dazai mentioning that hes thirsty offhandedly and chuuya hands over his water bottle. that he just drank out of. (dazai has to Sit and Think about that one for a bit.)

chuuya lending clothes, when they were more or less the same height. giving dazai extra food from his plate (read: all but throwing it at dazai but hey! it ended up in his plate, better eat it). walking into his room for something and then leaving the door wide fucking open when he leaves. going to make coffee, half asleep, and flicking dazais ear as he goes.

In the modern AU, David's school bag is an absolute mess.

The bag is almost always half open with chargers, books, and copies hanging out of it. When it is actually open, it is simply a disaster. Nothing is organised or clean. Everything is just tossed in there because this man is in too much of a hurry to get to his activities to care about what's inside that bag.

However, when Sarah sees this, she's close to having a fucking heart attack at the sight. She sits him down to make him watch as she pulls everything out of his bag. Worksheets from months prior, notes from the newsies, gum wrappers, pencils that are basically stubs at this point are pulled out as well. Davey was embarrassed, but thankful it wasn't as messy as he thought it'd be when he was confronted about it.

Sarah has now made this a monthly thing because she does not trust her brother to stay organised and collected for that long.

mermaid kohane:

kohane is a siren, but she's not a very good one. she doesn't have the confidence for this "luring sailors to their demise" thing, much less singing as a concept. as she's swimming around, a beautiful voice coming from above the surface catches her attention, and she's shocked to realize it comes from a human.

an, daughter of renowned sailor ken shiraishi, works a low level job on his ship of cleaning and maintenance. she's tried not to keep her hopes up, but she's dreamed of meeting (and maybe befriending) a mermaid.. who wasn't haruka. when kohane nears the surface and is caught in a trance by this human girl scrubbing the deck and humming, an is ecstatic when she notices. she's also dumbfounded by the idea of a siren who doesn't sing, and helps kohane to build her confidence and find her voice.
