i'll be lonely with you — MIGUEL O'HARA
SUMMARY: with the passage of time and whispers from your acquaintances at the spider society HQ, you've found out that your boss has a habit of sneaking out of his office during the dead hours of night to eat dinner. completely alone.
Tumblr media
NOTES: new formatting for fics !!! do you guys like it? :3 i decided to include summaries that way it would be easier for people to understand the general jist of the plot without me spewing nonsense in the notes. anyways enjoy !!!!! thanks for the support on my recent works as well ^_^
You didn't consider yourself the most introverted person.
Even when it came to hundreds of Spider-people, you tried to get to know who you could and become acquainted with as many of them as possible. How could you not?
However, there were few that you knew on a more personal level. People that you'd keep close to your side whenever you visited headquarters. People that you'd enjoy having an exchange of gossip with during lunch in the bustling cafeteria.
Miguel O'Hara wasn't exactly one of those people.
It's not like you didn't want to develop something more than a boss-coworker relationship. Though, conversations with him were always difficult, to the say the least. Most of the time, he's talking about work and anything that goes past that boundary goes unspoken.
Quite literally. You've forgotten the amount of times that you've built up the courage to mention anything about your other (not deceased) relatives or your friends and the amount of times that the room was filled with a silence so awkward that crickets are on the same volume as missile launchers.
Though, you didn't want to lose hope. You sort of understood where he was coming from. People go through grief and mourning in different ways, Miguel's was probably just isolation and a complete avoidance of discussions of personal life.
He was a leader. A good one. A trait of a good leader is to connect with their subordinates, establish relationships. So it really made you think.
How messed up was he that he missed that one quality?
"Hey. Your food's getting cold." There it goes, the sound of your train of thought leaving the station. Sometimes, you were grateful for Jess being there for you. She could snap you back to reality you like nobody else could.
You mutter an apology before stabbing your salad with your fork and taking a bite, Jess rests her head on her palm. Raising a brow at you, "So, did you want to eat lunch with me for fun or are you just using me to get info about Miguel? Again?"
Nervously, you shake your head. "It's nothing like that!" She leans in a little more, waving her other free hand in the air in a circular motion.
"...But if you have anything that you'd like to share then I'm not going to refuse entirely—"
"Oh my god. Fine, fine. What do you want to know?"
With that question, it felt like your mind blanked. You fidgeted with your fork, twirling a leaf of your salad against the plate as you pondered on what question to ask.
Jess responds with a deep sigh, "If you're trying to find a way to talk to him more, he doesn't leave that office of his much unless it's for work. He's in there most of time. Although..."
"Although?"
"Although, I've seen him come here normally somewhere around midnight to get a very late dinner alone. The place is less crowded, most are just in their own universe or sleeping or working."
Your face falls a little upon hearing that. "So I can only catch a non-serious conversation with him... in the middle of the night?"
"Exactly. Besides, there's a good chance he's going to just— continue talking about work with you whether he's in his office or not. You know that, right?"
You drop your utensil in defeat, burying your face shamefully in your hands. "I know..."
You quickly wrap up your lunch with Jess, as she shares bits and pieces about him. You had really wondered how she was able to learn all of these things about him anyway but before you had the opportunity to ask her, she told you to not.
Respecting her wishes, you keep your mouth shut. Respecting her even further, you decide to pack up both of your plates and wave her a goodbye before picking up those thoughts that you were left a while ago.
Admittedly, you didn't know why you were so persistent for something like this, for someone like him.
Determination was a strength of yours but that didn't mean that you didn't know where your limits rested and you would back off when you needed to.
There was just something. A swirling feeling in your gut that was telling you to keep going.
That it would be worth it.
So, you follow everything that Jess told you. Around midnight, he'd be alone, in the cafeteria, and looking for an empanada to snack on before heading back into his office. A very small fraction of his time left for personal conversation if you tried hard enough!
This most likely wasn't a good idea. You didn't sleep at all through the day but the thrill kept you alive and thriving. You confidently stride up to the counters of the cafeteria, picking out a small bag of chips for yourself and the last empanada for your soon-to-be snack companion.
Now, you wait.
You surveyed your surroundings and as you were doing that, you realize why he particularly emerges during these kinds of hours to eat. There was a significantly less amount of people.
Whenever you came here during the day, it was a miracle to be able to find completely empty seats. At times, you were forced to sit with a group of people.
You weren't entirely ungrateful for that though, you've made a lot of friends that way. Sure, it was awkward at first but the more you were forced to interact with people that way, the more you adapted to making small talk.
Even then, there were a lot of tables that were taken here save for one completely empty one at the far end.
Then, you finally see that navy and red suit.
Deciding to observe him just a little bit more, you watch him curse under his breath seeing the display case for the empanadas empty. Before he walks away any further, you tap him on the shoulder.
His mask was on, his eyes widen a little bit before you hand him the small box. "I saved the last one for you."
With a soft huff, you see the muscles in his shoulders and back grow loose once more, he hestitantly takes the container from your hands. Looking at it then looking back at you, "Thanks."
You two share a few seconds of awkward silence, you felt a little exposed. You decided to unmask for this because you wanted him to feel more comfortable talking to you rather than who you were as a Spider-person yet there's still that same awkwardness in the air.
Clearly without nothing to do and no idea on how to makem something better out of this, Miguel's about to walk off before you stop him once more.
"W— wait," A little piece of yourself dies inside as you hear yourself stutter but nevertheless, you keep going. "Uh, there aren't any other spots so is it alright if I sit you? I don't know any of the people here."
The way that you see the eyes through his masks narrow ever so slightly once the question escapes your throat makes your heart quiver like crazy.
You wanted to get to know him but damn, if you said that he didn't scare you sometimes then you would be lying.
You cry on the inside with sweet victory as he says...
"Fine."
That was it. That was all you got but you gladly take it! You have to catch up to him though because once you're done mentally celebrating, he's already a little bit far from you.
You try your hardest to keep your head straight but you can't help but look up and spare him one glance, the fact that you even had to look up at him really only emphasized your height difference with him.
Another factor that made you just a little bit more intimidated by him, his physique. You considered yourself to be of average height, you weren't the tallest person in the room but you were never the shortest as well. Just average.
The way he practically towered over you, his hand nearly being the size of your head. It made you feel something.
The moment that both of you have a seat, you take your opportunity.
"So, is there anything that you plan on doing after this?"
You get a little distracted once his mask comes off, he raises an eyebrow at you, crimson eyes that feel like they're looking straight into your soul. Though, side-tracked as he bites into the dough and meaty goodness of his empanada, with a shrug— he replies,
"Not really. Unless there's an anomaly I haven't heard of yet then I have no plans. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, nothing. Was just curious is all." Why was this so hard?!
The conversation goes as what you expected. You'd ask a question every moment or so and he'd give you a short response before going back to his food. He wouldn't ask you anything back, wouldn't add any 'unnecessary' comments. Just bask in the silence.
You simply couldn't take it anymore, you didn't know how to express your interest in him without asking him more questions about himself which he seems to avoid trying to answer.
You couldn't ask him about his hobbies because he'll most likely say that he's too busy working to actually spend time gaining and branching out to different interests.
Dejectedly, you sigh. "I'm sorry for imposing— on your alone time, I mean." It was like everything that you wanted to say just kept spilling out of your mouth.
"I didn't want to eat with you at this hour because I pity you or— or I found you lonely or whatever. I just thought that whenever you weren't talking about work, we'd be able to get along."
You stand up from your seat, eyes mindlessly darting arounf the labels of the bag of 'Spider-O's' in your clutches.
"I'll, uhm, let you eat in peace now. Once again, I'm—"
"Wait."
Which ever brain cells died from that interaction certainly reignited now. "Sit back down," It comes off an order. An order you certainly obey.
"I wouldn't have actually said yes to you if I didn't want to talk." He starts. "I know a lot of people but it's not in the same way that you do. I know their names, their faces, their canon events. You know their feelings, their mindscapes, and their troubles—"
"—And those are the exact kinds of things that I can't comprehend most of the time. We understand people differently, is what I'm saying. I still have no idea why exactly you sought out me of all people but I will... try to gain this new perspective of things."
You want to tamp down the smile that creeps up on your lips as you hear those words but you can't. What he said, it all made sense now. You couldn't see the full picture still, but you were willing to find it—
"I understand. It's fine."
"So? Do you have plans after this?"
Together.

❍ ‗ Taking care of you during your period x hyung line (skz) ‗ ❍
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Pairings : Chan x reader, Minho x reader, Changbin x reader, Hyunjin x reader
Genre/warnings : reader has periods, breasts are mentioned, mention of painkillers/mood swings/blood (yk), nothing else just fluff and really sweet boys
Summary : Like the title says, the oldest boys take care of you when you have your period. You are their s/o in this. Half headcanon and half scenarios.
Word count : 1.5 k
A/n : I'm currently on the FLOOR trying to get through this so I just, indulged myself I guess lmao! I hope it'll be an enjoyable read and also if any of y'all is also suffering now, good luck babes we got this <3
ps: There could be grammar errors, my first language isn't english!
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Chan ‗ ❍
First of all, he wouldn't be weirded out or immature about it at all, he grew up with women in his family so he wouldn't be completely oblivious. Second thing, he seems to be natually very nurturing and attentive, so you know for sure that you'd be well taken care of, more than usual.
Depending on how this time of the month would be for you, he'd act accordingly. For example, if you are usually on time or late, if you tend to suffer more or less. In general he'd probably remember the days/week and always make sure to have a little bit of every essential thing at home beforehand. Sanitary products, painkillers, snacks, comfort food; you name it, he got it. Wether you lived together or not, doesn't matter.
In the best case scenario you'd just be having a shitty day and he would make sure to spend time with you (full day if he's not working, and even then he'd check on you multiple times), taking care of you, cuddling and probably babying you more than you need. And you'd let him of course, even just to show him you appreciated him caring for you. He would be really attentive but... chill at the same time. He just wants you to be comfortable, not further stress you out.
On the other hand, if you were someone who usually hurt a lot or maybe had some issues related to your condition, then he would be more clingy. If hugs and cuddles were an actual solution you'd be CURED.
He hated seeing you in pain regardless, but if the pain in question was out of the norm/more severe he would absolutely be in the worst mood. Again, every supply possible would to be 100% ready at the right times, and you truly wouldn't be allowed to lift a finger.
"Channie, baby, I've been handling this stuff since forever, I'll be fine, okay?" and then he'd frown and pout like "But I want to take care of my baby, that's the least I can do". Of course you wouldn't be able to refuse him even if you wanted to, so you'd just end up accepting the help making sure to thank him all the time to let him know how grateful you were for him. <3
Minho ‗ ❍
Minho just kind of learned along the way how to take care of you at the best of his abilities. Something that seems to be very important to him is health, and you having your period to him it's almost like a seasonal cold. Something that just kind of happens? He would learn which foods or beverages help the pain/body, or the things that would make you feel better, but he'd be kinda random about it? lol.
"You know what? I really feel like eating some good meat for dinner" and he'd pull some shit like "Actually, I was thinking of salmon for tonight. You know, it would be very good for you now", Not gonna lie you would be lowkey impressed that he bothered to search up stuff like that in the first place. He wouldn't be pushy though, he couldn't deny you even if he tried. Want a specific dinner/dessert? It's yours. You want to watch a movie and cuddle? Done. Or do you just want to sleep and hug? Good enough for him. He just really wants you to have a calm and comfortable day.
This being handled as a health matter would also mean that he'd probably be quite precise with keeping track of the days/week. If being irregular wasn't a usual thing for you, one day late and he'd be asking questions lol.
"How are you feeling?" "Do you need anything from the store?" "Need any help?" and so on. Especially if we were talking about a person with more severe pain/issues.
At this point he would be a little more insistent with the whole "take care of yourself right" but only out of worry and you knew it. "I made some ginger tea for you" "But-" and you wouldn't be able to finish the sentence without him raising one eyebrow like 'I dare you'. Two minutes after the cup was EMPTY. You'd also get belly rubs with warm hands afterwards so it's okay :')
Minho would never miss to make you feel loved and taken care of, it's like he needs you to know that you can count on him whenever you need.
Changbin ‗ ❍
Changbin also grew up with a sister but I feel like he was the baby of the family so I think he'd try to replicate that more than anything. His s/o would be treated like royalty regardless, don't get me wrong, but during this time I feel like he'd feel bad for you and the fact that he can't really help, and would try to 'fix it' by indulging you a lot.
He probably wouln't keep track of the days/week, just in general. But, I think that he'd realize it quickly when you start acting a little off or being fatigued, and at that point he'd piece it together quickly and offer his help if he can. And if he can't, then he'll just settle with random gifts that could cheer you up. It could be something cute like a plushie, a treat like your favorite sweets, or something more unique like an expensive gift. You don't want him to spend such money on you, but you lowkey know that's his love language and appreciate it ten times more for it. He would also remind you of it "Shh, you know I love to spoil my princess", that would make you melt and he knows it well.
In a more severe case I think that he would make sure to not let you lift a finger. Dinner? Dishes? Medicines? Cuddles? Tissues for a particularly off moment? The remote being an inch too far? HE'S GOT IT. Changbin would also probably try to be there for you physically during this time and would get annoyed when he can't manage. At that point expect multiple calls and texts throught the day and maybe even a few cute selfies too that would never fail to make you smile and lift your mood.
If you happened to be crying, he would try to handle himself but just wouldn't be able to do it so you'd probably have a nice liberating ugly cry session together and then fall asleep hugged comfortably :(
He would also make sure that you're comfortable wherever you are, and that usually means completely laying on him, the best pillow in the house.
Hyunjin ‗ ❍
Hyunjin is shy and an empath, we know. I feel like at the beginning of your relationship he could be a little uncomfortable handling this situation, mainly because he'd like to help in some way but would be unsure of how to ask. You would also probably try to hide it or not mention it, you know like in early stages of any relationship, but out of shyness more than anything. You know he's a very sweet guy and he would probably feel bad that you feel bad. And he does.
One day during movie night you'd probably unintentionally flinch or hiss at the pain and then he'd decide that he had ENOUGH and would blurt out a "Can I do anything for you?". You'd be kind of taken aback but appreciate it a lot. You would give in "Yes actually" you wouldn't have to say it twice before he's back with what you asked for.
From that moment on I feel like it would be a process for him to learn how to know you and your needs and after a while he would just...do it. Which were your habits or comfort foods, your preferred type of sanitary products to use, what could make you uncomfortable and so on.
I feel like he wouldn't necessarily intentionally keep track of it but would randomly look at the date and go "Mhh, isn't this that time of the month?" and you'd probably show up with a belly ache and an extreme need of hugs so yeah he'd be like "I figured" and kind of laugh at you being cute.
You'd probably have something silly like a "Cursed week" playlist to cry to or a specific list of things to watch that would absolutely wreck you emotionally because why not. And you'd plan it together and go back to them like a routine. You probably have a very sad or angsty tv show/drama that you go back to once a month just to either cry your eyes out or comment together like two bitter old ladies. And you have a blast.
Hyunjin would try to be lowkey about it though. Once he learned how to properly take care of you he would just do things and not be obnoxious about it. Like he would be they type to leave a sticky note for you before leaving for work that said "Good morning my love. Remember to take it easy and take some medicine if you need, I love you <3"
In general I think that he would be the type to try and distract you as much as possible, wether it was with some nice cuddles to warm you up or even tease you to make you laugh. He could be out of pocket sometimes but that's exactly what makes it hilarious.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
This is it for the hyung line! Maknae line link. Hope you enjoyed my silly writing, feel free to leave feebacks if you feel like it :')

Adam rambled on nervously about Paloma's snack for about the fifth time as Cece followed him into the kitchen, nodding along to every word he was saying. She knew he was nervous to leave Paloma alone so she tried her best to seem interested even though he's repeated the same thing for what seemed like the millionth time.
As Adam rambled on, he suddenly stopped mid-sentence, an embarrassed flush creeping onto his cheeks. He realized he had been repeating himself, and Cece had been patiently listening the whole time.
"Sorry," he chuckled nervously, running a hand through his hair. "I guess I'm just a bit on edge with leaving Paloma alone. I want everything to be perfect for her."
Cece shook her head in understanding, "No don't even apologize! I appreciate it, I do tend to forget about stuff. And I get it, the first time is always the hardest."
Adam sighed, feeling grateful for her understanding. "Thanks, Cece. I know I can be a bit... overprotective sometimes."
"It's a good quality, especially when it comes to being a dad," she replied warmly. "I get it, I go crazy for my little brother. I'm pretty sure I would commit a crime for him," you joked playfully.
Adam chuckled, the tension in the room easing as he appreciated Cece's sense of humor. "Yeah, me too. Paloma is my world, and I'd do anything to make sure she's safe and happy."
Cece smiled warmly, a genuine warmth in her eyes. "I can tell you're a great dad, Adam. Paloma is lucky to have you." Her smile carried her feelings and she saw herself in Adam as he talked about Paloma. She was the same with her brother and her little nephew and niece.
His expression softened, and he returned the smile. "Thanks, Cece. That means a lot."
Comfort silence filled the kitchen before Adam got a phone call and cursed under his breath, "Shit, I'm late."
Cece watched as Adam's expression shifted from one of warmth to a sudden realization that he was running late. She could sense the urgency in his voice as he cursed softly.
"I gotta get going but call me if anything happens. And if I don't answer, call Luca or mom. Oh, you don't have my mom's number, let me give it to you in case-"
Cece let out a soft laugh as she put a hand on his shoulder in comfort, "It's fine, Adam. Don't worry I'm sure I'll get a hold of you, alright? Just relax and get to your meeting in one piece."
He took a breath and then laughed along with her, even though there was still some anxiety running through his veins. He nodded, "Alright, sorry about that, you're right." This was part of the process, it would be okay.
"Don't apologize, you're okay." Cece still had an understanding expression on her face as Adam took another deep breath before walking to the door and taking his keys.
"Alright, I'll see you in a couple hours. Paloma's sleeping right now but you remember-" He saw her expression and then let out an anxious sigh before nodding. "You got it?"
"I got it, boss." You joked playfully as he smiled. "Bye,"
"Bye." He took one more look around his apartment before leaving the apartment.
As Adam left for his meeting, Cece stood in the doorway, watching him until he disappeared from view. She then turned her attention back to the apartment, a newfound sense of responsibility settling in her heart. Taking a deep breath, she walked over to check on Paloma, who was still peacefully sleeping in her room.
The apartment was quiet, save for the gentle sounds of Paloma's breathing. Cece couldn't help but smile as she looked down at the sleeping toddler.
──
A FEW WEEKS LATER
──
Adam walked into the apartment after a long and grueling practice, his body feeling the weight of exhaustion. The familiar scent of home welcomed him as he closed the door behind him. He let out a sigh of relief, glad to be back in the comfort of his own space.
He entered the living room, he noticed the soft glow of dimmed lights and the sound of gentle music playing in the background. It was a scene he had grown accustomed to since Cece had become a part of their lives.
He made his way to the kitchen, where he found Cece cleaning Paloma's dishes. She looked up and smiled warmly when she saw him. "Hey, Adam. How was practice?"
She could tell he was tired, he has been for the entirety of the week. She respected how hard he worked at practice and how he still had energy for Paloma, even after an exhausting practice.
Adam stretched his tired muscles and replied, "Long and exhausting, per usual, but it's done. How's Paloma?"
Cece's smile widened. "She's been an sweetheart. We played and watched a Barbie movie, had dinner, now she's asleep in bed."
Adam felt a sense of relief wash over him. He had been anxious about leaving Paloma in someone else's care, but seeing how well Cece was handling everything put his mind at ease. Right as he was about to respond, the familiar cry of Paloma rang through the apartment.
Cece, out of habit, immediately dropped the dishes into the sink and walked out of the kitchen before Adam spoke, "Cece, it's fine. Let me go see what's up."
"Oh, alright-"
This had been a problem for the past week, Paloma throwing tantrums right after being put to sleep. Adam had tried everything he could think of to soothe her, but nothing seemed to work.
He made his way to Paloma's bedroom and found her sitting up in her crib, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Hey, sweetheart, what's wrong?" he asked softly as he lifted her into his arms.
Paloma clung to him, her tiny hands gripping his shirt as she continued to cry.
Adam's heart broke at his daughter's cries. He held her close and whispered soothingly, "It's okay, Paloma. Daddy's here, and you're okay." His arms were sore from practice but he couldn't get himself to leave her as she continued to cry loudly.
He gently rocked her back and forth, his heart aching as he tried to comfort her. Paloma's cries gradually subsided, and she nestled against his chest, her breathing slowly evening out. He didn't want to put her back in the crib because he didn't want to her wake up again and cry, so he stayed like that for a few seconds even if he was exhausted.
Cece walked in quietly and Adam put his finger on his finger to singal to be quiet. Paloma made a soft noise and Adam let out a sigh of exhaustion but to his surprise, she didn't start crying again as she saw Cece.
Instead, she sat up in Adam's arms and reached out to Cece, making a soft, wanting sound. Cece couldn't help but let out a laugh, her heart warmed by the sight of Paloma's tiny outstretched arms.
Adam slowly gave Paloma to Cece and she immediately held onto her, putting her head on her shoulder and her eyes immediately shut.
Adam watched with a mixture of relief and admiration as Paloma snuggled into Cece's arms, her cries now fully replaced by contentment. He had been worried about leaving her alone with the Cece, but this moment reassured him that he had made the right choice.
Cece held Paloma gently, her heart melting at the trust Paloma was placing in her. She swayed softly, creating a soothing rhythm that seemed to lull Paloma back into a peaceful slumber.
Adam couldn't help but smile at the sight. His daughter was finally finding comfort and security in the presence of another person. He made a gesture to the door to silently say he was going to leave and Cece gave him a sweet smile and a thumbs up with her free hand. As he left the room, his heart swelled at the new memory. He felt himself get used to Cece and Paloma together, it was a new welcome sight.
After he took a shower, he walked into the kitchen and he heard Paloma's bedroom door open quietly and then he turned to see Cece. She caught his gaze and smiled before walking up to him.
Adam felt comfortable as he saw Cece approaching him from the hallway. There was something comforting about her presence, something that put him at ease. He couldn't help but return her smile with a warm one of his own.
"Hey," she greeted softly, her voice carrying a sense of warmth and ease. "Paloma is back to sleep. I think she just needed a little reassurance."
"Good, I'm glad. Hopefully she sleeps the whole night." Adam sighed and he still sounded tired after his shower. You couldn't help but feel bad for him, you knew how much sports and a career could take a toll on a person. She couldn't even imagine on top of all of that, having a toddler to take care of. "And thanks, Cece. You're great with her."
She waved off his gratitude. "It's my pleasure, Adam. I enjoy spending time with her, she's such a sweet girl and she makes my job so much easier."
He nodded in agreement as he listened to her compliment. "She can be handful sometimes, but she's the best thing that's ever happened to me." There was a softness in his eyes as he spoke about his daughter, a deep love that was evident in every word.
Cece smiled warmly, her heart warmed by the genuine affection Adam had for Paloma. "It's clear how much you love her, Adam. It's beautiful to see."
Adam's gaze met hers, and for a moment, time seemed to slow down as they shared a silent connection. There was something about Cece that drew him in, something he couldn't quite put into words. He immediately internally yelled at himself, he couldn't ─ not with his nanny.
He cleared his throat, breaking the momentary silence. "Well, I'm glad you're here," he admitted, his eyes still fixed on her. "It's nice to have some company too."
Cece's smile brightened, and she took a step closer to him. "I'm here whenever you need me, Adam. For both of you." Her eyes widened as Adam looked back at her and she suddenly felt self-conscious. "Like, in a friend way. Of course," she laughed nervously.
Adam couldn't help but notice the sudden shift in Cece's demeanor, and he couldn't help but chuckle softly at her nervous laughter. He appreciated the clarification, even though part of him was tempted to explore where that unspoken connection might lead to.
"Of course, Cece," he replied with a warm smile. "Well, you're my first official friend in Ohio. Well, other than the team."
She returned the smile, "I'm honored, Adam." She laughed at that and he joined in a second later. The laughter filled the kitchen before she felt her phone buzz in her pocket.
"Oh shoot, I gotta get going. I have to pick up my friend,"
"No problem, Cece," Adam replied, his smile still lingering. "Thanks for taking care of Paloma tonight. And get home safe, text me when you get home." He wanted to self-palm himself after that one but Cece just smiled warmly at that, making all the anxiety melt away.
"I will, thank you. See you Monday," Cece replied, her warm smile making Adam's heart skip a beat. She waved goodbye before leaving, leaving Adam alone in the kitchen with a new sense of warmth and connection he hadn't felt in a while.

- @buckactuallys
Hi, and thank you! Have some morning after sappiness, I hope you enjoy! ☺️
-
The bed is empty when Buck wakes up.
This isn't an unusual thing, actually; given the chance, he likes to sleep in. And a lot of hookups like to have some space the morning after: get showered, get dressed, start their days, make it clear that it's time for Buck to show himself the door without actually having to kick him out. He knows that whole song and dance by heart, and it doesn't bother him that much, usually.
It doesn't usually work like that when he sleeps over at Eddie's. Chris is an early riser, and while Eddie is hit or miss, he's not usually much good at staying quiet before he's got a cup or two of coffee in him. Buck has woken up more than a few times to the sound of Eddie stumbling into something in the kitchen and then cursing about it in a blurry, sleep-hoarse voice.
The thing is, usually when he sleeps over here, he sleeps on the couch.
Buck rolls over, squinting at the clock that Eddie keeps on his side of the bed. It's not actually that late; just past 8:30. The door is closed, and the room is full of hazy, diffuse morning sunlight. The walls are still painfully bare even a year after Buck helped Eddie patch and paint the smashed-up plaster, but there's a new rug on the floor, a handful of framed photos on the wall by the door. Mostly Chris, but there's one of Eddie and Buck there, from May's graduation party, draped in beads and hamming it up for the camera.
It makes Buck smile a little as he folds himself upright, but he's not sure where to go after that. He can hear noise coming from the kitchen: the clatter of dishes, soft conversation. Chris is home. And Buck is here, in Eddie's bed, clearly having spent the night there instead of on the couch. It's a little late now to try to sneak out, unless Eddie wants him to go out the window. And they really didn't talk about any of this last night. It seemed very distant then, with Eddie pressing him against the mattress, Eddie's mouth hot against his, the searing eagerness of his hands as he pulled Buck closer and touched him like he'd been thinking about it for a while, but now—
Now, Buck really wishes he'd thought to ask.
Footsteps in the hall. He freezes, and has a moment to be profoundly grateful that he pulled on a pair of sleep shorts last night, because there's a knock at the door, and then Chris ducks his head in without waiting for an answer. He does not seem surprised to see Buck there.
"Oh good, you're awake," he says. "Dad says breakfast is ready. He burned the first two pancakes, but the rest are fine."
"Oh," Buck manages, slightly airless. "I'll, um. I'll be there in a minute."
"Don't take too long, or you'll get stuck with the burned ones," Chris warns, and retreats back out of the room. Over the roaring in his ears, Buck can just hear his clear voice saying something to Eddie that includes his name.
He swings his legs off the bed, scrounges the t-shirt he abandoned on the floor last night, and gets up. His heart doesn't stop racing all the way down the hallway, but when he steps into the kitchen, Eddie glances up at him and smiles.
It's easy, that smile. There's none of the panicked regret Buck was fearing in it at all.
"Morning," he says. "You sleep okay?"
"Uh, yeah." Buck scrubs the back of his neck. Chris is in the dining room, setting the table for the three of them. On the counter next to the stove is a plate of pancakes covered by a dish towel to keep it warm; butter and syrup and orange juice for Chris are already out on the table. There's a full pot of coffee steaming fragrantly on the counter
There's Eddie, leaning over the stove to slide the skillet off the heat. He scrapes at the patch of spilled batter that scorched on the burner, then sets the spatula down and turns back toward Buck. He looks—he looks soft, a little bit sleepy still with his fluffy hair and his rumpled t-shirt. He looks like Eddie. The way he's looking at Buck isn't even new, now that he's paying attention to it.
"Can I, uh, can I help with anything?"
"Mostly all done," Eddie says, but he hands the plate of pancakes to Buck. "Here, take this to the table, I'll grab us coffee."
Then he cups Buck's cheek, leans up just a little, and kisses him briefly on the mouth, so sweetly casual that Buck kisses back without even thinking about it.
It feels different than kissing him last night, all that heat and urgency. It feels different than lazily making out in the sleepy afterglow. It feels—easy, comfortable, real.
"So we're really doing this, huh?" Buck asks, soft, when they finally break apart.
Eddie laughs under his breath and kisses him again. "Yeah. As long as you want to."
"I want to," Buck says, so fast that Eddie laughs again, louder, as he steps away.
"Still need to talk to Chris," he says, pulling out a pair of mugs.
"I think he, uh, I think he's probably figured it out," Buck says with a faint wince. He was in Eddie's bed this morning. Chris is definitely old enough now to read between the lines there. Though at least he didn't seem upset.
Eddie snickers. "Yeah. But I want to do this right. This is important." He glances at Buck again. "You're important."
"Oh," Buck says, helplessly warm.
"After breakfast," Eddie says firmly, passing Buck one of the coffee cups in his hand. Cream swirls through it, and the porcelain is warm. "Come on."
Buck takes a deep breath, nods, and follows him out into the sunlit dining room.

Teasing game - pt. 4 (Zevlor x Tav)
part 1 part 2 part 3 part 5 part 6 part 7
A few more cups of wine had been exchanged among your friends, the mood of the group as best as it could be.
Wyll was still sure that Zevlor had been jealous and I was still sure he wasn't. Nonetheless he is back to his normal self, comfortably talking with the others.
"So, how do you plan on teasing him today?", Astarion said as he approached you.
"Oh, I thought I've done enough for today."
"Honey, you didn't even start. I mean it has been nice if you plan on spending the rest of your life with this little game. Maybe in 10 years you'd get him to kiss you."
You laughed and honestly you agreed to him. Zevlor is probably the most patient man you knew and you never noticed him interested in anyone at all.
"You are probably right.", you responded.
"Darling, you know I am."
But honestly, he wasn't.
You have been thinking about what to do the whole evening, even when most of the others were already asleep, while some of them still quietly talking.
Sleep didn't come easy for you, so as most of the nights you found yourself staring up at the stars with the only difference today being that your head was still spinning from the amount of wine you had.
Sitting up you stared at the water reflecting both the moon and the campfire. You couldn't sleep anyway, so why not go swimming?
You took a few steps away from camp just so you were out of sight, not expecting to see Zevlor there already in the water. His clothes were folded and laying near the water, his hair untied and wet. Some small drops of water were falling down from his hair and running down his back. You should turn around just going back to camp and act like you never saw him here at all. Thats until he turned around, he probably had heard your footsteps.
You turned around quickly.
"I apologize, I didn't plan to stare.", you said.
"It's fine, you probably just felt like cooling down in the water just as I did. I'll be leaving so you can have your turn.", he said.
"No, I don't want to interrupt you. I'll go somewhere else."
Honestly your bravery just left you in that moment. The image of him standing there in the water, the wet skin of his back shining in the smallest amount of light coming from your camp. You hadn't expected the amount of muscles on his body, which was dumb of you as you knew he was very well trained in fighting.
"Well, theres enough water for both of us here. If you don't want me to leave then feel free to join me.", he stated and you could feel his gaze on you.
"Are you sure it's okay?", you asked. You knew he was going to be okay with it, you just tried to keep the conversation a bit longer to collect some of your courage.
"I am very sure it's okay." You could hear the amusement in his tone.
"Fine.", you said and turned around towards him. His lower body was covered by the water, which you were grateful for. Not that you wouldn't have enjoyed the view but you were already overwhelmed by the sight in front of you.
His skin glistening, the drops of water moving along his skin and the way his gaze was on you with the small smile on his lips. You gulped and you knew it was too late to run away now.
He still hadn't turned around and the expression on his face told you he wasn't planning to.
You tried to hide your embarrassment and started undressing. Pulling your shirt over your head, you laid it down next to his clothes and continued pulling off your shoes and pants, leaving you in only your underwear.
His eyes were still on your form and you noticed your cheeks feeling warmer and warmer every second. You usually weren't shy about your body and with the wine running through you, you should be especially bold.
"Sorry, I should have turned around. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable.", he said as he probably had noticed your discomfort. It wasn't that you didn't want him to see you, but still you kept shying away from his glance. You looked in his direction and noticed he had turned around, which gave you the opportunity to fully undress and step into the water.
It felt cold on your skin, which gave a nice contrast to how warm your body felt, the effect he had on you.
You walked into the water, far enough to cover most of your body.
"It's so refreshing.", you sighed.
His eyes landed on you again and he nodded.
"That's true, the fire at camp and the wine had me feeling too warm, that's why I am here too.", he agreed. What he didn't say was that your presence had just the same effect on him.
"Did you enjoy the night?", you asked him. You should be making a move, it's like Astarion said earlier: he wouldn't do anything otherwise. It didn't make sense why right now you felt like a teenager, who is too shy to hold their crush's hand.
"I'm still enjoying the night.", he responded. He took a step closer to you, now standing right in front of you as he looked down on you.
You gulped and tried to look anywhere else but at him, which wasn't easy with him standing right in front of you.
His hand reached for your chin, moving it up so you had to look at him. He leaned closer, bringing his lips close to your ear. So close you could feel his breath on your skin.
"Do you think I am not aware of the game you have been playing with me?", he whispered.
A shiver ran down your spine and you were shocked. So he had noticed.
"I don't know what you mean.", you replied. Your voice barely even a whisper as you were still shocked by how bold he was right now.
"I think you do." He said and looked deep into your eyes. "You should be aware that two can play this game."
You knew what he meant the second you felt his tail on your leg. It wrapped around it and slowly moving up your thigh. He watched your face as your eyes grew wide. He pulled back his tail just moments later, obviously using your teasing game against you.
"Have a good night, my dear." He smiled and leaned closer to press a kiss on your forehead before he moved out of the water. You were frozen in place as you still felt the tingling on your leg, so close to where you wanted him to touch you.
When you finally moved again and turned your head in his direction, he was already dressed and on his way back to camp.
What did you get yourself into now?

The 1st trimester
The test
In which rolan begins care of his pregnant wife
I wrote this on my phone at work there will be typos so shhhhh lol
I'll try to clean it up later
The news was hardly unexpected but thrilling all the same.
Their love life was one of near constant need to be held which on most occasions became the desperate to explore each other. However, as of late, Rolan found himself waking up to sensation of the beds weight shifting in a hurry.
She always struggled to be quiet as she could despite being ill in the mornings. He would make her tea that 1st time, demanding she stay in bed to sleep whatever bug she had off.
And sleep she did, damn near half the morning was spent with blankets pulled all the way up to her ears.
By late morning she had washed up and come downstairs, saying she felt fine. The rest of the day was much the same, but when Rolan held her close he felt something a bit off. She smelled a little different, so he placed a hand on her head and looked at her with concern.
"Are you sure you're alright?"
She just nodded at him, his warm body making her feel a bit sleepy.
The following day was much the same, though this time Rolan insisted on her staying in bed. He found himself quite worried as she curled up against him in the night, shivering from cold.
Again the 3rd day she was ill and fine again, that was really quite enough. This time she stayed in the wide bed with its many thick comforters without a fight.
Rolan grumbled to himself as he went downstairs, spotting cal finishing breakfast.
"Is she feeling better today?"
He shook his head in response.
"Can you go fetch a cleric? I think I know what's going on, but I need to be sure."
Cal nodded before stuffing the last corner of toast into his mouth and dusting the crumbs off his hands. Lia set a plate of eggs toast and hash brown down for Rolan and herself.
"You think she's got a bug or something?"
"Or something"
Lia raised an eyebrow at him, handing him a teacup and setting the kettle down between them.
Near an hour went by before cal came back with an old woman from openhand temple. She shuffled in, while Cal ran off to fetch Rolan she stood in the middle of the room looking around. When finally Rolan arrived for her, she was staring with much interest in the shops small herb gardens.
"Thank you so much for coming ,my wife is up stairs- are you alright with stairs or would you like a portal?"
She looked up at him from under drooping eye lids, giving a relieved sigh as she shook his offered hand.
"A portal would be a appreciated, can't do much with these old knees but tell the weather."
He chuckled as he lead her to the back of the place, winding a hand and opening a glittering white hoop of light. Rolan was careful to keep the opening low for the old woman who balanced herself on his forearm as she stepped over. The room was dimly lit, sun spilling over from behind long dark red curtains. The old woman went over to the mass of breathing blankets on the bed and snickered. Again Rolan hurried off and came back with a chair for the cleric to set herself on.
She did so grateful for his care, then set about pulling the blanket back and looking over the sleeping woman. One eye opened blearily to look at her then over to Rolan who stood looking pensive behind her.
"Did you fetch a cleric because I'm tired?"
"You've been ill for three days."
"I'm fine."
The cleric placed her cool soft hand paper thin skin on deyllas forehead, touching around her ear.
"Can you sit up for me dearie?"
They both watched as the old cleric took a leather pouch from off her wait and set it in the table. Her hands moved slow with arthritis laden knuckles bulging. The cleric smiled as Rolan hurried over to help Dwylla out from under the covers.
"You keep up like that and you'll have yourself one spoiled woman you know."
Rolan blinked in confusion, though when he looked over a mischievous smile played over the old woman timeworn features. She was teasing him.
"I do believe that's my job isn't it?"
She just chuckled at him before going about a normal check up asking question after question.
"You're a lovely couple so ill assume you've been sexually active then?"
Rolan nodded, dwylla yawning new feeling quite sleepy again.
"I think I know what we've got but we'll be sure of it."
They watched her prepare three tiny vials and then open three separate little swabs.
"Open up"
Dwylla found herself glaring at Rolan while the inside of her cheek was smudged over with a dry uncomfortable nub of cotton, then twice more. Together they watched her pop them into the little vials, give each one a little shake and set them back down. Rolan tightened his jaw as he watched the light blue liquid in each vial begin to twinkle.
Dwylla raised an eyebrow as it became a more bold blinking before suddenly each tiny vial glowed a bright glittering gold.
"Well that's it then, congratulations!"
Rolan stood up, not having noticed that he'd been leaning down. He clapped a hand over his mouth and turned away. The cleric blinked a bit surprised, until her turned about with a smile so wide it left his eyes as little glassy presents.
" You're sure??!"
"We did three tests to be sure dearie, you're gonna be a father."
He crawled over the bed and grabbed his sleepy wife's by her shoulders and peppered her face with a series of quick short kisses.
"Can I go back to sleep now?"
"Anything you want!"
He let her curl back up and pressed the heavy blankets back up around her. Again, the cleric watched with approval as she picked up her small mess.
Rolan helped her back out the portal thanking her profusely as he walked her out.
"It's good to finally see someone happy about the news, you shoul help me back to the temple. I think I've a few things you're going to want."
Rolan waved to Cal and Lia before following the cleric out, her light hand holding firmly to his forearm as they went.
"It's good news but I'm afraid not a single one of us has ever assisted in the care of bringing a new tiefling into the world. So we won't be of much use as midwives but I'll give you what I've got so you can learn a bit for yourself. You seem like you rather take care of herself anyway."
"That's a shame, having help would be nice but I'm happy to accept whatever you think is proper."
The old woman smiled up at him as they went up the low stairs that lead in. He made sure stay still as she used his arm to leverage herself up each step, pausing to huff and puff and doorway. Finally she lead him to a small office and plopped down in a squat wide chair. She pointed to a shelf nearby
"On that shelf, 3rd one down. You're gonna want the first three books there, take em. I hope it helps."
With that she shooed him out and promptly fell asleep in her chair by the window. On his way out Rolan left a fistful of coin in the charity box, a little disappointed at the hollow noise it made as it clattered down.
As he walked back to the tower, he flipped through the 1st book. All kimd of anatomy and physiology of various races, though he noted how thin the portion in tieflings was. The next book charted the standard pregnancy of most races, including tips and recipes on handling various problems, again with a very thin portion on the care of tiefling mothers. The final book was aftercare for most races,
Again, the portion for tieflings was very thin, though he mused it's all that was available.
He would have to fix that.
He paused in the middle of the market when he spotted a familiar face bustling about inside a bakery.
They could probably help, he hurried over and shuffled in. The line had just begun forming and as he stepped in line, he found that the line behind him went out the door.
At the register he found Bex looking at him shocked, she went around the side of counter give him a hug whether or not he liked it. He grinned at her round belly.
" oh my goodness, I thought you'd never visit!"
He looked at her face now a bit rounder than before, then down to her belly.
" oh is this three now?"
" yep! The other two are starting studying with Alfira this morning."
With her hands on her hips she looked down at rolans books and raised an eyebrow at him, a sly smile plastering itself on her face
" I was wondering if you could come by tonight, you might be the local expert on the topic."
He raised one of the books to show off how thin its tiefling content was. She waved off the book before going back behind the counter and plopping. Pile of past tied and cookies into a box. She plopped it on top of his books and said firmly.
"That's free for the woman who can put up with your nonsense, the family and I will be by today after closing, dinner it is?"
Rolan couldnt hide the relief as his shoulders drooped.
" Yes, dinner it is!"
With that he hurried back to the tower, grinning unlike himself the entire way.

[page 1] H: Hey. Their first meeting was terrible.
[page 2] Whenever they see each other, they would always fight. But as time passed, they forged a strong bond. Their feelings towards each other started to change, and now, the two of them… …have gotten married. *DING DONG~* Don't think too much about it.
[page 3] (We Got Married)
[page 4] (Morning Routine) Zzz… Krrr…. Zzz… *tick* *Rrrring—* *SMASH* Zzz… zzz….
[page 5] *slides* S: Good morning… H: How many times have I told you!? Stop destroying our alarm clocks! G: Huh!? Like I care! Anyway, you're always so noisy every morning! S: Good morning, Kagura-chan. G: Don't use alarm clocks, then! Wake up on your own!! K: Yeah. Morning. H: Well, thanks to a certain someone's noisy ass snoring I keep not getting enough sleep!! G: What'd'ya say!? My snoring is not that loud! S: Good morning, Sadaharu. Sa: Woof. H: You snore so fucking loud, you know! Also I have sleep apnea! G: Wait, really!? G: Stop nagging for rice. I forgot to cook some. G: Come on, just quickly eat that and go. Go eat rice or whatever you want with some girl who fell down from the sky. H: Don't justify this by saying it's fine because Ghi*li characters eat it!!
[page 7] *flip* H: Ah, dammit! There's no time left! *slides* G: Wait! You forgot something, hey!! H: Huh!? *grabs* *SMOOOOOOOOCH* G: Have a safe trip!!! H: See you when I get back!!! *rattles* *slam* S: When'll they stop doing this every morning? K: I know, uh-uh.

[page 9] (Always Saying This or That) Y: Huff… huff… huff… *whoosh* *whoosh* Y: Huff… huff… huff… G: Are you always doing that? Y: Aaaahh! B-Boss!? Y: Why are you here!? G: I'm just delivering something, that's it. Y: Huh?
[page 10] G: Here. G: That damn Hijikata ran off without it this morning. Seems like it's something important? Y: This is… yeah, it's an important document! Y: But the vice chief is in a meeting right now… G: It's fine. Just pass it to him later. G: Gin-san went all this way to deliver it, so tell him he should be grateful. Y: Ah… Boss, hold on! Y: Wanna come with me for a bit?
[page 11] G: It's sho good!! Sho damn good!! *munch munch munch* Y: We got it as a gift and had leftovers… G: Sho good!!! Y: I'm glad you like it. G: Man, you guys sure have it good. Getting good food and high pay… Y: W-Well… It's really not as good as you think… Y: Our job is just that rough, so… G: Speaking of job, G: he's been coming home late recently, is he busy? Y: Huh? Ah… Vice chief duties have indeed been particularly busy lately. G: Hmmm… I see. *sips*
[page 12] Y: It's kind of… still a little bit hard to believe. G: What is? Y: Your marriage. Y: Never in my dreams had I thought that the vice chief and Yorozuya's boss would be bound together in that way… Y: Ah, but I don't think it's weird or anything! Y: I really sincerely wish you two the best… G: I get what you're trying to say. G: Well, I never thought things would turn out like this, either. Y: But, really. When you told us you were getting married, I was so surprised.
[page 13] H: We have… H: …decided to get married.
Y/K/O: HUHHHHHHHHHH!?
[page 14] Y: W-What do you mean!? K: Huh? What? Married…!? O: Are you saying this while understanding what's between both of your legs? H: I know what you're trying to say. H: It's true that we're both men. H: What I'm saying is, I want to be with him so much that stuff like that doesn't matter to me. K: To-Toshi… Are you serious…? H: Yeah. K: You're really getting married? H: Yeah. K: With the Yorozuya? H: Yeah. K: You're fine marrying him!? H: Yeah. K: Yorozuya… you're also fine with this? G: Sure, I'm fine, whatever. K: … *smack!*
[page 15] K: I understand. K: If you're saying this now, I'm sure you've properly given it a lot of thought and consideration. K: We're not in the place to tell you anything. K: Toshi… Be happy. H: Kondou-san…! H: Thank you… H: Thank you…! G: *yawns*
[page 16] Y: … Y: It's been half a year since then, huh… Y: Honestly, Boss, I thought that even though you married him, you don't really care for the vice chief that much, but… Y: That's actually not the case, huh? G: Huh!? G: I don't feel anything for him! I only think of him as my ATM, okay!? Y: Naaah, even if you're always saying this or that, Y: you're always concerned about him and worry about him, right? Y: I thought, I guess you really do love him. G: Lo-…!? G: It's not…
[page 17] G: It's nothing like that at all… H: Hrrrgghackh!? Ha: Vice chieeef!? What happened!? Ha: The vice chief suddenly coughed out blood!! H: Just now… I received signals of Gintoki's love… *faints* K: Toshiiiiiiiiii!!!! G: Sometimes I regret it, though. Y: … K: Pull yourself togetheeeer!!
[page 18] (Wedding Ring) Y: By the way, you two don't wear wedding rings? H: I bought a pair, but my job is like this, so. H: Better if I don't wear it. It'd be bad if I lose it. G: I-I also… put away mine… uh-uh… G: Somewhere. H: Hey, did you lose your ring!? H: No wait, it's you we're talking about. You pawned it off, didn't you!! G: I’m not that awful of a person, okay!! I can find it if I look!! Probably!!
[page 19] (Demon Wife) M: Alriiiight! I'm treating all of you today, M: so go ahead and order anything you want! ♀1: Ahh, Toshi-san, you haven't been coming here, so I've been missing you! ♀2: Me too! ♀2: Come on, drink up ♡ H: Nah… I'm good… O: Hijikata-san, what's wrong? You're sweating bullets. H: I mean, I should be sweating if I'm at a place like this. H: Even though I'm here because the old man forced me to, H: if he finds out, I'm screwed… O: Yeah… You're right.
[page 20] K: Tosshi is late tonight, uh-uh. S: He's probably busy working again. G: Yeah, probably. *chime* G: Who is it? (A phone Hijikata makes him carry ->) *flip*
[page 21] H: Nothing happened and I was there as a part of work, so I should just act like usual, right… H: I'm home… G: Welcome back! *peeks* *ah!* G: You're home late. H: A-Ah, it's because of work, y'know… G: Hmmm… I see. G: Hijikata-kun, you're tired from work, so… G: Do you want dinner? G: Or a bath? G: Or… G: A bloodshed?
[page 22] *step step step step* H: Heeeeyy!! What's this all of a sudden! Why are you so clearly trying to kill me!? *step step step step* G: It's no use playing dumb!! Okita-kun contacted me earlier…
[page 23] G: …and sent me this picture! *bam* (From: Okita. Subject: Having fun) H: Sougooooooooooo! G: How was it!? How was the alcohol poured by pretty ladies, hm!!? G: It definitely tasted good, huh!? Man, I'm so jealous, you bastard!! H: That's what you're jealous about!? H: The old man forced me to come with him! H: He's my superior, so I had no choice, okay!? G: Well, I guess there's no choice if it's a superior… G: Looking at it again, you clearly looked like you hated it anywa…
[page 24] G: You didn't hate it at aaaaaall!! *GRRAAAHHHH* H: It's not that! It's because I was drunk! H: I wasn't enjoying it at all! G: …Then… G: You should've at least contacted me beforehand!!! *whoop* *rattle* H: Alright, then I'm sorry for not contacting you!! H: My bad!! *clink* *clang*
[page 25] H: Ah!! H: Heey! Help me convince him!! *PUNCH* H: Why is no one in this house on my side!? S: That's not the case at all. *pat* H: Glasses…! S: As long as you keep putting your money into Yorozuya, I'll be on your side. G: Alright. Good job, you two. S: Um, Gin-san… To the point of telling us not to be on his side, isn't that too much… G: It's fine. He should have this much done to him.
[page 26] (Wife-Bragging) G: Here. H: Huh? H: …. G: Come on, hurry up and take it.
[page 27] H: Wait, wait, wait! H: What are you doing here!? G: What'd'ya mean, "what"? I'm making lunch. H: Lunch…? What happened to our usual lunch lady? G: Ah, about that… G: Seems like all the old ladies at the barracks had a cold all at once, so I was asked to make lunch G: by the gorilla. H: If that's the case, you should've told me that this morning… ♂: Boss! ♂1: The lunch was absolutely delicious! ♂2: Thanks for the meal! G: Sure. H: ….
[page 28] Ha: Yorozuya's boss is amazing, huh. Y: Why suddenly say that? Ha: I mean, not only that he can be said as the strongest when it comes to swordsmanship, Ha: but he's even also good at cooking. Ha: Isn't he perfect? Ha: To add to that… Ha: When you get a good look at him, he's also quite good looking, right? Ha: Although I don't swing that way. Y: I totally get that! Y: Ah, this miso soup is good. *sips* *SLAM*
[page 29] Ha/Y: Vice chieeeeef! *sits* Ha/Y: Shit, here comes the hassle-maker! H: Huh? This tastes different than how he usually makes it. Y: O-Oh, really… Ha/Y: He's trying to brag about how he eats his cooking all the time! H: Usually it goes down the throat easier. H: Today, it's like, thicker, or like, saltier… *CRASH* G: Don't eat it if you're going to complain about it!! Ha/Y: He has a point. Y: V-Vice chief, are you alright? H: No big deal. H: It's always like this, you see. It's his way of showing affection, you see. Ha/Y: He's still saying that.
[page 30] Ha: I guess the vice chief is the one being lead by the nose, huh? Y: He's walking all over the vice chief, huh? Y: Hm!? *hides* Ha: What's wrong? Y: It's the boss. Y: He's coming into the vice chief's room. Y: Is the boss going to yell at him again? Heh heh. H: Gintoki! G: Hey. ….
[page 31] H: ! H: What's wrong? G: …Something we don't usually do… H: Huh? G: Usually, there's Shinpachi and the others, or you'd be away at work, so… G: …I tried doing it. H: I see. H: You're right. Ha/Y: The ending is pretty wholesome, thoooough!!!!!? (end)
[page 32] I released this book in 2015, but I came up with this concept 8 years ago… (I drew it on my drawing blog) The wife who would become Shiroyasha in fights. Hijikata-kun, who in fact wasn't enjoying his time with the girls, but was actually bragging about his wife. H: My wife… H: Then, he's like… Thank you to everyone who has read this book!

TMNT All 4-1 Challenge
Tumblr media
I kept debating on whether or not to participate but I loved all of the entries I've seen and felt compelled to write this.
The Gracious Hosts: @turtle-babe83, @thelaundrybitch, @leosgirl82, @tmnt-tychou, @nittleboo, and @post-apocalyptic-daydream
18+ and a little NSFW towards the end (maybe?)
I chose the pick up line prompt since I've had a few saved up for a Donnie x reader idea and what better time than now to use them. I edited as I wrote so if I did miss something, sorry in advance for any errors.
Is it bad? Probably. Am I proud of the Homestuck reference? Very. Did I expect Donnie's reaction myself? No, and I wrote the damn thing!
Rise! Donnie x F! Reader - All turtles and reader are over 20 years!!! Minors DNI!!
Shut Up.
So give me your two lips And baby, I'll shut up Shut Up - Greyson Chance
The lair around you was silent. With a huff you turned onto your stomach, clutching the pillow you were given close to your chest. The brothers allowed you to stay with them while your apartment building was being renovated after one of the tenets caused a kitchen fire so bad that it affected several floors.
Although your back has grown stiff from sleeping on their couch for the past week, you were grateful for their hospitality. Splinter often kept to himself, spending much of his free time with Draxum in the Hidden City. Mikey enjoyed having an extra pair of hands that knew their way around a kitchen and Raph began teaching you a few self defense moves, in return you showed him the basics of yoga. Leo was just glad to have another person around with insomnia. The two of you often stayed up late to play video games, mostly Pokemon, as well as watching the newest season of the latest hype anime show.
The only turtle seemingly upset of your extended stay for whatever reason was Donatello. It’s not that you two didn’t get along; quite the opposite actually. You were two peas in a pod. Almost inseparable. For almost the whole year you’ve known the brothers, the two of you spent countless nights working beside each other in the lab, you working on your novel while Donnie worked on upgrades or new inventions. He was the first and last person you talked to everyday. You shared your past with him, your dreams and fears. On the flip side he told you everything about his work and life. He even confided his insecurities to you one late night after a particularly rough run in with a mutant. You picked up some of each other’s hobbies, at least the ones you didn't already share, having a plethora of inside jokes.
One of your fondest memories with him was when he took two whole weeks to play your favorite video game series, freaking out over every decision he was forced to make and insisting that you stayed with him the whole time. You couldn’t refuse him when he called you, practically begging you to come over while he rambled about the first hard choice he had to make. You packed a small duffel bag and hunkered down in his room with him for the entirety of those two weeks.
Honestly, you were certain that you'd do anything he asked you to.
It was no secret that you harbored a massive crush on the resident genius, you realizing your feelings early on. His brothers knew. April knew. Splinter and Draxum knew. Hell even Hypno and Warren knew! The only person who didn’t was Donnie himself.
It wasn’t for lack of trying. As soon as you came to terms with your crush you tried dropping hints to Donnie, but nothing seemed to work. Except one day, you took Leo’s advice several months back.
“If you were words on a page, you’d be what they call fine print.”
You almost regretted saying those words. Almost.
Donatello was pushing himself in his chair throughout his workspace. Upon hearing your words he spun around a bit too carelessly. One of the chair wheels caught one of the many cables that littered his lab, resulting in his chair to tip sideways, sending him onto the floor. He quickly hid his face from your view but you were certain you saw a touch of pink on his cheeks.
Oh… That was something…
Suddenly the alarm sounded throughout the lair, informing the brothers that they were needed elsewhere. You stayed behind in Donnie’s lab once they all left, giddy that you finally got some kind of reaction from him.
However when they returned he acted as though nothing happened. But you didn’t let it get to you. For months you tried to get the same kind of response from him, saying one bad pick up line after another in hopes that he would take the hint.
“Are you an F5 key? Because that ass is refreshing.”
“You must be the square root of 2, because I feel irrational around you.”
“You seem to be traveling at the speed of light, because time always seems to stop when I look at you.”
“Are you made of Uranium? I’m made of Iodine! That explains why all I can see is U and I together.”
“If you were a bottle of Sprite, I’d obey my thirst.”
Each time he remained stoic, often responding to any pick up line in almost a literal sense, seemingly unaware of your poor attempts to elicit some kind of reaction from him.
Frankly, you were beginning to grow annoyed. You didn’t know if he was playing dumb or just flat out rejecting you. His brothers encouraged you to keep trying. Mikey even let slip one day that Donnie has ‘that look’ about him when you’re brought up in conversation.
Which brings you back to now. Unlike the others Donatello made himself scarce during the week you’ve been staying on their couch, finding any excuse to be where you weren’t. You thought back to the last pick up line you told, the first thing you said to him when you arrived at the lair for your stay.
“I’m just hypothesizing, but I think that the reaction between you and me would be quite exothermic. Care to plot some data points?”
Donnie promptly turned around and walked back to his lab, not coming out until the following day. Since then he barely spoke more than a few words to you.
It hurt.
Maybe it is pointless…
You flipped dramatically onto your back, your legs twisting in the lightweight blanket Raph lent you. The dark expanse of the ceiling was all you saw, the quiet hum of the silence providing white noise as you bit your lip.
Fuck it.
Shoving the blanket off you stood up from the couch and walked towards the subway cars that served as the brother’s rooms. You soon arrived at Donatello’s car and knocked on the closed door. When you got no answer you let yourself in, the metal door sliding open with ease. His lab was locked, the irregular beat of techno music barely audible through the nearly impenetrable door.
You steeled your nerves and placed your thumb on the fingerprint scanner that turned green, allowing you access into his lab. The door slid open and you quickly entered his lab, the door promptly shutting behind you. The music was much louder, reverberating off the metal walls.
Once you made it to the main part of his lab you saw him slumped over his desk. You smiled and shook your head.
You made your way over and turned off the music from the computer console in front of him, putting a hand on his shoulder. He jumped slightly, waking up at the sudden lack of music and the feel of your hand.
Once he realized it was you his body stiffened. “You should be sleeping.”
You rolled your eyes. “You’re one to talk. I don’t know how you can sleep like that.”
The two of you stayed like that for a short moment. You let your hand drop and bit the inside of your lip. It’s now or never… Just say how you feel…
“Um… Want to come back to my Quest Bed?”
And you blew it… God, why did you listen to Leo in the first place?
Donnie frowned at you. “What…?”
Well you’re in too deep now… Might as well get this over with so you can die of embarrassment and he can continue ignoring you…
“My Quest Bed. I can help you reach God Tier…”
He stared at you with a neutral expression, unmoving. You had no idea what was going through his mind which only added to your nervousness.
Finally he let out an amused breath before standing up. You watched his eyes shine in the purple light that filled the room.
“So you want to put me to sleep, then kill me?” He raised an eyebrow in curiosity, the smallest hint of a smile playing at the corner of his lips.
You licked your lips, catching the way his gaze shifted down to them before going back to your eyes.
Oh…
Don’t fuck this up…
“Well, you know what they say about ‘la petite mort’.”
Donnie’s eyes closed as he took a shaky breath.
“You really are trying to kill me, huh?” His eyes focused on yours once more as he took a step forward, leaving only a few inches between the two of you.
“For months, you’ve been testing my patience with all those dumb pick up lines… I thought you’d stop if I didn’t acknowledge them but you just kept at it…”
Your heart quickened as you realized the implication in his words.
“Do you have any idea what you do to me…?”
You chuckled a bit under your breath. Your soft chuckling soon turned into pure laughter which only confused him. “I’m sorry.” Your laugh died down as you gave him a large grin. “It’s just, out of all the pick up lines it was that one. Damnit…”
He huffed. “Shut up.”
You bit your lip with a smirk. “Make me.”
Before you could react Donnie grabbed your waist, placing a hand under your chin to tilt your head upwards, his lips finally meeting yours. You practically melted in his arms, letting out a soft moan as your hands laid flat against his plastron.
All too soon he drew back. The hand under your chin moved to cup your cheek, his thumb brushing against your lips. His dark eyes shone mischievously.
“Now, what did you say about reaching God Tier?”
It’s safe to say that the both of you got no sleep that night.

Ok, so this my first time requesting. But, in honor of Elvis’s Birthday could you write something where Elvis and reader spend a day together and just do fun stuff (like go to club handy) for his birthday. Just fluff pls.❤️❤️❤️thanks!
King For A Day
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Pairings: Elvis x Reader and/or Austin!Elvis x reader Word Count: 769 Warnings: so much fluff it makes you wanna cry A/N: Thank you for the request Anon! Sorry, it's a bit late I was editing the other stories I had planned so I just got to this one today. I hope you enjoy it! (Also, Austin is lookin' hella fine at the golden globes. Just wanted to make sure the girlies were aware.)
◇──◆──◇──◆──◇──◆──◇──◆──
You had been awake for the last hour and a half trying to get Elvis' birthday breakfast ready. He usually slept in so that allowed you a couple more hours to bang around in the kitchen while he rested soundly.
You had prepared quite the assortment of bacon, sausages, pancakes, cut fruits, cheeses, and of course his toast with peanut butter and bananas; although you hoped he would eat all of the other things you had prepared.
Just as you finished setting up the table and cleaning the last of the dishes unbeknownst to you, Elvis had already woken up and had been standing by the steps watching you.
You had music playing softly from the record player and you hummed along while you washed the dishes. The sight alone was enough of a birthday present for him, never mind all of the festivities you had planned for him that day. Elvis grew tired of just watching you so he crept up behind you and slipped his hands around your waist. Although the touch startled you initially, you could recognize his large warm hands anywhere.
"Good morning honey. Did you sleep well?" You leaned back into his chest as you spoke putting your full weight against him.
"I'm doin' good baby. This is a wonderful sight to wake up to." He tightened his arms around you and leaned his head into your neck. He was still sleepy and his mannerisms were so endearing to you. You rest your hand over his palm as you speak, "I made some breakfast! Do you want to eat before the gang gets here, or do you want to wait?"
Elvis liked being around other people but right now he just wanted to be able to spend a slow and lazy morning with you.
"I'll eat before they get here I want ya all to maself." He puffed a breath into your neck when he finished and your answering giggle made him tighten his arms around you.
" I think I'll wait to see 'em until we get to Club Handy I want as much time alone wit ya as possible." Although his words sounded like they meant something else you knew they meant he wanted cuddles and kisses from you.
You kissed his cheek "Of course, honey, come on the food getting cold." You threaded his fingers through yours and led him to the table where you sat down next to each with hands still intertwined.
You fed him pancakes with 'Happy Birthday!' written in chocolate chips while he spooned cut strawberries and apples into your mouth. You kept your head leaned against his neck and sang his praises; telling him how much you loved him, how lucky you were to have him, and how handsome he was. He ate it all up and gave you grateful kisses and hugs in between each declaration.
You both cleaned up the kitchen before making your way upstairs to your bedroom where you proceeded to lay in each others arms until well into the afternoon.
Elvis' arms were wrapped around your waist and his head tucked into your collarbone. He let his hands rub circles into your side while you raked your fingers through his silky locks and kissed his forehead.
Eventually, when the clock struck 8, you both needed to get up and start getting ready to go to Club Handy for his actual birthday celebration. You both had matching outfits picked out. He was in a dark brown suit with no shirt under and you donned a brown dress accessorized with jewelry he had gotten you.
He kissed you as you applied your makeup and you did the same to him while he buttoned his suit jacket. The drive there was uneventful save for the fact that he had his hands intertwined with yours at any given time. He rubbed your knuckles and pressed his fingers into your palm.
You both stepped out of the car outside the back entrance to the club and made your way in.
The whole night was spent with drinks passed around, rambunctious laughter echoing off the walls then mingling with the sounds of the jazz playing in the background, and Elvis' arms wrapped securely around you. He brought you everywhere with him. Whether he was talking to friends or just standing alone. You always occupied the space directly in front of him and his arms never left you.
You were both content with that; and although you sang him happy birthday the softest, he heard you louder than everybody else. He felt so powerful at that moment. He felt like he had been crowned king for a day.

Done! I was listening to the Actors Round Table video with Austin while writing this and can someone explain to me how tf his voice is so attractive. Seeing all these hot people everywhere just reminds me how painfully single I am. 😭

Hi, can you do a request where kyoko kirigiri confesses her love and comforts a depressed male reader who gets executed instead of makoto and survives?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Omg, my first request... I'm kind of nervous, but I'll try my best! Also, I played the 5th trial again, just to be accurate.
CW: Themes of depression, bullet format, notice how op has no idea on how people confess to each other, kinda long and rushed at the end (I was motivaded and then got lazy srry).
Tumblr media
Your eyes opened slightly, only to be greeted by a terrible pain throughout your body, the fall was high and the only thing that cushioned it were the garbage bags.
As you got used to the pain, your mind went back to the events of a while ago, feeling your eyes well up with tears, but your expression didn't change. The pain in your body was replaced by overwhelming exhaustion, you looked at the high ceiling of the dump and sighed.
'Maybe this is where I really belong…' you thought, letting out a dry laugh.
And then you closed your eyes again, giving up to the exhaustion, knowing damn well that no matter how long you sleep, it'll still be there. You fell asleep, you slept until your dreams stopped tormenting you, you slept until your mind stopped tormenting you… You slept until something fell near you.
And then you woke up, you got up from your previous position, startled by the sudden noise. Just to see that recognizable silver hair. "Kyoko?" you say, your voice drier than it should be.
"You look… worse that I expected." Kyoko said, frowning and a can of instant noodles in her hair, she removed with a swift movement of her hand.
You stood up from your current position with a lot of effort and went to help her stand up. "What are you doing here?"
"Isn't it obvious? I'm here to help you." Kyoko said, like it was a fact. You felt your heart stop for a moment. You were flattered by that, but a part of your mind couldn't be grateful. A part of your mind felt worse than it already did.
A part of your mind felt like you were just bothering her. A part of your mind felt that you were not worth such an effort. A part of your mind wanted to beat you up for being so useless, so useless that you couldn't defend yourself in a trial, so useless that you almost got yourself killed.
Maybe Alter Ego should've let the hydraulic press kill you-
"Hey." Seeing your conflicted expression, Kyoko decided to get your attention. "Are you okay? You seem troubled."
You wanted to hit yourself internally for worrying her, but you just smile weakly. "Yes, I'm fine, just a... little bit tired, that's all."
Kyoko seemed unconvinced, but she didn't pursue the topic further, which you appreciated. "Well, I have something for you. Here and eat, we'll talk about this later." Kyoko handed you a piece of bread and a bottle of water, you looked at her surprised.
"Uh... Thanks, Kyoko." you smile nervously, and start to eat small pieces. Honestly, the thought of eating didn't cross your mind even once, no matter how empty your stomach felt. Kyoko was looking at you out of the corner of her eye, analyzing your behavior in silence. She had noticed that your attitude was a bit strange, your smile looked forced and your gaze wandered more often.
She wanted to ask you about it, but she didn't want to be too intrusive or too direct with the subject, Kyoko didn't want to scare you away or make you feel pressured. So she tried to be as gentle as possible. She wants you to feel the confidence to tell her whatever it is that is bothering you, even if it's not something physical.
"So, how have you been lately?" Kyoko asks, crossing her leg as she sits on one of the sofas.
You start slightly at her question, but you compose yourself and look at the floor, still eating the bread she gave you. "I've been fine."
Now, Kyoko is not an idiot, she noticed from the start how you avoid talking about your feelings and what really bothers you. So she looks at you, walks up to you, and takes one of your hands in a comforting way. "Hey..."
Kyoko looks at you, and you look at her too, feeling your eyelids a little bit heavy. "Hey..." you respond, trying to smile, but failing miserably.
She sighed, and I looked at you determined. "I know something is bothering you right now, I don't know if you want to tell me, because if you don't, that's fine. But I want you to know that you're important to me, you're important to everyone, and if you want to talk to someone, I'll be here, okay?" Kyoko shows you a slight smile, your gaze goes to your connected hands, and you feel how your eyes close and some tears come out.
"I'm... tired, Kyoko. Tired of everything." you let out a dry laugh, while more tears fall like a waterfall. "I don't want to see my friends die anymore… I don't want to stay locked in this academy anymore… I don't want to wake up just to repeat the same routine anymore…" now you were crying uncontrollably, while Kyoko looked at you without saying anything, letting you vent.
Kyoko put her other hand on your shoulder and pulled you closer to her, instinctively, you clung to her as you continued crying, letting go of whatever emotion you had withheld.
After a few minutes, you finally calmed down, you separated from Kyoko a little embarrassed, with their hands still intertwined. "S-Sorry about that, Kyoko..."
"Don't apologize for that, [Name], if you feel bad, you should express it. Holding it in will be bad for you, physically and emotionally." Kyoko strokes your hand with her thumb, giving you a soft smile. "I may not know exactly what you're going through, or what's going on inside your head, but what I know for sure is that you're not alone in this. What I am telling you may sound repetitive and empty, but really, whatever your head is telling you, it is not true, you are not useless because of what happened in the trial."
You sigh and put your head on Kyoko's shoulder. Getting all your emotions out was nice, but now you're tired again, wishing there was a bed.
Kyoko seemed to have noticed this, and looked at you. "Well, how about we get out of this dump?" Kyoko said, showing you a strange key, and you looked at her, confused.
"Wait- what is-" "I'll answer everything when we get out of here. come on, let's go." Kyoko took your hand and started walking towards the big door.
--- (Ok, this part is kind of rushed, and I apologize for that. But I'm tired rn srry)
After leaving the dump, you returned to your classmates, and explained the situation to them, only to be interrupted by Monokuma, who announced that the investigation about Mukuro's death was continuing.
You felt nervous, but gathering the courage that Kyoko gave you, you started to investigate together with her. While you were investigating with her, Kyoko stops you for a moment.
"Is something wrong, Kyoko?" you ask, curious. Kyoko looked conflicted about something.
"No, nothing's wrong, it's just... I have something to tell you. It's important." Kyoko said, with a serious look on her face.
You stayed quiet for a moment, feeling yourself getting nervous again.
"Well, tell me then." you looked at her impatiently, playing with the sleeves of your shirt.
"Well, I-" Kyoko sighed. "I like you."
"U-Uh?" you are surprised at her words, feeling your cheeks heat up. "Are you... serious?"
"Yes, I like you a lot... When you feel like the world is falling apart, I want to be there for you, either as a friend or as a partner, because I love you." Kyoko said, flicking a lock of her hair behind her ear, her cheeks rosy.
"I see..." you looked at the floor, not knowing if the world got brighter or if it's the lights. "Well, I like you too, Kyoko. Your mere presence soothes me and helps me in many ways." Kyoko smiled at your words.
You took her hand in yours, and together, continued investigating.
Tumblr media
Anyway, ignore the ending, it's rushed as hell xd

Overprotective
10ft Vash the Stampede
4'11 Meryl Stryfe
"Do we have to Mayfly?" Vash whined, "I know sandsteamers are the fastest way to November, but I have the worst luck with public transportation. Even now."
Meryl chuckled, leaning affectionately into her husband's side from her mount, a genetically specialized Tomas her brother-in-law made so she could relatively keep up with Vash at his much larger size named KoKo. "I know Angel, but we're already a week behind schedule because of the storm and you know how my boss can get when I'm late for my bi-annual visit to the office"
Vash sighed, wrapping his long arm around his wife's small shoulders as he looked up at the humpback class sandsteamer in front of them. "I guess. But what about KoKo here?" He asked, gleefully running his free hand through the Tomas' cyan mane when she pressed against his leg at her name, clearly asking for attention too. "I don't want to leave her here"
"Most humpback class sandsteamers have stables for Toma. It costs a little extra, but she'll be safe." Meryl said, patting her mount's neck, which earned a small trill of content.
"What about Stampede Suites?" Vash asked. "I don't want you to be cramped because of me."
Meryl smiled. Stampede Suites where specialized hotel rooms made specially for Vash to comfortably fit his much larger frame. He felt it was more than he deserved and would be perfectly happy on a small twin sized cot, but she knew he only paid for Stampede Suites for her comfort more than for his own.
"I highly doubt it. The S.S. Prosper is almost as old as the Flourish. New enough that the emergency brake issue has been fixed, but too old to have a Stampede Suite, even as an annexed room." Meryl explained. "But it'll be okay Vash. I'll be fine to share a king size mattress with you. It's just for the night." She assured him, giving his much larger hand a comforting squeeze.
Vash sighed again before picking Meryl up and taking KoKo's reigns as he started up the gangplank. "Alright, let's go."
Soon enough, KoKo was settled into a stable and Vash and Meryl where in a decently sized first class room. Or at least decently sized for a human. Despite the high ceiling, Vash was still hunch over quite a bit
"Mayfly are you sure this is the biggest room on the steamer?" He asked, his palm flat on the ceiling as if pressing up against it would give him more space to stand more comfortably.
Meryl smiled in amusement, getting up from the bed and reached up to take his free hand in her own. "I'm sure. C'mon, let's get some sleep." She said, tugging him closer to the bed.
Vash smiled down at her, letting his wife lead him to the bed, but couldn't help but grimace when the bed creaked under his weight when he sat down on it. "Geez they couldn't've at least reenforced it? I feel like it's going to collapse if I have another nightmare..." He said, quickly taking off his long red duster with practiced ease and unbuckling his boots before kicking them off.
"Not everyone is 10 feet tall and weighs more than a Tomas." Meryl replied, shedding her own cloak and boots before climbing onto the bed, standing on the mattress so she could plant a kiss on his jaw.
The smile returned to his face as he turned his head to face her, stealing a quick peck on the lips before scooping her into his arms and cradling her against his chest. "Yeah but it's all muscle" he playfully retorted
"And metal" she added, tapping his left pec where the metal grate was welded into. "If you had anymore metal I'd have to start calling you a robot"
Vash chuckled, kissing her forehead before pressing his own against where he just kissed. "I'm rubbing off on you Mayfly. But you have to work on your jokes. That was pretty terrible"
Meryl just rolled her eyes and patted his chest. "Anyway. Summon your wings. It's the 15th today" she instructed, trying to sit up in his arms.
"Aw do I have to? The room is so small." Vash whined, holding her tighter
Once a month, Meryl helped him preen his wings. Fixing crooked feathers and helping him get rid of old ones to make room for new, healthy feathers. Something that Knives very clearly instructed her she had to do, otherwise he could get sick like he did in LR Town after the Legato incident.
"Yes. You do. If Knives wrings me out because I'm not making sure you're taking care of yourself, I'm throwing you under the steamer with me"
Vash pouted at her for a moment before setting her on the bed, standing up as best he could and summoned his wings, casting the room in a soft turquoise and golden glow before sitting down on the floor in front of Meryl, letting her run her hands through his wings. As much as he complained about the preening, he did have to admit that feeling his wife's small hands run through his thick golden feathers was really nice...
After a while of Meryl preening his wings, Vash found himself dozing off when the sandsteamer gave an all too familiar lurch. He let out a very inhuman growl, much more inhuman than he meant.
Vash really had the worst luck with public transportation.
Meryl paused what she was doing when she heard him growl. Usually she loved it when he growled, especially in bed. But this wasn't a playful growl, it was a frustrated one.
"Vash? What's wrong?" She asked, smoothing out some feathers.
"BadLads" he answered simply
"Again? Let me grab my cloak" she said, starting to get up.
In an instant, Vash had turned around, catching her small wrists with one hand and her waist with the other. "No Meryl... It's too dangerous."
"What do you mean too dangerous?" Meryl whisper shouted, her brows furrowing as she freed a hand from her husband's loose grip to pull at his ear in irritation. "I've helped take BDN down before!"
Normally Vash would ham it up and act like Meryl tugging at his ear actually hurt, but now he was more worried about protecting her, and the people on the ship. "I know... It's just that... Last time I dealt with Neon he promised that he'll kill me"
"But he can't kill you. You're immortal"
"I know. But I don't want him to figure that out and then kidnap you to try to hurt me." He told her, cupping her cheek in his hand. Well, her head, as his palm was much bigger than it. "So please Meryl. Stay here and stay safe. For me." Vash asked, glowing eyes pleading.
Begrudgingly, Meryl nodded as she leaned into his hand. "Alright. I'll stay hidden" she said.
Vash smiled, gently tilting Meryl's chin upwards so he could press his lips against hers. "That's my Mayfly" he whispered softly, pressing his forehead against hers before standing again, rolling his neck and shoulders, letting his markings and wings disappear into his skin, allowing the room to fall into darkness, save for his eyes. Grabbing the scarlet coat, Vash quickly put it on and headed out into the hallway. "I'll be back soon"
Meryl sighed as the door shut behind him and she heard his heavy boots disappear down the hall. She knew Vash would be fine. He was immortal after all. Yes he could be hurt, and the scars and metal that littered his skin was proof of that, but he couldn't be killed. Still, she felt useless sitting here in the dark.
Minutes turned into hours and Meryl was getting antsy. She promised Vash that she would stay here and stay hidden. But it would only be a matter of time before the gang would find her in the room.
With a decisive huff, Meryl grabbed her cloak and put it on before sneaking out of the room as quietly as she could. She knew Vash wouldn't be happy with her for throwing herself into danger like this, but it was still technically her job to make sure he didn't cause too much damage. Besides, she could handle him getting upset with her, and he was never upset with her for long. He knew that if she made up her mind about something, there was no changing it. That was something they had in common.
Only he was an unstoppable force of nature. Meryl thought to herself. Something about Plants self actualizing their names or something? She wasn't sure.
Being careful not to make any noise, Meryl snuck down the hall. Towards where, she wasn't sure. She knew she had to find Vash. It wasn't like her to not have a plan, but her worry for her husband was eating her up inside.
"You! Stop there!"
Meryl froze. Shit...
She had only three options right now, and none of them were good. Draw her weapons and fight, surrender, or run. If she fought, their numbers would quickly overpower her, and if she ran, she'd be surrounded. Either way, she would most likely be brought before Brilliant Dynamite Neon.
Why didn't she just listen to Vash? She asked herself, mentally kicking herself as one of Neon's men took her by the arms and forced her forward. "I'm going, I'm going! Ease up asshole!" She growled at the man
To her surprise, his grip turned gentle. "Right. I'm sorry ma'am. Mr Neon specifically asked for you. I'm sorry for this... I really am" he said softly.
This surprised Meryl, and confused her greatly. "Why are you being so nice about this?"
The man sighed under the mask as he lead her down the hall. "Money's tight, okay? And Mr Neon pays pretty fairly. I was desperate for a job and there was an opening." He explained. "But he caught word that the Humanoid Typhoon was onboard the steamer and decided to make due on a promise he made like, 20 years ago. Which is dumb if you ask me. But when he caught up to the guy he saw what he turned into and ordered us to find you."
"The hell does he want from me?" Meryl demanded as they stopped in front of a set of doors.
"He didn't say... But whatever happens, I'm sorry" The man told her, sounding honest as he pushed her through.
She stumbled through the doors and large hand steadied her. Looking up, she was hoping it was her husband, but she felt her heart sink with dread when she saw who it was.
"Well look who it is. Now this party can really get started."
Meryl tensed when the hand grabbed her by her collar and lifted her up to face Vash on the other side, who was seething in anger. She tried calling out to him, but couldn't get a sound out before she felt his gun press against her temple.
"Turns out, your beau is an immortal god and I can't make due on the promise I made to him." Neon sneered into her ear. "And I don't break my promises. Such a shame... I hate to waste a pretty face"
Meryl cringed as she heard the gun powered up, waiting for her brains to splatter on the deck below. But it never came. Instead, she heard only two words echo in her head, and she knew everyone else heard it as well.
DROP HER
The next few moments where a frenzy of chaos. All she could tell was that she fell to the metal floor and a heavy weight had settled over her. Blinking, Meryl looked up as much as she could. From her perspective, the leader of the BadLads was cowering in fear across the room and Vash had crouched over her in a protective, feral stance, his wings spread out and wide to make himself seem even bigger and more intimidating than before.
Meryl had to do something. She had to calm him down. When Vash got like this, he became a massive angelic like monster who had four arms (well, technically three, as one was amputated) and more wings and eyes then she could count. Yes for the most part he could control the transformation and kept his mind, but sometimes he couldn't and became feral. She really didn't need him to grow to the size of a steamer while they where still in it.
Reaching forward, she grabbed his natural arm, hugging it tight and tried her best to ignore the fast growing feathers that threatened to bury her. "Vash! Vash, I'm okay! Please... I'm okay. I'm safe"
The arm she was holding moved, scooping her into it as she laid her head in his hand. "Meryl?"
She smiled at him, reaching up to touch his face, being careful not to accidentally poke the extra eyes that appeared on his cheeks in his protective rage. "That's right Angel. It's me. I'm safe" Meryl assured him as he closed the extra eyes, making them disappear into his skin.
"Well then" BDN stated, his voice still shaking from fear despite clearly trying to put on a bravado facade for his men. "If you're done with your fancy show of power, me and my men will take our leave. This party ain't fun anymore"
Vash looked up at him, growling out what Meryl could only assume was a string of curses in his native tongue before standing to his full height and setting her down behind him.
"What? You wanna duel again? You have your woman and we didn't kill that many people." Neon challenged, standing to his own full height. It might've been impressive in the past compared to Vash, but now he just looked ridiculously small.
The red clad gunslinger didn't speak, and only bared his sharp teeth as he walked towards the gang leader, making it a point to force him to crane his neck to continue looking him in the eyes.
Neon's eyes widened as his voice faltered to silence. He definitely fucked up. And now he was staring into the eyes of the Humanoid Typhoon. Screw the Diablo, these where the eyes of an angry god.
"Look... I'm sorry. I gave you back your wo-"
He couldn't get the rest of his sentence out before a massive heavy boot landed on his chest, pushing him through the door behind him and sending him flying a few yarz.
Neon landed on his back, his head bouncing off the metal floor, causing his vision to go blurry. All he could see when he looked up was two glowing orbs high above him
"You steal from innocent people. You kill with no remorse and you steal what's mine" Vash growled, towering above the man as he lifted his boot and brought it down hard on his arm, earning a loud crack and a scream in pain.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Please! Please don't kill me!" Neon pleaded, writhing in pain from his broken arm.
Vash snarled, moving his foot to his chest and put his weight down on the man as he leaned down to get in his face. "That woman is mine. These people are mine. If you hurt anyone else, I will hunt you down. Understand?"
"Cr-crystal"
Vash scoffed, but removed his foot, reaching into his jacket pocket to toss Beramy a roll of bandages and gauze to take care of his boss's broken arm before going back to where Meryl was.
"How bad is the damages?" She asked
Vash gave her a lopsided grin. "I didn't break any of the steamer if that's what you meant. So it should be a fairly easy report" he assured her, ruffling her hair.
"What did you do to him? I heard screaming" Meryl asked, swatting his hand away
"Nothing to bad. I just convinced him not to steal anymore"
Meryl gave him a look of disbelief, but decided to drop it. She knew what he was capable of, and she also knew that when he injured someone out of anger, he didn't like too talk about.
"Anyway!" Vash suddenly blurted out, spurring Meryl out of her thoughts. "It's late. And you have to go straight from the station to the office when we get to November in the morning" He stated, kneeling down in front of her and offering his arms to her.
Meryl smiled at him and took his offer, letting him pick her up and set her on his hip as he walked back to their room.
She hummed softly as he wrapped his other arm around her, pressing her small frame closer to himself.
Vash really was overprotective of her. But she wouldn't trade it for the world.

Carrier Chaos [Bucky Barnes x Reader]
Tumblr media
I was losing my mind, I couldn't cope with the loud noises of the crew drill outside and around the ship going on.
I was on a carrier ship and it made me feel anxious, I thought I started hearing the voices of everyone in my past who had kept me control under HYDRA.
The avengers carrier was what I was on and it was in the ocean, I was with Bucky on the Ship and I needed to find him before I had a panic attack.
Sweat beaded my forehead as it intensified, he was on the same floor as me, I just had to make it down to his room.
Finally I made it down the ship to his room, but he hadn't answered, dang it, he would've been in the training room, working on his form for fighting, the drill was probably getting to him too.
I walked to the lift and took it up two floors, with the sirens still blaring so I felt woozy, I took a minute, before I got off the lift, but by that time it started to head up to the cafeteria.
Lucky it did because Bucky walked in and saw me "hey y/n what are you- oh shit doll you aren't doing too well and look like you're struggling with the drill" he said with a concerned tone.
"Hey, look at me, you're doing fine, you just need to look at me and breathe" he said softly, pulling me into a hug.
"I- i- Bucky, I'm having a panic attack" I breathed rapidly, feeling the panic take over.
I blanked out.
--
"It's gonna be okay, it usually happens to me but I've learnt to get used to it. I know what you're going through Doll, just trust me and try to breathe. In... And out... See like this" he explained, motioning to his chest when he was breathing.
I tried breathing in and out but the panic was still overtaking me, my eyes filled with tears and I hugged him but pulled back "I'm sorry Buck" I cried.
"Hey, calm down... I know it's hard but you can do this. If I can, you can. I promise. Cross my fingers and pinky swear" he smiled softly.
My breath hitched in my throat, the alarm subsided and I felt like I could calm down, it had me exhausted as I used up so much energy having the panic attack, Bucky knew how to help me.
"Let's go to your room, how are you feeling?" He ushered before taking me to my room.
"Don't worry, we'll be docking soon and we can get off for some quiet time, before they send us on our upcoming mission. I think you should take it easy for the next day, keep a low profile" he smiled, patting me on the back.
I planted a kiss on his cheek, he looked a bit shocked but overall grateful "thanks Bucky, I really appreciate your help. You know how hard it's been lately... I've been struggling to sleep, been hearing voices, having flashbacks. It's been awful. But you've been helping me through" I smiled.
"Hey it's gonna be okay, I'm going through the same stuff, I can barely get through a night without having a night terror, I wake up sweating and struggle. You've seen me up at ridiculous hours of the night, I can't stop shaking." He gulped, looking at the group and shaking his head solemnly.
"Hey Bucky, stop being so hard on yourself" I reassured, I cupped his chin with my hands, before slowly and deeply kissing him, trying to make him feel better like he made me feel.
"I didn't know that's what you were going to do, please do it again. I love the feeling of your lips on mine y/n" he smiled, I hadn't seen him smile like that before.
"Wow, I didn't actually think you liked me back like that" I said, unknowingly.
"You bet I do, I have for a while y/n, I just didn't expect you to feel the same about an old guy like me" he said in a more serious tone.
"Old guy, please Bucky- I like you for you" I quipped back.
He cocked his eyebrow up, as if to say he didn't believe me "do I have to prove it to you super soldier?" I laughed, reminiscing about old times.
"Hmm I'll get back to you on that one" he laughed, pulling me into another hug and returning a kiss on the cheek.

Sleepy prompts: Darklina + 40
“I’m gonna carry you to bed if you keep arguing with me about not needing sleep.”
A/N: Thank you so much for the prompt! Here's a bit of a Modern Business AU. I hope you enjoy! [ao3]
INVOLUNTARY
Alina hadn't meant to fall asleep. No, actually she did. She hadn't meant to sleep through the alarm she set on her phone. Lately there weren't enough hours in the day between doing her job and helping Mal do his.
"This presentation could lead to a big promotion, Alina. That'll change everything for us."
Us. She should be glad that he's finally talking about their future, and she was. They'd been stuck in a holding pattern for years, the corporate climb always taking precedence. Right now, though, she'd be grateful to catch more than an hour or two of sleep at night. In few days, they'd be in the same timezone again—the six hour difference was not helping.
Until then, she'd just have to catch a power nap when she could.
"Miss Starkova."
That familiar baritone pulled her out of a dream where she was lounging on a white sand beach, and she wanted to groan. A furious blush followed in the next second when she remembered where she was: the small study in her boss's hotel suite.
"Mr. Morozov!" she exclaimed as she sat bolt upright. "I'm sorry. I was just—" She shuffled through the papers on the desk, cheeks burning brighter at the bit of drool on the quarterly financial report. Great.
Aleksander Morozov, CEO and president of Ravka Enterprises, leaned against the door jamb, arms crossed. She'd seen him out of his usual three-piece suits before, but somehow the dark grey slacks and black button-down, collar undone, sleeves rolled to his elbows, seemed more intimate. A sight reserved for a date rather than his harried assistant.
His expression was unreadable as he cocked his head. "You were just...what?"
Alina bit back a frustrated sigh. If she'd woken with the alarm, he wouldn't have caught her literally snoozing on the job. She would have been done with the reports, caught up on emails, and updated his schedule before he returned from drinks with—who was it, again? She ran a hand over her face.
She had at least another hour of work ahead of her, two more like, and Mal would be calling any minute. She could laugh, but she'd probably cry instead.
"I can take this to my room." She stood, gathering the files and printouts. "I'll have tomorrow's schedule in your inbox before you wake up, and—" She cut off at the soft press of his hand over hers.
He was behind her, so near she could feel the heat radiating from him. She resisted the urge to inhale the subtle mix of cologne and bourbon. God, she needed sleep.
"What's wrong?" He moved his hand to her shoulder, encouraged her to turn toward him.
She shook her head and tried to smile up at him. "I'm fine. Just tired is all."
He frowned, searching her face with those dark, lancing eyes. "Yes," he said. "I've noticed. You've been tired this entire trip. Why?"
Alina grimaced. Apparently she hadn't been keeping up appearances as well as she thought. "It's nothing." At his flat look, she admitted, "Mal has an important presentation coming up, and I've been helping him at night. It won't happen again." Sleeping at work, she meant. Of course she'd help Mal.
A good girlfriend was available whenever she was needed. A good girlfriend wasn't resentful. And a good girlfriend's stomach didn't flutter when her older, unfairly handsome employer stood close enough that she had to crane her neck to keep her gaze on his.
"Ah, Malyen." Aleksander said his name with what almost sounded like a note of derision. "And he can't manage this presentation without you?"
The question sent a spike of indignation through her. Worse, though, it pricked too close to her own three a.m. thoughts. "Of course he can."
"Good." The corner of Aleksander's mouth curved up a hair. "Then you can get some rest." He nodded toward the paperwork and laptop. "That can wait."
"Really, I'm fine." Her body betrayed her in that moment by yawning.
He raised his brow as if daring her to keep arguing.
She was pretty sure her cheeks were permanently red now. "Right." Her hand unconsciously reached for the pile of work, and she stopped herself. It felt strange leaving all of that undone. "I'll just head downstairs."
Her phone buzzed as she picked it up from the desk, and he plucked it out of her hands with a stern look. His expression soured further when he looked at the screen. She squeaked out an objection when he accepted the call, bringing the phone to his ear.
"Mr. Oretsev." He held up a finger as Alina opened her mouth again. "I'm afraid Miss Starkova is unavailable for the rest of the night. I need her to be at her best for tomorrow's meetings, and that means several hours of uninterrupted sleep."
Alina glared at him as he listened to Mal's reply. She set her jaw against another yawn, determined not to prove Aleksander right.
"Yes, I'm aware," he said coolly. "However, since I am the one paying her salary, I must insist that she is well rested and sharp when she is on the clock."
Mal's voice grew louder on the other end of the line, and though she couldn't make out the words, Alina could guess what was being said. Mal didn't like her boss, thought the man was too arrogant, too entitled—particularly of Alina's time. In her less charitable moments, she felt it was rather like the pot calling the kettle black.
Aleksander seemed unfazed by the tirade he was receiving, only hummed as if in agreement. "Then as her boyfriend, I assume you are even more invested in her well-being than her employer."
Alina rolled her eyes. She was going to get an earful from Mal about this later.
"Oh, and Mr. Oretsev," Aleksander said, " a word of caution. You may not work for me, but you'd do well to remember that Keramzin Capital is one of my subsidiaries." He ended the call without waiting for a response.
And now there was yet another fire for Alina to put out before she could catch any shut-eye. "Thanks for that." She glowered at him, holding out her hand expectantly.
He kept his eyes on hers as he slipped her phone into his pocket.
"You can't just take my phone!"
"Someone has to take care of you," he said. "Since neither you nor your boyfriend"—there was no mistaking the derision in his tone this time—"appear to be willing, the job falls to me."
She opened her mouth to balk, but it turned into another jaw-cracking yawn. She hated the vindication that flashed across his features. "Fine. I'm going." She tried to inch around him, but he wouldn't budge.
He held her gaze for a beat, and her exasperation gave way to a different kind of warmth. Embarrassingly, she swayed on her feet, the combination of acute exhaustion, whatever this odd moment was, and the impending drama with Mal entirely too much.
Aleksander grabbed her wrist and her heart leapt into her throat as he lifted her over his shoulder.
"What are you doing!?" she gasped.
"Putting you to bed."
She was mortified at the idea of being carried through the hotel corridors like a misbehaving child, but her breath caught when, a minute later, he dropped her onto a plush king-sized bed—his bed. She tried to sit up, but he pushed her gently back down into the pillows.
"This is where you belong," he said, and she was certain her fatigue-addled imagination was conjuring up an implication that wasn't there. "For the next eight hours, at least."
"But where will you sleep?" she asked around yet another yawn. The bed really was luxuriant. Her eyelids started drooping against her will.
He gave her one of his rare grins as he moved to the foot of the bed. "There's a sofa bed in the other room." He slipped off one of her shoes, then the other, fingers grazing across each ankle, sliding down each foot.
Or was that another figment of her crumbling consciousness?
He helped her get under the feather comforter, and she was glad that she'd chosen business casual as her attire today. Because there was no way she was getting up again.
"Rest as long as you need," he murmured with a tender expression that made her chest tight.
"But the meeting with—"
"I'm perfectly capable of handling things on my own," he said over her. She couldn't help but hear a throwback to his earlier disdainful question about Mal's capabilities. "Now, sleep. That's an order."
Her eyes were more than happy to obey even as she scoffed lightly. "Not on the clock anymore."
He breathed a quiet laugh. "And you won't be until I say so."
She heard him pad toward the doorway, and suddenly, she couldn't let him leave without recognizing his uncharacteristic kindness. "Thank you, Mr. Morozov." Because he was right; she desperately needed this.
He didn't respond, and she looked up, thinking he'd already left. He was still there, though, standing at the threshold, hand hovering over the light switch. He glanced back at her over his shoulder.
"Call me Sasha," he said, barely more than a whisper. He flicked off the light. "Goodnight, Alina."
Blessedly sleep overtook her before she could ruminate on his peculiar behavior.

Tsumugi: He looked like he really enjoyed it!
Because he was truly looking forward to today's location!
Iori: I don't mind that. But I’d be more grateful if he’s more composed.
Iori: Thanks to that, I was completely soaked.
Tsumugi: It’s the time where they went wild in the shower room! ><
Is your body chilly?
Iori: The water was warm so I’m fine. I can’t believe he turned the faucet on while the shower head was still in place.
Tsumugi: He must’ve been completely absorbed looking at those otters!
Tsumugi: Thanks to you, your suggestion that getting your clothes soaked was alright helped!
Iori: It's just because of my presumption that otters are very lively animals.
Iori: Well, I’m glad that Nanase-san wasn’t completely soaked.
Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Tsumugi: It was well-received by the staff as well!
Tsumugi: The producer praised both of you, saying that the way you looked after them feels like IDOLiSH7!
Iori: I'’m sure they captured that image.

Iori: They fell asleep while he's singing a lullaby.
The otters looking very comfortable as they sleep was really memorable.
2) Such as a photo of Iori-san giving otters food…
Iori: They were skillful eating with their little hands.
They finished eating in the blink of an eye, I wish I could see more of it.
3) Such as a photo of the two of you giving otters a bath…
Iori: Nanase-san looked happy and said, “They were cute playing with a duck toy.”
I was soothed by it as well.
Tsumugi: It was very cute!
They took a lot of photos of other things as well!
Iori: Can you send the photos to me? I want to give it a review before it gets released to the public.
Tsumugi: Sure!

I believe it's quicker, please do it tonight.
Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Tsumugi: I’ll send it after this conversation.
Tsumugi: I believe you’re on day-off tomorrow, so please take it slowly.
Iori: Leisure is a bit difficult, but I'll make sure I'll take a rest.
Tsumugi: Do you have any plans?
Iori: I'll have a group study with Yotsuba-san.
Tsumugi: A group study! That reminds me, Tamaki-san also mentioned it!
Tsumugi: If he gets a failing mark, he gets supplementary lessons that overlap with the Christmas Party, right?
Iori: Yes. Thanks to that, he’s more determined now.
Tsumugi: Thank you for doing your best in school, even though you're busy with work!
Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Iori: Studying won't be difficult.
Teaching Yotsuba-san will be a review for me as well, so it won't be a problem.
Iori: Also, I had him accompany me in dance practice between studies recently.
Tsumugi: That reminds me, the two of you practiced until late.
Iori: Yotsuba-san is better at dancing.
His instructions are somewhat easy to understand, and his advice is on point.
Iori: I wish he could use that to focus on studying as well.
Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Tsumugi: It’s give-and-take!
He has my support so that he doesn’t get failing marks!
Iori: He will study under me, so I will make sure he doesn’t get them.

Who: Lachlan & Paloma When: The 22nd December Where: Huntsville clinic
@uninfernodelamente
Christmas come early...
Lachlan had been so exhausted that night, he was nearly in a deep sleep when he felt Paloma waking him up, the sun was just about to come up and Sofie was staying at Vincent's overnight so they could have some alone time before the baby came. He rolled over and wrapped his arm around her, leaning his head against the bump, that was until he felt her shaking him harder this time and nearly missed what she was saying. "Huh, what?" Lachlan slowly sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eye, things coming into focus then he spotted the look of panic on her face. "Mi vida, what is it?"
Paloma had been having some braxton-hicks contractions lately. But she learnt to ignore some of them after the initial ones when she had made a bit of a scene at school, rushing to hospital straight from there just to realise it was a false alarm. No Paloma was wiser now and learnt to count the contractions. That's why when she initially jolted up from the sharp pain she didn't think much of it. But as minutes passed and it wasn't disappearing it dawned on Paloma that this could be it. She tried to wake Lachlan as fast as she could still trying to count the gaps between the contractions, but the pain proving too difficult for her to do it. Paloma was grabbing onto Lachlan so tight it was surprising she wasn't leaving any marks. As soo as Lachlan was awake she took a deep breath "I think we need to go" she all but whispered trying to sum up her rambles from before she woke him up.
It took him a second but once it sunk in, Lachlan made a scramble off his side of the bed and headed around to hers. "Are you sure? It was a false alarm last time." He did believe her, he just wanted her to be sure before they headed out to the clinic. He pulled on whatever clothes he could find for himself then her dressing gown and helped her into it. "Lean on me, I'll grab your bag and we'll head out." Lachlan could see that the sun was rising when he looked at one of the windows in the room. "It should be safe but I'll double check."
Paloma did wonder if they would be able to go outside. It felt dark in the apartment but it might be cause the curtains were drawn, she didn't have the time or the stamina to go up and check, grateful Lachlan did. She moved slowly, complete opposite to Lachlan's rushed response. Sucking in through her teeth to try and maintain the pain as she felt another contraction Paloma let him help her and leant to stand up, nodding vaguely when he confirmed they should be fine to go out. As the pain receded she stood up a bit firmer and breathed a sight of relief "I think it's the real thing, babe. But I don't know" Paloma smiled at Lachlan slightly confused. Now that the pain was gone she felt absolutely fine, did she just get blinded by the pain before? She shook her head reminding herself that she was counting the times between the contractions, it wasn't just one off. "We should go" she nodded.
Lachlan held onto her for a bit longer, when he was sure she was okay to stand on her own, he pulled on some shoes and grabbed the bag that had been packed for the clinic, it was mostly a change of clothes and some bits for the baby to bring her home in. "Let's go." He wrapped his arm back around her waist and started to help her out of the bedroom and apartment, until they came to the stairs to get down. Luckily, they were only on the first floor so he managed to help her down those, taking their time but before they could leave, Lachlan checked out of the window, seeing the ghosts heading back towards the woods and fade from existence. "Okay, here we go. It's light enough that they're gone."
Paloma grabbed him before they left through the door, grateful Lachlan had such a quick and calculated response to it all. "Wait," she said quickly taking the radio out of the hospital bag and radioing the clinic to confirm they're coming. Paloma only took a minute or so but she hoped the last of the monsters would be gone by the time she's done. "We're ready" Paloma nodded when she finished up, smiling softly at Lachlan, her statement coming off almost as a question.
He had forgotten about radioing so when she did it, he sighed a little and gave her a sheepish look. "Sorry, I should've done that first thing." Lachlan shook his head at himself. "We're ready." He smiled in return then finally headed out of the doors, helping her down the street towards the clinic, hoping they would make it in time before another contraction hit her. "How far apart are they?" He asked.
"I don't know, few minutes? I tried to count but should've realised it would be better to do on phone." Paloma noted. She put some speed into walking over to the clinic happy it's not too far a walk. Paloma was once again thankful for the running and yoga she'd done for as long as she did. After few minutes of walking, and with clinic far away in sight Paloma stopped in her tracks. Wincing she sat down on a nearby beach "Fuck that hurts," she hissed trying to level her breathing. She wanted to say they can carry on once this pass but was too concentrated on the task at hand to note this.
Lachlan walked with her until she needed to sit so he crotched down in front of her, putting his hands on her knees. "Deep breath, like this." He showed her what he remembered when Jessica was about to give birth to Sofie. "Take your time and breathe through it."
Paloma couldn't even think about the pain getting worse, she knew they wont have any epidural in the clinic but tried to push the thought away. After what felt like way too long she breathed a sight of relief and nodded to Lachlan, squeezing his hand lightly. "We're good" Paloma said standing back up. The rest of their journey felt slower, but that might have been because she was aware of another contraction coming up anytime soon. Once at the door they didn't have to say much to be pointed to the right direction and by the time she felt another contraction they were already situated in a waiting ward. The doctor running tests to see how far along she was. They were told Paloma wasn't there yet and they'll just have to wait things out so for the past few hours that's what they did. With Paloma feeling like she was being split over from time to time, "how is this not it?" She asked through gritted teeth.
"She's just not ready to come yet." Lachlan hadn't left her side besides getting them some snacks or water once in a while, he even had a doze on the seat next to the bed but most of the time, he had helped her hand to help her through the contractions. "This is your first time and it can be a while. it's just what happens." Lachlan kissed her hand gently.
Paloma smiled, looking at him softly. "Yeah is what it said in the books but fuck, Lach, how long exactly?" she said with a laugh. It took them almost half a day before the baby was finally ready. And in the end it felt like moments, painful, chaotic and long, but still gone in a flash. Paloma was happy to have Lachlan by her side, holding her hand and encouraging her. As exhausted and in pain Paloma was she felt such a shot of joy and love when Lachlan put the little, yelling Alma in her arms for the first time. "Bienvenida, mi vida", she murmured kissing her daughter's head softly then looked up and smiled at Lachlan.
"I hate it say it, but it could be a couple of days." He laughed a little. But luckily for them, it wasn't two days as the hours went on, she got closer and closer. Lachlan ended up sitting on the bed behind her to help her out, holding her close and kept up his words of encouragement to the very end. "Hi." Lachlan smiled down at their daughter then passed her to Paloma, stroking her hair back from her face with a big smile. "She's beautiful. You're beautiful." His heart swelled with love for the two of them. "Hey Miss Noisy." Lachlan tickled Alma under her chin. "At least she'll have no problem shouting at us."
"Yeah" Paloma let out a laugh through tear streaked face. The joy was quickly replaced by a shot of anxiety as the nurse too Alma away, noting that even though she seems fine and healthy her coming a bit early means they need to run extra tests. "I was hoping we can introduce her to Sofie straight away" Paloma sighed leaning back. She suddenly felt the exhaustion of the day taking over her.
Lachlan kissed the side of her head then held onto her hand when she was taken away, trying to reassure her that it was only for a little while. "We can, I'll radio Vincent to bring her here and he can meet his goddaughter at the same time too."
"I radioed while you were getting food, mi vida. " she smiled at Lachlan, the thought alone of them meeting Alma making her smile. "If we're lucky they'll be here already. But I'm not sure if they let us see Alma before it gets dark" she looked out frowning, trying not to think about there potentially being any complications with Alma being born early, she looked perfect to Paloma. "I'm sure they'll be able to see her soon enough" she said softly still looking into the sky as her eyelids were getting heavier.
"Oh, then they must already be here." Lachlan looked out towards the door then returned his attention back to Paloma. "You never know, they might bring her back to us with a bit of luck before night fall." He could see how tired she was so stroked his fingers through her hair. "Get some sleep, you're going to need it. I'll wake you when they bring her back."
"You’re probably right." Paloma nodded settling back into the pillow. "You go, see if they're there. I'll get some shut eye in the meantime. And if they let you see her, introduce her to her sister and godfather" she smiled kissing him softly before leaning back, suddenly feeling how achy her bones are, body relaxing into soft covers. She knew that even if she'll still be asleep Alma will be in good hands with her father and people that loved her.
"If you're sure." Lachlan kissed her back with a smile. "I love you, so much." He kissed her forehead a couple of times then stepped away, going to leave the room to find out what was happening with Alma.
