Shadow waved at the air around her as if to shoo away the notion that he was keeping her. The shadows whispered to her about the fiddling. This was apart of her job and she would serve one at a time. "Don't worry about it. I'll just put medium on the burger. If you decide that's too cooked or not cooked enough just tell me and we'll sort it out," she placed the order for him. She caught of of the other patrons giving him a look and shot one of her own at them. They quickly looked away.

"I'm gonna check on the other customers, but you need anything, the name's Shadow. Just call me and I'll come by," She told him with a friendly smile. Then she checked in the patron that had waved her over. He was nervous. She reassured him in low tones and offered to get him a refill of his 'wine', which he'd accepted. She went to the back to grab it and came back with it in a glass for him.

Shadow took a second to take in his appearance. He’d clearly been working. Something about it struck a chord in her head but she hadn’t placed why yet.

“I’ve got a few. Do you have any kind of… taste preferences?” She asked, unsure of how else to put it. She didn’t want to outright ask if he was a supernatural being that preferred a cup of blood or some other weird questionable thing they have in the back. If he answers in some human way, it still helps her point towards a good drink so it worked.

Adam thought for a bit, “ um..normal stuff..I guess,” he shrugged unsure how to answer that knowing no one but a very select few knew he was part alien, but most of his appetite did consisted of the more human meals, steak and things like that,” I know I don’t like bitter drinks, if that helps anything, actually, I’d prefer soda if you lot have them.”

Soda. Normal, for the most part. Didn’t completely strike him of the possible supernatural list, but made her still be cautious. She could work with that.

“Sure, we got soda. We also make a mean rum and coke here butt if you don’t want alcohol just the soda is sold as well,” Shadow informed him, grabbing a glass to put whatever drink he chose into.  

“ Thank you, but alcohol doesn’t sit well with me, so just the soda please,” Adam told her,” and uh what types of food do you lot have?” He asked as he looked around having an off feeling though he sorta chalked it up to having an exhausting day.

 Wrong Boy Who Lived Week is a week about this beloved, self-explanatory little trope - the Boy Who Lived / The Prophecy Child being incorrect!

 Whether Harry is the BWL and no one knows, or he’s the Prophecy Child but the BWL is genuinely someone else, or maybe they think it’s Harry and it’s not; this week is all about secrets and subverting expectations!

 If you want to read some cool stories in the trope, might I suggest a starter pack of Sarcasm & Slytherin by AnonymousMagpie, Yo Dawg by RelenaDuo, the Harrison Gaunt Series by Sandra_Taylor, A King of Sinners and a Queen of Saints by Purplemango and RyuukTheHatter, For The Greater Good Verse by lucky_katebishop, A Rose By Any Other Name (Will Still Prick Your Finger) by InTheShadows, Sybillance by Aspionage, Dumbledore’s great mistake by shineyma, and Carve a Smile Upon My Face by Satine_Ainsel? These are not all of them, not even all of the big names, but they are my favorites. There’s one missing because I can’t find it, just know they’re amazing.

 The “basic tropes” included in a WBWL recipe are a Gryffindor Twin (who might be a prat), a Slytherin Harry, bad dumbldore, living-but-bad-parent-potters, and a family having trouble reconnecting. But! That’s not the only way to do it! There are THOUSANDS of ways to do it, whether following the recipe or making your own.

 While many WBWL stories double as twin aus, there are some other fun examples, like Tony Stark - The Boy Who Was Not Attacked as a Child by WombatRat, Seven Months Away by Disorganizedkitten, Switched by PseudoLeigha, Sohpie Roper by Glacilumi, the kids who chose themselves by dirgewithoutmusic; the core of the Wrong-Boy-Who-Lived trope is that Voldemort’s Vanquisher is not who the world expects, and that leads to misconduct that may or may not doom the world. Sometimes Voldemort’s Defeat comes out of left field. Sometimes it’s avoided.

 Always, it’s very interesting.

So, I've given you much ado, but let's get to the meat of it!

There was no reaction at first. The shadows remained as stiff as always. In the distance, the shrill sound was still going for a few more seconds. Then it stopped. Almost immediately, a shadow started squirming. It was small, trying not to be noticed by anyone but Brittany. After a moment, it was able to form an arrow, pointing in the direction she desired. Several other small arrows formed along the path. Another small shadow created something that was akin to lips and a hand doing the shushing motion.

Shadow kept her breathing to a minimum. She heard footsteps go by. They were still looking for her. They hadn’t entered the building nor had they spotted her. Her vision was swimming a bit. The sound disappeared, but the shadows were slow to do anything big. They whispered something, but it was too quiet for her to hear over the ringing in her ear.

As Brittany had been getting the kids ready for bed she had gotten a bad feeling something was happening with Shadow, she was trying to not show it knowing all the kids would pick up on it and want to help. She had just walked out of the twins’ room and was going to check on Static when her phone rang, making her jump a little as she wasn’t expecting it, she saw who it was and quickly answered it,” hello, are you alright?” She asked.  When there was no answer she kept it on, she told Static she needed him to keep the house locked up and not to answer it for anyone but her with their code phrase and that she would be back. She then grabbed her bag double checked she had everything she keeps stocked in there and left the house,” I’m coming Shadow, hang in there,” she whispered as she ran looking at her phone seeing where her friend was.

This was the first fic: soulmates AU and iirc you got two names written on you, one was your soulmate and the other was like your nemesis, but you didn't know who was who, and Harry had both Draco and Tom riddles names, I remember there was also a tag for Harry Potter/Tom Riddle romance in it too, but endgame Drarry
