A Changed Future (1): Yandere Isekai 

When you woke after an especially tiresome day the last thing you’d expect was to reawake in a room that looked nothing like your own

The house, the neighborhood, your job everything was not your own

Instead, it’s resembling a webtoon you remember seeing the marketing, edits, and spoilers for

And if it was all adding up right you’d find the horrifying truth behind the controversial protagonist of the story would be incredibly true

“Look I’m sorry I yelled…I love you…I’m really hungry. Can I eat today?”

The beautiful and practically perfect protagonist was the one who trapped their love interest inside their–now your basement

Chained to the floor on a chair in the dark with unfinished surroundings was the poor victim of the yandere protagonist

Haruko, is an average guy who previously caught the protagonist’s attention by standing up to one an influential pair of elitists in defense of their crush but that’s hearsay

In the former protagonist's atmosphere the children of the rich were victims to their family’s whims often protecting their wealth rather than their children

Which caused Haruko to defend his friend from their overbearing parents

That is when the protagonist suddenly fell deeply in love with the average fellow 

Obsessively stalking him and eliminating their rivals by any means necessary

finally snatching their love and running to a small little home where they planned to have their dreamy life 

Of course, after breaking his spirit and having Haruko develop some kind of stockholm syndrome

To find that you’ve been isekai’d is jarring 

But being a protagonist that had the internet raving for years about how unhealthy they were is awful

But it was nothing when you were standing at the top of the stairs and watching the malnourished man call out to you

“Yeah….sure.”

Naturally you calm down, enough to make the poor guy something to eat and drink

Excusing yourself to have a breakdown in the bathroom before coming up with a plan to fix it all

“Y-you’re letting me go?”

“Yes, I won’t stop if you want to go to the police…but I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t.”

You felt so selfish 

But you weren’t the one who imprisoned him

Now that you were though you were going to turn a new leaf

After feeding him, clothing him, and giving him a hefty sum from the protagonists savings 

You go to their place of work where they’re in line for a promotion

“I quit.”

“E-excuse me (L/n)?! But your about to become the vice president of the company!?”

“I know. Sorry?”

You almost feel bad turning down the CEO who visits to try and reason with you

In your opinion, the protagonist didn’t deserve any of their success

They technically didn’t need it because they were stacked

Same could be said for the detective thats been constantly asking the protagonist questions

“You are actually agreeing to talk with me?”

“Yeah.”

“Did you hit your head?!”

With the knowledge from spoilers and ads you’d seen, you knew that the worst part of this story is that the protagonist is doing just fine while Haruka continues to struggle with his captivity and manufactured feelings

You want to do this right, whether you were meant to live in this world from now on or would one day return to your own

But in the meantime you’d do what you felt was right 

Turning their life—now your life around to somehow try to condone for all the crimes they’ve done

Unfortunately, though things don’t seem to want to go your way

“Please Please take me back!” 

“What?”

“You heard me! You were right you’re the only one who loves me! I love you! Please! Please! Take me back in your basement!”

“Okay?”

It seems that once you released the poor guy he returned to society

Expecting to be welcomed by his friends and family upon being missing for years

Who instead had moved on or had benefitted from him being declared dead

He tried to go back to working but he couldn’t get you out of his head

Not the one that ranted about adoring him and the one that would go days without feeding him

But the one that cried when you saw his skin bruising in his chains

The one that fed him a hot meal 

The one that helped him relearn to use his weakened legs

The one that keeps apologizing for every little thing you do

That’s the you, he likes

And he’d much prefer he turn back to being a victim trapped in your basement if it meant having you back in his life

“I don’t mind if you stay here if you need but I’m not keeping you trapped here. I won’t do it anymore.”

He cries and bangs his hands on the floor when you officially tell him

But he’ll take you up on your offer to move in with you

“Good morning (Y/n)! Since you quit your job you’re getting up so much later now. You’ve got to be careful waking too late.”

“Uhm how do you know I quit my job?”

“Unless you're locking me in the basement you don’t need to know!~”

He’s like a weird roommate who occasionally asks that you restrain him in some way

Purposefully rummaging in your storage to find ropes that you haven’t thrown away yet or buying them himself and leaving them out

“Ooops~! I did leave a chain out while cleaning! I’m so bad, being so careless even though you’ve been so against it. I should be punished! I know, you should tie me up! Right? Right? Right?”

He’s going insane everytime you refuse his demands to be locked away

You’re even sweeter now that he’s not locked away and that’s not helping

He’ll ultimately decide he should try it

“Hey (Y/n)?”

“Yes?”

“You still feel guilty about what you did to me right?”

“...Yes.”

“Then how about you do something for me? To make up for it?”

Even if you know you’ve done nothing wrong 

The guilt doesn’t stop you

Letting him lock you in the basement as he repeats some of the same punishments he remembers

Or rather tries to

“I just can’t seem to stand being away from you for a day, let alone not feed you then. I have no idea how you did it.”

You couldn’t be sure either

Which is why you don’t protest as his actions tend to get a bit more…wild

“Like you suggested I did try going for that new job again.”

“Uh that’s good.”

“I know since you’ve left they seem to be desperately searching for extra hands. I’d feel bad for them if you weren’t with me!”

“Right…”

“But being away from you all day is killing me! Maybe I should look for a more remote position.”

He treats you better than the former protagonist did 

Quickly moving you up to your old room and just chaining you there

But he wants more from you

He takes up so much of it, that the same problems that happened in the webtoon were happening again

Call me delulu, but I woke up with hope in my heart today.

It's only been 2 months since the show was cancelled. WBD is run by an incompetent fool. WBD previously said they'd sell Coyote vs. Acme, but then made it impossible for anyone to buy it. All streaming services are struggling financially at the moment.

Daddy Jenkins had to tell us we've reached the end of the road, because that's the reality right now. Either WBD made it impossible for anyone to buy the show, or the actual realistic price was just too high for other streamers at the moment even if they wanted to buy it. “Many complimentary meetings, conversations, etc” sounds like someone was interested.

DJ and everyone else who worked on the show need to be able to move on, so they can make a living from other projects. They’ve all been holding their breath just in case they can start filming after all. The fans need to move on in the sense that we can't expect a renewal "any day now", like we did for 2 months. We can still hope that we'll see season 3 one day, but now we can be realistic about the chances of it happening in the immediate future.

Everyone who worked on this show has loved it so dearly that I'm certain that if season 3 gets greenlit in the future, they'll all want to work on it again. As long as DJ is in, the others are too. The Revenge can be rebuilt. The time that has passed can be explained in the story, if it needs explaining at all. If some actors won't be able to return, we'll get new characters added to our family, and we'll embrace them just like we embraced all the new characters in season 2.

Depending on what the problem for the pick up was, things might change very quickly, or they might take a few years. Who knows, if we continue being loud, a streaming service that quickly passed on the show in January might take interest in it later. A streaming service that offered too little might make a better offer, and WBD might accept just to get rid of us (because we're back to calling Max out on this bullshit and it's not a good look for them). Or, once the industry recovers a bit, a streaming service might be willing to reconsider spending a big amount of money on this show. And if WBD set an impossible price for the show this time, they might shop it around for a more reasonable price once Zaslav is out (or even greenlight season 3 themselves, but that’s delulu level 200). Even if we don't get a season 3, we might still get a movie, or a comic book, or a script book, or a blu-ray release, or the Jenkins Cut. And honestly, if someone was to announce they've picked up the show in a year or two... that's not a long time at all.

Pirate Daddy said that our campaign was noticed across the industry. They hear and see our love for this show. They know we're here for the show if it's ever to return. They know this show has potential.

So let’s keep having fun in the fandom. Keep being loud about Our Flag Means Death. Keep using the hashtags. Keep making fanart. Keep shouting about how unfair this cancellation was. We don’t have to do it with the same intensity as during the campaign (I know we’re all tired and it’s completely okay to step away if you need/want to), but as long as we as a fandom are consistent, they’ll see there’s a demand that just won’t go away.

There is always hope. It’s not the same kind of hope we had before January 9th, and it’s not the kind we had until March 7th. But there are so many variables, and so little time has passed. Who knows what the industry will look like in a year or two. I’d rather believe in a future that might just hold a pleasant surprise for us than throw in the towel completely.

I’m a long- time reader of the VC - read the first 4 books in 1994 at the ripe old age of 12 and then eagerly kept up after that. I did the message boards thing and the live journal thing as a teen and young adult. I’ve been in this fandom a long time, and it’s interesting to see how show-only viewers see things.

One thing I’ve enjoyed with the show are the little ripple effects of the changes they’ve made to the time period, and to some of the characters races, ages, and origins. For the most part I’m in love with how these changes enrich and expand the story, lending new thematic weight to different aspects of the story.

I am having trouble processing the implications of one change, though, and wonder at your thoughts. One impact of changing Claudia’s age and origins is that her death no longer truly feels inevitable or necessary. Claudia of the books is trapped in a five year old’s body with a five year old’s cognitive development. No matter how long she lives or what that changes within her, she can never be free and independent. I think the core tragedy of Claudia is this inevitability. She must die. Lestat and Louis fail her by extending her life and rendering her into this unnatural, helpless creature of unquenchable appetites. Her death is tragic but also a mercy. It makes sense when you consider the loss Claudia’s character was born from. I think Anne wrote her the way she did as a way of letting go of her daughter. She wrote a story where eternal life as a child was a misery to be released from. Claudia’s end is tragic but also merciful. I have a five year old son; I would not want such endless suffering for him.

But Claudia in the show absolutely can survive and find fulfillment and meaning. We see that with the glimpses of her short life with Madeline. Even if they eventually parted ways, she could absolutely continue on. The audience feels this even more acutely because both Bailey and Delaney look like grown women. It’s hard to suspend disbelief enough to see them as young enough to be doomed. This fundamentally changes what Claudia’s story means. It ripples onto all the other characters as well. The way we read them and their arcs and involvement is deeply impacted by the implications that Claudia didn’t have to die. It changes the nature of the tragedy, and though I think her character has provided interesting insights into womanhood and growing up, I don’t know that this thematic change benefits the overall story. Still processing it, but feeling rather divided. And I can feel the new, show-only fan discourse barreling towards us like a boulder speeding down a hill.

Hmmm. So I get what you mean (also high-fives you, I'm a handful of years ahead but also went through all the "old fandom" stuff.)

Claudia's tragedy ... is changed, true. But she is still failed. By everyone who was supposed to take care of her. Her mother died, her father failed her, her auntie, too. Her "adopted" fathers failed her, too, though not really for lack of trying, but for the simple reason that they used her - they wanted her as something to bind them together, and she simply could not be that. The other vampires fail her, both in malicious and also pitiful ways. Armand - as the leader of the Parisian coven - should have protected her, after she joined.

They all fail her. Because Louis and Lestat, and Armand (and Santiago and the coven)... use her.

And I feel that the tragedy of her life is made all the clearer here, because she never stood a chance.

She found her "x", she found a way out, on her own devices, despite everything.

But she is pulled back, and used again, for a mock trial, a mock purpose. (Another parallel to Lestat here, who is also used throughout the chronicles.)

I would not want book!Claudia's fate for my child either. I can understand why Anne had to change the original book fate (which was her getting away!) to the one we have now. I get it.

But the show added more possibility to Claudia's fate. More... opportunity. In theory.

But she was never able to really take that opportunity, because she was locked into her existence by them. Not only into a teenage body, but also into the vampiric existence.

As soon as she gets away... there are machinations to pull her back. Literally in s1. More subtle in s2.

She cannot get away... because others use her - again.

Personally, I find that even more bitter.

Out of curiosity, what does the psychic cat fam exactly do out there? (This doesn’t have to be exclusive to just now, also could have been just Meau, Noe, and Mew) Aside from vibing. They live in a paradise where food isn’t a concern and nothing with a brain would try to hurt them. Do they play fight? Teach the youngin’s their future jobs? Have games? Maybe some swipped books to read? Explore the world outside of their tree for funsies? See who can steal as many goodies from human society without getting caught?

I know it’s silly but I like the “filler” of things. To think about what characters are doing when the “plot” isn’t being progressed. It’s part of why I like the slice-of-life genre from time to time. Life isn’t always an adventure or fight against some opposing force, but it can still be fun!

I agree, I’m honestly a bit upset with myself, given how long each update takes I never noticed I wasn’t adding in enough filler. Something I plan to fix once we’re in Noe’s arc, as we are sadly, or luckily? Way too close to beginning it to shove any sudden filler in. For now I’m blaming it on first time story telling and having to do art school on the side X3

As for the gang, Meau did fly a little bit off the handle due to not having a lot of stimulation when she was younger before Noe showed up. As for what they did/do, for reasons that’ll become clear later; they mostly talked in the early days!

She would show off her creations, abilities, transformations, and forming ecosystems to him. He would ask about as many questions as one would with a new world and she thrived off it. They would watch other Pokémon’s life in secret like it was a soap opera, sometimes intervening to make it more interesting or admittedly have it lean towards the ending they wanted. Usually betting and taking opposing sides as to what would happen.

Battling is a particular big one for Meau, she loves to get down and dirty with other legendaries and mythicals even if she has the power advantage. Most often fighting with her brothers, she wouldn’t be above transforming into the Pokémon she was fighting to even out the playing field, or even change her type so she was inherently weaker to it. It’s why she’s never been against human with their Pokémon battles, battling is an innate part of her creations and herself.

Missingno. on the other hand loves to explore, even with his age, he knows the world is in a constant state or change and ventures off on his own to explore it. He’s not nearly as against humans as Meau and has explored their cities and settlements. Most intrigue by their computers/technology nowadays and how he’s able to to interact with them. Meau has explored with him on occasion, but prefers to stay away.

I’d also imagine they like to race in very difficult conditions. High up in the atmosphere or just outside in the actual vacuum of space. Deep in the ocean, forcing them to make their own path through rock and stone. Which probably pisses off the weather trio invading all 3 of their areas, but that leads perfectly into the next one.

They love to piss off the other legendaries, because… well, what can they do?

There has been more then on tropical storm, tsunami, volcanic eruption, and general disaster caused by the Ancients pestering another powerful legend. Lastly, they sleep, if the current time is too boring, peaceful, or simply there is nothing to do that interests them… they’ll sleep for a couple thousand years.

As for more current day stuff, it’s much tamer since Bucket was taken, Meau woke up from a much needed thousands years nap to a very different world. Humans had well established themselves even further, technology exists, and they can clone/create pokemon. So she is staying in the tree with her suddenly growing family, just to watch. She wants to know what everything’s up too from a distance given they’ve somehow managed to trap and almost kill another mew, make a Mewtwo, and possibly a second one.

So she’s just always watching human society from the tree, whilst also teaching and nurturing Odysseus. He spends more of his time exploring the tree and occasional testing out powers. With Meau’s assistance. The trees massive and filled with Pokémon, so he’s got quite the endless bit of entertainment. Decamark is the newest edition and thus follows a lot of what Ody does! Though Noe has been poking them, figuratively, with a stick to figure out what he’s capable of.

Reading Journals!? Why You Really Should!!

I'm writing this to promote the concept of reading journals in general for occultists! 

It often seems like, while a lot of us read a ton, we don't engage enough with what we read. It's very important to think critically about the information we consume.

Keeping records of it can be helpful for that. While not everyone's going to vibe with it, I do recommend giving it a try for most witches, diviners, wizards, etc... you might like it. Keeping a reading journal? It has some advantages IMHO.

I found it works very well for keeping track of my reading goals. It also helped me engage more with what I was reading. I think this produced an altogether more interesting experience when reading fiction, too.

I learned more when reading nonfiction, and it helped prep reviews for this very website, too. It's kind of hard recently, because of health issues, but I want to keep a daily reading habit as best I can. I might change up my journaling format, though, which I'll discuss towards the end of this article.

To begin, you need a journal. Any blank notebook will work. A lot of people swear by dot grid journals. I use those for most other things. For my reading journal, I bought a pre-printed one called Kunitsa, and there are others on the market, too.

Beyond that, you only need a pen. I use a lot of highlighters and other color in my reading journal, to make tracking things more fun. Next, you're going to want to include a table of contents for your reading journal if possible. In fact, I recommend doing that for all journals, but that's another story entirely. If you pick a pre-printed reading journal like mine, choose one with such a feature.

If you're a DIYer, leave a few blank pages at the beginning of your notebook for the table of contents. Usually four or five pages will do for a table of contents, depending on the size of the journal itself. Including a table of contents can also help get past those first-page jitters if it's a blank book.

A reading journal can include an inventory of your library. My own library is digital because I have to cross the Atlantic on a frequent basis. Those with physical books might find it useful to catalogue everything, particularly favorites.

This could even include where it's stashed. Given that I could easily print a list of mine, my journal doesn't have this, but yours could. You could also organize your library based on the criteria of your choice. I do this digitally, and it can be great to be able to pull out a list of (for example) all the Tarot books I own, favorites, etc..

Keep track of your reading goals! This is the big one, of course. I try to read at least thirty minutes per day, and I log each day I meet that goal. A reading journal can include a simple daily reading tracker like mine, or variations on that.

Some people might track how many pages they've read, or even chapters, for example. You can, of course, include your To Be Read list, adding to it and crossing out as needed.

Keep track of books, authors and topics. You'll want to include a page or two for each book you read, with meaningful quotations and your own thoughts. Some people get quite elaborate with this, including diagrams, images, and such.

I stick to quoting the parts I found important, then adding my own notes. If you buy a reading journal, choose one formatted for both fiction and nonfiction. These little "spreads" on each book help a ton if you want to prepare reviews later on, or just to keep track of what you’ve read for the future.

The reading journal I've been using has a section for borrowed books. Since all my books are Kindle, and I don't typically borrow books, I repurposed this for my review schedule. You can create your own spread for that kind of thing if you're doing a DIY approach, which would be even better.

Because I didn't see a use for the first two pages of the notebook, I turned them into a little pocket using washi tape. I figure that if necessary, I can include extra trackers/etc on my own paper in the pocket. I haven't done that yet, but I probably will in the new year. Currently, the pocket only contains some unused stickers.

You could, of course, get much more complicated with a reading journal! It's all up to you. I plan to use a similar setup next time around, but doing it myself in a (larger) dot grid notebook. The preprinted version of a reading journal worked well to get me started. Now that I've got the basics figured out, I want to customize things more.

All and all, I know most occultists love journaling. At least, many of us do. But why don't more of us journal about what we read? Dedicating a notebook just for a reading journal worked great for me, and might work for you, too.

I'd look into different options (preprinted, blank notebooks, digital) before getting started. Don't be afraid to mess up, like with any new notebook. It can become a way of looking deeper into what you're reading, though.

on the scale of 1-10 delulu, how likely do you think some new evil gortash ending being made is?

I think it's 50-50, so I guess that converts to a level 5 Delulu.

Why I think it might be happening

1. The Dialogue Bug - I think it’s suspicious that a relatively simple bug (that has been confirmed as a bug) has gone unfixed through so many hotfixes.

EDIT: It’s a common misconception that Hotfix 18 removed all Gortash dialogue changes but that's not quite the case. Here is a rundown of what's missing.

Now, it really is possible that it is really just extremely low priority for Larian. I just think that this, paired with other things, is suspicious.

2. New Evil Endings - we know Larian is working on new Evil endings but we have no details on what those are. However, the fact that only Gortash’s alliance dialogue has changed (edit: there's a small change in his Boss Fight scene too but its tied to the same file. See link above for a full rundown) and gone unfixed is what makes me think maybe there’s more in the works. Like I’ve said before, the dialogue file that this addition is in is the entire file for that office scene. If they wanted to beef up a Gortash alliance as an Evil Ending, they’d most likely have to edit that file again anyway. So why work on something twice when you can just roll it out all at once?

3. Getting Gortash to the end of the game is not as complicated or involved as people think - Gortash dies once the endgame has already been set in motion. You wouldn’t have to actually add that much. All you’d have to do is have the Emperor suck him into the prism too and have them duke it out, or have the Emperor leave him and come up with some narrative explanation for how he got away from the Netherbrain. Then he’d probably have to have a few lines in your little Endgame Pit Stop to speak to your allies - and that’s pretty much it. The rest, if they really had to go bare bones, can be added via mentions of him in the Epilogue. There’s already files that make some mention of calling on the Steel Watch in the final fight.

4. The Extra Delulu point- Larian has always been responsive to fans. They need to set boundaries, and clearly aren’t going to be adding a lot, but I don’t think the fact that Durgetash has risen to one of the top spots on AO3 counts for nothing. That’s something that is clearly measurable data of fan interest. At the very least, I’m certain it’s made them aware of it, we just don’t know if they’ve made the decision to act on it.

Why I think it might not be happening

1. Larian will only be adding limited content from this point forward - my hopes for any Gortash ending were immediately dashed when I first heard this news, but then revived with skepticism when they mentioned the evil endings. We don’t even know if a definitive edition is still on the table, which is where I initially thought they might add Gortash content. It’s very possible that because of this decision, no new Gortash content will be added. They may have also originally intend to add content, but ultimately chose to reprioritize with this new direction.

2. The Absolute Legend that is Jason Isaacs- It’s always been said that having such an incredible voice actor is a catch-22, because it makes calling them back in to record anything new that much harder due to both budget and scheduling constraints. Now, as I said above, not THAT much would need to be recorded, but even if it is only a little this is a very clear reason why it might have to be a no-go.

3. Gortash’s other content - it’s clear that Gortash was a victim of the cut content stick. We find out way too much about him from only letters and mentions that feel really out of nowhere, but ultimately accomplish the job. I could also understand the writers feeling like if they had to pair down his story to what it is, adding it without any additional backup would feel weird.

TLDR; it’s a total toss-up.

The only people that actually know shit are Larian themselves, and no amount of speculation can actually be definitive. Assume the worst, dream of the best, and hope that it lands somewhere in the middle.

💗 GROWING HEART - if they have a crush, is it noticable? what changes when they’re in love?

Kieran: Kieran’s story is one of unrequited love. They love deeply and are very loyal, but most of that love has never been returned. They never met their mother, their father is rather indifferent to them, and their adoptive sister harbors complicated feelings regarding Kieran. They are a bit insecure when it comes to loving others, never really knowing if they love them back. They’ve never been in romantic love before, and with their added insecurities, they would have a hard time recognizing their own feelings and if their affections are returned, though their behavior towards you would slowly change as they start to care about you. They would have to allow themselves to be vulnerable with their feelings with you to see if their feelings are returned, and during a crushing period they’d be careful around you because they aren’t sure if you feel the same. Once they have confirmed you feel the same, they’d be much more gentle and relaxed around you than with strangers.

Aurynn: It likely wouldn’t be super noticeable, especially not to Aurynn himself. Aurynn is rather disillusioned with love and while he wants to love and be loved, he doesn’t know what that is supposed to look or feel like and doesn’t believe he is capable of loving someone or that someone is capable of loving him. It would take a lot for him to be able to believe someone actually loved him and to realize he loved them too. But once Aurynn realizes it, he’s going to be very protective of that love—it’s the first time he’s ever been in love and felt loved, and I don’t want to spoil all of his backstory and how that’s affected him, but being loved (whether platonically or romantically) is going to affect him very deeply and he will be extremely devoted to you, feeling he even owes his life to you.

Samira: Samira admires the MC as a friend, as a royal, and as a religious symbol. She would feel rather guilty about her feelings for you turning romantic as she knows you’d never be able to marry a commoner and she would feel her feelings for you are wrong and that she would have to try her best to suppress them. She also carries a secret regarding the circumstances of her father’s death which she fears would change how you view and treat her and that would add to her guilt over her feelings. As her feelings grow, her guilt and shame would be harder for her to hide and would affect how she interacts with you; she might start pulling away and closing herself off. If the MC were to return her feelings and every secret was laid bare and it didn’t change things, Samira—though she isn’t a shy person—would probably be a bit shy about the new development in your relationship as she figures out how to navigate this change.

Nihm: Nihm would struggle with accepting their feelings. They’ll feel terribly guilty since the MC is engaged to their charge’s older adoptive sibling. They are a romantic at heart and they are monogamous, so they’d suppress their feelings while you are engaged, feeling that they are wrong. They also are struggling with a very dark and difficult personal problem that scares them, and they’d fear that getting close to you could put you in danger. They wouldn’t be able to accept their feelings and act on them until you were out of your engagement and if you returned their feelings, they’d want to court you properly, taking the time to do things right with you.

Lucien/Lilith: Depending on whether you’d prefer to have a romantic or platonic relationship with L, L may or may not have a crush on MC from the start. They’ll be pretty forward about their interest in you and will cockily flirt and compliment etc but if MC dishes it back out to them they’re going to get pretty flustered. They don’t really expect you to feel the same so if you tease them they’re going to be embarrassed and assume you’re probably joking. They would prefer to act like their feelings are just a joke and they’ll keep you at arms length despite their interest in you because they fear you getting too close will result in a……disastrous outcome. Once in love, L will still be pretty cocky and flirty with you but they’ll be more confident when you reciprocate affection (though if you know what buttons to press you’ll still be able to embarrass them).

Things that bug me about the current Gargoyles comic

It’s been more than one year in canon, and we still haven’t seen the clan grapple with the implications of living with Xanatos. This was an issue in the previous comic, where Elisa seemingly has no problem going to a party hosted by the person who ruined her brother’s life, but it’s especially glaring here, given that the current series shows us that the gargoyles still suspect him of being capable of doing things like kidnapping Maggie, and that, thanks to recent development, they now have independent resources which make Xanatos not their only choice.   

All of the romantic relationships—including, shockingly, Goliath and Elisa—are utterly devoid of the chemistry necessary to actually make them shippable. Broadway and Angela are about to get gargoyle-married, and we’ve gotten precisely zero fun scenes between them since they’ve gotten together. Broadway and Katana have been a thing for more than a real-world year and I have no idea why.

Despite the doubling of the Manhattan’s clan’s numbers and their vastly different circumstances, the comic has done very little to establish what the dynamics between its various members are. This, at least, was also the case in the cartoon, but, with the additional numbers, it is especially egregious.

Brooklyn has come out of a Young Justice-like time gap—except decades long—and he’s…exactly the same as before? His “focus” issue, rather than gives us any insight into his time travels and how they've changed him, treats him as if he hadn’t actually spent decades having adventures on his own and not having to rely on Goliath. 

Goliath is a cop. GOLIATH. IS. A COP. Even if this weren’t the most tone-deaf development possible in twenty-fucking twenty-three, that we don't see the offer made, discussed, or accepted beggars belief. TELL THE ACTUAL FUCKING STORY.

The series just seems to have a phobia for character-building interactions in general. The discussion where a half-dozen very different characters come to agree that Xanatos kidnapped Maggie, based entirely on vibes? Off-panel. The encounter between Toni Dracon and Broadway and Lexington? Off-panel. All the discussions between Goliath and Elisa about everything? Off-panel.

The sophomoric trial of Goliath arc, which misunderstands the court system, how lawyers work, and the history of the trials it’s meant to hearken to; makes everyone we're meant to root for seem incompetent; and ultimately has no interest in its own actual consequences. Like, gargoyles can totally be arrested for vigilante action now, right--or for everything a cop decides to arrest them for?  That is what it means for laws to apply for them, correct?

All the various continuity porn bits, there not because they make sense, but entirely of a misguided belief in the effectiveness of going "you remember this". The most glaring of these is the inclusion of “we are gargoyles” into every opening monologue in volume three, simply because the phrase is part of the season 2 opening.

A preponderance of what I call writing for the wiki: a focus on establishing facts simply for the sake of being able to say they've been established. The most egregious example of this is the introduction of the non-Dracon crime families, in a scene that has them all speaking equally stiltedly in order to ensure that we know every character's name, allowing them to be added to the wiki. The latest issue, Gargoyles: Quest #3, while actually one of the better ones, is full of this kind of writing, spending most of its page time letting us know exactly where the various Illuminati members rank within the organization, while telling us very little else. Meanwhile, Elisa reaches the end of her suspension from the NYPD, and not only was nothing actually done with it, the scene were we learn this does nothing to establish anything beyond the fact that, well, her suspension is over. What, then, was the point?

The series cannot actually be said to be about the Manhattan Clan.

Hello! I just finished playing your game, and I adore it beyond words. I’ve never seen any sort of yandere content like this before and the idea of a yandere being created intentionally by someone with an agenda rather than by happenstance is beyond interesting.

I loved playing Eris - both in enabling their machiavellianism and in watching how their brain worked as they transformed Milo into what they wanted. Just seeing his transformation itself was wonderful as well! I feel bad for Milo, he didn’t deserve what happened to him, but seeing what he became depending on Eris’ decisions was so fun to watch - it really highlights what I love most about any sort of choose your own adventure story format: the ability to not only change the plot and relationships between characters, but the characters themselves. And your game was all about that - thank you so much for making it.

Another thing I find intriguing is the kind of person who would administer such a change. While it’s more than fun being in their shoes, I can’t help but want to view Eris as a character in their own right and see how they could evolve (and based on the cult following they’ve amassed I’m not the only one). I can’t imagine much would cause them to truly change unless they had something to be afraid of, meaning they probably wouldn’t change unless something had proved to be greater than them in a way that mattered. Maybe someone who managed to consistently get the better of them using manipulation, someone who was somehow immune to their control, or some god who decided to meddle in their business. If that person tried to change them, what would happen? What would it take to ruin them? And once they’re destroyed, what would be left over? I know this depends on what the player decides for their backstory and motives, but I really can’t help being curious- ultimately, though, my interest in reshaping and tearing apart Eris is all just rhetorical ramblings. I love your game and characters, Eris absolutely included, and the brainworm they’ve given me is top notch. I can’t wait to see more of what you put out, and I hope you have a lovely day! :)

It's always fun to read the longer reviews because people always put so much thought into it! I very rarely see any content where someone molds the yandere, since most of the time, the lover is general a normal or good person. I think that its really fun to have an evil main character every now and then. I also think it's very fun when each decision feels really impactful. That was part of what I wanted to do for this game other than I didn't want to overwhelm myself with too many choices and writing.

With Eris, it's hard to say. I think that the best way to force Eris to evolve is if they feel as if there is something they can use. Something involving a perfect love? Perhaps a way to manipulate the other person back. I think if Eris was forced by a god of any kind, I'm sure they would be resentful with it. Or well, I'm sure you can imagine what Eris would do in these situations.

I’m gonna say something controversial, but maybe Bridgerton wouldn’t have felt the need to rush Penelope and Colin’s season to screen if the show had a cable release schedule.

The show said they pushed Polin to season 3 because they felt audiences were getting impatient to see their love story resolved, which may be true, but they wouldn’t be so antsy after only two seasons if there weren’t two years between each of them. Yes, season 2 had to wait on COVID, and season 3 had to wait on the writer’s/actor’s strike, but they’ve said that season 4 will come out 2026 at best without any exterior obstacles, and they’ve just now convened the writer’s room (after season 3’s full release). I don’t watch many Netflix shows, but seeing as this is how they operate with TV, I don’t know how many people are going to continue sticking around for what will be an 8-season show (if they’re allowed to finish) with two years between everything when they’re already expressing discontent over the fact they have to wait so long, and often forget characters’ names and arcs but are unwilling to rewatch the entire show every time just to remember what happened one season ago. Audiences are finally reaching the point where they’re unsatisfied with 8 episodes every two years (often, in many show’s cases, with half an hour or less per episode), and with shows like Bridgerton losing production quality and poorly handling the source material (see: keeping Penelope and Colin’s core conflict over her being Lady Whistledown, but removing the context around it and providing a weaker argument, or having Francesca fall for Michael/a while being married to John, inadvertently playing into biphobic stereotypes and harming both characters’ love for John and their grief over his eventual death/guilty feelings for falling in love once he’s gone).

While there are things I love that the show changed (making the Bridgerton men much more appealing love interests, adding Queen Charlotte and her miniseries, creating a relevant but not central storyline regarding race equality in alternate England, LGBTQ+ rep, and, more recently, giving Lady Danbury more backstory), the main storyline has started suffering, especially in season 3. I’m not saying 22-episode shows with yearly releases don’t also decline over time, but they also aren’t expected to garner a massive following immediately upon release or face cancellation - or, if they are widely popular, to string fans along for far longer than necessary to retain subscribers for less, subpar content.

It makes no sense to play this “they can’t be together” shit in your last few episodes for a couple we never even saw date.

Okay, it would make SOME sense if your 3.5 seasons didn’t span ONLY ONE YEAR.

It would make sense to talk. To actually have more than ONE episode that allows them to talk about what it means. I mean I GET THAT THEY’VE DONE THAT but god it’s so wishy washy. And annoying.

And you want us to buy that all this has happened over one year? Then show us more of them together. Casual brushes. “Oops Sorrys”. “We really shouldn’ts”. More of THAT please.

NO NEW LOVE INTERESTS, no love triangles.

In this one year — Nancy found out she was adopted, had this distance from Carson, accepted she was a Hudson, lost so many people. AND EVERYTHING ELSE (Lucy, Owen, her uncle and gran, Carson legal stuff, Odette(!), Wraith, Hudson stuff, confronting grief, etc).

Nancy has also dated Nick, Owen, Bobsey (i forgot his name now) and Park. She also had that weird thing with Tamura. And now? Tristan. They did lay down the ground work for Nancy x Ace (which made those latter relationships make sense because well, Ace was dating other people). But this bullshit one year thing just messes the timeline up so much???

In this one year— Ace went from being informant to morgue assistant. (Actually SOME of the stuff that has happened within Ace’s own life outside of Drew Crew and relationship stuff could make sense, SOME). Ace rekindled his relationship with Laura Thandie, dated Amanda and now has this weird attachment to ghosts. The one consistent thing is highlighting Ace’s interests in Nancy. Still, ONE YEAR. The only thing that makes sense with Ace over the one year is us not seeing more of his family life. (I want to see more thanks).

In this one year— George went from dating Ryan to breaking up with him, to being engaged to Nick. Not to mention the law school stuff. Of course George Fan would get in please. I just mean ITS BEEN A YEAR SINCE THE BUCKET? Has it? No right???

In this one year —- Bess moved to Horseshoe bay, went from sometimes thief to supernatural know all? Dated Lisbeth then Odette/George(?) to Addy. Not to mention the girl the Marvins tried to set her up with. Oh yeah plus her ex coming back. AND SHE WENT FROM BEING A MARVIN to not, to keeper, to not.

In this one year — Nick went falsely accused to suspected killer to accountable person to rich pal to opening and running a foundation. He dated Nancy then George, then was ENGAGED to George before she ended things (and didn’t she say then that this year was weird for her) and now he’s dating(?) Jade.

Also can we talk about how the town has has had 2 changes to chief? One main detective that came and went. One arrested. An FBI consultant? IN ONE YEAR.

Aiya, I don’t know what this post is about. I’m just sad and I really freaking hate this timeline thing. It just feels very HIMYM. Like they had this preplanned thing and they didn’t think about how it would work as they added to it week to week.

Unless the secret Nancy confessed is that she found out the town and her friends are caught in some frozen time loop, it just doesn’t make sense.

Fic writers, please make this make sense. I’ll take your stories as canon.

Timeline Anon is back - I’ve decided to rewrite my timeline a bit with added dates. Kept some paragraphs with theories but the rest is just dates with receipts. Pin if you need. Enjoy, LOVE x!

I’m pretty sure they’ve only met in March this year at the Renegade Nell premiere on March 26. We know that Nic was on a 6 month press tour so seeing each other was probably difficult to do. However, they did have some time to hang out in April before she had to go to Australia, and Nic started posting quite a few interesting songs in her stories starting April. I have no idea which songs Jake was sharing during that time, however I do know that on May 18 he shared The Louvre and Nic shared Birds of a Feather. Then on June 2 she shared The Louvre. (We’ll come back to that later).

Nic wears a bucket hat with the words “Popup Bagels”. I know that it’s her hat because she followed the IG page in April and also owns a different hat with the same words. I know for a fact that on May 14, Jake already had his profile picture with the same bucket hat. I couldn’t tell you when he changed his pfp exactly, but I have a strong feeling that Nic bought this hat when she was in New York at the end of April when they left Australia, and I think Jake was with her in New York. It looks like he could be in a hotel room in his pfp. And it is her hat, not his. 

We first see Nic wearing this hat at the airport coming back from Brasil, May 22. Then funny enough, there were rumors going around that Nic and Luke were in Spain towards the end of May. We know Nic’s stylist was. But guess who else was in Spain? Jake. And guess who is wearing her bucket hat in Spain? Jake, on May 30. You can see that in his stories. 

And who is wearing that bucket hat again, a few days later? Nic, at the airport going to Toronto, on June 2. Why would you share a hat with someone that much? I have no clue if Nic was in Spain but they saw each other quite a lot during the two week break they had before she left for Toronto, that’s for sure. 

Like I said earlier, on June 2, Nic was the one to share the song The Louvre. This song literally means “It’s about new love. How complicated it can be & how infuriating & how perfect it is as well.” All right… 

June 10, Jake shared the song Pavement Tune by The Frames. On the very same day, two hours later, Nic shared Redemption/Your Face by The Frames.

June 12: Premiere of part 2, Jake attends the premiere and after party. 

June 15: Nic celebrated with Camilla, Jake, and other friends. You can see someone wearing her famous shirt, “Kiss me, I’m Irish and vaccinated”. Jake was the one wearing it and you can hear his voice in the video. 

June 17: Nic posts her Skims photos and Jake likes and shares in his stories very quickly. 

June 21: Nic shares about her new song and what I thought was interesting was that Jake shared a meme in his stories that said “Let’s work it out on the remix”. 

June 25: When Jake posted stories at the park playing Scrabble and you can see Nic’s purse. That’s when people knew they were hanging out just the two of them. 

27 juin: DM begins talking about Nic in a podcast saying that she could be dating somebody. They had no idea about Jake yet. 

June 30: Nic posts a story with a green flag with "women with perfect breasts" and wished a Happy pride to everyone. Jake didn’t post anything but I have a feeling they were all celebrating together with his/their friends because a few of his friends were sharing stories with similar flags. 

July 1: Jake posts a story at the theatre going to see People, Places & Things. Obviously you can’t see Nic anywhere, but now we know that they were together because someone saw them and shared to DM that they were “getting close”. Nic shares the song July by Mundy. 

July 4: Nic shares a PCFR post in her story about her fundraiser that raised over 2M $ and Jake likes very quickly (proud king). 

July 6: Jake posts a story inside her house. Once again, they looked to be hanging out alone at her place this time. Has she ever hung out with a guy friend this much alone before? Beside JVN. 

July 12. First big sighting. Them at the pub. Jake posted stories of him smiling at the camera holding a package and another one next to the poster of the movie Longlegs that was about to be released. Later DM released a picture of them drinking at the pub. 

July 13: Nic goes to Wimbledon. She posts pictures on IG.

July 14: People realize Nic has changed the polaroid on the back of her phone when pics of WD are released. Jake posts a story with Jack, and Luke Fethers posts a story with Eamon. They were at the same pub watching the football game. Nic shares a story only on July 29 for Jack’s birthday but it’s from that day, so she was present as well. 

July 15: Jake likes Nic’s pictures from Wimbledon. 

July 16: Nic posts late at night and Jake liked only a few minutes later and also made a story around the same time. Just thought it was interesting! 

July 20: Jack shared a story with Jake saying he showed him the trailer to Longlegs. Later Jake is seen with Nic at the pub. They were joined later by Jack. 

July 21: DM shares newsletter with the new Jake and Nic pic from the pub. 

July 23: Jake went to the movies again and I think this time Nic was with him because on July 25 Nic followed the company that made Longlegs.

July 24: Nic shared stories with her Derry Girls co-stars at a wedding. The first story she shares is deleted a few minutes later, only for her to share a new one where you can’t see the polaroid on the back of her phone. 

July 25: Jake posts photos with his Renegade Nell co-stars, Nic likes. 

July 28: Jake shares some photos taken in the last few days/weeks in his stories. Some were definitely taken by Nic imo. 

July 29: Nic follows two of Jake’s closest friends, Becky and Noé. They follow back. Nic shares a pic for Jack’s birthday from July 14. 

July 30: Jake’s show Renegade Nell is cancelled, Nic follows the director and shares a story saying “Nell Forever” 

July 31: Jake posts a new pic on his photography account and Nic likes. 

August 4: Nic shares a story of her French Toast breakfast. Was a certain someone with her? 

August 9: Nic shares a pic of a Scrabble board at a pub. 

August 10: Nic, Jake, and her friend Dank go to see a play in Edinburgh. She shares a story of Dani. Jake and Nic follow Julia Grogan, who follow them back as well as Louisa. Not sure if Louisa was present as well.

August 11: Nic shares a backyard pic on the same blanket she brought to the picnic date, wearing her Drink My Milk shirt. You can see a man in the reflection of her sunglasses. Looks like really short hair (let’s remember that Jake’s head is no longer fully shaved). 

August 13 : Jake follows Dani, Nic’s friend. We now have confirmation that he was definitely with them on August 10 when they went to see the play. Jake also shares news that his upcoming movie is having a world premiere at TIFF. Keep an eye out for September! Nic shares the song Bless the Telephone by Labi Siffre around eleven at night. Is our girl in love?

Late nights are when you found the most peace, living with three people who were still regaining their strength from a battle that left them permanently scarred and changed forever had you working around the clock, taking care of everyone but yourself. So when the sun went down and your family went to bed with it you stayed up, taking a few hours to yourself. Tonight was the last night you would have to yourself for a week. The remaining 3 hashira had decided to bring themselves and their family to your home for a week, having a family vacation in your home. It was special tonight, an extra night of pampering before endless work hosting guests and taking care of your family. After an extended amount of time relaxing in the hot springs a little ways away from your estate, you decided to relax in the back gardens. It was a clear night the stars were so bright, adding an ample amount of light to the garden you worked tirelessly on before the fight. Frogs croaked an old tune, one that had consistently lured you into the most peaceful sleep, but tonight it was a song that kept you awake, humming along to the tune. “Mom?” A smaller voice cut through the song, interrupting the melody and throwing you off track. “what are you doing?” Muichiro stepped out of the house, his kimono dragging behind him.

“I’m watching the stars sweetheart, come lay down” You scooted over on the quilt you were resting on. Allowing Muichiro to lay beside you. “what are you doing awake? You are always asleep by now. Are you in pain? Do you want me to make you something to eat? Tea?” You were getting up from the ground when Muichiro made a noise of disapproval, asking you to sit back down. “I just couldn’t sleep, no big deal. I’ve been thinking a lot” he lay on his back, looking at the stars. “Did I ever tell you about my brother? He reminds me of Sanemi sometimes. He was angry and rough on the outside, but he had good reason to be the way he was. He was trying to protect me, wanted to keep me safe. When we lost our parents he was angry at the world for betraying us as it had, but we still had each other.” You smiled at the boy. “You’ve had a very hard life, Mui. Your family did their best for you and each other. The world is a cruel place to the best of us. But you are here now, you’ve made it. Your family's sacrifices weren't for nothing.” The younger boy turned to you. “I’ve been thinking a lot. About what to do now. My father was a woodcutter but I couldn’t do that now, what can I do?” “Mui you can do anything you want now. Get proper sleep, and eat full meals. You don’t have to fight anymore, you can rest now. Be a regular 14-year-old boy. What do you want to do? Not what you think you should do. What do you want?” He sat quietly, contemplating what he truly wanted. He gave up after a few seconds shrugging. “well you got time to figure it out, for now just relax. Everyone is visiting tomorrow including Tanjiro and them for a party and then the Uzui’s, Sanemi, and Giyuu are staying for the rest of the week so just try to enjoy yourself. Also, I was told Kotetsu is coming in a few weeks once things settle down with the moves and everything. Now that they are out of work they’ve been moving out of the mountains and towards Tokyo I guess. It'll be interesting to hear about that. Maybe then they can finally work on Hotaru’s social skills. Find him a nice wife to ease him out” Muichiro giggled at the thought. He had carefully retold the story of Hotaru’s blind date failure. From what he had been told it was going well until the woman had spoken about the fact that swords and swordsmen were unneeded in today's society. Which Hotaru took very personally and subsequently ended the date right there. It was understandable but he threw a fit for days following the date and had worried the village chief.

“Yeah, hopefully, they all can live peacefully now” You nodded, settling further into the quilt as your eyes perused the endless stars in the sky. “Hey Mom” you hummed, turning towards him. “do you think it’s going to be okay now? That everyone will know it's safe?” “Well, I’m not sure. I figure it’ll take some time before everyone knows they don’t have to worry anymore about the demons. Eventually, I think there will be a time when people completely forget demons were a thing and it’s all thanks to you guys. You did this. I’m very proud of you, all of you. I’m so grateful I got all of you back home, I feel spoiled like a light was shined on upon me for being able to wake up with all of you in the house, alive and well.” Muichiro looked away, a watery chuckle coming from him. “Thanks, Mom” He shook his head, moving to get up “I’m going to actually sleep now. Goodnight Mom” he paused after a few steps towards the house, turning around to where you sat watching him leave. “I love you, thank you for everything” With a soft smile the boy turned back towards the house, disappearing into the darkness of the hallways.

I am actually really excited to hear you say that anon because this ask, this post right here, officially marks the 100th post I've made since joining this site 3.5 months ago! :D (I know it may not seem like much to a lot of people (which is perfectly fine), but to me, this milestone would not have been possible without each and every single one of you taking the time to read my weird Bowuigi ideas & story and liking them enough to where y'all want to ask me questions, follow me, and/or are even inspired by me to make your own fanfic or artwork. 😊❤️)

So our story begins long, long ago (long before Mario, Luigi, and Bowser were born) in a far away place called the Mushroom Kingdom. And in the Mushroom Kingdom lived a kind, smart, and selfless princess named Peach. Now, to say that Princess Peach was good-looking or cute is a complete understatement. No, Princess Peach was by far the most beautiful princess in the entire galaxy. Hundreds, no, thousands of people from around the world would come visit the Mushroom Kingdom in hopes of getting the chance to see Peach’s beauty, even if it was just for one second. Men would try to ask for her hand in marriage, women would often envy her because of how perfect she was, and children would wish upon the stars every night to be just like her when they grow up.

But everything soon changed when multiple new kingdoms started to form not too far from the Mushroom Kingdom.

Now at first, Peach wasn’t bothered by the formation of all these new kingdoms. In fact, she was actually rather excited about these changes because this created the possibility of meeting new people, whether they were commoners or royalty (for a while, she had often thought about hosting a ball to welcome these new people & kingdoms in hopes of meeting her Prince Charming).

But things took a drastic turn for our dear princess when she noticed her citizens moving out of her kingdom in order to live at these new kingdoms.

And I’m not talking about one or two citizens moving out of the Mushroom Kingdom. I’m talking about hundreds of citizens.  

And that…that terrified Peach.

Because she feared that her citizens moving out of her kingdom meant that they didn’t love her anymore.

So with this new fear/realization, Peach started to make some…unsettling changes. Now at first, the changes were pretty small, like guards surrounding the Mushroom Kingdom’s perimeters, but it quickly got way out of hand when she not only started to refuse any kind of travelers from even entering her kingdom, but also required her citizens to have special permission from her in order to even step foot out of the Mushroom Kingdom.

These changes lasted for about 3 months before the Mushroom Kingdom citizens decided that they’ve had enough.

So in the middle of a dark and stormy night, all of the Mushroom Kingdom citizens joined forces and overthrew Princess Peach.

But the citizens didn’t kill Peach, at least not right away. They wanted to make her execution a big spectacle to show everyone that commoners are just as, if not, more, powerful than a royal when they band together as one.

But on the night before her execution, Peach escaped and ran away to a nearby forest.

Now when the citizens found out about the escape, they immediately began their search for the ex-princess. Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks, and weeks even turned into months, but the citizens would always come back empty-handed. It was only when the clock struck the 2nd year since Peach escaped that the citizens eventually gave up on looking for her because they figured that there was no way she could survive from just living off in the forest.

But she did and do you want to know how?

Because not long after she ran away, Peach not only found a tower she could live in, but she also found a gold rose.

A special gold rose that could heal the sick and injured.

So now that we have a really good idea of Peach’s origin story, the next thing is to figure out Mario and Luigi’s origin story (since you can’t have a Rapunzel story without Mother Gothel locking Rapunzel up in a tower for years).

Well lucky for y’all, I actually have a pretty interesting origin story for them as well.

So we start off the brothers’ origin story not long after the citizens pretty much exiled Peach from the Mushroom Kingdom. Now here, this is where they have two options: they could either turn the Mushroom Kingdom into a democracy, or try the monarchy approach again, but have two regular commoners become royals as a way to bring the royals and the citizens closer together.

It was a tough decision, but the citizens eventually chose the latter option.

And do y’all want to know who were the lucky chosen commoners?

It was two of Mario and Luigi’s ancestors.

So we time skip to hundreds and hundreds of years later where Mario and Luigi’s parents are now king and queen of the Mushroom Kingdom. Now here, life is actually pretty good for everyone. The Mushroom Kingdom has quite a few good alliances, the king and queen are beloved by their citizens, everything at that moment in time looked bright for everyone.

Well, not quite.

You see, one of the most difficult challenges the king and queen had to face was having children. Now, it wasn’t that they didn’t want to have a child, they really did, but whenever they would try to conceive, the queen just couldn’t get pregnant.

But on one winter day, life would forever change for the entire Mushroom Kingdom.

Because after countless attempts, the queen was finally with child.

But the kingdom’s happiness would only last for a few months because this is when a plague hits the Mushroom Kingdom.

The first to fall victim to the plague was an old farmer on one spring morning. Now at first, no one was worried about this. Everyone knew that the old farmer had a tenancy to get sick during this time of year, so it wasn’t anything to really be worried about.

However, what surprised everyone was when the old farmer’s wife (who had one of the best immune systems in the entire kingdom) became sick the very next day.

No one was as surprised as the farmer’s neighbor when she found both the old farmer and his wife dead just 24 hours later.

So as you guys can probably imagine, the plague quickly spreads throughout the entire Mushroom Kingdom. All the doctors did everything they could to find a cure for this unknown virus, but none of them were successful.

Things especially took a bad turn for the kingdom when the queen caught the plague 8 months into her pregnancy.

So immediately after the queen caught the plague, the king and the doctors went into high gear of finding a cure. Just a few short days after the tragic event, one of the doctors found an old passage about a golden rose that could heal the sick and injured. While the doctor was unsure on whether the rose still existed, the king didn’t care as he ordered his best soldiers to search for this special rose.

It took the soldiers about one week before they finally found that golden rose. And once they found that said rose, they rushed back to the castle to make the cure for the queen and for the sick citizens.

And after 12 long and painful hours, the doctors successfully made the cure and the queen and all the surviving plagued citizens were cured from the dreaded plague.

So two weeks later, the queen gave birth to Mario and Luigi. However, the thing that shocked everyone was that Luigi, the younger twin, had blond hair. While this confused, and slightly scared, the king and queen, the doctor quickly reassured them that the reason for Luigi’s unique hair color was because of the gold rose. The doctor theorized that the rose’s powers only rooted into Luigi’s DNA because only he was truly affected by the queen’s sickness. Why the sickness didn’t affect Mario, the doctor wasn’t sure.

This did not matter to the king and queen. After trying for years, they finally had beautiful healthy children they could love and cherish and the kingdom had two new princes. It was a wonderful occasion that no one could possibly ruin.

Except for one person.

So on the night of the twins’ birth, Peach broke into the castle and snuck into the twins’ room. She started to sing that special song she had to use before in order to use the gold rose’s powers, and to her surprise and excitement, Luigi’s hair started to glow. Without any hesitation, Peach carefully and quickly cut a piece of Luigi’s hair, but was shocked to discover that the cut hair and the hair piece in her hand turned into a dark brown color.

Peach was really conflicted. She wanted, no, needed, the rose’s powers in order to stay young, but the problem was that it was rooted into Luigi’s DNA.

It was at that moment that she knew what she needed to do.

Without a single hesitation, Peach kidnapped Luigi and disappeared into the night.

It wasn’t until a few hours later that a guard checked in on the princes and realized that Luigi was missing.

As soon as the king and queen were informed, they immediately sent out as many solders as they could to find Luigi and his kidnapper. Hundreds of soldiers scattered across the lands in hopes of finding the lost prince, but as weeks turned into months and months turned into years, there were no clues or leads on Luigi or Peach’s whereabouts.

But unbeknownst to everyone, hidden deep in a nearby forest was a hidden tower.

A tower where Peach raised Luigi as her son.

Choices Spread Kindness Celebration

literally i could be on my deathbed and i would roll over and start typing at the very mention of lynn/perez/amanda. they are my faves i have so many thoughts about them.. i’ve started to explore their dynamic a little bit in the longfic i’m working on, and as a result, every time i try to write something shorter for any iteration of the ship, my ot3 headcanons sneak in. i LOVE them SO much… and it’s all ao3 user doztoevsky’s fault for changing my brain chemistry forever

my favourite thing abt amanda becoming the new mastermind and ascending to john’s level (like kind of what she talks about wanting in her dbd lore) is toxic lesbianism taken to a brand new level. my second favourite thing is that i think all the potential new apprentices would have their own reasons for wanting to join her after their tests. for example, lindsey taking down hoffman to avenge strahm; which makes me QUITE sad but it’s also very sexy. refer to @lastnightonthecyclone’s tags here. or another example could be gabriela, who fits the bill perfectly.. i’ve thought about adding a second part to my gabriela/amanda fic because i love the idea of gabi surviving after cecilia and being a litttleeeee bit lost in the world. but with both of these examples, i enjoy that it wouldn’t be an easy sell; they both have plenty to hate amanda(/john) for, especially perez since her test wasn’t fair! the amanda young special ;) and there’s nothing hotter than begrudgingly coming around on someone you hate only to realize they’ve had deep complicated feelings for you since day 1 lol

as for lynn i think any aus where lawrence recruited her would be so fun and also so powerfully nauseating like POOR AMANDA!!! i can’t get behind the found family/jigsquad shit everyone jokes about (because they are so deeply and completely cringe and inaccurate and also i cannot be normal about saw, as evidenced in this ask) but i do absolutely love the idea of lynn and amanda having to work together AGAIN, this time because lawrence brings them onto the same case. johns last wish part 3948395, or whatever.

i also am a huge sucker for the interconnectedness of the universe, which works great for this stupid telenovela of a franchise where Everyone Is Connected it’s fine don’t worry about it or think too hard. except i love thinking too hard. like it is so interesting to me that all these characters are So connected, even the ones that never met. lindsey’s friend and partner killed lynn’s husband. lynn’s husband killed amanda. amanda killed perez (well. sort of). and amanda tipped off lynn’s daughter about hoffman which (presumably) helped perez realize what was happening, but eventually led him right to her and so once more amanda killed perez. they interact vicariously so much and so often, because it’s a small world populated by important Suspect characters, and i only wish that we had gotten to see them actually interact. sorry that paragraph got away from me completely. wait holy fuck this ask got so long i’m so so so sorry

the moral of the story is i fucking love these stupid lesbians and i’m Unkilling them all
