Groovy, shagadelic, 1975 mid century modern time capsule in Fort Wayne, IN has been taken off the market, but the listing remains in case someone shows interest. 4bds, 3ba, 2,476 sq ft, $288,500. This one is different.
As is typical of some MCMs, they're not very sturdily built. This is actually the front entrance. Note the shapes of the windows.
Fancy carved front door. Notice the purple trim on the stairs- it's a preview of things to come.
The door opens to a linoleum floor, but you can see the purple shag rug ahead.
It looks as if the carpeting throughout the house was recently replaced b/c it's very clean. The fireplace is a great feature and the glass walls make it seem like you're outside.
Note that the wood pattern on the beams matches the front door. A complicated looking spiral staircase goes thru every floor of the home. There is a row of built-in benches along the wall with new orange velvet seats, plus a built-in sideboard in the corner.
The wall is also covered in purple carpet.
In the dining room/kitchen area there's a wall of windows and a built-in wall unit.
The kitchen is quite large, has original cabinets with textured laminate counters and bright blue carpet. The black appliances are new except for the original bronze tone stove that still remains.
The laundry room off the kitchen has a nice purple door.
The powder room has a big coral laminate vanity. I like the antique mirror.
The steps are all carpeted and so are the landings.
On the 2nd level there are sliders to a deck and this appears to be a family room area. The carpet looks red.
The large primary bedroom has flex arm retractable lamps above where the bed goes and it also has sliders to a deck.
There's a lot of storage in the ensuite. A double sink in laminate faux marble was a popular choice in the 70s.
It also has the favorite sunken tub of the era. It's a little weird how the carpeted floor is "sculpted" around it.
There's also a large walk-in closet.
Actually, this is a candidate for my "stairs that can kill you" posts.
Now, we're down in the basement and there's a huge rec room with some built-in sofas.
Notice the door pattern on the bases of the sofas. That wall looks like it's cork and is flaking. (Or maybe they had a cat- it would make a great scratching post.)
Kitchenette down here.
Bedroom with a built-in bed w/storage, just add a mattress. Plus there's a nice desk in the corner.
All 3 remaining bedrooms are down here. They all have desks and this one has a colorful carpet.
The 4th bedroom is the largest and has a bigger desk.
There are 2 baths down here. Nice mint green laminate and teal tile.
.66 acre lot.

Just Friends: Autumn Daze
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Character: Bucky Barnes
masterlist
Summary: you and Bucky go on a double date.
It’s giving
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging ❤️
After the trainwreck of your efforts, you’re deflated. You can say you’re disappointed that it didn’t work out, but more so, you’re just disappointed in Bucky. The more you think about his behaviour that night, the worse you feel.
And not just let down. You a bit miffed by it all. He even asked what was wrong after? All after he treated the whole thing like you were forcing him to go to the dentist. You didn’t bring Sam to upset him, you thought it would be good to show support for Bucky, to get him back out here.
Well, now you get it, he doesn’t want that. And that’s okay. But he could have said so earlier. He didn’t need to embarrass you.
Then your guilt overwhelms everything else. Maybe you just didn’t listen. Maybe you’re a bad friend. It’s all cloudy and confusing.
So, you let his messages go unread. You’re not ready to talk. You need to sort this all out. You need to sort yourself out. The nagging insecurity rears its hideous head; you don’t deserve a friend like Bucky.
He's too cool for you. You’re too lame. He can go out and do anything he wants. He saves the world for a living and you dress up like movie characters and serve meatloaf. How the heck did he even stick around this long?
That must be it. Bucky doesn’t trust your taste. Charlize might be charming and sleek, but if she’s your friend, she can’t be on his level.
No, no, no. You’re spiraling. Why? He didn’t say any of that. You’re making it up.
You shake off the doubt as best you can and finish swiffering the kitchen tile. It’s not much. About three feet of floorspace between the two parallel counters. The apartment is so small, it doesn’t take very long to do the floors, and yet, it’s always cluttered because it can’t fit all your stupid stuffies and collectibles.
Grow up. That’s what you should do.
The buzzer curtails another plummet into self-pity. You huff. If it’s that guy asking for whoever Gerald is again, you’re going to lost it. You tap the button.
“’Lo?” You grip the handle of the swiffer.
“Dreamy? Hey. You’re home,” Bucky’s grizzly timbre sounds crackly through the aged speaker. You let go of the button and sigh again. You press down.
“Hi, what’s going on?” You ask.
He snorts, “Dreamy? Nothing. Just... I wanted to ask you something. You haven’t been answering so I got worried.”
“Oh, right,” you utter dully. “I’ve been cleaning.”
“All week?” He challenges.
“Work,” you say flatly.
“Right, makes sense,” he says. “Well... can I come up? I got something real important to ask you.”
You hesitate. You’re not really in the mind or condition to receive him. You have a scarf over your hair and a loose Tazmanian Devil shirt hanging off of you, matched by a pair of leggings patterned with groovy flowers. You look like a thrift store sneezed.
“Okay.”
You push the other button to let him in. You know you should draw firmer lines but there’s no good reason to ghost him. You don’t really want to lose him as a friend. It’s just you getting in your head.
You unlock the door and switch the swiffer for the broom. As you sweep up the dust, the door opens. You go to your phone and turn down the music playing on your small pink speaker. You glance over at Bucky as he stands on the mop and wears an amused expression.
“You look...”
“Don’t. I’m cleaning,” you pout. You tilt your head at the orange shape under his arm. And the rest of him.
Under his leather jacket, there’s a hint of orange and black. He’s wearing a very fuzzy looking sweater. That’s not really his style. On top of that, he has a coffee cup in hand. He hates those fancy shmancy places.
“So, I guess you weren’t just in the area,” you still the broom completely.
“Well, I thought you might be interested in a little road trip.” He frees the orange ball from under his arm and presents the stuffed pumpkin with the goofy smiley face and arms and legs. “There’s a pumpkin patch about an hour out.”
“A pumpkin patch?” Your lips slant.
“And I stayed on theme. Pumpkin vanilla latte,” he wiggles the cup slightly.
“You’re bribing me?”
“Is it a bribe when I know you want to go?” He jibes.
You look between the pumpkin and the cup. He’s really playing with you. Are you so weak?
“Alright, but I need to get changed,” you say. You lean the broom in the corner and cross to him. He holds out the stuffy. “I’m going to call him...” you hum and think, “Pumple Stilskin.”
“Oh god, you’re so weird,” he says.
“And yet here you are,” you stick your tongue out.
Your chest knots but you feel a bit better than before. It’s good. It’s not as bad as you think, yet you can’t be entirely excited. There’s something else. Something that isn’t just you.
“I’m going to go find him somewhere to live and oh! I have the perfect outfit for today!” You spin and rush away.
You disappear into the bedroom and place Pumple with Mewchanan. You turn and slide open your closet, the door rattling on the wheels. Hmmmmmm. Ah. Yes, you still have it.
You pick out the browny orange overall dress and the cute pumpkin blouse. You love it!
You scramble to get it all on then come out to wrestle with your face and hair. Oof, you are a mess but you have the cutest beret you can hide under. Content, you come out to find Bucky staring at the little collection of rubber ducks painted to look like a black cat, a witch and a skeleton.
“Pumpkin vanilla?” You near him. He steps back and offers the cup, “thanks,” you say as you take it. You taste it as you feel him watching you. You flick your eyes up and shrug, “what?”
“Nothing. Ready to go?” He asks.
“Just need my boots and coat,” you grin. “How’d you even think this up?”
“I love autumn,” he says.
“Sure,” you roll your eyes.
“I’m serious. It reminds me of when I was a kid... as long ago as that was. Thanks, you don’t need to mention,” he adds.
You chuckle and grab your boots, “wasn’t gonna,” you chirp back.
It’s weird, thing seem normal but that tension is like a shadow over you. You let it fade to the edges. You don’t want to ruin the day. He did all this and you just want to enjoy it. Everything else can wait.

Bound: In My Room by wolfpants

Final installment in my mini-series of “fic I bound and sent to wolf”: In My Room by @wolfpants
I never really gave much thought to the idea of Dron as a pairing, but then wolf went and dropped a little WIP snippet of this on their Tumblr and I was like hoshit this has awakened something in me. And when the full fic was posted, I was completely sold.
Wolf's Ron is so wonderfully flawed and charming and everything we understand canon!Ron (book canon, anyway) to be. He's both insecure and cocky, awkward and appealing, judgemental and fair-minded. Ron in this fic is also 100% an Eighteen Year Old Human, i.e. very sure that he is making Good Choices while he is actually mostly making a series of Bad Choices.
And Draco is such a perfect foil to all of this: postwar Draco, who is a mess of self-doubt and old bigoted reflexes and fragile newborn-wobbly attempts to change, to be better.
(And I won't get into the background Drarry energy, but good god. Harry just fucking HOVERS in this fic. He's still SOMETHING to Draco, and A WHOLE LOT to Ron, even as both of them are doing something that decidedly breaks with both those historical relationships.)
Anyway, wolf's soundtrack to this fic is all 70s, and I have a warm fuzzy feeling for a Ron who's rooted in his parental nostalgia, who grew up with hand-me-down music tastes and groovy avocado blankets and plastic Muggle artefacts. When I spotted the paper that became this book's endpapers, everything came into focus for this bind.
More below the cut.
Materials: This is a quarto letter bind on cream 24 lb paper, using a fucking delightful shade of green wooqu bookcloth. But the real star is the endpaper choice, which I picked up at a Paper Source in DC in August. (We don't have this in Canada, I was very very happy.) It's got some subtle gold foiling on it, but the pattern and palette is so very 70s. (I'm a Xennial myself, so this print feels like everything that was just a shade out of fashion when I was a small Plor.)
Endbands are machine made.
The cover art is HTV and it went on fairly well? Ish?
Process: The typeset was quick for this short fic, which is a single chapter. I backfilled the final half-empty signature with the lyrics from wolf's playlist for the fic. (This is probably borderline in terms of transformative works and copyright but uhhhh too late.)
The book was a fairly straightforward case bind. I've been using the Bradel-style case construction for most of my case binds, where you use a strip of cardstock to build the spine/hinges on, and then trim the fore edges down on the boards. This can sometimes show up as slightly creased grooves in the hinges if you're not super careful with the bone folder, but I still prefer it to the guesswork of measuring and then building a whole case, covering it, and realizing it's the wrong size.
When I bound my own copy of this fic (after the copy for wolf! which is not how I usually roll, but the first copy was good???) I did take the plunge and build the case in this more traditional way, and it went perfectly. I'm still scared to try it again. Book board is expensive?
The HTV is the most layered I've ever done, and it was SO FUN to build the tiny record player out of layers of vinyl. When I did a test cut of the art, I was filled with the glee of Tiny Dollhouse Feelings. The chess board on the back with its various symbology was just fun. And the spine features an extremely unsubtle nod to the pairing and dynamic with the yellow/blond chess pawn and the orange/ginger knight.
And this concludes my tour of the works I bound for wolf! I'm now nearly finished another little gift parcel for another amazing author, sooo in 2-3 months' time, I should have another round of gift binds to share. (Most of that is shipping time because oceans.) Stay tuned!

Festival Nails: Best Ideas for Music Weekends
Music festivals are a celebration of vibrant style, self-expression, and fun, and your nails should be no exception!
Whether you're rocking out to your favorite band or enjoying the festival atmosphere, having festival-ready nails adds an extra touch of creativity to your look. Here are some of the best nail ideas to make sure your nails shine just as brightly as the music and the crowd.

1. Bold Neon Designs
Neon colors are synonymous with the energy and excitement of music festivals. Bright pinks, greens, yellows, and oranges pop under the sun and glow under UV lights when you're dancing the night away. Consider using neon polish for a full set or create bold accent nails with geometric shapes, stripes, or abstract patterns. Add a touch of glitter or rhinestones to elevate the look.
Tip: Use a UV or black light topcoat to make your neon nails stand out even more in the dark.
2. Floral and Bohemian Patterns
For a more laid-back vibe that still screams festival chic, floral and bohemian nail designs are a perfect fit. Think intricate flowers, paisley patterns, or mandala-inspired art. You can combine earthy tones with pops of color, like deep reds, oranges, and yellows, to reflect a free-spirited, nature-loving style. A matte finish can make these designs even more subtle yet sophisticated.
Tip: You can create these looks using nail decals or hand-painted designs, depending on how intricate you want them to be.
3. Tie-Dye Nails
Tie-dye is a quintessential festival style, and it works just as well for nails! This playful and colorful design can be created with a mix of bright, complementary colors to give a psychedelic, rainbow effect. Use a sponge or nail art brushes to blend the colors together for a smooth yet groovy tie-dye look.
Tip: To keep your tie-dye nails intact throughout the festival, use a long-lasting topcoat to prevent chipping.
4. Metallic and Chrome Finishes
If you're into futuristic vibes, metallic and chrome nails are the way to go. Think reflective silvers, bold golds, or iridescent blues and purples. These bold finishes will make sure your nails stand out, even in the crowd. To make it even more edgy, combine metallic nails with intricate designs like stars, lightning bolts, or holographic glitter.
Tip: Metallic nail powders can create a mirror-like finish, perfect for evening festival events under the lights.
5. Pastel Skies and Sunset Nails
Capture the beauty of festival sunsets with gradient nails that resemble a pastel sky. Soft pinks, purples, peaches, and blues transition smoothly from one to the next, creating a dreamy sunset effect. You can even add little accents like clouds, stars, or tiny sunbursts for extra creativity.
Tip: Use a sponge to apply the gradient colors for a smooth transition.
6. Funky French Tips
Give the classic French manicure a fun and modern twist by using bold and unexpected colors for the tips. Instead of white, try using neon shades, metallics, or pastel tones. For a more artistic approach, use patterns like chevrons, stripes, or zigzags for the tips, adding extra flair to a traditional design.
Tip: Mix and match colors for a fun, mismatched French tip look.
7. Glittery and Sparkly Nails
If there's one thing festivals are all about, it’s sparkle! Glitter nails are always a fan favorite, and they’re perfect for music weekends. Whether you go for a full-on glitter bomb or just a subtle accent nail, glitter is sure to make your nails shine bright in the festival lights. Try using holographic glitter, chunky glitter, or even textured glitter for added dimension.
Tip: Layer glitter polish over a contrasting base color for a multi-dimensional effect.
8. Artistic Minimalism
Not everyone wants their nails to scream bold patterns, and that's okay! For a more minimalist approach, you can go for subtle designs like tiny dots, fine lines, or simple geometric shapes. This style is perfect if you want something more understated, yet still festival-appropriate. Neutral base colors like white, beige, or clear work well with minimalist nail art.
Tip: Use nail tape or dotting tools to create clean, crisp lines and shapes.
9. Funky Accent Nails
If you're not ready to commit to a full set of designs, try accent nails for a pop of personality. Choose one or two nails to highlight with fun designs like crystals, rhinestones, or even small graphic prints (think music notes, hearts, or smiley faces). This allows you to have fun without overwhelming the entire look.
Tip: Opt for 3D nail art, such as small rhinestones or studs, for an extra glamorous touch.
10. UV/Blacklight Reactive Nails
For ultimate festival fun, try UV-reactive nail polish that glows in blacklight. These polishes come in a variety of colors and give off a mesmerizing glow, perfect for evening performances or raves. You can combine these polishes with other designs, like stars or geometric patterns, for a truly unique and glowing look.
Tip: Make sure to use a UV topcoat for maximum glow intensity.
Final Thoughts
Music weekends are all about expressing your individuality and having fun with your style, and your nails should reflect that spirit! From bold neons to soft gradients and sparkling glitter, there are endless ways to make your nails festival-ready. Experiment with different designs, colors, and textures to find the perfect nail look that matches your festival vibe.
Don’t forget to protect your nails from the elements—whether it’s the sun, dirt, or rain—by applying a long-lasting topcoat for a flawless finish throughout your festival experience. With the right nails, you’ll not only be rocking the music scene but also setting the trend for festival fashion!

I love this groovy 1962 mid century modern in Palm Springs, CA. 3bds, 4ba, 1,533sqft, it embodies everything the original funky psychedelic style had- especially the patterns and typical colors of orange, gold, green, and brown. Recently reduced $101k to $999k.
It was professionally restored by a designer, but it doesn't say anything about the furnishings coming with it- it wouldn't be anything w/o the period furniture and accessories.
The cabinetry with the orange accent is so typical of this style.
The orange and green laminates are classic.
Doors to the patio and a large primary bedroom. You don't normally see this in most standard MCM bedrooms.
It is very rare to find an MCM that has ensuites for each bedroom. They have all been updated, too.
Smaller, cozier secondary room also has doors to the patio.
It appears that all the bedrooms have access to the patio.
Roomy bath.
The designer turned the garage into a casita/guest house.
Very nice.
Off the courtyard they have a pool and hot tub.

Alright, buckle up. Picture a dude with a beard so legendary it could probably tell you stories around a campfire. Now, this ain’t your everyday forest dweller; he’s got some serious flair going. Imagine intricate, colorful patterns in shades of purple, blue, red, and orange dancing on his skin like they’re at…

Wedding Haldi Theme Decoration: What’s Hot in 2024?
The Haldi ceremony, a vibrant pre-wedding ritual, is an essential part of Indian weddings. It symbolises the beginning of a new chapter and is filled with joy, laughter, and blessings. In recent years, couples have been increasingly focusing on creating unique and personalised experiences for their guests, and the Haldi ceremony is no exception.
At Ranka Tent Suppliers, we’ve been at the forefront of wedding trends, helping couples transform their dream celebrations into reality. With a deep understanding of the evolving preferences, we've curated a list of the hottest Haldi theme trends that are making waves in 2024.
Embracing Nature: The Eco-Friendly Haldi
There's a growing consciousness towards sustainability, and weddings are no exception. Couples are opting for eco-friendly celebrations, and the Haldi ceremony is a perfect canvas for this trend. Imagine a Haldi adorned with lush greenery, floral arrangements made from locally sourced flowers, and decor elements crafted from recycled materials. The colour palette can be a mix of earthy tones like olive green, brown, and beige, complemented by pops of yellow for the traditional touch.
Boho Bliss: A Free-Spirited Affair
The bohemian aesthetic, characterised by its laid-back charm and eclectic mix of elements, has captured the hearts of many. A boho-themed Haldi is a perfect blend of romance and rustic vibes. Think of dreamy floral installations, macrame accents, and plenty of natural light. Incorporate earthy tones like terracotta, mustard yellow, and deep orange for a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Tropical Paradise: A Sun-Kissed Celebration
For couples seeking a destination wedding or simply a tropical escape, a Haldi with a tropical theme is a delightful choice. Imagine a vibrant colour palette of turquoise, coral, and yellow, complemented by lush greenery and exotic floral arrangements. Transform your venue into a tropical oasis with palm trees, hanging lanterns, and colourful cushions.
Minimalist Chic: Less is More
In an era of maximalism, minimalism is making a strong comeback. A minimalist Haldi focuses on clean lines, simple decor, and a muted colour palette. White, beige, and grey can be the base colours, with pops of yellow and green for the Haldi essence. Incorporate geometric patterns, modern lighting, and sleek furniture to create a sophisticated and elegant ambiance.
Retro Revival: A Blast from the Past
If you're a fan of vintage aesthetics, a retro-themed Haldi is a fun and nostalgic choice. Think bold patterns, vibrant colours, and groovy music. Incorporate elements like chequered floors, neon signs, and disco balls to create a retro-inspired atmosphere. For a playful touch, encourage guests to dress in retro attire.

Hydrate: Drink plenty of water and use a good hand cream to keep your nails and cuticles moisturized.
Trim and shape: Keep your nails at a length that's practical for your lifestyle.
Buff: Gently buff the surface of your nails to create a smooth canvas for polish.
Cuticle care: Push back your cuticles gently and apply cuticle oil regularly.

Tips for Long-Lasting Summer Nails:
Now that you've chosen your perfect summer nail design, you'll want to make sure it lasts through all your summer adventures. Here are some tips to extend the life of your manicure:
Use a high-quality top coat and reapply every few days.
Wear gloves when doing dishes or cleaning to protect your nails.
Apply cuticle oil daily to keep your nails and surrounding skin hydrated.
Avoid prolonged exposure to chlorine or saltwater, which can damage your polish.
Touch up any chips immediately to prevent further peeling.
DIY vs. Professional Summer Nails:
While many of these trendy summer nail designs can be achieved at home with some practice and the right tools, others might require the skilled hand of a professional nail technician. Don't be afraid to try simpler designs yourself, but for intricate patterns or techniques you're not comfortable with, it's worth visiting a salon.
Remember, nail art is all about having fun and expressing yourself. Whether you opt for a DIY approach or professional service, the most important thing is that you love your summer nails!
Matching Your Nails to Your Summer Wardrobe:

Office Chic: Choose subtle pastel ombré nails to add a touch of summer to your work attire.
Night Out: Let your holographic or glow-in-the-dark nails shine alongside a little black dress.
Remember, these are just suggestions. The beauty of nail art is that it allows you to express your unique style, so don't be afraid to mix and match as you see fit!
Nail Care for Summer:
While focusing on trendy designs is fun, it's crucial not to neglect the health of your nails, especially during the summer months. Here are some additional tips for keeping your nails in top condition:
Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water benefits not just your body, but your nails too.
Protect from sun damage: Use a hand cream with SPF to prevent UV damage to your skin and nails.
Take breaks from polish: Give your nails time to breathe between manicures.
Eat a balanced diet: Nutrients like biotin, vitamin E, and protein contribute to nail health.
Be gentle: Avoid using your nails as tools to prevent breakage and splitting.
