In June 2021 I started a summer job. It was admin work. I'd never done that before, but I liked what I did! I stayed much longer than we'd anticipated, but they were always short, renewable contracts.
From the beginning I could not officially accept the more permanent, CDI type of contract, as my plans involved leaving the country. I don't think it's fair to accept that type of job when I know I'm not seeing myself there indefinitely.
They asked again if I'd stay and accept that kind of offer. I have until next Friday to give an answer. And sadly, I think I have to decline. In all my time there I've essentially seen 90% of my initial team leave. I don't get on well with the new team, and I don't particularly like the way things are being run now.
It sucks, because I love what I do. And I love the teams we have across France. But I can't accept that.
I've gained a lot of confidence during my time there and I've connected with people that made this position worth it. It's really the first company I've been at this long. It makes me sad to leave. But I'm miserable... So I know I have to.

Luke and Leia would not be the same people if they had grown up with their bio parents. If they had grown up with their bio parents, they would've grown up in the suburbs. Luke is like that because he grew up as a gay kid in the middle of nowhere tuning up 20-year-old cars he could then drive around without a proper licence while five different gangs roamed around. Leia is like that because she was raised by people in their forties who were on the radical left. They are not the same.

I can't get over that last scene from this episode. that long pause where sam was quietly grabbing a drink and you could barely hear celia talking to jack as she put him to bed in the other room. nothing was happening in that moment that needed to be recorded. no terrible events no big revelations. just sam and celia quietly going about their lives, sharing a domestic moment.
as something watched and listened. and we don't know why it's listening.

There's a disabled angel in good omens 🥺
#listen im only in episode two and i know there's some drama going down but im focusing on this lol#i love that not only do they show the angel using a wheelchair and being ambulatory#but they also visibly show them miracling innaccessibility issues so that they Can still use the chair#instead of just getting rid of the disability#part of my is conflicted bc im like... there's disabilities in heaven? and that makes Me sad bc my disability is hell and painful as fuck#But getting rid of disability in fantasy is eugenist crap and showing that god made a disabled angel is a net good thing#while it personally makes me sad to think if there was a heaven i could still be in pain all the time#not all disabilites are bad and need to be cured we're a wide spectrum and we've been fighting for disabled rep esp in fantasy for ages#it's objectively good my personal feelings about my own disability aside#part of me thinks it's cliche to say 'you were made perfect' bc they're an angel But it's not we literally havent had this type of rep lol#anyways it made me happy to see#and im so glad it's a power chair user that's ambulatory it's important for abled ppl to see that#anyways y'all keep your drama and spoilers off my post im not far in and im only talking about this shoo#oh also!! love the fantasy hover chair they use in heaven specifically too i wish we had that it kicks ass#p

God forbid a cast of characters be multifaceted and have actual flaws and unpleasant aspects other than "grr angsty hero" and "whoops i'm so clumsy". Sometimes character dynamics and arcs need to be prioritized above "who would i personally be niceys with irl"
