• When you were younger you wished for attention, especially as your family crumpled around you.

• However the love and even hate you got from your work never truly satisfied that.

• Rocky did, though. He was sweet, a little insane, sure, but overall he was amazing.

• So, you crafted the ultimate plan.

• You made sure Rocky got a good amount of sleep the night before, offering up your bed for the night.

ok so sonic prime season 2. time for me to be a sonic nerd, so spoilers ahead.

one thing tho! i have been watching to show in japanese dub because i wanted to hear the same VAs from the past, but i dont know japanese and if anyone does and is watching it in japanese, id love to know if there have been any noteworthy differences in the script. It seems pretty close to the english script though from the very little I knowledge (i imagine it is quite close due to the translation being english *to* japanese)

anyways. im gonna mostly cover the characterization, and bring up plot when its relevant. but first thing to establish- prime's characterization isnt inherently bad imo, and its okay to make changes for different kinds of media. i still have opinions of course, but i dont think those opinions affect the fact that i do think these changes work for what prime is generally.

some of this bounces off thoughts i and i know others voices in season 1.

sonic is very energetic, maybe a bit too much, but shows nowadays do tend to be very fast and snappy. and of course, VA do more work with implying the characterization, which is where my difference lies in impression. Jun'ichi Kanemaru has always been The Sonic for me, as much as i do have nostalgia over some english ones (my fave english sonic and shadow has always been Jason Griffith). And his work in prime sounds much like any sonic role before of ourse-- though the actual script is kinda where my opinion changes but that more has to do with the Hip language and present day quips found in many american english kid shows. its expected.

I love Jun'ichi still having his typical sonic quirks in prime because it does make me feel like sonic still Works the same. his energy may be a bit different but it does remind me of how things like Sonic X treated him for being paced for a tv show. Also i REALLY love that the japanese script had sonic speak english. if you listened to him in japanese in the past, you'd know that Jun'ichi gets to say english often- those are often his quips, to "americanize" him as sonic's intent was always to vibe like that. The main thing missing from sonic is that lazy/laid back energy he has, really. and i know others agree. but i get for a fast paced show that wouldnt work well. but sonic can be a bit careless and selfish even, and that doesnt seem to happen much or at all.

shadow is one i have more thoughts on, and its no surprise many others do because shadow is a very specific kind of character that isnt easy to get right. Even as i listen to Koji Yusa, the guy who's played shadow since the start, the way i see shadow act and the script makes him feel way more off than sonic despite that. Within the first episode of s2 (and maybe the first of s1? where they were raving n stuff?) shadow is aggressive, and i think thats a good descriptor for him in this show.... my main issue with him being aggressive is just the episode opening with shadow just beating the shit out of sonic lol. i get that he is mad but we see him just.. quietly fighting sonic and beating him into the ground?? and i just don't get that choice. What would i want then? for shadow to be more vocal at least, while beating him up lol. i would want him to angrily voice why hes mad. they get the "quiet" idea of shadow but took it the wrong way. and the reason why it feels even more out of place is that its sonic hes beating up with no voiced reason. that is not someone he casually fights so hard. so if he were too decide this, thats why id wanna hear shadow talking shit too, i would like to know why he's mad enough to do this to someone he doesnt do this to. it kinda means a lot for him to act that way towards sonic- he doesnt do this in the games at all, i think many would agree shadow isnt aggressive at all, not in the way of being outwardly violent. other wise i dont have any issues with his general dialog, or what choices he has made or his goals. they actually feel pretty in character. its just the way they have displayed shadow's aggression toward sonic that i just dont care for.

Much as I thought this abt the last season, I don't think I can say much about all the other characters from different dimensions... they're all their own thing, ya know? And they're fine. But I was always wishing that the main Eggman from Yoke was designed a bit more like our main Eggman. I don't hate his design. On the eggmans in general, theyre fine. theyre all supposed to be funny stereotypes but they just arent interesting as characters to the story, except for the main one i guess. also hate that fucking baby. i would maybe bear him if he was like, a 5 year old. you have the brooding/annoying teen and you could have the dumb whiny toddler. idk. but i hate that baby.

Next important think though- metal sonic. I think the new design isn't bad, it's a unique take and its neat. But there is something much more aggressive about the typical design that i wish they stuck to. :/ it's sharp. A little *too* close to sonic. You know? But his personality. Oh man. I get it's fitting the "modern" almost cute electronic emoticon face being flashy, and again the fast pacing. I thought I'd enjoy Jun's acting at least but the writing is just Not my thing and ruins it for me. I would have enjoyed something more akin to the metal Amy from that world? Deeper voice? More robotic? Maybe they could have leaned into that loose, almost reckless and impulsive side of sonic. i get they wanted to exaggerate his show personality but making him annoying as hell just made the interactions so overwhelming. Also this "metal sonic" is being called Chaos Sonic. Interestingly the English subs are calling him Super Sonic? Might just be an error.

anyways next onto some story details... in general i do like the plot. its good! has some nice drive for it to keep going. shadow finally coming in to explain more helped and now nine coming in to take control of the plot after shadow is a good lead for a new season. i hope shadow gets more screentime if they get a new season. maybe taking ONE key guy from the other dimensions and then shadow as the s3 "main cast" would be good. and then i would like to not see the dimensions much at all again, or you know. new ones?

but like. i gotta say it, i am a bit tired of some of some dimensions.. ESPECIALLY the fucking pirate one. get me OUT of that blue ass place please!!! they spent way too much time there and i do wonder if it was to have less of a load on rendering. good christ. i never want to see that place again.

i think the issue too with shadow not showing up was they really set up how he needs to help sonic. they were a team. and shadow should have really bugged sonic more about him fucking up. Nine got to communicate with sonic (and barely did for most of it) and i think shadow should have had that ability more. shadow REALLY should have seen sonic fucking up, it would give even more reason to be weary about him by the end, where they let nine do his thing. we couldve gotten an explosive angry shadow reacting like "what the fuck is wrong with you i knew you couldnt do this" or something.

the plot is just fine but the characterization and how the characters affect the plot can kind of be where things go wrong i think. considering season 2 is actually season 1, id hope maybe theyll improve on an actual next season.

Oh yeah our styles clash so much, I think yancy would decorate our house with the typical like. American decor, and my latin self would have so Many trinkets, probably things from my country.

Also my decor is all over the place, I try to make it look nice but theres gonna be nerdy stuff, bottles I think are cool,movie posters, yance would probably have posters of his jaeger and other propaganda like that.

What would i do with mako? At first I think I'd go to somewhere nice to eat breakfast, cozy and calm, probably really well decorated. Then I think we would spend the day shopping for things that mako would like, books, posters, Nerdy merch, music,etc.

Then at lunch we'd go somewhere like a fast food place,or somewhere we've been wanting to go for a while, and spend the afternoon watching a movie or go to see a play.

Im my opinion (as someone diagnose with ASPD) “wannabe psychopath.” Are those cock sucker attention seekers that are fully into this thriller show’s such as YOU, Dexter, Hannibal Lecter, American Psycho (despite I love this shows/movies except Hannibal Lecter) these people get way to deep into this characters till the point they convince them self that they are in fact “psychopaths.”

Throughout my life I have seen so many people (specially in social media) on how they go on that they “lack emotions” and they don’t care that their gf/bf broke up with them. Or saying things like omg I am a psycho I am so cold with my friends, I don’t feel bad for treating you bad and so many things like that.

Me as an ASPD a “wanna be psychopath” is just an attention seeker that didn’t grew up with his mom or dad and simply wants to feel different to get attention from other people.

Let's start off with the Sociopaths of Quora. Most of them seem genuine to me. Most things the genuine guys write make sense with my emotions and life experience. The fakes seem way too try hard and every single one of their questions has to do with Sociopaths. And I mean every single question. Some of the fakes on here don't seem to have any hobbies or other interests besides sociopaths. It's like they jerk off to it or they are addicted to it or some shit like that… They also try to act like nerdy superior fucking professors who know everything with psychopathy. Yeah, you know who you are you pathetic c***s.

Now, on to the fake psychopaths. I don't believe any psychopath on Quora. Besides the guys who posted their diagnosis. I highly recommend not following any of the high-functiong psychopaths on here. They brag about the mask so much. All the HF psychopaths with heaps of followers and views are full of it. (Maybe i am paranoid, maybe I am right. I don't know. I don't live in your brain.) There is one high functioning psychopath I believe. I can't remember their name, but the profile picture is of a dog. That person explains their emotions and seems genuine to me. Also, like what I explained with the sociopaths. The same thing applys with the psychopaths.

There is one guy on here who has his credential as “diagnosed with sociopathy” yet he calims he's a high functioning sociopath? Ha! Bullshit mate! The term sociopath is not in the DSM. So how can you be diagnosed with sociopathy? And how th fuck are you high-functioning? Getting diagnosed doesn't sound high functioning to me.

Ao meu ver, é mais pessoal e particular do que assunto da lei ou das autoridades. Ou de qualquer órgão público. (Não sou do ramo, mas acredito)

Quando lidamos com coisas que não parecem normais, sons, barulhos de moto revoltosos (que só expressam a revolta particular de quem faz) bizarramente altos, músicas com batidas estranhas, bem altas e repetitivas que parecem ter sido retiradas de algum som alienígena, cuja frequência e intensidade soam estranhamente reguladas de acordo com o sentimento geral dos bairros e dos movimentos das pessoas no momento, ou seja...

Se você já sentiu que há muitos anos certas coisas não têm explicação, barulhos estranhos perto da sua casa que soam num timbre que parece não ser algo existente aqui nesse planeta ou algo nunca visto antes, é muito provável que...98,5% de chance novamente repetindo o mesmo drama pessoal de qualquer existência viva e consciente (várias no caso, mesmo que minoria talvez), certamente são entidades ou seres não humanos (mais provável o último caso, visto pelo "scouter" que mede poder de luta em Dragon Ball) que todos os dias tentam chamar a atenção dos outros sincronizando os seus movimentos, sons e falas, assim como aquele pancadão bizarro que acontece nos clubes algumas noites em todos os lugares do mundo. O caso é mundial, embora os problemas pessoais e sofrimento particular de qualquer consciência viva estejam CLARAMENTE PRESENTES, TODOS OS DIAS. Quem são eles?! Ou a pergunta mais sensata seria nos perguntar...QUEM SOMOS NÓS!? Visto que não importa a raça (alien, humano, anão, elfo, kobold), todos nós temos o direito de ter bons momentos. Sim, meus amigos...ao longo dos anos isso sempre aconteceu. Se começarmos a aceitar que não estamos lidando com gente de verdade, gente de verdade não faz isso e tal, então faço questão de mudar a palavra "gente" pra um novo sentido: Butijões de gás macabros vindos de outro planeta, melecas tipo dos filmes "A Coisa" e "A Bolha Assassina", anões macabros humanóides (que parecem anões humanos, como as pessoas que são baixas demais por natureza) e "pessoas" com a pele branca, gente aparentemente normal que sai gritando de algum local escondido depois de comer uma tigela de chilli, palhaços bizarros que derretem a própria maquiagem ao chorar e a cor da pele denuncia que não são normais (fica a coisa mais macabra do mundo, a começar pelo rosto deformado e a maquiagem borrada, o tamanho e formato sinistro dos olhos e da boca). E ainda têm a cara de pau, disfarçam muito bem! Mesmo que isso implique em manipular emoções e estado emocional, de acordo com o momento.

Ou quando não estão disfarçando, fazem questão de mostrar a sua verdadeira face. Embora como sempre, né!? É sempre quando o seu estado emocional ou vibracional não vai dar muita importância. Ou não vai perceber, ou vc vai achar que estava vendo ou ouvindo coisas por conta de uma dor de cabeça ou de um cansaço. Ou quando eles têm a absoluta certeza de que vc nunca mais vai contar o que viu a ninguém, pois "não viu" ou "não ouviu" algo bizarramente o suficiente com seus sentidos pra depois dizer: Eu vi alguma coisa...

Eu me divido entre duas opiniões...

E se é que pouco podemos fazer porque certas pessoas dizem que são pessoas mortas, fantasmas, infuenciando os seres vivos, então digo que as leis não valem mais de todo como anos atrás. Não é preciso explicar pra quem é adulta/adulto e tem mais ou menos uma consciência de que a lei continua valendo enquanto existir, embora ninguém pode negar que estamos vendo os tais "mortas" e "mortos" TODOS JUNTOS.

Qualquer uma/um que esteve junto comigo diz que percebe e escuta os mesmos barulhos de moto e gritarias vindos das ruas que não parecem normais. Parece mais um teatro montado e/ou improvisado todos os dias, tardes e noites, pra chamar a atenção de alguém ou de quem estiver por perto, sendo que ninguém tem nada a ver com isso.

Como se isso não bastasse, muita gente pergunta nas ruas ou fala por telefone pros nossos conhecidos: VC ESCUTOU AQUELE BARULHO DE MOTO ONTEM?!

"Barulho pra alguns é justificativa de alguma coisa. Prova, resposta, pergunta, indireta ou direta, sendo que nós aqui não temos nada a ver com isso."

Temos algo a ver!? Então nunca conseguiram falar isso claramente pra nenhum de nós. Acho que nada faz sentido. As pessoas tão se perdendo numa terra sem lei, quem quiser viver bem até o fim da vida ainda assim consegue se contaminar pelo ódio vindo de um grupo de "sei lá o que são" e a gente custa, mas custa a acreditar que é algo do bem ou que queira o bem-estar dos outros...

Resumo do personagem Kazan é um personagem do Cube interpretado por Andrew Miller.

Ele é um autista savant com a habilidade de encontrar rápida e precisamente o número de fatores primos em um número.

Ele não gosta de salas vermelhas. Ele gosta de salas azuis.

Ele também parece ter algum conhecimento de como as armadilhas dentro do Cube funcionam, pois ele ativa uma armadilha ativada por som, enquanto murmura "armadilha" para si mesmo.

No final, Kazan entra em uma luz branca brilhante, e é ambíguo o que acontece com ele quando o filme termina ali.

Não lembro direito da saga "Cube", porque pra mim eram apenas bons filmes ou acima da média. Alguns da saga eram regulares e a franquia nunca foi muito do meu gosto, mesmo que já tenha assistido e achei bom. Pra quem gosta da atmosfera, da temática da série deve ser bom, pensei prontamente !! Vi os dois primeiros quando era um estudante do colegial. Existe até o "Cube Zero", que conta o início da saga.

Esses meses atrás vi um filme na televisão em que a polícia ajudava um grupo de autistas sem saber que elas/eles eram autistas. Parece que era sobre alguma ameaça sobrenatural.

Não vi muito, mas fiquei impressionado com as habilidades que certas pessoas podem exercer. Muitos são autistas!

Nunca tive conhecimento sobre autismo, soube do tema em 2023. Já conhecia a palavra autismo, embora nunca soube realmente como se comportava um autista.

Tive INÚMERAS, MUITAS dificuldades até conhecer melhor sobre o tema e o significado da palavra.

Pra nós que não temos algum dom mais desenvolvido, repasso a frase do Professor André Luiz, que era espírita: "Médiuns somos todos nós."

Essa frase não sei se é dele, mas o conheci pessoalmente.

Se eu tenho um traço, vc, ela e ele também possuem. Nasce com todos os traços comuns a uma pessoa normal, digamos.

Eu desenvolvi boa parte das minhas técnicas de luta com base na energia espiritual juntada à energia física mesmo. Shaolin do Sul é mais domínio do "Chi" em si, embora a parte física também se faz muito presente.

Existe um "jutsu" (gesto) que vc aprende depois de dominar o básico dos golpes e ki, quando passa pro primeiro estágio do Kung-Fu: Força do Corpo e Força da Mente. Eu já tava no segundo estágio, porém o segundo gesto ainda não me passaram naquela altura do segundo estágio. Precisava avançar um pouco mais.

Se existem relatos raríssimos de pessoas que disparam bolas de energia pelas mãos e se levitam, andam sobre brasa e aparecem em dois lugares ao mesmo tempo, então diria que nós não conseguimos explorar nem 5% do potencial real das nossas mentes. NA REALIDADE, É QUE NASCEMOS COM ESSA LIMITAÇÃO POR LEI DA NATUREZA. É meio que como um equilíbrio. Pra desenvolver, é uma jornada individual de cada uma/um.

Eu sei fazer algumas coisas, como adivinhar que horas são exatamente: Hora e minuto. 80% das vezes falha, mas existiram casos em que acertei exatamente. Hora e minuto! Sem olhar pro relógio ou qualquer tipo de truque.

Também consigo realizar combos, muita gente que aprende artes marciais consegue. É a coisa mais fácil do mundo.

Certas coisas dependem de energia espiritual. Parece que quando acaba, seu foco diminui e vc não consegue realizar o feito mesmo tendo saúde física o suficiente. A ficção retrata isso de várias maneiras, inclusive jogos eletrônicos, de RPG ou qualquer tipo de jogo ou obra fictícia.

Eu afirmo: ISSO EXISTE!

E sempre existiu.

Olha, não sei se escrevendo um texto como esse consigo ajudar a polícia, os supostos espíritos "perdidos" e contribuo com alguma coisa pra essa investigação que estourou em 2012, quando até quem não acreditava/via/ouvia começou a deconfiar de alguma coisa.

Durante anos a humanidade sempre soube o que vestir, o que caçar pra comer/beber, onde construir um lar pra ter onde voltar, dormir, porém muitos ignoraram uma coisa chamada espírito. E isso independe de caráter ou crença, existem céticos de todo o tipo. Pessoas, pra ser mais exato. Existem céticos bons, maus, neutros, acredito que são PESSOAS. Alguém ser bom/mau/neutro depende muito do significado que ela/ele tem pra VC!

E existem aquelas/aqueles que sim, acreditam em vida após a morte.

Se todo mundo tá passando por isso e é mundial, não importa como se manifeste em cada bairro/cidade, então é porque ninguém é burra/burro ou idiota o suficiente pra negar que desde 2012 não foi o que seria o fim do mundo propriamente dito, mas um novo recomeço.

Recomeço é por etapas, muitas vezes é bem pessoal e particular. Quantas vezes um recomeço pro seu círculo de amizades ou familiar pode ocorrer em uma época diferente pra milhares de outras pessoas existentes?!

Todos nós passamos pra uma nova fase em 2000, tanto material quanto espiritual. Muita gente dizia que o mundo iria acabar, porém continuamos aqui. Até os dias atuais.

Se tudo o que a gente faz/diz/erra/acerta ou sente não faz diferença pra esses espíritos e elas/eles continuam tratando a gente sem educação e fazendo a gente se sentir tristes e deprimidas/deprimidos; diria até com raiva ou alteração no humor repentina e sem razão, e a gente volta a ficar bem rapidamente, então só digo uma coisa: A polícia, eu, vc, ela, ele, vamos todos precisar da mão dessas pessoas raras nas quais eu e muita gente sempre botamos fé, no sentido literal mesmo.

O que custaria dar uma mão!?

Nesses anos todos, até mesmo antes do "boom" em 2012, muita gente se perguntou como viver bem. Viver bem sempre significou aceitar a existência de algo além do material, mesmo que isso implique em ceticismo ou apenas tratar o além desse mundo como sentimento e relações humanas pros mais céticos.

Bem, pra essas pessoas nos moldes do personagem "Kazan", essa dúvida/dilema nunca existiu...já conheci pessoas assim. São excepcionais, vc até sente uma perturbação boa na sua própria aura. Eu sou um artista marcial desde os 7 anos de idade e afirmo: É ESPANTOSO !!! Dá pra sentir o Ki de muita gente sem scouter algum, e alguns não vou nem descrever aqui porque com palavras soa falso, seria impossível.

Uma série que relata bem esse tipo de contradição é a série "Creepshow" (A antiga, de 80, porque a nova não chega nem aos pés).

Quem não deve, não teme. E muitas vezes isso vem por parte dos próprios monstros e criaturas sobrenaturais. Claro, isso sempre envolve pessoas ou criaturas que cruzam o caminho de quem provocou a maldição ou invocou o monstro, mas quem sabe, sabe. Quem não deve, não teme. Mesmo que cruze o caminho de quem rogou a praga ou fez mal a alguma coisa.

Bom, parece que pra pessoas que não possuem algum dom específico em relação a esse tipo de coisa que já tá acontecendo faz muitos anos e ficou evidente pra (quase) todo mundo em 2012, nós vamos ter que nos virar sem alguma/algum salvadora/salvador, que é o que pessoas como "Kazan" e outras pessoas especiais (nesse sentido real mesmo da coisa) ficariam tranquilas e felizes se estivéssemos resistindo todos os dias.

Diria até orgulhosos de nós, no sentido mais profundo da palavra.

Tudo o que é escandaloso, polêmico, precisa de barulho pra se fazer presente. Precisa chamar a atenção alheia ou direcionada pra se fazer valer e provar para si mesmas/si mesmos que são ou estão fazendo algo para demonstrar "serviço". Quem quer ser ouvida/ouvido deveria ao menos saber do lugar que tem direito a ocupar.

Quem estraga a vida e a saúde dos outros com barulhos e xingamentos não pode reclamar quando for vítima da mesma situação. E essa...virá de uma maneira que não há como evitar. Virá solitária para cada uma/um de acordo com o que fez todos os dias.

E todo escândalo toma os outros por si. Pra essas e esses, todas as outras e outros também são escândalo ou polêmica. Porque no fundo tudo o que é artificial, berrante demais ou não parece natural remete a um trauma de infância vindo do interior de suas almas.

I doubt mk12 is gonna be good because you cant really move forward well without another retcon. And people are genuinely tired of that.

Mortal kombats story is so fucked up anymore the only thing good about it now is to beat up your friends over local or online and thats fucking sad.

The story is so bad. You can put it on mute and it would be more entertaining. The only thing good about mk11 was shang tsung. And tagawa coming back. But i doubt they are ballsy enough to do that again. Especially since well....you know. In the story. They kinda fucked shang over. At least on lius ending. And the only way to fix that is say both endings (shang and lius) are both canon. But i doubt that since they still wanna suck protag dick. (Sorry i love liu but yeah.)

Not to mention these crappy new movies. The only good ones are the animated ones. But even then they have their problems.

The live action one (2021) is god awful. And the sequel is more likely just as awful if not worse. Because again they are appeasing dc comicbook fans not mortal kombat fans. Which is fucking stupid. Because nobody wants to see those. So what makes you think sticking it in where it doesn't belong will work? WE DONT WANT SUPERHERO MOVIES ANYMORE YOU DUMBASSES! god wb is just as bad as marvel studios.

- travis and connor stoll r way too underrated. the two have been head counselors of the hermes cabin since luke was revealed as a traitor, can u imagine the stress? luke, the person they probably looked up to as a brother, betrayed them. and they didnt even have time to process this when they were  thrown the roles of being hcs. that would have been so stressful and i would probably have broken down if i were them. the stoll brothers taking turns to wake up at ungodly hours because a new camper is crying and homesick and terrified, the stoll brothers having to comfort and take care of new campers, having to deal with the amount of people in that cramped space because not enough campers are being claimed fast enough. having to resolve issues between campers in the hermes cabin all the time. the stolls arent just comedic relief, and we need to stop treating them as such

- annabeth isnt smarter than leo but neither is leo smarter than annabeth. ive seen a lot of discussions about who is smarter and heres my hot take on it: neither. theyre equally smart, just in different ways. leos a genius mathematically speaking. he has no issues solving math problems meant for people much, much older than him. annabeth on the otherhand, is great at strategies etc. she can make an army of 1000 more powerful than the enemy, even if theyre outnumbered. so in my opinion, both are equally as smart//u cant compare their intelligence, because their talents lie in two different areas.

- while i do agree rick riordan isnt a god and that hes bound to make mistakes,, AND that hes given us a lot of representation,, if the representation offends the people its sposed to represent, then theres a problem. im talking about piper as a poc and wearing feathers in her hair. im not a poc, so i cant speak for them on whether or not its wrong, because i dont know either. HOWEVER, i have seen multiple posts BY pocs talking about how they didnt really like rick’s representation of piper, and thats an issue. pocs have been and are still oppressed and discriminated against by many. as a white cis man, we cant really blame him for not knowing (tho he could have done a research,, asked some pocs,, idk), but by representing pocs in that manner, hes influencing impressionable kids/teens into thinking “oh pocs wear feathers in their hair all the time” etc, which isnt true. the pjo/hoo series is extremely successful, and kids who read the books will probably start forming inaccurate opinions on pocs. the amount of fan art that depicts piper with feathers in her hair dont help either. “but rick said so in the books, so its canon” yeah well rick isnt a god and he can get some things wrong at times. im not saying we should cancel him, im saying we should start educating ourselves and not spread false info like pocs wearing feathers in their hair all the time. also that snake song shit where she sang Summertime was just- yeah. bc heres the thing you can be racist, and still include minorities, but portray them in a racist way. And even then, ignorance isn't a thing to admire. Getting those facts wrong still has a major impact. It continues to perpetuate racist stereotypes.

- the fact that most of the strong female characters in the series refuse to be “girly”, and ngl i dont really like that. just because ure girly doesnt mean u cant be strong. 

- piper would have been a great way for him to start making the strong characters act girlier, but instead he went with the “I’m not like other girls” trope which is quite obnoxious to hear constantly, and I don’t think it’s necessarily great for younger girls to read that idea growing up.  the closest we've ever had to a strong female character who was also into "girly" things was Silena. when I was younger I admired Piper's "I'm not like other girls" thing, but then I got older and realized that the whole mentality of "not like other girls" is super obnoxious, and a little bit toxic

hey i just wanna say the long posts genuinely make my day. also can you talk more about gordon freeman character because the way you write him makes me quake in my gay little boots

i would love to talk about gordon freeman. thank u for the opportunity

the first thing i need to communicate about gordon is that this dude sucks. and i say this in the fondest way possible. he is a bitch from the moment he drops into the world until the moment he goes out. if you dont believe me, give it another watch! gordons mouthy and rude for no real reason, at least so far as “being a regular dude on his way into work” goes, and this dude goes around calling his coworkers names with zero provocation. (of course, we all know that the reason is because its a funny guy improv stream that borrows a bit from freemans mind, but im talkin from a character sense.)

but my argument isnt just that gordon freeman sucks. its that he sucks in a very specific way that i find insanely endearing. i love this dude. i love to hate him. hes awful in a very mundane sense - weve all known a guy like this, at least if youve spent too much time online - and its cathartic to watch him suffer because of it.

gordons a smart guy. as written, hes gotta be - hes a recent MIT grad, on his way to work at a top-secret research facility to do weird shit with crystals and theoretical physics. but the thing about smart guys is that theyre often......selectively intelligent. we can see this in the way that he has a hard time navigating his surroundings, and needs the science crew to guide him through it and keep him alive.

this is one of those things that is a natural consequence of somebody going through the game for the first time, but that i am interpreting as “gordon is kind of stupid sometimes”. its uncharitable but its not like he doesnt deserve it. he likes to boss around the crew as if he knows what hes doing, when he often very much does not, and is fond of demeaning their intelligence. hes real bad about this with tommy in particular, treating him like hes a kid whos playing at being a scientist when tommy is actually a decade older than him. all i am saying is that gordon ought to stay humble. hes awful cocky when he perceives himself as better than others.

which, i think, tracks with how cocky he gets when he gives up on the whole “well-meaning citizen” thing and just unloads bullets into people. he puts up a front of being a Nice Guy, you know, just some dude caught in a bad situation who doesnt like seeing his companions obliterate every NPC they come across, but that doesnt stop him from cackling like a fucking madman and mowing down aliens (and soldiers) every once in awhile. when he stops seeing himself as helpless and starts seeing himself as the one in control, the gloves come off. he gets mean. and i think thats very sexy of him

this, among other things, is why i am insistent that gordon freeman is a control freak. he desperately wants to be in control of the situation at all times, shepherding around the science crew primarily by bitching at them, but its of limited success. its futile. sisyphean. tommy, coomer, bubby, and benrey exist almost to torment him with exactly the thing that would make him suffer the most: a gaggle of people running around causing problems for him, but he cant go anywhere without them b/c hes reliant on them to make it out alive.

its perpetual suffering, and its cathartic to watch. and funny, too. and if youre a little weirdo like me, its very, very enjoyable. how twisted up he gets when nobodys listening to him! how sweaty and frazzled he must look. its cute, and it also makes me want to reach through the screen and shake him and tell him to just be a little nicer. he wants control but he doesnt know how to attain it, he doesnt know how to play nice like a real leader. i think its a neat contrast to gordon freeman as we know him in HL2, where he literally is the leader of the resistance and has to live up to it. this is gordon freeman but if he was moe through helplessness.

“helpless” is, i think, a great way to describe him. a core bit of imagery in half life is this sense of railroadedness and helplessness, with gordon freeman being put into play like a chess piece and having no choice but to move forward. and this iteration of gordon leans into that by being totally dependent on the science crew in order to make progress and Not Die. and hes also subject to the whims of benrey, local eldritch weirdo who has basically made it his life mission to fuck with gordon.

gordons anxieties dont help with that. if he wasnt so fun to stress out and fuck with, the science crew probably wouldnt do it so much! too bad for him that they like fucking with him so much that he was driven into a panic attack (multiple times, even, depending on your interpretation). hes got that real neurotic mindset. always worrying about shit that could go wrong, and attempting to exert control over his surroundings in an effort to control the anxiety.

IMO the real way to nail the Neurotic Gordon Freeman Experience is to combine the ever-present anxiety with his pervasive sense of self-loathing. he openly states that he has no friends and nobody seems to like him, and to that, i really gotta say, i wonder why. he doesnt really seem to factor in that hes kind of a bitch, and has way too high an estimation of his own intelligence relative to everybody elses. its really one of the worst ways to be: aware that people dont like you, but unaware of exactly why. if he was like, 10% nicer, he probably wouldnt have had half as many issues getting through black mesa, but also, its funny to see him squawking his way through the game. so, you know.

its stuff like that that makes me headcanon him as a dude with low self-esteem in general. convinced that hes not likable, not attractive, out of his element......impostor syndrome, except that theres some truth to it. this is a guy who truly does not realize how good he has it: he really is just an average shitty dude, and yet, somehow, benrey took a shine to him. some poor motherfucker out there actually likes him and wants to suck his dick. thats dedication

also, i keep bringing up “repression” when i talk about gordon. and hopefully, what ive been talking about helps explain why. he has a strong desire to be a regular dude, not just murdering his way through black mesa, but if hes pushed hard enough he leans into it. gets bossy. picks up a cigar off a dead soldier and takes a long drag, before smacking forzen around with a pistol and ordering him around. gordon freeman is a regular, kind of anxious guy who likes competitive swimming and streaming on justin.tv and making anime references, and he is also a guy who takes a filthy pleasure in making a trained soldier his bitch. and i didnt make up any of this shit - this is purestrain canon, baby. this is a guy with problems

to me, this screams the kind of guy who represses a lot of shit b/c he doesnt feel like its morally decent. you run into this guy a lot online: the wokeboy, the online leftist, the guy who spends too much time on social media websites. (like reddit. i think he would actively use reddit and he would never get any appreciable amount of karma but he never stops posting. its sisyphean! cathartic.) from the way he talks about “bootboys”, i think it tracks. he knows about imperialism, he knows about feminism, but at the end of the day hes your average american white dude who struggles with internalizing it.

a lot of those dudes struggle with sex and gender issues. (dont we all.) when youre trying to be a Good Person(tm), you spend a lot of time thinking about your own relationship to sex and kink and all that shit. and i maintain that a too-online dude who buries a lot of his control freak tendencies would also try to bury a lot of weird sexual shit in an attempt to seem Normal and Well-Adjusted and not like a little freak. i justify this by the sheer number of times gordon blurts out weird sex shit as a joke. there are only two outcomes to making that many piss jokes: either youre secretly a piss guy, or you lathe-of-heaven yourself into becoming one. i will stand by this

ive talked a lot about why this dude sucks. now, let me talk to you about what makes gordon so much fun to write. first things first: hes funny! a subjective evaluation, yeah, but both in- and out-of-character, hes aiming to be funny. and being the straight man to everybody else plays into that whole “helplessness” thing.

secondly: underneath it all, there is a good dude under there. gordon worries when his companions get hurt, he tries to clean them off and patch them up, and hes got his lil leftist heart in the right place. you could even read a lot of his bossy, bitchy demeanor as him wanting to make sure everyone gets out okay and doesnt hurt themselves. when it comes to animals and anti-imperialist sentiment, gordons a pretty good guy.

hes the kind of guy who would probably see a dog on the street and get excited and play with it, but would get really prickly about the correct way to put dishes in the dishwasher. control freak tendencies.

finally, subjecting such a miserable, tormented guy to even more psychological anguish is really, really fun. you feel a little bad for him, but he kind of deserves it. so many problems he goes through are purely of his own making, and if gordon would just relax and quit trying to hard to maintain control - of himself, of the people around him - and own up to having Problems and Issues, he would be a happier guy. but thats why its fun to bend him until he breaks. being a little control freak myself, putting gordon freeman thru psychosexual torment is cathartic.

when it comes to writing his thought processes, the fact that he is canonically some kind of psychotic (yes, i am boldly claiming this. suck me) and i am also canonically some kind of psychotic makes it easier to write what i think his thought processes are. i just give him my brain issues of “getting lost in thought” and “overthinking fucking everything”. a touch of paranoia helps. even if i dont explicitly label him as schizophrenic please know that i am writing him as a paranoid little nutcase at all times because, uh, you write what you know.

paranoid. anxious. of the mindset that everyones out to get him (which isnt helpful when everyone is out to get him). repressed and deeply Not Normal but trying so very fucking hard to be normal and well-adjusted. a control freak with sadistic tendencies who also really, really likes getting bullied by his best frenemy. a hapless little nerd who sounds really cute when his voice starts to break from nerves. and, most importantly, a dumb jock. do not ever forget this.

sorry to be negative but i feel like it's not only bts that has gotten bad recently it's also army, i haven't loved their recent releases and even friends have turned their backs on me because i've tweeted about it when i thought it was fine voicing my opinion :( i am not a fan of many groups and i don't care for drama but sometimes it's like they're doing all the bad things they swear other groups' fans do, i miss it when we all had fun even with other groups' fans now if you interact with anyone else you get put in an anti category or something like that :( lately it feels like you can't say anything and i understand bts get a lot of hate but the hate they used to get pre fame era does not compare to the things armys say about other groups or the way they treat fans they don't agree with :/ and i'm a fan!! i've been for so long!! i just want my boys back :( so i don't understand why they use the hate bts get as an excuse when i bet they weren't even here for persona lmao it makes me sad because bts was my safe haven for a long time and in the span of a year it seems like everything got ruined :( i sincerely hope their music gets better after the pandemic if there even is bts after the pandemic, i keep wondering if these are hyung line's last comebacks and i want to cry thinking this english music and american promotions are what they will remember instead of their amazing music and everything they mean for armys. is success an money all they care about because it seems like that to me :(

S’all good, kinda figured you weren’t being, and a lot of people have asked me this lol. There are so many reasons, and I’ve said this so many times already, but I’ll try to go over some of the main things I can remember:

1) Arrogance: kinda put me off how he’s always responded to criticism. Always kinda had an air of superiority about shit, and it never really bothered me on its own because I think lots of CCs are arrogant & I’m arrogant myself, but combined with all of the following, it became a reason for me to dislike him lol

2) Manipulation of his audience: look, I kinda always knew that CCs with huge fanbases, especially CCs who grow this quickly, have some kind of grasp of how to treat and foster their audience to their greatest advantage. I’ve always been wary of CCs that put on soft or nice personalities, especially since the whole Shane Dawson debacle. But with Dream, it’s been a whole other thing ever since his cheating response video, and I’ve never been able to see him in a good light in regard to how he responds to his fans, ever since. I went into it in a lot more detail back when I first watched the video, the day it dropped, but I’m too exhausted to scrounge that post up, so I’ll summarize: that video had a very specific strategy that he used to victimize himself and appeal to his fans’ compassion for him, and after rewatching the video for the third time that day, it felt gross and calculated to me. The way that he focuses very little on the actual mathematical part of his argument. The way he frames the issue of the mods having favoritism or bias. It was already proven on Reddit and throughout Twitter that the numbers the mods looked at were for good reason, and not because they just wanted to pick the numbers that made Dream look the worst, but that’s how he framed the argument. When I logged onto Twitter and Tumblr that day, there were thousands of fans who had latched onto what he said in the latter half of that video and coming to Dream’s defense, and that’s kinda when it hit me: this guy fucking knows what he’s doing, and he’s doing it well, and I really really dislike it. There’s about a hundred other ways he manipulates his audience, including not coming to people’s defenses when huge chunks of his audience attack them (even though the people had respectful and correct criticisms of him), defending stans so adamantly in the face of antis, and posting periodic alt tweets that help garner the illusion that he super cares about his fans; but, that cheating response video was the major red flag, for me.

3) Cheating & lying: as is likely no surprise to y’all, I think Dream cheated lmao. At first, I was ecstatic that he had actually made a detailed response video and put out a report with the help of an actual professional, but as I read up on his supposed statistical argument and dissected the parts of his argument that felt off to me, I realized maybe he had cheated. Talking to some STEM major friends of mine, who weren’t into MCYT but had obviously heard about the whole debacle because they like Twitter and Minecraft, kinda put the nail in the coffin for me. I’m not nearly smart enough or have a good enough memory to detail exactly why I think he cheated on this blog, right now, in April, but essentially: his main argument relied upon claiming mod bias, instead of a sound mathematical or statistical argument; there’s no way of proving that the world files he provided to the mods and in the open source weren’t altered; the statistical problems he points out (i.e., stopping effect) don’t actually skew the original mods’ model nearly as much as his supposed PhD guy would say; and the odds he comes up with might not be nearly as impossible as 1 in 7 trillion, but they still come up to around 1 in 100 million, which is still fucking ridiculous, considering that there are only, like, 120 million people in the world who play Minecraft.  Not impossible, but laughable that he expects people to believe that. But... I guess they did, lmao. The thing that peeved me the most about the whole thing was the adamant lying lmao. When you look at the situation from the perspective of “dream cheated,” you realize just how fucked up all his Twitter responses, his adamance in streams and that video, and the general mood among his friends is... idk man, it’s just highly fucked.

4) Relationship with stans: look, there are significant numbers of  his fans that take part in Twitter cancelling vendettas, who spread around information about other CCs and their fellow fans that is false and meant to villify them, etc., and he never fucking says anything. It really, really bothers me. There are too many instances to enumerate, but a few that have caught my eye were when Dream stans would attack Techno, prior to their battle and when a Native American woman politely explained why he shouldn’t use Native music, he responded and said he wouldn’t, but tons of stans continued to attack her in her replies for “being so harsh/mean.” Like, he knows that just one word from him will make his fandom follow his beck and call. All it would’ve taken was one fucking word. There are so many fucking people that have been harrassed off of social media platforms because of the hivemind that is dttwt, for christ’s sake.

5) Reddit posts: All of the above were reasons for me to mildly dislike the guy prior to the Reddit posts, but they weren’t really enough to make me stop posting about c!Dream or reblogging fanart or reading DNF fics or watching Manhunts. I kinda just clowned on the guy, answered the occasional ask about the cheating thing or something related, and left it at that. The Reddit posts not only pissed me off for their content, but for the lying, as well. Do you think I fucking cared about him cheating at speedrunning Minecraft, of all games? Fuck no. What I cared about was the adamant lying that went into the whole debacle. Kinda the same with the Reddit posts. I’m one to usually forgive creators who acknowledge past errors, obviously. It is creators who try to brush stuff off, or even worse, create an elaborate lie to cover up allegations, that put me off a fuck ton. This is the reason I could never be comfortable with watching Pewdipie after I realized all the shit he had brushed off, and it’s now the reason I can’t go back to watching Dream. There is so much evidence that points to guilt, including but not limited to: his first move when the slideshow dropped (before posting to Twitter) being deleting as many old Discord messages as he could, the contradiction between him at first denying the account was his at all then changing the story to say he shared it with a friend, the wording and phrasing in the political posts being almost identical to the non-political posts that were clearly him (i.e., the one that explains his demographics perfectly), and the timing of the political posts (some of them being posted mere minutes after posts that were verifiably him, like the picture of Patches to the cats subreddit). People can claim that he’s likely changed, and what this it matter, as long as politics don’t affect his work now, but I can’t believe this fundamental misunderstanding of why bigotry in entertainment matters. I’ve always had a problem with the adoration this fandom has for cishet white men, and the constant criticism of non-cishet, non-white, non-men, but this really feels like the final slap in the fucking face. It’s like everyone truly believes that it doesn’t matter, that his beliefs couldn’t have possibly affected the way he’s treated fellow CCs in his circles or any of the number of people that depend upon Dream, directly and indirectly, for employment/CC clout. It’s like everyone truly believes that political ideology has no effect on the way we perceive, treat, and behave around other people in literally any field, not just politics. I, just... Christ. I don’t really wanna unpack my emotions about this whole thing right now, so I won’t. I’ll just say: I dislike Trump supporters and ex-Trump supporters alike, I dislike conservatives who claim they’re centrists (every fucking guy my age does this, it’s infuriating and makes me want to bash my head into the nearest wall), I dislike people who levy their fans against criticism - even when it’s righteous - and I dislike people who lie about their past actions; Dream fits all those categories, so I dislike him.
