I was asked by another Cassie if I had a fandom pet peeve and my response was:

I try not to split our fandom more than it already is, but I get frustrated when OT5 fans state that OT2 was less successful and matters less than OT5. Usually, these types of fans also bias Jae or Su and continue to refer to them as TVXQ members.

I honestly do not care if you are OT5, OT4, OT2, whatever you want to be. But I do take offense to statements of complicit bias and the blatant disregard for the situations of the past.

In my eyes, you cannot say that Jaejoong and Junsu are still members of TVXQ in the year of our lord 2024. They WERE members in the past, of course. But now they are not. They have not been a part of TVXQ since 2010.

As for OT5 being more successful - I mean, in some ways that is true for both sides of the coin. I think their impact as a kpop group in S. Korea was biggest when they were five members. Yet, in Japan, the duo did better than OT5 overall. So I do not think we can explicitly state that OT2 TVXQ were unsuccessful - they still had #1 hits in both Korea and Japan after the split and are still considered kpop royalty.

So yeah. That's my general response. I like to think of TVXQ in eras - there has been an OT5 era, and since 2011 we've been in the OT2 era. This allows me to move on past the split and respect both iterations of the kpop group I've adored since 2004.

I think we would all be happier if we all accepted that any means of partaking in fandom is societally "weird." writing rpf is "weird". streaming is "weird." spending hours a day watching content is "weird." commenting "I love u" on a post made by an intern pretending to be an idol is "weird." watching someone speak in another language that we don't understand for over an hour because we didn't want to miss the live is "weird." I cannot stress enough how normal doesn't exist. as long as we arent hurting people then we should be allowed to do as we please

i don't think it's bad at all!! i actually really adore the colors, the blue + yellow is very nice! it has nice contrast! also, everyone has different taste in what kind of theme they like! i'm also a visual arts major + graphic design minor so i spend a lot of time learning how to make things look visually pleasing which does make a difference i think?

if you want to be very picky about your theme, which you don't have to be, i think that the only thing that i personally would change is the second picture you have in your pinned (if that's something you're counting as part of your theme) solely because it is so neutral and desaturated in color, so it doesn't blend in with the other images you're using (which are generally more warm in tone). you could either find a new picture with warmer tones or you could edit the photo by upping the "warmth" setting! this should be able to be done in your photos app, ik for sure it can on apple iphone, but it's a basic photo editing setting so it should in any built in photo editing on your phone! but that's all! i really like the dividers you chose and the overall vibe + again, i love the colors i think they're nice and unique!!

people grilling idols for their performances is so silly to me. go ahead practice singing and dancing for 14+ hours a day, get little to no sleep, have a concerningly strict diet, constantly be surrounded by people, constantly be on camera, and have no freedom. get up on stage and sing live while doing intense choreo in front of a crowd of people and cameras. make sure you dont make a mistake though! or else thousands of people could discredit your hard work and call you untalented! i get that it's their job but people have likely already criticized them for the same exact things you're trying to point out. why not just refrain from posting about it and focus on yourself! <3

Literally canonically we only see her give him maybe one or two drinks the rest of the time he's drinking with EVERYONE? and we have seen buck belligerently drunk and he was not that there. I also find this crazy because when he retracted consent LUCY LET HIM? Like i feel like some of u guys just have this deep need to villify every woman that comes into contact with eddie and buck and its weird. Some of u guys have some real internalized misogyny to work through brother. Buck cheated. Its okay. Buck could punch an old lady in the head and i promise i wouldnt gaf. But some ppl just HAVE to have buck be perfect and pure so they just make up the worst shit they can about the 911 women its so strange and baffling

something i love about joining new fandoms are the usernames that the fans create. like to me its just so endearing that someone would spend time to create these unique little monikers that represent their interests so well URGH people are so cute sometimes

GET READY FOR MORE VERY SPECIFIC TIER LISTS!! (and unnecessary rambling bc I can't shut up)

Last year I started with those "How would Kamen Rider actors fit into Yakuza" - Tierlists, and love doing them, definetly gonna do some more Toku ones like this in general, but not every series is doable imo

It's, I guess, a bit based on the character they play, but mostly on overall vibes?? Like the kpop idols in Kamen Rider Tierlist I made, it's all for fun bc I love to connect everything I'm obsessed with...

Yakuza actually had some actors I've known beforehand in new games (happened in Lost Judgment and Gaiden) which was really cool :D Shishidos actor from Gaiden actually played one of my fav characters in Chuzai Keiji, a drama I really love! Well, and I guess he was in Kamen Rider Blade- AND NOW HE ALSO WAS IN GOTCHARD. He's everywhere I go... But I'm not complaining‼️

Tsuronos actor I also knew from Chuzai Keiji and it's funny how both of their actors almost always come in double, I guess it makes sense, they've been in a super long running movie series for so many years (which I really hope someday someone will sub T_T I've waited years before for subs, I have patience...)

The Geats one is from last year somewhere and the Ex-Aid one from earlier this month but I never actually share them on here so:

I guess for every show the list categories are a bit different depending on how well they fit into roles, and if it's more Yakuza, Judgment or either way. I kinda feel like I subconsciously can see more Ex-Aid characters in Judgment because of the hospital setting lmao 😭 But either way, I really feel the vision for some of them!!

ESPECIALLY DAN MASAMUNE. I know his actors isn't doing much acting and more music (SO GOOD BTW GAHH), but he was born to be in Yakuza fr. But then, I feel like he could be a bit too similar to Sawashiro, because his vibes reminded me of him a lot, that's probably also why I immedietly loved this character 😭 And hey I mean ... Yakuza characters can often be similar kfhdjdh I wrote a whole essay about parallels of characters...

But yeah. In an alternative universe, he's 100% in Yakuza 😌🙏
