pssssst..... if you're wondering where I've been for the last month...... you should all read Wolfsong by TJ Klune.
It's gorgeous. It's heart-wrenching. It's a coming of age LGBTQA+ story with werewolves. The series has Ace rep, which you never get. You need to read it.

listening to the new if books could kill is really weird as someone who was indeed a teen/tween in the Emergence of Social Media Era, in that like. actually me and my 50 pseudonymous close friends of a decade are doing quite well thank you. im glad you interviewed some teenagers to learn that they use online socializing tools for social interaction, which accordingly has the features of social interaction, but this is a fucking bizarre thing to listen to people explain to each other

Either I get bored first reading these 8 books of a 15 books series or I get really impatient for the next installment that isn't out yet.

finished my reread of project hail mary! wanted to finish it before i got on my train but that didn't happen, so now i have a near 500 page book in my house and nowhere to put it lol. just as good as i remembered it being, whatever it is that andy weir does with his writing absolutely clicks for me because i tore through that thing in about a day's time (a little more than, and slightly slower than i read it the first time lol, but i had things to do when i got back to town today!). it feels so great to read a book again that's so good i can absolutely eat through it

A Lil AEG Ramble
So I started watching All Engines Go the other day - both out of curiosity and boredom - and like, it’s fine? It’s nothing special and there’s always going to be that feeling of ‘This is what they replaced the og series with?’ but I don’t think it’s as bad as everybody says it is. That being said, it’s not great either.
Like, I think the main thing that stops it from being like HiT era quality (Which doesn’t sound much better now that I think about it) is stuff like the wheel hands and the jumping off the rails.
Personally, I can deal with there being actual child, teen (Is Ashima a teenager? That’s what I’ve been hearing), and adult engines. It raises a lot of weird questions, but I can deal with it. I can deal with the basic ass season nine plots. But the noodle axles and shit is a bit much.
And I’m not sure where I stand on the show as a whole? Cos I think the character designs are cute. Most of them, at least. Some of the music makes me weirdly nostalgic for 2000′s era Nick Jr. for some reason? And I think some of the episodes could fit in the original series with some tweaking (A Thomas Promise, A Quiet Delivery, and Kana Goes Slow all come to mind.). And I think I’d be fine and not care either way if it was running alongside the original series.
But it isn’t.
If Mattel had kept doing the original show, as BWBA or just normal Thomas, and marketed AEG as a side series geared towards an even younger audience, sort of like how Hasbro had Trasformers: Prime and Transformers: Rescue Bots, that would have been fine. Fans of the old series would have been happy and new fans could have a good jumping on point. But they canned the old show (I think because of low toy sales and lower views? Don’t quote me on that) and replaced it with All Engines Go.
I don’t know, dude. Like, I know there are people young and old who really enjoy All Engines Go, and that’s fine. I like stuff like Misty Island Rescue and season fifteen. I’m the absolute last person to give other people grief for what they like. But me personally? I’m probably gonna finish season one and the movie, maybe watch a couple Bruno and Ashima episodes, and be done with it.

1. When did you first start writing?
for the sake of simplicity I'm just gonna talk about roleplay. but, oh man. I was roleplaying on forums and in multiplayer games (WolfQuest man) pre-2012. circa 2012 I met my first crush (shoutout to K, wherever you are !) who introduced me to tumblr. the rest is, as they say, history. I have, honestly, only really used tumblr as an rp platform. XD I ran a personal blog for awhile, but then I switched to rp.
my first rp blog was for an au version of Clint Barton. in the time since I've written 20+ canon muses and 50+ original characters from a variety of fandoms, as well as fandomless. Kaey is my oldest character, who I started writing in 2015.
otherwise some notable muses include... every Assassin's Creed protagonist up to Syndicate (no joke), including multiple side characters (Clay Kaczmarek, my love). also every Avenger from the first MCU movie, p much every recruitable companion / side character in DA:I (again, no joke), and characters from at least 2 fandoms you probably would not have on your "puffin roleplayed in this fandom" bingo card. XD
just for funsies, I have added clues in the tags to help you get a bingo (not including fandoms I've already mentioned above) on this hypothetical bingo card XD
