HOLY SHIT I did ALOT of writing/edits these last few days!

Also tragically remembered that I wanted all flashbacks/past sequences to be monochrome (except for blood, fire, significant objects), so ha I wasted sooo much time last week coloring the Chapter 0's first few pages! But it looks sck as FUCK, almost like Noir!

Thankfully I finalized the main plot/arc differences BEFORE drawing too ahead. Im SO excited with the filler content/edits Ive made, SG has a very VERY compelling charcahter development plan/backstory thats REALLY gonna take what the original Rough Day already gives us about her to a different FUCKING level.

not to harp on the same thing too much (well. except i always do that) buut actually fr im gonna have so much fun editing this just because so many shots in the franchise are just beautiful

its more fun to edit when i have really cinematic non-speaking shots to play with, and w Saw i have a wealth of themmmmmm, of both characters and traps

disturbing imagery aside they make so much use of color and lighting its so pretty from a cinematography standpoint i really love it. not enough people talk about that. or maybe im just too much of a film nerd

anyway this very well might take me anywhere from a few days to a few months idfk. im pretty sure Oh No! took me a few months which was fun for the same exact reasons, and the song Im using now is even longer

ok im going to talk about orange county (2002)

ok specifically im going to talk about lance, shaun’s older brother and ultimate failwife of the movie because jesus christ do i love a strung out bitch.

i’ll talk more at length when its not 2am, but i found it super interesting that they make their shitty parents so obvious and front & center about the fact that they definitely more than likely neglected and fucked up their eldest son and then did it again to their youngest. With less success mind you, Shaun seems pretty well rounded if not a little quirky due to his upbringing and general califronia-isms. But Lance on the other hand. Lance….

We’re introduced to him begging his little brother for a piss test for god’s sakes

He mentions his parole officer at multiple points, I wish we got a little background so I had the pleasure of finding out what the hell he went to jail for in the past. Anyway.

Their mom is shown to be an emotionally manipulative alcoholic, with a history of sabotaging any chance of her sons leaving home. Lance gets high later on and starts rambling on about wanting to start a clothing brand or something or other, which I’m sure he actually does, and talks about a different clothing designer that went off to live in hawaii etc etc

he also goes on a weird mini ramble about how much he loves his brother and they dont say it enough “ITS NOT THE DRUGS MAN….” he loves Shaun he LOVES HIS FAMILY HE WANTS TO MAKE THEM PROUD HE WANTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL…

With how their mom treats them and how devastatingly hooked he is on the random shit he takes— that’s obviously not going to happen anytime soon, and Shaun says as much, which does end up hurting Lance’s feelings ( even though he shouldnt have burned the goddamn stanford admissions building down in the first place but i digress ).

Shaun talks idly about wanting to go to college and their mom immediately flies into an entire tizzy, immediately whining about how she’s going back to bed to rot and how she doesn’t want him to leave, I can only imagine how Lance was treated growing up— and although he doesn’t seem terribly bothered about not going to college and frying his brain to death on drugs, I’m sure there is something there…

How can I not be completely enamored with a drugged out sad failure of a man who can’t and won’t bear to face his severely alcoholic mother while also destroying himself on various uppers. While their dad just completely fucks off. Their dad is barely present, Shaun tells him to his face that he doesn’t do anything for them and he just kinda shrugs it off at first- mostly because he assumes Shaun wants to be “nothing but a broke writer” and only cares about money but still. he ends up pulling through after a rekindling fling with their mom but both seem fairly relieved when he ends up not going off to school…which yes ultimately is good for Shaun!!! but still…geez…how supportive…

It just makes me think…it just makes me ponder… what could have lance and shaun’s childhoods been like…i don’t think it’s ever stated how old lance is, but i’m guessing he’s meant to be at least twice shaun’s age or something like that…

shaun obviously loves his brother very much, shown after the …fire, he forgives him and (presumably) drags him back into the car after his fun escape incident…god…younger siblings forced to caretake for their idiot failure older siblings my beloved…shaun cares so much about his fucked up family really its something else.

oh the end…the end my beloathed…my beloved…

I love that he barely even gets to give his mom a hug at the end, she barely even reacts to it he barely even gets the chance to get his hands on her shoulders shes basically ignoring it oh my god goodnight i will edit this post in the morning

I’ve finished watching almost all of ROTTMNT S1 with my friends and Man. Jesus Christ.

The episode turtle-dega nights made me really emotional. Tbf any episodes where dads are a main focus in a show make me emotional. Especially if a main character has a strained/complicated relationship with said dad, but I can’t say i ever expected Rise to make me cry.

I cant fully explain how I feel, other than Donnie and Mikeys writing in the episode is effectively my two brain cells when it comes to my own dad whom I’ve cut contact with. Idk maybe the episode is different for other people, but it’s actually my favorite in se1 so far and genuinely touching.

I really REALLY related to Donnie in this episode, I mean I relate to him a lot but this hit different. The way Donnie and Mikey both react to Splinter wanting to spend time with them is something I’ve experienced myself, and I’ve been both Donnie being desperate for father-son time, and Mikey being (rightfully) suspicious of why my dad whose never around suddenly wants to hang out.

I also enjoy Splinters writing, I think he’s an interesting take on a father figure character. He obviously loves his kids, but his trauma and emotional distance makes it hard on him. He’s clearly a guy who struggles to cope with things. I also like that like?? While yes Splinter was wrong for using Donnie to get the tank, he isn’t vilified for wanting to feel like a person again and not some nasty mutated rat.

More importantly though I like they let Donnie call Splinter out, it’s obvious all the boys crave paternal affection but there’s been several moments showing how badly it effects Donnie. And to me the fact this is the first episode we hear Splinter call his kid by his ACTUAL NAME instead of color really to me cements how Splinter realized just how badly he fucked up in this situation. I just enjoy the resolution, I enjoy Splinter telling his boys hes proud, I enjoy seeing Splinter realize his effect on his kids.

Idk maybe other people don’t think Splinter deserved forgiveness maybe they do. This entire episode was extremely cathartic for me personally because it’s something I wish I could do with my own dad.

Small edit: im so proud of my skrunkly rat dad for improving so much since this episode augh. We’re in s2 now and hes so great

the path to gold is paved with the bones of the monsters that came before us: i’m really proud of this one. the character arc developed for atsumu and his journey through the fic are just really special to me 

the man who moved oceans to find home and the one who swallowed his raw heart whole: this is my iwaoi manifesto, my writing magnum opus, my final frontier…i’m so goddamn proud of this fic. it’s the culmination of literal years of work and i’m just so excited that i finally finished it, actually edited it, and then was able to post it. it feels like such a journey to have written it, and i can see how my writing has evolved and improved SO MUCH from draft 1 to its final form. this fic is just rly important 2 me

lifespan of the sparrow, caged versus free: im really proud of this one, and i genuinely just vibe with rereading it because i’m so happy w the way it turned out

Your taste is immaculate. Love finding other fellow BABYs. It’s funny because as I got more into B.A.P I absolutely fell in love with Daehyun maaan…dem lips a chef can kiss them and I found a love for Youngjae when listening to more of his solo stuff. Like his song feat with Zelo called Stay with Me, that right there is one of my favorite songs. They’re all so super talented and have all their own unique charm.

Woowowow those songs are my favs too. Along with XIÈ XIÈ, WǓ GUO DEN HEN HOA XIÈ XIÈ~. He performed all three of those songs. I was so hype especially when xiè xiè came on. He did an encore and performed the song again and I accidentally started singing before his set started because it was edited to fit the performance. I still cringe because it was so silent and I KNOW HE HEARD ME.!!!! I SAW HIM SLIGHTLY CHUCKLE BEFORE I TURNED AWAY FROM EMBARRASSMENT…I’m sorry that concert really made me realize wow…I do partake in celebrity culture lol.
