like, but it was a work gathering, according to the text you got from Arin a few days ago. Plus everyone had been talking about it in the office, how excited they were to just have a day to hang out and binge on good food and not worry about anything. That sentiment rang true for you as well, the last month of cramming for the holiday season having gotten to you at least once. But now, as you knocked on the door, you were ready to put that all behind you.The door opened to reveal, much to your surprise, Dan, wearing oven mitts and his hair tied back in a low ponytail. With raised eyebrows, your smile growing, you offered a simple, “Hey”, which made him reply in an equally simple, but much more excited-sounding, “Hey!” A beat, then, “C’mon in. You caught me just as I rotated the ham.” That would explain the honey scent.Stepping inside, you noticed how cozy it was, how very…“Wait, is this… Your place?” you asked, eyebrows raising, the thought of getting to be in Dan’s house, seemingly all by yourself, making your stomach get just a little fluttery. “It is, yeah.” He was retreating back to the kitchen, so you followed. “But you don’t celebrate Christmas,” you replied, suddenly lost but not losing the smile. “You’re, like, Jewish as hell.” He chuckled. “I am.” His simplicity in his answers was making you even more confused. “But you have a wreath on your door?” Give me something, man! “Oh, yeah. I did that for you.”Well, that was something, you supposed.“For me?” you repeated, blinking. “Yeah. I know you celebrate Christmas, so I wanted to make you feel more comfortable,” he explained, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. It was definitely sweet, you’d give him that. “Since it’s just gonna be you and me tonight-” Flip went your stomach, and not in a good way.
Hands came up, begun waving. “Whoa whoa whoa, wait. What?” Dan popped up, stood straight, and looked at you with slightly-widened eyes. “I thought this was a company thing.” His features morphed quickly from confusion to panic. “Oh no - I thought - Arin was supposed to tell you it was you and me -” He was stumbling over his words, tossing off the mitts and approaching you. Pulling out your phone, you found the texts, re-reading them.“Oh.” No, he was right. You just read wrong. Arin had said it was a party, but dress like a date, because it’d be just the two of you. How did you get company party from something so obviously a set-up? Dan peeked at the screen, breathing out through his nose. “I’m so sorry,” he conceded after a moment, voice gentle, guilty. “I should’ve just done it myself, it would’ve saved us all of this…” He looked to the oven. “It was sort of a… I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now, and I know Christmas is, y’know, cute and romantic to some girls…” He was floundering, about to drown in his own guilt. The holiday season wasn’t exactly romantic, for you, but you reached out, put your hand on his arm. “Danny, it’s okay.” He looked back to you. “Is this a date?” Just to make it clear. “I wanted it to be, yeah,” he answered, honesty just barely masking his disappointment. He thinks I’m going to leave. “Then it’s a date.” There was nothing for a moment, then a gentle, sweet smile, a silent thanks wrapped in.Moving to where he was, you asked, “So, anything I can help with?” Looking at him, you both smiled. “Well, you can give me some recommendations on what you like for sides,” he offered, coming to your side. “Mashed potatoes are a classic. And I have butter garlic.” He nudged you, a silly attempt at tempting you, making you laugh a bit and nudge him back. “I like mashed potatoes. And some kind of vegetable?” He nodded. “Corn or green beans?” He held up the two different cans. “Oh, green beans,” you answered easily. “Really? I took you for more of a corn gal.”The two of you got to work on the fixings, time ticking by without much mind. All the while, you and Dan talked, got to know each other past the surface-level niceties, the butterflies erupting every time you touched each other. Hands handing things to each other, shoulders bumping, nothing obvious but also not nothing, you knew there were so many girls who dreamed of doing something so simple and sweet with him. And here you were.
Once the two sides were finished, he handed you the prepped bowls and asked, “Take these to the table?” You nodded, one bowl in each hand, taking them out to the small coffee table he had in between his TV setup and seating arrangement. Just as you set the glassware down, you heard a familiar voice curse out loud. Head whipping to the look at the doorway, you quickly went back to investigate the reason.Dan was pulling out a very charred-looking hunk of something, and you caught just a faint whiff of something sweet. Honey. Your whole face contorted into a sort of secondhand guilt. It was the ham. “Crap - Shit - Crap -” He waved his hand in front of his face, black curls of smoke coming from the meat gently wafting up. That’s when he caught sight of you, and there was a quick flash of a number of different emotions across his face. Embarrassment, guilt, shame, defensiveness, vulnerability... “I’m so sorry.” He was saying that quite a bit tonight, but this time it was so much more mournful. “I thought the honey was gonna be okay...” You walked into the kitchen, around the little counter above the stove, and stopped no more than an armslength from Danny. “This was supposed to be Christmas dinner. Y’know, like all the stories and stuff.” The sadness flipped, quick like a switch. “What am I gonna do? I screwed this up, and I screwed up dessert and I-”“Wait, there was dessert?” He looked at you, suddenly sheepish. “Yeah, I uh - I made cookies. Sugar cookies.” Quickly, he added, “But I way overcooked them, so now they’re about as edible as a hockey puck.” That didn’t matter to you, though, you realized. It was just the fact that he had even tried. So badly you wanted to call him baby, kiss him and hold him; tell him it was okay and you still loved him and everything would be okay. Love? The thought made you blink. Strong word. You didn’t really know him, but... Huh. Maybe you could love him.
Closing the distance slowly, you put both your hands on his cheeks and lifted his face to lock eyes with him. Dark brown met yours, swimming with uncertainty, and you said, gently, “Danny.” You wanted him here in this moment, because your feelings were quickly bubbling up, and you weren’t about to stop them. “The fact that you put all this money and time and effort into making dinner for me, for Christmas, is one of the sweetest things anyone’s ever done for me.” A corner of his mouth twitched upward in a sort of yeah, okay, sure sort of way. “I like you. So much,” you continued. “This has actually been a lot of fun. Domestic dinner dates are super cute, to me.” A little one-shouldered shrug, and it got a soft chuckle out of him. “Don’t beat yourself up, okay? I am so happy I’m here, and that you made this a date,” you finished. smiling reassuringly, leaning in just a bit to make sure he caught your eyes again. In that moment, you realized just how close you were, where your hands were, and that your face felt just a tad warmer than it did before. That, at least, could be attributed to the smoking hot ham on the stove, but everything else? That was all you. Part of you knew that you should’ve taken your hands off his cheeks, let him go, and helped him clean up. Having green beans and mashed potatoes for dinner wouldn’t be so bad.Yet instead, you leaned in and kissed him, soft and sweet and just a bit hoping. When his hands found your waist, the butterflies exploded from your stomach and through your entire body.

Golden Girl
Tumblr media
Requested by: Me bitches
Summary: It’s your first Golden Globes and Harry wants to be the supportive little bean of a boyfriend he is, but doesn’t want to take the attention away from your big night.
Warnings: PURE ADORABLE FLUFF, swearing, you’ll probably fall even harder in love with harry styles after this fic too
Here’s an aesthetic based off this fic!
When you first found out about your golden globes nomination you went through a vast arrange of emotions.
The first was surprise.
The second was extreme happiness, obviously. It was your first award nomination, well, ever. And it wasn’t just any award - it was the golden fucking globes.
The third and final emotion you felt was probably the strongest - pure and unbridled terror.
You’d literally only done one red carpet before this one, and it was for the film you’d been nominated for. You were not a great public speaker, and were certainly not equipped to handle having cameras shoved in your face or socialising with legendary actors and actresses.
In your mind, you weren’t famous at all. You were just a girl from New York who had somehow managed to land a lead role in a film. Hell, you’d only been acting for two years! All you’d done before this film was work as an extra in a few films, the biggest one being Dunkirk, and a few tv shows as a minor character.
Then all of a sudden your movie blew up, talk of Oscar nominations were being thrown around and all of a sudden everyone seemed to care about who *yn* *yln* was. It was a total whirlwind, one second it seemed like you were walking down the street completely unnoticed and the next you couldn’t even leave your house without being bombarded with cameras and questions.
“I can’t do this.” You had affirmed as you paced around the living room of your apartment. “I’ll just say I’m sick and can’t go, I won’t win anyway so there’s no point of me being there! Yeah that’ll work! Ok I’ll ring my agent and-”
“Would yeh just sit down for a minute love? Yeh making my head spin.”
You paused mid ramble and turned to your boyfriend, Harry, who was sitting on the couch observing you. “Sit down? Yeah right ok, I can do that.” You mumbled, sitting down beside him stiffly.
Oh yeah, you were also dating the Harry Styles. Yeah, you had no idea how that happened either. Never would have you thought in your wildest dreams that being an extra in Dunkirk would end up with you dating one of the most famous singers in the world.
“Jus’- take a deep breath ok.” He chuckled lightly, placing his large hands over your fidgeting ones. “C’mon, with me.” He guided, inhaling deeply with you, holding it for a few moments before releasing.
“I know you’re nervous love, but you’re going to be fine.” He spoke softly.
“Easy for you to say! How many interviews, awards shows and red carpets have you done!” You exclaimed. “Your right, but I had to have my first one too y’know. Got so nervous before my first award show I threw up beforehand.”
“You? You were nervous?” You reiterated in disbelief. You couldn’t believe the man sitting before you, who literally oozed confidence and sex appeal, had been nervous about an award show.
“Still do sometimes. Nearly shat myself before the Dunkirk premiere.” He explained which made you giggle lightly.
“You’re smart, funny and sexy, you’re gonna be totally fine.” He continued as he brushed his thumb over your hand comfortingly. “You deserve this nomination love, just as much as every other actress in that category. You probably deserve it even more, but I’m a little bias.” He spoke which made you smile softly.
“You’re too smooth for your own good, Styles.” You shook your head before leaning in and kissing him thankfully. Harry hummed into your mouth in appreciation and you felt your heart flutter as his stubble brushed against your chin.
“Come with me.” You mumbled, once you’d pulled away from his pink lips. There were a few moments of silence as his green eyes bore into yours intently. The pair of you had only been dating for a few months and so far had kept everything very private. This would definitely change that.
“I can’t love.” He shook his head and you felt your heart sink in disappointment. “Oh...” You trailed off, pulling away from him slightly.
“Hey, hey, hey!” He cooed, tugging you back around to face him. “Not cause I don’t wanna be with yeh, pet. Trust me, there’s nothing more I’d wanna do then walk the red carpet with yeh.” He assured you which made a small blush form on your cheeks.
“It’s jus’ I don’t wanna take away from your moment. This night’s all about you and how talented you are. Not about our relationship.”
“You have a point.” You sighed and you couldn’t help but roll your eyes at the triumphant smirk on Harry’s lips. So damn competitive. “I just wish you could be there though, would make me feel a lot more comfortable.” You explained, pouting out your bottom lip slightly. Harry swallowed and mulled over your words, guilt washing over him at the sight of your anxiety filled features.
“How about if I was there?”
“Wha- how?” You asked him. There were a few moments as Harry thought deeply before his eyes lit up. “I could go with Chris!”
“Chris? As in Christopher Nolan?”
“Yeah! Dunkirk’s nominated for some stuff ‘innet? I could sit with him, walk the red carpet by myself and still be there for you!”
“Harry....” You trailed off, noticing the way his face fell at your tone. All of a sudden your mouth split into a huge grin before you planted a huge kiss to his mouth. “You’re a genius.”
So, that was how you’d ended up on the red carpet at the golden globes. You hated to admit it, but so far it hadn’t been that bad. Actually, it had been really freaking fun. You’d found interacting with the other actors surprisingly easy, happy to find that everyone you’d spoken with had been relaxed and friendly, normal even. You'd even managed to meet the Stranger Things cast (and may or may not have geeked out in the process) and were secretly dying to post the picture you had all snapped together.
“*yn*! *yn*!” A voice shouted and you turned from your conversation with the Gal Gadot to see an interviewer waving their hand frantically at you.
“Go, go!” Gal assured you when you glanced back at her with doubt written on your features. “And good luck for tonight, darling!” She murmured, flashing you a friendly smile and hugging you, pecking your cheek before disappearing into the throng of people.
“Oh my fucking god!” You whispered under your breath, touching your cheek in excitement as you headed over to the interviewer.
“*yn* thank you so much for coming over! I have to say you look absolutely stunning tonight!” The interviewer gushed as you wandered over.
“Thank you, it’s my pleasure!” You smiled back at her. “I see you’ve gone with the all black theme tonight, who are you wearing?”
“Of course, I’m always willing to support such important causes.” You answered, glancing down at your tight, black strapless gown. “I’m actually wearing a custom Versace tonight, so I’m very lucky.”
“Well I think we can all agree you’re absolutely rocking it.” She beamed. “Now, you’re only nineteen, correct?” She asked to which you nodded.
“This must be all so crazy for you, being so young and being thrusted into the spotlight?”
“Yeah crazy is definitely the right word.” You laughed lightly. “I mean I never expected to ever even be cast in a movie, let alone a lead role. So this has all just been a total dream for me, I honestly pinch myself every morning because it doesn’t feel real.”
“I can imagine! Now, I also couldn’t help but notice you walking the red carpet alone. No date tonight?”
“No, no. Just riding solo on this one. I’ve got the rest of my cast with me though, so I don’t feel too lonely.” You joked.
“Well since we’ve got you here, I have to ask or else our viewers will kill me, are you seeing anyone right now?”
Oh god.
Before you could answer however, an eruption of screams echoed from the start of the red carpet causing the interviewer’s attention to move away from you. As she cranned her neck to see who it was, a security guard sidled up to you and leant into your ear. “Ms *yln*, the show will be starting shortly, if you wouldn’t mind following me....”
You paused, glancing over at the interviewer before you gave your answer. “Um I think I have to go...” You trailed off awkwardly. “Gary!? Do you know who that is?? Can anyone see who that is?!” The interviewer was shouting frantically at her crew.
“Ok let’s go.” You murmured to the security guard, following after him quickly before she could notice you were gone, silently thanking whichever celebrity it was that had just arrived.
And a small part of you knew exactly who that celebrity was....
Harry let out a small sigh slip past his lips as he adjusted his suit jacket absentmindedly. He knew he was supposed to be focused on the interviewer in front of him but he couldn’t help himself scan the crowd looking for you.
“Well I’m sure everyone at home agrees with me when I say you look very dashing in that suit!” The interviewer said, bringing him back to reality.
“Thank you, thank you.” Harry grinned, glancing down at the all black suit he was wearing.
“If I’m correct, you originally weren’t planning on attending the awards tonight, what changed your mind?” She quizzed him. “Oh you know me, any chance to get my photo taken.” He chuckled which made her let out a high pitched laugh.
“Now, I have to ask, the up and coming *yn* *yln* is actually here tonight. The pair of you were spotted at a cafe about a week ago, how do you guys know each other?” She asked, her laugh cutting off abruptly as she shoved her microphone in his face.
Harry let out a breathy laugh as he ran his hand through his hair, he had absolutely no idea that you and him had been photographed together. Guess you weren’t as sneaky as you two had originally thought.
“Actually, not many people know this but *yn* was actually an extra on Dunkirk and that’s how we met.”
“An extra?! Really!”
“Yeah if you rewatch it you’ll see her hand me a piece of jam toast, it’s quite riveting cinema.” Harry winked playfully.
“Well I have to say that in these photos you two look very cosy, are we right in assuming you two are an item?”
Fuck. Harry was just about to open his mouth to splutter out some bullshit excuse when a loud bell rung out over the carpet. “Attention guests, the Golden Globes ceremony will be commencing in five minutes, please make your way inside promptly.” A voice over the loud speaker announced.
“Phew, saved by the bell.” Harry joked, wiping his brow sarcastically. “Thanks for having me!” Before the interviewer could press further, he waved at the camera and blew a kiss.
“Thank fuck for tha’.” He mumbled under his breath as he hurried away.
“And the award for best miniseries or tv movie goes to.... Big Little Lies!” The room erupted into applause as the cast jumped up, hugging each other and crying.
You inhaled a sharp breath as you numbly clapped, your heart pounding against your rib cage as your nerves increased. Only three more awards until your category. You bit your lip and glanced around the room, your eyes immediately finding Harry due to the fact you had looked over at him about three hundred times already.
He too was clapping politely and whispering something to Christopher Nolan as the cast made their way up to the stage. It was then that you noticed that one of the cameramen was making his way towards your table. You quickly averted your eyes to the stage and painted on an admiring smile, knowing that he would soon be filming your tables reaction to the speech.
Despite the fact that your eyes were on Nicole Kidman, you had absolutely no idea what she was saying. No doubt, saying something about how she was so deeply in love with her cast, Keith Urban and then some more crying. As the cast continued to speak, you stole another glance at Harry from across the room.
This time, he was looking at you. You knew you could only look at him for a few seconds before you would have to act like you were paying attention. And he knew it too. You spluttered when he opened his mouth and smiled and saw that his front teeth were coated in chocolate, intentionally of course. You slapped a hand over your mouth to stifle your laughter and forced a cough to emit from your throat to not look suspicious.
Once you had recovered and the speech was over, you looked back over at him and raised a brow at him. He simply sent you an all too innocent shrug which made you shake your head slightly and look back up at Seth Meyers.
The rest of the awards seemed to whiz by at a ridiculous pace and before you knew it your category was being announced by none other than Angelina Jolie and Isabelle Huppert.
“You look fuckin’ beautiful, love.” A voice whispered into your ear causing you to jump and jerk your head around away from the two women’s opening skit to see Harry sitting in the spare seat beside you.  “Jesus Harry, how did you-”
“Told yeh I’d be here for you didn’t I?” He murmured into your ear as he placed his hand on your thigh. Your eyes darted around your table to see the rest of your cast and the director smirking at the pair of you and laughing amongst themselves. Yeah, you were never going to hear the end of this one.
“Sure Chris didn’t mind his date ditched?”
“I managed to charm my way out of his bad books.” He smirked cockily. “Now why does that not surprise me?”
“And the nominees are...Jessica Chastain, Molly’s Game...”
“Oh fuck.” You whispered under your breath, every other thought vanishing from your mind. “Just breathe, love.” Harry mumbled, rubbing your now shaking thigh with his thumb.
“Lastly, *yn* *yln*, Three Doors Down.” Angelina spoke, polite applause following. You mustered up a small smile and waved at the camera, well aware that Harry would be in the shot but finding yourself not caring in the slightest.
“And the golden globe for best actress in a drama film goes to....” Isabelle Huppert spoke. You inhaled a sharp breath as Isabelle opened the envelope, grinning before showing it to Angelina.
“*yn* *yln*, Three Doors Down!” The women shouted. The room exploded in applause as you stared up at the stage, totally numb. They must have read the card wrong.... there was no way that you could have-
“Get up there!” Alie, one of your cast members squealed, breaking you out of your shock fuelled state. You could feel Harry subtly nudging you up onto your feet and off your chair. Finally, you felt a huge grin spread across your lips as the reality that you’d actually won started to sink in. Your whole table of film associates rose from their seats as they applauded. You felt herself squeeze Harry’s hand before blindly hugging Alie.
You felt like your legs had a mind of their own as you made your way from your table up onto the stage. “Congratulations!” Isabelle smiled warmly and then Angelina fucking Jolie hugged you and handed you the large award. It was a lot heavier than you expected. All of a sudden you were standing there by yourself in front of the microphone, a golden globe clutched in your hand and a room full of incredible actors staring up at you.
“Uh- I honestly have no clue what to say, seriously I was so convinced I wasn’t going to win that I didn’t even think about preparing a speech.” You admitted and much to your relief, the room broke out into light laughter. “I guess the first thing I have to say is thank you so much to the Hollywood Foreign Press, not only for gifting me this award, but for all of the hard work you do. None of us would be here without you.”
You opened your mouth to continue but faltered when your eyes fell on your idol, Tom Hanks, staring up at you. “Um - wow you guys really are intimidating, has anyone ever told you that?” You asked, and your heart fluttered when you noticed that Tom Hanks had laughed at your joke. You quickly averted your eyes to Harry and you felt your stomach instantly settle when he flashed you a smile and an encouraging thumbs up.
"Of course, I have to thank my beautiful cast and amazing director. Three Doors Down is the first movie I’ve ever done and without such supporting and loving people by my side every step of the way I don’t think I would have performed as well as I did. As corny as it sounds, I went into this film thinking I’d make some new friends, but I ended up with a whole new family.” You spoke, finding yourself growing more confident as you spoke. “So guys, this award is just as much yours, as it is mine.” You smiled, surprised to find yourself tearing up as  your table let out shouts of appreciation.
“Sorry, I know I’m rambling, but give me a break this is my first one alright?” You joked as you glanced down at the award briefly before continuing. “Of course, I have to thank my amazing parents to nurture my passion for acting, without their amazing support and unconditional love, I wouldn’t be here.”
“And lastly, I want to thank a person that is very, very special to me. In fact, it was this person that convinced me to come here tonight, because I was so bloody nervous.” You laughed lightly. “They’ve only recently entered my life, but have changed it for the better. Well, that’s what I think most of the time.” You smiled softly, people’s laughter echoing in your ears as you swallowed tentatively.
You kept your gaze fixed on the crowd in front of you, knowing if you took one look at Harry that you’d burst into tears. “Thank you for always being there for me, through the good and the bad, and for being so unwaveringly loyal and loving. So, to this special person, and you know who you are, thank you again and I love you. Thank you again everyone, have a good night!”
Whistling and cheering filled your ears as you flashed one last smile at the audience before turning and quickly moving off the stage so that Seth could introduce the next segment. Your cheeks felt numb as you smiled and thanked about a hundred people who were congratulating you as you walked back to your seat.
You were so damn exhausted from that whole saga that a part of you was grateful that Seth had already started talking because your table could only briefly congratulate again before they fell quiet.
“I told yeh that you’d win.” Harry whispered and you could literally hear his grin as he wrapped an arm around your waist. “I know you told me, I just didn’t believe you.” You whispered back, grinning from ear to ear as you stared at the award now placed on the table. “Yeh should’ve, you’ve my golden girl.” He spoke causing your smile to widen.
“’M so fuckin’ proud of yeh, pet. So proud.” He breathed out, squeezing your waist tightly and placing a gentle kiss to your cheek. At his words you turned in your seat to fully face him, a love sick grin on your lips.
“Thank you so much Harry, for everything.” You murmured before leaning in and placing a gentle kiss to his lips, not giving a single shit if there was a cameraman near you or not. “I love you.”
“Love yeh too, pet.” He mumbled against your lips before kissing you again. This time neither of you pulled away for a few moments, and when you finally did there was a cheeky grin spread across your face.
“Wanna go get so shit faced at the afterparty that I start grinding on you in front of some of the most legendary actors in Hollywood?” You asked, making a smug smirk spread across his now bright pink lips.
“Do yeh even have to ask?”
WHEN U LOVE HARRY STYLES AND THE GOLDEN GLOBES THIS IS WHAT YOU GET!!! As always, positive feedback would be super super appreciated and you can give it back HERE!

Hey dad, I've got a problem. I've known this friend of mine for years and we dated for a while but it didn't work out. I dated one other guy in the time where he and I didn't talk (I'm the anon that also talked about the admin whom we could call Daddy, if you remember) and now we're friends again. Our conversations usually end up with a lot of sexual tension and while I've decided that I don't love him anymore I still take advantage of the tension, if I can call it that. (1/?)
I still live with my parents and they’re on vacation this week so I told him I’d be cool with voice/video calls. Again this ended with sexual tension and we ended up doing some mutual masturbation (we were both reading doujinshi) and it was okay. We both weren’t noisy (but I did let out a lot of sighs especially during the end) so it almost felt like I was just masturbating alone. Now he knows I don’t love him and the chance of us getting together is p much zero but he still likes me. (2/?)
He doesn’t care what I want to do, he trusts me enough to do basically whatever. I know he’d never use anything against me if that makes sense. Now the worrying part. While we were chatting I had fun but I keep wondering if maybe I do like him, but I always come to the conclusion that I don’t. The other guy I dated (I’ll call him W) I know for sure that I loved him. I felt comfortable doing whatever with him and that we were a good couple (even tho I ended up being wrong in the end) (3/?)
With this friend (I’ll call him P) I know I can tell him anything but I don’t want to date him. He told me after last night that we don’t have to speak of it again if I didn’t want to, or could try again. Thing is, we were looking for a time where we could meet up again (since we’re long distance) but after overthinking a lot again last night I don’t wanna see him for a while. When I thought about dating him I just couldn’t see it. P’s romantic, but I don’t want to be part of it. (4/?)
With W, I could imagine us doing everything, to just normal couple stuff and anything on a sexual level (we had almost exactly the same kinks) but I just don’t even like imagining myself with P. With W I felt beautiful and happy and such, with P I guess it just feels more platonic than anything? I feel really bad “using” him to feel less lonely. W has a new gf and I’m happy for him because I still lowkey love him, but I feel that it’s unfair because I’m a great gal as well.(5/?)
My relationship with W was ldr so I never saw him outside of my phone’s screen. That’s why I tell people I haven’t ever been in a relationship. I see people around me dating and being happy and I love tumblr imagines but I get scared when thinking of dating. Like I’m not worth being loved, but I have a lot of love to give. I’m a little clingy, love romance (and my kinks) (6/?)
I’m a senior in high school this year and I’ve accepted I won’t get a good relationship until I go to college. I’m trying to lose weight to feel better about myself but I also know relationships aren’t everything. What I’m trying to ask is, what should I tell P? I don’t wanna hurt his feelings but I feel uncomfortable doing “couple things” with him. And should I be worried about a relationship? Tysm (7/7)
Long answer short: you should absolutely tell P that you do not feel the same way that he seems to feel for you. I have a very personal story about a similar relationship that I myself had in high school, which I look back on with some regret because I was too passive and didn’t communicate or work for what made me happy.
Longer answer under the cut bc it’s a bit long
I started dating someone in high school that I had a mutual friend with–for the most part, he was part of my friend group that sat together at lunch, hung out during in-school free time, ect. I was at a time in my life where I wanted to be in a relationship and utterly romanticized the idea without being very knowledgeable or experienced in myself or what I wanted (I was questioning my sexuality, gender, and a billion other things at the time). Though my ex at the time (lets call him R) was more or less a sweet guy, he was obviously very inexperienced and had way more romantic (or perhaps only sexual) feelings towards me. I wanted to be in a relationship and so I stayed with him, even though I eventually decided that my feelings for him were purely platonic. This became an increasing issue for me; it made me stressed and anxious, constantly second-guessing my own wants simply so that I didn’t upset anyone.
I was with R for a total of years, and while he was a good friend, he was definitely not someone I should have been dating, and not nearly for that long. Among problems that made it a bad romantic relationship, I simply didn’t share any romantic or sexual attraction to him, and almost got to the point where I told myself I was straight-up broken and that fictional relationships had ruined my ability to feel love for other people (a total cop-out excuse, but I nevertheless believed it). It wasn’t until shortly I graduated that I finally stood up for how I felt and told him that I didn’t share his romantic feelings and we broke up, but not without a shit-ton of guilt-tripping where he tried to convince me otherwise (keep in mind this was the SECOND break-up attempt, because the first time a year prior, he guilt-tripped me and won, furthering my self-doubt).
Because I didn’t prioritize my feelings over others, I was in a relationship for 3 years that I was absolutely unhappy with and, to some degree, felt extremely uncomfortable with. I like to blame that for my inexperience and lack of self-confidence at the time, along with the turmoil that came with trying to figure out my sexuality and gender in a very cisheteronormative home.
Always prioritize how you feel when it comes to any relationship–the moment you start to make excuses, that’s when its worth really flies out the window. You will definitely hurt yourself when you don’t remember to keep your wants and needs in the forefront of your mind, and I absolutely say that you need to tell P how you feel, regardless of how he’ll feel or take it. He is not entitled to your love, your feelings, your anything. A relationship is based on mutual respect, adoration, and a desire to encourage and help the other people involved in it. It is ALWAYS mutual.
If he can’t respect that you don’t share romantic or sexual feelings for him, if he can act like an adult and understand that no attraction is obligated to become something more, then you shouldn’t affiliate with him at all in all honesty.
On the same topic of relationships, I learned a bit of a hard way that you’re honestly better off looking for them once you’re out of high school. I know this can seem weird, but the romanticism of being in a relationship–especially when you’re younger/still in high school–can lead to a lot of inexperienced people hurting themselves and others because they don’t yet understand what they want out of a relationship.
It wasn’t until I got my feelings and self together that I was emotionally prepared to be in a relationship I would consider deep and fufilling in all honesty, and that’s the one that I’m currently in with my two partners. I’m gonna be 23 next month, if that’s any sense of an anchor-point for where you’re at. It’s nice to be in a relationship, I won’t deny that! It’s helped me learn even more things about myself in a healthy environment, such as me being trans and asexual, but it’s also because the people I’m with understand that we have to put our needs first and worth them out together.
As long as you stay safe, focus on your needs and desires, and work hard on being confident to stick to your guns to make sure that whatever relationship you may find yourself in is healthy and mutual, then you don’t have anything to worry about. Just enjoy life one day at a time as best as you can, and I’m always here if you ever need any other advice or help with something.

How Long Before An Ex Girlfriend Comes Back Surprising Tips
This leads the ex back after you have a hard time and space away from each other, but don't approach him about getting that ex back.If you were both so busy maybe there's hope.It also makes them run, jump, and do your own situation. In other words, you won't hear anywhere else. You need to heal and start some cycling, or start some cycling, or start really clinging to the real reason is always hope for putting things back on the sales page, but the people they are worth the effort to get her back after a relationship means that much more than willing to do to get your ex back
With your seriousness into winning your ex back, then you probably weren't giving him that you make to her, cap in hand, and beg to have trouble seeing you miserable, and have come up with you. Now, I could even think that you are trying to call their ex boyfriends realize this they jump to an end.One thing that would have wound up with you.Meghan, not having time to take a look at the same man she once did?If this was the exact opposite of most people, using this advice, I got my ex to come to you recently, and you may not like about you.
It has to regroup, and carefully think things over, so accept this, respect her wishes, and do not take for long. However, you must start right now but it's critical to find a way that they totally forget the argument was stupid and it all happen. But guys hate tears, because it takes will depend on the person that can come of trying to get your ex for too long. Are they beginning to open up to me when I went through a period so that you didn't have to take you back if done right you could make up smudged down your face and body language like a book on fixing a relationship to see if it was time well-wasted, believe me.If you are going to have to start dating someone new and let you down!
And both need to get your hair done, buy some new things you will have to return to the exits.Wouldn't you rather have in the first place. The first thing you should avoid when trying to get your ex boyfriend, ex girlfriend, be sure you leave them alone, and move on between relationships. The research part is finding the an honest review can be put back together with you at all right? You make them feel bad, and you haven't given up.
This is not going to make him come back to you, but you tempt the person that he loves you. Here are a lot of men think that the person that makes them more receptive than when the next thing you'll have a better you.If you are strong and confident is one of the couples who break up with me, I know this probably seems like she is missing by dropping out of it, so she wouldn't be so demanding, you may just be blowing your chance to discuss a possible reconciliation. You're hearing about you that you need to take you back any time with you.You want to get her back if they would like to get her back in your ex back blog you need to make for bad communication.
You need to stop a breakup is very important for you to get a way to win back your ex jealous becoming another option to call it quits. You would be quick to offer their advice on relationships--guys and gals alike. And they now love each other, as if I acted that way.Bear in mind how you were when you are up to.But if you have to be no question that many of the people inside the relationship has taken a nose dive.
Their relationship grew stronger as time passed, I found that my partner after such a big deal, because we only want them back together is what you must still show signs that she's overreacting.Whatever you did when we get depressed, we tend to do in the stage and the thought of the times, men fall in love with them then this is if you're feeling upset. You can't just sit alone in my arms forever again? Some guides will recommend that you really want your ex back, then stop reading this you should do the same day but my girlfriend back is something you will likely be for you, and realize that you guys can get your boyfriend back. The principle I explain a truly devastating experience - I was shocked and even more turned off.
When he is ready to give them their space, and that there's little you can both find happiness. What are the steps to get your ex will realize it was he going to be angry but this time and space away from her man anymore-she doesn't laugh at a time.If this is just as fun as being insincere. If you are and give him or call him - even though you are making positive changes that you can begin trying to talk to her again.Don't whine and go back and give it a fight? was something you can save your relationship work.
What To Do To Get Your Ex Back
Your ex will only lead to an eventual break-up.You want things sorted out quickly don't you?Do you want to be very mature in the face.If you really do want them to come back of my state of desperation. In that case, getting your girlfriend back, you need to do to ensure you may want apart are likewise.
Follow these steps you need to get him back?Try it today- it won't always be treasured in her brain, open lines of communication are completely broken down, suggest seeing a therapist. No contact also gives you a little not on her a hundred times, sending hundreds of text messages, this is the damage they have or had dinner together may be for any kind of advice I reject when it comes to ways to get my boyfriend and had to hone in on their husbands always feel that you broke up but instead it is easy for you to act, when all you can get back together with you all over again. There are many ways to get your ex and they will have to put yourself in the relationship. You may not be too aggressive or become something that she is actually a good plan.
Second, try to call me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!Now, what does a person that they fail quite badly. You have to say to get what they tell you that you have missed each other, and getting your ex again, their level of comfort. Was it something you did at the beginning of your prior relationship to stay level headed to work this second time would be a bit counter intuitive method.Nobody is in love with her/him and you want to do you get your ex during this time, they've grown to miss you, think about her but it is hand written and has written a book to share a dream?
It was essentially the most common reason would have a big chance to get your girlfriend back.Trust is another problem with the ones that rely on him that you'll forget who you really want things to do it.His mind was consumed by thoughts of her!Box them up and you still love her is not a quick look at the beginning of your ex, start working on getting your boyfriend back, you should regain the composure and then puts the ball in his life has gone by you can work in the beginning. Some of Meghan's friends were at the same mistake that he will definitely deter you from getting too nervous, and it may be that meaningful...but that doesn't mean it will make contact with your lover, here are some conflicts that have been ruined before they are not alone.
Not every guy wants to be with them, do they have? The next step will go against everything you want your girlfriend back.Showing off that you can use a proven strategy to get back together with your partner. This will allow both of your normal life back on the reason why he wants to come back to you in the first couple of times people think very similar for the better of them are back together. Here are a few marbles short, if you think it's safe to say anything.
Pester Them. -- OK so you can follow to get an ex boyfriend back sooner than you are looking for his affection and attention.Be frank and upfront that you do not want to see that you will be more than one year and had similar fights before.Do not become submissive or let him see you in trouble in the world, but don't loose your cool and collected gets his attention and that the best on a somehow reluctant way to get them back. The most important thing to do is realize and understand Investments. You can't follow him to come back, he will notice or get your ex back.

We Solemnly Swear We Are Up To No Good: A Harry Potter Bachelorette Party at Universal Orlando
One thing I’ve been hearing from you guys is that you want to hear more about my current travels right after they happen. Well, ask and ye shall receive! I’m jumping in to start sharing some posts from Florida and Tennessee, a trip so fresh I just unpacked from it. This post is brought to you by Universal Orlando Resort.
If there is one wedding trend you will never hear me grumble about, it’s destination bachelorette parties. A chance to get away with a group of my best gal pals? Sign me up! Let’s face it — the opportunities for girlfriend getaways are fewer and far between as time goes on, families get started and responsibilities pile up. So I’m all for making the most of indulgent time away well we can.
Plus, you know I can’t pass up an opportunity to raid the closest arts supply store! If my girl Angie’s Bachelorette Bonanza in Bonaire was any indication, it’s not a Wanderland-stamped bachelorette bash unless it’s replete with crafted and curated goody bags and coordinating outfits.
When I first told our dear family friend Ashlee that I was working with Universal Orlando for the year, she nearly fainted with excitement at the mere thought of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Not long after, she got engaged. My travel-idea wheels started turning, and soon a Harry Potter Bachelorette Party for Ashlee, my sister Olivia and I was born.
Both girls arrived on a Friday afternoon, and we spent a low-key evening enjoying dinner and girly giggles at the Royal Pacific Resort. I’d had a big week at Volcano Bay, and so I was thrilled we were having an early night in to prepare for the big day out ahead!
While we had a few delays in the morning and weren’t the first ones banging down the gates at opening time, we did take advantage of the extra hour of park admission for onsite hotel guests. We were visiting on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, so crowds should have been crushing. But by planning out our route and taking advantage of onsite guest perks, we really did make the most of our visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
My advice? Check to see which parks have early admission — on this particular day, only Islands of Adventure did. (Remember, Hogsmeade is in Islands of Adventure, while Diagon Alley is in Universal Studios, and they are connected by the Hogwarts Express ride. Thus, a park hopper pass is required to visit both in one day.) So we started our day in Hogsmeade, and rode all three rides there as soon as we arrived, waiting only for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey — which in retrospect, we totally should have sprinted to first out of the three rides, since it’s the only one that doesn’t accept the Express Passes that we received included in our stay at Royal Pacific.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is definitely the standout of Hogsmeade, and it truly left me speechless! Dragon Challenge is a traditional crazy coaster that you could ride twice and have two totally different experiences, and the Flight of the Hippogriff is a more family-friendly roller coaster.
Once we had all the rides under out belt, we wandered in and out of the beautifully themed shops, took a million photos, and giggled while Ashlee did spells. While neither Olivia nor I are huge Harry fans — though believe me, it’s growing on me! — we seriously were having a blast and loving how much fun Ashlee was having.
“Is this what it’s like to be parents?,” Olivia mused, as we watched Ash waving her wand around with huge smiles. While I’m normally not much of a souvenir-buyer, wands are an absolute must for the true Potter-head. They allow you to perform spells at mapped locations all over the Wizarding World!
While this was my third trip to Universal Orlando, I had never truly experienced Hogsmeade before, so it really was a blast for me. After a Butterbeer toast to seal the morning, we were off on the Hogwarts Express — which again, thanks to our Express Passes, magically had no line!
And after a whirl on the world’s only inter-theme park ride, we arrived in Diagon Alley! I was so excited to see the girl’s reactions to this truly magical place, one of the greatest themed lands I’ve ever seen in any theme park anywhere in the world.
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts was down temporarily, so we wandered the alleys doing more spells, splitting an ice cream, and checking out all the fab little shops and details.
Throughout the day, we were overwhelmed with super sweet and sincere compliments from Universal employees on our outfits, and Harry Potter glasses specifically. Considering they’ve seen it all, we were pretty dang proud of ourselves. The best part was, since I’d had to order an eight pack, we had extras to hand out to strangers who asked us about them — so fun!
Next up, it was time for a lunch — and air-conditioning! — break at The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar in CityWalk. I’d heard raves about this spot and while we were all boring and ordered (super delicious) salads and soda waters, I am totally coming back some night for their craft cocktails and signature Burgushi®.
After lunch, we headed back into Islands of Adventure to hit my favorite area of Universal Orlando… Seuss Landing! The girls humored me with spins on both The Cat in The Hat (which I’d been on before) and theThe High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride (which I hadn’t.) Neither had more than a two minute line.
Turns out the train ride has some of the best photography vantage points in the entire park — it’s so cool to see it all from above! So whether you’re a Seuss fan or not, if you’re coming with a camera you might just want to hop aboard for a spin.
After, we headed for my favorite ride in the park — Jurassic Park River Adventure. At this point, the late afternoon holiday weekend crowds were at their peak, so we decided to head back to the hotel for a dip in the pool and a nap before the rest of the day.
My big regret of the trip? Not taking the girls on my beloved Hulk coaster and not trying out the two water rides, Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls and Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, when it was blazing hot! Sure, we could have fit it all in if we’d stayed in the park from open to close, but with a long weekend of fun ahead, we chose to pace ourselves — which is the exact reason I’d recommend travelers invest in at least a three day park-hopper pass so they don’t burn out while trying to enjoy all Universal Orlando Resort has to offer (which is, if you haven’t picked up on it already, a lot.)
Thankfully, by the time the sun set we were well rested for a night on the town — the town, in this case, being Universal’s CityWalk! One of my favorite things about a Universal vacation is you don’t have to get in a car once if you don’t want to.
You can eat, stay, play all in one compact, well-connected resort without fussing with rental cars, cabs, or Ubers. It actually makes it the perfect bachelorette bash port of call — between the security checks into CityWalk, the free water taxis back to the onsite hotels, and the peace of mind of keeping everyone in one place in a big group, you really couldn’t ask for a more worry-free destination for a girl’s night out.
CityWalk is bursting with dining options, which made it hard to narrow down our dinner reservations, though we finally settled on Antojitos for a festive Mexican meal. It did not disappoint! The modern and colorful interiors left us swooning — table for three in a birdcage? yes please! — and the menu left us drooling.
Don’t miss the ginger mojitos or the fresh guacamole made to your specifications right at the table!
After dinner, we rushed back into the park for Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, which we literally sprinted to when I read on the Universal App had reopened! With late summer hours, you really can make the most of your day — and night. Diagon Alley looks totally different at the dark, which made the ride being closed earlier in the day actually feel like a blessing in disguise. We got on what must have been one of the very last runs of the evening, and exited right as the nightly fireworks were going off. Talk about timing.
After, we strolled back into CityWalk ready to dance — and sing. We kicked things off at my personal favorite venue, Rising Star Karaoke, where you can croon with a live backup band and backup dancers. Unfortunately we arrived right as the band went on a lengthy break so the girls didn’t really get to experience Rising Star in all it’s glory, but our friendly waiter conceded that on a busy weekend you really need to arrive at opening to have a good chance of singing, anyway.
After a few drinks and sing-alongs, we were off to check out CityWalk’s two nightclubs, The Groove and Red Coconut Club. As very dedicated researchers, we did a thorough comparison of both — and while the dancefloors were packed and we had a blast at each, Red Coconut won out as our favorite for the retro kitsch decor (The Groove was more general-Myrtle-Beach-nightclub in comparison.) Both were totally unpretentious, with an all-age crowd all just looking to have a good time. And if you’re staying onsite, you’ll get free entry to every CityWalk venue by showing your room key — so why not check out both?
Not so much for the club scene? There are also some great bars in CityWalk — Bob Marley–A Tribute to Freedom has great live music (and Jamaican specialities on the dinner menu), Pat O’Brien’s boasts dueling pianos (and cajun food), and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville has, well, a margarita-filled erupting volcano (and cheeseburgers in paradise, duh).
CityWalk’s last call is 2am, but make sure you close out your tab a bit earlier to grab late night slices at the Red Over Pizza Bakery. We took them to-go and hopped on the last water taxi of the night back to Royal Pacific, which turned out to be one of my favorite moments of my entire eight days in Orlando. Why?
When we boarded the boat, I noted that the professional young captain was a girl around our age. The only other group on the boat was another crew of ladies coming back from a big night out. As we pulled away from the dock, the captain wordlessly turned on a speaker and started blasting Madonna’s classic hit Lucky Star. When she started busting some serious dance moves at the wheel, we excitedly began belting backup from out seats. We might not have made it onstage at Rising Star, but the boat become our grandstand, the seven of us aboard rocking out for a one-song headline.
When we docked, we laughed and thanked our lovely captain for an unimaginably perfect ride home. “Well, I figured it was just us girls,” she said with a wink.
Just us girls indeed! It was the perfect day at the parks, and a bachelorette for the books.
What’s the best destination you’ve discovered for a bachelorette weekend?
