story exposition for Blinded by Light below

BBL was designed parralel to QS and finished construction a short time after her activation.

It was built by a coalition of powerful religious groups to harness the holyness radiating off of the fissures QS' designers had discovered and was overall a place people visited to worship and philosophise.

It quickly grew to be revered as a god by its citizens, the Iterator that would find salvation, they would let it know this through various festivities, blessing rituals and asking it for guidance.

BBL is soft spoken and socially awkward, he did not enjoy all the attention and often sought comfort in writing. Neither could it handle the expecations set by his benefactors but tried his hardest to live up to their hopes.

He often agonized over what advice to give (which often led to inaction from him), prepared speeches months in advance and generally fed into what his designers perceived him to be, but itself felt it was never enough as it never manged to find the Solution.

QS had always been a source of comfort for it, she treated it like a peer first and foremost and they collaborated on many projects. It considers her its closest confidant even when they never talked about their troubles in earnest.

Without QS to lean on desperation grew in it as the day of mass ascension hung over its head and its populous looked to it for answers. He had none, all of his work never amounted to anything that would bring a safe and surefire way to ascend.

When they left their parting gift was a bonemask he was to wear, carved into it were mantras and poems that were to remind him of his purpose.

He never took it off.

In the present it is comatose, iterating on the Great Problem and dependent on TPSN for its vital functions.

Mhmm I sure love thinking of the reality where we did get more time to really know Karai and her dynamics with the bros. Losing her hit hard in the finale, but it would’ve hit much, much harder had we known Karai longer and really saw her relationships develop with everyone.

I especially would have been interested in her dynamic with Leo, as past iterations often have the two of them clash in ideals and the like while still sharing many characteristics. Two sides of the same coin, and all that. Her specifically being the bros’ Gram-Gram also adds a whole new dynamic as well.

Imagine how interesting it would be, to have Karai start off on Leo’s side for once, showing wholly just how alike the two are at their cores and bonding as family without the worry of betrayal or animosity that other iterations suffer through, only to have Karai die anyway. Their parting hug and the desperate look of horror Leo wears later on would have hit that much harder, I feel.

I keep seeing posts about Henry calling Normal a beautiful boy, which I think would be great, but what I want is for Normal to do something stupid and/or reckless, to save Dood or something, something so incredibly Normal, maybe getting injured in the process. He thinks he’s disappointed his dad, but Sparrow just grabs him, and hugs him, and whispers apologies for not being proud of him, and how he’s never done anything wrong, and he’s his sweet beautiful boy, and he’s so so proud of him for everything he’s accomplished.

Thinking about Httyd...hot and perhaps too personal take: To me, Httyd was more than anything else a movie about emotional starvation. And Forbidden Friendship was the sweetest, briefest celebration of relief from that.

Afterwards, everybody basically told Hiccup to man up “because that’s just life” and I will never forgive Httyd2 and Httyd3 for that.

Alright guys, I just got done with QPR training, so buckle the fuck up, because this is well-past due. So, y'all know how some people classify suicidal actions, thoughts, or ideation as "attention seeking"? My question is; what's wrong with attention-seeking behavior? I always hear that attention-seeking behavior is bad and wrong in all circumstances, but, like, is it, though? I'm definitely thinking of it from a nutritional aspect, if that makes sense. When you don't have enough of a certain nutrient, your body craves it, right? So, to me, attention-seeking behavior is the equivalent of craving salt when you're dehydrated. What's going to happen if you give them the attention they're asking for? Sure, it's healthier for them to straight-up ask, but sometimes that's not an option, and sometimes they might not even be aware that they're seeking attention. (And this is just about giving positive attention to others, don't you fucking dare use this thought process to justify SA/SH or any other form of abuse. I will find you). Who in the history of ever has been negatively impacted by positive attention?

P.S. I would love to debate this if anyone wants to.

P.P.S. Lack of attention as a maturing adolescent/young adult is also how you end up with a praise kink as a sexually mature adult. If you've read this far, congrats, and I'm sorry.
