I honestly never ever respected anybody to read my stuff. When I made my first post, I sat on it for days and wondered if I should really upload it, and just made this blog for self-indulgent reasons. I was super surprised! I'm still surprised every day!

Some of my ideas are based on real events! The toe-biting one (it wasn't a human though haha), high-pitched noise, sneezing (it's me, I'm determined to bless everyone who sneezes), long hair, unnoticed, those are a few based on personal experiences. I have a lot of ideas saved up to potentially write about in the future as well. I used to live in an international dormitory in Tokyo where there were young adults from all over the world living together in an unfamiliar country. We're all people and we were all similar, but everyone was raised in a different culture so we had these slightly different quirks, and I like to think that's what living with the Obey Me characters might feel like.

Some of the posts are based on internet memes, like chin on palm, false eyelashes, and confident Levi. Some of them are based on other shows, like Mammon's First Grimm and the Watching MC sleep post from yesterday. I read a lot of manga/webtoons, especially in the otome isekai genre. Sometimes I get spin-off ideas from those, but if I go into a new series specifically looking for ideas to write about then I won't find anything. The OM characters have certain popular traits, like the bookworm and the otaku and the tsundere, but they're also unique characters that express those tropes in their own way! So I don't like drawing too many parallels between the OM cast and similar characters from other media because I don't want to label all otaku, bookworms, tsundere, etc. as being the same.

A lot of people send me asks and I really have to respond to them! There are a lot of fun ideas people sent in that I've been sitting on for too long. I never know how long or short to make the responses and I don't want to disappoint people with really short answers if they were expecting something big, but that makes me hesitate and I wind up accidentally not responding. ;u;

Sometimes an idea springs into my head out of nowhere and just have to get it out right away. I prefer to write at a computer but the April Fool's Day piece and Hide & Seek came to me so suddenly I literally couldn't focus on anything else, dropped what I was doing, and immediately posted it from my phone.

this got so long, oh no. you can tell i like to ramble when I speak on the internet hghakhj. I may be taking a bit of a break from writing soon because a big anime convention is coming up and I'm working a lot on cosplay again. I want to post some longer fics when I'm back though so come August I'd like to work on those. If people read my posts and haven't noticed, I also write whatever's on my mind in the tags! Hello everyone! How are you? I'm Arabella, and I love to worldbuild, learn about nature, draw, and a bunch of other stuff. If you have any questions about my worlduilding, let me know! Please keep conversations appropriate (no sexting or asking extremely personal questions). Here there will be reblogs of/art of some stuff you might find disturbing (body horror/gore), but I will label it as such (gore, blood, tw, nsfw, etc). as someone who spent years having their stuff ripped and reposted to f1twt, i wish someone would've told me this before i went into a months-long spiral about the issue--but honestly, the healthiest thing to do is stop going on twitter and kindly ask ppl to stop letting u know your stuff is being taken.

i know that's easier said than done and sounds wack but honestly! my mental health was literally the stonks meme after i did this!! sometimes you'll come across your shit on pinterest or google again bc of reposters and it'll Suck™, but don't let this stop you from doing things you enjoy, yknow? at the end of the day, twitter engagement (and tumblr engagement too) doesn't mean anything and is completely forgettable. the important thing is, did you have fun making your gifs? sharing insane moments to talk about with friends? did you reach the audience who matters?

the numbers game on socmed hurts a lot, i know. my friends used to talk me down for hours on end about it. but people on twitter don't give two shits about us, so don't give two shits about them; they're not even worth the second-hand smoke you breathe.

The thing that got to me this time is the privacy of it all. I know im posting on socials but here is very different to twt/tiktok. I’ve never really been one for numbers like if something does well great and obvs there’s stuff i want to do well, but for the most part a lot of my stuff does not get main tagged because it is for a small group of people and myself!

what really gets me and maybe its just me, but the possibility for interaction with real people on twt. For me that is terrifying and the thought of rl people seeing some of my content?? … like why are we putting a gif of Mark grabbing his dick on twitter where he or someone related to him could see it? I didnt main tag it and i know its inevitable that more people will see it but that really fucked with me when i saw that. it still haunts me that the video of with me breathing and making noises from goodwood made it to twt too 🤣 thats what really got to me this time and ive tried to not let it get to me but it’s scary!!! lol

for traditional/published writers, i was heavily influenced by markus zusak, jandy nelson, william faulkner, vladimir nabokov, and the dozens of others whose work i inhaled as a teenager. for fic writers, yes!! a lot of my mutuals are writers i've been influenced by, whether it be word choice, imagery, or how i characterize canonical characters when i write them!! i'm not gonna tag ppl in case they dont want the notif, but tesblr's thriving fanfic community has been a gigantic influence

if we're talking oc/canon, i haven't really written any emeros/serana, despite them being one of my main ships for emeros. i really wanna write about them getting to know each other and growing into their relationship eventually!

as for canon/canon, i want to write so many different pairings tbh. i want to explore the intricacies of astrid and arnbjorns relationship - the hint of bitterness mingled with the deep love they share, it's fascinating to me. i want to write about enthir and gallus, and gallus and karliah, and i definitely want to write about elenwen and legate rikke. that ship grabbed me and didnt let go, but i dont have ideas for them at the moment lmao

Z: Major character death–do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can’t tolerate?

i do!! i write and read it, because it sometimes offers a really interesting take on events or can be a satisfying end to a characters story, and the aftermath of those left behind fascinates me. i don't think there's a character whose death i just cant handle, but i dont like to read about cicero dying, BUT i will if the fic is good and i will actively enjoy the rest of the fic. emotional support clown, i swear.

Scream - Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher, my beloved. It's no secret that I love Kpop, though I am definitely not one of the crazies. I do have the good sense not to wade into the cesspool of stans. Still, Dreamcatcher is way different from "normal" Kpop in that they have a rock/metal-inspired concept and regularly sing songs about heavier topics like mental health, climate change, and bullying (which is actually what Scream is about -- there's a lot of witch hunting imagery in the video). They have a ton of incredible songs but this one is, by far, my favorite. Oh and their fans are reasonably well behaved, which is more than can be said for a lot of Kpop fans.

3. Papercut - Linkin Park

I grew up with Linkin Park and they meant a lot to me as a teenager. I'll always love them no matter how much of a meme their music becomes. 😭 Papercut is my favorite song by them from my favorite album. It found me at a really shitty time in my life and gave me comfort when I really needed it. I felt like I wasn't alone for the first time.

4. Free Somebody - Luna

Back to Kpop! This is actually one of my all-time favorite songs from any genre. It just puts me in a good mood (Even if the video is weird. That volcano's lookin a lil sus 👀) Nobody in the Kpop scene really appreciated this song when it dropped and I have no idea why. It's immaculate.

stupidest fic idea ever: (non-canon)

au where dream finds george (who he does not know) on tinder after not using it for months. he swipes right and it’s a match and sends a greeting but george immediately responds and says that he’s going to delete his account and was actually going to do it right when he got the notification that dream matched with him (he swiped right like 3/4 months earlier)

dream asks why and george tells him that he might be pregnant and even if he isn’t, he doesn’t know if he wants to get involved with anyone for a while. dream is like “dude i do not care at all. if you change your mind, i’m cool with just being friends. no romance involved”

he get ghosted and then a couple days later george is like “okay fine do you play fortnite” and dream says yes so they play a couple rounds after they exchange discord tags

and then george deletes his tinder and starts being really dry so dream sends him tiktoks he thinks he’d like and stupid memes to make him laugh

so then they start hanging out online more often and they start playing other games. they make a minecraft server and dream asks if he ever found out and george responds with something along the lines of “oh yea. i’m pregnant. lets go raid this pillager outpost” and they drop it until dream finds out that george doesn’t have a lot of support so he offers to take him to his appointments and make him dinner and just hang out if he needs it

george calls him one night and says that he really needs to see someone in person so dream comes over and they talk until it’s too late for dream to go back to his place and he crashes on george’s couch

dream realize he’s getting emotionally attached to george even though he told himself not to do he starts to do things to distance himself but george calls him out on it. when george is sad one day, he takes him out on a “not-date” where george says he doesn’t know what to do when the kid actually gets here because he’s alone and dream says “you aren’t alone. you have me” which makes george cry

(insert classic build up friends to lovers pining. (they do not get together until george has the baby))
