What Is Immersive Learning And How Does It Work?
Immersive Learning is an innovative approach to education that involves actively engaging students in their learning process. It utilizes technology, interactive activities, and real-world scenarios to create an engaging learning environment. Immersive Learning is different from traditional learning methods, as it allows students to explore and interact with the material in a hands-on way. This type of learning has been found to increase student engagement and retention of the material.
Immersive Learning promotes creativity and critical thinking. By allowing students to explore and interact with the material, they are encouraged to think outside the box and develop their own solutions to problems. This type of learning also encourages students to take risks and be more comfortable with failure.

Immersive Learning also allows students to develop skills in a more natural setting. By working on projects in a realistic environment, students can hone their skills and gain practical experience. This type of learning also helps to foster collaboration, as students are encouraged to work together to complete projects.
Immersive Learning also has the benefit of being more engaging to students. By using technology, interactive activities, and real-world scenarios, students are more likely to be interested in the material. This increases their motivation to learn and improves their overall learning experience.
Overall, Immersive Learning is an innovative approach to education that has many benefits. It encourages creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, while also providing students with a more engaging learning experience. By utilizing this type of learning, students can gain a better understanding of the material and develop their skills in a realistic setting.

brb im gonna go find a place to Scream
#im playing omori#let's just say that final fight with omori did not do good things to my mental state#idk by that point the emotional experience was really weird cuz like#i the player (desperately) want sunny to have nice things#but also like if i were sunny i would not fucking be able to forgive myself and like#what's that orv quote. the effects of the 4th wall are reduced due to excessive immersion. yeah that was me at that point#i guess lesson learned is if you're playing omori and you start using 'i' and 'sunny' interchangeably you're in for a Bad Time#like there were MANY points in the omori fight when i was like 'this man is making some good points' and he's#trying to convince sunny to kill himself so yknow. having a GREAT time with that one#also when the 'do you want to continue yes no' screen came up i sent it to my friend like haha what if i chose no#cuz i THOUGHT it was just gonna be like. when you die in a fight you either retry or load a save yeah i thought it was just gonna be like#a mechanical thing#then she said are you sure bc that's gonna have Consequences#and i'd already chosen yes bc. again. i want sunny to have nice things. also i GENUINELY meant that as a joke#so i was like. hold on what the FUCK is that supposed to mean#so. yayyyy#omori spoilers

How to Implement Competency-Based Learning in Your Classroom
As a result of Entab's experiential learning assets, students and schools can implement CBL more effectively. Students can use the resources to gain hands-on experience and develop practical skills. Schools can use the resources to design robust curricula for their students. It allows for more effective and engaging learning experiences. The experiential learning assets also facilitate collaboration and communication among students, teachers, and parents, creating a deeper understanding of the material and leading to improved outcomes. This creates an environment where students feel supported and motivated to learn, leading to greater success.

Testing if listening-only immersion of chinese can result in a decent amount of new vocabulary learned, grammar understood better, and improved listening skills (this part I'm pretty sure will improve), if you already know ~8000+ words and can read at a lower intermediate level (B1). Words heard will be occassionally looked up (once every five minutes, or less often). Expectation: listening-only immersion in materials you could read extensively and understand the main idea of, will result in vocabulary continuing to increase, grammar understood faster, improved listening skills. (I am very much hoping for success with this. I don't see why it wouldn't work).
Testing if listening-only immersion of japanese can result in learning a decent amount of new vocabulary, and an improvement in grammar understanding, and improved listening skills*, if you know 1000-2000 words in a language and it is a language with few cognates to one you already know. Expectation: this may result in some improvements in vocabulary but it will be slower than if audio-visual immersion was done, and if it does not work it may be because not enough common words are already known. I think it's possible, if the learner content I am listening to is the right level for me, I will improve at a normal speed - the same as if I used audio-visual immersion materials (which would be awesome, because audio only materials are easier to fit into my daily schedule).
#rant#progress#chinese progress#japanese progress#listening progress#comprehensible input method#i see a lot of people in Dreaming Spanish do fine switching to mostly or only audio-only immersion once they're level 5#at 600 hours and 5000 words known.#and at 150 to 300 hours if they use easy beginner learner made podcasts (spanish has cognates to english#so i think my chinese knowledge (8000+ words) is enough to switch to learning from audio-only resources if i wanted to#i will say while chinese doesn't have the cognate benefit it DOES have the benefit that once you know a lot of hanzi then new words become#easier to guess.#and with japanese i know around 1000 words WELL by sound and then i know around 4000 words total from sounds OR kanji#i am hoping that is enough words to use learner podcasts/stuff for beginners thats audio only (which for spanish learners requires knowing#1500 words to 3000 words)#experiment

and with that i do believe that my run with interstellar in imax has come to an end.

#check out the stats: 4 shows in 7 days. two shows within less than 24 hours of each other#one show that made me drive three hours through the city I hate to get to the imax#tbf I didn’t know that it was coming to my town because the original weekend it was not here#so I had to make the drive. then! I found out my local imax was going to show it so I went three more times lol#truthfully I feel good about it. I could go again tomorrow night at 10pm but I think while I was watching it today#idk something just came over me and I thought ya know what? this is it. this is my last time seeing it in imax#I came to peace with it and im okay with it. it was beautiful to witness. it really helped when i had contacts in instead of glasses#I think we worked through a lot of feelings while watching these four shows. I think we learned a lot about myself too#definitely found some answers we were looking for. definitely opened up some other wounds too but that’s okay#I got to enjoy movies again and really be immersed in cinema so that was a great experience#plus all of this with a movie I already loved so now! it’s boosted my life exponentially#idk how to make an interstellar url which is why we went with rust but like. dammit I owe you my life interstellar#god what a beautiful film. I’ve seen so many bad takes about it too and it’s not like im blinded by my love for it#that I think the takes are bad. no it’s genuinely shit like ‘oh what do you mean they couldn’t figure out how to grow more than just corn?’#like homie you obviously were not paying attention! the earth is dying! (real) and corn is quite literally the only thing left!!!#they have to leave if humanity is going to survive!!!!#anyway. like I said. beautiful film really enjoyed this past week of getting to see AND experience it.#watching it on blu ray now will never be the same#thank you everyone who followed along on this journey and thank you mr McConaughey for giving me your accent for the week#okay last two things: a) im gonna go back and tag all my stuff so I can look back on this time with joy and whimsy#second: here’s my definitive ranking of my viewings of the movie:#first had to be the first time i saw it. nothing is topping that absolutely nothing. experiencing that for the first time and road tripping#like come on that’s dedication to the art right there. second would be today. feeling at peace knowing it was going to be my last show#and really getting to soak it all in. absolutely. plus I had contacts in so I could see everything lol.#third was yesterday bc yeah I finally got to see everything (again. finally had contacts in) but the audience did make it a little tough#usually im game for a big movie with an audience but there were too many distractions really pulling me out of the experience#last was probably Friday. even though I was jazzed to see it again bc that was the first show in my town there was a kid vaping two seats#away from me and that gave me a headache. plus I had glasses on so again. can’t see part of it bc the frames of said glasses.#thank you to everyone who followed along on this journey! apparently there is a 30 tag limit so last tag:#shelby watches interstellar

although. that said. a little while ago i finally got curious enough to read some d*rcy/loki fanfic, and i truly couldn't buy it most of the time. that character combo DID feel kind of inherently OOC. but maybe i just needed a slower burn to be convinced, idk
#nothing against d*rcy to be clear#she's just SUCH an everywoman and he is SUCH a snob#hard to believe that he would find her particularly interesting. also hard to believe that she wouldn't have the self-preservation to#- as she would put it -#nope the fuck out of there#also people like to self-insert with d*rcy and like. in the everywoman sense i don't really mind that#but i don't enjoy when characters are just mouthpieces for the writer's views on canon lol. immersion-breaking!#ALSO i feel like half the appeal of d*rcy should BE her everywomanness but like. in the sense of being totally unfamiliar with asgard?#she experiences almost the entire plot second-hand. she doesn't even know what loki looks like!!!#there's a lot of storytelling potential in choosing her as your POV bc she is kind of inherently an outsider POV#and she also seems like she would be pretty sceptical and talk shit about everything she learns as she learns it#almost d*niel m*lloy-esque lol#but a lot of people skip over that side of things entirely to just make her the hypercompetent voice of reason who can fix him :/#also i feel like this pairing could really lend itself to dark humour#but people generally seem to go for a light fluffy/cracky vibe. alas
