Hi I got 84 in the last two weeks, starting to run out of food money. Absolutely no gas money to get anywhere but yknow. Maybe the temp agency I'm talking to will give me some tolerable job tomorrow and I can ask a bus driver to let me on for free. ("Not my fault if you get a ticket." has been a common response.)

So, picture Cody Burns, 8 years old. His family loves him dearly, but they’re not always around, not anymore. He never knew his mom and his siblings always helped take care of him when his dad was away, saving people. Then, Kade became a firefighter. Then, Dani became a helicopter EMT. Then, Graham became a rescue engineer.

Then, Cody was alone.

Not— not all the time. Sometimes all of his family was home, though that in itself was rare and usually around dinner time. Sometimes it was just one or two siblings. Sometimes it was none, and he would go to Frankie’s house and Doc Greene would help him when the others were out. It was great, meant he got to spend time with his best friend and her cool dad. But, sometimes… he got lonely.

He made friends with the quiet, learned to watch his family from the sidelines, getting skimped over by the media when he was with them, barely a blip on their radar when the real heroes of the day were there. It was almost a relief, sometimes, holding Doc or (at least in the past) Graham’s hand while the rest of his family chatted away to the cameraman, professional, curt, and a little showboaty respectively. While Graham could watch with him from the side, Cody’s eyes could wander, watch the ways people’s eyes usually skimmed right over him and Graham. The last time someone made a fuss about him was when he was born, and he doesn’t even remember that!

Cody knows, he understands, he gets it, that his family does very important work, saving people’s lives day in and day out, and that he’s still too young to do much else other than welcome them home after a long day.

Someone mentioned how they should put qphil back in the birdhouse when ccphil leaves for Brazil later this week, and like. Now I can’t stop thinking about if qphil has a normal day on qsmp on Wednesdayand it doesn’t seem like anything is going to happen, and then when he goes to bed and simply wakes up in the birdhouse.

No fanfare, no explanation. Just a fade to black and a fade back into the birdhouse, like it’s the most natural thing.

And so qphil has to sit there and think wait a minute. So is—so is the birdhouse a dream? Or was me escaping the birdhouse a dream? Or are they both dreams? Dreams within dreams? Or two separate dreams slotted together, overlapping? And what about the Island? My Hardcore world? Was everything before the birdhouse a dream too? Was that world ever real? Was it ever mine?

i want to see exactly how many people actually have thought i am for research because ive gotten this quite a few times from different people i just wanna see how far it goes

thank you!! and as much as i love the idea of them cooking together, i think it would be safer better if only one of them cooks and the other is just there in the kitchen as well for company. because it could either end up with them working really well or end up with them bumping into each other a lot and something gets burnt and a lot of yelling happens (definitely not projecting rn). so i think they'd decide on who cooks or just order takeout if they're too tired to cook.
