OKAY, so I promised I’d post about when I turned the StC version of Metal Knuckles into an OC, but I actually didn’t have that many pictures of him. At least not ones I’d drawn myself. And while I keep all the art my friends drew for me in a treasured folder, I’m not gonna post those without their permission

So anyway, I present to you the OC-ification of the Metal Knuckles from Sonic the Comic:

If nothing else, you get to enjoy another round of me not knowing what copyrights were and just writing whatever I wanted on the image. I certainly did not, as a teenager, go get a human version of a Sonic the Hedgehog character designed by another person registered as belonging to me lol Anyway, I called him F.M.K. which was short for Fleetway Metal Knuckles, because back then all the American fans referred to StC as Fleetway, based on the publisher being Egmont-Fleetway. Nowadays people just kind of call Super Sonic that, I guess? But I had some friends who were huge fans of Metal Sonic, Metal Knuckles, etc., and they were so cool and I really wanted to fit in with them, so I made FMK into my OC to kind of do that? I also made a Metal Rouge, as you can see (though I'm pretty sure my friend designed her - no way I came up with something that awesome-looking on my own), and the orange bird character is another one of my old OCs. There were even human versions! Not android versions, but fleshy human versions. The human FMK was designed by my friend and that’s why that one looks cooler

I don’t have too much to say here, really. These are old enough that they’ve cycled past cringe and come back to fond nostalgia for days gone by and the friends I had online back then that I’ve lost contact with over the years. Hope they’re still out there doing well. Wonder if they still love Metal Knuckles now. I hope so

Something mostly (?) unrelated to rancid fandom behavior that’s been stuck in my brain a bit:

I wholeheartedly agree that it’s important for fiction to show men/masc characters in emotionally vulnerable and supportive relationships with one another, while keeping it platonic. Absolutely. I do sometimes feel that this stance is a kissing cousin of the goofy rallying cry of “let men be just friends,” that gains traction anytime gay relationships are contemplated in media , albeit to a lesser degree. I also think that this sudden platonic representation is sometimes undertaken in a disingenuous way that allows people involved in the direction of a narrative (show runners, networks, etc) to hand wave away established romantic subtext and tropes being applied between two male characters. It just smacks of not understanding the difference between platonic and romantic love when you take the “default” pairings/dynamics away, and I think it’s a disservice to both instances. Again, this isn’t always the case, but I’ve seen it happen enough times for it to hit some stupid little nerve in me when I get a whiff of it.

I don’t know, maybe this should have stayed a draft but I kind of wanted to unburden my brain of it 🤷🏽‍♀️.

In The Undone and The Divine: yes. Everyone who's anyone knows that All For One has a lover, and that his lover looks very, very similar to him. There have been plenty of rumors and All For One does absolutely nothing to dissuade them. It's the world's worst kept secret because everyone knows but no one talks about it.

For Keep The Doors Open: only the OFA users know, and that's only because they all share emotions like a hivemind, with Yoichi at the top of the pack. They feel his emotions the second strongest (the bond between successor-successee is the only thing that supercedes him as the Origin) out of all of them, and he feels all of their emotions very acutely. The cocktail of emotion he feels every time he comes in contact with AFO isn't very subtle, especially when Yoichi sometimes come back with uh battle wounds. But other than that, no one else knows.... Though Aizawa suspects.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
