Book: The Royal Romance (AU)
Pairings: Liam x MC (Ella)
Characters belong to Pixelberry: Ella Brooks belongs to me.
Please note that my stories are not to be stolen or reposted on any other site. Reblogs and notes are welcome and much appreciated.
Summary: An AU based on the show New Girl (my favorite can you tell??) Just a collection of one-shots and shenanigans that allude to the show. This will NOT be canon, that means this won’t be in Cordonia and Liam isn’t a King. If you have watched the show before, you know they are in Los Angeles, California. Catch up on The Loft here
A/N: Finally posting something for @choicesflashfics this week and it’s my favorite AU that I’ve written so far. Prompt will be in bold.
A/N 2: It’s been a very long time since I’ve written anything - mostly because work has been crazy and studying related to work has also taken up a lot of my time. My taglist is very old so feel free to ignore should you not want to read this mess lol
Thank you @deb-1106 for reading through this a bit, I love you!
Ratings/Warnings: M - mature content; adult language; sexual innuendos; some overall inappropriateness because it’s the Loft 🤷🏽‍♀️
Words: 1215
Liam paced back and forth as Drake, Max and Leo followed him, all of their heads going right to left and right to left, and back again.
Leo broke the silence. “Bro, what’s wrong with you?”
Liam stopped and gave his friends and brother a confused look. “When did you guys get here?”
“Are you serious right now?” Drake stood and walked towards his best friend. “Li, why are you pacing the floor?”
“Oh, I …” he looked at the floor and then back up at Drake. “I want to propose to Ella.”
Everyone gasped, while Leo and Max stood from the couch.
Maxwell clapped his hands in excitement. “You are?!”
“How? Where’s the ring? When is this happening?!” Leo yelled as he hopped up and down.
“Relax, relax,” Drake hollered over everyone’s voices as he turned to his best friend. “Do you need help with anything?”
“I got her a ring already,” Liam pulled a black velvet box out of his pocket and opened it. “I’m just not sure when or how to do it. Maybe tomorrow?”
Leo snatched the box out of his brother’s hand. “Whoaaaa, this thing is fat!”
“Real helpful, Leo,” Drake mumbled. “You know Ella is crazy about you. Any way you ask her she’s going to cry.”
Liam ran his hands through his thick blonde hair nervously. “You think?”
“Good tears!” Max interrupted.
Drake nodded. “Really good tears.”
“Remember when we didn’t even think this whole Liam and Ella thing was going to happen?” Leo elbowed Max’s side.
“Yeah, we had our doubts.”
“Wait, what?” Liam’s eyes narrowed.
“You guys just kept breaking up and getting back together!” Max shrugged and looked to Leo for backup.
“I mean, there was the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre-”
“No, no,” Max shook his head. “I think it was the Comic-con Dump-A-Thon.”
“You have names for our breakups?” Liam retorted in annoyance.
Leo nodded. “It would really all blur together if we didn’t.”
A year and a half earlier
“You are so annoying in those little sexy shorts you wear! Just shut up!”
Ella’s hands were on his hips yanking him close to her. “You shut up!”
They began to kiss again, tongues tangling and curling together for a few moments until Liam pulled away. “Shut up and take off your clothes,” he pointed at her. “I mean it, Ella, shut up and take off your clothes right now,” he demanded as he pulled his own shirt off, kicked off his shoes and unbuckled his belt.
She huffed and began to pull off her jacket in purposeful motions. “Why are you so ridiculous and chaotic? You can’t even tell me how you feel!”
Liam’s eyes darkened with desire. “I’ll tell you how I feel right now. I want you,” his mouth collided with hers as he swallowed her moans. “I’ve wanted you from the moment you walked into this loft. Now take off your clothes, Ella.”
Max strolled down the hall eating a banana and stopped short when he saw Liam and Ella getting lost in each other in the living room. Drake, who was walking right behind him, bumped into his back and dropped his phone onto the floor with a clang. “Beaumont!”
“Shhh!” Max flailed his arms and pushed his friend back, shushing him as he went.
“I want my bagel, Beaumont! It just popped up from the toaster and if I wait too long it gets too hard,” Drake whined.
“Drake! It’s 10 at night and you’re eating a bagel?” Max shook his head and pushed him into his bedroom. “Don’t answer that,” he huffed and stuck his ear against the door. “Did you see Liam and Ella?! They were finally getting it on!”
Drake smacked Maxwell in the back of the head. “You’re listening to them fucking? And why are they fucking in our living room?!”
Present day
“Okay, we did not have sex in the living room!”
Drake rolled his eyes. “Well we didn’t know that, Li!”
“You two just went back and forth, kissing and then yelling at each other,” Max casually walked into the kitchen to grab an apple. “Like the time we all went to that speed dating event.”
“Why did you bring me here?” Drake hissed as his eyes darted around the room. “I knew this was shady as fuck!”
“Shut up, Walker, all we said was there would be good whiskey and you got in the car,” Leo snickered.
“I need new friends,” Drake mumbled as he wandered off in search of said whiskey.
Max surveyed the room. “Where are Ella and Hana?”
Leo shrugged. “No idea but that blonde over there has me written all over her.”
“That’s not how speed dating works, Leo!” Max grabbed his friend’s arm to keep him in place. “Where did Liam and Ella go?”
Leo turned his head and jutted his chin out. “They’re over there bickering by the entrance.”
Maxwell’s eyes widened. “Shit. If looks could kill-”
“They’d both be dead,” Leo finished as they both made their way to the doors to hear better.
Liam and Ella stood with their arms crossed as they faced each other.
“El, you liked kissing me. It’s totally fine to say that,” Liam whisper yelled. “I’m not on my knees asking you to marry me for God’s sake! It was a nice kiss.”
Ella’s eyes were like daggers as she stared at him. ”You were like a dog and my mouth was full of dog … milk. Don’t start with me William!”
The fact that she said his full name made him snap and forget about the people around them. “It was like a damn fairy tale okay?!” He bellowed. “It was the best kiss of your life! You have to take some responsibility, tarting around in those short shorts!”
Leo and Max snorted.
“Wait a second. Pause and rewind … what did you just say?”
Liam’s nostrils flares. “I am a man, Ella! Short shorts are my catnip.”
Present day
“You heard that?” Liam asked with wide eyes. “So much for privacy,” he grumbled. “It was a frustrating time for me okay?”
“It really doesn’t matter,” Leo waved his hand in the air. “You guys have been strong together and now you want to marry her,” he slapped his hands over his heart. “The real question is … who is going to be your best man?”
“That would be me,” Drake slid his eyes to Liam for confirmation.
“Well I-“
Leo cleared his throat loudly. “Excuse me, but I think it would be me, Walker Whiny Pants. I’m his brother.”
Drake’s face turned slightly red in aggravation at the nickname. “You’re out of your fucking mind, Rys Potato Chips!”
“What’s with the nicknames?” Max piped up from his seat on the couch.
Liam waved his arms in the air. “We have digressed so far down the rabbit hole. I just want to plan how I’m going to propose! Can any of you buffoons help me with that without arguing?”
“Alright, alright,” Leo yanked a large whiteboard out from behind the tv along with a stand and dry erase markers.
Drake’s eyes widened. “Have those been back there the whole time?”
“My room was full,” Leo explained with a large grin. “Let’s plan this shit!”

Sophia: You and Kate are having so much fun together. I can tell you were so amused watching the boys do karaoke.
Joy: That was hysterical.
Sophia: It's so funny them dancing. I died! I like that they had them doing some of the same choreography. I just couldn't stop laughing. They're boys forever.
Joy: James commits so hard.
Hilarie: Oh my god! Who was that guy on stage? Listen, we spent years, we spent the better part of our twenties singing karaoke in Wilmington and you know who never came? James Lafferty. Never! And he's all in this scene... hilarious! The dance moves? Who is that guy?
Sophia: It was so good.
Joy: He's never met a challenge, like a reasonable challenge that he's said no to. I think they just knew that they could write him anything and he would do it.
Sophia: And what I also really liked is you get to see-- we see James and Stephen's friendship so clearly in this episode and the way they egg each other on and you're like, yeah of course they went on and made "Everyone Is Doing Great," of course they're business partners. Look at them! They in this episode gave me a lot of like Brooke and Peyton and their lifelong thing energy. And that's a big thing to create between two characters who are newer friends on screen and it's sweet.
Hilarie: i was just gonna say, the bromance in this episode, I really responded to. I liked seeing the little boys and the big boys. We've had conversations about toxic masculinity. I think at a certain point little boys are allowed to have close friendships and it's adorable and we applaud it and they share their feelings with each other and it's so special and then at some point they're made to feel weird about that. And so they bottle stuff up and they don't do silly shit together anymore. And so seeing these boys play together was so sweet and I like that our show did that. I thought that Chad did a good job directing that. I like that he directed just like silly boy time. Silly boy time is my favorite kind of boy time.

Rating: M, drinking, adult conversation
Word Count: 1278
King Liam Rys, lounging at the lakeside with his closest friends, was enjoying a lazy Saturday afternoon at Drake’s cabin forest retreat after completing an 18-hole golf game in Applewood. Savoury BBQ ribs with later plans for a poker tournament was the plan for the night. While enjoying the guys’ weekend, his queen was attending festivities in Ramsford, making speeches and appearances with Princess Eleanor.
Ellie was excited that she was having a playdate and sleepover with Bartie, with Auntie Savannah and Uncle Bertrand for the evening. When the SUV stopped in front of the Ramsford estate, she gave her mom a hug and kiss and ran towards the front door with her personal guard quickly following.
Bartie opened the door just as Ellie got there and they both rushed past Savannah. Riley started to tear up watching her daughter, asking herself why she was suddenly feeling emotional. She has her suspicions, smiling as she started to plan how she would surprise her husband with the news. Starting to feel hungry, Riley picked up her phone and placed a dinner order with their favorite restaurant. Yes, another sign...she silently chuckled to herself.
At the palace later that evening, Riley awoke from a nap by her cell phone ringing. When she saw Liam was calling, she sat up quickly instantly regretting her quick response.
“Hi Liam!”
“Hello, my love, how are things, my queen?”
“I am tired...I was napping for a bit when I got home from the festival.”  She did not mention that she started to also feel nauseous and dizzy. She chose not to disclose that to him...not yet. They were planning to give Ellie a little brother or sister, and she was pleasantly surprised that she may be pregnant so quickly.
Liam playfully teased her, “did you eat too many sweets at the luncheon or have too much apple wine at the orchard festival? Hmmmm???”
“Haha Liam....no, I stuck to sparkling cider!”
“Well, I think you should spoil yourself tonight with takeout, a good movie and stay in bed.”
“Way ahead of you...my extra cheese supreme pizza will be delivered in about 30 minutes.”
“You ordered takeout from my favorite restaurant?”
“Of course, I wish you were here to join me, with Ellie away on a sleepover it’s so quiet here.”
“My love, don’t tempt me...” Liam, Drake, Maxwell, Rashad, and Leo had the weekend planned since last May before Leo moved to Monterisso. “I will be home late tonight.”
Liam felt a pillow hit his head, Drake mischievously grinning at him.
“OK Romeo, it’s poker time,” passing Liam a tumbler of scotch and a cigar.
“I gotta go Riley, I love you.”
“I love you too Liam, have fun.”
Maxwell bounded into the room, “OK men!!! It’s time for ‘Would You Rather’!”
“Maxwell, just sit down and finish the poker game!” Drake be-moans.
Drake, along with Leo and Rashad were sitting around the table waiting for Liam and Maxwell to join them.
“We can play both! I already picked 5 questions for us to draw from.”
“Actually, I wouldn’t mind a round or two” Rashad grinned.
“Ok, but I get to start off by challenging my little bro” Leo announces.
“....Max, bring that bottle of whiskey and some glasses before you sit down,” Drake sighs.
Liam joins the group and sets down the bowl with the game questions. Leo sits up quickly and mixes up the contents and draws one of the papers.
“Ok Liam, would you rather... confess to cheating on your partner or catch your partner cheating 0n you?”  When Leo starts laughing, Liam shoots him a ‘side eye’ and says confidently, “no to both! Why would I ever want to cheat on Riley? To think that Riley would ever betray me...would destroy me.”
Leo pipes up, “soooo, then you would rather confess to cheating? You must pick one.”
“Yeah...I guess so.” Liam shrugs and shakes his head picking the next question from the bowl.
“Your turn Leo, would you rather be gassy on a first date or your wedding night? Speaking from experience, it will happen on both!”  Liam laughs along with the others, including Leo.
Smiling widely, Leo says “obviously...the wedding night! The wife would already be committed to me by the marriage vows. Rashad snorts and evilly cackles, “I am sure Madeleine would appreciate it!”
Leo rolls his eyes, “that’s ancient history my friend; here is a picture of my lady.” Leo proudly holds his phone showing a picture of a busty brunette in a bikini.
“Ok, I’m next!” Maxwell selects a question for Rashad. “Would you rather know when you are going to die or how you are going to die?
“That is an easy one! I want to know when. There is no way I want to know how!
“So, let’s say you were told you would die tonight? Wouldn’t you want to know how it happens so you could prevent it from happening?” Maxwell shudders...
Drake scoffs, “What’s the point, Beaumont? You're going to die anyways, why torture yourself?
“Okay smartass, let me pick your question,” Rashad announces. “Go right ahead, I am done!”
Drake stands up, grabbing a bottle of whiskey and walks out the door.
“He needs to get laid!” Leo laughs.
The remaining four re-start the poker game as they wait for Drake to return. An hour passes, and they are still waiting.
“I think it's time to get Drake back in here,” Liam steps outside, closing the door behind him.
After 20 minutes go by, Liam returns into the cabin, Drake trailing behind him.
“So, what’s up Drake? I picked a question for you,” Rashad announces.
“Let’s call it a night,” Liam shrugs. I will explain things later.
*******
On the drive back to the palace, Liam pulls out his phone to text his friends.
“Drake asked me to convey his apologies for the abrupt end to our night. While he was outside the cabin, he found a note outside in his mailbox from his grandmother who passed last Christmas.”
Tumblr media
"He has always felt guilty that he never got the opportunity to say goodbye to her. That, along with the whiskey put him over the edge."
Liam sent the message off, noticing he had an unopened note from Riley.
“Just in case you are bored at the party...here is a little something I picked up.”

One
I'm stuck in my apartment thanks to snow so I also managed to wrap this fic up too but expect nothing further from me. This one has been a draft for at least a year
Warning: Major Character Death (:
They’re one. One person. One breath. One life. (Hotch/Haley)
Word count: 7k
Haley crouches down on the floor beside Aaron, trying to lift the unsteady corners of her mouth up. His eyes are open wide as he pants, his dilated pupils focused on her while his gaze flattens. His chest is a massive hole, sunken in like a drain. Blood pumps out and gathers, weighs down his lungs, fills his lungs. His breathing hitches, grated and raspy, as he lifts his bloody and broken left hand towards her. Lifting it as high as he can, just inches from the floor.
She’s clean of the carnage all around her – blood splattered across the walls, broken glass around her feet – but she is clean. The moment she touches him, blood slides between their fingers and Haley brings his arm closer to her, pressing their hands to her chest. His bloodied, broken hand weakly holding on. She sniffles back tears, leaning over him gently. Haley kisses his cheek, wiping the tears from his face with her free hand. “Hey, sweetheart.”
—---------------------------------
Roy Brookes inherited money from a great-aunt and opened a little convenience store. Jessica and Haley had been raised in Georgia until Roy got that money, and then he moved his family to Virginia, where he had grown up. There were lots of kids in the neighborhood but Haley’s favorite was Aaron.
The first time Haley met Aaron, they were four years old. Aaron was already in Kindergarten and could read and write his name, but Haley’s first impression was a dirty little boy hiding behind his mother’s sundress. His mother had run a washcloth over his face and hands but the dirt had prevailed, remaining dusted underneath his chin and under his nails. His father had tried to encourage him out but Aaron gave all his replies from behind his mother, wrapping the loose fabric of her dress around himself to hide.
He was smaller than her despite being six months older, already missing his front teeth, but still quick to smile, always laughing. He didn’t do as well with the crowd of kids as she did, so he mostly played by himself. Off on his own task as the other’s raged imaginary wars on one another. She liked his company, how he was both calm and yet capable of great chaos.
Haley spent so much time with him that she didn’t notice that everyone else didn’t like him. And they really didn’t like him. They excluded him on purpose, unable to say what was so strange about him, but able to narrow it down well enough. There was something inexplicably off about Aaron, something not quite normal. Haley realized it too, she could tell, even if she too could not name it. Aaron being weird had never bothered her, though.
Until one day the other kids decided that it wasn’t enough to ignore him.
Haley punched Robby Pine in the stomach, unable to even hear the words coming out of his mouth. She’d felt like a cartoon bull with smoke blowing out of her ears. Unable to feel or hear a thing over the burning anger rising in her. Her body moved on its own mission, stomping over to Robby and punching him so hard that he collapsed down on the spot. Unable to do anything but whimper and gag at the unexpected pain.
She told the principal he was making fun of Aaron’s glasses. Haley couldn’t remember what he’d said but she knew it was worse than glasses, it always was. But it wouldn’t matter anyway. Haley walked away with a new understanding of the world around her.
Roy had known in that instant that Aaron Hotchner was going to bring his life nothing but stress. Haley had always been the angel. Jessica was the sort to punch bullies, she had before. His oldest was a spitfire, not his youngest. But the moment Haley’s elementary school called to inform him that she had hit another student, he knew he was screwed. It was certainly some cosmic vengeance, his own hot-headed protective streak being passed down flawlessly to his daughters.
Haley refused to apologize and she didn’t feel bad about it at all.
The next damning of fate came when Aaron got pneumonia that winter. Haley went on a hunger strike, stubbornly sitting at the kitchen table with her arms tight across her chest, and her chin pointed away from the dish in front of her. She refused to eat until she could see Aaron. Breakfast was one thing, Haley puts up a fight eating eggs anyway, so they wrote that off. She’s upset her friend is sick. But she refuses lunch and even though her stomach growls as she looks down at the dinner her mother’s put in front of her, she shakes her head.
Roy had caved. Knowing he wouldn’t cave, Roy knew neither would Haley.
The hospital was too silent, too tense. Haley had only ever seen Aaron’s parents from afar. His mother at the front door with a wash rag, wiping him down before letting him come in the house. His father’s car pulling into the driveway, the black of his suit and the impossibly large shadow he cast in the last remnants of the day’s light. Up close they were different. Aaron had gotten his dark hair from his mother and it was his father’s grimace that he was mimicking each time he stopped to think. But she didn’t think that they looked that similar, too old and too big to look much like Aaron.
Aaron’s father moved first. Haley looked up at him as he shook her father’s hand, unable to see his clenched jaw and the tears in his eyes until he bent down to her level, trying to force his weak mouth into a smile. “You must be Haley,” he whispered. He’d moved his hand as if he was going to touch her, his eyes glazed, and the ache in his chest yearning but it fell back down. The soft tears pooled in his eyes dangerously close to spilling over and he cleared his throat. “He never stops talking about you.” He had glanced then to Aaron and Haley’s eyes had followed, and then stayed. “He loves you a lot, you guys are best friends, huh?”
She’d never cleanse the sight of him from her mind. Aaron had always been small, smaller than her, but he’d never this small. He was in pajama bottoms, the Superman ones she’d seen him in many mornings when she made it to his front door before he’d finished breakfast. It didn’t matter that they swiftly tried to keep her distracted, her eyes kept glancing back at Aaron. Haley was convinced he’d eventually wake up, he’d look over and smile, and she’d be released from talking to the adults. She’d crawl on top the bed with him and they’d play. But he doesn’t.
Things changed. The pneumonia had nearly killed Aaron, his parents had made preparations for a reality the doctors were fearful was soon coming. No one needed to tell Haley, she could feel it.
There was nothing Roy or her mother could do to comfort her, she wept and sobbed until her head throbbed, until her stomach ached, and there were no more tears to come.
Two mornings later, Aaron’s father leaves for work an hour late. Haley comes out to wait on the porch for the bus, from across the street she sees Mr. Hotchner and waves, but then she sees Aaron’s blue coat and green hat and shouts with glee, rushing over to them. Ignoring Jessica’s shout that they’re not supposed to cross the road.
Mr. Hotchner pulls her up on his lap, smiling between the two children. “He’s still sick, sweetheart,” he warns. Then his attention turns softly to Aaron, sleeping, with his face buried in his father’s suit jacket. “What’da say, buddy?” Mr. Hotchner asks, bouncing his knee to wake Aaron. “How do you feel?”
Aaron’s still pale and sweaty but once his eyes are open they focus blearily on his father. Mr. Hotchner rubs his back and Aaron lays his head back down on his father’s chest. His eyes still barely cracked open, fighting exhaustion to keep looking.
“Do you have a fever?” Haley asks, touching his head. Mr. Hotchner puts his hand near hers and she looks up, waiting for him to say, and nods her head in agreeance. “Does your tummy hurt?” she asks, pointing.
Aaron groans and hides his face. He’s old enough to know to use the bathroom on his own, just beginning to be trusted to shower on his own– and he can feel the huge, regressing steps he’s taken backward. Being sick made him feel like a baby, so many bad things were happening. He was embarrassed, no matter what his father or mother said. Only babies wet the bed, only babies have accidents.
“Alright little lady,” Mr. Hotchner stands and Haley takes his hand. “Here comes the bus, don’t slip.” He lifts Haley up over the steps and she giggles. He stands at the road and waves Haley off and Haley waves extra hard but Aaron doesn’t move, not even when Mr. Hotchner tries to get his attention.
Haley’s favorite part about Aaron’s house was the fireplace. Mr. Hotchner cut wood all year round to keep enough for the hard winters and each year, the warmest place to be was curled up on the rug in front of the fireplace. That’s where Aaron wanted to be as his fever came down, he was too weak to want to play. Just lay curled up underneath his blanket, not interested in eating. So Haley came to him. She’s content just to be there with him, to have her friend back. So Haley lay there with him on the rug, doing her homework and reading. She’d ask him questions about the rain cycle or the planets and he’d try to remember. By the end of the week, it’s as if he was never sick at all. Their parents watch them run through the yard screaming and playing.
Everything changes the year Aaron goes to middle school. He’d liked being in Kindergarten, teaching her letters she didn’t know, but then first grade came and Haley was in Kindergarten and they realized they would never be in the same grade. Recess was the most important part of the day and Aaron and Haley lived for it, and then middle school came. Haley felt trapped, like a little baby, while Aaron and Jessica got to go to middle school. And then Sean was born. Aaron stops coming out to play, he’s distant, and every time Haley tries to go over Jessica stops her.
He starts missing school. Haley tells them about it at dinner, and Jessica’s eyes stay pointedly fixed on her plate. Roy makes up an excuse and he shifts the conversation.
Aaron stops playing with her but he waves as he mows the lawn. Things change slowly, slightly. He talks to her on the bus, and listens more than anything, but Haley always manages to get a little something out of him. He talks about books and his new baby brother, but mostly about books. He’s reading, Jessica says he reads during class too, and Haley tries to lift his bookbag but she can’t, and he tells her that the librarian let him take out four books today. Haley can’t keep up with which book he’s reading but she talks to him about them.
One night Haley gets up, eerily guided by an off feeling, running down the hall and to her sister’s room. Jessica’s already awake, holding Sean and standing at her window. Jessica had been babysitting Sean since he was born, he loved her, but nothing she could do would stop his wailing. Sean screamed and screamed and Jessica held him, standing shocked, as she watched from her window down at the horror outside.
Mr. Hotchner runs out to the car with Aaron in his arms, frantically waiting for Roy to throw the door open so he can put Aaron inside. Aaron is completely limp in his father’s arms, head and arms swaying as he’s carried. The two men scream at one another, and Jess looks at her sister. Neither had heard their father raise his voice, neither had seen him behave as he does then in the street.
No one speaks of what happened that night.
Aaron returns, a white cast on his right arm up to his elbow, and a shiny black eye. He won’t tell her either.
—---------------------------------
Haley searches the crowd for Aaron’s crooked pirate hat. Her father waves at her from the aisle, a small bouquet of flowers in his hands. Her mother shouts her name and Haley can practically hear Jess grumbling under her breath that Haley isn’t looking for them, she’s looking for Aaron, she always says his name as a sigh, full of disapproval.
“Haley?”
She whirls around and finds he’s already behind her, “hey! I was looking for you.” Haley walks right into him, hugging him, and giving him the seconds he always needs to understand what’s happening. Hesitantly, she feels his left palm press against her back.
Aaron keeps the small flower he has for her protectively hidden in his palm, shy now that he’s standing in front of her. “You brought me a flower.” Boys had given her flowers before. Pink roses that smelled like perfume and purple lilies she’d pressed in books. But never a dandelion. She picks up the little flower carefully, brushing her thumb over the top. Haley could remember picking them at recess, braiding their stems together to create flower crowns. She wonders if he remembers this too.
Aaron looks away from her, blushing, “Sean gave it to me for good luck. I– I– …. you deserve more–”
Haley shakes her head, “no. It’s perfect.” She rocks up on her toes to kiss his cheek, her lipstick on his face the same shade as his flushed cheeks. The perfect gift from the worst pirate in history. “Now,” she says, “your acting skills, sweetheart, that’s another conversation.”
He shakes his head but he smiles.
Haley tucks the dandelion behind her ear. She smiles at him one more time and turns, finally answering her friend’s shouts of her name. “I’m coming! Just give me a second!” she shouts back. Haley turns back to Aaron and grabs his hand, “I’m doing Romeo and Juliet with the community theater. Will you help me with my lines?”
“O–Okay.”
“Good!” Haley releases him, the dandelion peaks out of her hair, “I’ll talk to you later.”
He stands frozen in place, his hand falling back down to his hip as it leaves hers. Sweetheart. He watches her skip over to her friends, turning away finally when their excited screams become too loud. Aaron hangs his head and slips through a side door, watching the floorboards disappear under his feet as he finds the familiar deserted halls of the school. His feet take him to his locker and he stands frozen in front of it, his hand half-raised to put the combination in the lock.
Sweetheart. He had called her that a million times. Maybe more often than her name. He’d called her sweetheart just a few hours ago, as they learned over their chemistry project. Oh, sweetheart, he’d glanced over at the math on her page, just copy what I have. He had been her math tutor for as long as they’d been in school together.
It just… nobody has called him that since he was little. And now there’s a big empty sucking hole in his chest. Pressing down on his lungs, creeping up his throat.
It’s pathetic. He puts his back to the lockers and slides down, putting his head on his knees.
A month later, he is shipped away to boarding school. His mother hadn’t looked at him since his father delivered the news. Aaron had broken down in tears begging her to give him another chance. He hadn’t done anything. His grades were fine. He didn’t do anything. If she could ignore him as he hyperventilated at her feet, sobbing for her, then she wouldn’t break now, not ever.
He cries and pleads to stay but his tears carry no currency, they mean nothing. There is no warning and Haley hates him for not telling her. But Aaron withholds the information from everyone, he can’t imagine they’d care, and he can’t face it. The news comes suddenly anyway, he has only one night to prepare his things. And he doesn’t tell Haley. They have only an hour and it’d only be wasted if he told her.
She’s tired, half-asleep on him when he finally moves. She has school in the morning so he helps her climb back down off the roof and back into her room.
“Haley.” He whispers her name from the tree outside her window, smiling when she comes back.
She opens the window again. “What,” she whispers back, “you’re gonna get us caught!”
“I love you.”
Haley blushes, “Aaron–”
“Shh,” he holds and taps his finger to his lips. “Shh, go to bed.”
“Okay,” she calls back, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
He hesitates but nods, “I’ll see you.”
—---------------------------------
When Aaron comes back he’s quiet, and never meets their eyes. Two months later Aaron and Sean come over in the middle of the night and Haley wakes to the sounds of the ambulances outside.
“My dad died.”
Aaron had always been tough but he wasn’t mean. Grief makes him angry. Haley has never seem him act so coldly. He stands alone during the ceremony and Sean grips Haley’s hand with all the might he has, never tearing his eyes from his brother. Aaron stares with a wide-gaze, blankly at the unturned ground, never at the casket, never at the minister.
“Runaway with me.”
Haley could feel something coming. His heart rate had picked up, she could hear it pounding with his fear. His arm felt a little heavier around her. “Where?”
Aaron laughs, and the sound makes her stomach twist, she turns her head up to look. To see the awkward too big smile on his face, the tears pooling in his eyes. The anguish. “Anywhere.”
Haley lays back, looking back up at the stars. A few months ago this is all they had. A shared night sky, miles and miles apart. She didn’t even know where he’d been sent, just that he was here one day and gone the next. Shipped away in the middle of the night.
There’s a real thrill to anywhere. Between them they could get away, anywhere they wanted.
“After I graduate,” she says, turning to look up at him again. “We can go to college–” Aaron sighs, shaking his head, annoyed, and looks away from her. “Aaron, please, I’m being serious.”
He sits up and Haley shrinks when he pulls away, pushing himself away.
“Aaron, I’m not– I’m not trying to say anything.” Her parents had been hounding him about plans for months. His own should be worried, but one couldn’t be bothered when he was alive, and now dead, only Aaron’s mother remains and she hasn’t seemed concerned since the day she brought him home from the hospital. And Aaron couldn’t stand the attention, let alone the expectations. The first was uncomfortable, the second foreign and infuriating. Together, they spun Aaron indignant, pissed to be suddenly noticed and lectured.
He’d graduated the year before her, got a steady job, and was staying home taking care of Sean. Which he thought was the right thing to do and it contradicted what her parents thought.
Haley leans forward, “I need you to go with me. You’re the smarty pants, who is else going to read my essays and teach me calculus?”
While he was at boarding school, the Brooks had stepped in. The morning after Aaron left, Jessica found Sean sitting in the driveway sobbing. His shoes weren’t tied and his coat missing. Aaron had always gotten him up. Always made sure he remembered to brush his teeth, found his coat, and made sure his clothing was weather-appropriate. Without any guidance, and without any breakfast, Sean had missed his bus. And he’d given up on the spot.
Sean needs Aaron.
“I like the University of Richmond.”
She watches him carefully. He glances at her and shrugs, huffing, “Richmond?” Aaron crosses his arms,“no. Can you imagine me in the city?”
Haley laughs and scoots through the distance, leaning into him. She crosses her arm over him, “they’ll turn you into a city boy.”
He huffs, “no.”
“Yes,” Haley argues, “you’ll be wearing loafers and suits in no time.”
“Over my dead body.”
—---------------------------------
“No!”
Jess pounds harder on the bathroom door, “Aaron I have to piss! Open the fucking door or I’m gonna kick it in!”
“I’m showering!”
Jess turns from the door, stomping towards their shared room but Haley pops out of the spare, meeting her halfway. “Just wait,” she requests, slipping past Jess in the small hall and going to the door. “Aaron?” she says sweetly, “I gotta brush my teeth.”
They both hear him huff from the other side. “Fine,” he hollers, and they hear the shower curtain jerk back. He throws the door open, naked and dripping wet. “That what you wanted?” he asks Jess, and he turns and gets back into the shower.
Jess stands for a moment, shocked and processing, but she rolls her eyes, “like I’ve never seen you naked.”
Aaron had basically lived with them during Haley’s last year of high school, which doesn’t really matter because the three of them were inseparable. And that became a problem with the dynamic shifts. Aaron and Jessica had split unofficial custody of Sean. He’d only listen to them, but he was sweet with Haley. He’d slow down with her, lay in her lap, and let her fill his baby-soft hair with flowers. Sean would hold her hand without a fight but Haley was a good student, a good girl. She had clubs and things to do, theater to perform. Jessica and Aaron had time to burn waiting to pick her up, Sean came with them.
Aaron had already been helpless in love with her little sister, he’d always followed her everywhere. And frankly… Jessica was too. Haley is annoying, bossy, petty, and way too dramatic, but Jessica couldn’t imagine being anywhere else, any place but where her sister is. It was always unspoken that wherever Haley was going, Jessica would be too. And then it became also expected that along with Haley would be the Hotchner boys and Jessica.
And it was true. Aaron in one of his dark sweaters, maybe if the humidity were bad enough, and his mother had seemed very convincing with her worry, he’d have on a thinner long-sleeved shirt. Seldomly, he’d have the sleeves pulled to his mid-arm but he was always wearing jeans and his beat-up sneakers. He looked serious and threatening smoking across the street from whatever building Haley was in. Which was entirely the point, he perfected warding everyone off. And beside him would be his baby brother with whatever snack Aaron brought with them and Jessica, in the overalls she’d worn nearly every day or her Roy’s old army jacket.
Being sisters, Jessica knew the day after Haley and Aaron lost their virginities. She’d clutched her head like she was suffering a bursting aneurysm and rolled back on Haley’s bed with so much force she’d rolled straight off and onto the floor. Their mother had come up to see what they were screaming and laughing about and left with as much confusion as she’d come in with. As disgusted as she was, Jessica still listened to every detail.
And now she shares an apartment with them. She’s seen his back half already once this week. They’ve been doing this a long time, he knows that Jessica and Haley go back and forth between bedrooms to show each other what they’re wearing or if they’re changing, if he doesn’t want that to happen then he shouldn’t get dressed in their bedroom while they’re changing.
Living with him just means, far more regularly than she would care for, she catches them in the middle of activities that should really be conducted behind locked doors. The trouble is they don’t lock doors like they should.
There are prices to be paid with their situation.
Jessica stands scowling as she watches how gently Aaron rubs the lice shampoo through Haley’s hair. He’d rubbed her head hard and gotten soap in her eye washing it out. “Your head is such a weird shape,” she says, pouring more soap into his palm. The lucky asshole just shaved his head, rubbed a little soap on his bare scalp, and got to call it done and safe.
“I think it looks fine,” Haley says, turning her head and smiling back at Aaron lovingly – a sight that makes Jessica nauseous. “You look handsome.”
Aaron smiles and leans down to kiss her, “thank you.”
Jessica rolls her eyes, “disgusting.” She watches closely and her petty plan of retaliation only doubles as she watches how gently Aaron tilts Haley’s head back, using his hand to shield her eyes, and continuing to take great care.
Haley had brought the lice home in the first place. She works at a daycare with, Jessica imagines, a thousand drooling chubby-legged toddlers. Who wobble and sway, grabbing at things with sticky, uncoordinated hands. But Haley loves it. Even though one of them gave her lice, and Aaron and Jessica by approximation.
Jessica works in a store, stocking shelves on midnight oil in the peace and quiet of the after-hours, long after everyone else has gone to bed. That is a good job. No snot, or dirty diapers, or crying. Just a quiet, silent store and her.
Aaron works at a bakery, which astounds Jessica because she’s never seen him make a frozen pizza without burning it. They meet one another in the hours that cross over. They get along best when they only have one another, with Haley there they fight for her attention. But Jessica likes to know that Aaron hasn’t been mugged on his walk to the bakery at three in the morning and he likes to know that she’s made it home when she gets off work.
When Jessica comes home she’s expecting a dark, empty living room when she comes in. There are many mornings when she doesn’t make it to her bed and she falls asleep on the closest soft thing– the couch. But as she comes through the door she finds that despite the crescent moon hanging in the sky tonight, there’s a full moon catching the street light outside through the curtains,
“Aaron!” She picks up one of Haley’s pretty pillows off the other couch and throws it down onto him as hard as she can.
It’s a pillow so it harmlessly hits his back and rolls down, but he bolts right up. It takes him only half a second to sit up, look around wildly, and become aware of his current lack of dress. The pillow quickly covers what Jessica’s already been forced to bear witness to. “Jess,” he rasps, “you scared the hell out of me.”
“What the fuck are you doing?” she seethes in a whisper.
“Haley and I got into an argument–”
“What?” Jessica asks, “Why?”
He shrugs, “I don’t know, she was mad about… something.” Aaron glances towards his room and then shrugs again, “I think she’s on her period–”
“Ugh!” Jessica exclaims, rolling her eyes. She shakes her head, ignoring his ‘what?’. She walks away, “You would say that, asshole.” She goes straight back to her room, “sleep somewhere else! I don’t want your junk where I have to sit!” Her door slams shut.
They lived together for three years of college, and for half of Aaron’s time in graduate school.
—---------------------------------
Aaron had honestly thought the most nerve-wracking part about getting married would be having to ask Haley. He didn’t have to walk down the aisle and for that he was immensely grateful but Haley did beautifully. Aaron had stood shaking with anticipation, face wet with tears he couldn’t wipe away fast enough. Half convinced, until he’d seen her, that she’d take her father’s advice and run.
The most nerve-wracking part is after the wedding.
Haley’s sobbing in front of the vanity in the hotel, a pile of bobby pins sitting in front of her. Her arms hurt and she’s beyond doing anything but sitting there clutched by exhausted sobs with a thousand more little daggers pinning her hair back to her skull.
Nervously, Aaron steps behind her. He’s shed most of his suit, left now to his white t-shirt and slacks, and feels a strange, immense guilt that she’s crying. Clumsily, Aaron’s fingers pick through her hair, trying to figure out where the remaining bobby pins are. Her crying is making him nervous, it’s her wedding night and she’s supposed to be happy, and if she must cry then they are supposed to be tears of happiness. But the day had worn her down, enough to sit and cry in her dress over bobby pins.
“Here,” he offers, pulling a napkin from his pocket. “I forgot–” Once the food had been brought out, Hotch couldn’t keep up with it. There was so much and he couldn’t get a hold of any of it fast enough. People who hadn’t paid him much mind before, Haley’s family who doen’t even like him, were all trying to talk. Everyone needed something. He’d grabbed a napkin and began stuffing food into it, unable to hear them over the rumbling in his stomach.
Haley starts to cry harder but Aaron can tell that these tears are very different. She doesn’t wait for what he has to say, unfolding the napkin and taking the little loaf of bread he’d taken out. “I’m starving.” She picks off a piece of the bread and bites into it, moaning. “God,” she gasps, “this is good.”
Crying subdued, Aaron finds his hands are a little steadier, his brain a little less fogged and able to find the bobby pins hiding in her blonde hair. He tosses one to the dresser, the little plink rewarded with a piece of bread Haley holds overtop her head. Aaron leans forward and accepts the bite. He groans too happily at the taste of cheese and bread warmed against his body heat, “that is good.”
As the lasts of the bobby pins come free, Aaron understands why she was crying. “I don’t care for these,” he mumbles, glaring at the pile of pins as he sweeps them into the palm of his hand.
“Here,” Haley holds a bag open for him, ready to receive them.
“You’re keeping. them?”
“Yes,” Haley giggles. She pushes them into the bag from his palm as he stands there continuing to glare at the offensive things. “I’ll need them for something else.”
With a grunt as her reply, Aaron flops down onto the bed face-down and after a moment he feels the bed dip. Haley pats his butt affectionately and her hand comes up, rubbing between his shoulder. Aaron turns his head and looks at her – she’s still wearing her dress. They smile at the same time, the same idea gracing their minds as they gaze at the other still in their gowns.
“There’s still some wedding activities left,” Haley whispers, moving her hand between them, taking her finger and tapping his nose.
Aaron smirks, “yes, ma’am.”
Youth burns in their viens – that youthful, go-getting spirit the only thing that carries them through their goals.
He’s asleep when Haley rolls over, poking his ribs until he grunts. “Roll over,” she whispers.
Aaron groans, “no.”
“Yeah,” she pokes him again. “Roll over, it’s my turn.” He lays still and ignores her. “You’re shivering like a big baby anyway. Roll…” she shoves him, “over.” With a sigh, Aaron turns over, pulling more blankets up over his shoulder. Haley scoots behind him and hugs him, pulling him back against her. “See, don’t you love this?”
Aaron grunts, “like wearing a jet-pack.” Fingers poke into his ribs and Aaron squirms. “Yes, yes,” he relents. He yawns and Haley can feel the yawn pulling him back down, his muscles relaxing. “Love you,” he whispers.
Haley squeezes him.
—---------------------------------
In his second year with the BAU, things began to really change for Aaron. He’s not just the newbie, his opinion is starting to be viewed as expertise and he’s gotten better – his natural instincts have mingled with the knowledge he’s developed.
Dave calls her first, and tells her everything that he knows but it isn’t much. But the last he’d seen of Aaron he was breathing on his own, awake and alert. Dave doesn’t tell her about the full extent of things yet, he fears it would only worry her. When she can see him for herself, it won’t be as scary. The details over the phone only take root in the imagination, an awful place to ponder on nightmares such as this.
He calls her again, shortly after, when Aaron comes out of surgery. It’s a matter of hours but Haley’s in a cab, on her way to the hospital from the airport, and she finds immediate relief in hearing Aaron’s voice. She can hear the tears he’s fighting to keep at bay as he tells her“we’re in misery”. Dave holds the phone to his ear and Haley can hear him chuckle as he softly corrects,“we’re in Missouri, Aaron”. His response is a whine, a sad,“that’s what I said.”
When she gets there he’s asleep, Dave tells her that Aaron’s been weepy. Haley believes him. Alone, Haley sits down on the edge of the bed, picking up Aaron’s hand from the bed. His left arm is in a tight sling strapped down his chest but she can see the tube snaking up underneath his gauze. Haley doesn’t know the rest of the machines but she recognizes the chest tube and the strained sound of his breathing.
Tears prick his eyes the moment he sees her and wetly, he tries to speak but Haley shushes him gently. Still agitated, Hotch shifts his head back and forth, anxiously moving with nowhere to go. Haley stands and leans over him, her hand never leaving his, while her other gently comes over the top of Hotch’s head. Her fingers tame strands of hair sitting however they like, dampened by sweat. “I’m right here, sweetheart. You’re okay, just rest.” Her thumb brushes down between his eyebrows, pressing where they bunch up, relaxing them. She watches him fight it, a caught breath and a small jerk of his head. But he doesn’t want to move away. “Just rest, Aaron.”
He’d always called her sweetheart. Long before she’d ever thought about love there he was with his thick accent and blushing cheeks, following her dutifully wherever she went. He was always there, from six through thirty. She’d made mud pies with him in her mother’s garden, giggling at as his accent and the way he called hersweetheart like they were already adults. He’d stopped when they were ten, began blushing instead. He kissed her for the first time when they were sixteen, he’d changed suddenly after fourteen and Haley couldn’t keep up. They were no longer the same. No longer little kids with missing teeth and matching sneakers. Something had changed and he wouldn’t tell her what it was. He’d called her sweetheart again for the first time in years and Haley clung to it.
Haley liked reclaiming the name, she didn’t like that the BAU was trying to make him hard when he wasn’t. Aaron was always a sweetheart, too good, too kind. They’d only hurt him.
And they did.
Haley would never forgive them for this.
Brakes squeal and everyone is silent, not even Foyet speaks.
“Oh,” Foyet says after a long moment, “now this is fun, Hotch.” And the line had closed. Gone. The call ended.
Haley shakes where she stands, waiting. All she can do is wait. There’s a gun to her chest but Jack isn’t here – and Aaron’s coming. Her eyes swell with tears. An hour ago, Aaron was dead. She didn’t know what to do with herself, what was there to do? Haley had left Aaron to avoid exactly this, being the first person to call, the name signing a death certificate. And he’d still died. She can hear the fear in his voice, proof of life that she doesn’t even care. He’s alive.Aaron’s alive.
Aaron opens the front door and some small hope in Haley’s chest flutters – because Aaron’s home. And it doesn’t matter how long it’s been since she’s last thought that, it still brings that comfort. Aaron’s comfort.
Haley runs and hides as Foyet leaves her, grinning maddeningly as he goes to join Aaron in the kitchen.
She can hear them and she knows Jack must too. Aaron grunts, pained, and Haley flinches, hands pressed to her ears at the sound of something breaking heavily, more grunts and groans coming. She sits completely still, croached down in the corner behind the couch, but feels the need to run when she hears footsteps.
“Where’s that bastard son of yours?” Foyet. “Where’d everybody go?” He stops in the living room, looking around with his arms extended out. Haley can see the knife in his hand, wet with blood. Aaron’s. “Just tell me where he is Hotch,” Foyet nearly sounds like he’s whining but he’s still smiling. He turns, he must be able to see Aaron from there, “if you tell me I promise I’ll make it fast.” He turns back towards the kitchen, sulking, “come on, let’s have some fun. Little boys do nothing for me, you know that. He wasn’t even–”
Haley flinches – and she hears Aaron roar, haggard and exhausted, but rampant with fury. There’s endless destruction, things breaking so quickly Haley isn’t sure where they are or who is winning.
And then it’s silent. Not silent.
Haley’s heart freezes – something’s being dragged.
 Someone.
They come to the living room and all she needs is the one ragged breath to know it’s Aaron. A ragged, weak breath.
Foyet moves around the living room, “I’m going to show that little brat both of his dead parents.” A table is thrown over onto it’s side as Foyet tears the room apart, searching for Haley. She moves her head, peeking behind the chair, and she sees Aaron face. It’s scrunched up in pain, he’s weakly trying to lift his head from the ground. “And I’m going to tell him that it was all your fault.”
Aaron head falls back and he looks at the ceiling.
“How old is he?” Foyet asks, shoving a couch away from the wall. “He might be my youngest yet.”
Aaron sees her. They lock eyes and Aaron’s eye twitches and she watches him peel himself up from the ground, wobbling dangerously – and then she sees his chest. The blood. All his own seeping down the fabric of his shirt.
She looks away. She doesn’t think about it, Haley pinches her eyes shut and holds her hands over her ears. One of them is going to die and Haley can’t listen. It will either be Aaron or Foyet, and she’ll either hear Aaron die or hear as he takes another man’s life.
Haley hasn’t seen him like this in years. Blood comes and goes, he’s clumsy and quick to rush into things without thinking, but she hasn’t seen him afraid in a long time. There were always startles – spiders, fires, and wolves – but that was just tight, quick. He was just startled by a silly fear, something inspired by nightmares. She’d only ever seen him afraid of one thing. The only thing he knew would kill him before he could ever kill it.
His father was a big man, bigger than a little boy could imagine. It didn’t matter how big Aaron got, he was still just that little boy.
And here that fear is. His chest is a massive hole and his eyes dart around him, trying to find Foyet. He can’t breathe, his lungs are filling with blood, and he’s still trying to ensure the threat is gone. That Jack and Haley are safe.
But Foyet is unmoving. Haley had waited, timed silence passed by the sound of Aaron’s ragged panting. And Foyet had not moved. Not a twitch, not a moan. He did not breathe. Haley had been slow to stand, afraid still of a dead man. But he was dead, and now it was over.
His broken fingers try to curl around hers, his open mouth moves to speak but his voice is cut immediately by a wet cough, he spits up blood onto his lips.
Haley wipes it away quickly, leaning down pressing her forehead into his. “Oh Aaron,” she sobs, shifting her grip on his hand, holding it there as she feels him cease to be able to hold it there himself. She wishes she could start over. Go back to that sunny afternoon in the front yard, when their parents stood protectively over them. To the boy wrapped in the ends of his mother’s dress.
Aaron’s next breath takes two of her own and Haley holds onto him, pressing them tightly together in the last seconds. They’re masters at the art of togetherness, nearly every waking moment from the day they first met. There is no separation, not even divorce had driven them completely apart. They’re one. One person. One breath. One life.
“Aaron?”
Only one.

I decided to Sonic style characters again, and yep, I decided to Sonic style the Straw Hat pirates from One Piece. My OP obsession is still coming in at full force and I had the idea to Sonic style the main cast after doing a sketch of Chopper in this style. I kind of happen to enjoy Sonic styling characters I like you know? It's fun to draw in the Sonic style. Here's all ten:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luffy is a hedgehog for obvious reasons so no explanation needed. I also decided to convert Luffy's Fifth Gear from the Wano Country arc into a Super form for my Sonic styled version of the Straw Hat captain. Gears Second, Third, and Fourth would alter his body while Fifth is his Super form. I always get Hyper Sonic vibes from Gear Five Luffy in general and yet I tend to call it Luffy's Super form lol.
Tumblr media
I'm not the best at drawing blades, so that's why I didn't draw them on my Sonic design for Zoro. Just letting you all know as a heads up. Roronoa Zoro was easy to choose a species for: a wolf. It just suits his fighting spirit and rough around the edge personality.
Tumblr media
Like Luffy, Nami is also a hedgehog. She was interesting to design since I don't exactly put inappropriate content onto my page. I gave her justice though, and that's all that matters!
Tumblr media
Originally I was gonna do something else for the sniper god himself, but after watching Water 7 and see the man go through an Infinite phase before rejoining his friends as his altered ego Sogeking to help rescue Nico Robin from Enies Lobby, I knew that Usopp(aka my second favorite character with Chopper being my first)had to be a jackal. He was fun to design, but was just as complex as Franky.
Tumblr media
The last of the East Blue crew is Sanji, and he was the most fun to design out of all of them. He happens to be my favorite that I've done, and I'm too proud of his design! If you're wondering, he's a bat.
Tumblr media
I did two designs for my Sonic version of Chopper, my favorite One Piece character. The left one is my first sketch, and the right is one I did of him in one of his iconic Rumble Ball poses. It would of been a crime if I didn't do him in a Rumble Ball pose of some kind; he works really well in the Sonic style in my opinion!
Tumblr media
A bit more on the simple side, but I couldn't get the thought of Nico Robin being a cat out of my mind. Here she is in advance! Of course I had to pull off her iconic pose as well.
Tumblr media
I'm gonna be real. Franky was the hardest to design. I couldn't at first think of an animal that best suited him, but I chose a fox to be his species due to his intelligence as a shipwright. I was gonna do him in his iconic pose, but oh well. I'll try again next time.
Tumblr media
I don't know why but Brook is always so hard for me to come up with because of him being the skeletal musician of the Straw Hats. I ended up choosing an owl for this guy because I figured a nocturnal animal of some kind would best suit him. He actually turned out to be easy to design, so that's less pressure on me.
Tumblr media
The final Straw Hat member Sonic styled is Jinbei! I know he's not like Arlong and his men, but you have to remember that Jinbei is also a fishman and that any kind of sea predator would suit him. A shark especially. That's what I designed him as. This also is my first attempt at designing a Sonic shark as well.
That's about everything I have to share, but I'll be Sonic styling some Chopper forms next!
The One Piece anime belongs to Toei Animation; the Sonic style designs for the Straw Hat pirates belongs to me(Thunderheart)

Wanna know about my history with soap operas? Well... I know that I’ve shared my love for Dominique Deveraux - TV’s First Black Bitch on the original Dynasty, but that wasn’t the only soap that I watched as a kid and while she was my first, here are a few more Black women in soap operas who I paid attention to (and mostly saw first on soaps).
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Senait Ashenafi ♡ Keesha Ward, General Hospital: This is one of my favorite soap girls of all times. She was sweet and pretty, and she was in one of my first ships as a preteen? I don't recall how old I was when I was watching this, but I was obsessed. I would rewatch her scenes with Jason all the time on VHS tapes. I stopped watching some time after they broke up.
Tumblr media
Felecia Bell ♡ Simone Hardy, General Hospital: I did not watch General Hospital during the days of earlier Simone casting. But in my soaps heyday, and I mean I set the VCR for my soaps when I wasn't home and watched them when I got home, and Felecia Bell was Simone at that time period. I thought it was interesting to see a character that I was told had a historical landmark for daytime tv.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Renee Elise Goldsberry ♡ Evangeline Williamson, One Life to Live: I had many run ins with OLTL, but the last time I watched it, I had been lured back by one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my life! I CRIED when she left the show. I tried to stick around to see what they'd do with her sister, but I quickly lost interest and have not seen the show since.
Rhonda Ross ♡ Toni Burrell, Another World: I wasn't extremely fond of this character, but she had the first Black rape survivor story arc that I can recall seeing and I still remember images of the court trail in my mind today. AND! She was the first Diana Ross child that I knew of. Diana Ross was so important to me in my childhood, her daughter was important by proximity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tracey Ross, Brook Kerr, Lena Cardwell ♡ The Russells, Passions: Sometimes... You see a show that is like a decade long fever dream. That show is Passions. Some might have called it a guilty pleasure, but I don't be guilty about my pleasures and Passions was my pleasure. NONSENSE! But very entertaining. I was not around for all them Simones, but Idk the two lightskint ones apart, so idk which one was on by the time I simply fell off this show.
Lynn Hamilton ♡ Cissie Johnson, Dangerous Women: I definitely didn't see her first in Dangerous Women, but her role in that, as Cissie Johnson was a pretty significant part of a short lived serious that I thought was amazing. It was about women who had been in prison, one fakes her death, escapes, Sqand gets plastic surgery, and there's a lot of stuff that revolves around the ex cons. Cissie was kind of a mammy character, in hindsight, but as a kid, she was a nice Black lady on a show full of snakes and liars.

She was also on Generations, a soap opera that I called, "The Black Soap Opera," because there were SO MANY Black people in the cast, and other soaps just did not do that back then.
Sidenote: Generations was the first time that I saw Vivica A. Fox, but I didn't learn her name until Patti Labelle's sitcom Out All Night. Y'all have NO IDEA how much I loved and watched any and every Black show they gave us, even though they never really lasted long. I missed Generations SO MUCH, despite it only being on for a couple of years.
Sharon Leal ♡ Dahlia Crede, Guiding Light: I thought she was the most beautiful woman ever to be on a soap opera. That was basically it. I was only sort of watching Guiding Light, so I barely remember anything about her character, but I collected every photo of her that they put into my mama's soap magazines.
Tumblr media
Mari Morrow ♡ Rachel Gannon, One Life to Live: This character also has been recast several times, but during my consumption, it was Mari Morrow, when Rachel was in her addiction storyline.
Enuka Okuma ♡ Kelly, Fifteen: It took me a ridiculous amount of time to remember that Enuka had been Kelly on Fifteen!! I was excited to realize that, even though still to this day, nobody I speak with ever remembers this show. A Nickolodeon teen drama? Excellent, I loved it. Nick was so good in my day.
I included Arseman, even though I have not seen her since. But, she was rep too, so. There she is.
Tumblr media
Sherri Saum ♡ Vanessa Hart, Sunset Beach: Now... this one is a little different, because I don't remember actually LIKING this character, but she's pretty and whenever I'd see people reblog that Fosters show, I'd always envision my older sister imitating her soap character's boyfriend saying her name (Because my sister hated his acting and imitated him funnily to me) First time I saw this lady and that man, but he later wound up in Shondaland.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Garcelle Beauvais ♡ Cynthia Nicols, Models Inc.: This show was a primetime soap. A spin off of Melrose Place. (Melrose Place being a spin off of Beverly Hills 90210), and Garcelle Beauvais gabe me EVERYTHING an angsty child needed inher soaps. This character went through SO MUCH and was SO important to me! She was bulimic. She had an obsessive ex who stalked her. Who KIDNAPPED her and assaulted her in front of her tied up new boyfriend. He had been sending her Black Barbie dolls bound and blindfolded, and when she got down with her new man, he yoinked her. She wound up having to kill him and I supported every moment of her in that one season of a show it feels like only me, my mama and my older sister watched.

My suggestions for the real names of the Characters from Danganronpa F: Shattered Hope.
Tumblr media
Hello and welcome, brothers, sisters and non-binary comrades. I was bored, so I decided to share something I came up with some time ago. Namely, what the cast's real names are, in my opinion.
It's for fun.
Enigma - Dylan Thompson: I can't really justify my choice. I just think that the name Dylan suits both Enigma and the protagonist. Additionally, when I imagine that the others call him Dylan, I immediately label him with that name.
Cancel - Mary Brétan: I know Cancel, she said at free events that she was from California. However, seeing her clothes and her long, night-black hair, I am not convinced that this girl does not have Romanian roots.
Yaxi - Ivory Espadera: When I hear this name, I also hear its strength. A strong name for a strong woman warrior.
Grisp - Grant: I was thinking about the name Grispa and I think he would probably have a crazier, more unusual name. But the name Grant suits me too. When I heard the name Grant, the first thing I thought of was a tall and well-built man. Moreover, it is a distinctive name with a calm tone. Good name for Grisp.
Scarlet - Adreinne Phu: Sounds elegant to me. Therefore, for the beautiful, motherly figure of this killer game, it is absolutely perfect in my opinion.
Cross - Albert River: When I was thinking about a name for Cross, for some strange reason my mind went to the game "The Witcher". I kept thinking of something that had a "serious" or "intelligent" connotation to it. And so, thinking about the name and random, reimagined scenes from "The Witcher", the name Albert River came up, and honestly. I just really like it.
Moraiteru - Brooke Sirano: I'm not sure how I came to this conclusion. I have the impression that Mora has some family in Spain.
Corza - Trevor Talde: His name is Trevor, like Enigma's, his name is Dylan. God, why am I so stubborn about these two names?
Pocket - Paul Green: I love Poket, and its greatest asset is its voice actor, who I think does a great job. That's why I named him "Green". When I was a child, I heard many times from my mother that the color green was calming. Pocket Voice is my green color.
Rock - Gregory Stone: Do you get it? Because he's a Geologist whose last name is "Stone." I'm comical. Quite seriously. Rock's love of verbal jokes influenced my decision. After all, Rock was delighted to remember his name. (At least that's what I think)
Rox - Elena Wright: A beautiful name for a beautiful journalist. I like the name "Elena" so much, so I immediately knew what name sounded perfect for Rox. Besides, I think you'll agree that Rox would be like a female version of Phoenix, screaming "Objection" throughout the trial room.
Twin - Kenneth Flash: Kenneth will always be known to me as an archetypal character who is cheerful, full of life and cares for the wound. Yes! Kenneth is his name, I'm even more insistent than with Corza and Enigma. The name Flash comes from the fact that Twin captured my heart at flash speed.
Rissi - Kaitlyn Hart: Sounds cute and innocent to me. It accurately captures the wonderful person Rissi is.
Anon - Zack Smitch: When I thought about it a bit and looked at his nickname, the fact that it is currently targeted, that Anon will not have any talent and his behavior, I associated him with an ordinary surname. However, I gave the name more expressive, because the aura of an ordinary Anon raises some suspicions.
What do you think about this ? Have you had any thoughts on what the real names of our favorite fourteen Ultimats might be?
Have a nice day/night

If you don’t mind me asking, how do you feel about all the straw hats individually? (Truth is, I got a lot of one piece antis on tiktok and I genuinely like all the straw hats and to that extent most of the characters so I just wanted to make sure)
I should point out that I've stopped watching One Piece sometime after Sabody Archipelago Arc, while with manga I stopped few chapters after Ace's execution. Therefore the last Straw Hat Pirate I've known was Brook and I don't have opinion about later members yet.
I can say that some Straw Hats I liked quickly, others grew on me over time, and I'm indifferent about others.
My absolute favorites:
Luffy - yes, some of his shenningans are annoying and he can be a little dumb at times, but you get the idea that this is a man with principles. There's a lot of admirable things about him, like the fact that he has a strong will and sense of justice, and he's willing to fight for people he knows only a little (Mountblanc Cricket for example). Many of his nakama were first such people.
Sanji - Sanji seems very cool, with his swagger, aloofness and chain-smoking, but you quickly realize there's something more to him. He is a magnificent cook and treats his craft very seriously, however, his exepriences on the island gave him a unique insight into someone who suffers from starvation, which first couple of episodes on Baratie showcase (his anger over Fullbody meddling with the dish, him offering Gin, Don Krieg and Don Krieg's men food, because they're starving for days) and I wish it'd popped up more often in later arcs. His perverted ways are kind of tiring but I would say that I've seen more annoying perverts in fiction.
Chopper - oh, Chopper is just the cutest and frankly, I like his default form the most. He's a child at heart and it is a good heart, he's very smart and capable, but he also takes a lot of risks and had a life marked with tragedy.
Not gonna lie, part of what makes me like these characters, is their backstories that feature fatherly figures and moved me in different ways. Episode with Shanks stole my heart and hooked me on this anime, because it's such a simple story and yet it gives so much insight into Luffy's moral code and way of thinking. Episode with Sanji and Zeff on the island is horrific on many different levels, but there is so much to unpack in this "limited situation" (Sanji dreaming of leftovers that were put in the trash, him cutting Zeff's sack thinking there is food, but there's just gold which is useless in their position; the realization that Zeff lost a leg because of him). And episodes with Chopper and Hiruluk are bittersweet, because Chopper found someone who loved and accepted him and gave him purpose, but then this whole situation with Hiruluk's disease and mushroom complicates things, and it plays out like a one big tragedy. For me personally these three stories are just the most interesting and I used to rewatch them a lot.
Now let's move to characters that grew on me over time:
Zoro - for a long time I was indifferent about him. He had good scenes, but I didn't think much about him or his dream. It was only when in Thriller Bark Saga he volunteered to take Luffy's pain and said: "Luffy will become the Pirate King.", that he gained 100+ respect in my eyes and suddenly I started to see him in different light. What I find most interesting about him is this relationship he shares with Luffy - they are polar opposites character-wise, but I have no doubt that they are kindred spirits and Zoro respects his captain the most.
Usopp - at first he might be a Miles Glorious kind of character, not to mention a scaredly cat at times, but I would say he's a work in progress in a best possible way. He wants to be Brave Warrior of the Sea, he's full of self-doubts and he's limited by his own fear, especially because he's surrounded by superhumans and monsters... but you can see that he often wins with his fear and gradually becomes the man he wants to become. I can kinda relate to this dude.
Robin - at first Robin comes off as a cold killer and femme fatale and then she joins Straw Hats and you suddenly realize that she's a fun character to have around. She's a stoic, often unphased by her nakama's weird shenningans, but at the same time she laughs and is really good with younger (or younger-at-heart) characters, like Chopper. I also like that she's a scholar and there are times when her archeology background comes up.
And finally characters I'm indifferent about:
Nami - for a long time Nami fell into an archetype of an anime female lead I really disliked back in a day: a character that was mean or violent towards the main character (frankly, she never reached Haruno Sakura's level, because Oda was gratious enough to not give her a love interest she would fawn over; or make her a girl Luffy is hopelessly in love with). Her greed, although understandable given her backstory, can be tiresome at times, however, she also has some good moments in the show and she was one of the four core members of the crew, alonside with Zoro, Usopp and Sanji.
Vivi - I hated Vivi during the first watch of the anime, but this rewatch opened my eyes to the fact that she's not so bad. Still, as I said earlier, I wouldn't put her back on the team, because I don't feel like she has the Big Dream that requires her to travel through the Grand Line, like the rest of Straw Hats. Her Big Dream is Arabasta being safe and prosperous, and she can achieve it in her homeland.
Franky - he's just... Franky. Yes, his backstory about seeing his creations hurting his mentor and causing destruction is sad and poignient, he becomes Straw Hats' ally really quick after this whole thing with Usopp, and he seems very proud of Thausand Sunny, but he's my least favorite Straw Hat, I'm sorry.
And finally, Brook. I put him separately from others because I didn't spend much time with him, so I didn't get the full grasp of his character. I will say that he has one of the most beautiful scenes in whole series and probably during this rewatch I will be talking about it extensively when the time comes. He also seems fun, most of the time. Still, I don't know him as much as i would like to.
Now, the crew as a whole is great and I love how they grow to care for one another. It's also very unconventional crew, since they are very much like: "Well, our captain is an idiot, but he's our idiot." You get me?
I don't know if later episodes will change how i look at some of those characters or if I find the new Straw Hat members more interesting, but for now it looks like this.

-pulls a chair over and plunks down on it- TOP 3 FILM RED MOMENTS, GO (or anything else you want to say!! I WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT WITH EVERYONE I KNOW BC I LOVED IT SO MUCH) (also i'm about to go through your whole blog from the past two days sorry)
OH MY GOD I’ve been dying to talk to you about this!!!
I’m going to put a little read more thingy so I can hide spoilers (my blog is Uta brainrot right now, please enjoy my unhinged mess lol)
(omg sorry I’m just brain dumping, I hope my jumbled thoughts make sense it’s like 20 things…)
The whole thing?? Can the whole thing be my favorite?? I thought I was ready for this movie and I was NOT AT ALL. I laughed, I cried, my heart completely broke over and over again (I’m going to believe she isn’t dead because I can’t handle anything else).
Also wtf her devil fruit is TERRIFYINGLY strong
The music hits soooooo much harder now with context. New Genesis? The manifesto of of this poor girl. I’m invincible?? The battle cry oh my god. Backlight??? God damn this went so hard she is so full of rage.
I need a fucking minute to reprocess Fleeting Lullaby. I knew this one was going to go crazy but OH MY GOD this was legendary.
The Worlds Continuation and Where the wind blows…. I was in tears. I cried so much during this movie. Everything with Shanks and Beckman (OUR DAUGHTER?? instant waterworks). Shanks crying sent me over the edge.
Tot Musica. Enough said.
One more comment and just Uta…. Im in love with her. She’s so viscerally complex and raw and real in ways I can’t fully put into words. I want to write this girl the reality she deserves, she’s been through so much and I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful of a character she is.
Ok now for moments that aren’t Uta!!
The fits went OFF for everyone. Sanji is rotting my brain (per usual), Zoro… omg. The cutest Nami fit of all time!!! Robin my queen. Brook and Franky looked so BAD ASS.
I am Bepo, Bepo is me, my partner was Law escorting my Uta obsessed ass to the theater. I was in TEARS everytime his silly little outfit went off. I cannot.
Sunny-kun :) I need a plushie of him. “What kind of mods are these?” The cute ones, Franky!!
Ok the Sanji/Brulee moment was really cute ngl
Tot musica itself gave me big Madoka Magica witch vibes which I’m obsessed with
I laughed at the franky fart joke, he’s allowed to have fart jokes
Honestly the comedy in the movie was really freaking good
HOLY BUDGET TOEI put to so much good use. It was insane.
a morsel of joy boy :) I love
Ummmmm that might be all of my rational thoughts at the moment. This movie was SO GOOD.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💖
If you already got this - feel free to ignore it! 😉
Thank you for the ask @txemrn, and @tessa-liam & @ao719 for also asking! 💚💜
Sapere Aude - This one will always be my baby. I was less than a month into writing, and I decided to take on writing a series. It's my version of TRF before PB released it. It was a huge challenge for me, but I'm so proud of how it turned out. It helped me work out a lot of things with my characters, and their dynamics. And I swear, I have some sequels coming for this one... someday.
The Final Goodbye - I love fixing canon, and this is a great example of that. I gave Riley a pair, and she actually walked away from all the drama of the scandal and the engagement tour.
Housewarming Heart to Heart - If you follow canon, after Riley picks Liam, it's pretty much assumed that Drake just lives the rest of his life carrying a torch for her. I was happy to give him some closure, and allow them to move forward as friends.
Another Man's Treasure - I like this one because it gives us a little look at Riley's past, and the life she lived before Liam. It gave Liam a look as well, and he didn't like it. What he did like, was watching Riley take the confidence she had built during her time in Cordonia, and using it to stand up to her past.
A Royal Homecoming - Though I had introduced Riley's sister previously, this was an introduction to the whole Brooks family. It's always fun to put Liam outside Cordonia, and this is especially fun, because Riley's family love to embarrass her in front of her fancy husband.

Decided to go onto JumpStart and look at the old stories I had posted there back in 2014 and share them here
Shame that nothing new has been added to the stories and photos and jokes and questions page in a loooooong time, I hope someday they update that again since it was so much fun seeing what people made and it’d be great if the game got popular again
Tumblr media
I love how I just gave up on rhyming in the end and just said “I woke up back home. The end”
Tumblr media
(censored out my cousin’s name for privacy reasons) “Magic” was the name I gave my character when talking about her online since I didn’t want to call her my irl name online. Her name was my real life name but her name is now Iris. And yes, I am still working on this story concept but the characters have new names and designs. It was initially sort of a Toontown fanfiction but later became its own thing.
Their names now:
Pixie Dust- Pixie Brooks, Big Books - Brianna Brooks, Crystal EyeJewel - Christine Gem, Fire Gem - Fiona Gem. Character with my cousin’s real name isn’t a character anymore and she was literally just my cousin but with magic powers, same with Magic who was just me with rainbow powers. Marissa’s name is likely Marissa Brooks now since she was Big Books’ cousin, but I haven’t written her into the current canon yet
Tumblr media
For some reason for a while when new stories were added the endings got cut off, so this and several other stories I and other have made had the ending cut off and since this was almost ten years ago now I don’t remember what the intended ending was I don’t think we’ll ever know what the full story was, rip. I’m surprised the staff never tried to fix this, since MANY stories had gotten cut off. Also, “there” instead of “their” XP
Tumblr media
“she a” SHE A WHAT I WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING. I’m going to assume those 3 girls were in game friends of mine or maybe they were names I made up for the game, I don’t know.
Tumblr media
another cut off ending, which is a shame since I remember really liking this one when I made it. Going to assume the last sentence was supposed to end with “the baby was going to be a girl” but I don’t know.
This was a side profile of mine where my character was a boy and his name was Blake Feather to match my main character Alexandra PinkFeather (my name prior to becoming Maddy SilverDreamer) but I changed his name to Steve SilverDiamond after the dreaded character design update since I wanted to turn him into Steve from Minecraft and I changed Maddy to Alex SilverDiamond and I tried giving them white eyes to be like Herobrine to rebel against the change. Several years later and those ugly and poorly optimized character models are still being used, but the game is pretty fun. Shame not many people play anymore, my favorite part was chatting and exploring with my friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was REALLY proud of this one when I made it!!! Btw, Vanessa Bear was my cousin’s character. If only we had more text space when submitting stories, there were more details I had wanted to add but I ran out of room.
Tumblr media
What??? Did the ending get cut off since last time I read this one? The ending was different and I KNOW the ending was there since I had read it multiple times, it was something about the two sisters becoming famous in their town and being called the Magic Gems and when people saw them they’d say “There goes the Magic Gems”. Maybe I’m mixing it up with one of the other stories I wrote that all had very similar plots.
Tumblr media
Was the same story posted twice somehow but the endings changed? The people approving stories must have accidentally posted it twice with alterations to the ending. I know the staff sometimes altered parts of posted stories, like some lines were different in the golden flower story than how I originally wrote it. Weird.

I'm scheduling my "top two favorite characters per episode" gifset series and i'm already up to season 5.
Making these gifs is just bringing up all the old anger I felt for Lucas that has been dormant for about a couple weeks lol
Lucas is so much the problem when it comes to his various relationships. Brooke makes jokes that Peyton has a "Lucas stealing face" and all the fans just despise Peyton because they put all the blame her for Lucas' cheating on Brooke/Lindsey but Lucas is the fucking problem... This gif is the epitome of Lucas Scott...
Tumblr media
This scene is good indication of what I mean
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is no reason that Lucas had to say that shit to Peyton. You can't make the argument that he's just confused and trying to convince himself that he loves Lindsey. He has control of his mouth and his behavior. He doesn't have to say this shit! This is the thing that he does. He toys with the woman that he's not dating and says stuff to keep her on his line. Says stuff that makes her think that he has a thing for her but then the next second he'll act like this is all on her and he doesn't have feelings for her. This is a manipulation tactic. And then he'll turn around to his girlfriend and proceed to gaslight her when she acts insecure about Peyton. He'll say stuff like "I don't have feelings for Peyton" "Your the one for me" and then he will continue to blatantly flirt with Peyton. This behavior is unacceptable and it's no wonder that Peyton gets brought into his web all the time because she's being fucking manipulated!
This scene really makes me livid and I've sort of posted about it before so I'm going to copy and paste some of what I said but add more points onto it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The irony of how Lucas claims that Peyton made their breakup about her and what she wanted but then claims she broke up with him because she thought he couldn't make it as a writer. Says she makes it all about her and then proceeds to make it all about him. It's especially crazy because we saw their relationship. Peyton was nothing but supportive of him and his dreams so he made it about him for no reason! We also saw that proposal. Peyton didn't want to rush into marriage but she clearly loved him and wanted to be with him. Lucas gave up on them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So he pretty much baits her. Comes to her workplace at the dead of night. Confronts her. Accuses her of trying to ruin his current relationship. Accuses her of being the reason that they broke up in the first place when it was 100% a decision that he made. And then she had a normal reaction and throws all of his stupid books at him... he has the unadulterated nerve to put his hands up and act like she is this crazy bitch that he's scared of and has to get away from. She didn't force you to confront her and verbally attack at her workplace at night Lucas!!!!! Oh this man gets on every one of my last nerves!!!

Fuck, Snog, Marry, Avoid, Kill (Supernova edition part 2): Hawkins, Apoo, Luffy, Urouge, Bege (Nope, you won't get Law. Too bad)
Jokes on you I DON'T WANT LAW!!
Kill - Apoo. I love music. I know music. What Apoo makes it's trash. Its worse than pornogrind. Worse than nightcore. I'd rather listen to an entire classroom of kindergartners thrash on pots and pans and pianos for 67 hours. It'd be better music than Apoo's stupid fruit. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in Sabaody but as time went by he got worse. Trash human.
Avoid - Luffy. As much as I love One Piece. As much as I love the plot and story and everything... I'm not that big of a Luffy fan. I love him don't get me wrong, he's an amazing character but like, there are more entertaining characters out there. Like Zoro and Brook looking at just in the crew alone. Goda did an amazing job making hundreds of amazing characters. Also, I don't want to do anything intimate with him so... yeah.
Snog - Urouge. He looks like he'd be fun to suck faces with.
Marry - Bege. He did right by Chiffon. He is the best husband and the best father ever! Such a great dad. Better than Shanks that's for sure (looking at you Film Red) and better than Yasopp and Dragon and Franky's dad and Robin's Uncle. I'd marry him because I know he'd treat me and my children right. Plus he's got that cool fruit, i'd never run out of storage space. Plus free traveling lol (go to sleep in my own bed, wake up in Japan or something. No need to pack, got everything I need. Plus shopping will be amazing cuz I don't need to worry about check in luggage lol)
Fuck - Hawkins. He looks like Joey Jordison of Slipknot - specifically from the self titled album (plus I have a long hair kink lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean look at him, tell me that ain't Basil. Joey is my favorite drummer of all time. I love him so much 🖤 RIP #1
Bonus: dude from CP0 kind of looks like Corey Taylor from the All Hope Is Gone era

🔥 The Scream franchise (or just the piece you care the most about)
Hm well I just think it’s the best franchise of all time!
I love every single installment. Obviously the first movie is a classic & honestly the most iconic movie ever made. Every single line is a banger, the cast is flawless - the surprises are fun every time, the mystery is perfect & it’s just my favorite movie for a season. All the movies are great but 2 & 3 were slightly less memorable for me personally. 4 was a banger to me - & I’ll fully admit a huge part of that is my love for Emma Roberts lol! But I also just think 4 regained some of the cleverness & wit that makes Scream so fun & wasn’t quite as memorable in 2 & 3, sorry. They were still good but I just feel like 4 had much more memorable main characters & the intro with the different Stab movies is so fun! Also we see the closest Sidney has come to death ever which is really scary!
The 5th movie is also great! Love the new cast, love Sidney getting sent off (although I feel bad for Neve getting done dirty) loved Jenna Ortega’s performance more than anything. I can’t wait for more of the Carpenter sisters’ characters in season 6!
I also love the MTV series! It’s flawed & it gets some hate but you know what? It did a really great & fun job carrying over the vibes of the Scream franchise to a TV show to me. Shit, I might need to do some re watching I’m just remember how freaking fun that show was! I loooooved the characters of the OG cast soooo much too Omg Emma & Audrey & Brooke & Jake were my OTPs & Noah was such a fun character!
Now - controversial but I also enjoyed the new cast of season 4 (iirc that’s the right season, if I got it wrong sorry I’m too lazy to google lol). I think the mystery was well done & the main flaw was that they tried to do too much with too many characters in a very short time. That said, the characters were intriguing & if we’d gotten more seasons with them I think I’d have grown to love them like I did the cast of seasons 1-3!
Anyway this basically gave me an excuse to ramble about how much I love Scream so thanks! 😁

Okay so I love the arcs of One Piece for very different reasons, and if you asked me which one is my favorite it would mostly depend on the mood of the day because my answer usually changes. However, especially because it is now October I gotta say Thriller Bark holds a particularly special place in my heart.
This arc is definitely short but is so much fun to read/watch. Especially in the beginning. Not only is Brooks whole introduction sequence hilarious but I absolutely can’t get over the stark contrast between the coward or weakling trio first crossing the island and the monster trio plus Robin and Franky. The comic bits like Franky’s quick builds, Robin’s morbid comments, Zoro and Sanji’s whole relationship, all of it was brilliantly done.
The enemy crew was extremely fascinating. Like Moriah’s whole story of his entire crew getting slaughtered by Kaido so he is building an undead army to never lose people again almost makes you sympathetic to him…until you remember that for the 1,000 shadows stolen there are 1,000 people who’s lives are literally on a hairs width of ending every day. And his three generals, especially Perona were very unique (although Perona is the only one I ever liked).
There were so many good characters in this arc too. Lola was fascinating and I feel in love with her so quickly. The leadership she showed, the fact that she was one of the few female pirate captains (I honestly think she was the second female Pirate Ships Captain we met and since Alvida was all the freaking way back in the first encounter it was LONG overdue). Kuma came back again and this time we actually got some real insight into the character.
Then Brook’s whole story. The Rumbar Pirates, closing the mystery of Laboon, the terrible loneliness that Brook must have felt for fifty years, most of the time not even knowing if it’s night or day and almost not even having a reason to care with the exception of Laboon’s promise.
The fights in this arc are some of my favorites and I honestly still believe the Strawhats vs Oars is hands down my favorite fight in all of One Piece. The absolute teamwork of the crew, the fact that they know each other so we’ll that they can all play off of each other’s strengths and fully work together to bring such a massive opponent down. Like yeah, watching Zoro take down Pica was cool, but seeing the entire crew work as a team? That gave me chills.
Speaking of the crew! There have been whole essays about Zoro and Sanji in this arc, but can I point out it also demonstrated the entire crews faith in Luffy. Like Lola points out, the Strawhats are all beaten and exhausted. They have been awake for nearly 24 hours and have been fighting for their lives for nearly 12 hours. They were just beaten into unconsciousness but seeing Luffy is still getting up, they get up and position themselves in the best possible place to help Luffy. And Zoro, Sanji, and Robin believe in Luffy so much that all three were still standing in the sun despite the danger because there was no question Luffy would win.
Thriller Bark is such a great arc and it sets up so much too for not just the next arc but practically the entire two year timeskip.
