my fav beatles fun fact gotta be that Lady Madonna was based on this image of a Vietnamese woman back in the late 60s. i like to see this song as a counterpart of Blackbird (although Your Mother should know is also relevant). grew up learning about my culture and history, literature about women's sacrificing and devoting life for their husbands, their children, their mothers, their fathers, even their later grandchildren, i appreciate that Paul wrote the song for every Mothers in the world, especially the Western Highlands' Ê-đê Mother (an ethnic minority group in Vietnam) during the Vietnam-against-the-US-war, who was the direct inspiration behind the song.
there is a Vietnamese poem that has similar meaning to the song: "Khúc hát ru những em bé lớn trên lưng mẹ" (roughly translated as Lullaby for the babies on Mother's back) by poet Nguyễn Khoa Điềm (written in 1971), which is also about the beloved Mountain Madonna, the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers - Bà Mẹ Việt Nam Anh Hùng. the Mother couldnt live the baby alone in the house, so she wrapped her child in a cloth on her back, and then she went to harvest the corns while her baby slept on her back. i remember learning this poem in school, of how Mother brings her child to everywhere, from the slightest work to drudgery. Nguyễn Khoa Điềm wrote this poem in a form of a lullaby from the Mother to her baby. (remind me of golden slumber and goodnight)
its kinda sad to learn that Epstein was too frustrated about their public appearance (i mean i would be too those bitches didnt just tell the American they were bigger than Jesus) that he didnt let them write much song related to my country's occurring war, but Johnny and Yoko still stood up and let we hear their voice about this terrible crime. i love to know that my country's revolution is heard, is relevant even til now, still remain a valuable lesson and a demand for peace of every proletariats all over the world.
"It’s another piece of insanity. It’s all part of the same insane scene that’s going on. There’s nothing else for it… no reason, just insanity"
"You can’t keep quiet about anything that’s going on in the world"

ill be honest as much as i love to criticise the use of fatphobia for comedy ill never be able to hold the fatphobic jokes in kung fu panda against it
like yea those movies are guilty of dipping into The Usual Tropes for a cheap laugh but not only is the character writing for the fat characters the strongest and most sympathetic ive Ever seen literally just the character designs of the pandas in the 3rd movie get me choked up sometimes. theyre all so appealing and clearly treated with the same care and attention as everyone else without copping out and making them Barely Fat. po is already a size that doesnt exist in film protags and hes still the thinnest person in that whole village and that meant a lot to me

I keep thinking about Merlin’s love for Arthur and how it’s so clearly portrayed in the show to the point that it practically drives the plot of the show. However when it comes to Arthur’s love for Merlin it’s more subtle and sometimes difficult to even grasp, and I started thinking why that was, aside from the obvious fact that Arthur has a lot of trouble expressing his emotions affection or otherwise. I think it also lies in the fact that Merlin knows Arthur intrinsically throughout the show; he is one of the closest people to Arthur, and sees him for who he really is. Arthur admits as much.
Sure, Arthur knows Merlin but the main part of the plot is that he really doesn't know Merlin. Merlin wants him to desperately understand him and “see me for who I am” but he can't yet. And I think this subconsciously creates a barrier in the way in which Arthur can care for Merlin, and how Merlin can let himself be seen by Arthur.
Which is why I think he was also so hurt when the magic reveal happens because more than the betrayal of Merlin having magic, it was the betrayal of Merlin not letting Arthur see him for who he really is and for hiding a main part of himself. Arthur says it himself “why did you never tell me” that’s what hurt him the most.
I think the most damning piece of evidence for this is the fact that while we see snippets of Arthur’s feelings for Merlin thought the show, the biggest signs are in the last episode after the magic reveal; in which he finally gets to understand Merlin, and this time REALLY know Merlin, and as the barriers of what held them back from understanding each other truly fall away, Arthur evidently “falls in love with Merlin all over again”. We see him actually express himself to Merlin.
This is another reason why I think if anyone was ever to create another season of Merlin after Arthur’s return, it’s physically impossible not to make it about Merlin and Arthur acknowledging their feelings for each other. Because there is no way forward without them acknowledging how deeply they care for each other, obviously anyone is free to argue what kind of love that is, but its impossible not to see the deep love there either way.
They always knew they loved each other, just maybe never realising how much and what that means, because its almost second nature to everything that they do.

Call me crazy for reading so much into a show like House MD but I think the main theme of House is that despite doing everything perfectly and being a good person, shit happens.
Sickness and pain will be inflicted on you and your loved ones and there's nothing you can do about it, but to persevere, to fight for your life, to keep living despite it all - to love is a part of the human condition; our capability of love is what makes life worth living, despite all the pain that you will inevitably experience.
This show exemplifies the pain of living and the needs and desires of human beings to keep going despite it all
And idk... There's something beautiful about how a show with so many stupid whimsical dumb scenes can impart something so profound in my stupid little brain

I keep seeing people say that Kaveh and Alhaitham are incompatible and I'm just like... no u don't get it. They are so compatible that I'm convinced they're literally made for each other. They're both so incredibly stubborn but underneath all the bickering, they clearly have a ton of respect for each other and recognize each other's intelligence. It's because of both that mutual respect and their directly opposing worldviews and ideals that make them both pretty much the only people that are capable of influencing good and meaningful change in the other. Kaveh brings the empathy and artistry that Alhaitham needs while Alhaitham keeps Kaveh grounded. Alhaitham always seems so much more relaxed in every scene where he interacts with Kaveh. Alhaitham is pretty much the only person that Kaveh doesn't feel the need to go full people-pleaser with (excluding the occasional client that really manages to piss him off). They're actually perfect for each other.
