I have a lot of feelings about the new dune movies decision to leave out the Bene Gesserit idea of there being "true humans" for the most part, but I did really love it being brought back for the end of the second movie - the Harkonnens are almost always referred to as "animals" by the Atreides (and I think the other way around too?). I think its a really amazing demonstration of how Paul is becoming more fascist in his ideals, but also how the Houses are inherently fascist in a way, which kinda comes back to the theme of no good colonizers

Venice Carnival, Italy: The Carnival of Venice is an annual festival held in Venice, Italy, famous throughout the world for its elaborate costumes and masks. The Carnival ends on Shrove Tuesday, which is the day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. According to legend, the Carnival of Venice began after the military victory of the Venetian Republic over the patriarch of Aquileia, Ulrich II, in the year 1162. In honour of this, the people started to dance and gather in St Mark's Square. It lasts for 10 days, usually starting at the end of January or beginning of February. Masks have always been an important feature of the Venetian Carnival. Wikipedia

“Fun” fact I was at a funeral of a distant relative in a church and the bells started playing when they took the coffin out which is quite normal, so nobody paid it any mind, and then the priest came out looking shooketh and announced that the bells were playing cause the Pope just died. I’m sorry but that was one of the funniest thing that ever happened.
#personal#pope francis#conclave#conclave 2025 will be fun#it is always quite fun in if you live in Italy but this year I feel it’ll be funnier#mine

More art inspired by my recent trip to Europe. This one is based on the drowned church tower I saw in Italy. The village of Curon was flooded to create a hydroelectric plant in the 1950's and this tower is all that remains.
Closeup of the cats~

Here's a sneak peek of how I painted this. The full hours long video process will be DMed on my Patreon on Sept 5
The photo I took, it was raining so I did it really quick, you can even see my finger in the corner trying to cover the camera lol

If I traveled to Italy and entered a genuine pizzeria, sat myself down, unzipped my purse and pulled out a bottle of Hidden Valley ranch, do you suppose the Italians would swarm for the kill immediately or would they outsource it to the Italian mafia
#im american so i will never have the money to travel to italy#but yes i would bring a little packet of ranch for pizza#:)
