after a full night's sleep after watching the finale, i have decided that tom is my favorite character in mianite s1 because:

here's the thing, ok? the server was tucker's baby and he and sonja were mianite. jordan invented a whole goddess out of spite. but the rest of them stayed loyal no matter what. their gods let them peacefully coexist with their friends and form alliances.

tom? Tom didn't get any of that.

tom was always desperate for dianite's approval from the get-go. throughout the series, he went from "being on team dianite means i get to be an asshole with no consequences" to "i am literally chilling with everybody and we're all buds here wait who said that" but even with that, he still slingshotted back to dianite's side the second the god came online, doing everything he said at the cost of his reputation and burning the bridges he'd built.

he turned on them mid-fight several times despite showing visible hesitation later on in the season, was the first one to snitch on furia at dianite's behest, and still didn't earn his trust because dianite knew that when he wasn't watching, tom was actually forming his own relationships with the other players and characters.

and then i got to the finale and lost my mind because ok

right before the fight, when dianite initially joined, tom went right back to that familiar pattern of being all like AYY MY MAIN MAN HE'S HERE and everyone else was IMMEDIATELY on guard. jordan reminded him that they were all on one side against Furia here. tom even pretended like he was going to betray them all, however, i think that he was legitimately conflicted about it because he Says It Himself that he only got halfway through eating the apple before changing his mind. and you can hear the uncertainty in his voice when he's like "haha got you all it was a joke i would never do that"

when dianite dropped the "Homie? Pfft. I'm no homie to you!" and everyone was like "wow, Tom, he just totally abandoned you" without ACTUALLY TURNING ON HIM FOR IT, just acknowledging it and moving on, i think that was the moment where it finally clicked for Tom that oh. dianite never actually cared about me at all. i was just a means to an end and this is the end.

'cause he'd gotten all of this armor and this epic gear. he'd basically been dianite's main man down on earth, carrying out every single thing he asked of him dutifully, but he'd never actually gotten anything... back? hell, dianite had told JORDAN he was proud of him before he'd told TOM.

so when THIS happened

I LOST MY SHIT.

This was slowly being built up to the ENTIRE TIME and I hadn't even NOTICED it.

like, I just want to highlight here that it wasn't Tucker who struck the last blow, or Sonja, or even Jordan. that would have made sense right because all of them were allied AGAINST dianite. actually, i would have expected tom to be fighting For him, but no-

it was tom who killed dianite. his own god. and he got the last key. they couldn't have done it without him. he was important the entire time because he got out of the bear trap and decided at the last second to fight for the ones who actually mattered to him: his friends and allies.

hell, jordan actually asks him how he's doing a few moments before he realizes the mantle has been passed onto him and tom responds with "pretty upset, actually" because what does he do now? where does he go from here? i imagine everyone else celebrating that dianite's gone, jordan sorting through his stuff, and tom just sort of standing there staring at the spot where his god's body was lying a mere second ago, his bow lying on the ground where he dropped it, just Processing what he just did.

of course that doesn't last for very long because tom soon realizes that dianite's power was passed onto him,

but like even This has implications. tom's name is still red. he's still loyal to Dianite but if you think about it, this means he's on his own side now. i kept watching closely even after this waiting for him to betray everyone else and mess the whole operation up, but he never does! he sticks with them.

even during the finale, tom remains the only person to have been killed by all three gods, and he's the only person who ever killed one himself.

so yeah. Character of all time. According to my friend Jupiter who's seen the entirety of all three seasons, this entire thing is never addressed again, so I'm gonna go like. get dressed do some embroidery and make myself a cup of tea then watch the first episode of jordan's s2 just so that i can see how it starts and go fix that by writing something about it 👍

You’re sitting in the break room at the table with Barb and Melissa. You get up to get a coffee and when you do you hear someone starting to talk about Doctor Who and you perk up.

You turn around to see Jacob, Mr. Morton and another teacher talking about it. “You guys watch Doctor Who?” You say and they stop talking and look up at you. Normally you’re quiet and don’t really say much as you’re recharging before you go and have to teach your kiddos again.

“Yes, do you watch it?” Jacob asks you and you nod with a big smile. Melissa looks up at you and sees your smile and she can’t help but smile herself. She’s had a crush on you since about 4 months after you started and it’s almost been 9 months that you’re working here.

“Well come here and share your thoughts about it.” Jacob says and you walk over to them, coffee in hand.

“What exactly is your discussion about?” You ask them.

“About the first female doctor, the 13th doctor.” Mr. Morton says and you keep smiling.

“She’s my favourite doctor! Like she’s so enthusiastic and passionate and she just loves everything about what she does! And she’s so funny too, it’s just a joy to watch Jodie play her!” You start and they look at you confused, wondering why you’ve always been quiet but now you’re talkative.

The truth is, you're autistic and the only one that knows is Melissa and she promised not to tell anyone since it’s your secret not hers. You told her because you felt like you kept missing social cues or taking things too literally, so you wanted someone in your corner to help you and she had no problem doing that for you. She looks at you talking so passionately about your favourite show with a smile and heart eyes before going back to her phone, secretly still listening to you.

“And her Tardis is so amazing, oh and her companion’s compliment her so well, and her outfit looks amazing. Did you know that Jodie helped decide on the outfit to support the LGBTQ community since she’s a huge ally. And also…” and you keep going on for about 5 minutes about how much you love the 13th doctor and her era on Doctor Who. Until the other teacher, you don’t know their name, the one Mr. Morton and Jacob were talking too, says something.

“OMG! Would you please shut up!” He says and you quickly shut your mouth. “I preferred it when you didn’t speak at all.” He says, glaring at you. And you look down at the ground, embarrassed before running out of there.

Melissa looked up when he started speaking and is now getting up and walking over to them. “Hey! Don’t talk to her like that. You should count yourself lucky that I won’t contact one of my guys on you.” She says and looks at Jacob. “Why didn’t you say anything?!?” She says to him “or you?” She says to Mr. Morton.

“Sorry Melissa, it all happened so fast.” Mr. Morton says and Jacob nods in agreement.

“You should be ashamed of yourself!” She says to the teacher that was mean to you.

“Hey, we were just sitting here talking about it until she cuts in and starts talking about everything that we weren’t even discussing. And she wouldn’t stop talking.” The teacher says , only making a deeper hole for himself. Melissa glares at him.

“I don’t care what you think! There’s better ways to do that!” She says to him.

“She shouldn’t have talked so much and knew that it was too much.” He says, still trying to defend himself.

“She’s autistic you stronzo!” She yells at him and then realises that she just told your secret and has wide eyes. All 3 of them look at her speechless, now understanding that you got excited and were info dumping and didn’t mean to talk so much. Melissa turns around and walks out of the break room and goes to find you.

She ends up finding you in your classroom crying on your chair, hugging your legs. She knocks on the door, “hey y/n it’s me, just wanted to come check on you.” She tells you.

You get up and unlock the door then open it. Melissa’s heart breaks a bit when she sees you. Eyes puffy, red and watery, tear stained cheeks and red nose from you blowing your nose.

“Oh hun.” She says and you walk back to your chair hugging your legs again. Melissa walks in and closes and locks the door then walks over to your desk. “Hey, he was an ass, he shouldn’t have said that to you.” Melissa tells you and crouches down and you look at her.

“No, he’s right, I was talking too much. I shouldn’t have gotten involved in their conversation. I just got so excited,” you tell her and you sniffle a bit.

“Hun, it’s understandable, I know how much you love Doctor Who. You have nothing to be ashamed about.” She tells you and grabs your hand. “Btw I might have accidentally told them that you’re autistic. As in I told them and called that teacher a stronzo for you.” She tells you. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for it to slip out, I just got angry that he was mean to you.” She says, rubbing your hand with her thumb.

“It’s ok, they would have found out eventually. But this is another reason I don’t engage in conversations, cause I might talk too much.” You tell her. Melissa gets up and opens her arms out.

“Come here.” She tells you and motions to hug her. You put your feet down on the ground and then hug her waist since you’re still sitting in your chair. “Why don’t we go back in there, finish lunch. And then after school you can come to my place and I can make you some food and we can watch whatever you want.” She suggests and you look at her surprised.

“Really?” You ask her and she nods. “I would love that.” You tell her and she smiles. She helps you up and then unlocks the door and opens it for you. You both walk out and she sees you’re nervous about going back. She puts an arm wrapped around your back and her other hand on the arm closes to her and rubs it, providing comfort for you.

You get back in and when you enter everyone stops and looks up at you. Melissa can feel you immediately tense up. “What are all youse looking at?” She says and glares at everyone. Everyone immediately looks back down to their phone or food and continues what they were doing. Melissa leads you back to the table where Barb is and Barb gives you a comforting smile.

The teacher that was mean to you gets up and comes over to you. Melissa sees him coming over and glares at him, almost daring him to hurt you again. He has his head hanging a bit, looking embarrassed and stands beside you and you look up at him.

“Hey y/n, I just wanted to apologize to you. I shouldn’t have said what I said to you, I’m sorry.” He tells you and you nod your head at him. You’re too overwhelmed right now and can’t speak. You finish your lunch without saying another word and Melissa keeps glancing at you, worried about you.

You finish up the day quietly. You get the kids to work on their book report so that it’s silent and you don’t have to talk much. At the end of the day, when your last student was picked up you glance over at Melissa down the hall. You taught first grade so your classrooms are close together.

You can’t help but stare at her. She’s bending over and offering one of her students a high five before waving bye to them to go with their parent. You decide to leave now while she’s distracted, you think that maybe it wasn’t the best to get Melissa involved in your situation and shouldn’t have told her you’re autistic. So many people have had to accommodate you or help you and you feel like you should be able to do it yourself now that you’re an adult.

Melissa sees you look at her with a sad expression on your face before leaving. She can’t help but feel like maybe you won’t come over to her place now. When her last student is leaving with their parent a couple minutes later, she practically books it to the parking lot but sees your car is already gone.

She drives home and gets to work on cooking dinner, hoping you’d show. But then she gets a text from you saying that you won’t be able to make it tonight, and she sighs. She researched autism when you told her a few months ago and she knows that when autistic people get overwhelmed, they hide themselves away. She offered for you to come to her place to de-stress with food and tv, so she does the next best thing. After she finished cooking, she packed it into a container, and brought it with her to your place. She went and knocked on your door.

You answered it not too long later with leggings and loose shirt on. “Melissa? What are you doing here?” You ask her.

“Well since you won’t come over to my place, I thought I’d come to you.” She says with a warm smile and you now feel even more guilty for cancelling on her. “I brought over food I made. So either we can eat here or we can go back to my place. Choice is up to you.” She tells you with a shrug. You decide to go to her place and when you get there she gives you your favourite hoodie of hers and you sit on the couch. You’ve been to her place before and you told her that the plastic felt weird to sit on and she removed it the next day so that you’re comfortable when you go there. “Hey, you don’t have to speak but I just want to know that you’re ok.” She says and you nod. She gives you a plate of the food and you see that it’s her spaghetti and meatballs dish. Your favourite food of hers and you smile at her. She joins you on the couch, sitting next to you and then hands you the remote so you can decide what to watch, you decide on Shrek 3.

You watch the movie while eating, with Melissa right next to you, you in her hoodie, and you finally feel like you’re calming down. You put your head on her shoulder after you put your empty plate on the coffee table and she wraps her arm around you. You continue the movie, quoting some of the lines, and when it plays the ending scene with puss and donkey singing thank you, Melissa gets an idea. She guides you up and leads you to the empty space beside her couch and starts dancing with you. When the chorus comes on she sings it to you “I wanna thank you for lettin me be myself…again” She sings and you laugh. When she says the line again, she spins you while singing. The second chorus comes up “come on sing it with me.” She tells you.

The both of you sing it while dancing “I WANNA THANK YOU FOR LETTIN ME BE MYSELF…AGAIN.” You both sing at the top of your lungs. When it ends you’re both laughing and she hugs you.

“Thank you for letting me be myself.” You tell her and she looks at you with a warm smile and places a lock of hair behind your ear before cupping your cheek.

“It’s not a problem hun, it doesn’t matter to me that you’re autistic you know. You just think differently, and that's alright.”

You look in her eyes and you lean forward and kiss her. Melissa kisses you back and moves her hand from your cheek to the back of your head and places her left hand on your waist. You pull back and look at her with a smile.

“You kissed me back.” You say to her and she nods. “Why?”

“Because I like you. I have for a few months now.” She tells you.

“For how long?” You ask her and she thinks about it.

“Around the new year.” And you look at her in shock.

“But that’s after I told you I was autistic.” You tell her, putting the pieces together. “You knew I was autistic and you still like me?” You question her.

“How would you being autistic make me not like you?” She asks you, confused.

“Because I’m different than other people and have struggles because of it.” You tell her like it’s obvious.

“So? Everyone is different in their own way and everyone has their own struggles.” She tells you. “For example, I have trouble letting people in, because of trust issues. And I can have a short temper too.” She says and you look at her with so much love in your eyes. You kiss her again and she doesn’t hesitate to kiss you back.

When the person says “you may kiss the bride” , she doesn’t hesitate to give you a kiss then either. With a huge smile, she brings you closer to her and gives you a kiss, as wife and wife.

Okokok this is going to be very unstructured but sh

Ok so despite their name, they're not actually squid, infact they're probably closer to octopuses are in. And well, they were initially (and wrongly) classified as cirrate octopuses (like the flapjack octopus). And you can sorta see why really

So they're not squid, they're not octopuses but they are cephalopods, their own group of cephalopod of which they are the only known member. Their classification was rectified about the 1940s or 1950s. And this was in a German expedition whose purpose was to prove there was life below whatever number of metres, I can't remember how deep it was.

Anyway, they get about 30cm and live at depths around 600m-1200m (sorry idk how much that is in the imperial system). And they live in practically any the oceans in oxygen minimal zones/the oxygen minimal layer. In the OML there's very very little oxygen, like 5% oxygen or smth. That can be bc of circulation in the oceans and that water just isn't moved around as much (there's a name for those little pockets of ocean but I can't remember it). But they have blue blood that is copper based (?) and it binds oxygen really well. I don't know much about that bc I'm not much of a chemistry guy. But they also just use very little energy and have lots of surface area on their gills to absorb as much oxygen as they can.

They have remained largely unchanged for like 300 million years which is cool. In captivity they have been recorded to live for about 2 months but it's estimated they live for almost a decade in the wild.

Now they're called "the vampire squid from hell" (that's what their scientific name translates to) bc of their appearance. The red colour, the large red eyes (that are actually clear but appear blue or red in certain lighting) and the fleshy cirri (little spike things) that lines their webbing. When they are threatened they pull their webbing over their head and it makes them look scary and pointy but really the cirri is soft and squishy.

I'm gonna go back to the eyes for a second bc they are huge compared to the 'squids' body. Like pretty sure they're the biggest eyes compared to body size in any animal or smth. Really cool.

Oh and btw they do have suckers as well but only small ones on the furthest half of the arms from the body. Argh I want to talk about the arms but I want to finish talking about defence mechanisms first. ILL GET BACK TO THE ARMS!!

Ok so they have really weak muscles so their ass is not going anywhere fast, which is a problem when things are trying to eat you (things like sharks, larger cephalopods, fish, and even some diving whales). Their top speed is like 2 body lengths per second. So apart from the spines, they also have some bioluminesence up their sleeves. They have two large light organs on top of their head that kinda look like eyes and one on each end of their arm. So when they pull up their webbing around them and you look at them from the 'top' BAM suddenly you've got lots of scary eyes looking at you. Also they don't squirt ink but do squirt a sticky bioluminesent goo that either distracts the predator, or sticks to the predator so and even bigger predator comes along and eats them. I think this goo can stay glowing for about 10 minutes? I'm not sure. Im pretty sure that this is symbiotic bioluminescene tho, which is where the animal cultivates glowing bacteria to use rather that mixing all the chemicals for bioluminecense in their body themselves.

Ok ok ok arms and 'tentacles'. So they have 8 arms yeah but no tentacles. Instead they have two looonnngggg filaments that they store in little pockets in their body

You can see one there. These are like 8 times their body length and they connect directly to the 'squids' brain.

FOOD!! Unlike pretty much every other cephalopod ever, they are detrivores, which means they eat essentially garbage. Rotting organic matter known as marine snow and literal shit. They way they eat this is they catch the detritus with sticky cells on their filaments and use mucus to make it into something more easy to pass into their beak.

We don't know a whole lot about their breeding and stuff but the males pass a sperm packet to the female for storage so she can fertilise her eggs when she likes. When the babies hatch they are very teeny and don't have their webbing yet. The parents don't tend to their children at all and until they can feed themselves, they eat their egg sacs. They grow pretty slow bc there's not many nutrients and stuff available for them in the deep.

A cool thing about the babies is that when they hatch, they have one pair of swimming fins, then as they grow they develop a second pair, and then eventually they loose (its absorbed into their body, cant waste it) the first pair and just have their second pair. Sorta like we have adult and baby teeth

Another thing that sets them apart from other cephalopods is that they reproduce multiple (up to 20) times in their life, until they die. Other cephalopods usually die after the first time. This makes them iteraparous, while other cephalopods are semelparous.

Ok almost done I promise. A few more things:

-adults use their fins to swim while juveniles use propulsion

-the ICUN has not evaluated them

-they have very good balancing organs like the ones in our ears

-they can not change colour like other cephalopods bc their cromataphores are underdeveloped

THATS PRETTY MUCH ALL I KNOW SO FAR ABOUT THEM!! When I research, I like to try to exhaust every single reliable site with information about them and write it down so I dont think I missed anything too important when I first was researching them :)

um. okay. hi. uh. i just shifted. just came back really. fuck dude. jesus christ.

okay um. so i shifted to my "wr" which is basically a ranch and i can do magic real easily and stuff and. it was so interesting coming to there. i was like. sitting up and everything was hazy at first and then i blinked the like. sleep out of my eyes and it was all so real.

there was sun coming through the curtains just how i imagined and the carpet felt right beneath my feet and it smelled like such fresh air, nice and cool. i ran my hands along the wall to really like. ensure i was there and i like. laughed incredulously and was like holy shit. bc i made it. oh my god dude i made it.

i ran outside to see if i was where i was fr and i was. i could see the ocean and the forest and the line of trees that blocks the train tracks. i could hear bugs and birds chirping and i was so. the warmth of the sun on my skin was crazy. i stayed out there for a while. i was in a white like. dress thing? like an undergarment from the 1800s. i was breathing easier i didnt have any allergies. i ran all the way to the beach to dip my toes in the water and fill my hands with sand.

when i got back i was like. so excited. i wasnt even hungry but i made myself be in order to eat in the kitchen. i made my favorite dish (im autism and have it all the time) and was just. beside myself as i watched it rotate in the microwave. i looked at all the cds i have and i turned on the tv. ive been watching criminal minds in old reality lately so i pulled up season 3 bc i hate that gideon left and i pulled up s3 in the one where gideon Didnt leave. and started watching that while i ate and looked around.

ive got a ton of plants next to my couch and i touched them all. the piano plays just like the one in my old reality, and i finally fucking found the sheet music i had forever ago and could never find. and i played it pretty easily and god man. it felt so fucking surreal. all my favorite books were on the shelves and i knew if i took one and pressed my hand against it and said "know" id know it all as if i just read it but i didnt really want to.

i looked in the bathroom and that was fucking cool as shit. the bathtub was so big and the windows were huge (no one comes here unless i want them to so its fine). i found a box of my jewelry including a ring i had to get resized in my old dr but it fit perfectly. the water was perfect and cool under my hands GUYS it was literally so cool.

and my cas room. its just how i imagined. so its like a old ass room from like the 1700s wood floor seems kinda dusty. but theres a mirror and i can enter sort of create a sim mode and change everything abt my self. first thing i did was get rid of my chest and MAN. FUCK. THE EUPHORIA. i started crying. had to take a whole couple minutes to come down from that. and then i started messing with my hair length and type and color and freckles and eye color and height and all this stuff and it was really cool. my ass is so fat now btw SLAY. and i just. looked at myself. and felt truly at home. like even though i look different now i feel more Me bc i Chose it. and anyway.

walked outside again bc i put on diff clothes in the CAS room and wanted to see my horse. its in a little pocket dimension sort of bc i dont want to constantly need to take care of them or have them around but when i want them around they are and i got to see herrrrrrr. shes also a beauty and i love her so much. and my cat pib was there and its just. guys its so fucking freeing. to know that everything i want is there.

went back inside and upstairs to the bedroom and man. i havent done much irt redecorating yet bc i wanted to do that myself but. i have a desk and a computer up there and immediately started up the sims 3 (my favorite game) and started playing and NO LAG. IS SO FUCKING EPIC GUYS. and then i remembered my library and i ran over to that and dude it was so PRETTY. and i grabbed some music theory books and some language (letters and grammar) books and did the "know" thing and lets just say i know mandarin and japanese and french and gaelige and hebrew now. and im gonna do more when i get back but BRO its just so cool.

and i got a glass of fresh iced tea and went outside and watched the sun set on my porch and pib came up and my old dog bella (whos both old and not old now) and i started crying a little bit and then i went to sleep. and decided to come back here to update yall bc ik i can go back easy af now (bc i came back to a reality where i Can) so. anyway very fucking excited. so fucking happy. one billion out of ten.

pls give us the autistic headanons I have a chronic illness called projecting and if my faves aren't like me I die

Okay so! I actually do have like. extremely specific ideas about the way I think these characters experience autism, but something that permeates through all of them is my thinking that, because of the time period, they'd likely go most of/their entire lives undiagnosed (and maybe not even self-diagnosed). Otherwise I think I will have to split them up into paragraphs, which i will be putting under a readmore because this got very long !

Jenny- I'm starting with Jenny actually because I feel like no appreciates autistic Jenny hcs. I think she experiences echolalia (specifically as in, repeating the last few words of a sentence that has been spoken to you before responding, as a way to process what was said) and that she has a LOT of trouble with volume control. I also think she has a difficult time just, phrasing sentences? Similarly to how autistic people sometimes speak very formally because of the way their brains process speech and vocabulary, except her vocabulary isn't formal, it's just very particular.

She was also (canonically!) a bit of a 'weirdgirl' rowdy-type kid (digs in mud plays with worms) when she was little, and I think for that she was pretty ostracized by her peers, who considered her annoying. And I think as a teenager she learned to like, massively overcorrect for it, and became a huge wallflower who kept her head down and never opened up to people and had very little friends, and absolutely no close friends (i also imagine like, late 60s early 70s internalized homophobia compounding this. just in a lot of ways she felt like the way she was was unacceptable and that she needed to try and suppress herself as much as possible.) And eventually she grew out of it, but i think she still has a problem with looking too far into/being too vigilant about social cues, which is something she does as a self-defensive mechanism, so she can back off when she thinks people are getting annoyed with her.

I've talked about it before on my blog but I really love the idea of Jenny like. connecting with other queer people in her early adulthood. and those relationships giving her like a comfortable, reliable social network and a sense of self-assurance. So as a 26 year old woman I think she's finally settled into a happy middle-ground between being able to mask as a means of self-preservation, but also being confident in herself and not feeling the need to mask in every social situation all of the time.

Jack- Most of my Jack Walten autism headcanons come from my friend Samsa @pespillo, i love the idea that he has shaky, fidgety hands, and that instead of being adverse to eye contact, he's too direct with it and maintains it for too long, and ends up accidentally making people uncomfortable. In terms of my personal headcanons, i think he gets overwhelmed by loud/intrusive noises and bright colors relatively easily, but that instead of making him uncomfortable or nervous, it makes him extremely frustrated, which is where he gets the reputation of having a bad temper.

Which is where i also get the idea that him and Jenny wouldn't get along because of their conflicting neurotypes, Jenny's just too loud and sporadic and excitable, it would really get on his nerves. I remember Martin also mentioning in the discord server that Jack "wouldn't get Jenny's jokes" which stands out to me because Martin generally considers Jack to be like a funny guy who jokes around a lot, and the idea of there just being like a complete mutual (autism-related) misunderstanding between him and Jenny where they just do not get eachother is hilarious to me.

Susan- I really like the idea of Susan having both autism and ADHD, but I don't have any personal experience having ADHD, so I have far fewer extremely specific 'im-projecting-this-onto-her' kinda headcanons for that. I feel like of anyone Susan's the most likely to have gotten a diagnosis, or at least to have figured out on her own that she has some kind of neurological condition, but I don't think she would be able to identify the differences between her symptoms of ADHD and her symptoms of autism (and in some ways neither can I. there's a few things i imagine for her that could be caused by either) especially considering there's already so much overlap between the two.

For specific things, I think engineering is like a lifelong special interest of hers, and she could talk about it for a very long time if given the opportunity. I think the BSI tech support audio logs function for her both as a log of the work she's doing with BSI and as an excuse to infodump about the engineering work she's passionate about. I also think she stims a lot by playing with her hair, and that's really the only reason she keeps it long. Otherwise it's actually pretty troublesome for her since she has to tie it up to keep it from getting caught in the machinery.

Martin's mentioned in the discord server that's she's very blunt, in like an honest-to-a-fault kinda way. She has a tendency to blurt things out to people that end up coming across as really rude, though Martin insists that shes not mean, which is important to me. She also seems pretty deadpan whenever she's not talking about her lifelong passion of engineering, and i like imagining that all of that is autism-related.

Sophie- Ok autistic Sophie is like a classic at this point. Like this is a very widely shared headcanon which I'm appreciative of honestly its nice :) I like the idea that she's generally pretty deadpan and soft-spoken, and I imagine her being pretty low-empathy because I'm. projecting that onto her. I feel like she both masks all of the time and doesn't really mask at all, because she's only ever noticed certain tendencies that seem to make people uncomfortable and tried to mask them, but she doesn't really think to do things like inject emotion into her voice because she doesn't really notice that she's deadpan otherwise. Its like, she doesn't really know what masking is and how to either start or stop doing it. She probably knows that there's something that makes her 'weird," but i doubt she attributes it to autism. I can imagine her rationalizing it as either something her pills are doing, or as a symptom of whatever it specifically is that she's being medicated for.

Random specific things, I think horror is a big special interest for her, I think she bounces her leg a lot and, in private, flaps her hands and rocks back & forth. I think whenever her and Jenny started sleeping in the same bed together, sleeping became a lot easier for her, and she may or may not have connected that part of the reason for that the sensation of being held by Jenny, like the pressure of it and the warmth of her body heat, is really comforting to her.

I also feel like her temperament irt autism is a lot like Jack's, and in that she does actually end up clashing with Jenny a bit. I particularly imagine Jenny getting panicked or nervous when she's seeking out social cues from Sophie to know she's not annoying her, and isn't getting any because Sophie just. doesnt do that. Like, Jenny just isnt used to spending time with other autistic people and there's a huge learning curve for it that she couldn't have expected. Also Sophie just getting overwhelmed with Jenny for being too loud or too physically affectionate. But they're working it out because they love eachother :)

Fatgum As a Dad

This was inspired by a conversation I had on a discord server, we all have daddy issues and want Fatgum to adopt us so here’s all the shit we collected.

There are some serious themes in here, mostly regarding the biological parents of the kid, but it’s vague as possible. If anyone wants me to add a trigger warning please let me know.

It all started when he was a kid, when he learned what an orphanage was. One of the kids in his class mentioned being from one, so when he got home he asked his parents about it. 

“Mom, what’s an orphanage?”

“Well, Taishiro, it’s where children that don’t have parents go. Then people can come and adopt the children. Why do you ask.”

“A kid at school said he’s from one, when d’you think he’s gonna get adopted?”

“He might, not all children get adopted. Some of them stay in the orphanage until they’re adults.”

“BUT THAT’S NOT FAIR!” he shouted. “EVERYONE DESERVES A HAPPY CHILDHOOD!”

“Well, honey, life’s not fair. And not everyone gets a happy life. It’s how most villains are made, actually. They were hurt more than everyone else and couldn’t handle it anymore. Not all villains are like that but many are. I think you should stay away from that kid, Taishiro. He might turn out a villain.”

But he didn’t stay away. And he made it his mission to become a pro hero so he could make a ton of money and help as many people as he could. He’d help even villains, keep them from doing something dangerous and inspire hope in them.

Then, he’d adopt any kid who needed a father. All the orphanages and foster programs would be empty. Homeless children off the street and in his house, being fed and clothed. He’d care for each and every one of them, not wanting a single person to feel like they didn’t belong. 

He finds most of his kids at pride parades. He walks around with a shirt that says ‘FREE DAD HUGS’ and a box full of candy. He remembered one of the kids walking up to him slowly.

“Um.. are you Fatgum?” 

“Yes I am!”

“Can I have a hug?”

“Yes you can, Kiddo!” he got down, and the kid put his arms on his stomach (Fatgum’s too big for anyone to fully hug, the dude’s taller than Allmight!) he wrapped his arms around the kid before he heard sniffles. He looked down and saw that the kid was crying.

“M-my parents never hug me like this!” they exclaimed. “They haven’t since I came out. They want to kick me out when I turn thirteen!” 

“Can I have their number? I’m going to... talk to them.”

He ended up taking the kid’s family to court, and since the parents were going to just kick the kid out anyways, they let Fatgum adopt them, but they kept nagging him about how he was ‘going to be raising a little demon.’

“Then call me Lucifer.” he spat right back. Now, that kid’s grown up, has pride flags all around their walls, and doesn’t ever doubt that they’re loved.

Fatgum probably bakes with his kids. Helping them up onto the counter to mix ingredients and play with the dough. If they mess something up or break a glass, it’s fine. He doesn’t yell at them or sigh and shake his head, he just kissed the kid on the forehead and helps them clean up the mess. 

The food always turns out amazing, and Fatgum always tells the kids that. All of his kids are now Gordon Ramsay level chefs and have probably met Gordon Ramsay. 

No matter what their body type is, Fatgum tells his kids their handsome/beautiful and are model worthy. If anyone comments of one of his kid’s body, whether it be negative or... ‘positive’ in a creepy way, you can expect that they’re getting slammed into the ground. No questions asked.

One of Fatgum’s kids is really good at make-up. Like, really good. So Fatgum did the only thing a rational father would do. 

Ask for a make-up job.

It didn’t end all that well...

“Hold still.. I gotta get the eyeliner on.”

“Gosh, Kiddo it’s making my eyes water.” 

“I know, just hold still... aaaand...... done! Now don’t touch it or it’ll smear!”

“Wow, that looks great! You’re really good at this!”

“Thanks, dad- you smeared it already didn’t you?”

“....Nope.”

Fatgum: I'm not gonna do it, it just seemed like a good option. 

Fatgum not even two seconds later after seeing a trans kid crying: now carrying said child on his shoulders while his spouse is chuckling in a corner after signing adoption papers I did it.

This man would get his kids almost anything they wanted. Especially kids with ADD/ADHD/Autism/Tourettes/Anxiety who need stim toys.

Kid: chewing on their nails.

Fatgum: here take this stim toy, and this one, you chew this one so that might help-

Kid ends up with more stim toys than they can count.

Fatgum: just doing his job 

The Daddy Issues Gang: Hi dad- oh shit wait- Hi- I- fuck- trauma ensues. crying

Fatgum: grabs the daddy issues gang we're going to the nearest courtroom say hello to your new father its me im the father ok lets go.

Kid: um, dad can I talk to you? 

 Fatgum, turning around quickly: yes? 

 Me: ‘he moved so quick, he's mad at me, I'm gonna get yelled at’ Sorry, sorry! 

Fatgum: uh, no. I'm getting you ice cream and a new stuffed animal no questions asked

He'd just know when something's wrong, and he’d be great at comforting.

His usual style of comfort is to let the kid sit on his stomach and tell him what’s wrong. His body is one giant pillow for his kids to lay on, he can fit at least eight of them if they cuddle in closely.

Once filmed a commercial dressed as the Cool-Aid man, and all of his kids were in the commercial.

Fatgum: Busts down wall  “OH YEAH!”

Director: “And CUT! Okay, try a little more aggressive-”

Fatgum, in tears: “I don’t wanna scare my kids.”

As stated before, if anyone makes his kids feel bad he’s punching them to the ground, but sometimes he’s not in a position where he can do that. Like if a Karen mom ever comes over.

"Linda stop bringing lemon squares if you're going to talk about my son that way because they're just as sour as your attitude."

Fatgum but he slaps the toxic members of your family and tells them to do better or he's taking you.

Then takes you anyway because you prefer him.

Fatgum definitely watches ATLA, and quotes Uncle Iroh daily. When his kids are minding their own business they suddenly hear

“Leaves from the vine... falling so slow...”

Fatgum used to work with a hero who was hard of hearing, so he learned sign language to help them, and he’s got the skill saved in case one of his kids might be deaf.

So one day, Kirishima invites Bakugou on patrol with him, and we all love that headcanon of Bakugou going deaf, so when he gets pissed at something, he starts insulting everyone around him in SL.

Fatgum notices and starts signing back to him.

In the middle of a battle, he throws Kirishima at a villain and they both scream “YEET!” the villain afterwords forever lives in fear of the word ‘yeet’ because he thinks it’ll result in a human rock being thrown at his face.

I've got a metric shit-ton of mental illness, so my mental state is Wack™, tho I'll point out my ADHD and Autism since those are my most prominent. Paradoxical is the best word to describe me cuz I can range from feral gremlin memelord to so-quiet-you-forget-Im-there (I accidentally scare people alot cuz of this). Relatively apathetic emotionally, and I can sometimes struggle with social cues, I'm also very childish, hyperactive and immature, and can be blunt and straight forward with my words. I have a trash sense of humor (I'll basically laugh at anything), tho I do enjoy dark, self-deprecating, and/or inappropriate jokes the most. Since most people see me as "ignorant baby", I like fucking with them by just saying the weirdest shit or casually cursing because I can. I'm academically smart to a degree, with a leaning towards the sciences, maths, and engineering. Mostly a big psychology and astronomy nerd and really big into art. I've gotta bunch of sketchbooks and folders full of drawings, (mostly character designs), from over the years and too many damn color pencils (that I will continue to add on too, because fuck yeah colors). I'm really into transformers, comics, anime, video games, and true crime. I like to lift weights and have questionable eating habits (forgetting to eat is a problem of mine so I always have snacks on me, and I tend to eat things I really shouldnt; Ex. Chalk) and basically eat like a famine survivor when it comes to food. I practically inhale my food and I tend to get aggressive if someone tries to interact with me while I'm eating or cooking. All and all tho, I'm mostly here to vibe and just live in the moment.

I have a lot of cat-like habits and tend to headbutt, rub up against, and bite and/or lick people who I like; walk on my toes alot; and prefer small spaces over wide open ones. I'm also really flexible, so it's not odd to causally find me weird ass positions. Gets the nyoomies randomly and struggles with volume control (not helped by me being slightly hard at hearing), so I'll usually pace around while talking and making random noises (echolocalia basically, and I'll mostly beep, meow, trill, make Kirby noises "poyo!", etc.,), and also hand flappy! I also like to sing to myself and have a really great range (mostly on the higher end of the spectrum), as well as decent voice acting capabilities! I mirror things alot, so if I interact with someone long enough, I'll subconsciously start mimicking them and their habits (mostly verbal quirks and accents, but physical quirks too sometimes). Very much prefer hot and humid weather and get real tried/hibernate when it gets colder. For that reason, I've got a huge nest of soft blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals.

ive been having anxiety attacks about this recently, and i guess its good to vent here.  i have so much trouble being honest with my therapist, i have distrust of the healthcare system after the way it’s treated me as a mental health patient, and by knowing how it works because i am a healthcare worker

i was talking with a friend today about my self esteem issues, how im completely average in appearance but im annoying and tend to push people away, and it ended up going into how my biggest fear, and a recurring theme in my life, is abandonment

My father left us for a woman in her 20s when he was in his 40s.  its given me a huge distrust of men and i firmly believe any man would leave their older wife for someone younger, statistics and men ive known have shown and stated that.  it’s one of the reasons im happy to be bi i guess, i feel like women care less about aging with their partner

men always say women are gross and creepy when theyre old, they hate older women.  it’s why i always joke about being a hag in a swamp with snakes and cats and crows and bugs, so i can isolate myself.  it may seem like a joke, but that’s one scenario i await. Men, young and old, shit on older women as gross and unattractive, despite the fact that they’ll age themselves.  any male partner i get i prepare for them to leave me for someone younger or because im too old.  im annoying, im autistic, im mentally ill.  My brother, and plenty of other guys, talk about how every girl nowadays is mentally ill.  other people joke about  how “everyone has anxiety” But when me, someone who is diagnosed with an actual disorder, has anxiety attacks, I’m seen as crazy and people don’t like that.  I absolutely cannot control my anxiety, medication has done jack shit for me and I try my best with therapy, hobbies, and walking, but it’s something I’m always going to have.  My attacks today have lead to hyperventilation, crying, and even vomiting

An ex boyfriend of mine, among me not taking his religious zealot shit and putting my foot down, left me for another girl.  My dad left us for a woman half his age, who only wanted him for his money.  He treated her daughters like his own, but always complained about how my brother and I were financial burdens because the judge ordered him to pay child support.  I’ve had friends who lost interest in me and stopped talking to me.  I plan on everyone leaving, save for maybe Arthur and Matt (who, fortunately, dont shit on women for aging, and thank you two, for being golden boys)

Both my mom and therapist have told me I have a nearly-impenetrable wall up, and they’ve both said I have it up because im afraid of people hurting me, so I push people away and don’t let them in.  It takes people months, or even years to completely break through it.  I laughed at them at first but i realize now that is an actual thing.

I have so much trouble trusting people, even when they say they’re being honest and transparent.  People get upset with me when I talk about isolating myself, and how my future goals, such as my career and living on my own, only ever speak about myself, because I’m preparing for if I ever am actually truly alone.

One of the reasons I love animals so much is because, no matter what my hobbies are, what I look like, how annoying I may be, they only care about how I treat them.  I love animals for that.  Dogs are easily accepting, and cats I respect because it takes work to earn their trust.  I am wary of people who don’t like cats for that reason because I myself need time based on past experiences, and also autism making interactions difficult.  People so easily shit on those of us who are autistic because we function differently, we need time, we need space, I take time to open up to people fully.  Sure, if I have something in common with you I’ll shoot the shit, but that doesn’t mean I’ve fully opened up.  I have trouble looking people I’ve known for a long time in the eye for fuck’s sake

Chapter summary: Henry finds out a new gang is in the school, corners the gang's little brother, and gets information. Henry confronts the new gang and ends up with a wounded man and a busted ego.

A new family had moved into town, there was another big old house that wasn't as creepy as the Neibolt house that was on the outskirts of town. This house was very large one, maybe an old white man's house way back when. No one knows but someone had renovated it and moved in. No one even knew this family existed until all of the kids were suddenly enrolled in school.

There was a large handful of kids in each division. A large group of elementary kids, about seven. Middle schoolers, about three. Then a group of high schoolers, four. Which leaves us to the current day of the high schoolers walking the middle schoolers to school classes, then moving on to their own.

No one really batted an eyelash at these kids, until the highschoolers ended up being a very tight-knit group.

Of course, the Bowers Gang had taken notice of this. A new gang of just the same amount of people suddenly had entered their territory and they weren't going to allow it to slide. Henry wanted information, Patrick wanted blood. The rest just wanted to leave the group alone since they were not doing any harm. Literally.

The group was a nice bunch of kids, protectors if anything, social with anyone and started a following quickly. Maybe that's why Henry wanted their head on a platter because the kids of the school started paying more attention to them, thinking that just a group of kids their own age was going to protect the little people.

Once a couple days passed and Henry had calculated every step and sneeze of this group, he found there was a middle schooler he could easily corner. He split from the rest of the group when he got to school, giving the leader of the Bowers gang a good head start to getting his well-awaited information.

The kid's name was Henry as well, probably why the mullet wearing boy didn't beat the shit out of him when he cornered the kid while skipping. His sick smile was the only thing that the boy under his shadow could look at until he spoke.

“So mini-me, you know those kids that walk you to school?” Henry spoke, intimidating, deep, his voice was like an old truck engines purr, the kind of sound you turned away from because of how horrid the sound was.

“You mean my, uh, my siblings?” Little Henry stuttered out, scared, confused, intrigued. He was a smart kid, for his age he could easily skip a few grades.

“Siblings huh? None of you all look related, you all part of some redneck crossbreeding in the backwoods?”

“Uh, no, you must be confusing us with your lot.” The kid sneered, and Henry sneered back.

“Shut your fuckin’ mouth and answer the damn question.”

“No, most of us are fosters or adoptions.” He answered confidently, straightening up and brushing his vest off.

Henry ignored the confidence the kid had and asked another question,

“Tell me about the leader.”

“Of the four? There are two but the one who runs the show most of the time is Sixteen.” He answered, looking up at the bell rang. They were off in a corner of the school that was rarely used and the only reason the Henrys had even crossed paths was the little one was looking for his locker.

“Tell me more about them.”

“Sixteen is a very anxious and secluded person, confused with themselves and the world. Usually finds themselves in the midst of hating themselves or the world itself. Tries their best to be as nice to others as they would want others to be nice to them, they are very generous and kind. They won't hesitate to spit in your face though and knows how to handle a knife very well.”

The kid puffed his chest up, anyone could tell this kid looked up to these four.

“They have a very good sense of dark humor as well, respectful, and very protective of people they care about.”

“Uhuh, okay, sounds like a little wimp. Which one are they?” Henry asked, not following this as some of the information seemed a little too personal.

“The one with the super curly hair? You know wears an orange fleece?”

“Oh yeah, Now whos the big man?”

“That's Daniel! He has a lot of issues ranging from autism to schizophrenia, no one really knows a lot of what he has just that he has a lot of mental shit he cant handle most of the time. He has medication and only takes the ones he wants to and he does bodybuilding as a hobby but not overbearingly as much as he should, he knows his limits.”

Henry's brows furrowed, as most stereotypes and his racial beliefs caused his mind to fill with disgust and marked Daniel with a label of danger.

“He's a sweet guy though, caring, buys things for you if you need them, fights the fights he never needs to, always has your back and honestly a very respectable man.”

Didn't change his feeling on Daniel.

Henry sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose when the second bell rang to signal the start of class.

"How do you explain little miss plaid?" Henry asked, the kid nervously fiddling with his fingers as he answered.

"Jessica. Sweet girl, nice to everyone, she's like the knight of the group. She may be charming and she may be strong and independent but I must warn you to never trust her. She likes only 3 people and the rest of the world is dead to her. If anything she's Patrick but much more dangerous, and that's scary because she knows she's crazy and she knows she can kill but she can control it very well, to the point that it doesn't even seem like its there. Try to stay on her good side okay?"

“How do you know about Patrick’s problems?”

“Have you even looked at that boy?! He walks like a psychopath well alone looks like one!”

Henry nodded, the kid had a point.

“Last one chop, chop.”

“Second in command, Tina, Sixteens best friend, and overall sister. They connect together like glue. She's a huge nerd and a very sweet person overall. Has a very cat mentality and that's why when you see the two together tina is 7 times out of 10 annoying Sixteen for no reason. Tina is very logical and quiet, she rarely talks to anyone outside of Sixteen and nana.”

The little Henry breathed then looked down the hall to see a teacher glaring at their direction, mostly big Henry’s.

“Shit,” Bowers muttered under his breath, looking over at the kid and the kid back at him.

“Uh, Sorry sir! I was asking him a question about some of my history homework, I guess we got a bit mixed up in our conversation and missed the bell!” He stuttered out, stumbling toward the teacher. Bowers watched after him carefully in confusion, most kids would have left him with the big D.

Moving along, Henry was let off detention and the little Henry went back to class.

So far the group he had been hunting after was a bunch of softies, just asking for trouble to come to them. At lunch that day he decided to make a move, sitting in front of the leader of the group.

Sixteen looked up with a questioning look. Tired eyes and a hair full of bed head. This kid was not in a good state by the look of it. Patrick followed after, about to sit down but Jessica was a little bit faster when getting to the table, lightly pressing an open switchblade to his side. She hid it from the teachers and led both of them to sit down slowly in unison.

Henry noticed this then glared at Sixteen, who munched on the garlic bread given to them by the lunch lady.

“You need something mister man?” They asked, looking over to Jessica then to Patrick.

“Yeah, tell your goon to back off of Patrick.”

“Nah, I know you and I'm not gonna let you get under my skin or mess up my shit. Jessica told me what she saw today in the hallways earlier.” Sixteen set down their food then neatly folded their fingers together to set under their chin, “Henry was seen with you, and you didn't seem to friendly with him, yet he saved your ass nonetheless I would expect nothing less of him he's a wonderful kid.”

They took a deep breath, then lowered their voice.

“If I EVER see you near one of my kids AGAIN I will not hesitate to give you a mark on your life, and god forbid you to touch one of my kids again I will make sure you are gutted and roasted like a god damn pig in my backyard and leave you for the coyotes.”

Henry almost laughed, almost, this kid wasn't joking around.

“Can't promise you anything sweet tits,”

“You will promise me right here, right now, or ill have Jessica gut your boy right here, right now. Would you want that to come off your best man Henry?”

Patrick let in a sharp breath and mumbled something to Jessica. Her face hardened and you could see the tension build in her arm as it pressed deeper into his flesh. He seemed to be shaking, of pleasure or pain? Who knew.

Henry’s face grew red, as he looked between Patrick then Sixteen.

“Awe, is mistew bowers about to see his wittle dog get gutted in fwont of him?” Sixteen taunted, only to earn them the satisfaction of seeing the moment Henry saw nothing but red but tried in every fiber of his fucking body to remain in his seat than to launch himself across the table and strangle this bitch to death.

Sixteen smiled, it was actually sweet, then waved Jessica off. Jessica backed off but didn't leave eye contact with Patrick. When he felt the blade leave his body he stood up and quickly left to tend to his wound.

“Okay, lets talk, I got my point across to you. I don't really want anything from you than to back off being the bully. Or the hunter will become the hunted, that's my only warning.”

Henry just stared at them, eyes unfocused closing them to hide the wild and rushing rage that was surging through his veins. His hands balled into fists, shaking, and turning white.

“Deep breath bowers, in through the nose, out through the mouth. I suggest taking the steam off in a fuck or a boxing match. Ever thought of boxing before? I hear its great for anger.”

Henry flashed a glare, then saw Sixteen was being genuine in suggesting help in his obvious control problem. He stood, then left. Vic and Belch looking confused as they entered the cafeteria just to leave and run after Henry with questions.

The insurance adjuster assessed my car and approve the repairs.I later found out that they are going to repair my car with piece meal parts from used car from a junk yard. Hi, my friend bought a car of some random guy on 3-19-09 and she has not registered it under her name yet, as the tags are not expired until late Dec 2009. Now i was doing repairs on the car, took it for a test drive, and got cited over by a peace officer for being on the cell phone. Now, since my friend hasn't registered it or no gotten insurance. Last company auto renewed my policy but i wasnt aware of this as had moved address, so to cancel it I had to pay 133 as id already started going with someone else on top of the initial deposit amount i had to pay for both companies which has took a large chunk of my money for what i feel was no fault of mine, then a month later im getting letters from my current insurance asking me to pay an extra 90 plus 25 admin fee or my policy will be cancelled AGAIN meaning a cancellation fee because when i said i had held my licence for 8 years they recon its 7 ive held it for and this makes my policy go up, thing is i got my licence on 22/08/2003 and took my poliocy out on the 19/08/2011 so they're making out when i took out the policy i only had licence for 7 years for sake of 2 days who the hell wouldnt have said 8 to that? it just seems theyre trying everything now days trawling through all your stuff finding the smallest detail just so they can get money off you or cancellation fees cos that way they're not risking anything on insurance but still gettin money off you for cancellation fees its a joke and I can really see why people think there's no point having insurance anymore. Plus I have never made a claim since I started driving but because others have in the country im being punished with premiums going up. Will it just end up where everyone who simply cant afford it thinks sod it and drives round with no insurance? surely that would make things even worse but all these cancellation fees if it happens again that I have to cancel that will be 550 ive paid in the last 2 months and still my car wont have insurance????? arghhhhh its doing my head in surely something can be done to help the customers a little more as insurance was always a headache but this is becoming ridiculous now. ..""
