Hi! What order would you recommend reading the Sherlock Holmes books in. I began reading the books in order of publication a few years back, but never finished. I wanted to start reading them again but was wondering if I should just read them in order of publication again or if there is a better order, in terms of something like the order of when the books were set.

There are entire scholars who devote years of their lives to the question of 'what order did the stories occur in', shattering their minds against the cold, simple fact that Arthur Conan Doyle did not like Sherlock Holmes very much and couldn't be bothered to make the stories consistent.

THAT BEING SAID, one of the better known scholars is Baring-Gould, whose chronology is here. He tries his best to date the stories based on historical weather records, references, tone, etc. He also postulates that Watson had three wives, which I just don't buy; Watson married once and Holmes faked his own death for two years and he's NOT going to do it again.

I'm doing my own annotated chronology here if you wanna read along with Watson's Sketchbook! I'm trying to place stories where they occurred when there is an actual date attached, but I'm prioritizing a narrative arc for their relationship ;)

I also managed to get my hands on a 2nd hand doll to finally fulfill my childhood dream of doing a doll repaint!! I used glow in the dark paint for her eyes, but it's really hard to take a pic (but it works!). De-glued her hair and all that too. I am planning on curling her hair, but I still don't have curlers. One day I'll get to it....... maybe.......

Ace Attorney reboot where everything is the same but Miles Edgeworth’s is obsessed with FNAF rather than steel Samurai. And the Steel Samurai murder cases where the costumes play a huge part are in fact the suits in fnaf.

Thinking about the worst ways a Human partner could be exposed to the term “pon farr” and the ensuing conversation afterwards, and although nothing beats the canon of how Jim was introduced to it, this has been the worst scenario that’s funny to me:

Other Vulcan(s), maybe even a couple themselves, trying to be nice and because they’re so close to the other couple, they pull the Human partner to the side and are like “due to the nature of pon farr and the fragility of your human body, if you require assistance, just voice it” and so the Human goes over to their Vulcan partner to ask what any of that meant

And now this poor Vulcan not only has to explain the whole thing with pon farr, but also that the other Vulcan maybe just essentially propositioned them
