First off, great questions!

I'm really happy you asked this. Besides it being a gross misuse of their power, you absolutely can. There's beneficial relics that offer such alternatives to their use.

2) The office of Archpriestess theoretically has more power than any of our earth's popes at any time in history. The reason being that a large majority of the continent is unified, shares similar societal customs and the like, and allows for the church to spread unopposed by the empire itself as it provides numerous benefits to the citizenry and local governments. This means that the Archpriestess has significant sway over the continent's populace, and has authority to use the Templars, who also have a sizable contingent of warriors using Blessings. HOWEVER, that power and influence has never been used, only threatened with.

3) They'll just be thought to be bastards, untrue successors to their ancestors.

4) High Combat MC will get the bullshit rule of cool stuff while mid and low Combat MCs have to face the realistic warfare scenes and struggle lol.

5) No, im focused more on the Chinese Dynasties of Han to Song, with all inbetween. The qipao is Qing Dynasty.

Okay the Ace A.ttorney universe is PERFECT for "well I should be on leave, but I can't actually take any time off." Like... we've seen their legal system this is not a place that cares about their citizens.

That being said, if Edgeworth was the one pregnant I could totally see him going over seas to get natal care. (Perhaps vanishing for a bit to do so... that seems in line-)

Wright on the other hand? HA- if he could find work he'd take it up until the last second. It's just Braxton Hicks contractions, he can stand in a courth room for a few hours. He needs the work, he needs the money. He'd try and take a case hours after HAVING a kid if no one stopped him, regardless of paternal guilt. He'd try to finish a case if he knew he was about to LITERALLY HAVE HIS BABY.

With how often Edgeworth just randomly dissapears to another continent, I'm more than a little obsessed with the idea of Edgeworth coming back for a big case after being gone for MONTHS (ala the death scare between the first few games for some extra omph) and being put against an overdue and definitely should be resting Wright. Edgeworth over the course of the case also manages to put the pieces together about Wright's pregnancy and at a certain point just asking Wright "how... was I never made aware of any of this?" And Wright responding with "I... well I thought you were gone..."

On a lighter hearted note: considering the entire 2 braincells the entire cast shares, a pregnancy could be hidden SO easily. Clearly its just a little weight gain, no baby here no way haha. Suit shrunk in the wash- bad indegestion- idk some mystery illness that TOTALLY isn't pregnancy.

Season 1 starts with that Classic Bionicle Beginning of the toa mata crashlanding on the archipelago of Okoto each on a different island not knowing what the Fuck to do and being welcomed in the villages. like in g2 theyre first tasked with finding some golden relics but instead of being accompanied by the protectors/village elders they go with the local Weird Kids (the chronicler's company) who were the first people they actually met; getting the things lets them reach the island of the mask makers and meet Ekimu (and takua!!!! his apprentice!!!!!!!) and theyre like "so what do we do with these btw" and ekimu looks at the pieces and goes. FUCK

TURNS OUT THOSE RELICS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE GOLDEN MASKS BUT SOME MF JUST BROKE THEM INTO PIECES and wouldnt you fucking believe it it was the Children Of Makuta, the spirit of death and animals and darkness, who live each on one of the islands except spiriah the baby of the family who roams around bothering literally everybody and ofc dont want the toa to reawaken the Great Spirit whom their parent put to sleep, AND SO BEGINS THE FETCH QUEST OF THE OTHER FIVE PIECES OF EACH MASK WHILE FIGHTING OFF THESE FREAKS OF NATURE WHO ARE TRYING TO EAT THEM AND BUILDING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THEMSELVES & EKIMU & TAKUA N HIS POSSE & THE VILLAGERS AND SLOWLY BECOMING A PROPER TEAM N FAMILY which is why they need to be many episodes. i will fucking recreate almost verbatim the tale of the mask kopaka-pohatu story because its already perfect and you will Fucking See It if i have to Kill For It

closes off with a cliffhanger after getting all the masks: during an ambush by Mutran Gali gets dragged off into the sea between the islands to get crushed by the water pressure but whats this??, the pressure suddenly lifts enough to let her breathe as she loses consciousness while strange silhouettes drive off the child of Makuta and catch her in his stead, sinking deeper...

S2 starts off by quickly catching up to the rest of the toa who are SHITTING THEIR FUCKING SELVES ABOUT THEIR WATER-BREATHING SISTER APPARENTLY DROWNING BEFORE THEM

tahu and pohatu decide to look for her in a ball of tempered glass while kopaka, onua and lewa hurry back to ekimu to tell him what happened. back to gali, she awakens to a bunch of... toa???? who know her and her brothers???? personally, apparently????? three of them are like super mad at them for leaving them during their time of need??????? what the FUCK are you people talking about. who are u. how are you breathing under water. why is tHERE A WHOLE FUCKING CITY UNDER THE WATER-

while theyre handling THAT they also fill in the mahri on whats been going on and the mahri go oh shit, the great spirit is in a coma and the children of makuta are against you??? bro those guys are super powerful theyve got Crabs, you cant fight em alone. but also if we try to leave the sea the water pressure Will Fucking Destroy Us, so they figure out a way to get out of there and back up and jaller is super anxious bc his mom might be there but like... based on what they said... she might be evil... he doesnt wanna fight her... shes the only family he still has...

S3 AND WE GO BACK TO SEE WHAT KOPAKA ONUA AND LEWA ARE DOING, and theyre off searching the more ruined parts of the city of the mask makers on takua's suggestion - these are the parts of the city that werent very lucky during the cataclysm and are now sacred ground prowled by Krika, daughter of Makuta

at last they find a strange underground chamber with six breathing statues, which, of course, freaky; they manage to thaw one and out tumbles a toa (?) who immediately recognizes onua and starts talking to him excitedly (??) saying that its so good to see him in person for the first time (???) and asking him about the continent (????) and being genuinely distraught that they dont know who he is. same reactions from the other five toa that also get thawed out. ok something is Clearly Amiss pls explain

its time for LOMN...... 2!!!!!! where we learn from vakama abt how Lhikan, who previously filled in ekimu's position, finds out theres Some Shit going down with the great spirit and makuta and tries to call the mata, who however get stuck due to the aformentioned Some Shit. as such she picks out six lads in the city of the mask makers and bestows masks upon them to make them become toa, but on their way to handle the current problem they get werebeast'd and Krika goes oh? free kids? free kids for me? and Lhikan goes NO but its too late. they already have joint custody of the metru. and might be blossoming a lesbian romance but unfortunately due to lhikan being lhikan i have to kill her to protect vakama, leaving krika with him AND his little brother jaller who will inherit lhikan's mask. the metru figure out the way to get the mata in this case is to attempt to contact them themselves, which they manage to do by entering a trance that however slowly turns them into statues: in this trance they are able to speak and train the mata, who also promise to free them once the whole situation is handled

CONSIDERING THE CATACLYSM HAPPENED AND THEY GOT SHOT BACK IN THE SKY AND GOT AMNESIA YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THAT PROMISE KIND OF WENT TO SHIT

anyways thats A Lot as you can imagine and the time to process it is Not Much bc the other three mata and the mahri are here and (after a round of MASSIVE HUGS for the metru and mahri reuniting and also the metru and Krika) theyve got a plan to beat the shit out of makuta

problem: the children of makuta have realized this is happening and decided to break out The Crabs to beat the shit out of THEM

mahri, metru and krika (and the chronicler's company much to everybody else's heart attacks) hold them off while the mata manage to fight against makuta after being briefly overwhelmed, uniting their powers to uh. Kill Him. which! IS NOT ACTUALLY GOOD. YOU KNOW. BALANCE AND ALL THAT. makuta is saved in the end by The Great Fucking Spirit who wakes up just in time to stop the mata before they murder his brother

the mata awaken before the Great Spirit and after a moment of "where are we? who are you? why didn't you let us kill makuta?" and getting their answers, they realize OH FUCK ARE YOU GOING TO PUT US IN THE STARS AGAIN? AND GIVE US AMNESIA? FUCK YOU YOURE NOT TAKING OUR FRIENDS AND SIBLINGS FROM US

and tahu wakes up to ekimu working at the forge and none of his siblings around and he Shits His Pants, but ekimu quickly reassures him that everythings good and its been like, maybe a day or two since they managed to reawaken the Great Spirit. his siblings woke up before him and are probably down at the beach, and Makuta got driven off, all of his children following suit to take care of him, krika included. the mahri and the metru are catching up on the mata's tales from the chronicler's company. things are fine. they wont be like this forever, ekimu tells tahu, but they dont have to live in fear every second of their lives. rest a while. go see your siblings.

and it ends with the mata having a very sweet nap pile on the beach because they FUCKING deserve it after TWO whole generations ending with them not getting to just fucking sleep after EVERYTHING THEY GO THROUGH EVERY TIME

Anw, but no, I hc hws Indonesia as neither of any ethnic group here. Not even Javanese, which is our biggest ethnic group. Our ideology is ‘the unification of all ppl in Indonesian islands under one group, the Indonesian ppl’ and ‘Indonesian’ is nationality and not an ethnic group, therefore he is outside the groups but at the same time the whole thing.

The seas that connect the islands where everyone resides.

Indonesia was born in the Indonesian seas. The seas are where he reigns and where he creates his glories. The seas our ppl revere and glorify, where we also originated from (the ocean ppl were our ancestors).

Credit where credit is due, @lingkaranitubumi has a similar hc that inspired me for this and I’m shamelessly taking it. Because Indonesia reigns in the sea, he also represents the sea trades and sea paths, the backbone of Indonesian civilization.

This part, specifically banda sea which is the deepest part of our seas. Also lots scary stories there, so it fits him v well.

Why this region specifically? That’s bc this is the part that has always been ocean in Indonesian archipelago. A part of us was attached to mainland Asia and another was to Australia in the long past, so like this:

As it stands, us Indonesians are always taught this line: our country, straddled between two oceans (Indian and Pacific), and between two continents (Asia and Australia). That is, Nusantara (lit: islands inbetween, Malay/Austronesian root)

Honestly? No, I don't, because I don't think a comprehensive historical analysis of any bite sport exists in any form of published format. You have to understand a lot of this is solely reliant on in-person learning and word-of-mouth and oral history, so what written sources we do have you will need to do a lot of reading inbetween the lines and knowing your human history.

Similarly you're not going to find any specific source that says "South American dobermans were specifically Nazi dogs" but if you know your human history then you'd also know that Nazis fleeing punishment for their war crimes went into hiding in South America and many took their dogs and other sources of German pride with them, and if you know your doberman lines you also would know that South America is one of the only continents that still uses dobermans in their police and military widespread to this day because the dogs are known to be incredibly sharp, defensive, and unpredictable, much like the original temperament of the breed.

WE HAVE A 6 SMP MEGAVERSE

Okay this is a long one so stay with me here. In Sausages newest video he got flash backs to S1 with Pearl comferming she is like a the Goddess of Gods in S2. This conects S1 and S2. Oli we know came from Afterlife as his jourmey is explained in his first Empires video. This is how we get a 3 way megaverse. Now this is where it gets complicated. Scott and Jimmy and only them have memories from 3rd life as tgey have the pufferish of peace and the date gave riddled in clues to their shared past. All of the life series members have memories from 3rd life and last life in double life - most noticably the reverence to Jimmy being the first one out each time. This then conects all 6 (or 5 and 2 seasons of Empires) smp together.

TIMELINE: My thoughts on the time line are we start in 3rd life. Everyone dies as normal and memories are erased after death a common them the the megaverse. They then go to what im going to call the inbetween a space of blackness while you what for the next smp to start. Scott and Jimmy however go to thier afterlife together to wait until the next smp starts. This way they go through the normal memory erasment after 3rd life (which thier love for eachother transends) but have memories of their vally and life together still. Then Empires S1 starts contines as we see and when finished all the characters we see die go to the inbetween and all the ones we see run (or are later told die (Joel)) eventally make it there one way or another. Pearl however transends the inbetween somehow and raises to the position of goddess (not sure how this happends as i dont watch her videos). A few during the inbetween before afterlife play through last life and double life this is why people still remeber Flower Husbands and Joel and Lizzies marriage. Pearl here is given a choice and chooses to live these smp's before fully becoming a god. This memory wipe however gets rid of memory of past realtionships not quite the love with in but memories of being together.They then start afterlife memories erased this is as the name suggests an afterlife a different manifestation of the inbetween something to entertain the subjects hence why the rules dont work the same. Empires S2 then starts all memories are gone apart from Sausage. Sausage spends his inbetween with Pearl before moving on. She tries to erase Sausges memories so he can live like the rest but he magic isnt as strong as the worlds magic its self. So memories of Pearl and season 1 as Pearl helped Sausage regain those by seeing her can arise in certian stiuations. Oli is a different story because he arose from the inbetween to Pearls goddom he keeps his memories as he also left before Pearl could erase them. So Oli continues to have memories from afterlife. He also appears while everyone else is still in the inbetween. As he dosnt acctually ever go their he gets to Empires S2 world first.

My answer became too long so now it’s instead a post. But the correct answer is probably none of the above because full time job + grad school, but realistically I won't be able to stop myself. I just can't live in peace until it's made right. Somehow.

I loved this series. It’s visual poetry and it has terrific writing. But I feel like despite all the moulds it breaks it still fell victim to this belief that once you follow through on a romance and consummate it you’re entering soap territory and that the story it would have been will lose some of the impact because the stakes won’t feel as high and you’ve somehow sold out etc.

As much as I loved the series, it’s not perfect. I personally was caught completely off guard by the way the way it ended. It was poetry while it lasted, but the ending dealt me a proper blow. Honestly I'm quite over not giving happy endings to characters who truly deserve it. Plus their character arcs end up out of whack this way. So this story that is not likely intended to have a second season feels unresolved because it’s leaving Eli into a limbo and there is no closure of any kind.

I’ve always noticed how western media absolutely refuses to follow through on a romance if the would-be romantic lead is a Native American man. Not to mention that even stories that come close are few and far inbetween. So The English already goes beyond that but honestly the burn of the ending was exquisite and I can’t live like that. Emotionally my response to that is the same as Cornelia’s. To get off my horse and storm back and forth screaming to the open plains that I absolutely refuse to leave him.

And it just didn’t have to be this way. This is why I think The English could have broken (additional) ground in a number of ways that it didn’t utilize. I’m not American so I can’t comment on how this appears from the inside and if or how this discussion exists in communities in the US. But to me it’s just so funny that  a country, and if we also consider Canada a continent that somehow acknowledges and even prides itself as a true “melting pot” where this is the story of many if not most families... this is not a story we see told usually. Rather rarely, if at all.

Animals here are referred to by Earth animal names to provide the closet description for what the animal is. Think of it more like a translation than the actual words being used. Hocotation dogs, for example, resemble bulborbs far more than they do any Earth dog. But they're called "dogs'' to describe how they act and where they fit in the world. The same applies to whatever Earth plants Louie has mentioned - there are no avocados on Hocotate (at least, not before Koppaites were able to start exporting scaly custard), but there is an avocado-like plant. By and large, I will refer to animals and plants as being "[species]-like animal/plant".    

The Planet 

Hocotate as a planet is fairly small, and very cold. It lies just within the habitable zone of its red star, and has a thin atmosphere. Two moons orbit the planet, an icey blue moon and an iron-rich red moon (that is also still fairly icey despite appearances!) alongside some rings made mostly of dust and ice. Ships coming to and from the planet must take care not to fly through a ring, or they risk damage to their ship.

Hocotate's land masses are rather interesting as there are no true continents. Rather, a series of sub continents in the form of large islands are peppered across the planet's surface. Smaller islands are, of course, present as well. The largest sub continents take about 3-4 days of constant driving via car to cross, assuming traffic won't stop you (which it will). It generally takes only 2-3 days of constant motion by a modern boat to get between the various land masses.    

Being so cold, the polar circles on Hocotate are proportionally larger than those of Earth. The very ends of each pole are almost completely inhospitable due to low temperatures. The only lifeforms that live there don't quite count, as they're microscopic organisms at the bottom of the ocean eating funky chemical soup from underwater volcanoes that are considerably warmer than the ice caps far above them. 

The only real "temperate" zone of Hocotate is found at its equator. The hottest spots on Hocotate (aside from volcanic areas of course) don't get much hotter than 85°F/29.44°C during the summer. Winters are the mildest here, being about 40°F/4.44°C. 

The rest of the planet's habitable zones really only have two modes: summer and winter. There is an inbetween stage of course, but the springs and autumns move by very quickly. Summers in these zones are very cool, and on the hottest of days you could get away with a thinner long sleeve if you really wanted to. Think 60°F/15.55°C range. Their winters, however, are brutal. Temperatures will drop below freezing, and heavy snowfall will coat the land.  

Fresh liquid water tends to be rare to find, as most is either frozen or salt water, though modern technology has managed to negate that.  

Biology

Hocotations evolved from a predator-omnivore species that were adapted to some of the coldest reaches of their planet. While most of the traits from them are not as apparent, some still remain such as fur and a tail.

Fur

The first and most obvious to many is the fact they have a fur coat comparable to that of a short-haired house cat, which comes in a variety of shades of brown and cream colors. Patterns sometimes appear based on genetics, such as belly patches or fawn-like speckling. Flushing of the skin is still visible through the fur. It'll bristle and raise whenever a Hocotation is scared or angry. They’ll also fluff up (which looks softer than bristling) when cold or very happy. It keeps them quite warm on their planet, though fairly miserable in warmer temperatures.

Whether their fur is straight or curly depends on genetics, with both traits being equally dominant. Generally, if their fur is straight then their hair is straight; if their fur is curly their hair is curly. There are rare exceptions to this, though.

They will grow extra fur in the fall and shed it in the spring, with kids needing to be sat down and groomed to ensure a smooth shedding. Most kids do NOT like this. Shed fur was historically used in pillows and house insulation, but in modern times it is often just disposed of.

Blood

Hocotation blood is bright blue, which helps keep their blood filled with whatever gas they need even in frigid temperatures. As a result, they blush a purple-blue color and their insides tend to range in blue to purple colors, including their mouths and tongues!

(Olimar’s blush is warmer as I’ve always associated him with warmer colors. Blush colors are hereditary but ultimately mean little.)

Senses

Their eyes generally appear to be mostly pupils because of fresh liquid water once being rare! Pupils help filter light, and will expand/contract based on how much light is needed. Water (and ice, if they're desperate enough to boil some for water) is very shiny, and thus they can catch the glittering of it easier. This is why they love treasure and generally shiny things so much - they're subconsciously programmed to think shiny = will keep you alive. This is also why humans love shiny things so much! Though it is a little more extreme in Hocotations. 

Hocotations also have tandem lupin, allowing them to see well in the dark. Below is a comparison of what humans, Koppaites, and most pikmin species can see versus what Hocotations can see. Note how the saturation of color lowers when in low light situations. This happens only in the dark - when there’s enough light, they see colors in the same way we do.

This tandem lupin also causes their eyes to glow when hit with light in dark areas, much in the same way cats' eyes do. What color their eyes “glow” depends on the color of their iris. In canon pikmin media few characters have colored eyes, but in this AU that has been changed to where all characters have colored eyes.

Hocotations have a sharp sense of hearing, and their ears will twitch when they hear a sudden and/or loud noise. They also have a sharp sense of smell, able to identify a person by smell alone. These scents can linger in an area or on something if strong enough, however they’re not the best at determining the age of a smell. The helmets of their space suits will block their sense of smell.

Diet           

Hocotations are omnivorous! Because vegetable crops tend to be their most popular export, a lot of other races tend to assume they're vegetarian. They have very sharp teeth, plus a few flatter molars. They can also rarely have a trait that gives them longer and pointer tongues, but it does no harm nor no good for them. Just kinda is.  

Staples of a Hocotation diet include tubular/root plants, fiber-rich mushrooms, squash (a zucchini-like plant in particular), wheat-like and rice-like grains, eggs and meat from a quail-like bird, milk and meat from a goat-like animal, and meat from an ox-like animal. They also have access to sugar for desserts and many spices to flavor their food.

Displaying Emotion

They have long pointed ears which will move about depending on what emotion they are currently feeling. They will perk up slightly when spooked or alert, droop down when angry or sad, and pin back slightly when annoyed. As babies and toddlers, the cartilage in their ears hasn't fully developed. So until around four or five years of age, their ears will be folded down and they'll be unable to emote with them. Starting at age three or four, they will be able to perk their ears up for short bursts of time to emote interest in something, but they will quickly flop back down. 

Repeating from an earlier section for organizational reasons, their fur will bristle and raise whenever they are scared or angry. They’ll also fluff up (which looks softer than bristling) when cold or very happy.

Hocotations can involuntarily growl to show anger, but can also just growl whenever they please to express any number of emotions. They develop this ability at around 3 to 4 years of age. 

Hocotations can also chuff in a similar manner to tigers to display happiness. Here’s a link to a YouTube video that shows you what this sounds like if you are unfamiliar with it. This will often be written out as “mrf” as an onomatopoeia. They have this ability from birth. 

Lastly, Hocotations have small tails, a left over from the animal species they once were. It gives them no benefit but does no harm either, so it never went away; just shrunk a bit. This tail will wag when they are happy, and shake slightly when they are interested or spooked.

Instincts 

As mentioned previously, Hocotations have a natural eye for shiny things as fresh liquid water was once much rarer on their snowball of a planet, especially in the regions they initially evolved in. Note that this isn’t an instinct to be greedy, far from it, just a natural affinity for such objects. Again, humans work the same way! It’s just slightly more intense for them. 

In the winter, Hocotations will “slow down” considerably on a multitude of fronts. This is due to a sort of pseudo-hibernation. While their activity levels and metabolism do reduce by a significant amount, they do not lower to the same amount as most other hibernating organisms do. While Hocotations typically sleep 8-10 hours* a day, in this pseudo-hibernation state they will sleep for 13-14 hours*, or just over half of the day (because messing with the length of days on other planets, while more realistic, is scary and can be confusing to readers if not made super clear). They will also eat slightly less and will display aversion to foods that take a lot of energy to digest.

*How long they sleep for changes drastically depending on age: these are the averages for adult Hocotations. For babies to teens, please see the section on development. 

Hocotations do have some residual hunting instincts from when they were still predator animals. These quickly fade as they age, however that is caused more by society/culture than by biology. These instincts mainly revolve around chasing anything they perceive to be a small animal. Toddlers will be played with in ways that actually encourage such behavior as a way to manage their energy. Children as young as five or six will lose this instinct when properly taught a healthier out-put for this energy: exercise and sports. The need for this energy output fades with time, due to a mix of this energy instead being put into oft demanding work and the body naturally slowing with age. However, these instincts can reappear for short bursts of time as a part of a Hocotation’s fight-or-flight response (or when angry drunk). This can be further intensified if they are “hunting” with other organisms with similar instincts, such as (but not limited to) dogs and pikmin.

Development 

Babies 

Babies will sleep for most of the day in the warm months, and during pseudo-hibernation they will wake only for food and diaper changes before falling asleep again. This is due to how much development babies (and toddlers!) go though in a relatively short amount of time. As previously mentioned, the cartilage in their ears has not hardened and so their ears will flop down. Otherwise, their development mirrors that of humans greatly. 

Toddlers

This is the stage where their hunter instincts will begin to develop. They will instinctively chase after anything they perceive to be a small animal, a “small animal” to a tot being anything smaller than a typical adult house cat that moves quickly. Smaller creatures will need to be kept away for the safety of both the toddler and the animal, as toddlers will stick anything in their mouths. As they cannot be reasoned with to not chase things and the instincts are too strong to reasonably be taught out with other methods, parents will instead give them various toys to chase and gnaw on. These toys must be specifically designed for this use for the safety of the toddler. Toddlers will bat these toys around much like cats, chasing them the best they can. Due to their fur they are prone to sliding across smooth surfaces, so parents must be careful as to where their tots play (though a few minor bumps are both inevitable and, well, minor). Toddlers also like to look out windows, specifically to watch the various birds and other creatures that dart around the lawn.

Toddlers will sleep for fewer hours than babies, but will still sleep quite often. During pseudo-hibernation, they will wake only to be fed, changed (or to use the bathroom themself, if potty trained), and for two hour intervals of high energy play that happen once or twice a day, depending on the toddler’s age. These two hour intervals are affectionately referred to by caretakers as “the zoomies”. 

At this stage, the cartilage in their ears will slowly develop. They’ll go from being able to perk their ears up for short bursts to typical Hocotation ears by the end of this phase. They’ll also develop the ability to growl, though they cannot control it.

Young Children 

As children age, they will slowly but surely need less sleep to function, though still a fair bit more than what adults need. This is the age where, now that they can talk and (kinda, sorta, not really) understand consequences, they are taught to instead put their hunting energy into other activities. Namely, exercise and sport. They’ll spend much of their time in the warmer months running around, though they thankfully lack this extra energy during pseudo-hibernation. By this age, they’ll also figure out how to growl on command and suppress instinctual growls. 

Older Children

This stage of life is characterized (and started by) the beginning of puberty, which largely goes about the same as it does for humans. This is also the age where the pre-established sleep pattern of “needing less sleep as they age” encounters a hiccup. Due to the toll puberty can take on the body, they will once again start sleeping for longer periods of time. During pseudo-hibernation, they are infamously impossible to wake up and will only rise from sleep on their own terms.

Teens

Post-puberty, teens will slowly revert back to needing less and less sleep, until eventually matching the patterns of an average adult at around age 20. Otherwise, this goes about the same as it does for humans, how fun!

Who is Anika's patron? What are they like? What is their relationship like?

Straight to the point, are you not? There's sooo much to discuss about the Deep One~

His appearance might be nightmarish to those who ignore his presence, but Anika grew up with him by her side, so she's more than used to the shadow tendrils spreading their reach on occasion, and the alien cracked skull that is his mask. It doesn't resemble any known living creature, and the shape of the mandible doesn't seem to match the one of its cranium at all, nor it seems able to move other than little tilts. And yet, his voice is deep and clear, collected and somewhat stern when he speaks, only to be cracked with sincere affection towards Anika when the fatherly attitude takes over the entity.

But who is he, really? Anika was promised an explaination in her youth when the time would be right; but the pressing investigations of a marine ally of her former party forced a complicated truth out, risking the wrath of the angels of Drana, the goddess of Light and first of the Erasian pantheon, who so strongly fought to banish him from existence centuries prior.

The water genasi known as Mikatosh, cleric of Rovan, now lies petrified at the bottom of a lake close to the city of Bazel, in Derum. He sealed a promise with the Deep One, Anika, and Eksirias, a powerful Seer that watches over Maera with the strongest forces of the continent: when the knowledge he gathered is safe to have, the Patron and his daughter will personally find him again to undo the curse and give him back his humanity, so that everyone can safely continue their lives on. Of course, such secrets were shared with Anika in hopes that she could become aware of the reality she was involved in: a special protection was applied to her instead, so that she could carry the secrets without being detected by the divine, and without losing her chance at fulfilling the pact she still strongly believes in. Besides, it doesn't matter who the Deep One used to be in his past life to her - not to the extent of turning her back on him and stand against him despite his real identity. She is still very much convinced of wanting her father in the physical world, enough to give part of her divine blood and her wings up to the cause during a special ritual which involved more than 30 people.

Today, she can proudly summon a tangible version of the phantom by her side, and fighting together has deepened their bond even further. (Summoner class of Pathfinder 2e was the best replacement for the Warlock, keeping the lore intact and developing it so delightfully~)

More fun facts:

~ At the beginning of their journey, when Anika was still a teen, she went through a phase of rebellion towards the Deep One because of the feeling of being just used. On multiple occasions, however, the Deep One proved his strong bond by putting himself inbetween her and danger: while it might have been a matter of interest over all in early times, he certainly proved his attachment when he and Eksirias saved her from insanity after being forced through a ceremony by an unknown cult praising Void, chaos and destruction. She has been calling him father since, and Eksirias a mother, despite her relationship with her is far less developed than the one with him.

~ While her duties tripled in depth, Anika often finds time to chat with the Deep One about matters of all kind, also personal ones now that she's allowed to discuss his past and condition. Her curiosity and thirst for knowledge have known little boundaries so far, and he's been happy to indulge ever since.

Explaining Elvea

The inbetween of hell and heaven, created by Mother Rava as a distraction for her children while she managed the universe. The two created an earth-like place inhabited by many creatures over the years, each dispute or bond between the sisters created new species with their own individual lives. 

Elvea only contains one large continent, similar to Pangea. The rest of Elvea is surrounded by water made from the blood of the two sisters. Elvea is split into 5 Earth regions (As well as 4 water regions, explained below). 

Elvea doesn’t experience climate change or erosion, as the land is kept pristine under the rule of the King and Queen. Elvea is kept in a sunny state, at night, the temperature drops, but only by a few degrees. Rain and Thunder would suggest something terrible has happened and thrown off the balance of Elvea and is a sign of danger. 

Elvea shares a separate solar system that is light years away from the Earth’s solar system, this is why those must use magic to travel in and out of Elvea. 

Elvea has 2 moons, though one is inhabited by those that were exiled from the land of Elvea and no longer affects the planet's state. 

Earth regions

The Forest

The uncharted lands that separate the Earth from the water. Those of high prestige tend to stay away from the forest as it is seen as dirty. In reality, only a few weak creatures take home in the dark forest of Elvea. 

The Misty Runes

A mostly deserted land that holds the Tomb of Enir and the now sealed Statue of Rava. It also houses the Miwaku crystal of Purity and Truth. Not many live in the Misty Runes because of its high peaks and trashed guard stations. It is rumored that the followers of Enir live among the ruins.

The Deadlands 

A visible fragment of Viela and Viruella's dispute. The land is both beautiful and chaotic, though those of high prestige see it as childish because of its alluring colors and find no use of its existence (hence its name.) Elvean guards led by Sir. Leroux train in the deadlands, since it holds no further purpose.

The Valley of Balance 

Another remnant of Viela and Viruella, except it is the first piece of land that they created together. The Valley is home to many, and those who enter the land lose the ability to use their powers. It’s a beautiful, untouched land. 

The Split

This is where the empire of Elvea lies, ruled by Lavinia and Arkio Vicente after the goddesses were no longer ruling the land of Elvea. The two took over as directed by Mother Rava herself. Many species live here, as it is the biggest piece of land in Elvea.

Water Regions

Home to Viruella’s sea serpent companion, named Elo. Elo protects the Ocean of Elvea, for her owner, who will never return. 

Sorein

Sorein holds a water temple dedicated to the praise of Rava. Many species live here, lavishly as the Ocean is held away from the conflict of Elvea. 

Pholis

Similar to the Misty runes, this is a mainly uninhabited area, with the exception of a few wandering merfolk who are quickly redirected back to Sorein. 

Opolis

Not much is known about Opolis, as it is uncharted waters. Though it is said to hold the only source of cold water.

As someone who has an ongoing feud with the ocean (yes, I know that sounds crazy but I called them bitch ones and since then they've been angry) I entirely support no one goes there anymore.

My story will either want you to jump in and get abducted by mermaids or stay away from the ocean forever, there's no inbetween.
