chords is underrated honestly like wtf. i feel like a 45 year old sending their first kid off to college while simultaneously feeling like like a child being told that everything will be ok and that someone will be waiting for me no matter how far I go

to think about what it must’ve been like for jamie once roy took over as manager for afc richmond... what that adjustment must’ve felt like after jamie had been roy’s sole focus of undivided attention morning and night off the pitch, helping him be the best he could be for months. he’s well aware that this current roy has more responsibilities, more planning to uphold the team, better things to do and people to see. that they couldn’t possibly keep the same comfortable habitual routine. and jamie would never ask too much of him. because he would take anything of roy he could get, and keep it with reverence. was jamie left wondering, longing, hoping, that there would still be any roy kent left for him? secretly praying that this wouldn’t finally put an end to those indefinite rendezvouses, ones he could only obtain while sharing treasured moments on empty streets in the dark?
at first roy was always too afraid to cross the line of the professional into the personal; never spending quality time with jamie outside the excuse of training, not allowing him the simple label of a friend— or ‘best friend.’ trying to convince himself that jamie couldn’t possibly be so worthy of his pride despite his growth. yet now. now they’ve met each other’s families, had their first post-work drink, roy called what they had a friendship he demonstrated too painful to ever lose, they eat late night sacred kebabs together, they can attend team barbecues without being forced into sitting on their closely adjoining chairs. the lines have been blurred.
what did it all mean to both slowly and all at once lose those walls dividing them. what did that transition look like for roy to finally admit to himself that he desired jamie’s consistent unrestrained company. to allow himself such a committed ardent presence in his life even if it meant just sitting intimately in a room, with no expectations other than both being there. permission and patience and open smiles. nothing left between them besides the undeniable energy in the air they’d always felt, lingering and striking lightning at last.

Happy Whumpmas (•∇•。) 🎅🎄🎁🦌 🍪 🥛!!! You have just been snowballed by a secret whumper. Help to keep the snowball fight going by anonymously sending this to five other whumpers with a whump-related question of your choice: if you could uncancel one cancelled whumpy show which one would it be and why?
thank you for this great question 😭. there so many shows i would bring back but if i had to choose theee one
oh most definitely PRODIGAL SON! the show started off with whump in its pilot episode *chef’s kiss*. malcolm bright was the epitome of whump. the man had a murderous father who had a horrendous impact on young malcolm, suffered from fractured mental health, ravaged with painful trauma/memories, hand tremors, putting himself recklessly in danger almost each and every episode, the physical whump in every episode, the constant “im fine” when he is not at all, on the verge of nervous breakdown every single time, permanent night terrors… need i say more!?
and the audacity of them canceling the show with that cliffhanger… when malcolm just killed his dad and might’ve been on the run (?), the potential whump from that? yeah fuck fox for doing us dirty like that! i will NEVER forgive them.
I MISS MALCOLM AND DANI SO DAMN MUCH *CRIES IN AGONY*

do i sound delirious when i say I'm 100% convinced that if Stranger Things took place in very early 2000's, Will would be pining for Mike to these two Britney deep cuts?
BONUS
Will would definitely also listen to OVERPROTECTED. Do I even need to explain this one??

People should make more doomed by narratives siblings relationship.
Like with lovers you can just sever it and not have it related to you ever again but with siblings how could you?
You grow up with them you raise them or they raised you you both know how unforgiving the world is to both of you? You would die for them but will hate them for doing the same and yet none of you would regret it and both of you know it. They could be the person you loath the most and miss the most cause you still remember how they sneaked a candy into your hands. You can sever the tie but you can never look away at what you've lost, at whom you've lost because fate doesn't allow you to be together, eating dinners in quiet peace, if only there's another life, another time, where i can make you another plate of pancakes i would im sorry im sorry im sorry —

i know it’s like years old at this point but i love that one collab mumbo and grian did with tommyinnit bc it’s like the single most concentrated example i’ve seen of mumbo’s Chaos Nullification Powers
you get to see a bit of it on hermitcraft, mostly via his interactions with grian, but until seeing that collab it didn’t really hit me just how completely mumbo can no-sell other people’s attempts to control a situation. tommyinnit is possibly the single shoutiest, most chaotic minecraft youtuber out there, and in most videos i’ve seen he pretty much overwhelms everyone else and sets the tone for interactions because of this. but mumbo just. doesn’t let him. no matter how much tommy escalates in intensity, mumbo reacts with *exactly* the same energy he always does. grian largely comes across in the whole video as annoyed and reluctant to engage with the whole thing, but mumbo’s not even affected. he just rolls with anything he finds funny and basically ignores anything he disapproves of, only seeming more and more unflappable the harder anyone tries to get a rise out of him.
AND imo, this is the key to my favorite interpretation of him as a character
see, when the people around him are being more reasonable/calm, i think mumbo often comes across as anxious and a bit easily overwhelmed. the thing is, his nervous wet cat vibes do not scale. he has one setting. his responses to the last life ‘ah-ha!’ jokes and to hermitcraft 8 starting to crumble to pieces under a falling moon are almost identical.
mumbo jumbo is inexorably and eternally Just Some Guy, but that gets stranger and stranger the weirder his surroundings become. the giggly incredulousness that makes him an easy target for goofy puns looks Very different when it’s also his reaction to the impending end of the world.

“When I first heard it, from a dog trainer who knew her behavioral science, it was a stunning moment. I remember where I was standing, what block of Brooklyn’s streets. It was like holding a piece of polished obsidian in the hand, feeling its weight and irreducibility. And its fathomless blackness. Punishment is reinforcing to the punisher. Of course. It fit the science, and it also fit the hidden memories stored in a deeply buried, rusty lockbox inside me. The people who walked down the street arbitrarily compressing their dogs’ tracheas, to which the poor beasts could only submit in uncomprehending misery; the parents who slapped their crying toddlers for the crime of being tired or hungry: These were not aberrantly malevolent villains. They were not doing what they did because they thought it was right, or even because it worked very well. They were simply caught in the same feedback loop in which all behavior is made. Their spasms of delivering small torments relieved their frustration and gave the impression of momentum toward a solution. Most potently, it immediately stopped the behavior. No matter that the effect probably won’t last: the reinforcer—the silence or the cessation of the annoyance—was exquisitely timed. Now. Boy does that feel good.”
