i'm begging you guys to start pirating shit from streaming platforms. there are so many websites where you can stream that shit for free, here's a quick HOW TO:
1) Search for: watch TITLE OF WORK free online
Tumblr media
2) Scroll to the bottom of results. Click any of the "Complaint" links
Tumblr media
3) You will be taken to a long list of links that were removed for copyright infringement. Use the 'find' function to search for the name of the show/movie you were originally searching for. You will get something like this (specifics removed because if you love an illegal streaming site you don't post its url on social media)
Tumblr media
4) each of these links is to a website where you can stream shit for free. go to the individual websites and search for your show/movie. you might have to copy-paste a few before you find exactly what you're looking, but the whole process only takes a minute. the speed/quality is usually the same as on netflix/whatever, and they even have subtitles! (make sure to use an adblocker though, these sites are funded by annoying popups)
In conclusion, if you do this often enough you will start recognizing the most dependable websites, and you can just bookmark those instead. (note: this is completely separate from torrenting, which is also a beautiful thing but requires different software and a vpn)
you can also download the media in question (look for a "download" button built into the video window, or use a browser extension such as Video DownloadHelper.)

Sonic Prime: "Season 2"
Tumblr media
Eight more episodes of Sonic Prime are out! They're labeled as "season 2" despite just being the next eight episodes of the first (and presumably only) season, allowing Netflix to market it as multiple seasons without having to give the cast and crew raises. They love doing that shit to their original cartoons. Ugh.
Anyway! Last time, I gave the show some leeway because it was still finding its legs. This time, though? We're now two thirds of the way through the series, and sadly, I think it's time to accept the truth:
While there are parts I like, a lot of this show... kinda sucks?
Tumblr media
This multiverse sucks and Rouge was robbed
Previously, I noted the pattern of each universe spotlighting a different friend of Sonic's (Tails in New Yolk City, Amy in the jungle world, Knuckles in the pirate world) and predicted that, hopefully, Rouge would get her time to shine next. And with 16 episodes left, surely there's time to explore new worlds that are more interesting than the jungle and pirate worlds. Those were just the warm up act. Right?
...Right?
Nope! That's it! There are no more worlds.
This multiverse show where anything is possible really is just about another Eggman-controlled dystopia world, a jungle world, and a pirate world. That's all they came up with! Just those three, and two dead worlds that don't really count - one a featureless wasteland, the other a ghostly echo of the original Green Hill dubbed "Ghost Hill." (Sonic's friends appear here as holograms stuck repeating a single line each. It gets old immediately.)
The jungle and pirate worlds and their inhabitants being so overwhelmingly generic becomes unforgivable the moment you realize this is all we're gonna get. It just leaves me wishing they'd thrown this whole concept out and finally made a normal Sonic cartoon with no twist in its premise. A few of the new takes here are good, particularly Nine as a darker riff on Tails, but so many of them don't feel anything like the fun characters they're supposed to be. They're stock cartoon characters wearing the Sonic casts' skins.
I'll admit my bias is showing, but god, Rouge is REALLY done dirty by this setup. The normal Rouge we see in the first episode is so fun for how briefly she appears, but then in all the other worlds she's reduced to a generic action girl with zero personality. What's her purpose, exactly, when every AU version of Amy is ALSO a straightforward action girl? It drives me absolutely insane that they gave us a PIRATE ROUGE and she doesn't care about treasure. They do nothing with this! How!!!!!!!! She's just never gonna get her turn. It's so obvious that Rouge is only in this show so that they can have another girl, but you could swap her out with another character like Blaze and it'd make no difference.
Speaking of the pirates, though...
Tumblr media
The way things play out in the pirate world is so stupid
Previously, with the Paradox Prism shard within reach, Captain Dread Knux was regressing into his old obsessive personality. I'm fine with this. Sonic and Dread both want the shard, they're gonna fight over it. Obvious stuff. But the actual impact it has on the story is maybe the stupidest bit of writing in this entire show so far.
Basically, while fighting a couple of the Eggmen and their robots at sea, Sonic has to briefly run over to the enemy ship to fight them and grab the Paradox Prism shard while Dread and his crew remain back on their ship. Dread goes "Oh my god, look! Sonic's abandoning us! Traitor!" While Sonic is... like 200 feet away. Still in clear view. Fighting the guys who are trying to kill them. Retrieving Dread's beloved treasure for him.
And yet, Dread's crew buys this! And when Sonic runs right back over with the shard in hand, they're all like "HOW DARE YOU BETRAY US" and turn on him.
It's just. What?!
This isn't a huge part of the "season," but I highlight it as maybe the worst moment of the show's character writing. I'm reminded of Thorn Rose's backstory from last time, where she was depicted as suddenly snapping one day when she saw her friends pick one too many berries in the jungle. Sometimes a character just needs to pivot for the story to work, and they aren't really interested in getting there smoothly.
Tumblr media
The Chaos Council fucking sucks
I tried so hard to like these guys, but they drag the show down so much.
The choice to have a team of five different Eggmen really just means that Eggman has been split into five one-note characters. Four of them revolve entirely around the most trite, predictable, boomer-ass jokes based on their ages. The teenage one is whiny and just wants to play video games. The young adult one is a vegan hipster who does yoga. The old one is cranky about all the whippersnappers and has a bad back. The baby is a baby. These are jokes that would've been tired if this show aired 20 years ago.
The odd man out is Mister Doctor Eggman, the middle-aged one with a toupee who's the stand-in for regular Eggman. But even he kinda sucks. The other four all being one-note joke characters means that he has to be the straight man of the group, so he's just very dry and serious and plot-focused without any of Eggman's fun eccentricities. He's neither particularly funny nor particularly sinister, which is just about the worst place for an Eggman to be.
He doesn't even have any incompetent robot lackeys to bounce off of, because the unfunny alternate age Eggmen fill the quota for bumbling secondary villains. But also, like... Orbot and Cubot are in this show! They were in the first episode! Where are they? God, I never thought I'd miss them so much...
But, okay. It's not ALL bad.
Tumblr media
The highlights
There's a recurring theme here, which is that the best episodes are the ones where Sonic is pitted against a foe who can match his speed and they just let the animation carry it.
The first of the new episodes is mostly about Sonic fighting Shadow, and BOY is their fight fun to watch. Said fight happens because Shadow blames Sonic for shattering the universe and doesn't trust him to fix things. Shadow wants to restore their world, but he refuses to see the various AU counterparts as the same people Sonic once knew, and he doesn't really care what happens to them. Ultimately, though, he begrudgingly accepts that Sonic really is the only one who can hop between dimensions for Plot Reasons, and therefore lets him go try to do things the nice way. He sadly spends most of his time waiting around in the void between worlds, but in the last episode of the batch he and Sonic get to team up against the Chaos Council's forces and it's very cool.
As far as recent interpretations of Shadow go, this is a good one. He's a great foil for Sonic, which just makes me wish he could travel with Sonic to the different worlds. He's cynical and overly pragmatic in his approach, but his points aren't entirely wrong. His anger feels justified. They even let him have some snark! And Ian Hanlin is really great in the role - definitely a contender for Shadow's best voice ever. He just sounds so natural.
Tumblr media
The other speedster Sonic fights is Chaos Sonic, the Chaos Council's take on Metal.
He can talk! Deven is basically doing a Jaleel impersonation for him? People are very mixed on this.
The idea behind Chaos Sonic is to turn Sonic's obnoxious smack talk and zingers back around on him, and I don't hate this idea, even if a lot of fans find him annoying compared to Metal Sonic. (Some comparisons have been made to Archie's Shard, but I assume this is a coincidence.) Like the rest of the script, his dialogue certainly isn't anything to write home about, but the fights he gets into with Sonic and co. are so damn fun and dynamic that I have to like him. I also like how expressive his eyes are on his dome screen face, and the animators have a ton of fun with the fact that his torso and head can rotate 360 degrees.
Unfortunately, he's destroyed at the end of his debut episode. I'm praying he gets rebuilt, because this show desperately needs better villains than the Chaos Council.
Again, the animation in Prime is maybe the best animation in any official Sonic media, period. I just wished I liked the characters and worlds enough to be invested in more of the fights. It's hard to care about the dozenth group battle against the generic Eggforcer bots and the baby in his Fisher-Price mech.
Tumblr media
The note we end on
After fighting a giant glowing replica of the normal Eggman for... some reason? Episode 16 ends with Sonic and Nine getting into an argument over what to do with the Paradox Prism shards. Sonic wants to restore his original world, but Nine still wants to create a new, better world out of the one that's just an empty wasteland, believing he doesn't belong anywhere else. Nine angrily runs off with the shards, and Sonic is distraught as he realizes that Shadow was seemingly right about how he shouldn't trust Nine.
I kind of like this conflict, mostly because Nine is the standout character of this show. But my main problem is that we don't know what will happen when everything is fixed.
The logical assumption is that the alternate worlds will just... stop existing, right? That must be the idea if Sonic and Nine are treating restoring the original world and creating a new one in the Shatterverse as mutually exclusive options, right? If the Shatterverse disappears, will Nine and the rest all stop existing, too? The show seems unwilling to discuss this possibility, so I'm left not really knowing what the stakes are in this conflict. Nine becomes a whole lot more sympathetic and Sonic becomes a whole lot more monstrous if restoring the world will erase most of this show's cast from existence, but the thought that this could even happen doesn't seem to have crossed Sonic's mind. Sonic seems to want to take his AU friends back to the regular Green Hill - he at least wants to introduce Nine to his normal friends - but like... he can't really do that, can he? They're not gonna have four Tailses running around.
I don't really know what direction this is all headed in. I guess we just have to keep watching, even if I'm past the point of accepting that this show is mostly very mid.
It's just frustrating that everyone else working on this show is clearly giving it their all while the writers at Man of Action phone it in for so much of its runtime. The scripts drag this show down so, so hard. There are moments and episodes I like, but you have to slog through so much mediocrity to get there.

Something I really lament is the move towards digital media. Slowly we start to never own the things we like. Even if we "buy" a digital game, or movie or show. It's locked behind a certain platform or service. Once it shuts down we lose it forever.
Tumblr media
(me when big booby anime girl explosion Is taken off of Netflix)
I also feel like there's a certain charm to owning physical media, like things you can hold and the satisfaction from pressing a clicky button or putting a disc or cassette in and seeing it work.
Tumblr media
(oooh so classy so retro so.. expensive in the modern day)
More people should try to make copies of what they own digitally, or try to buy physical media before it's lost from streaming services and digital storefronts forever. Like the case with certain games like Godzilla 2014 and Transformers War for Cybertron. They don't exist digitally anymore. Only hard copies exist outside of emulation and at insane resell prices like... INSANE ones for a mediocre Godzilla game
Tumblr media
So yea. Buy some more CDs of those albums you have on replay! Buy a DVD of that niche obscure anime you like! And most importantly PLEASE PLEASE START MAKING HARD BACKUPS OF SHOWS YOU LIKE THAT YOU PIRATE!!! media preservation is important!
Tumblr media
(me downloading every episode of Daredevil onto my hard drive to burn to a DVD later so I can give it to all my friends)
This is now going to be a Comprehensive guide on how to rip a CD
POLL TIME!
Burning and Ripping Disc's❤️❤️💕💕🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️
STEP ONE:
BUY A CHEAP BLU-RAY/DVD DRIVE FOR YOUR WINDOWS COMPUTER
here are some I recommend!!!
i personally use this pioneer one :)))
DVD drives in general are relatively cheap from 30-20 smackeroos, but Blu-ray drives are around 80-100 bucks depending on the manufacturer but offer better support for copying HD video such as on a Blu-ray.
STEP TWO:
FIND A PIECE OF MEDIA YOU ENJOY.
in this case its gonna be a CD!!
i really enjoy Vespertine by Bjork, but i wanna have it on my computer just in case anything happens to my CD. SO. ill open Windows Media Player
Tumblr media
(she hasn't changed since 2011 <3333 be urself girl)
NEXT
ill insert the disc into the player. and it'll start playing!
Pause the disc and go into Rip settings
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NEXT!! select the format!
if you want to conserve space and don't mind sacrificing audio quality select MP3! if you want to hear the same level of audio quality as preserved on the CD, select a format labelled LOSSLESS. I recommend .WAV files as they'll work with most devices including an android phone or iTunes on PC (more on that later ;3 )
NEXT!
create a folder on whatever u wanna save ur music to! (u can call it whatever u want the world is your oyster bestie)
THEN!!! FINALLY
go into more options on the Rip Settings menu!
select ur folder and press Rip CD!!!!
the fun thing of this now, is that you can pull these files on your computer and put it onto your Android device so you can listen to your hearts content without lugging around your CD in a player at high quality without any subscription service with free reign of who you can give your download to!
But Magenta! what if i have an iPhone?
ohohoo fear not bestie because iTunes on PC has an even EASIER way to do it
because simply putting in a disc with iTunes downloaded prompts THIS
Tumblr media
(oooo so new age)
and if you have apple music on your iPhone this will sync to your phone if you logged into iTunes on PC!!
thank you for coming to my TED talk

Hi there piratefam!
Happy Black Sails Netflix day! 🥳 🏴‍☠️🥳
A quick reminder that we have a little Black Sails Kink Meme running right now (live up til the end of Summer 2024!) The link above is to the event collection of fills and below I'm posting some more info about how to participate if you haven't yet heard about it! :D <3
--
Premise--
I’m encouraging as informal and low stress/pressure of an atmosphere as possible here. Back in The Day when LiveJournal Kink Memes were common, it was very typical to see a prompt put up and filled within an hour. It doesn’t have to be polished, it doesn’t have to make logistical sense, it just has to fill the prompt as best as you can, sexily! It’s supposed to be fun. A bunch of fun, raunchy kink and smut to roll around in as a fandom. 🥳 🥳
So yeah, first thing to expect, it’s basically ALL PWP (porn without plot). Not to say that someone can’t write a full plot epic if they like, do whatever you like, but in my experience, a 4am fugue state smut fill written in a sweaty haze is kind of, the spirit of the thing. We’re creating ficlets, snapshots, tasty treats of smut with as little pressure to make it in any way polished as possible. Please think of this as, hmmm, a little fun writing exercise you do before you go back to your Big Serious Work, if that helps. We are letting loose, we are having fun, we are being deliciously, joyously, unrepentantly filthy with it! The tagline for the event is: “Get High, Jerk Off Three Times, and Write Me a Warmup :DD”
Literally ask for whatever smut you want~~ This is your chance, toss it into the pot! It will be tagged accordingly when posted if it’s filled, so live your truth, chase your bliss, know no shame, no one can see you~~
--
Rules--
–This is an 18 plus event, please, as all of the content will be Explicit.
–It is also a Black Sails Only Event, please no crossover prompts or fills. However, AU of all types are encouraged with our favorite pirates.
–All ships, all kinks, are welcome for submission, and the fill will then be tagged appropriately. If you have any questions on how to tag something, or just want another pair of eyes to confirm, you can always DM me <3
–Fills must be 500 words minimum of fic. There is no maximum and the fill is allowed to be WIP if you intend to write more chapters later. I would encourage that the content of the prompt be IN the first chapter at least before submission to the collection.
–We’re Gonna Be Nice and Civil!! No ship bashing, no kink shaming, we’re all mature adults here. If you don’t like something, then don’t fill it, don’t reblog it, don’t read it, pretend you do not see it. If you don’t like it, it’s not for you!
--
Logistics--
For prompts-- you may submit ANON ASK PROMPTS to this blog. I will publish them with a number and a link to the collection. If you like one of the prompts, simply post it through the collection with its corresponding number and then that AO3 link to your fill will be reblogged underneath the original ask prompt. It is helpful when submitting a prompt to give details that are important to you, and the prompt filler will do their best with it. <3 So, I suggest giving a ship specification up front, maybe a vague timeline (season 1, season 2, etc), and then the kinks you want to see with a short description.
For fills-- There is NO CLAIMING PROCESS NECESSARY! If you see a prompt that strikes your fancy, you are IMMEDIATLEY encouraged and free to fill it, there is NO LIMIT ON FILLS for each prompt!
Both prompt submissions and fills will be open simultaneously through the entire span of the event.
The entire collection is marked Anonymous, which means any work submitted to it will be posted Anon. There is no option you need to worry about checking to guarantee this.
After the event is closed, if you want to then de-anon your work, that is your prerogative. However, it will mean you must remove the work from the collection, as the collection itself will forever and always remain anonymous.
As more prompts come in, I will continue to assign them numbers and post them using the tag #2024BSKMemePrompts. As they come in, fills will be reblogged under their prompt using the tag #2024BSKMemeFills.
(PS: If you submit your fill and do not see it immediately, please remember it’s just me handling the organization and I might be asleep. But rest assured just as SOON as I get the notification on the collection I will publish it on Tumblr.)
Information regarding posting to AO3 collections can be found here. The expanded guidelines and rules for fills can be found here.
If you are unsure of something, tags, anything at all, or if you have questions I haven't covered here: please do not hesitate to reach out to me either through the event blog or my main @jaynovz. I will respond to questions as soon as I’m able :DD
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE, HAVE FUN IN THE SPLASH ZONE OF SMUT AND KINK~~ 🎉🎉

@elegysonnet
I don't know anything about Geno so he's not currently in the AU. But if I gathered enough info maybe I could add him somehow. Like I did with Rosalina! :00
As for the Error Sans thing, I'm actually not personally a fan of all the crazy Sans AUs. Error Sans, Ink Sans, Dream Sans, Nightmare Sans, Fresh Sans, Geno Sans, Horror Sansss,,, uhg, I'm personally not a fan. So none of these world destroying Sans or other similar individuals exist in my Multiverse. So my squad doesn't have to worry about them <XD
My redesign plans for Kinger was just to give him a fluffier coat basically XD And I didn't have anything in mind for Jax..
Also thank you! :DD
Tumblr media
@deadspooderman (I blocked out the art, I don't wanna be a reposter!)
I think I've watched a few episodes before but I don't remember them..
Although I can see myself liking that Sensei character. XD What's his name.. Sensei Wu..?
Tumblr media
Thank you, I hope the same for you! :DD
As for Jevil, the poor guy's currently still awake at like 2 AM to keep the groups fire going.. :(
Tumblr media
GASSPPP.. THEY CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY??? RUNNING TO NETFLIX RN-
Tumblr media
@milk-powrit
Right now the main difference that I made up is that Undertale humans are significantly more powerful than Deltarune Humans.
DR Humans and Monsters are the same in terms of strength. For example, Kris and Susie's soul are of the same value and strength. Because they're both Lighteners. They're one in the same.
Meanwhile in Undertale, Humans and Monsters are very different creatures. Determined UT Humans, even determined children have the power to rewrite time. Meanwhile I headcannond that DR humans, even if they had determination.. cannot rewrite time like Frisk can.
All of this is completely made up and doesn't really align with the games, I'm aware- its just some fun XDD
Tumblr media
@octonauts16
Becuase I haven't felt like it XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THANK YOU!!! :DDDD I'M GLAD YOU LIKE WHAT YOU SEE! :DDD
Tumblr media
@beryl-shade
I feel like canon Seam definitely does. But my Seam and Jevil don't have stuffing. The two of them are very much organic creatures with flesh and blood.
Spamton is fleshy too kind'a.. Spamton is a living creature but maybe less fleshy and more... bone..y...?? They're all strange XDD
Tumblr media
Thank you! I don't intend on drawing anything new for my Kirby AU.. but who knows, maybe I will someday? Or heck maybe if I can remember to, I could dig around for some of the doodles I already made for it? :0
Also its not a FNAF comic that I'm working on.. but thank you anyway! <XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's meant to sound like a pirate, soooo yesn't? <XD Also thank you!
Tumblr media
Ah, that's my bad. I've unblocked her. But take note! Part of the reason why I probably blocked that person was also due to a lack of posts. You're on Tumblr man, you gotta reblog stuff!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah don't worry, I'm likely to get back around to Octonauts sometime soon :}}
Tumblr media
Upon Googling them I think I recognize them! I like the green one XDD
Tumblr media
WAIT!! WHAT IF THEY'RE LACTOSE INTOLERANT???
Tumblr media
@2006-stupid-thatsme
oooo that's a good question.. uhhhhh.... currently? I'd say maybe its the FNAF AU I've got going on :000
Tumblr media
By father I assume you mean Natquik? If so, Barnacles was never angry or resentful towards him. My version of Barnacles thought Natquik was dead, because he disappeared many years ago and no one had any idea where he went..
Barnacles was rather grief stricken over Natquik. He wondered for years what happened to his old mentor and friend..
When it turned out he was alive, and had just been stranded in the Antarctic all these years? It was heartbreaking. Barnacles was so happy to see him alive but also so saddened by the situation he had been in for so long.. Barnacles immediately set to have the Gup-I repaired and a solid radio connection between it and the Octopod to be established.
Later on when he formed the Octo-agents. I headcannond that the very first person Barnacles went to recruit was Natquik. Telling him all the benefits of being an Octo-Agent. And he would say things like "If something ever happens to you out here, we have the funds and the means to be out here in less than an hour. If you're ever hurt o-or sick? We can be here. We can help you. You'd never be alone again.."
Natquik took the offer partially because Barnacles would clearly be more at ease if he did. But also to have a secure connection to the outside world? And if that connection is ever lost, a team of capable individuals will immediately go and search for him? It was just too good to pass up.
Tumblr media
@djadecutie
When I get back around to the comics it will be just like it was before. A comic probably split into 2-4 parts and uploaded when ever I'm able to finish them. 🤷‍♂️
Also thank you! :DD

@crimson-thinker
What's Foxy's grief stereotype/virus method? I'm not quite sure I understand the question so forgive me if I give the wrong answer.. But I'm thinking that means "what is Foxy's mental situation in the swap AU?" If that's the case, his mental state can be described in 1 sentence. "He refuses to move on."
Partial Swap Foxy was deeply effected by the loss of Freddy and Chica. So much so that he kind'a acts like.. they're still around.?
The other animatronics have cut out anything Freddy/Chica related in their lives. But for Foxy, the act of removing/avoiding everything Freddy/Chica related just makes the grief more painful. To him it feels like he's discarding their memory. Like doing that is saying they didn't matter or shouldn't be remembered. It just makes them feel more dead..
Foxy is the only animatronic that will go back to that old show stage. Sometimes in his darkest times he will talk to the stage. As if Freddy and Chica are still standing on it and can hear him..
When talking to Gregory, he is similar to Freddy. Acting all chipper and like nothing is wrong. Though if Freddy and Chica are mentioned.. he wouldn't avoid the subject like Freddy would. He would talk about them, even if it rips him up from the inside. He would answer all of Gregory's questions about them and tell him stories. Even if it brought him to tears and their memory was almost too painful to bear. Foxy refuses to let go of the past. And despite how painful it is, he keeps dragging the past around with him like a dead weight. Freddy does the same thing but as he drags the past around he refuses to look at it. If.. If that makes sense--
Basically- Freddy and Foxy are both stuck in the past. But Freddy refuses to acknowledge that he is. And Foxy openly acknowledges it, even if it kills him inside..
(Also note: The main obstacle that Foxy would pose to little Vanessa is that Foxy is faster than Bonnie. And as a Glamrock, Foxy is pretty tough. So if he finds out that Bonnie is hiding a child in his stomach hatch? Well.. he might just have the means necessary to catch Bonnie and rip her out.. :x )
For the second question! Partial swap Freddy is more openly miserable than Classic Bonnie, yes.. But he doesn't miss the singing and the spot light. He misses his friends and making kids happy.
Seeing how sad all his friends are.. seeing how messed up Foxy is.. how defeated Bonnie is.. that's what depresses him. That's what makes him cry..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you! I'm so glad you like him! :DDD
Tumblr media
I imagined that Freddy just threw the old clothes away. They were really dirty and torn and Gregory didn't care about them.
He probably took some trash out of a bin, put the clothes in and then put the trash on top. Effectively burying the clothes so that no one would see it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AAA THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :DDDD✨💜💖✨
Tumblr media
@ocinstituterep
1: ReBLOGS, are allowed. RePOSTS, are NOT allowed. 👌
2: My Glamrock Freddy is probably pretty depressed :( and his depression has had years to develop and get slowly worse. 7-10 on the depressing scale.
But partial swap Freddy? His life just came crashing down. So he may also be depressed now, but he hasn't had any time to really develop it. Probablyyyy a 4-10?

@dragon-fly34
I'm glad you like my AU! But sorry! I don't take requests and I don't personally support that ship.. <:/

"The Star Clown" - One Piece & FFNAF Crossover - Reader Insert (Implied William Afton x Reader & Buggy x Reader) (1...)
Tumblr media
AN: Not sure how to tag this, can be seen as a follow-up on [this is a nice job ](which doesn't feature Buggy), or can be seen as the first of a series involving Buggy in this setting.
Summary: You're working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place for William Afton and Mr. Henry, when a new clown comes to perform. Buggy 'the star clown' is a grumpy pirate-clown. But he is also ... attractive.
Fandoms: Five Nights at Freddy's, One Piece (Especially the Netflix adaptation Buggy Rating: Teen? Warnings: Older man/younger woman, Nothing Explicit (yet), Only implied William Afton x Reader & Buggy x Reader, Flirting with bad guys? Touching without consent. Grumpy pirate clown with backstory. Modern day life/Contemporary setting. Lucy is sweet and Erica is up for some. Reader likes her job around kids. Not betaread. [ Support x ]
Tumblr media
“He should be here any minute,” you heard the gruff voice of your boss. Mr. Afton was standing in the doorway to his office, gesturing at Erica who was having the same shift as you today, clearly giving instruction.
“Send him to me when he gets here.”
You darted between tables, the clamor of excited voices and the electric jingle of arcade games thrumming in your ears. Balloons bobbed on strings like cheerful specters, casting multicolored shadows over the cake-smeared faces of children hopped up on sugar and the thrill of play. The air was thick with the scent of pizza grease and icing, like a cocktail of childhood indulgence.
"Refills!" a small, imperious voice commanded. You obliged, pouring soda into a cup with the practiced ease of someone who'd done this a thousand times before.
You had, but hey… This was so much better than the last job you had held. Imagine that.
"More napkins!" another demanded from across the room. You grabbed a stack, weaving through the chaos like it was a dance.
"So this Buggy?"Lucy's voice reached your ears from behind the prize counter. "Are you excited?”
Erica’s laugh was a joyful melody over the excited noises all around you. She stood next to the counter, leaning her hip against it. "I mean, I hope he’s at least entertaining. I heard he’s a Pirate Clown.”
“You mean some grown-ass man dresses up like a pirate clown?” Lucy’s disbelief was audible and it made you halt your step and choke back a giggle. Lucy was such a gullible girl, but the way she could be astounded about things was absolutely comical. Bless her.
“Yes. Fits the whole theme of the party nicely,” Erica continued as if she hadn’t noticed Lucy’s surprise. “Pirate parties are popular.”
“But there’s no such thing as a clown pirate, is there?” Lucy was still astonished when you rounded by a bit too close and she latched onto you, calling your name.
“Have you ever heard of a clown pirate?” she looked at you all earnestly, a deep frown on her delicate features, her long blonde ponytail draped over her shoulder as she held onto your shoulder in concern. “A pirate clown?”
Before you could answer, the door swung open with a bravado that snatched the air from the room.
Buggy ‘the Star Clown’ – as they called him – entered the building with a flair that had the three of you looking at him breathlessly.
You had seen many clowns from Ha-Ha’s agency, but this one was unlike any you had expected. They had tall guys, big guys, small ones, thin ones like ‘Carnival’ – who did most of the gigs here. But this one… You stood frozen at the spot as the light from outside lit up the tall and well-built man’s frame.
Blue hair, wild and untamed, spilled out the sides of a pirate tricorn headpiece, the jolly roger grinning wickedly at its front. His mustard-colored coat hung open, showing a striped jacket clinging to his frame, hinting at the strength beneath.
"Damn," Erica's voice dropped to a whisper, her earlier mockery forgotten.
"I suppose a clown pirate ‘s not so bad then," Lucy murmured back, eyes trailing over Buggy's form like fingers itching to touch.
You silently agreed but opted to remain quiet, admiring the man from afar.
He moved, the three of you moving your heads along. Boots, black as the abyss, carried him forward with an easy confidence. The brown cravat around his neck did little to cover the naked chest underneath, glistening with a sheen of sweat in the dim light of the restaurant.
His brown pants were wrapped tight around his well-shaped legs. His face was painted white like a clown’s with a Jolly Rodger skeleton and skull painted on his forehead. Blue stripes adorned his eyes. His nose was a clown’s. Red. White gloves, innocent yet deceptive, flexed at his sides. And yet, he had something dangerously seductive about him. His blue eyes seemed to smolder as he stepped inside.
“He’s fit,” Erica gasped, fluttering one of the coasters as if to cool herself down a little.
"Fit doesn't even start to cover it," Lucy breathed out, stealing glances.
"Grown-ass man or not, I wouldn't mind him boarding my ship," Erica added, a smirk tilting her lips as she deliberately ignored your groan. She placed the coaster down and pushed herself away from the bar. “This is my cue.”
“You’re lucky the boss asked you to chaperone ‘im,” Lucy whispered while Erica passed her. Then she called after her a little louder. “Good luck. Go get ‘im tiger.”
She turned to you with a wide smile. “Aint she lucky, eh?” She said. And all you could do was nod. You quickly spun on your heels and picked up an empty tray to keep yourself busy, filling it with empty cups and boxes from the party tables.
Behind you, you heard Lucy’s lilting voice as she happily helped parents and kids who came to place orders. You also heard Erica’s excited giggles as she led Buggy to William Afton.
You shuffled past the glittering arcade machines. Buggy stood off to the side, partially hidden behind a garishly painted pillar, his broad back to the room. Mr. Afton, your boss, approached him with that too-wide smile plastered on his face, the one that never quite reached his eyes.
"Everything set for the grand entrance?" Afton asked, voice dripping with faux warmth.
"Damn speaker's busted again," Buggy spat out, his voice a growl, laced with frustration. His white-gloved hands flexed into fists at his sides, the red-and-white stripes of his jacket stretching over his muscular arms.
"Fix it later," Afton dismissed with a wave of his hand. "Erica, can you put this on the main?” You saw how he handed her a USB stick that Buggy must have handed him earlier on. Erica hurried off.
William Afton’s eyes slid to you and you quickly turned away from them. “I’m glad you’re on time. Not your first Rodeo, I heard.”
“Been doing these things for a while,” Buggy grunted. “Fuck, sorry. I just don’t seem to have my day.”
You lost track of the conversation, their voices blurring into the background noise while you cleaned and stepped further away from them.
The new clown looked handsome in this odd, unpredictable way. Even your colleagues were affected, turning into true Buggy simps.
But looks can be deceiving, you reminded yourself. His language was foul, worse than any of the other clowns you’d seen perform. His expression even fouler. Why would Afton hire a man like that?
Could Buggy even entertain kids?
He somehow didn’t seem qualified to do that.
He might look attractive, with a glint in his eye and well-shaped legs, muscled arms, a strong chest… Okay, stop your thoughts right there. You squeezed the handles of the tray a little tighter and forced a smile when a kid came running by. Looks weren’t everything, you had to remind yourself firmly.
Luckily no one could read your thoughts or see the filth your mind provided. You shouldn’t think such thoughts in a public place full of young kids and boisterous families. You’d come closer to the entrance again, to Afton’s office, and heard the first tunes of music.
Then, your boss’s voice. “Showtime, Buggy."
"Sure, put on the show, dance the dance," Buggy muttered under his breath, his blue hair shifting as he shook his head in barely concealed disgust. He turned sharply on his heel, the black boots thudding against the floor.
The music queued up, a jaunty, sea shanty tune, and Buggy transformed before your eyes. The foul temper seemed to evaporate as he strode to the front, a swagger in his step that drew the room's attention like moths to a flame. Children's faces lifted, eyes wide, mouths agape.
“Yes, that’s right. Look at me, kids, I am the star here. Star Captain.” Buggy bellowed, the gruffness gone, replaced by an exaggerated cheer. "Ahoy, mateys!" His voice boomed, filling every corner of the room.
“So… Has anyone of you ever seen a circus… on a ship?”
He launched into his act with a sailor's grace, limbs flowing from one acrobatic feat to another. He somersaulted, landing with a flourish that made the kids shriek with delight. With a flick of his wrist, colorful scarves appeared, which he juggled effortlessly, throwing them higher and higher until they brushed the ceiling.
"Look at 'im go!" a child squealed, pointing as Buggy caught the scarves and transitioned into a mock sword fight with an invisible foe. He parried and thrust, his every movement a dance, the clown makeup enhancing the dramatic expressions that played across his face.
“It’s like his body is everywhere at once,” another kid gasped.
You noticed how Erica and Lucy shared a look.
“I wouldn’t mind having one of his body parts move over here,” Erica muttered, which had you stifle a smirk.
"Bravo! Bravo!" the chorus of tiny voices cheered, clapping their hands in rhythm with the beat. Laughter bubbled up around you, infectious, bright. You had the odd feeling that someone was watching you, but shook it off.
A little girl with pigtails bounced on her toes, entranced by Buggy's performance. Her joy was pure, unfiltered. It made you ache, a longing for something you couldn't name.
"More, more!" the children chanted as Buggy finished with a bow so deep the blue strands of hair that fell from his hat swept the floor. He was fit and lean all right. And that for a man of his stature.
It took a lot of you not to keep watching, entranced. You knew your female colleagues were struggling with the same. Especially Lucy was bad at hiding it, getting flustered each time she had to shake herself out of her daydreams when someone wanted to place an order.
You tried to keep up with your tasks, but that didn’t mean that you couldn’t watch the show while scrubbing tables or picking up trays. You noticed how Mr. Afton had kept his office door wide open – a thing he hardly did unless he wanted to keep an eye on someone on the staff. You suspected he was observing the new clown and thought nothing of it.
Those eyes you felt burning into you every now and again? You had suspected it was your boss keeping a check on you. But Mr. Afton was always busy with his paperwork whenever you looked his way, so it couldn’t be him, right?
Buggy was too focused on his youthful spectators, and Lucy and Erica were too focused on him, so they weren’t the ones watching you either. Perhaps it was some dad or mom, or a curious kid. You shrugged and tried to ignore the feeling whenever it came up.
By the time Buggy’s show came to an end, you were leaning against the counter. Buggy was definitely magnetic, pulling every eye to him with the force of gravity. It was hard if not impossible to look away.
"Oooh, he’s good…" Lucy whispered, her eyes still firmly pinned on Buggy and not leaving his form for a single moment. She had her arms folded in front of her chest and you couldn’t help but notice how she was pushing up her breasts a little more, standing on her tiptoes, eyes following every movement the pirate clown made with admiration.
"Who knew a clown could be... hot?" Erica murmured, fanning herself with a napkin. "Like, seriously."
You nodded, words lodged in your throat, smothered by the raw energy that Buggy exuded. His presence felt dark and electric.
He finished his performance with a flourish and the room erupted into applause. The kids were instantly on their feet, some jumping up and down, others clapping until their hands hurt, surrounding him, hugging him, thanking him. And when he hugged them back in such a natural way, it made your knees feel weak. You were almost a hundred percent certain that Lucy and Erica felt the same.
Hormone alert, you thought. You’d better turn away now before your mind would start making up all these fantasies…
Quickly spinning on your heels, you dove back to busy yourself behind the bar, confident that you could avoid looking at the handsome pirate clown so long as he was out of your sight.
But then he came striding towards you, a purposeful sway in his step.
"I could use a drink," he grunted, dropping onto a stool at the bar. It wasn't a question. It was a command.
Talk about rude...
"Sure," you stammered, heat creeping up your neck. You grabbed a cup, hands trembling. Ice clinked like warning bells as you filled it.
"Soda okay?" No way you were going to offer him anything the boss kept in the back for the thirsty dads. Not if he was already this moody...
"Whatever." His indifference was a sharp contrast to the flair of his performance. It should have put you off.
It didn't.
As he sat there, staring at the top of the bar, broad shoulders hunched, you couldn’t help but look at the blue hair that peeked out from under the white and red striped bandana. It wasn’t a wig like so many clowns used, you noticed. It was his actual hair, dyed blue. Commitment. There was a frown upon his painted face which deepened as he looked up from the bar’s surface, and those hypnotic blue-green eyes came to rest upon you.
You quickly glanced away.
"Here." You slid the drink across the counter, avoiding the pull of his gaze.
The blue stripes above and below his eyes crinkled as his lips curled into a smile, the smudged red paint around his lips made it look like he grinned even wider. His makeup reminded you a little of the other clowns that entertained here, all sent by the same agency.
"Thanks," he mutters, wrapping his white-gloved fingers around the cup.
Your breath caught as his hand brushed yours, a spark igniting somewhere deep inside. Not this again, you thought, remembering that something similar to this had happened not too long ago. A performer who had deliberately brushed past your hand when reaching for his drink, the room suddenly getting too hot, you wondering if the hot performer could be flirting with you...
"Must be hard, doing this..." You trailed off, inviting him to fill the silence with his story.
He huffed, a wry smile tugging at the corner of his painted mouth. "Every damn day is rough when you're playing the fool." He took a hefty swig from his drink, grimacing as if the soda could wash away the bitterness.
"Used to have different plans, you know? But life... it doesn't care about your plans."
“What happened?" You carefully asked, looking over to see that Lucy was being kept busy at a table. Erica was nowhere in sight. When your eyes settled upon Buggy again, the man seemed deep in thought. His gaze was distant, as if he was reliving a memory.
"Parents checked out early. Left me with a sister to look after." His voice cracked like old leather, worn and strained. His eyes suddenly snapped to you, his gaze intense. "This gig keeps a roof over our heads."
"Sorry to hear that," you said, the words sincere. You could suddenly see it now, the strain behind the facade, the weight that he invisibly carried on his shoulders.
“She’s just twelve,” he added, swirling the drink in his cup but not lifting it. “Loved to play pirates when she was younger. When I got the call to come and work as a clown, I wasn’t glad. Me, being a clown? I hate those red noses. But then she told me I could be both. Had me dress up as a pirate clown for her. Made her smile. And so I went out there and here I am.”
That had you silent for a moment, glancing at your hands. How to react to something like that?
“Been doing this now for five years and she’s still my biggest fan,” Buggy said, voice thick with emotion. “She keeps me going.”
When you looked up again you saw he was still staring at you, but something in his eyes had softened. A glossy sheen betrayed unshed tears that he managed to blink away with practiced skill.
You forced a small smile, leaning a little over the bar to him. “I think you’re a brave man,” you hesitated, not certain if you should put your hand on his arm to comfort him – as was your instinct to do. His eyes followed your hand, so you did. Just a short, gentle touch. “And an amazing performer.”
His arm felt searing hot underneath your palm, but you rested your hand there for just a moment longer, savoring his warmth despite the layers of clothes in between.
“And a good brother,” you added softly, mindful of how private this conversation felt despite being in such a public place.
Slowly, his eyes crawled their way up to meet yours again. The frown on his forehead wrinkled less. And finally, you retracted your hand. A moment longer and it would have become embarrassing. Too much.
"Thanks, darling," he said, the 'darling' rolling off his tongue like a secret promise. "Means something, coming from you."
You flashed him a smile.
“How’s your job?”
His question made you stumble and you listened to his hearty laugh. “What?” You asked as you recollected yourself and stood straight again behind the bar. “Do you want to apply?”
“Perhaps,” Buggy smirked, lifting the cup to his lips. “I’ve heard they have lovely staff here.”
“And lovely bosses,” a low gritty voice sounded. You turned around to look at your boss, William Afton, who stood looming behind you. The indoor lights reflected in his glasses, hiding his eyes from you. His lips were pressed into a thin line, arms folded in front of his chest.
He wasn't pleased.
“Nice job there, Buggy. We’ll have a chat when I get back. For now,” you heard your name being called but were too distracted by Afton’s hand on your shoulder to notice. “I need you for a moment.”
Mr. Afton then called for Lucy to come and mind the bar. She did so with a blush on her cheeks, stammering, and clumsily knocking a chair over on her way to the bar. Gosh, she really had it bad for the pirate clown, you thought.
Sourly, you followed your boss into his office, worrying your bottom lip with your teeth as you wondered what he had called you in for.
The office was cool and quiet, with the musty scent of old paper and leather. Mr. Afton closed the door, indicating that this conversation was private. You could hear the distant sounds of children laughing, their joy muffled by the thick walls, and Afton's footsteps that echoed as he moved to his desk - an ancient thing carved from dark wood and littered with papers. He sat down on the edge of it and picked up a clipboard. He looked it over once, his frown deepening and lips pursing.
"Check the list for tomorrow's parties,” he stated flatly, lifting a clipboard and holding it up for you to take.
You approached his desk with hesitant steps, pulling the checklist toward you. Afton's gaze was unyielding, almost burning into you, and you quickly focused on the list in your hands. The paper was printed neatly with columns of names and requests for cakes, decorations, and entertainment. All standard fare for children seeking out the thrill of Freddy Fazbear's.
The creaking of the desk betrayed that Afton had left it. You heard him move behind you in the room while you placed the list on the desk and bent over it, checking off items one by one.
Afton’s footsteps were heard. The air tingled with electricity, his presence dominated the room. Your senses heightened.
Then you felt it. His hands, unexpected and uninvited, rested lightly on your neck. It wasn't threatening, but it wasn't comforting either. It was ambiguous and startling – an intimate touch masquerading as something casual.
"Such tense muscles," he murmured, as though that explained his touch. You felt the hot whisper of breath against your neck. "You should relax."
His touch was feather-light but it felt like brands against your skin. You swallowed hard, trying to focus on the list again, but the letters blurred into a sea of ink.
"What is all this about?" you asked, more to yourself than him. Your voice sounded small in the cavernous room.
"Just making sure your focus is right," he replied cryptically, his voice a low whisper while his fingers brushed over the column of your neck again, ostensibly checking for knots or stiffness.
You shivered despite yourself.
"Is it all there?" He asked, voice low and raspy while his fingertips brushed past your sensitive skin.
"It’s all there," you confirmed, placing the clipboard down on his desk with more force than necessary.
Afton retreated suddenly as if pulling back from a flame. With his hands gone, you dared to turn around again. But he was already on his way back to the desk, sitting behind it this time, and running a hand through his greying hair. He grunted softly, a sound that didn’t quite reach warmth, and then moved in his seat. Was he adjusting himself down there? Your eyes widened and quickly darted up. Relieved, you saw that he was picking up the clipboard, his eyes on the list and not on you.
"Good." Afton didn't look up at you. Instead, he kept his gaze fixed on the list before him. "That was all."
Discomfort twisted in your belly as you stood there for a moment longer than needed, hesitating. But Afton seemed absorbed in his work now, not sparing you another word or glance. You quickly left the office, leaving the door ajar.
What had truly Mr. Afton wanted from you? To touch you? That couldn't be right. Right?
The carnival-like chaos of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place enveloped you once more. The clinking of tokens, electronic beeps of games being played, and the constant hum of conversation did little to dispel the unease curling through your veins like vines.
Buggy's voice, smooth as the slide of silk against skin, cut through the low hum of conversation, "- and it's out there, this 'One Piece,' just waiting for me to find it." His hands gestured expansively, painting pictures in the air that Lucy and Erica seemed desperate to grasp. Your colleagues were leaning on the bar, hanging onto Buggy’s every word.
“Wait, what is this one piece exactly?” Lucy asked, fully invested in Buggy’s tale.
"The job that'll set me up for life," he continued with a glint in his eye that mirrored distant treasure. "No more costumes or grease paint. Something that’ll make me rich."
Lucy giggled. “Now wouldn’t that be nice?”
Erica leaned forward, her voice a purr of curiosity, "Any idea what it’ll be? Acting? Modeling?"
Well, he could with his looks, you thought as you silently approached.
His lips quirked into a smile, but before he could weave another word into his story, his gaze wandered past them and fixed on you. Silence hung heavy for a moment as Buggy's demeanor shifted.
"Well, well," he said with a playful upward tilt to his words. "Look who's back. Hope your ‘lovely’ boss wasn’t too hard on ya.”
Hard. You can say that again, you thought sardonically, your thoughts drifting back to the movement Afton had made once he had sat down. The little lift of his hips, the flick of his wrist just below the desk's edge.
From the corners of your eyes, you could see how Lucy and Erica were covering their lips and giggling at the way Buggy called Mr. Afton ‘lovely’. Yeah, he was an old sourpuss.
"Nothing I couldn't handle.”
Lucy's brow creased with genuine concern as she turned to you, the previous amusement fading. "He didn't give you a tough time, did he? You know how he can be..."
You felt Buggy's eyes still on you, a hint of something darker lurking beneath his clownish persona.
"It was nothing," you reassured them. "Really."
Lucy’s hushed tone barely reached over the din of children’s laughter and arcade noise. "He can be...intense. Just wanted to make sure you're okay."
Buggy's chuckle was low and gravelly, not matching his colorful appearance. You turned to look at him.
"If he's giving you trouble,” he started as he toyed with his almost empty cup. “I can get nasty for the right reasons." His words were laced with humor on the surface but carried an undercurrent of something darker, more primal.
He wanted to protect you? Your eyes widened at the realization. You just hoped there was no protection needed.
“Oh my,” Erica gasped, once again fluttering a coaster near her cheeks to cool her undoubtedly heated thoughts. 'Get nasty'. Perv. Lucy looked flustered as well, her eyes firmly on the pirate clown.
Buggy grinned, then chuckled, and then started laughing so infectiously that Lucy and Erica had to laugh too. Even you were having a hard time not joining in and caught yourself chuckling like a schoolgirl with a crush. But you couldn’t help it. Buggy's laugh was rich and warm; it filled spaces within you that Afton's cold fingers had left untouched.
“Well, very funny,” you huffed, suddenly mindful of the way Mr. Afton’s office door was left slightly ajar. Had he been listening in on the entire conversation? Now that was a horrible thought.
“I’m going to check on the tables,” you said before Buggy could interrupt you. He already stood with his lips apart, ready to interfere. “Before I tempt fate.”
Buggy quirked a brow before shouting after you “it’s not only fate you’re tempting”, but you were fast, sprinting away and onto the restaurant floor to pick up empty cups and plates.
For several minutes after you’d left the bar, you could hear Buggy’s voice over the music as he and Erica and Lucy talked. Then, the low voice of Mr. Afton called Buggy away and it suddenly felt easier to breathe. A little butterfly fluttered in your chest. Worry, lust, attraction, confusion. It was all there, cluttered in that place that also harbored your heart.
“Get a grip,” you muttered, hoping no one saw your inner struggle. “He’s just another clown. And your boss doesn’t try to feel you up. You’re imagining things.”
But were you truly?

When opla was announced I was guarded, but trailers and learning that Oda would have first and last word about everything made me hopeful.
But I knew that live action are never for the actual die hard fans.
Too much need to be cut because of time, as real actors cant look like they only age two years for 26 years, and some cartoon stuff doesnt translate well to live action *cough* garps fist of love *cough*
So I was able to convince my friend to watch opla with me.
She had read the manga when she was little, up to syrup village, so she was excited to see Kuro because she actually liked him back when she read it.
I was mostly there just to observe my friends reaction to it instead.
My favorite moment was watching her freak out after the "grandpa?" reveal.
I dont like that Garp was included that early on, I didnt mind him being there at rogers execution. But more than that seemed too much. I watched some Netflix guy explaining that they wanted to add a reason why the strawhat had to keep moving from island to island, but no marine would do because who would bother chasing a pirate crew with no bounty. I understand that reasoning. Still dont like it, but I understand.
But my friends reaction made it all better.
Did you know netflix wanted a romance between Nami and Zoro? Thank god Oda was there to stop it.
Also my friend and I quote "Oregano is for savages!" a lot now.
I'm truly glad you liked it anon and I do understand the excitement that came with it, but I honestly could not stand it. Nearly every scene and every line was like "Sanji wouldn't say that. Nami wouldn't do that. Why is this happening? Luffy definitely wouldn't say that."
An adaptation must adapt to its medium, true, but that is not what this did. This was an insanely loose reinterpretation that took so much charm away for me. I've talked about it on this Tumblr tons now but I've finally had the time to watch through all of it now that the hype's died down, and it just made me angrier per episode?
They had to shorten things down, but they included so many new scenes that added nothing? They had to explain the Strawhats going from island to island... WHY? They literally had a spine to go off, the original property had them going from island to island to find a crew and get to the grand line. That's literally a very solid reason. WHY did they need any marines chasing them? It just sounded like an excuse to add a fan favourite character so the Garp fans could scream about it.
And I've said this many times, but Oda being part of the process genuinely means nothing to me. Netflix infamously do not listen to their creators, and not only did they admit Oda HATED the Garp addition and they STILL added him, you can tell so much of his original vision was thrown aside for non-anime fan audience convenience. Usopp and Sanji felt like side characters for god's sake, Buggy felt comically evil for a LIVE ACTION, Mihawk's fight was literally so empty due to the fact no one was THERE? NAMI was the one who yelled she believes in Zoro and they'll always be friends??
I truly do not believe Oda would agree to most of that, and considering we know he was ignored for Garp, we know for sure he was definitely ignored for many other things.
As always, if you loved it, great! I'm glad the excitement was met. Maybe I'm cynical, maybe it's not to my tastes, but it screams Netflix cash cow to me and the whole time I watched it I thought "This is not One Piece at all."
As a reinterpretation? Great!
As an adaptation? It failed miserably. None of the characters felt like themselves and the additional scenes were so nothing. Sorry for the sour reply anon but for those on here who know, I indeed have a sore spot for that entire production.
I honestly think a lot of people got blinded by the pretty actors and the millions of dollars that went into production and promotion to really look at it for what it was trying to be.

Hello! Do you know any streaming sites for movies or series in spanish? I would love to learn by watching spanish movies or dubs but can’t find any sites… thank you!
The official ones like Hulu or Netflix and I assume others will have different language options that you can search by. Netflix for example has lots of things dubbed, and anything officially done by Netflix tends to have Spanish - sometimes Latin American Spanish and also European Spanish
Every so often you'll be lucky and find something on youtube with subtitles or people putting up their own subtitles
...
And of course piracy is always wrong and you should not look up seriesyonkis which is a known piracy site for Spanish-language dubs/subs of multiple series
Piracy is not the answer and please do not go to seriesyonkis to watch any of its pirated material, and especially be careful of potential viruses and malware on the internet in general

The influx of new watchers from the netflix dropout is great, but once again...
new Black Sails watchers who complain that it isn't gay enough...
Why is it that 'gay' to you is only two men kissing? why do you need soft uwu romance with two men you can sexualize for it to 'count' as gay. why don't women count. why doesn't the scar of lost love count. why don't bisexuals count?
To hammer it in - Why don't the lesbians count? and don't 'cishetero male gaze' me. I'm a lesbian and i enjoy watching Anne and Max fuck. see the point above - lets be honest here 'queer enough' is when you can fetishize gay men. Your fetish is gay men.
The lesbians and violence are too 'cishetero male gaze'. I think this one pisses me off the most. Most Black Sails fans are queer. Most of the fandom are queer. Interestingly enough its the 'allies' I hear this from the most. Not every queer piece of media is going to be soft boys gently falling in angsty love. some times it's violence, sometimes it's lesbians, sometimes is queerness being a person and not a titillating makeout scene between two abercrombie models.
Maybe admit that you're not actually an A+ ally, you have a fetish for queer men. Which like...we all have fetishes, but you don't get to deem a queer piece of media 'not queer enough' just because you couldn't get your fix from it. Black Sails is queer from episode 1. fucking grow up
Like to be clear, I also disagree with the current marketing of the Netflix Black Sails drop as 'forget about OFMD this is the greatest queer pirate show'. For some people, OFMD is their purest representation. THAT'S FINE. for an angry gender queer lesbian like me, it's Black Sails. I mean....It is my favorite show, ad you don't have the right to invalidate my experience by saying it's 'not queer enough'.
I go back to what that one blogger said when OFMD first came out. Recommending Black Sails to OFMD fans is like recommending Hannibal to B99 fans because they're both cop shows. Not every OFMD fan is going to want to engage with the violence and overt sexuality of Black Sails, AND THAT'S FINE. It's got similar themes but it's a different genre entirely, and you don't have to like it. But that doesn't make it any less queer, how dare you even insinuate that.

probably a silly question, but what version/series of TMMT are your blog and characters (like Tomiko) based off of? I want to have a better understanding of your setting so i figure a good place to start is with watching that :O
oh 100% Rise of the TMNT, there’s really no other version of TMNT that has grabbed my attention and love as strong as Rise has
which, like, i get people saying they love Tomiko even without seeing the show/movie, BUT!! YOU SHOULD WATCH IT TBH. It’s fun! Silly! It’s makes me laugh hysterically! The characters are charming! The animation is Studio Trigger level good!! IT MADE ME LOVE DRAWING AGAIN AFTER A 3 YEAR LONG POST COLLEGE BURNOUT. You certainly don’t need to watch it to like Tomiko, but if you like her you might like it! If it weren’t for the show she wouldn’t exist. also OK granted if you’re a diehard tmnt person it might be hard to get used to the character changes, splinter especially (imo he’s the funniest character in the whole show so i’m biased), but they’re really fun and fresh. Also I’m not in the habit of recommending things I don’t fully love with my whole soul.
anyways just try watching until the “fast and furriest” episode, that’s the one where i realized i was gonna be down horrendous for this show forever tbh (first season and movie is on netflix, both seasons on paramount+, you CAN pirate it I don’t run your life. also you can watch the movie on its own buuuuutttt it’s a richer experience if you watch the show first)

t do you thinknof them replacing The Wibberlys with a different writer after they wrote both films and the series?
Hey Emmi!
Thanks for your question.
Alright, this might be an unpopular opinion but...I think that was the right choice.
As explored in my initial breakdown of the 2003 script, National Treasure was the result of many creative voices, with the Wibberlys being the final writing team who took the story over the finish line into production. Their voice was an important addition to the project...but it is not the project.
For example, we've also explored just how fundamentally the casting of Nicolas Cage and Diane Kruger affected the tone of the story.
And honestly? I know you don't agree, but to me Book of Secrets and Edge of History are both fundamentally flawed stories, both as sequels to National Treasure and as narratives in their own right. They are missing something, missing some of the quintessential oomph that makes National Treasure special.
After BoS it could have been argued that the sequel was made on too quick a turnaround to fully develop the story--this is incredibly common when movies are popular enough for the studio to want a sequel in short order. The story is, in my opinion, woefully underbaked, but like, I get it. That happens.
It's EoH that confirmed my suspicions that they were not the right team for these later projects. It's clunky. It fails to explore the world in a meaningful way. I want to like Jess. I want to care about the hunt but the story is just not all there for me.
Again, the Wibberlys had a major disadvantage. This was only the second TV show they've created. The other was a USA original that ran for 12 episodes...in 2012 when USA was still in its blue sky era and ran popular shows for as many 22 episodes as they could. Their other show, Common Law, was not the kind of Netflix miniseries 1-season darling we're used to now. It simply flopped.
So the Wibberlys aren't good at writing TV shows. That's, again, fine. It's a different skill set, and I have rarely seen treasure hunts work in ongoing narratives like that anyway? The genre excels as tight one-off narratives. It's hard to keep the excitement going without dragging things out in between clues...something with EoH is incredibly guilty of.
That in of itself does not mean they shouldn't write another NatTreas film.
But they are also not that good at writing National Treasures, because 2/3 of the National Treasure franchise is not that good.
I don't think just because they made the other one means they should get to make every property going forward. Sometimes new voices make stories stronger and bring in new ideas. Yes, sometimes they also make them worse and miss the mark of what was beloved about the original. But again, I think the Wibberlys' followups are already missing that mark so might as well try something different.
That's one of my favorite things about Scooby-Doo, btw. Like Sherlock Holmes and certain other long-running properties, there's just so damn much of it that if you don't like one creative team's take, you can just wait for the next one.
However, while I adore the first Pirates of the Carribean--Can an action-adventure movie be more perfect than Curse of the Black Pearl? Probably not--Ted Elliot was also one of the story-by credits on BoS.
Tumblr media
So if you're worried, the franchise is still very much "in the family."
If you wanted more fresh voices, eh, we'll see.
On the plus side, this one seems to be getting plenty of development space, which at least avoids any rushed-to-production problems faced by BoS
God can you imagine Jerry Bruckheimer liking your shit enough to just...wait for it?
So, there you go. That's my take.
Your thoughts?

One Piece Live Action - OP Fan Review
Tumblr media
So it's finally time.
We waited on bated breath and anticipation to see if Oda's masterwork could in fact translate to live action, much less Netflix live action. Titles such as Death Note and Cowboy Bebop have caused sincere fears that it would not go so well, but with Oda in the production there was hope, and now we see if it's rewarded.
Knowing that this is an adaptation and they were covering most of East Blue's saga in 8 episodes there will of course be differences. But whether or not they work remained to be seen, so let's talk about it.
Spoilers for One Piece, both Live Action and manga/anime because there will be overlap to discuss
First and foremost we will need to pour one out for those who didn't make the cut; Woop Slap, Ripper, Ritchie (referenced but not seen), Gaimon, Django (he had a poster but not a presence), the Usopp pirates, Johnny and Yosaku, Carne, that fly in Fullbody's soup, Pearl, Moocy, and most surprisingly Hachi. It's a shame to not see them (also 3 future-warlords in the audience of Roger's execution) but I can understand them...minus Hachi he's kinda an important connective piece in the long run. Also no Usopp Hammer or Usopp Rubber Band, the sacrilege!
So as far as adaptations go though this was really good. Opinions are of course subjective, so a lot of fans are welcome to say that Live Action has done arcs better than the manga/anime, but I'd say it's either as good or a little less, but that's nothing to be ashamed of. A lot of people who haven't watched or read One Piece get a nice introduction of almost the first 100 chapters/45 episodes, which contrary to the memes of 'yeah One Piece gets good at episode 629' should be enough to whet people's appetites to see if they wanna take the plunge.
Of course, change is scary and sometimes not accepted, so not all the changes made were ones I liked, at least as much as the original source. I kinda feel like we did a few characters dirty; Makino (no flirtatious chemistry with Shanks? come on), the Orange Town Mayor, Mohji, Chouchou (again, I get it, can't really get animals to act so easily), Fullbody, Gin, Krieg, Genzo, and Nojiko did have a bit more to do in the source material but often only got one scene or lacked the same spark they had. Also the amount of death was surprising, I get most of it but at the same time killing off Merry (and recontextualizing how the Going Merry was named by not having Merry be its creator even with the lore change that Syrup village makes ships) does kinda leave Kaya even more alone, in the original at least she had him and the Usopp pirates for company. While Buggy as a character is awaiting praise later down the line I will have to say that his role beyond episode 2 was a bit lackluster, he was never gonna help the crew for sure but it was weird for him to just saunter away from Arlong Park, I also feel like we could've better explained Devil Fruits and water's effect on DF users, because it is a very big misconception by those on the outside that Luffy simply loses his powers when hit by a splash of water, rather than his strength being sapped when more than half-submerged; rain, splashing waves, that doesn't effect DF users that way, and it's not like it's an off switch Luffy could still stretch while in water it's just harder to do so. It was also a shame not to have Shanks and Buggy's backstory shown. The CGI did have some rough moments too, I was not too much of a fan of how they did Kuro's pussyfooting (no you don't understand it's literally called the pussy foot technique) in episode 3, episode 4 was better, I felt that Luffy vs Arlong relied a bit too much on it too. Zoro's flashback was oddly placed in episode 4, given how it's more fitting as a build up to Zoro vs Mihawk, also felt like the context of Zoro losing to Kuina 2001 times in a row was sorely missed in that flashback. I will also have to admit that while the costuming is great, there is a very glaring case of it being very easy to spot the important characters from the crowd.
Some changes I was more than fine with, Alvida changing her call to most powerful makes sense since insulting her appearance wouldn't really go down too well, Zoro could've been a bit more mellow but he still played the edgy deadpan guy well...at least until Luffy eventually wears down his brain cells, and as cool as the Mr. 7 fight was it does not help debunk those 'minority hunter' memes. Changing Sham's gender worked pretty well too, the actress wore the look very well, and though people were a little let down that Benn Beckman is not super handsome I didn't have a problem with his look.
Of the changes I liked more it's probably that we saw more of Nami growing vulnerable to the crew, sure in turn we lost her fake-stabbing Usopp and grabbing a lit fuse but we got her bonding with Kaya and staunchly try to convince Zoro not to fight Mihawk - whereas in the anime/manga she had already ran off with the Merry - plus I feel like we got more friendship between her and Zoro at this stage, it's not that they didn't get along but I do feel like Zoro's dismissal in the live action is almost tied to feeling a little hurt by her betrayal. I enjoyed and was surprised with how much Garp we got, and how much he and Koby interacted with Luffy this early, since while we get the cover story of Koby-Meppo it's more it's own thing and we don't even learn of Garp's relation to Luffy until about 3 more sagas (sagas, not arcs, sagas), but it did help flesh out Koby's character more and his own character growth in parallel to Luffy. Think the change I was most approving of was confirming Kaya x Usopp, like she loves that liar so much so it was sweet to see a kiss in there, no romance my ass Oda, I also liked that they made it that Kuro was poisoning Kaya, since her original illness suddenly going away was a bit strange.
Every major character in this show translated very well to their characters in the source, even if they are a little different in some traits. Inaki as Luffy is a perfect fit, being equal parts charismatic, serious when necessary and aloof, he handled the big pressure that would've come with a character of Luffy's character in fantastic stride. The other crewmates were of course very well casted too, having wonderful chemistry with each other, as were their child counterparts, but I found myself most impressed by the villains; Morgan, Helmeppo and Kuro especially surprised me by how well they came across, Jeff Ward as Buggy was always gonna be a perfect fit in my mind too, given how much I saw of him in Agents of SHIELD. Arlong did take a bit of time to grow, but I can't deny he does the laugh perfectly. Side characters such as Kaya and Zeff also impressed me, having been given a bit more content to chew on in their stories, and Shanks did soothe my worries I had from the trailer by being jovial and true to character.
The biggest positive impression I got from One Piece was the sense of wonder and vibrancy, the settings were all wonderfully crafted with care and style fitting to Oda's vision, I particularly liked the added carnival entertainment stands in Arlong Park to better reflect its homage to Sabaody Park, the same can be said with costuming - referencing previous colour spreads - and motifs like the bounty poster introductions and the leitmotifs of characters like Buggy, Arlong and the Straw Hats, plus the instrumental of 'We Are' is wonderful. Most important is that the moments landed, especially Shanks giving the Straw Hat, the barrel scene, and Nami asking for help, but we also crafted some newer subtle moments, such as Luffy being drawn to the Merry and pitching to Kaya regarding it, and Zeff and Garp's conversation. Easter eggs were also hidden well enough to not be blatant to non-fans but rewarding to those who know.
So yeah, it was very much a huge success, one I hope will be translated in its positive reviews and viewership. If there's a second season I'd anticipate that we'd cover Loguetown and the Alabasta saga, but with that comes more castings I do not envy the team to find, because outside of campaigns for Jamie Lee-Curtis to play Kureha there are a ton of big and iconic players in those arcs that'll need perfect casting to pull off; Ace, Crocodile, Vivi, Bon Clay, and Tashigi (since you'll have to have a comparison with Kuina's actress) is tough enough but we're also gonna have to make the 'puppet or CGI' decision with Chopper and somehow cast the most beautiful woman on the planet to play Nico Robin. Then perhaps Season 4 (providing they do the Skypeia saga all in Season 3, only needing to cast one to three properly big players depending on whether they have Shanks meet a certain someone) they'll have to struggle with even more casting difficulties.
Still, if they're up for the challenge go ahead and do it, I'll be there for Season 2 if they're willing to make it.

"Why criticize RT and not company X?" And why this whatabaustism is stupid.
Ever since ALL of the nearly 100 stories of RT abuses after Kdins story came out i have been hearing the same old excuses, the same old arguments and the same old bullshit in defense of RT. So many fans of RWBY keep saying "There are worse companies!" or in various ways try to point out some imagined "hypocricy" over choosing to criticize and not support RT. Recently i have read one too many of such opinions and decided to make a handy "guide" or a refutation of sorts to all of such bullshit and why its bullshit.
Logical Fallacy
Stop me if you have heard this one "RT is bad, sure, but Disney is worse! Why are you going after RT and not disney!?". I would imagine most of us have seen simmilar statements being made in defense of RT. This is something that is called "Whatabautism", its a form of a logical fallacy (Basically, shitty way of arguing) that is meant to excuse one wrong with another, perceivably bigger wrong. Its like a child smashing a window and then when caught saying "But my brother set a barn on fire!". Both are bad, but this fallacy is meant to excuse one by the perceived "smallness" of the act in comparison to the other.
Tumblr media
Of course, to any person who has cleared the age of 10, it is pretty clear why such an argument is bullshit. Because a bad thing still remains bad even if someone else has done worse. The same goes with RT.
Is RT an uniquelly bad company in the entertainment industry? Fuck no. Disney does performative activism ALL the time as a key example. If we look at Holywood we can see that it is INFESTED with sexual predators of various kinds, for fucks sakes, Ezra Miller could run around on a crime spree and receive no punishment because they were protected by their showrunners. The entertainment industry is INFESTED with all kinds of bullshit like this.
That does not make what RT does good, does not excuse their actions. And does not make them above reproach.
Especially not since they are a PART of WB and we know for a FACT that them coming under WB Umbrella actually made them PAY their staff properly. Which is very strange, dont you all think? That the big evil corporation of WB somehow STILL made the work conditions in RT better? That reflects worse on RT than it will ever on WB.
Projection
This whatabautism is even more riddiculous once one realizes that it comes from a place of projection.
Tumblr media
This is but one of many such cases of projection. The fans of RWBY will often talk about how those who criticize RT and RWBY should shut up because they also consume other media and some of them even go as far as create conspiracy theories that RWDE(Critics) actually secretly buy RWBY merch!
Tumblr media
Of course, they cant prove any of that shit. What critics of the show can prove for a fact however is that NONE of these RWBY fans give a single solitary shit about what RT has done. After all, the BB merch sold out like hotcakes and many people keep calling for people to support RT financially to get V10 greenlit.
Tumblr media
This being one of the examples. It is the fans constantly shouting about people to continue to consoom as much as possible and spend as much money as possible.
For those people to then project onto critics of the show and create conspiracies that the critics are the ones financially supporting RT is just silly.
Especially when...
Piracy
Piracy exists. This entire diatribe of "supporting" other companies presupposes that people cant just... Pirate. A good example is this message i received not too long ago.
Tumblr media
And my answer was very simple to this person. I dont support Anime companies, Disney or any other entertainment corporation like this. Because Piracy exists. The last time i was in a Movie Theater was watching The Force Awakens in 2015. The last time i bought Anime or Anime themed merch? Never. I dont have Netflix, i dont have Disney+, i dont pay even a single cent to streaming companies, entertainment corporations or shitters like that, because i have websites on the internet for that.
Because it is THAT easy to avoid supporting shitty companies.
The same goes for Video Games. When Blizzard exposes came i dropped WoW and all Blizzard games. Currently i mostly play Indie titles or titles from companies i know arent dirty. Kenshi for example was made by one dude, Vampire Survivors, Baldurs Gate 3, Darktide, Underrail, Battle Brothers, Metal Hellsinger, Disco elysium, the list goes on. Most of these games were made by either small teams or single dudes.
When RT was first exposed, many people discussed Piracy as a form of protest. And so many people revealed just how little they know about the concept. Some of them tried and still try to pull the "Well, you cant avoid suffering under capitalism" kind of arguments. They are partially true, but in the end are wrong because...
Entertainment is one of the easiest things to drop to less human suffering. We all need food, water, housing. But for entertainment we as a generation are spoilt for choice, millions of books, fanfictions, animations, games, created for our enjoyment. Many made without suffering involved, and those that were are easily accessable without supporting the companies that created them.
You can hate RT
So, im going to finish with this. Hate RT with your entire heart if you so wish. These accusations of hypocricy? They are all bullshit. They are made by people who dont give a shit about people suffering, as long as they get their new fix of RWBY. They are made by people who will project onto you all of the shit THEY are doing.
So hate RT as any other shitty entertainment corporation and the leadership (Including those in CRWBY) that KNEW all of this shit was happening, and either hid it/suspected it (Ryan Heywood) or/and did NOTHING about it.
And these people trying to stop you from hating RT for GOOD REASON are just doing this because they LIKE RT.
It would be one thing if they rightfully called people while also hating RT. But they dont.
(This post can be found under the same name on Reddit)
