An unmade Gerry Anderson TV series will see light of day as new novel

An unproduced television series from legendary producer Gerry Anderson is finally set to materialise – as a novel! From the late 1950s through to the mid-2000s, Anderson created or co-created a string of iconic family adventure series including Thunderbirds, Stingray, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and Space:1999. One planned project, Intergalactic Rescue 4, was pitched to US broadcaster NBC…

Here’s something unexpected for fans of Gerry Anderson (Thunderbirds, UFO, Space: 1999, etc.). In the mid-1970s (around the time he was producing Space: 1999), Anderson came up with an idea for another TV series that has been described as “Thunderbirds meets Lost in Space”. It was never made (likely due to Space: 1999 taking up Anderson’s time before he stepped away from TV production for a while after it was cancelled, only to return in the early 80s with Terrahawks), but I guess his notes or whatever were recently rediscovered and have been adapted into a new novel.

Only a limited number of copies of this are being printed right now, so for the Anderson fan who thought they’d seen/read everything, this seems to be a nice addition (and goes along nicely with other Anderson-based novels including the novelization of the never-made introductory episode of Space Precinct (that depicted how Brogan and Haldane ended up at Demeter City to begin with), and the novelization of the “Day After Tomorrow” TV movie (which was followed by an original sequel continuing that story).

Big Finish has of late been doing audio dramas based on Anderson’s shows (Terrahawks being a prime example); it’ll be interesting to see if they pick up on this.

i'm not really sure what the main thrust of this post is, but this yj98 arc has been haunting me literally since I read it months ago, so I've put together a brief(ish) overview of the salient points and the questions it's left me with

(i hunted around and apparently Our Worlds at War, with Imperiex as the big bad, is the broader context, which i didn't feel like reading for this)

instead, they're going to be attached to a "sort of super medical unit" called the "paradocs"

the way they're persuaded to accept their role (instead of?? fighting on the front lines?? jeez kon) is to conceive of themselves as saving active-combat superheroes for their children they're leaving at home (creating an implicit distinction between those children and themselves, which i find sad)

yj is specifically a "search and rescue team"

with a civilian cissie king-jones as their qualified emergency medical technician (so her public persona is an olympic champion, actress, and volunteer veteran of an intergalactic war???)

is cissie the only one performing medical services then? do any of the others pick anything up from her, if these missions last long enough? (do tim and cissie bond as the only non-powered people they know going into a space war?)

Superboy Vol 4 #91: War Letters gives some context to this

(kon putting on a brave face!!)

but also:

even as paramedics they were participating in active combat, fighting off scavengers

the lack of specifics, the mention of the fact that he's met "a lot of interesting cats in the field," and of "things" he's seen—there's a sense that he's seen a lot but not enough yet for it to no longer be shocking. or, that what they're seeing is so savage that it never ceases to be shocking.

this also implies that they've met and rescued a slew of people from across the universe. does yj have intergalactic connections? do random alien soldiers remember this small group of earth children that saved them?

this panel also shows kon (and likely the rest of them) amidst recovering jl members. what does the broader jl think of this group of kids in an acknowledged war zone, seeing them beaten down like this? (it's unclear whether kon actually went and rescued kyle rayner here or is just helping him around the medical area, but there must be some sort of lasting impression from this)

they get diverged from their rescue mission and end up on apokolips

bart experiences death when one of his "scouts" is killed—this has a lasting impression on him (addressed later) and kon blames himself, since it was his decision to chase after steel that landed them here. do the two of them ever talk about this? (they don't in yj at least)

and after batman's betrayal of tim's identity to spoiler (rip tim being betrayed on multiple fronts)

i find it interesting that tim considers his state "a world of grays" in contrast to kon's "black and white" attitude. balancing a multitude of considerations is a "world of grays?" anyway, tim staring death in the face and admitting he's scared :')

and then tim gets to watch lil lobo die (he does technically come back but!) and says explicitly that another part of innocence he didn't know he had died with lobo. this can't be his first time witnessing a death given gotham's everything, so is it because this is the first time he's watched a comrade die (and so brutally too)?

we see that after experiencing his scout's death on apokolips, bart's been left with a fear of death strong enough to get him to leave yj (i don't actually know how this gets resolved?? it must happen in his solo bc he just sort of reappears a few mini arcs later...)

("i quit for a bunch of reasons ... but not a single one of them had to do with being afraid i'd get killed," cissie you're sooooo well-adjusted. she doesn't think bart's valid rip)

this is the moment where tim quits yj because he can't deal with their lack of trust (oof) and because“i don’t need the grief of young justice,” referring to everything else going on in tim's life (batman betraying his identity to spoiler)

(he'll lose them later on anyway—does it haunt him that he came back?)

(it's sweet that kon has someone he feels he can talk to and ask advice from)

Duo: An appreciation

Let's talk about Duo, the bizarre spaceman of the Megaman series. Duo debuted in 1996 with Megaman 2: The Power Fighters. Duo was however, conceived in late 1995 when development on Megaman: The Power Battle was beginning to wrap up. A sequel was already decided on and Capcom's arcade division wanted the sequel to add in elements they didn't have time to implement such as support units and rescuing Roll. They wanted to further give this arcade game its own identity by introducing a character exclusive to it. This character was envisioned originally as deliberately being a farcry from the Classic Megaman design conventions established up to that point: A character that would fight using traditional kick and punches as opposed to firing projectiles or charging at the enemy. This also applied to his design which originally were more human seeming than any of the Classic robots sans Roll. He would be towering at 3 meters tall and could detect signals using the red jewel on his ushanka.

The original design prompt was simple: He would be a character with the flavor of "Russia" in mind. This was because Duo was intended to be Dr. Cossack's (from Megaman 4 (1991)) own creation. This very concept was said to have blown away series veterans Keiji Inafune and Hayato Kaji when they first glimpsed the concept art.

Eventually Kaji (designer for Megaman/Rockman X, Bass/Forte, Treble/Gospel and X3's Nightmare Police) took what existed and gave an updated design that had a more overt Russian influence. Apart from the ushanka, the Russian wrestler archetype was done away in favour of something inspired by USSR militsiya while tastefully mixed with robotic elements that give the appearance of being constructed with spare parts.

While the design was finalised, the character's background wasn't. Taking inspiration from Astroganger (1972), Keiji Inafune insisted to change Duo's story and to use him in the upcoming Megaman 8 (1996). This way, there would be a extra incentive to play Power Fighters in order to learn more about MM8.

This new story instead reimagined Duo as something of a small time law enforcer for a unknown intergalactic organisation who fell to Earth chasing a criminal hosting a malevolent energy source. Duo himself is imbued with his own energy that helps nullify evil energies and sense people's energy. Because of this, he can sense the justice that lies in people such as Rock and even Bass. This is clearly based off Astroganger's plot of a wicked energy source falling to the peaceful Earth and Astroganger himself being a hollow mass of energy inside his metal shell.

This change of background to tie in with 8 ended up causing some confusion between the Arcade division and the Rockman team at Capcom. This is seen in how Duo's victory lines in Power Fighters (that were muted in international releases) have him boast about protecting the "motherland" and telling his enemies to calm down. Duo in TPF is depicted as a more relaxed and calm man compared to the justice zealot that 8 and especially other media adaptations portray him as. He comes close to realizing Protoman's connection to Megaman, and believes Bass has potential to do good, seeing the latter's threats as mere puff. Duo's bgm by Masato Kouda also reflects the difference in character, as he pointed out that his theme was composed based on first impressions rather than knowledge of the role he would play in MM8. His theme in TPF leans close to contemporary Japanese New Jack Swing and RnB than the traditional superhero anthem reminiscent of 70s anime Duo would be associated with in MM8 and Battle n Chase.

Megaman 8 tells the story of how he met Megaman and company, after being repaired by Dr. Light from his crash landing. After a brief scuffle, Duo befriends Megaman and even rescues him when he is infected by the evil energy, he leaves to find the other evil energy but asks Protoman to tell Megaman his gratitude.

Duo would later appear as a special unlockable character in the racing spin off Battle n Chase having the strongest stats. He was originally available by a JP-only event, but was unlockable in the game in later re-releases and international releases.

Duo later appeared as a CD in Megaman and Bass (1998) and hasn't made any major appearance since. Dr. Cossack would eventually have his own major creation, the non-canon and underwhelming OVER-1 in Rockman X-OVER (2011) who shares design elements with Duo and X.

Duo was also re-imagined in the Battle Network series with the 4th game released in late 2003. Here, he is instead a judge-like figure who destroys planets he deems to be pure evil. It is only through Hub fighting him that he decides Earth to still be salvageable. His design was changed to be even more larger and with a neutral colour scheme to give a image of a placid stone faced judge.

Past all that, Duo in the original Megaman series serves a unique purpose that many other characters in the franchise failed miserably at. A attempt at a design type that would be deemed "unconventional" yet also fits with what has been established. This logic was also used for the Deep Log triplets for Rockman X DiVE in recent times but as we can see, they feel like insults to Megaman.

Duo, unlike Droitclair, Erato and Angiedjeedkcnnjcwekofofeecw has a unique purpose. His designers wanted him to stand out while still paying respects to the MM world which was almost 10 years old, the idea of parallel justice (a phrase often used in MM8 marketing material alongside "ultimate justice") and that somewhere out there, there is someone else who cares about everlasting peace just as much as Megaman is a great and substantial idea. He is essentially what a more adult Rock could be like. Duo should not be a recurring character at all but his existence no matter how surreal and bizarre adds a subtle depth to the original Megaman series. During the period of 1994-1998, Classic Megaman was trying to expand itself more and more and a concept as daring as Duo's, like the other ideas brought forth then, is a painful reminder of how lazy current day Capcom is with every facet of the series and proven with how disastrous the results of blindly replicating the same philosophy has been.

Luigi: You realise they're gonna be a nightmare tomorrow, right?

Olimar: What? Non-blue Pikmin don't have any mouths.

Luigi: No, I meant the kids. They'll have way too much sugar in their system.

Hey hello everyone.

I have not been super active lately (I’ve been kinda busy and life’s been a little crazy) BUT

I won’t leave you entirely empty handed. You guys voted for an OC ramble so Here you go!!!!

Because OMG I’m feral and they’re all I think about! There’s a LOT of info because I love them, and want to ramble so if you’re interested there’s more below the cut

SO let’s start with the main 4 I’ve had in my brain since I was like. 15

Meet the U.F.O.S.

What’s U.F.O.S. Stand for? Universal Freelance Operation Specialists ofc. They’re mercenaries! Got a job you need done? They do it no matter what star system or how dirty the job!

The team themselves are considered high level fugitives by the intergalactic administration (but that doesn't stop them from causing more chaos) and without even knowing they actually kick started the rebellion against the administration! Some people call them heroes while others call them criminals.

As for the actual members of the team:

◇Zai is always looking to get into trouble. He's the wild of the group and despite his cheery demeanor he's actually quite unpredicatble. He was rescued from an underground intergalactic fighting ring (similar to underground dog fighting rings) and most of those violent tendencies carried on with him. He was also outfitted with painful upgrades and augmentations intended to improve his battle abilities. He often avoids physical contact with people he doesn't know well but is rather touchy feely with the rest of the crew (especially Ango who he loves to pester). He's still relatively fresh from the underground fighting scene and still battles with night terrors and violent tendencies as a result

♧Ango is a techy guy who's last nerve is hanging by a thread. He's the brains of the operation and honestly is tired of always being the smartest one in the room. Despite being great with tech he doesn't really know how to deal with emotions well. Growing up emotions were never really rewarded in his family so he struggles to embrace things that involve feelings. He's the straight man and tries to keep things on track even though he often gets carried away himself. Defensive, prideful, and grumpy He's the perfect target for Zai's incessant pestering. He isn't afraid to get his hands dirty and values hard work above all else.He's on the intergalactic administration's top 10 most wanted list due his dangerous skill with tech and a rumored hacking fiasco that caused an uproar in the administration. His body is soft and stretchy like an earth slug but minus the slime so he's able to slip through small spaces with ease.

♡Gidget is a care taker/ accompanying android originally built to guard and take care of a rich aristocrats daughter. She was intended to be upgraded to an older looking model when the girl she cared for grew too old for a doll like companion. Eventually taking on the role of a personal nanny/bodyguard.However, Under a new intergalactic ruling AI as advanced as hers were dubbed sentient and were no longer allowed to be used as free labor. Not wanting to have to pay Gidget (or treat her like a person) she was cast out with the trash. After a few years of scraping by and repairing herself with scraps and spare parts she was taken in by Captain Mars and repaired by Ango before joining the U.F.O.S. Despite her small and cute stature she is actually equipped with borderline illegal high grade defense weaponry and combat programs and acts as the muscle of the group! Her toy like design makes most people mistake her for a child companion bot to which she angrily corrects that she is an unowned sentient AI. She struggles a lot with her self image, solely due to the fact her hardware doesnt match her software. Forever stuck looking like a child's toy and underestimated. Eventually in a failed mission Gidget gets damaged beyond repair. Luckily Ango is able to save her personality and memory chips and transplants them into a new body made custom for her. The Team missed her terribly for the few months it took to rebuild her.

♤A notorious Phantom thief and criminal Mastermind, Mars has been avoiding capture for years and has become a master at all kinds of things. She's bold, head strong, confident, and a jack of all trades. She's the one who formed the U.F.O.S. and is the heart of them all that keeps the team together and everything running like a well oiled machine She gets tired of Ango and Zai's antics (so she says) but adores her team. Their health, and happiness is her top priority. She considers the team to be her own family and treats them as such. With a powerful force of fire and dragon like features She's a force to be feared and a sight to behold. Her only known injury being the scar over her left eye and her tattered left ear. It's this very same scar that left her having a hard time trusting others, being very selective about who she lets close to her. Her past before she broke out of prison and formed the U.F.O.S. is shrouded in mystery. All anyone really knows is that she has a sister back on her home planet and that they don't get along well.

I've had the idea for the U.F.O.S. Webcomic for forever but i always had trouble nailing down a few plot points. The one thing thats never changed is the bond of the team being the main focus of the whole thing. A group of misfits who fit together, and who care about eachother more than anything else in the universe.

Cybil and Sophie!!!!

☆Cybil Calaway

Cybil is a Half Siren, and lead singer and guitarist to a garage band in her home town (Here in the reference sheet provided she's 19). Unlike Sophie who attends the local private academy, Cybil attends the local highschool and has a reputation akin to the cliche "Bad girl" But the truth of the matter is Cybil is unapologetically herself, which a lot of locals consider to be rude or brash. She's a little blunt and sarcastic but has a big heart and cares deeply for those close to her. She's extremely passionate about music and writes all the song her band preforms. And despite her punk rock appearance, she's actually quite kind and often helps the members of her community wherever she can! She also helps her older siblings and her father at his grocery store.She has a total of 7 siblings, 2 of which have already moved out for college. One of her siblings is her twin sister Pheobe, who tragically dies in a car accident when they were 26. Cybil and Sophie broke up when they moved to different parts of the country but Cybil often remembers Sophie as one of her first great loves and the one that got away. After getting a degree in Musical composition Cybil wound up becoming the manager of her younger sister Aubrey's pop rock band and lead the band to great success! She and Aubrey both took a couple of years off from touring with the band to grieve Pheobe (and for Cybil to adjust to now taking care of Pheobe's daughter, Allison)

♡Sophie Delavigne is A rich werewolf girl who's a bit of a goody two shoes (She's 18 in the reference sheet).Except when she's with Cybil.

Despite being the poster child for a perfect, preppy, rich daughter, Sophie actually struggles a lot with identity issues. Having done whatever her family wanted of her growing up, now in her senior year of highschool she's in a panic trying to figure out who she is and what she wants to pursue in college. Upon meeting Cybil she slowly begins to find herself and enjoys the person she is when they're together. With Cybil's help Sophie realizes she wants to become a writer and possibly run her own publishing company!

Sophie has always had a friendly rivalry with her older sister Solene, and during their college years they competed to try and be named the next head of the family. Somewhere along the line Sophie gave up the competition to instead focus on her studies and personal goals, which is what lead to her sister taking over her father's company. After college Sophie slowly worked her way up the ladder. She was extremely upset when her father bought out the company she worked for (and she believes any future promotions will be her father's doing).

In my original idea for the webcomic they met in their senior year in highschool only to break up when they move to different colleges and then reconnect about 9 years later

DC Comics has announced a “Dawn of DC” crossover event spinning out of Tom Taylor and Nicola Scott’s Titans run. Titans: Beast World hails from writer Tom Taylor and artist Ivan Reis. The series will also connect into Titans and Nightwing. The “Beast World” storyline will kick off, though, in Tales of the Titans #4 (on sale on October 24, 2023) from Andrew Constant and Brandt & Stein as Beast Boy deals with his own crisis following the events of Dark Crisis.

some more rottmnt Star Wars Au cause I can’t stop thinking about it: (this time about some of their “antagonists”)

The two Foot clan leaders being in charge of the planet where the turtles live and being tasked with stopping them (as in Kallus with the Ghost crew in the first season of Rebels).

Cassandra is obvious the very enthusiastic recruit under their charge who’s determined to capture them and prove herself to the higher ups (she is a fan of Inquisitor Shredder from what she’s heard). She’s been trained from a young age and they got MAD skills.

(She gets her redemption arc eventually, gotta have that Casey/April enemies-to-friends-to-lovers amirite)

Big Mama holds an intergalactic (illegal) fighting ring. Splinter didn’t know this when he first met her and trusted her, only to find himself captured and forced to fight (like in rottmnt).

This one time, Mikey and Donnie got caught by slave traders and accidentally found themselves in her fighting business. Rescue mission ensued and lets say Big Mama is delighted to know about 4 little force sensitives by name and affiliation. (Wanted posters <3)

Hypno and Warren are smugglers and they have it out for the turtles because they accidentally ruined a couple of their deals. Lots of fun shenanigans.

The Mud Dogs are a literal space gang that Raph accidentally ends up infiltrating when a mission goes wrong (he got on the wrong ship in the confusion of blaster fire, with the crates they’d been trying to steal from the empire, and um yeah. while his family tried to figure how to find him, he had a very interesting weekend)

The Kraang work really closely with the Emperor to exterminate every trace of rebel activity in their assigned sector. Ruthless, feared, they have free way to do whatever they consider necessary to ensure everything is kept under control. Lets say the turtles have a hard time fighting against them when they’re tasked by Mothma to work in the area and free citizens from their concentration camps.

Planetary Evacuations - There are several Multidimensional Spaceships that are on the Planet that are Immense, Being Larger than Entire Large Cities

There are several galactic and intergalactic multidimensional ships on this planet in densities other than physical reality, which are larger than entire large cities, although these ships are not limited by common three-dimensional space-time notions. These ships are currently on this planet (although many of them have always been coming and going here) for several and different reasons/objectives, they are: 1 - Monitoring the planet and the stellar seeds that are incarnated.

2 - These ships are helping the stellar seeds and the terrestrial beings who are ascending and who are incarnated to anchor the cosmic energies that are being directed to the Earth and are increasingly intense, mainly through solar activity, because if they were only the starseeds and ascending earth beings who are incarnated are the only ones to anchor these cosmic energies, they/they could not possibly support these potent universal cosmic energies that now descend heavily upon this world and solar system.

3 - These ships are also carrying out rescue operations for beings who have left their biological forms through what is understood as physical death / disembodiment.

4 - These ships are also monitoring negative beings that are incarnated and also the negative beings that exist in other levels of reality on the planet.

5 - The galactic and intergalactic ships are also providing support as if they were spiritual colonies for the disembodied, as the matrix and all its gears are already collapsing in the other realities/densities of the planet (commonly called the astral plane of the Earth). It is important to point out here at this point that a dimension has never been a density, as what you understand to be a dimension actually contains many densities or spectrums of light or vibrations, and as such it is not always correct to use the term dimension for try to talk (understand) other realities, even if these realities are more subtle. A universe can be considered as being one dimension, as there is a whole spectrum of light and vibrations within it that form a given universe. There are many universes or spectrums of light or vibrations that make up the cosmos and these spectrums of light or vibrations have been understood by you to be a universe or universes.

6 - Many Starseeds are feeling a deep call from your Galactic Families and Galactic Command, and some of you will be (or have already been) contacted telepathically to meet with your Galactic Families in places far away from the human masses and the big cities, places those that are usually in the middle of nature (generally special places where your cardiac vortex activates deeply). In these encounters, the materialization of ships and agents/beings may occur within the common light spectrum, captured by your biological senses (although your bodies are more subtle and at that moment capture more light spectra than an ordinary human body). 16 - The multidimensional ships are positioned/fragmented in strategic places on the planet, the same ship can be fragmented in several points of space-time. In the realities that overlap the three-dimensional reality, superimposed on top of specific energetic locations/vortices, these ships are found. There is a whole biosphere inside such ships, there is a whole vibrational spectrum of energy where different beings exist and act, it is as if there were multi-densities and multi-dimensions in the same ship.

Great Star Trek Rewatch - Enterprise S2

Enterprise Season 2 is up next in my Great Star Trek Rewatch. As in Season 1, mini-reviews will document my progress.

Shockwave, Part 2: Most Star Trek cliffhangers have weak resolutions, but I think Shockwave is better than most. It’s a little gross to have Hoshi lose her shirt in front of Reed. The floating head gag is pretty great. And it’s fun to see the crew take their ship back. 8/10

Carbon Creek: One of ENT’s finest entries. No critiques here, just a perfect hour of Star Trek. 10/10

Minefield: Romulans! Mines! Body horror! The visuals still hold up after 17 years. Not showing the Romulans’ faces elevates the tension. 8/10

Dead Stop: If it seems too good to be true, it usually is. Luckily our heroes cotton to the sinister repair station’s motives quickly. The ending is appropriately eerie; I’d love to see DSC or PIC reference the station. 7/10

A Night in Sickbay: Season 2’s first dud. I love dogs but Archer’s obsession is almost out of character for him. I also don’t buy Phlox’s ignorance of human-pet bonds, since he claims to have learned a lot about humans. 2/10

Marauders: ENT’s heroes do The Magnificent Seven by way of The Road Warrior. Action-y but not necessarily memorable. 6/10

The Seventh: A spy mission! Involving T’Pol’s past! Guest starring Bruce Davison! Should be awesome and memorable, right? Unfortunately, no, it’s the opposite. There’s a reason it’s 87 out of 97 at TrekRanks. 5/10

The Communicator: Another pre-Prime Directive episode done blandly. It’s hard to put a new spin on a sublime TOS episode like “A Piece of the Action.” Trip’s cloaked hand gag is great. 5/10

Singularity: What starts off as light and farcical becomes sinister. Not particularly memorable except for “Reed Alert,” and “CARROTS!” 5/10

Vanishing Point: Hoshi has a bad transporter experience. Shades of “Realm of Fear,” but that episode was more entertaining. Strong concept, middling effort in execution. 4/10

Precious Cargo: A glorified sex slave was icky in 1991, and the same role (the same alien race too) in 2002 is twice as icky. This attempt at The African Queen/Temple of Doom homage is just a misfire on all cylinders. Trip and Kaitaama have zero chemistry. 0/10

The Catwalk: The neutronic wave front was a clever concept from VOY, and it was fun to see it again in ENT. Instead of Irish villages, we have militaristic aliens trying to steal the NX-01. A decent effort. 6/10

Dawn: I liked this one better when it was a TNG episode called “The Enemy.” 2/10

Stigma: An AIDS parable that is still relevant, unfortunately. The fact that T’Pol suffered consequences from Tolaris’s assault while he got off scot-free still stings, but it shines a light on the bigotry still facing LGBTQ+ people today. 7/10

Cease Fire: While I enjoy episodes featuring the Vulcan-Andorian conflict, especially those involving Shran, I don’t get much out of this one. Suzie Plakson as Shran’s lieutenant is pitch-perfect casting. The plot line moves forward but otherwise it’s a dull outing. 6/10

Future Tense: An intergalactic, inter temporal mystery! Plus, Tholians, Suliban, and Daniels' temporal database. And the mysterious timeship is…smaller on the outside ;) 7/10

Canamar: You've seen one prison break episode, you've seen them all. I kept waiting for Zoumas to be revealed as some master criminal, but it never came. Kuroda was well acted, but it's just another forgettable prison break episode. 5/10

The Crossing: Possession by non-corporeal beings has been done many, many times by Star Trek, but this episode belongs near the bottom of the list. No randy candle ghosts = no redeeming qualities. 5/10

Judgment: Klingon judicial intrigue a la The Undiscovered Country, with a side of "Rules of Engagement." Kolos is a great character. Not much happens though; Archer and Kolos are on Rura Penthe for all of five minutes before an off-screen rescue. Glad to see Hertzler again. 7/10

Horizon: Finally, a Mayweather episode! Finally, more boomer action! Why so dull? It's not Mayweather's fault. It's just a paint-by-numbers family drama. Not bad, not great, just cromulent. 6/10

The Breach: A twist on "Jetrel" where Phlox is Jetrel and the guest star is Neelix. Unfortunately, it hits all the same notes as the superior VOY episode. The B-plot of Denobulan scientists is also a letdown. 4/10

Cogenitor: A gut-wrenching ending elevates a worthy reinterpretation of "The Outcast." Archer and Trip's final scene in the ready room is a masterclass in directing, acting, and editing. 10/10

Regeneration: It tries too hard to keep our heroes from identifying the Borg, but damn if it isn't entertaining. The opening scenes give the Borg the creepiness factor they've been lacking since First Contact, and the effects are top-notch. Just a rip-roaring ride. 8/10

First Flight: Top-notch guest casting, powerful back story for Archer and Tucker, and a thrilling conclusion. Here's to you, A.G. 8/10

Bounty: Ugh. This episode. Ugh. Archer's scenes with Skalaar are fine. T'Pol's decon scene with Phlox, and her early-onset pon farr, is just an excuse to get Jolene Blalock into her skivvies and drags the score way down. 3/10

The Expanse: This episode floors it from the jump and doesn't let up until the NX-01 clears the thermobaric clouds. This is one of my all-time favorite season finales, and my favorite episode from Season 2. 10/10

And with that, Season 2 of ENT comes to an end in my Great Star Trek Rewatch. Final score: 5.92/10. Highest score(s): "Carbon Creek," "Cogenitor," "The Expanse." Lowest score(s): “Precious Cargo"
