#zuko #zukaang #aang #atla zuko #atla aang #atla #avatar the last airbender #the promise #unpopular opinion maybe but i loved how nothing in this book was cut and dried and how everyones' trauma came back to haunt em #progress isn't linear so i don't mind zuko's behaviour here #he suddenly has a lot more pressure on him and he's obviously scared shitless he'll do the right thing etc. like shit just got real #super sad #aang didn't want to kill ozai but idk he was just being a friend to zuko here because zuko asked it of him #aang was obviously conflicted BUT he also wanted to uphold his duty to the world #which zuko totally sold him on and used as an argument for aang to honour the promise.#i can totally see that happening #i loved the ending too how zuko turned out to be right all along and it was the generational trauma that just convinced him he wasn't right #like is some of the characterization/plot contrived? sure totally! but wow i'm shocked to see how ice-cold the overall reception is #@tumblr stop messing w my tags and sticking them in the post body omg #atla spoilers

florist roses having no scent is actually so messed up. we bred the roses to look "perfect" and last a long time and but they have lost The thing that people have loved them for the most for thousands of years. now when u smell a boquet of roses all you can smell is the chemical scent of plant food unless they're actual garden roses. there's a metaphor in here somewhere

#roses are my favorite flower but if anyone ever wanted to buy me flowers i would hate to get roses #bc they straight up smell like chemicals #carnations at least smell nice #but if u want fragrant roses you better be buying a designer wedding boquet or something or grow them yourself lol #insane insane insane #how did we let it come to this #roses went from the most romantic flower to the most boring artificial flower and we just let it happen 😭#nobody even talks abt this but it haunts me #valentine's day always reminds me how much i hate florist roses lol #a rose by anyother name might actually smell sweet <3 #anyway i see a scentless boquet of roses for an outrageous price and im ripping and killing and biting etc #why do we insist this is the pinnacle of romance lol #this has been a shitpost #anyway the reason u can get nice ones for wedding boquets is bc they only need to last a short time #but why dont we prioritize the scent of the others 😭#also im just being nitpicky but i dont like the look of technically perfect roses i think that was made up to favor a less delicate shape #i dont have a solution for this btw besides saying i would rather have roses that smell nice than last longer #and if u couldn't preserve and ship them as far that would actually benefit local growers in more regions instead of importing 99% of roses

He approached the woman, a piece of stained white clothe covered his mouth and nose, what looked like usually well kept hair was messy, sticking up in spots as thorugh it hadn't been cared for in days, he wore a expensive looking coat woth patchs of snake skin sewn thorughout it, under that a blood red vest and dress clothes, he also wore thick leather gloves.

"You could say that again, are you alright? You... Don't look like you're from here, you didn't somehow get here from the capital did you? No one other than The Inquisitor and the Army are meant to be coming and going to this town." Daniil spoke in Russian, specifically a elegant dialect.

#ok ok ok i have been so excited about the nimona movie since i first read it AS A TEEN #watched the teaser and i’m kinda sad it doesn’t look more like ND’s art #*art. i’m curious about the project getting cancelled i hate disney so much #& how much that influenced the style #but also i’m like not particularly impressed with the trailer #i feel like she was such a cool and weird character & i always imagined just an absolute freak #& maybe it’ll grow on me but i’m like. ok the acting in the trailer alone was too clean & predictable #like she was such a super massive freak im sure she’s yelling screaming all the time. like tbh i imagined her speech patterns to be more #like Finn Adventure Time #like i was hoping the movie would be fun and kinda dark and very anti authority etc #but there’s like super upbeat music and it’s like no we need fucked up string instruments with haunting melodies & the voice acting has to #be muttering and shrieking and insane #and Blackheart was also a character of all time for me if they make him and Allister less gay im gonna kill someone #but like gay (repressed / angsty i suppose)#like he isn’t COOL he is ANGRY. i guess haven’t seen him yet but i’m Worrk #AMBROSIUS NOT ALLISTER #*worried #and if the scientist isn’t in it netflix hates women. also if she’s not insane they hate women #dude i’m fucking up these tags so bad

bwuhhh i know im being way too hard on myself about my art but that doesnt make it any easier to get my brain to be nicer to myself

#i managed to get some progress on a wip done today but i ended up feeling frustrated because of like having to redo #the face so many times. idk ive felt very weird this evening for no reason specifically about myself and my #creative work and my issues with not allowing myself to want anything and also living for so long #expecting myself to kill myself at some point and so its like ive lost the ability to visualize what i want for myself #due to abuse and such. but im also realizing that impacts my creative work to an extent #like i still am haunted by images and ideas i want to create i can still visualize drawings in my mind etc etc but its more like. a block #in my mind because of again abuse related stuff where ive been trained to not be allowed to want anything #and its like. okay what do i want my art style to look like. i dont know. im not allowed to want anything #bangs my head against a wall. okay im doing my best i just have to take it one step at a time as im working thru it

The minotaur myth always invokes like a whole feeling with me because like. Maybe he wouldn't have been a monster if they'd just raised him as a son instead of abandoning him in the labyrinth. Maybe he wouldve just been a guy with a bull head. Maybe he doesn't even like human flesh, how do you know, have you ever asked? Maybe he would have preferred baklava or moussaka or whatever ancient Greek royalty ate but they never gave him a chance to find out. Never gave him a chance to learn to speak so how could he ever communicate? He has every goddamn reason to be so angry

god i really only remembered it & clicked it together when writing that but . rusty really refuses to help brisby w cloning . he turns down a lot of money & opportunity to help brisby w cloning, and this is before the clone thing is revealed & its all just chalked up to his father's research at that point but its really soooooooooo . they're his life work, and it's all just for his boys, its just to keep them alive & around & to let them live when theyre stuck in this life of constant danger and screw ups that rusty didnt want & when he's such a failure he cant even keep them alive so many times that they haunt his mind . its not his failure as a scientist that haunts him, its his failure as a father & how he can acknowledge his father as a brilliant scientist but a terrible father . but what is he bc he's doing what any father would do isnt he? wouldnt you do anything to bring them back? and you succeed in that but youre also haunted by the fact that youve let them die so many times & thats not a successful thing thats also failure .

#really have so much to think about from as/sisted sui/cide.#i think R has always hated his life but the boys are so special but like k/illinger says hes afraid of success . he holds himself back #he distances himself . but its not just from su/persc/ience its from being a dad too . but theyre his entire world genuinely . even when #hes an asshole . i really dont think in all his times of failure & fucking up & all his tr/auma & nightmares & etc . i just think about #how the boys haunt him . i really dont think anything would have pushed him to be sui/cidal except the fact that hes a failure of a father #too i really do think losing the boys the first time would have killed him inside . and i really do think it also adds up that thats why #he uses detachment to cope/protect himself even tho he loves them so much like that #text tag #hes my pookie bear my everything sorry he means the world to me the clone slugs make me wanna explode theyre the obsessive point of a #fathers maddening love

#haunted ecosystem #animal death #for the tags #im veeeery tired and my emotions are a little out of wack (had a weird day yesterday and my brain hasnt fully caught up yet so. yeah)#today is a day where i feel like a scared rabbit in the world.#i know i have a whole bit about being super content and loving and happy and all that but people are people yknow?#its hard to kill something thats embedded in the very way you function. you cant convince your heart to stop beating because it hurts #etc etc dont mind me ^_^ im just putting my thoughts into words.#i realize a lot of stuff i do circles around to rabbits and dogs. dead or alive it doesnt matter.#you handle enough dying animals you learn to embed that into the way you think and work. i forgot most people arent used to that stuff #to most people death is a rarity to avoid. to me its just a part of life. every few months im holding something as it dies.#its interesting. i appreciate death in the same way i hear people talk of life. its beautiful in its own way.
