i’ve been re-listening to astonishing tales of the highly improbable and it inspired me to draw what i think the august sky playhouse (and the area of level 5 surrounding it) looks like! i took a lot of inspo from those old super uncanny video games and 3d animations, and the “out of bounds” areas in video games as well.

season 3, titan’s curse; nico and bianca just got to camp with the hunters. percy and bianca are talking about nico, and the camera cuts to a short scene of him meeting another camper - a blonde, curly-haired, freckled child with a bright smile

throughout the show from then on, we see this kid every once in a while in the background at camp - mostly hanging around the infirmary - and we get used to him, like “oh there’s that regular background character again”

then we get to season 5, the last olympian. annabeth has just gotten stabbed by the poisoned knife and we’re going crazy over the “no one touches her” scene. annabeth is carried to the hotel they’re using as a base, percy collapses the bridge, all that happens. when percy goes to find a healer to help annabeth, he grabs the blonde background character we’re so used to seeing, and we realize

we’ve been seeing him all this time and never realized.

maybe we get another scene showing will trying to comfort austin and kayla in the background after the battle is over, maybe we get a scene where will and nico see each other and catch up a bit. maybe we don’t see him again until they get back to camp

i just think it would be fun if they did that
