20 questions for writers
thank you for the tag @fanfictiongreenirises I finally managed to finish a tag game!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
168- with 44 podfics and the rest are regular fics!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
346,848. unfathomable number who is she where did she come from
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Batman (Batfam) my love my life, but 9-1-1 is a close second with one-offs for a lot of my other passing interests.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Floppy Bird - crack fic that was meant to be an angst fic that I never understood why people liked so much asfhjs
cocoa on a cold night - a classic timby holiday fic that I wrote in the middle of summer, talk about environmental storytelling
secrets un(revealed) - the only purposeful long fic I've ever written, and also the most trope mashing I've ever done with reverse robins, magical realism au, and delicious delicious miscommunications (in my head the only fic that deserves to be in the top five :wheeze: )
Eggshells - vent fic alert !! very embarrassing that people like this I try not to think about it ":)
taking the blade (for you and yours) - a round robin fic written with the server and CHOCK full of Damian suffering.
5. Do you respond to comments?
NO PICTURES. NO COMMENT. I DONT KNOW HOW TO READ.
no jk jk I really really try to but once I start getting behind it's just a whole spiral. these days I have a better chance of replying to a comment on an old fic than a brand new one because I dont want leave them half replied
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
any of my death fics probably? I think with DC a death is a little more inconsequential than other fandoms just because of how often it's unpermanent, so as a concrete answer, I'll say for you (i would cross the line). nothing quite like parental grief.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
happy ending wink-wonk or XD
probably Who The Hell Is Red Hood? - I've done things there with growth and healing that DC HQ would shudder to imagine
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not regularly, thank everything, but the one controversial three-some I posted needed comment regulation lmao
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes and uh, the kinky kind? idk take a look for yourselves I guess
10. Do you write crossovers?
Yes, and they're ALWAYS unserious- Buck from 9-1-1 dating Emma from Friends (yes Ross and Rachel's kid) anyone?
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Uh, not by a person? as far as I know? but I have found my fic on those like, document websites??? which is weird lmao just read them on your phones guys not everything needs to be uploaded
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
nope!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
weee yes! round robin my beloved, and also every fic @canonicallyshort and I have written in our threads. those count. to me. emotionally.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I WILL GO DOWN WITH MY MULTISHIP (which really means I'm never going down at all) but really I dont think I will ever get over Merthur... or Buddie... or- you see what I mean?
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
oh god I have so many wip that I am holding out hope for but my biggest WIP is an unpublished hellhole affectionately entitled "Death Pit" by everyone who is working on it- most notably because it features a literal Death Pit, every horror, angst, whump, and trauma trope you can think of, and a cast of characters and a plot thread so long we have 20+ page outline documents that aren't even fully updated... I shudder to think what will become of it one day, I imagine sentience isn't very far off
16. What are your writing strengths?
why is this an interview question. I dont know my strengths really?? um. I have good ideas, that one I'll say. execution is a different story (likely one that will never get told. like the rest of my good ideas)
I also think I do fairly well with scene descriptors. I really like to set a scene because I'm seeing a movie in my head and you all should too!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I'm down to clown globally! I dont like to use google translate though, so if im writing in another language it's only because SOMEONE on the server is a native speaker and can vouch for my text.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
oh god one direction. head in hands. it was an 'adopted by 1d' fic that I made my mom beta, and turned it in to my 6th grade English teacher as my creative writing assignment. then I made a poem about it. then I wrote a song about it. thankfully it never got published and is trapped in the cursed purple file folder it was 'hidden' in since 7th grade. my first published fic was almost 7 years later with a Gomens fic!
20. Favourite fic you've written?
AHh um. favorite child scene here, but top contenders include: lithium + 5 for its graphic design and medical accuracy, fiery veins on speechless days for its emotional whump that makes me hurt every time I reread it, [PODFIC] wither on the shore which is not a fic I wrote but one of my favorite podfics of @silk-scarlet-ribbons 's works.

7, 14, 26, 64 for the fic writer asks 😘
7. How do you choose which POV to write from?
sometimes it just comes to me naturally, like i just have an idea for a fic and the idea is already from a certain perspective? but occasionally it’s a bit trickier and sometimes i will actually start writing from one POV and then end up rewriting it a couple of hundred words in (i did this with just found me a brand new box of matches after realising it felt more natural to write it from lando POV).
sometimes if i can’t decide the POV, it’s helpful for me to think about what i am trying to achieve in terms of character study, and whether i want that to be an exterior or interior experience. so for instance, i wrote all the blood runs hot before it’s cold from christian’s POV because i wanted to explore christian’s delulu personality (which required interiority (loool this autocorrected as inferiority)) and the way toto’s actions don’t always match his words (which can be done from an exterior perspective).
14. how do you write emotional scenes? Do you ever feel what the characters feel? Do you draw from personal experiences?
i definitely do feel what the characters feel! i get character bleed quite easily when i’m writing and can knock myself into an awful mood because i’ve been writing a difficult scene.
i think a lot about emotional scenes and often rewrite them a lot to better fit the characters. i consider how i feel this person would react in real life based on available evidence (heavily caveated that obviously this is all made up and i have no real clue!) so for instance i write toto as tending towards anger and emotional rigidity, oscar towards rationalising and compartmentalising, mitch as sensitive but fairly even-keeled, and lando and jev much more emotionally honest but prone to volatility.
i draw from personal experience a fair bit. not really for the actual situations or relationship issues, but certainly i’ve referred back to events in my own life for establishing an emotional tone (and also for a lot of the sex stuff lmao).
26. Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?
ooh i dunno! i don’t really think many of my fics are a wild ride plot-wise — they tend to either be largely plotless unhinged porn, or fairly gentle slowburn friends to lovers stuff. i would say maybe born and raised for the job, or all the blood runs hot before it’s cold? definitely something featuring toto anyway lmao.
i think born and raised for the job is probably the wildest in terms of the kink content and particularly the psychological underpinnings of it (shades of daddy kink with all that implies given that it’s from mick schumacher’s POV) even though plot-wise it is…sparse.
64. Something you love to see in smut.
GROSSNESS. especially in kinky fic but generally in smut. now, part of this is because i have a pretty heavy kink for body fluids and wet&messy stuff irl. but part of it is because sex IS messy and gross, and so are bodies. sanitised depictions of sex, whether that’s in mainstream media (films, TV, whatever) or in fic, can have their place i guess — like, it’s fantasy and it’s nice to just imagine sex where everything is in soft focus and everyone has simultaneous orgasms sometimes, i get it! — but unless it’s done well, it just turns me off. i’m also not sure it does anything good for the mindset of younger people reading it who might not have much experience of “real life” sex (it certainly fucked me up for a good while and idk if that’s a conversation we ought to have more often in fandom and fic circles, speaking as, god help me, probably a fandom elder at this point), but that’s a whole other conversation.
ANYWAY, to get back to the point, i like smut that is filthy and messy and fumbling, sweaty and uncomfortable and sometimes it takes forever to come and sometimes you get a cramp and and it doesn’t matter! that’s what makes it hot! my landoscar fic playboy in the grotto is my favourite example of that: weird badly negotiated weird piss kink that takes place in a bathtub, covered in various bodily fluids, and nobody is quite sure why it’s hot but it IS.
thank youuuu 😘
get to know your fic writer!

Promo your own fanart, fanfic, anything really. Then promo someone else's content that you love and want the world to see. Let's support each other!
When you're done send this to two other people! 💕✨
Hmmm, we’ll I don’t have a huge amount but I do treasure the few pieces I have managed to put out there! Being my first time writing, each little drabble, chapter and one-shot is its own battle I’ve conquered in one way or another!
The two works I am the most proud of are:
No More Hiding
This is the first and only piece I’ve written with real plot and it’s the full deal with fluff, angst and a little bit of smutty goodness.
Strike
This is the latest chapter to my Domestic Devotions series and it’s absolutely filthy, but I think it’s one of my best written chapters to date.
Stand alone content I absolutely NEED to share:
Missing Moment 3 - After the (visible) kiss
An absolute personal favourite and one I’ve gone back to read multiple times, just because it was so beautifully written and exactly how I imagined it would be. This is one of the first pieces I ever read by Chantel @ungaroyals and her work continues to always amaze me. (Psst Follow me was another great one that I remember yelling at Chantel about, with it being her first near-smut piece)
Made it with your hands
Pure smut with feels from our beloved Lili @omar-rudeberg who has too many beautiful works, so check them all out, but this one is definitely another personal favourite of mine!
Give myself in sweet surrender
waitingstar wrote this in response to a post I wrote up hoping for a slow dancing wilmon fic, and I was not disappointed.
Favourite series:
Unfortunate Romance
I don’t feel like our love is brand new
Call me up late
Love would be burning red
Did you see the love in my eyes, oh were you gazing through this disguise

Birth of a Fanfic Writer
When I was seven, my mom bought a giant roll of perforated printer paper. I rolled it out on my cousin’s carpeted living room and got down on my belly, colored pencils in hand, and drew horse after horse. I named them all and as I drew them, I spoke aloud the story of their lives as it burst into existence within my head.
In 2005, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe came out in theatres. I watched it at home with my family. I remember being in Costco with my dad and him picking out the boxset of the books to go with the DVD, promising to read them to me. Such was the start of a tradition, but that’s a tale for another time. The important bit was dancing in the front yard under the aspen tree, imagining myself beside Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter. They were soon joined by Codename: The Kids Next Door, of which Numbah Five and Numbah One were my favorite. There must have been others, but those are the only two I can remember. My first fandoms if you will.
I don’t remember how old I was when I started, but on long car rides I would be arm myself with a pencil and a brand new notebook. I started many stories that way, writing out the first few chapters before I burned out. I only remember the plot of one. I had recently found a single issue of a comic from the 2003 Teen Titans cartoon. A bad guy tried to impersonate Starfire’s long lost brother and her pet pupa didn’t trust the impersonator. That was my first introduction to superheroes and it was love at first sight. So I wrote a self-insert where my family and I were magical shapechangers and Batman wiped out my people and killed my mom because he thought we were bad guys. Robin questioned him, but Batman was sure he was doing the right thing. I was raising my siblings in a tree when I rescued Robin, who I aged down to be my future love interest, and togethe we were going to show Batman he was wrong or something. I don’t remember what I had planned. I couldn’t have been older than nine. The angstiest thing I could have possibly read at that age was Percy Jackson. I have no idea where that dark storyline came from, but it was the furthest I would get in any story until NaNoWriMo 2014.
I was determined to create an entirely original story. But I found myself writing loopholes where I could connect my characters back to the MCU and DCEU. I did finish NaNoWriMo, but I had to make the outlines for books two and three. My family likes to tease me about He-Man appearing in book three.
In 2018, my friend Annie introduced me to Voltron. I can’t remember what season we were waiting on, but in the parking lot of early morning seminary, she introduced me to fanfic. A story about Pidge getting switched with the Green Lion along with other adventures. It was Though She Be Little by TheRedScreech. I read it, enjoyed every bit, and didn’t think about fanfic again.
Some family friends tried to get us into the YouTube channel craze. My sister and I were going to make a goofy cartoon and try to make money off it. I wrote to Star Wars about permission to do so and was politely told no. I was going to do it anyway and researched fair use laws. I wrote a script. I still didn’t think about fanfic.
During 2019, through regular dog sitting during the week and a month-long stint housesitting during the summer, I watched a lot of tv. I’d burned through all the available seasons for Tales of Arcadia, season seven of Voltron had failed me, so I rewatched my beloved Transformers Animated. And then I watched Transformers Prime and even Rescue Bots. But I was still starved for more. As I lay awake in my apartment at college in the early pre-Covid months of 2020, I remembered what Annie had told me about fanfic. How if I wanted to avoid smut, I should stay away from M-rated fics and so on. Armed with that knowledge, I plunged into the world of fanfiction.net and scoured the Transformers section. I stayed up all night reading @megadoomingir ‘s Redeem the Stars. Didn’t sleep much better when I started what was then up of their Stop Me.
And somewhere during those late nights of early adulthood, I realized I could create original work. But that’s never been what I wanted. Ever since I was a little girl, I had wanted to write fanfic. So in an empty classroom on campus, I called up my sister and read her the first drafts of what would become Widow’s Legacy and the stories that would come after.
I’ve grown a lot since then. Decided to let go of my shameless self-insert, The Fossa. Let a lot of other original characters and oc-centric worldbuilding go too. Started to think critically about the canon I was working with. But I think most of that was a product of growing up. Nothing I was doing before was wrong; it was a product of a less mature me who would have been writing for an audience who was in the same mindspace. I grew up, and so did the kind of story I wanted to tell.
Where ever you are on this journey and trust me, it’s a journey, be proud of it. Maybe you still want to write original work or like me, you’re happy to write fanfic forever. Don’t be ashamed of what you wrote, dreamed up, or outlined in the past. It’s great for where you were in life at the time, a reflection of a past you who is still learning, growing, and changing. They are your five-year-old self’s scribbles, loving placed on the fridge and maybe even saved for years. They are only made more precious by the masterpieces you create today because they are testaments to your beginnings. Your old fics and ideas are the birthplaces of that story you wrote that touched that one reader and left them forever changed. Be proud, and keep writing.

Fic Writer Review
Tagged by @maos2013 (thank you!!!)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
28.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
188,716. I haven't looked at that in a while, so I was definitely surprised to see it that high.
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
4. Only 3 I posted while only 2 of them I have finished fics for. They are My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (I WAS 12), Avengers (the only fandom I haven't posted a fic for but have written for), Descendants, and of course, Agents of Shield. I feel like there might be more, but these are the only ones I have full memory of writing for.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
This is Home 277 kudos - My very first aos fic and also the very first fic I ever posted on ao3! And of course, it's a Dousy baby fic, which is kinda on-brand for me at this point. Also, it turned 1 year old almost a couple weeks ago, so there's that!
A Miracle Starts With a Beat of a Heart 192 kudos - 1/2 of my multi-chapter fics, and currently my longest multi-chapter fic on ao3. It's also the first fic to reach 100k words. This is definitely the fic I've worked the hardest on, and I'm so proud of what I've created.
Bittersweet Moments 79 kudos - I was surprised by this since I haven't updated this in a long time. My Mama May and Daisy additional/missing scenes fic that I should probably continue, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Probably should cause I have so many fluffy and angsty moments for these two.
Aftermath 73 kudos - 3x15 aftermath/missing scenes. 3x15 is my favorite season 3 episode, so I just wanted to do a one-shot of the aftermath with the team finding Daisy at the top of the building and also her in recovery with a little bit of sweet Mama May and Daisy moments.
Bedtime Stories 64 kudos - The first one-shot sequel to This is Home and the first fic written in the Their Future series about the kids of the Shield Team. This was in where Daniel tells his and Daisy's youngest child, Eleanor, a bedtime story of how he and Daisy first met. Just fluffy father-daughter bonding. And of course, Dousy cause you can never have enough of them.
5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
YES!! I respond because it literally makes my day whenever I see a comment, so I want to make sure I let everyone who comments on my works know that I am so grateful for their comment, even if it's just as simple as a heart emoji.
6. What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
I don't think I really have that many fics that end in angst if they do at all. I mostly write fluff, but if there is angst, it's a hurt/comfort so it usually ends in fluff. I guess Aftermath ends more ominously (but not really since we know what happens after 3x15), so that's the closest I can think of to an angsty ending. I do know that Chapter 4 of A Miracle Starts With a Beat of a Heart ends in slight angst since that part of the fic is between seasons 5 and 6, so they get the news that Coulson dies at the end of it.
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you've written?
Nope. I don't have the imagination for it.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not that I know of.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. Sort of. The very first Descendants fic I wrote when I was 16/17 (so about 4 years ago) and posted on Wattpad had its plot stolen and the characters' names were changed. The author added "inspired by [my fic's name] by [my username at the time]" later so I got credit eventually. I wasn't really upset at the time since I was still starting out writing frequently, and I guess if someone copies your fic, that means you did something right that they liked.
However, if it were to happen now, I would probably be super upset since I feel more connected to my fics now than before.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated.
No, but that would be cool to see!
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope, but I think it was my freshman year of high school, me and my friends wrote """fics""" about each other, and it was super weird but super funny at the same time.
13. What's your all-time favorite ship?
DOUSY!!! They really took my favorite fictional character ever and paired her with my favorite character from Agent Carter and probably my favorite male character ever, and they just worked so well! Like I was already excited for season 7 when I heard they were bringing Daniel back, but then put him and Daisy together... OMG! I would've thought their meeting was impossible, but then time travel was added to the show, and they just compliment each other so well!
14. What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
I don't really think I have WIPs that I won't eventually finish. For fics at least. I wrote a couple of original stuff during my freshman/sophomore years of high school, and I probably won't touch those ever again.
But if we're talking WIPs that I haven't written and they're in my head... next question!
15. What are your writing strengths?
I feel like I do fluff really well.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I feel like I still need to work on high-emotion stuff. Like showing anger and stuff and using blows towards the characters that don't sound too cringy/forced when they say it.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
For me, as long as it makes sense for the character who is saying it and when they're saying it. I try not to do it too much since I only speak English fluently while I can only understand some words and phrases in Tagalog, and I don't want to mess something up since I use Google Translate if I do write in another language. For example, I think I only really write Elena speaking Spanish and May speaking Mandarin in kind of happy emotional scenes. I might throw in a few phrases here and there in Spanish for Elena since she sometimes does that in the show as well.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. (AGAIN, I WAS 12. DON'T JUDGE ME.)
19. What's you're favorite fic you've written?
A Miracle Starts With a Beat of a Heart quickly became a favorite of mine, but I truly do love most of the fics that I have written.
Tagging: @stilltryingtowrite @mtab2260 @marvelsquake @puddle-of-awesomeness and any other fic writers who want to do this!

Happy Halloween, Ben!  I hope you are continuing to feel better!  Do you expect any trick-or-treaters tonight?  (Is that a thing in the Netherlands?)  I hope you find lots of good candy at the grocery store!  I myself have two bags of dark chocolate Kit Kats to hand out to all the kids I foresee coming by (*wink wink*)  Your pumpkin is adorable, by the way.  I wanted to do some cool faces with mine, but my friends that normally host a Halloween party decided to just hold their Costume and Pumpkin Decorating Contests online, and the theme was “2020”.  I thought “well, I’ll just get two pumpkins, and use one for the contest and one for whatever."  Then one of them started molding, which seemed very on brand for this year, so I just went with it, and ended up with meme pumpkins.  I included a color pic, so you can see just how gross the one got.  Fun fact: the top of it is held on by being skewered with a dowel rod and set in place along the rim.  In case you were curious (you probably weren’t, but oh well), trying to scoop out a moldy pumpkin is indeed deeply gross.  Imagine a physical manifestation of the sensation most people seem to feel when you say the word "moist”.  Just…so gross and squishy…  *shudders in remembrance*
My costume attempt turned out okay given that I managed to pull it together entirely out of things I already had.  In case you don’t recognize the symbol, I was one of the more recent comic versions of Black Canary (this one at least had proper shorts).  Let me tell you, trying to free hand draw that goddamn bird outline with no printer or projector was an adventure.  I had to do it backwards, essentially, too, because I realized that pencil marks are extremely difficult to erase off of craft foam.
And I just wanted to show off that I’m the kind of classy bitch who drinks wine out of a can (also, it’s an awesome can.)  To be fair, it was actually surprisingly decent (I say, as though I know shit about wine).  I sent a picture to a friend, and she started teasing me, and I said “it’s a rainbow can, how was I supposed to pass it up?”, and she was like “you know what, fair, I would have done the same thing."  I also got some kind of sparkling red wine to drink tonight for proper spooky effect.  The cashier commented on it being good as I was checking out, so here’s hoping.
I know what you mean about endless plot ideas, too.  I started a couple of smaller pieces to work on when my longer WIP gets overwhelming, got on a roll, and have almost finished one.  I got super excited when I finally got to a few of the lines that were among the first I thought of for it months ago, then realized "fuck, now I have to write the smut, don’t I?"  So, hopefully the wine will offer some inspiration there, too. XD
By the way, I totally wasn’t kidding about the Chris Evans/Henry Cavill rom com idea.  I totally went and found it in my FB messages and screen-shot it so that I can now inflict share it.  Buckle up, here we go:  So, Chris’s character’s great-aunt (played by Angela Landsbury) talks him into coming to stay with her along the English coast after his divorce, and help her run her mystery book shop.  Only, less than a week in, she runs off to go on vacation with her boy toy (Christopher Walken).  By this point, he’s already ended up in an unexpected rivalry with the co-owner of the comic shop next door (Henry), who’s been trying to get the great-aunt to sell him part of the bookstore’s storage space to build a table-top gaming area.  The woman (Natalie Dormer) who runs the little bakery/tea shop attached to the other side of the bookstore has a running bet with the other co-owner of the comic shop (John Boyega) on how long it will take for the two men to realize just what type of tension there actually is between them.  Chris could wear hipster glasses, and skinny jeans, and cozy sweaters/cardigans, that he could remove at strategic moments to reveal the ridiculousness that is his arms and chest.  Henry could wear tight jeans and fitted nerdy t-shirts and SET THE CURLS FREE GODDAMMIT.  And of course at least one encounter would have to happen at a dog park, because both their RL dogs are absolutely adorable and deserve a moment in the spotlight.  Please, Netflix, I’m begging you.  Make it happen.  (If you curious, this particular moment of inspiration struck during a discussion over "if Evans is America’s Ass, is Cavill Britain’s?"  My friends are also classy like me.  XD )
Well, on that note, I’m gonna shut up for a while, and go wash the color out of my hair, because I think it’s been on at least half an hour longer than it should be, technically.  Enjoy your sugary findings, and I hope they and your coffee give plenty of energy for writing your various projects! :D  I hope you continue to feel better, and that things keep looking up!  Take care!  *Properly socially distanced and seasonally spoopy hugs to you both!*
Okay 1: omg I need that gay wine. (Rainbow wine, whatever.) That is amazing, I love it. And I totally get why you needed that. I don’t have any wine for myself tonight. But I have some Budweiser (Or well “Bud” as it is called here), cans of coke and Jack Daniels, so I should be good.
Tumblr media
And I think your jacket turned out pretty well! Looks awesome. (Though I get what you mean about craftfoam. It is a bitch to work with when you only have pencils and no stencils.)
Halloween isn’t much of a thing here I’m afraid, aside from some witches who celebrate samhain and the uprising of general pop culture there aren’t many people who really celebrate Halloween like in the US. So no, I don’t expect any trick or treaters tonight (also because COVID has us on a 8 pm curfew).
I think the Netherlands celebrates Saint Martin far more which Wikipedia explains pretty well as: Saint Martin's day, also known as the Funeral of Saint Martin, Martinstag or Martinmas, as well as Old Halloween and Old Hallowmas Eve is the Funeral day of Saint Martin of Tours (else Martin le Miséricordieux) and is celebrated on 11 November each year.
The day is celebrated on the evening of 11 November (the day Saint Martin was buried) in the Netherlands, where he is known as Sint-Maarten. As soon it gets dark, children up to the age of 11 or 12 (primary school age) go door to door with hand-crafted lanterns made of hollowed-out sugar beet or, more recently, paper, singing songs such as "Sinte Sinte Maarten", to receive candy or fruit in return. In the past, poor people would visit farms on the 11th of November to get food for the winter. In the 1600s, the city of Amsterdam held boat races on the lake IJ. 400 to 500 light craft, both rowing boats and sailboats, took part with a vast crowd on the banks.
But other than that we don’t really have a holiday where children go door to door to ask for candy.
It’s getting more popular now in recent years to do so on Halloween, as well as Halloween parties, but it’s not very widespread.
XD
Yeah I was really excited to write some fanfic for Love and Monsters and then today I started doubting that. And now I’m leaning towards writing more Petopher fic where Chris gets turned?
I blame @for-the-love-of-wolves for that one because I read their fic and now I’m like: that’s a good idea. I want to write that too. And now I can’t shake it.
I should really finish things but urgh... part of me just wants to write more teen wolf fanfic.
I’m really curious about your wip though, I hope that when you’re ready to share it, I get to read it too. ^^
Honestly, Netflix needs to make this idea happen. I insists. I wonder if my friend who works their customer service can pitch ideas but I don’t have much hope for that. Would be pretty awesome though to see this come alive because it’s GOOD! Holy moly I want that to happen now XD. Brittain’s ass is it, UK Vs US ass fight!
Wait is that too gay?
Ah who cares XD
I’m still snivelling with a cold but it’s only stuff coming out of my nose, for the most part, I’m doing pretty good and can focus somewhat on things again. And no real pain aside from the general ones.
So I’m gonna wish you Happy Halloween, have a good night and lots of socially distanced hugs from me and Mo.

your name: real name is Liv, username is a reference to a hard but dear to my heart lesson learned wayyy back in high school.
fandoms you write for: Right now Critical Role, i’ll probably revisit She-Ra, finishing up a Power Rangers thingy, I love mashing up Pacific Rim with any and every new fandom I dive into, and also I’ve always got His Dark Materials daemon headcanons for every single fandom I’m in, so. Ask me about those if you want to really get me going.
where you post: AO3! nowweareunstoppable - same username!
most popular one shot: def my ‘tooth for a tooth’ catradora smut fic. I think I timed that one perfectly with the rise of the fandom and y’all really liked the smut hahaha.
most popular multi chapter story: woahhhh, huge throwback to my unfinished Korrasami modern AU ‘ All of This is Naga's Fault.’ I had a great ending planned for that that I’ve almost completely forgotten all of the intertwining plot threads to! I never even got to write the scene that inspired the whole deal. Damn. I’ll have to go back to that some day
favorite story you’ve written: ah man, maybe my little Pidge Voltron oneshot (Strength of the Small) but probably my obscure as fuck Trimberly Pacific Rim AU. I’ve just gotten to do so much with the Drift and push myself writing scenes with very little solid ground to stand on in terms of imagery - that one has really exercised my creative lil brain cells.
story you were nervous to post: mmm probably the Critical Role Beauyasha explicit fics. I was like *kicks down the door to a brand new fandom * here I am nerds, have some really really descriptive sex
how do you choose titles: kinda tricky, sometimes snippets of famous quotes, other times a bit of dialogue (I write entire fics based purely around a single line of dialogue, that’s seriously how I start and get inspired for all of my fics), but ALWAYS with that sweet sweet all lowercase aesthetic. I’m a slut for that 100% of the time
do you outline: in my head a bit, and moreso with the Trimberly pacific rim AU than any other fic just because that one has actual plot, like wtf is that who knows, but especially with smut fics I just let the characters run wild. I don’t plan any of that.
how many of your stories are complete? i should never be allowed to write multi chap fics; it’s shameful. Trimberly is def going to be finished soon, the others --- no promises.
how many of your stories are in progress?  Just the Trimberly one, the other unfinished multi-chaps will unfortunately stay in retirement unless I get some divine inspiration (and maybe once i graduate, i have zero time right now)
coming soon: part three of the Beauyasha Photography AU, featuring Jester as well this time ;) (you can than @chaoticspaces for commissioning that)
do you accept prompts? sure thing chicken wing. will i actually write them? who knows. I do need to practice writing SHORTER pieces so maybe once i’m done with the Photo AU update and finish Trimberly I can try and burn through some shorter prompts
upcoming story you’re most excited to write? honestly I have a Critical Role kidfic I’ve been dying to write (Beau gets hit by a de-aging spell/curse) which is wild because that’s usually not my wheelhouse, but... can you imagine... how cute it would be.
tagging: anyone who reads this and likes to write - tell the world
(seriously talk to me about HDM, I’ve been obsessed since I was a lil child and it has not faded)

Get To Know Your Writer!
1) Describe your comfort zone — a typical you-fic. TBH I say I like to write angst but lately I’m not feeling so confident in it;;; I would say something that’s a light romance with just a sprinkle of angst.
2) Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to? SO MANY :((( Military!AU, Angel/Demon!AU, Hanahaki Disease!AU, Gumiho!AU, Harry Potter!AU, High School/College!AU :(((
3) Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole? sndksndksn probably ABO/Wolf!AU;; I don’t really read that trope and I don’t think I can write it well haha
4) How many fic ideas are you nurturing rn? Care to share one of them?
Oh my God, I’m not joking when I say 50+ I have a whole google spreadsheet to keep track of them all;; one of them is a Xingdae baking club!AU that I’ve been dying to write for the past two years.
5) Share one of your strengths. Determination to finish them all!!
6) Share one of your weaknesses. Speed with writing them ;^; I write as fast as a sloth wanting to sleep!! Also description skdnfskdnf my stories are all dialogue and that’s bad
7) Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it. It was 3 in the morning. It was dark outside, and the lights were dimmed down. Chanyeol held Baekhyun’s hand and sat beside his bed. He laid his head next to Baekhyun’s and could hear his labored breathing. With each breath, Chanyeol felt his heart crumbling; Baekhyun was still battling his hardest, but he didn’t have much strength or time to fight any longer.
Chanyeol just wanted Baekhyun to rest.
In 10 minutes, he was stroking Baekhyun’s hair and looking lovingly at him. Even if Baekhyun’s hair wasn’t as healthy, or his face was too sharp and bony from all the weight he had lost, he thought Baekhyun was still beautiful. He admired how strong he was, no matter how scared he was. If Chanyeol was terrified, he couldn’t imagine how Baekhyun felt through this whole ordeal.
ALSDFJLAKDJ i’m proud of this because it doesn’t even sound like I’m the one who wrote it. It actually made me cry when I read it LMAO I think it’s something that has the capability of tapping into the readers’ emotions and I think I’ll never be able to write something like this again
8) Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.  Yifan: Kim Jongdae. Jongdae: Huh? What? Yifan: /hands over Shakespeare’s Macbeth/ Here. Proofread this for me! Jongdae: What.  Yifan: I said proofread it!  Jongdae: Yifan... it’s been proofread and published already... Yifan: Then why can’t I understand a single word that’s being said?! It’s complete gibberish!
tbh Yifan in The Little Wingman is probably my favorite character to have ever written in terms of comedic relief skndfksndf there were scenes with him that were funnier than this but this is the longest dialogue I think
9) Which fic has been the hardest to write? 256 Feet or Magnolia ://
10) Which fic has been the easiest to write?  The Land of Idea or The Little Wingman!!
11) Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby? :/// good question,,, i invest way too much time for it to be a fun hobby, but I’m not good enough for it to be a passion.
12) Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more? Episode?? Of feelings or TV?? 😅😅😅
13) What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across? Take a break when you need it, even if it lasts a few days.
14) What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across? UHHHH I don’t really talk to enough people to get advice :// so I haven’t really heard any bad pieces of advice yet
15) If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose? Damn, good question?! Probably Knocked Out!
16) If you could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?  Chansoo!! KDNSFKSDN I’M JOKING I’m probably going to choose Xingdae over Kaisoo :c I think I’m more comfortable writing them!!
17) Do you finish your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order? KSNDFKSDNF I write so out of order, that’s probably why my transitions are shit and it feels choppy
18) Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines? I can’t do anything without outlines tbh I have a whole document of outline for each and every single fic
19) Stephen King once said that his muse is a man who lives in the basement. Do you have a muse? No, I don’t think so :/
20) Describe your perfect writing conditions. The people who know me might think it’s on my bed, but it’s not ksdnfksnd probably my high school library’s private computer room (which I don’t have access to anymore) :c it’s because I’m sitting upright in a comfortable space with a computer that isn’t my own (for some odd reason skdnfnsd)
21) How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting? I usually revise while I’m writing, so countless times,,,,
22) Choose a passage from one of your earlier fics and edit into your current writing style.  Shameful, but I don’t think my writing style has changed skdnfsdnk
23) If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why? Knocked Out bc that shit it wack af
24) Have you ever deleted one of your published fics? I’ve taken them down for a while, but they’re up again.
25) What do you look for in a beta?  I really want a beta who only reads my stories (a beta who doesn’t take on multiple writers all at once) and focuses their attention on me and bugs me to write and is a really close friend but skdnfksdnf if it’s a temporary beta, then mostly someone with a sharp eye for grammar and plot holes
26) Do you beta yourself? If so, what kind of beta are you?  A personal one skjfksjdf I personally beta for 2, maybe now 3, people. My main writer likes me to bug her especially when a deadline is approaching, but I give space to my other writer.
27) How do you feel about collaborations?  Something I would like to try one day!! But not to confident about it rn
28) Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.  OK LISTEN,,,, adorableprince, kei17, and naomi24 — adorableprince is my favorite kaisoo writer, kei17 is my favorite chanbaek writer, and naomi24 is my favorite xingdae writer even though she is very flexible with ships. They all know how to hit the feels the right way, but they’ve also made me laugh a lot!
29) If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?  omg there was this Kaisoo drabble called Protector where Kyungsoo was left in the forest as a baby and the Kai was a gumiho who saved Kyungsoo and marks him with a brand and returns him to the village skndksnd
30) Do you accept prompts? Nope! I have too many ideas of my own I need to belt out
31) Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant? Nah, not strict at all.
32) How do you feel about smut? I read it, but I probably will never ever write it!!
33) How do you feel about crack? I LOVE CRACK, but I don’t have the confidence to write it.
34) What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con? It’s a very sensitive topic to many people, but tbh not to me. I can read it and be completely fine, though I do think it should only be written if it’s use to facilitate the plot, a character’s characterization, or backstory.
35) Would you ever kill off a canon character? Uhhhhhhh idk what canon character means, but I’ve killed off my main characters multiple times and will continue to do so skndfksdnf
36) Which is your favorite site to post fic? I’m most comfortable with AFF but the feedback I get is (wornout kaomoji)
37) Talk about your current wips.  AHHHHHH ok so I’m writing 3 for Golden EXO fest — crown prince/arranged marriage!AU, castle in the sky!AU, and time travel!AU!! I’m finishing up a sci-fi self-prompt for EXOgeddon, and a gift fic for a friend whose zombie!AU prompt in EXOgeddon didn’t get claimed.
38) Talk about a review that made your day. All comments make my day!! One super recent one was a comment left by my EXO Free Love AU Fest fic’s prompter!!
39) Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them? I don’t think I’ve ever considered any of them rude, because I’m grateful for any and all comments I get!
40) Write an alternative ending to --- (or just the summary of one). AHHH in my author’s note for A Heart of Gold — an alternate ending would have gone like this: Jongdae goes into the forest and finds the house, but Yixing is nowhere to be seen. Jongdae explores the cabin a little and concludes he could go through the hospital’s records. He rushes to the hospital and asks the head of the hospital if he can identify the result of Yixing’s surgery. Jongdae is left devastated when he’s told that Yixing didn’t make it.
