first off, loving the soft Hush and Doc interactions at the beginning, the babygirl is learning! i love them ahsgajdh and Hush asking Doc to hold his hand :(((

VEGAS REFORMING. oh. wow.

it sounds like Hush only pulled together the parts of Vega from before the Cacophony ended. he has a better(?) view of humans, and he doesnt seem so vindictive of them as of yet

one thing that caught my attention is that Vega said "I am the first-formed of Gravity." he's one of the first demons. i even theorized as much in my last tinfoil hat post (therefore it is my legal right to say "HAH! called it!") that makes the Sovereign's cruelness towards demons even more sad, cuz he knew what they were like before they were evil n shit

another thing that Vega said was that he was the "Anacrusis of his (D'Deridahn's) Phrase." (this is referring to when he's repeating his whole name). again, we already know that "anacrusis" means "one or more unstressed syllables at the beginning of a verse."

i said in an earlier theory that the term "Anacruses" might be a fancy title for old demons. Vega said he's the "Anacrusis of [D'Deridahn's] Phrase." so, i think in some aspects, i was right, but "Anacruses" is more specific: it refers to the first demon created by a Sovereign; the "Phrase" in question being the line of demons created by that Sovereign, and the Anacrusis of that phrase being the first demon. do you see where im going with this?

speaking of lines, Vega said "When you made the Well. When you formed the line."

now, the obvious jump we can make with this is that Hush is the one who created the Elision Well in Aria. we already know from previous audios that Hush was someone else before he was Hush. he maintains that he was created (recently) by the Sovereigns, but Vega calling him "Egregore of the Sovereigns" clearly says that Hush indeed was someone else beforehand

whats interesting is that Vega doesnt say that Hush (or Egregore) is a Sovereign; he says "of the Sovereigns," which is funny because Egregore sounds like a very Sovereign-esque name, not a star's name like a demon's. looks like Egregore is a creation of the Sovereigns too, but what is he? is he the same as Hush, the silence in the spellsong? or is he something completely different, like a lesser Sovereign, or the first demon? could the naming conventions have been different back then? or maybe, its the opposite direction, with Egregore being an angel-type character?

and what is the "line" that Vega refers to? i assume that it has to do with the Well, considering that he says, "When you made the Well. When you formed the line." maybe its the line of yet-to-be-formed demons, lying in wait just beyond perceptibility?? we dont know why demons have kept forming in the Well after the Sovereigns were chained to Death, Avior said as much im sure; and granted, we dont even know how or why the Well was formed in the first place, but we do now know that Hush/Egregore was responsible for it

wrapping this up with YIPPEE THEYRE GONNA GO FIND WARDEN!! The Shanghai Run with Benji on the line is one of the only truly great sequences. Watching Ethan just RUN down the roof, that's so fucking dangerous, he could have fucked up his legs or fell so easily but he moves so smoothly, and then Benji complaining about losing his citizenship and the ONLY SUSTAINED SHOT IN THE MOVIE with the long run, and it's all good.

the fact that Ethan explains to Julia how to reload a gun by comparing the magazine to the batteries for the flashlight in their kitchen is a fucking tremendous detail and might be the best line in the movie bc of what it conveys about Ethan as a teacher, his familiarity with Julia and their home, and how he thinks about things. It's really great.

..... and that's everything! SEE. there are glimmers! there are moments!

the rest of the movie is just fuckawful, that's all!

hihi if this is about the new sketches i just made then there's so much i could tell you about them and at the same time so little things to talk about..... but let's go you're in here for a ride this is gonna be long

So those ocs are from left to right: Eli, Gala, Gavriel and Loreto, all belonging to the same universe, but i've had them for so long that their stories and world building and everything has changed so many times that nothing about them makes sense really (and i'm considering changing everything again to be less fantasy,, maybe, idk). Let me tell you about each one of those in order now under the cut:

> Eli: full name Elijah but i'm considering changing it to Elías because i don't want any of my ocs to have an english name anymore. This one is my favorite of favorites, he is my babygirl and my wet piece of gargabe of a son <3 He's the main character of my oc world and any other oc i have revolves around him somehow. The thing about this guy is that he transforms into a dragon and this only makes sense because i made him when i was 13 (and i am 24 now), so please bear with me... i was an early teen and that was the coolest thing to me at the time... anyway everything about him, from his story to his appearance, has changed multiple times but i kept that trait (the dragon thing) because i think it's funny but it also makes me cringe every time i have to say it. Also he's my pfp. Sadly the only thing i can tell you rn about this guy's story is that he's been travelling and surviving on his own for -reasons- and meeting new people through his travels, nothing specific because, again, i might change everything

> Gala: probably the most recent one out of these four, still from 2017-ish so she's been around the block for quite a while already. She's one of the only who's story probably stayed the same through all these years. She's the daughter of a duchess who rules/controls over a region and its people, so high class, rich and likes to show it. She has an older brother who was one of my favorite ocs for a while. In relation to the oc stories, Eli had to work for her family for some time and they grew close together, even though he was there to just do chores around the house. Gala doesn't have any friends due to her position and appreciates the company of someone her age even if it's a house worker and lower class. She's just a plain human tho, nothing fantasy or magical about her.

> Gavriel: or Gav/Gavi for short. I made this guy around 2016 for a roleplay group thingy and eventually, when that thing ended, i threw him into the pit that is this oc universe because i liked his design. He and Loreto (girl on his right) are both orphans and grew together as siblings. He had some weird "powers" i don't know how to describe without a doodle for you to get an image of it, but the origin of those has changed so many times already i don't even remember most of it. In older iterations of his story he had been experimented on and that's kind of how he got it i think?? his sister thought the experiment was gonna be good for him but it just fucked him up (i know this makes no sense i'm very sorry)

> Loreto: the older out of ALL of my current ocs, the first drawing i made of her was in 2011/2012 i believe, she belonged to another oc universe, looked far different and had another name, but i rescued her for this one because, again, i liked her design. She's around 15 years older than Gav and used to be like the mayor? of a town? She was more of a villain without meaning it really, that's the only backstory thing i remember about her right now, sorry. Also, she's missing half an arm and sometimes uses a mechanical arm as a substitute but it obviously doesn't work the same as a real arm. Gav braids her hair every morning since she can't do it by herself.

okay im normal now. i just want to wrap kenny in a warm blanket and give him some hot chocolate. this was devastating. let me start by saying that i really liked that kenny wanted to put sara in the box, it goes to show how even "sweet cinammon roll" characters have their limits and imo his reaction is entirely reasonable. i think he might change his mind after he's had some time to process his feelings but even if he doesn't i still think his stance is understandable.

i think boyd was really interesting this episode, the flashback was great (also—kenny in a hoodie! i manifested it /jk) and what boyd said about himself, that he's just trying to be someone people can look to and think he's got things together and under control even though he doesn't, really helped me put his actions with sara and lying to kenny into perspective. if not for that scene i probably wouldve watched the episode and thought "what the hell boyd?" but the flashback made me realise that i was kinda seeing the character through the filter of "guy who's supposed to know what he's doing". he's put so much effort into building this image of himself that shattering it by acting like just some guy who's under a hell of a lot of stress had catastrophic consequences. he fucked up huge w kenny but i also feel like its unfair that one person has to carry so much weight on his shoulders if that makes sense

on Jade

i want to kill him but also kiss him softly and tell him everything is going to be okay what can i say. he actually smiled this episode :) i loved watching him be nice in his own way. but also damn he's definitely doing worse by the day. the friendship with the bus driver???? superb. a perfect writing choice. i just love the way hes trying to push everyone away but also just starved for human comfort and connection. i was really happy to see him just be with someone so they could at least drown their sorrows together instead of alone. am i shipping them? yes. my ideal jade ship was trudy but they cruelly took her from us so ill have to keep looking for options. anyone around his age is game

also him being just pissed that the matthews were living there now was so funny. "at least you had a house" actual 5 year old behavior. love to see it. you'll warm up to them jade

oh babygirl you really fucked up big time back in season one didnt you. personally i dont blame sara but id be worried that what happened to her could happen again. everything about her was heartbreaking this episode but when she casually said that the boy in white may also be trapped in this place??? dammit. that's a game changer for all of my theories if true. was he ever a normal human boy? do people get supernatural abilities from continued survival / progress in this place or something like that? like martin giving boyd his blood was super deliberate and we've still got to see if it's really gonna be a curse or if it could be a blessing after the initial adjustment period. it stopped his tremors at least and who knows maybe it comes with some extra bonuses like the monsters not seeing you as prey idk. im totally rambling rn.

So okay I dunno who knows this from Twitter but I've been livetweeting all of JJBA in this thread, or specifically from this tweet onwards if you wanna see the SC stuff. That outta the way I do have some Onions on this part

First of all I loved BT and I cradle it in my arms every time I think about it if that provides context but ANYWAY ON WITH THE SHOW HERE

What I liked

I loved!! The characters themselves!!! I loved the dynamics that the Crewsaders (I saw Sage use that term and I stole it lol) had together. In particular I've found myself to be really weak for the friendship between Polnareff and Kakyoin lmfao like. LIKE:

These two have a very very stupid relationship together that hooked me in the second I saw them do that stupid fucking handshake in the submarine. And tbh while the handling of Joseph could've done some work I looooooved getting to see him be stupid again even in his fuckin' what fifties? I love him

Kakyoin isn't really there all that much and is mostly The Smart Guy but he's earned my blorbofication also. Kakyoin is just fantastic. I like him a lot, and I think he had a lot of potential if he were explored more, but even as he stands in canon he's like [bathes him in slime] :) he's in his natural habitat

(Because you will subscribe to my headcanon that Kakyoin likes slime. He has slime bottles. What the fuck is Emerald Splash but some fucked up slime)

That said I don't quite understand jotakak tbh but I like it and I'm all for it

Jotaro's MO being gaslighting also made me die laughing when I realized that was exactly what he was doing. He really is Joseph's grandson

I also liked a lot of the villains. Hol Horse, obviously. Vanilla Ice was also kind of a "holy shit girl help" kind of deal and fun to watch, though I wish he'd been around for longer. I liked Pet Shop and N'Doul too. I also liked the concept of the killer baby lmao. And oh oh even though I didn't really like her I think Enyaba's arc was extremely fun and had potential to be really fucked up

I also liked the showdown against Dio a LOT. I thought it was real menacing and while it kind of fell apart at the end I think that was satisfying to watch, and I was DELIGHTED to see my babygirl return and eat an entire ham on stage. Also Kakyoin and Avdol are both totally alive and well :) I accept my downfall and join the copium gangs

Also I had a running gag about the Crewsaders not getting to eat a meal for the entire show without it getting ruined or interrupted (this post kind of summarizes it) and I really do miss that little bit of stupid humour already

What I didn't like

Why the FUCK did Araki think it'd be a great idea to pad out the story with the ENTIRE arcana as villains showing up within the first half of the story. So many enemies got reduced to jokes, and then he brings in EVEN MORE enemies as Egyptian gods and it's like... see THOSE had interesting abilities, but I was so burnt out on wanting to get the plot moving already, damn it, that I didn't have that much fun. N'Doul and Pet Shop were fine. I liked what Anubis did, and then he got turned into a joke. The rest? Mostly also turned into jokes too. Whatever

I already detailed a lot of my issues here but to summarize that post Part 3 genuinely disappointed me with how much of a slog it was to get through. That combined with its tone being stuck between serious and funny until Araki comes in and goes like "Oh fuck the ending is here and I wasted all this time fucking around?? Uhhhh ok wait" then he kills Avdol and goes "haha TIME TO CRYYYY" as if that were gonna work. At least Kakyoin's death felt more gut-wrenching (haha ow) because the tone was already serious, but that's still a cop-out to me

Like Araki's writing at the end of SC literally feels like this image

Anyway.

And I bring up the tone issue because Hol Horse had this too. I mention it in the post but Hol Horse going from a serious scene with Dio like this

To shooting himself in the fucking head for a cheap joke

What, and pardon my Spanish, the absolute fuck was that. This extends to Dio too because--oh we beat him with a kick? Ok. He already did such a big deal out of sucking grandpa silly so now he's so powerful he literally turned Joker moment digging his own nails into his skull and he's a MADMAN and THREATENING and whoop we kick him and he goes poof like a piñata. Your huge villain, killed like a fly within seconds. Bro.

God. Anyway.

Unfortunately I also find that Polnareff is both a character I love and a character I hate. I loved the way he developed, his struggles, his friendships. Polnareff was for better or for worse the heart of the crew. I feel like he's the type of guy to genuinely ask everyone how they're doing and check in on their feelings whenever he's stopped being a piece of shit diva going woe is me and getting mad for being bullied by everyone. I like him for that

But Polnareff also takes up so much screentime... screentime that should've been devoted to other members of the cast. Kakyoin pulled a Caesar and got his shit explained the episode he DIED. Joseph got reduced to an old man joke and Hamon to a sidenote. Avdol got put on a bus for most of the show and died twice to save fucking Polnareff. And Iggy would've been interesting if he hadn't been a literal fart joke from the start of his stay

And Jotaro... bro Jotaro. I found him extremely compelling in the fight with Dio and the last few episodes where he revealed that gaslight gatekeep girlboss is his MO. I love that about him. I think he's fascinating for that. Nerves of steel but realizing he needs others to break before he does so he can do anything substantial. Cool as fuck. Ok now why did he get all this screentime and development in the second half while Polnareff was having an existential crisis about sacrifice and death and several episodes to himself

It's complicated. I love Polnareff. I hate Polnareff. Just.

Final thoughts

Part 3 is flawed. I can see where Araki improved as a writer and where he still needs polish, and I hope these issues get addressed in Part 4. But Part 3 is absolutely overhyped and I'm not that happy w it overall, and since I hear Part 5 absolutely fucks, I hope it lives up to that and I don't get swindled by the popularity hiding some glaring problems nobody seems to talk about when I mention it beforehand

Although to be fair, most of my issues with the show boil down to "why did we waste so much time" tbh. We spent so damn long frolicking in the sand making fart dick and bullying jokes I eventually stopped watching for a week just to calm down and prepare myself to waste more time. That hadn't happened to me, even with PB. It was a shock

I will eventually revisit Part 3 as I get a friend through this w me though, and we'll see if my thoughts change at all with the rewatch. For now though... thank fuck it's over (affectionate)

I also love your character creation?? Like. Obviously I love Roi and all the OCs you have told me about but GOSH do you make it all so GOOD and realistic!! Its so refreshing and really inspiring to see. Its hard to explain, but you have a way of writing that touches every character you write deeply and its so clear how much you think about your characters and interpret them, and how they develop throughout the story. Like I really do love Roi’s development from HW to EW… it’s so fucking beautiful okay I love him T__T

And not to mention ur canon characters like hello!! I remember specifically one time I was admiring your writing and you were writing a thancred reply – and like. Believe me when I say I was so impressed! Idk how to describe it. 1. anne shirley from anne of green gables - this series and its protagonist were absolutely FORMATIVE for me and shaped so much of my worldview as a child. she remains one of my favourite characters in anything ever. a child of light by birthright.

2. percy jackson - look i have nothing to say for myself. i've been younger than him and exactly his age and older than him and he's very special to me. i'll always remember the way this series Hooked me into reading as a child.

3. tsukishima kei from hq - it's very strange that i've never written him but i adoreeeee him truly. i love his arc and his development and his personality and i love him finding JOY in what he does in a way that retains his integrity of self throughout it.

4. midorima shintarou from knb - clocking that i have a Type in characters now but really i LOVE him. he's my son. my babie son. i would do anything for him and his stupid cart and his stupid glasses and his stupid lucky items.

5. renee walker from aftg - okay i love the main trio of this series so much but i had to mention renee specifically because it's like half of her is what i am and the other half is what i aspire desperately to be. i think she deserves everything in the world.

6. artemis from artemis fowl - more of my type i.e. babie son. he's INSUFFERABLE and smug and clever and calculating and ruthless and not as ruthless as he thinks he is. and so, so, so loved. also he's just so fucking funny i love him.

7. todoroki shouto from bnha - i don't keep up with this series anymore but i do miss the characters and todoroki is so special to me. his arc and development are so compelling and i just want him to be happy!!

8. kim dojka from orv - oh my GOSHHHH this man. he is such an incredible character from a narrative standpoint (SO unreliable and complex, an incredible study in loneliness and storytelling and readership and escape) but also from a personal one he's SUCH A GUY. i love him endlessly.

9. saiki k from the disastrous life of saiki k - i don't talk enough about how much i love this anime but i ADORE saiki and his dry wit and constant tiredness and begrudging friendships (i'm just realising this is Still My Type) anyway i want to hold him up like simba. i want to gently rotate him in a microwave.

10. chuuya nakahara from bsd - he's just such a good boy. angry unhinged crazy good boy. he's tiny. i want to eat his gender. i want to ruffle his hair. i want him to find lasting peace and happiness. every six months i am suddenly hit with a wave of fondness for him.

i barely have a singular ship the entire ship is well. a ship. theyre all dating each other the entire ship is polyamorous. my fave dynamics so far tho r; bones & spock obviously they r so funny. scotty & kirk i dont think any other combo on the enterprise is more enabling of each others specific brand of bullshit. uhura & everyone she is their BABYGIRL she is the most important person on that ship n everyone loves her as they should. the second favourite babygirl after the enterprise itself. scotty is the third fave btww. pavel & chekov they are like. daforge before there was daforge n kirk n that one klingon captain in the tribbles ep. why were they like that.

kirk wasnt that feminist like yes for the time but he still very much so was a man written in the 60s by other men and idk i feel like painting him as 100% feminist w/ that one "a crewman" gif is disingenious. like definitely what abrhams did was a crime to make him even weirded! but idk people always want to focus on the best and its like grabbing so many women by the shoulders like that so often makes me very uncomfortable watching dhdfhfvhvf
