Nico and Percy's dynamic through the series is eternally funny to me, because it's just. like.

Percy's having a constant mental struggle between his fatal flaw of loyalty with a promise he made to Bianca to protect Nico, versus his Big 3 kid desire to maim other Big 3 kids / Poseidon descendant urge to totally maim Nico specifically. He hates Nico so so much. He thinks Nico's annoying and weird at best, and creepy/sketchy when he's older. The only positive thoughts Percy has towards Nico are "He's Bianca's brother and Bianca was my friend and I owe her/He's Hazel's brother and Hazel is my friend and would kill me if I was mean to him," "He's a powerful asset and useful ally (if questionable)," and "He's kinda pathetic and I feel maybe a little bad about it." Percy has multiple occasions throughout the series where he strongly considers - and on one occasionally actually goes through with - throttling Nico.

Meanwhile, Nico is following around Percy like a lost puppy. He explicitly can never bring himself to even dislike anything about Percy no matter how hard he tries. He has a whole bit in BoO where he's mentally going "UGH he's so stupid BUT IT'S ENDEARING HOW DARE HE." He's totally smitten. He's making deals with his dad for Percy. He's making convoluted plans to help Percy stand a chance against Kronos. During the entirety of BoTL it's like he's playing tsundere - "I'm helping NOT PERCY SPECIFICALLY with this quest! Me helping Percy would be SILLY because I DEFINITELY HATE HIM." Then he proceeds to show up to Percy's birthday party to basically ask him on a weird date and spend the entire next book scrambling around trying to help him or protect him or impress him. And Percy could not give less of a shit.

Just. That dynamic is so funny to me. Percy is the founder of the Nico Protection Club in that he's the one they're all protecting Nico from and meanwhile Nico is throwing himself at Percy to the point where the literal god of gay love calls him out on it.

Israel's Issac Herzog Attends Dutch Holocaust Museum Opening Amid Gaza War Protests

The Dutch Jewish anti-Zionist group Erev Rav, organizing the protest with the Dutch Palestinian Community and Socialist International, said that while it honors the memory of Holocaust victims, it could not stand by while the war in Gaza continued.

Human rights group Amnesty International put up detour signs around the new museum to direct Herzog to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. 

The museum in Amsterdam showcases stories of some of the 102,000 Jews who were deported from the Netherlands and killed in Nazi camps. It also chronicles their structural persecution under the German World War II occupation before the deportations began.

The protest leaders emphasized they were against Herzog's presence, not the museum and what it commemorates. 

People demonstrate on Waterlooplein against Issac Herzog's presence. The demonstrators shout slogans such as 'Free Palestine' and 'Never again is now'. Many people carry Palestinian flags. A representative of the Jewish organization Erev Rav emphasized in a speech that there are no protests against the museum. “We are happy that the museum is there. But how is it possible that such a sacred place as the Holocaust Museum is used to normalize genocide? We are here to say: not in our name.”

And here it is. The moment Izuku puts on the Hero Deku mask. It wouldn't necessarily be a problem if Izuku had any sense of moderation. Having a professional persona in a field like heroics makes sense and quite frankly it's something the HPSC is testing for in the provisional licensing exam. But Izuku always gives it his all and only values himself in terms of his ability to be a hero, so he refuses to take off the smiling hero mask. So for the next several arcs, Izuku does his best to suppress all of his negative emotions.

It's also interesting the flip the switch language Izuku used here is similar to how he thought of learning Full Cowling for the first time...

On todays edition of headcanons about my blorbs, Altair got really into learning new languages when he was a kid (he learned to stop talking about it, but he still finds them interesting), but anyway, he knows the basics of dozens of languages and is proficient in 5 languages not including Arabic

he also appears to be dating vincent d'onofrio's daughter which is sO cute, the mag7 fam lives on 🙌 (she is gorgeous btw. and I don't think this is like a 'scoop' or private info or anything lol, I asked if he had anything going on at tiff that day and he was very openly like 'no only next week, today I'm just supporting her!)

(also the context for All This is my gentleman friend is a journalist and i joined him at TIFF for the weekend and basically larped as a famous person all weekend lol good times. weekend was crazy but this part felt the most relevant to tumblr)
