Can I be honest? When it was only s1 I was wary of how quick the fandom drew wyldfyre with dark skin when she was only shown to be aggressive and less intelligent than the main cast. Although this is becoming less of a problem because she has shown to be more than just that but it still sticks to my mind till this day

I would never delete my fics

I got linked to a reddit thread today where people were being advised to download my mortifying ordeals/Buddie fics, since apparently "now that I'm a BuckTommy shipper", I might be "petty" and delete all my Buddie fics.

So. I'll move past the complicated feelings it gives me to have people hoarding my fics while actively shitting on me as a person (and seemingly not even telling me that they enjoyed my work, although in fairness that could just be a difference in usernames.) That's the nature of fanfic, fandom, and putting things out there on the internet and I accept that.

But I do want to reassure people that I would never delete my fics. I still have the cringy-as-fuck Harry Potter fics I wrote in high school up; believe me those would be first on the chopping block if I was inclined to delete my work. And all of my 9-1-1 fics hold a special place in my heart, but none more than the mortifying ordeals series, which consumed basically a full year of my life and reminded me why I love writing. Hell, I got engaged while writing the final chapters of I once was lost. That fic is indelibly tied to my life now.

And look... I don't think it really matters, nor should I have to explain and justify what I do and don't enjoy about a show or fandom, but this whole experience has upset me more than it probably should have and I can't help but want to get it off my chest anyway.

My favourite thing about this show is the found family feels. I either love or am at least intrigued by every single character that has appeared. You'll notice that family is the central theme of every story I write, whether the story is Gen, Buddie, or BuckTommy.

Because yes, the idea of BuckTommy and how that plays into the family themes of the show has intrigued me and captured my muse.

I've also said before that I didn't think Season 7 left Buddie in a great place in terms of romantic relationship potential - in my opinion, the ghost of Shannon would be an absolutely massive barrier to them getting together right now. The post season 7 Buddie fics have also heavily featured character bashing, which isn't something I generally enjoy seeing, and infidelity, which I really don't like seeing romanticised especially since I've had a partner cheat on me.

So yes, I've distanced myself from the post-S7 Buddie fandom because I just don't enjoy the pervasive negativity I've seen and the way that cheating and violence is suddenly celebrated by a significant subset of the fandom.

That does not mean I've given up on Buddie altogether. I still have a whole list of pre-S7 buddie fics in my to-be-read list that I've been making my way through and 2 out of my 5 WIPs are Buddie fics (both in the mortifying ordeals 'verse, just to make it even clearer that I'm not at all interested in deleting that series.)

But two of those 5 are BuckTommy, because as I said above, their relationship was intriguing to me and it captured my muse.

I don't think those opinions make me some kind of betrayer, or that they inherently make me a "petty" person but I guess I just didn't realise that not-exclusively-shipping-Buddie was such a High Crime in this fandom.

Ahem ahem. So. From a meta standpoint? I just have a very, very weird feeling about what's going on with tsams now that they've Also changed Lunar's name. The only information we have on what's happening is from Discord, where Kat mentioned it wasn't her choice to change Earth's name and the mods reassuring everyone that the changes are for a good reason. I've been seeing theories that the changes are to make them more sellable for merch? But I,, don't fully know why they'd have to change their own OCs for that? So idk

From a story perspective though? It doesn't make sense and it's just another vein of Lunar having no choice in what happens to them.

Just because Libra asked "do you accept this permanent name change?" doesn't mean that "no" was a valid answer, because then what would have happened? They say "actually, I like my name, Lunar feels fine" and then what? The astrals, of which are famously judgy and pushy, say "okay, we'll continue to call you Lunar then! (Even though we just said that Lunar is an unfitting astral name)" like?!?!!??? And Lunar just immediately goes home to be like "uh. I guess I have a different name now? and I don't wanna deal with two names, so just call me Cosmos too."

They didn't make this choice. And honestly! They couldn't have because Lunar wouldn't have ever changed their name of their own volition!!! You can't tell me that Lunar—the character who is known for trying to cling onto a sense of identity so hard that it causes more problems for them in the long run—would be willing to let go of their own name? That is the one thing about them that actually hasn't changed since the beginning, the one thing that's consistent in the face of everything.

Plus, on a more personal note? I had an experience with my old username where everyone was calling me a nickname derived from my url instead of my actual chosen name, and the realization that only one person was calling me my actual preferred name made me have a messy identity crisis. If Lunar wasn't just, a character who is unfortunately the subject of bad writing lately, this choice would probably hit them at some point. They'd probably have that same awful, dreadful feeling of "oh god. no one even knows me."

It's just. Earth made sense because she at least gave her own reasons. She said "yeah I'm tryna be my own person now, so I'm Terra!" but Lunar's reason was just "uh. Libra gave it to me sooo.... 👍 yup." Like. augghhh. They could have gone by both Lunar and Cosmos too if the writing wasn't being so weird but !!! ugh. deflates. it's whateverrrrr

okay so i just saw a pretty aggressive and slightly rude tiana hate post (it hurt me a lot i cant look at it help) and guys that alr to dislike a ship but could you not tag the ship in it?? like i get the post is about them but seriously dude I click on the kotlc tiana tag so i can see posts about people's love for the ship NOT to see people hating on it.. and in a general sense we shouldn't be full on hating ships, unless its illegal or literally disgusting.

even tho this is my first fandom (and was my only one for 3 and a half years up until like. literally this month 💀) i dont feel entitled to content and i think no one should, regardless of how long you've been a fan or how much merch you've bought because those were your own choices. yes it is nice to be communicated with clearly, and to get regular content, but dont take it as a personal attack if it doesnt happen. creators have to take care of themselves and deal with their own shit behind the scenes and remember that you never know what someone could be going through, its highly unlikely they're trying to 'ghost' their own audience on purpose lol. its always better if content is made out of someones passion and will to do it rather than forced out halfheartedly/rushed bc of fear or other reasons bc that can get rlly unhealthy.

fun reminder that the woman who appears in the most episodes of supernatural is Samantha smith (and how many of these appearances are just a replay of her on that ceiling) and she is only in 37 episodes... of 327

and the non-white person who appears in the most episodes is osric chau who is only in 20(fucking 20!!!!) episodes and there are only 2 non white people in the top cast on imdb (and they total 35 eps combined. less than sam is even in)

does that mean that until season 12 the female character with the most appearances was ruby 2.0... who was only in 13 episodes...

Sorry for ranting on main but I really didn't need to find out that there's discourse between the PRSK/Enstars fandoms on Twitter for the umpteenth time.

It honestly infuriates me how the PRSK/Enstars/Bandori fandoms hate each other and are literally incapable of getting along for one second.

I know we all have differing opinions regarding aspects like writing/gameplay/songs/card art but that's literally zero reason to act like one series is inherently superior to another for XYZ reasons, and there's NEVER a good reason to be rude about it.

You're not superior for liking one thing and hating another. Get off TikTok/fandomtwt and learn how to be nice to people.
