Just saw the music video for Thot Shit for the first time and, like, holy shit. that's a whole ass twilight zone episode dissecting the hypersexualization of working class black women. First music video I've ever seen where I straight up do not feel qualified to comment on the nuances of everything that's going on here. There's race, there's class, there's gender, there's all sorts of shit going on. There's power, there's racialization and white fear of black people just living their lives. There's the hypocrisy of objectifying black women while criticizing them for being sexy. There's the focus on a white dude when the black women are doing all the work. There's one(1) shot of a white women in a frumpy suit utterly failing to keep up with all the black women's moves. And then the guy's face gets transmogrified into a pussy at the end? That's the one bit I actually just don't understand. There's, like LAYERS to everything going on here.
And wow, I found an interview where she talks about what inspired it and she's so humble downplaying it, like "oh haha I just liked the way it sounded when I came up with it in the shower"
you gotta click through to watch it on youtube, because it is, like, the most twerking asses I have ever seen in a single video, and also there's a genuinely unsettling cronenberg bit at the end, so it's age restricted.

original thief series basso & garrett :)
ngl, it's about quality over quantity for me. an npc can have a total of three minutes of screen time, but if they have a cool name, they can live rent free in my head and I'll spend several hours trying to decipher drawable features from a blurry screenshot of pixels
there is a vague hint of a story here, and that's because every time I try to play thi4f, I get incredibly frustrated with how Not Fun the game play is. like, is the story good? well. but it has a PLAGUE. that should've given it instant 'I'll replay this once a year' status in my heart, but the game play sucks so bad that I've never finished it. I can't believe Not Fun gameplay beat out my obsession with narrative plagues.
anyway, the idea is basically if the original era had a game with a plague centric narrative and some other stuff I liked out of thi4f thrown into a narrative blender, with a heavy dash of horror thrown in because some parts of the thief games were scarier to me than entire dedicated horror genre games.

all dps fanfiction is so fucking good but the one thing that I disagree with is people writing that todd isn't good with words, usually in the context of love confessions or whatever. like yuh my guy doesn't talk a lot, but that boy is a POET and a writer. he knows exactly what he wants to say, and how to say it, he just gets choked up on the delivery because of his anxiety. out of the two of them, neil is bad with words. he's an actor who needs a script to get through a single conversation without it turning into nonsense

I mean sometimes they dug at night, thats one way
but you also have to realize that the trench lines weren't that close to each other, basically when the war ground to a stop both armies stopped at just outside of direct fire range and started digging in, no man's land was often a few football field's wide, with trees and hills and stuff between the two lines, things that got flattened by 4 straight years of shelling into the muddy hell you see in movies but in the first days of digging that would have blocked views
from there they slowly dug closer toward the enemy but like I said they were never close enough to reach out and touch
See I knew they were never that close but I do also remember the reason why I had the question to begin with was our teacher said that the trenches could be as close as 10 meters away from each other in certain areas which just made me think of these two dudes awkwardly digging pretending not to see each other although if they were digging at night it'd probably be easier to politely ignore each other

post-s11 Tami definitely gets tired of Lip and leaves him.
yes, I do like them as a couple, I think it is an interesting dynamic and that Tami is good for him honestly, even though they lived completely different lives and crash so many times because of it throughout the last seasons.
fact is Lip won't ever change and will keep making the same kind of mistakes and she will get fed up with it eventually. they'll go different ways, maybe keep a somewhat friendly relationship, and she will get a new partner and Lip will have a Sean kind of relationship with Fred: that kid is the most important thing in his whole life and he's constantly hunted by the fear of drinking again and hurting Fred.
