You know what's messed up? Even if I wanted to be a voice actor or actor or something (not saying I will, but hypothetically), I'd be expected to move to America to make it big since I'm Canadian (or in simpler terms, not american). Cash in by heading off to LA or NYC. And I hate that. Nobody should have to go to LA or NYC just to make it big!!! The US loves it though, because it allows them to steal everyone else's best talent!! It's morally bankrupt!! Someone should be fighting this corruption! It's awful!!

unpopular opinion: i prefer international film festival movies over blockbuster big-name movies.
one reason being the cinematography. something about the way film festival movies are directed and filmed are just so beautiful and gorgeous. it makes you feel like your watching a reel of short clips of someones life for a period in time. the most popular example of this is call me by your name. its cinematography and the way its just produced is just gorgeous and it never feels too much. no scene feels insignificant. usually with those films there a scenes where there isnt any dialogue but you can tell exactly whats going through that characters mind. theres also just a comfort feel of those films, they give off the vibe that theyre like warm and comfy and more intimate with its audience (the viewers) whereas blockbuster movies feel like theres a rigid wall between the movie and the viewer.
idk it could just be me but i do prefer them over blockbuster. maybe its cause i grew up going to the film festival in my city and enjoyed watching french films (i'm french).

yes, i understand that india chose not to submit rrr for best international film because they were hoping they’d have a better shot at best picture if they didn’t but that’s still bizarre to me because now rrr wasn’t nominated for either when it easily could have dominated best international film and historically, there’s usually at least one film from the best international film category that makes its way into best picture too (ex: all quiet on the western front)
so yes, i’m still calling rrr a snub because i think india snubbed it in a bid to win best picture instead and it didn’t end well
