So she started out as a side character actually... back when I was like... 9 or 10?? I was edgy asf. And I made a self insert oc who doesn't look anything like me anymore and now Aurora whos the mc now... kinda looks like me... but that's by coincidence she always looked like this i swear! She don't even act like me pls 😭 anyway. So it was basically an edgy story abt furries in the forrest. It's still about that but more than that. I think it was my second group of oc's I've ever made, apart from... more furries.

The story got more and more alternation and it turned into this queer allegory(i used to say racial allegory but its more queer one than that). Aurora hides a part of her (the ears) to pretend to be normal and fit in. She can't tell anyone what she truly is so she never feels like she actually does belong where she is. One day she let's her secret out and her house is burned down by some towns people. She runs away from the town, hiding in the forrest. Then her friend, Allison follows her, usually wearing a hat or beanie, now takes it off to show a similar pair of ears. They are the same, same situation and same outcome. Things get complicated when a few years later two teenagers(Jake and Jenny. Dating 🤭) their age come to try and track down the two to kill for honor among the town(they of course refuse to after meeting the two.) They become best friends and even have romantic interactions with Aurora. Ally, being a freak for her best friend, is jealous.

She makes a deal with a demon to find comfort.

Bit of a weird post - This isn't so much for the few followers I have, and they are free to judge me if they feel like doing so.

Something i've been thinking about since I've seen some of the 'animal hrt' things and the resulting people coming to terms with being therian or otherkin. I wanted to reach out to the otherkin community because i've been questioning things.

I'm not otherkin, at least I think, and tbh I had a negative view of the community growing up due to ignorance and cringe culture - I appologize for that.

But I have been thinking introspectively and it's made me think of some things I dealt with for a while.

When I was a kid I was at my happiest being as hyper/wild as I can, as loud as I can, picking up anything I thought was cool

with age that was tempered out of me, I was yelled at for being too loud, I was taught that I needed to adhere to social norms and act "normal" I knew this all pained me then, but I never thought too much into it.

Around when puberty started I developed gender dysphoria, but there was something deeper as well - Growing taller was absolute hell for me, I remember distinctly someone measuring me at 5'7 and I started crying, when that's not really that tall. I felt like I was meant to be short, I didn't want to be tall, I still don't. But I chalked it up to the gender dysphoria of growing tall and being seen as a 'man'. All the while growing into an enforced "mature and stable adult"

I always hated having these arbitrary rules for normalcy that I have to adhere to. I have a huge issue with authority and dispise the notion that anyone is capable of being over another

Now that I've transitioned, the gender dysphoria is gone, I feel happy for the most part. But, there's always been something more. I know i'm a girl in the sense that that's my perferred presentation. But I always felt like gender is an arbitrary thing that isn't for me aside from she/her, but outside of that, I guess I never really had much of a relationship with being human. For me it was always "this is what I'm stuck as for life so might as well get used to it" When I look in the mirror and I see a girl, I see me, yeah, but the me I have to be - but not the one I would choose to be if given the choice.

I have always had a intense love and relation with characters that are goblinesque or feral, short or hunched skrunkly beings with chipped teeth or fangs, unkempt appearances, beautifully unashamed of their ugliness.

I often joke with friends that if I could shapeshift i'd spend like 99% of my time as a short feminine ambiguous goblin creature, acting however I please. This is why my profiles everywhere but here are plastered with goblin pfps

Thing is, it feels like it is beyond a joke, I feel like I am supposed to be that, that if my soul had a shape it would be that, that if I could press a button and be that, I would in a heartbeat- I would be short, wild, ugly, and love every second of it.

I'm unsure if this means i'm otherkin, and truth be told i'm still pretty lost on the concept. I could just be longing to be in touch with my inner child and as far as I know everyone probably experiences it. But I feel like there's more to it.

and LORD okay take this all w the "I'm american" grain of salt but! depends on the era you're writing them in really imo! like any of them, when he's younger, pre-beatlemania and especially in liverpool/hamburg, his accent was thicker. ur gonna be out here googling slang words in 1960s liverpool. but to get a better idea of His voice specifically, a lot of those early interviews and ahdn are good, but also keep in mind he was sort of like. cleaning up his accent a little for the cameras. but it's lots of contractions, but focusing on cadence/wording is better, imo, than focusing on trying to write out the accent which can get grating to look at if you have an apostrophe every other word (but that's just me). lots of glottal stops happening

during/post-beatlemania it seems like he tried to clean up his accent. out of the 4 of them, imo, his accent is the Least strong. it's turned a bit more posh as he's aged (again if I'm mishearing any of this british people you guys do have the right to kill me with hammers) & watching some of his more recent interviews or later beatles interviews gives you a good idea of that! BUT this has the bonus of- you can always have more of the liverpool accent slip back in when he's upset/excited/particularly comfortable/etc etc

if u mean Content....... what I always keep in mind is just that paul is very diplomatic. he says what he thinks will keep the boat from being rocked, esp once they hit beatlemania. so it's always fun to have him sort of think through his words, think about what he Wants to say, go hm yeah can't say that in any dignified way without Consequences, and say something else that may even be contradicting his actions. on the other hand, though, he can be a bit of a dick. esp when him and john feed off each other. lots of early days stories of him encouraging john being an ass to people and being one himself. his asshole-ry comes in a sort of blunt flavor OR a very backhanded sort of bizarre flavor. like sending people postcards saying "obey your school master" and telling people they're not good vs his weird little "who knows, yoko!" type of comments when he's Trying to be diplomatic but still wants to kick shins. I always sort of view him as being kind of oblivious to how blunt & dickish he can come off 😭 great for writing scenes w him and george honestly. so it's fun to have him say or do smth that just. from the outside is sooo shitty but since ur in his pov he's literally just not even thinking about it

It probably also didnt help that his age was stated to be vaguely college aged so he was likely very young, likely a teenager, when it happened. (Hes the youngest of his siblings. Hes between 18-22 since those are the average ages of college students, His brother Cedric is stated to be around graduate age so hes at least 24, and his sister Rue is the oldest, being in her late twenties.)

But then despite that hes willing to die for someone he cares about. He cares about his siblings, he cares a lot in general. He just really doesnt like showing emotions.

What does TFB stand for?

TFB originally stood for Tickle Fic Bloggers, as a tag some tickle Tumblr vets used in the early community days. It evolved to Tickle Fandom Bloggers as the community grew to include more than just fanfic writers.

Regarding Adults/Minors

Is this an event for just adults? If not, are there steps/measures you guys take to ensure that adults who don't want to interact with/make content for minors (and vise versa) won't have to?

Squealing Santa is open to all ages, but we separate all responses into a minors category and an adults category at the initial registration - so minors will make/receive gifts from minors, and adults from adults.

Regarding Giftee Assignment

Do we get to choose which prompts/pairings we write for after we choose fandoms or is it just assigned randomly?

As the event host, I have a super fun albeit chaotic puzzle to unravel between all of the participants requests and what they feel comfortable creating for. Once I have received all of the Fandom Registrations (Due Nov 12th by midnight PST), I will go through the lists and begin pairing folks off by fandom. This isn't to say your Giftee is also making your gift, though that does occasionally happen. In an effort to create as much diversity within the pieces being made, I tend to assign from most to least niche, but there will always be plenty of more popular fandoms produced naturally.

Once you've recieve your assignment, you then have the freedom to choose within the options provided by your Giftee. For example:

A man walks into an interview room, donning a gas mask, and sits down across from the interviewer. The interviewer gave the man a piece of paper that simply says "Tell us about yourself". The man doesn't speak, instead moving his hands to communicate.

"I am the Chemist, 34 years of age, and I believe the doctor said I was about 5'5. I lived in Germany, though I'm half-German, half-Chinese. And I believe your little paper says I'm deaf and partially blind too".

The interviewer handed Chemist another paper. "Your government name?"

"Can't do that. Dunno who's gonna try and bring me back to the police".

The interviewer handed Chemist yet another paper, making him roll his green eyes. "What does being a Chemist mean for you personally?"

"Being the Chemist means I have free rein to work on my experiments, which means the German police forces aren't going to be arresting me in America. Killing at least 20 people will get you on their list".

The interviewer tilted their head at that. They handed Chemist another paper asking "What did you do?"

"I dropped people in vats of acid. I'm a bit of a wanted criminal over there, but they had it coming. All 44 of them. Are we done? My cat is going to get restless in her cage".

The interviewer nodded and Chemist left the room. In his place was a small vial filled with a bubbling substance. It exploded and Chemist picked up a meowing pet carrier. He smirked under his mask as a rumble shook the building.

Role: Offense

An intense fascination with chemical compounds at a young age paved the way for the Chemist to graduate top of his class. However, after killing at least 20 innocent people in his hometown, he had to go into hiding from the authorities. Some believe that the fumes from his work caused him to go mad, but no one truly knows. The only thing that seems to keep him sane is his pet cat.

Weapons

Primary: A dart gun that has the similar look and usage to one from the movie “Zootopia”. Chemist can load it with three types of pellets; an acid pellet, a cryogenic pellet, and a radioactive pellet. He created them during his time fighting in Mercenary Park to watch other mercs suffer when hit. 

The acid pellet causes the targeted area (clothed or not) to burn and melt away. 

The cryogenic pellet causes the targeted area (skin) to have freezer burn.

The radioactive pellet causes the targeted skin (clothed or not) to have radiation burns.

Secondary: An SMG. When Chemist is out of his pellets, he resorts to bullets to take down his enemies. It used to be TF2 Sniper’s secondary, given up when he stopped the mercenary work. It’s more effective, but doesn’t give the satisfaction.

Melee: A left-handed bass guitar in the shape of an axe. It’s an instrument that doubles as a weapon. When he’s out of ammo, pellets or bullets, he goes for his trusty bass guitar. 

Support Slot: The small smoke bombs that are on his sash. He made them himself. He throws them to briefly blind an enemy.

Hi @redratt! Sorry for the tag but I knew my reply would likely be too long for a comment and I wanted to make sure you got the chance to see my response. As with all my responses, this will be as comprehensive as I can possibly make it.

There's a really significant component here that I think is missing for a lot of folks: rabbits are multipurpose animals. All rabbits of all breeds are (or at least have the capacity to be) multipurpose animals. They aren't your standard pet species where their purposes are almost always limited to things like companionship or sports or work, though - some of their purposes also include things like food for people, food for other animals, and pelts/fur.

You said you can understand culling for meat, but the thing is, you don't really... cull for meat. Well, I mean, you do, if you care about bettering your meat rabbits' efficiency and whatnot. But when it comes to rabbits that aren't meat rabbits, you don't cull specifically for meat. You slaughter or harvest for meat - culling might just be the reason why you do it.

Culling means to take something out of a breeding pool. This can be by soft culling, which means the animal lives but never gets bred, or it can be by terminal culling, which means the animal dies.

Culling for aesthetics is why we have breeds at all in the first place. We as humans have selected certain body types, temperaments, colors, and markings that we want to see in certain animals. Without that, there are so many beautiful breeds we never would've had - such as the rabbit in my pfp, or the breed that I'm raising now (which, as of right now, is a breed currently being raised solely for conservation and aesthetics - though I am trying to somewhat change that).

Which brings us back around to 'culling for meat.' As I said, all rabbits have the capacity to be multipurpose animals, including the purpose of food - be that for humans, or other animals. So with that being the case, let's look at an example.

This is a Dutch rabbit (not my picture). Dutches are one of the most popular and recognizable breeds out there. Dutches definitely wouldn't exist without their markings - their markings are a very significant part of what makes them a breed of their own! Dutches are also known for their versatility, making great pets, being a fun and challenging show breed, and - surprisingly to some - a very viable meat breed for somebody looking to raise their own food despite being low on space.

So, with that being said, tell me what the difference is between these scenarios:

>A person primarily breeds their Dutches for show. When they cull their rabbits, they terminally cull them. Depending on what age they cull them at, those rabbits either become a meal for their snake, or become that person's dinner. They tend to nestbox cull for snakefood rather than growing out their culls, though, because they just don't have the space for so many growouts. They occasionally sell rabbits to other breeders to help offset the costs of feed, but mostly keep their rabbits to themselves. They typically don't sell any of their rabbits as pets.

>A person primarily breeds their Dutches for meat. They also enjoy showing their Dutches, so all of the rabbits they eat as meat are rabbits that don't make the showing or breeding cut. One of the reasons they cull toward the breed standard other than that they enjoy showing themselves, is because it means they can sell some rabbits to other breeders, which helps to offset the costs of feed. They don't often nestbox cull because they generally have enough space available, but if they do, they have a falconer friend who likes to use the dead kits to help train their birds. They might sell a rabbit as a pet if they know who they're selling to, but only if that rabbit has an exceptional temperament.

>A person breeds their Dutches solely for meat. Practically all their litters are destined to become Freezer Camp Attendees (aka... food for the year). They are aware of the breed standard, but don't do anything to necessarily breed toward it. Sometimes they have an exceptionally well marked kit that also ends up having a great body, and when that happens they might choose to sell it to a show breeder or maybe even show it themselves. Otherwise, all kits are destined to be people food as soon as they're big enough.

All three of these people are killing rabbits. All three of these people are eating rabbits. All three of these people are raising a marked breed. All three of these people are, in some way, participating in showing that breed.

So what makes person three the righteous person here? Person two is still primarily breeding to feed themself, they just also are doing so in a way conducive to bettering the breed. Person one is still using all of their killed rabbits for food of some kind, even if that's not their main reason for having rabbits.

Truth is, there really isn't a difference. A dead rabbit is a dead rabbit, and a rabbit eaten is a rabbit eaten. The reason why it's killed and eaten isn't important to the rabbit, so why is it so important to us? Just something to consider.

It's ok to be personally uncomfortable with one reason over another. Thing is, you have to remember that at its core, that reason doesn't actually hold weight where it really matters - that is, to the rabbits in question here. A rabbit doesn't know why it's dying, it just knows that it's dying (and it might not even know that, if the slaughter was done well). It doesn't care why it's dying, it's just dying.

If you still are uncomfortable with it, fair enough. But especially when it comes to rabbits, these marked breeds aren't just worthless things that sit in cages and look pretty all day (or at least shouldn't be, in my opinion). They have plenty of purposes, and it just so happens that their markings play a significant role in which purpose they end up having.

In regards to Scout and what their role in bringing this whole conversation about was because for some reason people still seem to not get it; in their original post about the goats, they made a blanket statement. Sure, context could have said they were talking about goats, but at the end of the day, their official final statement didn't specify that their issue was with goats and/or cattle. Their official statement said that terminally culling a healthy newborn for [in this case, being a male] was something that 'should not happen' (i.e. is bad/wrong/whatever), full stop. As I mentioned in previous posts, they then made it about rabbits specifically by sharing a comment made on their post that was in fact directly about rabbits and the terminal culling of kits based on markings.

Also, show rabbit breeders aren't culling for livelihood. There are no "professional" show rabbit breeders except for the ones who started off rich as hell to begin with. We do it because we are passionate about the breeds we raise.

-Chasing Tails: scrungled-ass Next Gen fic. AO3 Rating E. Premise is that the NaLu child, Nashi, wound up on Our Earth as a child then forgot her family, Fairy Tail, and Earth Land by the time she was 17. Then Natsu finally finds her. Lots of the original beloved FT characters are missing in the beginning and there's a mystery as to why that is. Believe it or not, this fic is supposed to be more humor than anything, at least to my heart. Updates are going slow right now but I'm getting better chapter by chapter, and I'm determined to finish.

-Ice and Igni: feral baby mammoth next gen fic based on the Stone Age Omake, which fascinates me. AO3 Rating M. premise is Greige & Nasha "discovering each other" sort of like Natsu and Lucy did, with the necessary premise feature that the male and female tribes were separated long ago under mysterious circumstances (why do i love doing this?)

-Reminiscing on the Hard Road: a Gruvia one-shot where I basically give one version of events that might have led to Juvia and Gray getting together through memories. Couple-angsty, breakup & makeup fic with a happy ending.

-Series I did for Nalu Week 2024 (AO3 Link). Day 1: Cuddling/Nightmare - "Princes to Dragons" (Link for on here). [This is still coming out 😬]

help i'm not sure what to do...

rant below (it's really really long, i just really needed to rant at something that wasn't my mind, i'm not actually expecting anyone to read it don't worry)

i don't really like the idea of posting about my life, mostly because i don't feel active enough for anything to actually come of it and i'm not even sure i want anything to come of it but you know what imma take this as free therapy as it's not like i would want to talk to the irl people in my life.

i have a really close friend who also has tumblr but always seems as though they didn't want me to know about theirs so i always tried not to even accidentally find it. i told them my old username before they had tumblr but then i changed it when they got it, mostly using it as an excuse because i never really liked my old one.

we both said we would never look for each others accounts, but today it was made quite clear that they at least knew my username, something i couldn't care less about but was a little annoyed they wouldn't stop lying to me.

they then suddenly lashed out at me, and sent me a picture of their account which i never wanted to see. i barely looked at it and merely complimented the colours and pfp, but still they were incredibly passive aggressive.

the problem is i know they're going through a really hard time right now and i really don't want to make it any harder by lashing out back or being equally as passive aggressive as i know i'm often inclined to be, and this is especially now when things are going so well between us as friends.

i'm never one for being incredibly close friends with one person as it is an idea that terrifies me, meaning for example i swing between calling absolutely no one my best friend to everyone i simply talk to and is relatively nice to me is my best friend. i know this probably seems like nothing but honestly since even the early years of primary school the idea of calling just one or maybe two people my best friend is just absolutely not.

for a while me and this friend got incredibly close and they started calling me their best friend, which i tried really hard to do back but the stigma i've built around it in my head made it really hard and made me feel really uncomfortable.

i'm awful at explaining things but i did my best to explain as such to my friend without hurting them because it doesn't mean i don't still want to be really really close, it's just one line i wasn't willing to cross and they seemed to respect that, giving me the tiny bit more space i personally needed.

i know at many points i will have made many many mistakes, but they have become the one person i trust almost completely to the point of not even worrying about the little slip ups i make around them and i don't do things such as worrying if i talked too much etc. because i trust that they understand me enough so that i don't worry.

but now they seem really angry, and i don't even know why, and so for the first time in ages i'm genuinely worried that i've messed something up just a little to much, not that that would be the first time someone's randomly decided to despise my guts when i don't know why so the possibility is entirely possible.

and i don't know what to do to try and patch it up, and even more importantly if there's anyway to still try and help them through the shit time they're having despite clearly not helping.

on top of that i don't know how to help them in the first place because my immediate reaction to anything is just complete sarcasm or 'lmao mood' i'm sure neither of which help.

so i shall leave all 0 of you who put themselves through reading that alone and thank you.

oh yes on the topic of submissions...

i had one from someone in my inbox from YONKS ago that tumblr is not letting me post for some reason. that person also sent me an ask about whether i could provide links to the videos/places i found the comments on (i would just answer their ask but it explicitly references their submission which, again, tumblr won't let me post... and also it was from ages ago) so let me answer that here

unless i think that mentioning the source amplifies the comment, or provides some humorous context, i usually don't do that as a general rule. if someone asks for the comment source and i still remember what it was, i'll tell them, but i don't tend to mention it explicitly on the post itself

i don't tend to redact pfps or usernames (to give some form of credit to the authors of the comments, sometimes they make the comment better, they're already public on the internet & usually posted on videos by youtubers exponentially more popular than my blog & usually post obscure comments i had to scroll for quite a while to find anyway, it's fun when someone recognizes their own username, etc etc), so this is an alternate method of security against people trying to be weirdos to the featured commenters. most of my posts come from youtube, which doesn't even have a direct messaging system anymore, which is simultaneously why i feel fairly comfortable leaving pfps/usernames unredacted on these comments and why i feel it's better if i try not to provide TOO many context hints at least in the actual text of the post. just on the off chance some bitter weirdo wants to try being a bitter weirdo, you know? and if someone goes all the way out of their way to try and track these comments down explicitly to bully these people, then at this point, it kinda seems like redacting that stuff wouldn't have helped anyway. while i definitely do not condone harassing anyone from here, i also... don't think it'd exactly be My fault there, and entirely the fault of this hypothetical extremely brainrotted rando. this has, to my knowledge, never once happened, but just putting that out there

i do give little hints or context notes in the tags on occasion, under the general assumption that anyone following this blog knows that this is a place of comment appreciation, an art gallery of Internet Humans. usually it only extends to mentioning the youtuber or what type of video it was, but as a general statement. this is the other part of my philosophy here: i enjoy hunting for comments as a sort of peoplewatching-esque hobby and i think other people should try it out (so long as they have the self-restraint to NOT reply to people even if they make you mad. it's never worth it man.). i also think it'd be a fun treat for someone to only get a hint, figure out what video it was, and then go on their own hunt and see the comments in the wild. i often skip over Loads that don't quite make the cut so you'll probably find something else fun in there

[ 1 ]⠀my favorite part for bot making is testing out bot responses !! the funniest things can happen, though there are occasions where i'd have to constantly tweak the bot until i'm satisfied. least favorite part is greetings. i love them, and i hate them just as much. since they're what makes and breaks the bot

[ 2 ]⠀some things i almost always regret is the way i word/phrase sentences in greetings. i also worry about whether or not what i'm writing is interesting or compelling enough. though, not everything has to be spontaneous when it comes to bot scenarios. just my brain being annoying, hehe. one bot that i do regret is he visits you in your dreams. i'll rewrite him eventually.
