When the school year came around Carmen had gone from the girl who spent lunch in the library to sitting with the cool kids all because she had become "hot" according to her peers.

They joined the cheerleading squad that year - something that she would continue into high school all the way til she graduated.

Had a mean girl streak from 8th through some of 11th grade before growing out of it. Even though to this day she still loves some good gossip and if she doesn't like you isn't above starting a rumor

Left town after graduation and went to college for two years after dropping out

Got her realtor's license

At 22 wound up married to a guy she just met after a girl's trip to Vegas and one too many drinks.

After getting bored of her realtor job she quit and moved onto the next thing.

Has had several other job ventures such as owning a mobile used bookstore, which turned into a mobile pet grooming business, sold handmade jewelry on Etsy.

Eventually got her license to be a massage therapist

They wound up back in Huntsville a year ago and currently is living at the commune

For those that need or even just want it she provides at home services as a massage therapist as well as setting up a booth at the Trading Post sometimes for quick and easy sessions (Think the kind you might get while waiting around at the mall or airport)

Basics

At the start of the series, Carmen is 48

Carmen has thick black hair that she usually wears in a bun under her hijab-like headcovering. She has brown skin, amber eyes, a curvy figure, and is about 5'5.

She's lesbian.

Despite being Alii, Carmen does not have any powers.

For all intents and purposes, Carmen is human, just from Alium. Specifically, she has descent mostly from Sector 3, with 8 on her father's side, but grew up in Sector 9.

Character/Personality

Carmen comes across as very cold and rude, and to be fair she is. She doesn't particularly like interacting with people, and finds herself frustrated more often than not. She likes doing things her own way, and is particular about everything. She's organized and bossy, and tends to get irritable if things aren't perfect (which they never are).

Carmen doesn't have a lot of time for interests, and when asked if she has any hobbies she will usually say organization. To be fair, she does like doing it, but she has a tendency to over-organize everything, even if it doesn't need to be. In reality, Carmen actually doesn't mind reading, and will occasionally still open a nice book in the rare moments she allows herself downtime.

Carmen's main interest is science, but characteristically it's about perfecting it. She knows there's more to Alii powers than meets the eye, and she's determined to prove it to perfect the system. That means studying potential subpowers of existing powers, finding connections in different powers, identifying potential new powers, and overall improving the structure of the power system.

There's more to Carmen than meets the eye. Yes, she's cold and rude and has a hell of a temper, but deep down she has the kind of loyalty that most won't find possible. She's deeply devoted to those she has cared and does care about and wants to make things right, and she's doing the only thing she knows how to do in order to complete that.

Other Notable Things

Carmen usually dresses professionally with dull colors + some pastels. She wears wire-thin glasses as well.

Carmen is an only child and was raised by her maternal uncle, who is a bigot that hates Alii without powers.

Carmen's best friend is Jedi, though her relationship with Atsila McLain, the deceased leader of their organization, was important in a deeper sense.

as the youngest sibling, carmen was absolutely doted on by her mother and her siblings growing up and she loved it. she adored the attention and loved being around her family, being treated as their little princess. this trend continued even as she got older, even with how much her mother was working and how often her older brother wouldn't be home as both separately tried to do their best to take care of the family.

while carmen was in school, she met her first boyfriend, nate. he was everything to her, and the two were the "ideal" couple with nate being a star quarterback and carmen the captain of the cheer team. after high school she even moved in with him, and he helped her start her baking business, something she'd always been passionate about.

behind the scenes, though, things weren't perfect like they seemed -- nate had always been a little insecure, but after high school it escalated quickly into him becoming controlling, demanding to know where she'd been when she got in a little too late after being out with her friends, or demanding to look through her phone when he was convinced she was cheating. eventually that escalated to physical violence, though carmen did her best to hide it from the people around her.

one day, her mother expressed her concern that santiago hadn't called them recently after having gone to huntsville to seek out his ex, cole. carmen jumped on the opportunity to go looking for him, eager for at least a temporary escape from her situation -- though of course she never could have expected that the "temporary" escape would be a very permanent one.

The definition of being the "mom friend". Carmen is the very embodiment of what it would be like sitting next to a warm fire on a winter's night. She's very warm and accommodating, armed with a friendly smile and always willing to lend a helping hand or an ear to anyone in trouble. This does backfire on her sometimes, accidentally putting her trust in the wrong people. While she is a sweet and helpful person, that doesn't mean that Carmen is a complete pushover. She'll try her best not to antagonize others however, she is prone to being passive-aggressive if you've tried her patience enough. She's very confident in her abilities, though you'll never hear her brag about them.

She has her bachelor's degree in nursing.

Carmen loves spicy foods. The spicier the better.

Hi im mak! I go by she/they. I made this blog for my punchout hyper fixation that i suddenly got.

Should just get this out of the way, i have autism, and while it's pretty low it still effects things that i do, such as over explaining or random mistakes such as obvious spelling.
