Nene’s Dead Corpse and her ghost bf

Anyway I’m a biomed class where unit 1 is studying medical investigations forensic science style

and one of the things is like, what happens to a person after the body has been dead for a while (post mortem or sum, see im learning :D)

Things like algor mortis, livor mortis, I’ve heard of. In fact I’ve even studied the clouding of the corneas before, but it never got to me till today

maybe it’s cause I cannot for the life of me study forensics without my wild imagination giving me nightmares or just panicking when I’m alone but aNyWays

I tend to imagine characters associated with death in these scenarios so I don’t lose it in class💀

So as I was taking notes on the slideshow, some of the images of clouded corneas reminded me strangely of something familiar, but at that point I couldn’t tell. There’s something haunting about the eyes (or maybe it’s just my over-analytical brain loving small details like this) they’re GORGEOUS

it’s literally just an eye with nothing but color

and then it hit me…it’s exactly the look Nene had when Mirai fast-forwarded her time

you can see in the image it’s just her plain magenta eyes with a fuzzy de-saturated blob in the center…aka clouded corneas

And that honestly made me realize that in this scene she’s not—she’s not even unconscious

No she’s literally, physiologically dead

THAT IS A CORPSE HE IS HOLDING

she is literally a dead body this hits me so hard😭😭

and I can imagine algor mortis kicked in by then, her body was probably cold to the touch

so imagine how he felt, and I’m aware people have analyzed his emotions but just think about it

he’s always seen her so full of life and hope, and now all he has left is an empty shell of her, cold and dead with no life left inside

…just like him

the more I think about it Hanako is just an animated corpse

he has no reflection in his eyes most of the time because he is ✨dead✨

I mean Mei, Mitsuba, and Hanako don’t have a little white reflection dot like Nene and Kou

Or maybe I’m overthinking it and Nene’s eyes are just super reflective

even for someone who presumably took his own life, he probably never saw tsukasa’s body start postmortem and actually feel dead bc it looked extremely bloody ngl (I’m guessing he killed himself right after 💔)

and now he’s holding someone he cares about like this for the first time and I’ll bet that scarred him

and he figured out that never, never ever did he ever want to see his sweet assistant like this again, lifeless in his arms

and so after that, cue Hanako in his villain era who basically became a yandere the entire picture perfect lmao

and he was unbelievably adamant about it too

I mean honestly if I held anybody I knew lifeless like that I’d be scarred for life and crying for days

seeing the light drained from someone’s eyes is so interestingly sad to me

Welcome to Coco’s Review! Where I review and breakdown episodes, movies and etc and overthink every tiny detail and/or give my thoughts and opinions :D !! THE STORY I’M ABOUT TO DISCUSS HAS TOPICS ABOUT S/A AND OTHER DISTURBING TOPICS PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION !! Ok so this may not be something you’d expect me to cover but I wanted to discuss this series on my blog for a while now! Today I’m discussing Blue’s Story by Victaton!

Blue’s Story is a series by Victaton over on youtube that mixes gacha life 2 character designs along with animation. I like to think of the gl2 designs as character models and Victation expands on it through animation. The series doesn’t have proper episodes, its installments mainly continue music videos that go in a specific order. The story is about Blue, a man in his early 20s entering the company his older sister works in with a positive attitude only for it to fade away as a lot of women in his new job want to get in his pants and cause irreversible trauma on the poor guy. This series is meant to show how abuse in the workplace can happen and how s/a can be done anywhere and by anyone. It seems to be a response to the misconceptions of how men who are preyed on by women are not valid victims of s/a and how they should’ve enjoyed it or that only women can be victims (which is never true). Though keep in mind I’m not qualified to determine if the way the story conveys s/a and just abuse in general is shown accurately because I have not had these experiences myself but my heart goes out to the victims in the world who could resonate with Blue’s Story and I wish for nothing but happiness and peace for you guys. You all are very strong and deserved much better<3

I can tell Victation really touched people’s hearts and according to some people in the comments who are victims the story is pretty accurate to some experiences and some research has been put in this series which I heavily appreciate. So I’m happy people can feel seen with this!

So with this series I want to start off light and mention the animation- AND MY GOODNESS DOES THIS SERIES HAVE AMAZING ANIMATION!

I really love this art style that Vic has going on here

Like I said the gl2 designs seem to make the base and Vic uses their art skills to expand on it It really gives a dynamic feeling and you can hardly tell it’s gacha

Vic has a lot of dynamic poses and a great understanding of body language with these!

AND THE EXPRESSIONS<33 I LOVE THE WAY VIC DRAWS FACIAL EXPRESSIONS! IM SUCH A SUCKER FOR VERY EXAGGERATED AND STYLIZED FACES

And I’m not even showing the best parts! But I want to keep it as a surprise for those who are interested in watching the series. I just couldn’t stop praising the visuals enough! Vic is the most experimental gachatuber I’ve seen when it comes to the visuals!! I hope to talk with them sometime to get some tips or to post how their creative process works because THE ART IS SO GOOODDDDD! AND THE CHARACTER DESIGNS RADIATE SM PERSONALITY AND ADD TO THE SYMBOLISM AND UNDERTONES OF THE STORY! It’s so fun to see :D and the color associations are a very interesting character design choice! It helps add a very colorful look to what is otherwise a very heavy story and makes it very easy to distinguish the characters and give them certain color motifs. Anyway I want to talk about the characters in Blue’s Story! Mostly by order of their debut! And I’ll only talking abt the characters that have a big impact on Blue (So I won’t be talking abt Magenta or her brother) and the ones that don’t have a definite character (So the red eye people won’t be mentioned) Anyway now that that’s established the character I want to talk about first is well- Blue himself! After All this is his perspective we’re following

Also quick appreciation for the silly little Blues that Vic draws<3 Anyway Blue is the most interesting character I’ve seen in a gacha series. I like how Vic doesn’t use Blue as a representation or a role model for victims to take after but a person who goes through his own stories and has room to be human. You can see his descent in his own trauma and self loathing in his story. Which leads him to make mistakes and have a difficult time navigating his relationships and how to make meaningful connections. Seeing him go from confident and upbeat to quiet and reserved is so heartbreaking. What I find so great about Blue is that not everyone can relate to his situation but his thought process is near universal. I can relate to having to be in survival mode when it comes to relationships after being done dirty by different people. Not to mention people would do the same things Blue did, they just went through different experiences. It’s a really great touch to the writing. What’s also interesting I find about Blue are these different personas of different ways he handles the trauma caused by all these women.

This is sorta a mix of my interpretation of what these versions of Blue are plus what Vic actually calls them From left to right 1.Hypersexual Blue (confirmed) 2.Heart Eyes Blue (confirmed) 3. Reality Blue (not confirmed) 4. Cyan Blue (confirmed) 5. Numb Blue (not confirmed) I’ll expand more on these personas when I do a character study on Blue (which is something I REALLY wanna do sometime)

Next up is Pink Who is the first character we meet when Vic started this series

Pink is a married woman around Blue’s age who he engages in an affair with. And one of the women Blue has a significant relationship with throughout the series since Pink was the first one in the workplace to have her way with Blue. A truly manipulative bitch 💀 I don’t have much to say about her because Vic themself made a video discussing the women in Blue’s life and their thought process on writing them(?). So I’ll just give my thoughts! Pink is a very interesting case of the “Abused to Abuser” situation and not to mention how she’s not one dimensional. She’s an abuser to Blue but also a victim to a different man. (her husband) There are scenes where she is being a nice person (highlighted with her scenes with Lilac) but what’s preventing her from being good is her philosophy of how men cannot be victims. How could they be? To her the most heartless person she knows is a man, while it’s close minded, it’s understandable but not excusable why she perceives men this way. Which I find very interesting! There’s also a cool animation choice with her lipstick color! Her lips are white when she’s doing nice things or is not perceived as a bad person, then grey when it’s more neutral (I think) and finally black when she harms Blue. Hence why her kiss marks start from white to black.

What’s also interesting is that Blue pursues her first! Since he started out so confident and upbeat he wanted to try and shoot his shot with an attractive woman. But backs off when he learns that she’s married, but things didn’t go as planned. But I find it very interesting how that’s how things started. Next we have Purple who is the CEO or just the boss of the company Blue works in

Purple imo is definitely the most uncomfortable character to watch (what am I saying ALL the abusers make things uncomfortable to watch) but Purple just gives me a chill up my spine. Especially with her design, it has been confirmed by Vic that Purple is in her 40s and would prey on much younger people. First she attempted to prey on Red (who is confirmed to be 19), but was unsuccessful then went after Blue, and was successful.

Not to mention she’s very inconsiderate of her workers, example in the second part of “Baby Hotline”.

Up next we have Red! Who is my personal favorite in terms of how she is written and her design! (I do not condone her actions)

I love how Vic went for a more cutesy innocent look for Red!

But not without giving her sharp black nails to show how harmful she is

It really nails the message home on how anyone can be an abuser no matter how they look like. I also want to appreciate her little heart eye effect that Vic does with her that’s constantly looping like HOW DOES VIC DO IT- IT LOOKS SO DIFFICULT TO PULL OFF- I’m guessing it’s green screen With Red she is an obsessive stalker who has feelings for Blue and is constantly pursuing him even if he doesn’t return the feelings. It starts off as an innocent crush but turns into something more harmful. I don’t have much to say that’s not been said by Vic on their video. I just really want to appreciate how well designed she is and I rly like the heart motif she has. You can tell she’s a naive girl who can’t understand how harmful she is. I’ve met someone who was my equivalent to Red and while thankfully I had people who managed to protect me, doesn’t mean the harm did not get to me. While they were not as intense and Red, I was still being harassed verbally and I just didn’t feel safe. ALSO HOW DOES VIC DO HER HEART EYE EFFECT I NEED ANSWERS Now we have Lavender who is Blue’s SISTER

YEAH THATS RIGHT- SHE IS BLUE’S SISTER And I swear everytime I see her I just want to punch her in the goddamn face and wipe that stupid smile off her face- Lavender is an example of non-physical s/a and incest with how she had sexual thoughts about Blue and would show it through more subtle actions. Not to mention she’s also a bystander to Blue being abused by other women and doesn’t do ANYTHING about it. As an older sister myself with my own little brother- Lavender ENRAGES ME! I could never imagine doing what she did to my own brother. He drives me crazy but I’d protect him no matter what. What is fascinating about her design is definitely how her eyes are constantly closed, as if she’s turning a blind eye to the harm Blue is a victim of and/or how she’s hiding so many things. Especially with how she only opens her eyes when she’s preying on Blue.

SHE'S JUST AS TERRIFYING AS PURPLE Lastly we have Lilac! Who debuts in the same video as Lavender

WHO IS THE ONE PERSON THAT DOESN’T TREAT BLUE LIKE SHIT She’s a very fun character! She’s a single mom who works in the same company as Blue. She has a lot more significance in later installments so I won’t spoil but I just love her<3 She’s so sweet I just can’t- it’s such a breath of fresh air compared to the toxic waste Blue’s been getting from the other women. Her relationship with Blue is so interesting to watch and I am just rooting for them to at least stay friends.

(Also she looks so pretty here) AND THAT’S ALL THE CHARACTERS!!

Overall I really enjoy this series but I do have some gripes with it. The pace is definitely a bit much- so much can be happening in a span of a few mins. And there are stories that could rly benefit a longer time limit. This problem comes up most with “Baby Hotline” where I hardly understood what was happening. Like I got the gist but I didn’t get the specifics. It can be difficult to keep up with. So yeah the series could work with a longer timeframe- “Sweet Little Bumblebee'' is a great example! Not everything is too fast and everything makes more sense while “Baby Hotline” tried cramming a lot in one minute. Well the first part of ot, the second part of “Baby Hotline” was at a much better pace in my opinion but still a bit hard to keep up with at first.

Anyway in conclusion! Blue’s Story is a really interesting story that deserves the recognition it gets and is worth your time if you are into really deep stories with heavy subjects!

Some of the stickers Commissions of someone’s OCs I had a lot of fun making! I made a little step by step for how i animate loops like this here incase your interested in that ↓

HI :) ok so here’s my process for an animated commission gif, granted this is how I do most gifs but that’s the context to why I have all of these versions of this saved. I send each step to who ever commissions me to know if they have any notes or things they want changed, I sketch in ClipStudio and animate in TvPaint (the love of my life)

first step is the initial sketch based on the prompt of the commission, this is USUALLY  a little rougher and uglier then this, just to get the idea across

this is the ACTUAL sketch, this is what i will be animating on top of and basing the animation off of so i want to get as many details as i can here so i know where they will be later when im animating. (Normally I will send a color test at this point, but for these characters the colors seemed simple enough, sometimes I have to work at to figure out how to make certain color sets work better together and with the style i work in)

heres my roughs of the animation, this is most important to figure out how the thing is gonna move, working rough just to figure out timing and spacing. 

i add onto that more details and moving parts, now if YOUR SMART (not like me idk why i didnt do this) you should add AS MANY of your details on here as possible, much better to do it now when you can fix it and fuck around with it, rather then when your doing line art which needs to be clean

line art truly is the most tedious part of the process, theres very little fun here, you have to just get through it, i used to never think i could do clean line art in animation but practice has proved that to be wrong, as tedious as it is i love seeing all the nice clean lines as I’m a SUCKER for draftsmanship. the blue lines here indicate colors that aren’t going to have line art.

colors are the most rewarding part! It’s when you really see things look like what they are supposed to! i like to color the line art as well, add a gradient sometimes and give a thick dark border. It also helps to add a grey background while coloring so I can see the whites I’m using and making sure it looks fine against a neutral tone

Soul Easter For The Fandom Ask

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) - Probably Stein (with Spirit in close second. I'd say Spirit's my fav but I think about Stein more). Honestly both because I always had a fondness for scientist characters and because I find him super relatable (I mean- I'm a Stein introject so that last part goes without saying but even if I wasn't that'd be very true for us). I'm not going to get into it on detail with this post but since childhood we've dealt with real-world equivalents of a lot of the things he struggles with in canon. (gif via @/soul-dwelling)

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped) - Probably either Maka or Crona. Maka more-so from the early chapters of the manga and Crona moreso from the anime. I mean just look at how adorable they both are.

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) - MARIE. I think more people should be talking about Marie I love her so much. She's so silly and absolutely lovely and a total badass. I was so sad we didn't see more of her in the anime to the point that she directly was the character that motivated me to pick up the manga.

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) - Not obscure to the point listed in the prompt since she features a prominent role for a while, but I absolutely love Eruka. I put her here since I don't see a lot of people talking about her which is a shame. I love her snarky / silly personality and she has probably one of my favorite designs in the series. And I absoutely love her dynamic with Free!

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave) - Medusa, she doesn't fit in the pathetic part of this but oh boy is she "problematic" (moreso just straight up a terrible person) and controversial. That being said oh boy do I think about her a lot and enjoy her as a character. She sucks so bad. I think about her once and I'm in the torment nexus for the night (in a good way. I have many Thoughts on her.) A lot less importantly I would be lying if I didn't say she wasn't one of the few fictional women I have a crush on even though im a gay man. Overall just a big fan of when a woman is evil and terrible and oh boy is she evil and terrible. 10/10 (also im just a sucker for snake themed characters hehe)

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) - Spirit. I'm sending him to the torment nexus for 100 years. He's so silly and pathetic and I have the biggest crush on him that comes out as expressing the desire torment a good chunk of the time like I'm some sort of school child who teases their crush because they can't comprehend love yet.

oh my god where do i start….the beginning will do. i started and caught up in gc in two days and within one day i finished my replay. i finished this EXTREMELY detailed if 2x in the span of 3 days. ????? i’m speechless. i have zero words. i love this so much?? i love you and your brilliant brain what the heck????

the writing is impeccable, the characters are all so lovable i’m literally on the floor rolling around. AND THE WORLD LORE i’m a sucker for this stuff it’s so detailed, there’s quite literally a whole different world and i get transported in every damn time! the way mc’s hobby one way or another relates and contributes to their work,,,,, chefs kiss it’s so detailed i’ve been trying to dig up all the hidden details. like how my healer mc is good at doing stitches if she’s into needlework or how she soothes the patients if she’s into singing?? im in tears. i have devoured every crumb i could find and i feel like a caged animal at the zoo who’s shaking the bars of their enclosure to be let out every time i find something new. sorry does that come off as weird? im trying to convey how giddy this game has made me, its stewing in my head.

About Max (childhood):

due to Arlecchino often having to be away on Harbinger/ Fatui missions, Max was raised mainly by Furina. that said, Arle does try her best to be there for her daughter, spending time w her whenever shes free, and often brings Max little souvenirs from her travels.

while Max was a baby, Furina took a sabbatical from her directing work to raise her. she instilled in Max an appreciation of the arts, with her skillful reenactments, and puppet shows of various plays and stories. once Max is a bit older, Furina starts taking up jobs again, leaving her child in Neuvillettes care at the Palais Mermonia, and picking her up at the end of the day. Neuvi doesnt mind, as Max is a well-behaved kid and either brings books w her to read, or draws while shes there. Sedene and the other melusines take a shine to her, making sure Max never has a shortage of snacks and tea throughout the day.

About Martin:

Martin is her loyal canine companion. she found him as a puppy, tangled in some fishing nets. of course she begs her parents to take him in, and they acquiesce on the condition that he is her responsibility now. since then Martin never leaves her side, even accompanying her on Hearth missions

About Max (hobbies): Max really likes nature, and ever since she found Martin stuck in nets carelessly left behind by some fishers, she took to cleaning litter in her free time.

OH BOY IM GLAD YOU ASKED Note: If it's not listed as the first op it *could* have spoilers for the show.

Psycho Pass: Season 1 op 2 - I mean it's just so good. Down to the different colors and strange shots. Not to mention how the music syncs up with some of the movements. Unf

Gosick Op - Slowing it down a little, this one is pretty simple, but hell if its not cute. I love that its done like a pop-up book

Kokkoku Op - I like how simple but also strange this one is. Feels like they made the most out of a little

Tokyo Ghoul: Season 1 op 1 - It's a classic for a reason. When the chorus hits and the glass breaks its just so good

Shingeki No Kyoujin: Season 1 op 2 - High action synced entirely with the opening music- also shows a few spoilers that if you read in to you *might* get but will make sense after you've seen what happens. I love stuff like that

Sakamichi No Apollon Op - Another slower but classic one. The overlay of music notes is wonderful

Chainsaw Man Op - Love it or hate it they know how to make an anime opening. Paying homage to a bunch of movies while keeping all the characters entirely in... character is so fun. Lots of little details make this one even better

Oshi No Ko Op - The quality along with the music are bangin'- and im a sucker for songs written to describe the show

Bleach Op 13 - Shonen shows can really have some boring, generic openings- but I remember thinking how Bleach did this one with real style (too bad the show is ass)

Mirai Nikki OVA Op (Op 3) - I love an opening that knows it's an opening. It's a really fun way of introducing a large cast

Tengoku Daimakyou Op - The linework here is done so well, the "manic-ness" of it brings everything home

Zom 100 Op (full animated version) - This feels like a fun, classic opening. (also its nice the studio didnt force them to finish an opening until it was ready). The characters are goofy, the colors are fun, and the characters know they're in an opening which is fun!

Lucky Star Op - Speaking of classics- this one is huge. I mean its wildly goofy, but it aired during like a golden age of anime dancing and choreography in shows. Also, its still in memes today- (out of touch lol)

Toradora OP 1 - Bubbly and goofy, this one gives us a look at all the cast in a fun way which helps build their dynamics and characters before the show even starts. But the fun bubbles and color pops really sell it.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Season 2 op 1 - I'm mad at MAPPA for working it's employees like dogs, but damn if it doesn't show in this opening. This is how you do a new-style shonen op. But what absolutely sends me is the part at 1:14 where the music syncs were her little half hop wave. LOVE that stuff Anyhow those are just a few! Thank you for askin!

anyway, better late than never!

tsubasa tiger is the ultimate culmination of tsubasa's initial arc. its her finally learning to protect herself, to take responsibility for herself, rejecting her angelic perfection for just being a person.

one of the things i really appreciate about it is that it's from her perspective, not from araragis. her growth is something she has to see through herself, and araragis (probably lessened at this point but id imagine still definitely present) idolization of her isnt the lens we need to see her from. we need to see her humanized and you can't do that so much through his pov, or at least you can't do it as much as you need to. cough cough nisioisin stop writing araragi pov so much cough cough

the OP has an uplifting, inspiring, "i'm going to take charge of my life" vibe. but im absolutely in love with the ED. i'm a sucker for those bittersweet songs that feel like they've captured something so pretty and painful about life and don't shy away from it. and what is tsubasa tiger if not that, taking on everything

the letter scene is wonderful, moving, and i love the visuals for it. there's an extended version (wow!) here, with subtitles and voice acting. it might make you cry be careful! i teared up a little bit

a scene i want to talk about in more detail is at the end, where araragi comes and saves her at the last second. i say saves her but. the series hammers in again and again that no one can really "save" another person. if the person being "saved" doesn't let someone else in, doesn't accept their help, then there's no way for them to be saved. the hanekawa who accepted and sat in everything that came her way just couldn't be saved. it's only because hanekawa fought with kako and decided to save herself first, that she was able to get araragi to save her, that she was able to buy enough time for him to come and save her. it's beautiful, and it makes it more beautiful when she returns the favor later :)

unfortunately this is an anime only discussion of it, and a brief one because its been a while since i wrote that post about neko kuro. i havent read the light novels... id like to read them someday because i'm told theyre very good. did you know she's bisexual. woah she's bisexual i didn't know that. sucks they cut that part out of the anime

this FANTASTIC ask has been rotting in my inbox for months so here’s my current wealth of joker hcs. written on paper. in unintelligible handwriting

im sooo normal and regular about her <3 (transcript below cut)

thinking soo hard about my au joker. he's consuming my every waking thought! he lives in my brain!

soo I talked about her a little already but he's intersex and uses he/she pronouns :) his gender doesn't really exist she just does what she wants (whatever's funniest)

anyways she looks predominantly physically male - flat-chested, long-limbed, laryngeal prominence, etc. - but his hormone balance isn't super testosterone-heavy. like she can't grow bodily or facial hair (he does have eyebrows/eyelashes and a full head of hair though) and i believe he has a set of ovaries (but he can't get pregnant lol. he's sterile and doesn't have a vagina so they're kind of just in there)

other biological quirks include faster cell growth - like wounds heal faster and hair + nail growth is sped up - she also has a VERY strong immune system and rarely ever gets sick, has weird reactions to fear toxin + ivy's pheromones (+ a lot of prescription drugs and medical anaesthetics don't really work on him), she has a ridiculously high pain tolerance but feels it really acutely (he can just deal with a lot of it), has a lot of chronic nerve pain like a constant crackling surface pain (stolen from that one LKOE dracze fic) and part of her masochistic streak relates to the fact that strong pain breaks up the nerve pain (that and marginally faulty wiring), and she for some reason has reflective retinas like an animal! which is real spooky

her bleached skin is really thin + pale and you can see a lot of veins under it so he looks like a deep sea creature → she's also incredibly emaciated and looks real skeletal - his body mass is super low + it's kind of a medical mystery that he doesn't have some kind of fatigue disorder. I think it's something to do with how his body processes and stores nutrients. idk

before her first outing as 'the joker', he used to stalk bruce around the city when he was on patrol. she did this for maybe a year, and bruce would sometimes see him stood in alleys, perched on rooftops, watching him. bruce spotted her maybe a total of 12-15 times, and kind of doubted that he wasn't just hallucinating; it would've been an eerie image - a figure, ghostly white, skeletal, dressed in a hospital gown + sporting dead eyes and a head of long, straggly green hair - and bruce had only been on the job for about 2 years so he wasn't quite as paranoid yet. when joker first came to prevalence that's when bruce realised it was her :) idk i just want him to haunt bruce in a way that he can't shake similarly to the memory of her fall at ACE

also! some details from canon that I'd like to insert: ↓

- the birthday gifts thing: I really liked that idea and think it's a very joker thing to do - she also celebrates anniversaries (eg. their first fight, bruce's first outing as batman, joker's first major crime, the incident at ACE, etc.) he's sentimental :) - his affection for crossdressing (it isn't really crossdressing in this context but. whatever the instances of it are canon) i think it's neat idk i like seeing her visibly gnc - I wanna keep the wide shapes of a lot of storylines like europa + snyder's stuff (the bench universe, dotf and endgame, etc.) + devil's advocate + joker's apprentice + maybe chunks of deadly duo + broken city + other things - might contain (while credited) some stuff from fit as well bc i'm a total loser ← currently writing fic (like two step and you're by excuse to travel by synthwave + maybe sucker for pain by transformatron + green the colour of greed by distortopia + something these angels wear and with my toes on the edge by cultivation + chunks from other stuff) idk it's kind of difficult to ascertain the speed at which i want their relationship to escalate. we'll see! i definitely want something to have happened during europa (and I'm treating that dracze fic set in the bench universe as canon) but like. they might just be trapped in perpetual hell like in the comics. thanks bruce's morality - i also want to note that in this au literally most everything else is the same as in canon. I'm gonna be drawn to include my headcanons for all the characters and whatever but the batfamily is still constructed the same + jace still dies and babs is still paralysed + the JL is still established + at its core it's still the same thing :) while i'm here i want say though that it's likely i'll take the telltale route with bruce's parents having mob ties because i think that throws a fun moral wrench in the works for him to deal with - much of my interpretation of the joker is based on a grant morrison's interpretation of him. morrison is such a majorly influential writer for me and their description of joker in the arkham asylum cut script notes was tbh my major inspiration for this version of joker :) like that thing they said: "pale and emaciated, he should look simply grotesque but standing there, hand on thrust-out hip, he projects an absolute confidence that confers upon him a bizarre kind of attractiveness and sexuality. it is the attraction of the perverse and the forbidden." - btw. i wanna make a point to include matches malone in my canon. bruce actively uses the matches persona :)

i wanted to detail her weird physical appearance mostly for the sake of the image of him in Arkham; no makeup, no costume, no way for her to dress himself up. he struggles a lot with her image + not feeling attractive or desirable (very 'if i gave up on being pretty i wouldn't know how to be alive') and arkham makes him very unstable because he has no way of controlling the way he's seen

he also has a prosthetic eye like in the comics :) i'd like to think she lost her eye in an altercation with bruce and it helps tie bruce's morality to the joker - whenever bruce sees him, it reminds him of how much harm he causes. lol! i LOVE torturing bruce he's such an interesting character giggles :)

btw for the record i'd also like to state that i consider bruce and joker's relationship to be inherently sadomasochistic in nature. considering joker's canonically a masochist and gets off on what bruce does to him + bruce recognises this and continues to pursue her just the same. they're SO interesting to me

i also believe the thing from the comics about joker's worldview; that she believes he and batman are the only real people in the whole universe. i think it provides such an interesting perspective on his actions - (in that context) he crucially doesn't see the people he kills as people, but rather like. tools. symbols. i think it really communicates the central conflict of his character idk i think it's interesting

on a less deep note, he has a thing for clothing and makeup. she has HEAPS of it stored in warehouses + stuff. he's really good at concealing her safehouses so a lot of it goes undiscovered. he gets his foundation from japanese theatre companies bc they're the only places that do it light enough lol. also important to note that he wears garters + sock suspenders + shirt stays + corseting + structured undergarments + heels + super complex layers of clothing. he prides herself on the craft of it :)

she really takes pride in her performance + the way she's seen - her whole life, his whole career is one big performance. there's very little underneath 'the joker'. he doesn't know who she is, he has no life before bruce, no name, no identity, nothing outside of her fixation on the batman. he was ther at ACE that night (she believes he is - or at least his negligence is - what made her) and joker really clings to batman as a point of stability and focus because, unlike bruce, he has nothing outside of his persona. the batman is bruce wayne (shocker) - he has a life, people he loves - but joker has nothing. that's part of the reason joker's so desperate to ignore that bruce has a 'real identity' and is so defensive of people discovering it; as well as meaning the destruction of batman, it would also remove joker of her ability to deny that there is a person behind batman. he wants so badly to believe that this is all bruce has - that HE is all bruce has - just as is true for him. beneath it all, she just wants to be loved. she just wants to not be alone.

sigh! that was a lot! i don't wanna make him just a deep, dark, brooding character that's BORING that's bruce's job lol. loser. anyways she can be silly too he has whimsy in her soul as well :) i believe soo intensely in DC's ability to be a silly universe because it's inherently so stupid as a concept so to me silly guy joker is real <3 they can have fun

joker getting roped in on justice league stuff is soo personal to me let her be helpful let him make fun of the JL and their stupid missions :)

btw. for future reference he is in no way attracted to women (sorry yuri joker) his relationship with harley (+ MAYBE punchline. strong maybe. only as his protégé) is PURELY manipulative and joker NEVER thought of or treated her sexually or romantically. there's still gonna be animosity there though lol because he still abused and manipulated harley and she still thought joker loved her, but the fact remains that he isn't even vaguely attracted to women so! idc punchline likers so somewhere else lol

another thing from canon (devil's advocate) i'd like to steal is the fact that joker sleeps with his henchmen :) it's real to me

she has a lot of silly pseudo-crushes on a lot of other characters (like lex luthor + bane + lobo + killer croc + superman + what have you. he's a slut what can i say) but none of them will EVER be bats! they know their place and it's NOT in murder-suicide love with her

Okay, so the first realm of the 16 realms was the oni and the dragon. The dragon had the power to create, and the Oni to destroy. Then a child, the first spinjitzu master I assume, was born and understood balance. The child left the realm to start a new one called Ninjago.

I keep forgetting that Vengestone can ACTUALLY be stable against the ninjas powers. And apparently there seems to be a LOT of it since everytime their locked up its used. Its used by the police force and if Villains have it, then I can assume its at least a product in the black market.

I dont know. vengestone just seems so fascinating to me. I really hope a villain comes along and uses the properties of vengestone to conquer the ninjas powers, leaving them to fight powerless. I think thatd be really cool.

im a sucker for overanalyzing sonic content like a dumb internet review person. i love looking at the little details in animation or seeing how characters act

like tails' ear movements are very cute and i like how he isnt dependant or a coward. he can stand up for himself and he knows when hes right. he doesnt need sonic to lean on or ask him for help. also nine tails kicked ass i love nine tails

rouge is probably my fav. her redesign is very unique but its very pretty. her movements are sudden and her poses/gestures are very confident or feminine(she kinda reminds me of grell hehe). also when she was sleeping like a bat it was so cute <3

knuckles is a little disappointing bc so far he seems to act the same as he has been. all brawn no brain. its sad because he is genuinely smart but his naiveness is just changed to stupidity. the second movie characterized him really well because he was strong and even though he didnt understand some things, that wasnt because he wasnt smart.

from what ive seen of amy, she isnt a fangirl of sonic anymore, which i never thought would ever happen. its a bit jarring at times but i like her having more character than just "omg!! sonic!!!!!"

K so going straight for JL:U was a mistake, apparently. I chose it bc I'm p sure B:TAS and S:TAS have crossovers that I didn't yet want to deal with. But. I should've at least gone for the animated Justice League series before JLU. I didn't know there was such a thing or that there was a difference. I may switch to JL after the current JLU arc ends. I mean I knew I was missing context, but I figured it either came from B/STAS or there was just a time shift where Things Happened. Regardless, now I know. Maybe I'll do it the right way 'round, the long way. I mean I'm a sucker for a chronological universe. Marvel has me wrapped around their little finger in that way (I'm dreadfully behind on Marvel movies).

Sheesh I just looked up the first season of BTAS and there are SIXTY FIVE EPISODES. I ain't never gettin back to Midsomer at this rate (happy to have a comfort show/universe tho).

Last night I had a dream where one of the potential advisors I applied to work under who I haven't thought about in months (and ultimately declined) punched me in the nose and I was so shocked I woke up. There are other details but that's the weirdest and most pertinent one I'd like to record.

Lastly, after class today my dept chair told me (conversationally, I should add) that some of his previous research had disproven the usefulness of the methods I talked about yesterday lol. Like,,,,, im sorry but how am I supposed to respond to that??? ??? Anyway I guess I have to read/skim his paper/s on it and go to office hours because it was clearly an invitation to chat about it further (he has mentioned before that no one comes to his office hours lol).

Today I'm thankful that the ramen I made tonight was pretty good. I'm learning little tips from these noodle places (mine wasn't quite as good, but tastier than what I've done previously).

prepare for an entire novel please because ive just finished sinner and i have so much to say. tl;dr its my favourite thing in the world thank you for writing it.

i dont know what that story did to me honestly. ive never EVER felt so..... viscerally from something written. its insane. it made me feel so numb for so long and then it made me Feel and i feel like i just went through the entire rollercoaster with dazai. it made me cry and it made my chest so so painfully tight and it made my body go numb and it made me stop caring about anything in the world aside from just. that. reading that.

i am an absolute sucker for tiny touches and gestures that feel incredibly significant. obviously, sinner is packed full of those, and i am LIVING- its so slow and meticulous and particular and everything is so significant and its SO SLOW I WISH I COULD WRITE LIKE THIS. so so slow, the way everything happens. so dragged out and full of suspense and anxiety and i cannot explain how much i adore it.

i dont know why but. the thing that made me audibly gasp and cover my mouth like i was in a movie was when dazai said "mori likes it when i play doll". i cant scream enough about it. i had to drop everything and scream at my friends about it. i cannot explain the sheer Emotion. i dont know why, i dont KNOW when after everything thats happened that just seems so silly and mild but just. it really highlights how no matter how absolutely horrible fyodor was and how much he broke dazai, dazai got there already broken. it comes so suddenly its like seven punches in the gut and then several kicks when i was already on the floor wheezing. then a bus, rolling over my entire body. twice. made my spirit leave my body for multiple minutes before i was ready to continue.

and yes the chuuya x akutagawa parts were absolute gold i am obsessed i have never thought about that ship in my life but i will never stop thinking about it ever again.

That is ACTUALLY crazy about the Mori line because I HIGHLY debated taking that out 😂 the entire chapter really, but mostly that line felt so corny and I was like “am I pushing it??” But now I feel great about it. So thank you.

What you said about the TINIEST touches feeling gigantic is also MY favorite thing (no surprise) and I really had never discovered that as a possibility until anime as a genre, and how that brought out a lot of subtleties feeling like pillars of emotional damage and/or healing. Whenever I write anything, I want this the most. And it really worked out for Sinner.
