One of my favorite things about Pride and Prejudice is the Bennet family’s complete cluelessness about Darcy and Elizabeth. Like, if this were a tv show about the Bennets, Darcy and Elizabeth are like, the D storyline. The whole family is trying to get Jane and Bingley together, the regiment is stationed in Meryton, Mr. Collins is taking the house, Lydia and Wickham are obviously the climax, these people have a lot going on. And then, once the regiment has left and Jane and Lydia and Mr. Collins are married and everything seems resolved: plot twist! They’ve got random nobility at the door in the middle of the night telling the know-it-all sister who has been home on and off through the year not to marry the rando rich guy they all hate simply because they’re family and loyal to each other damnit and he called the know-it-all sister ugly once.
And then, of course, they all find out Lizzy and Darcy are actually very in love and literally all of the good things that have happened to them this year are a direct consequence of Darcy loving Lizzy lolol.

This is also how you do a gay metaphor:

@originalaccountname holy shit Fukuchi with Statler and Waldorf tagging along and making fun of him everywhere he goes (also I did base Fukuchi's appearance off of them XD)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Statler and Waldorf have the special ability Peanut Gallery which renders them fully immune to physical damage, rendering Fukuchi's frequent attempts to murder them completely ineffective!
Tumblr media
also THISSS oh my gosh ok I've been having thoughts—
So, you know the whole thing of people in bsd developing abilities based on trauma?
Same thing happens in this AU, but they also become muppets at the same time! So pretty much every muppet was once a human, unless they're like Adam or Elise or Demon Snow and are projections of a muppet ability user. (Adam is a robot muppet built by a muppet [dr. Wollstonecraft, very smol]. He is very comfortable with this.)
This means that Chuuya, who doesn't remember where he came from, is worried that he might be a fully artificial muppet who was never a human being to begin with. This isn't helped by the fact that he joins the Sheep, who are all humans, so for most of his teen years Chuuya has to feel weird about being the lone muppet in his group of peers. This changes a bit when he joins the mafia, because suddenly he's around a lot of fellow muppets (and Dazai, who can temporarily turn Chuuya human again, which Chuuya really hopes is proof that he was in fact human at some point)
And Verlaine IS a fully artificial muppet, created to house a singularity, and he has decided to make it everyone else's problem! He is a murder muppet, in fact. A murppet. (Also I have been cackling over "Chuuya's a real muppet you're just sad you miserable pile of felt" ever since I read it thank you so much Nawy, every time I reread it it sends me off again skfjksdfj)
...So in the end I guess I have given Chuuya the exact same crisis as in canon, just with an extra layer of existential muppet dread over the top of it all. Hmm.
And now, other comments on my previous post that I want to highlight because they have been filling me with such joy:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
^I feel like that last one works really well with what I've come up with for stormbringer, because the stitches/stain can be Chuuya's proof that he did in fact exist before the lab (Mori finds records of a muppet having to be patched up after a fight with a kid) and thus was not created in the lab (although he was already a muppet)

I was watching the scene where Wille points the gun at August and it's such a brilliant scene for many reasons but the one that hit me the most is that Simon got to see the degree to which Wille was affected by the video.
In the Music Room fight that went down between them in the last episode, Simon basically says that Wille had it easy in terms of facing the repercussions of the video as compared to Simon. And Wille is rightfully offended because Simon fails to understand that just because the manner in which they both suffered was different, it doesn't mean that the suffering itself was any less for Wilhelm.
Like, when Wilhelm points the gun at August, the anger that flashes on his face is not some sort of a "quarrel" between the Royals, it's Wilhelm's pain resurfacing in the form of sheer anger, all the sleepless nights and tears bubbling and making their way into his voice. It's so evident in that scene, how Wilhelm was deeply affected by everything that went down and now that Simon had a chance to bring some justice to both of them, August snooped in and took that chance away from them. Like, Simon must have finally understood that the game is not rigged just for him, but Wilhelm is as much of a victim as Simon is. That Wilhelm's hurt ran so deep that he was ready to blow off his own cousin's head. And it could be one of the realizations that helped Simon understand that it's not him vs Wille, they both were equally devastated by August's actions and even more so, Wille's loyalty will always lie with what's right, and with Simon.

listening to worlds beyond number is so fun because it goes from like studio ghibli levels of charm and beauty with ink demons and giant clam shells filled with seafood chowder and beautiful cottages to the absolutely GUT WRENCHING characters living in it. in a world where the starshine illuminates the night and a glass tower looms over a desert of white sand and great spirits live in the oceans and forests and foxes can speak and magic is real, people still make bad choices. people are still afraid. people are still hurt. people are still so wonderfully, amazingly, painfully human.

Remember when they stole a tank in Six of Crows?
I have not seen enough people talking about that one scene in Six of Crows where Inej, Jesper, and Wylan steal a tank. It is probably my favorite scene in the entire book and I am going to talk about it.
The chaos. The gremlin-ness of all of them. Jesper being so excited to drive the tank. Wylan and Inej manning the turret and laughing their asses off. The tank dragging a dirty, soot-stained banner that says “Fjerdan might” behind it. The poetic revelry and beauty that they all see in the complete and utter destruction they leave in their wake.
The way Nina, Matthias, and Kaz react when they see the tank. Nina starts shouting for joy. Matthias is in so much shock he just does not speak for a minute. Kaz is, and I quote, “grinning like an idiot,” which is one of the only times we see him really truly smile, and it’s an enormous, insane, excited grin. Kaz immediately denies being happy at all and keeps grinning at the tank.
Inej and Wylan popping out of the top and waving to them before blowing up the bridge.
Plus, this is one of the only times we see these characters laugh so much and be so overtly joyful. Wylan laughs so hard his stomach hurts. Kaz is grinning like a little kid. Inej has just bested her abuser and is riding the high of that and of firing a massive gun with Wylan.
And it gives us little snippets of dynamics that aren't focused on as much, like Kaz and Matthias or Inej and Wylan.
Truly one of the most chaotic, hilarious, and fun moments in the entire duology. It’s right up there with Kaz and Wylan crashing through Van Eck’s ceiling and onto a full dinner table to escape the guards, in my opinion.
Anyway I love this scene and we should talk about it more. 1000/10, will continue to re-read forever

Magical girl transformations are literally never not hype. I’m never sick of them, idk how many times I see them or how much episode time they take up or if they make any sense at all they are always awesome. I don’t even have to give a shit about the characters or the show I see a magical girl transformation and my brain just goes

The thing I think I love most about OFMD is that it's so earnestly well written. They could've easily made it just another irreverent comedy like What We Do In The Shadows. Given Taika's filmography as a producer, that's honestly what I was expecting, the same style of humor in different clothes. But it's not, obviously due in no small part to the writers and remainder of the showrunners (as I'm aware he didn't write it). The depth of the story is remarkable though, and I think Blackbeard's arc in particular is extremely impressive. His feelings, his heartache, the yearning and the desperation, it's all palpable. And you can tell that Taika put his all into the portrayal, it wasn't something that I think he really took lightly. I was introduced to this work first through Ragnarok (which I adore) and then WWDITS. It set a certain expectation of him as an actor as well as what he backs as a producer honestly, which was vastly exceeded for a production attached to his name. I expected to like this show but I didn't expect the wonderful heartache it would bring.

you know what I wanna ramble about the neutral run final boss in undertale yellow cus it's so fucking good
it feels like a natural progression to the original flowey fight, the first one was pure shock and chaos, but the yellow boss fight just goes straight for the horror vibes, the visuals are so off putting but I think that's why they work so well, what else would you expect from flowey
that's what's perfect about this fight actually, how much it fits flowey, he won't let you do most of the options in the battle menu, he makes you run from him, he makes you pick your poison in the second phase with the petal roulette like the sadistic little fuck he is, it all just SCREAMS flowey
in fact my one and only complaint for this fight is that it's so easily missed, original undertale forces you to do one neutral run before doing a pacifist run, undertale yellow doesn't have anything like that, and most people I've seen play it go right for a pacifist route not knowing the complete insanity they're missing out on
